Shoshones Indian Tribe
What are Shoshones ? Shoshones are an Indian tribe people might also refer to them as the snake
nation. This tribe usually stays in both east and west of the Rocky Mountains. Shoshones are very
diverse, some Shoshones live west of the Rockies in roofless grass huts. In order for them not to
starve, they would hunt fish, birds, and rabbits. Other Shoshones also lived in east and north, these
Shoshones lived in tepees and they hunted buffalo.
These buffalo hunters are known as the lemhi Shoshones. Lemhi Shoshones lived on the plains
what is now Montana. They had brave men members, they grew poor and hungry over time. This is
because of their enemies, which drove the rich buffalo plains into the mountains. In order for them
not to die of starvation

Pricing and Financial Management of Contracts
Hugo Corporation Maximize Price Competition
1.You are concerned about the clarity of the purchase description in light of the lack of competition
on the current purchase. As a buyer, what can you do?
a.You can elect to rewrite the purchase description in more detail and have it reviewed in house for
feedback.
b.Or if circumstances permit, invite interested offerors who reply to the initial solicitation, to an
oral presentation of the offer and clarify any issues before requesting official bids or proposals.
This can be a video conference or a personal meeting.

What factors do you think affect this difference?
a.Washington Central knew they did not meet the award criteria with 2 instructors having no
masters degree and was hoping the low bid would compensate. Also engineers with bachelors
command less compensation that engineers with masters.
b.All their trainers were permanent employees working in DC and its possible that if they did not
get this contract they may become idle resources on the payroll.
3.The proposal of Washington Independents is $39,286 less than the Government estimate. What
factors do you think affect this difference?
The government may have estimated significant travel and lodging expenses for the instructors. But
the instructors at Washington Independents were all within 15 miles of each training location. This
significantly reduced travel expense e.g rental cars, airfares, and possibly eliminated additional
lodging expenses e.g hotels.
4. Los Angeles Quality has the highest proposed price. What factors do you think affect this
difference?
The 11 instructors that need to travel from LA to DC is a significant factor affecting the price.
The main price difference was the LA estimate to provide training at the Washington DC location.
Los Angeles proposed prices for all training locations were on target or very close within $2,000.00
of the government estimates; except for Washington, DC location where there was a

Dust Tracks
Dust Tracks on a Road Hurston s Dust Tracks on a Road depicts the struggle and journey of
growing up in a predominately African American society. She displays how African Americans
were curtailed to nothing after the Civil War and how it was quite difficult to commence a town on
their own of there own race. Her autobiography entails the very candid moments of the Harlem
Renaissance. As the novel is exposed in the opening chapter the subject matter is revealed and it
entails Zora Neale Hurstons life. So you will have to know something about the time and place
where I came from, in order that you may interpret the incidents and directions of my life (Hurston

This could potentially be the vacuum or circuit in Hurston s life that attested for her fame in the
Harlem Renaissance. The war generals were also very significant people in the development of
Eatonville and neighboring towns. Now, these founders were, to a man, people who had risked
their lives and fortunes that Negroes might be free. Those who had fought in the ranks had
thrown their weight behind the cause of Emancipation (5). This demonstration of leadership and
uncertainty are characteristics that Hurston posses. So, in a raw, bustling frontier, the
experiment of self government for Negroes was tried. White Maitland and Negro Eatonville
have lived side by side for fifty five years without a single instance of enmity. The spirit of the
founders ha reached beyond the grave (6). Hurston s opening exposition reveals only partial of
what could be the remaining events in the novel. However they do parallel with the theme of an
individual versus society. This being said because she has become a product of her environment
and her environment has shaped her in many ways as a writer. She was fortunate enough to grow
up in a very influential area. She prepares the reader for potential conflict with her environment
because her environment is so historic and classic. This usually results in amending one s behavior
or having to comply with the rules of society. But by having read other novels by Hurston one
knows that she is not one to agree in compliance and

A Comparison For Variable Cost And Absorption Costing
I have attached an analysis for your review. This analysis reflects a comparison for Variable Cost
and Absorption costing using
Sales:60,000 units
Production:80,000 units
Ending Inventory:20,000 units
Based on these analyses I have made several recommendations along with pros and cons to aid in
the decision making process.
I recommend that we use absorption costing over variable costing. Absorption costing is a method
where ...fixed manufacturing costs are inventoriable costs (Datar, et al, 2009). That is, inventory
absorbs all manufacturing costs. In the absorption metho there does not need to be a distinction
between fixe and variable costs.
Per the analyses performed on the attached spreadsheets one can see that the ... Show more content

We should experience some of the following positives after implementing JIT:
Supply Chain Management: The JIT inventory model may assist in being more efficient in the
way we handle supply chains and use our parts to assemble products. We can provide lower costs
throughout the manufacturing process; which can be passed on to our customers. With our lower
costs, we could produce a more affordable product for our customers and thereby help to stay ahead
of our competitors.
Reduction of Waste: By maintaining our current method we are housing products that go unused
and/or become obsolete. This causes us to sell product at a reduced price often less than cost or we
must dump the product with no money gained at all. The JIT inventory model should help to
address this situation and by housing fewer products in the warehouses we could address our
customer needs quicker and be open to customized orders.
Reduction in Warehouse Costs: It can be costly to keep excess inventory on hand. By moving to
JIT we may be able to reduce the number of warehouses we currently have as well as eliminate
excess storage.
Improved Customer Relations: Adopting the JIT model will allow for better servicing of our
customers. Having greater control of the manufacturing process will make it easier to respond to
our customers needs and any changes they may have or require.
While I have high lited the positives above we must also consider possible negative aspects.

Homosexuality in the Film Latter Days and in Sexual...
From the assigned readings and film, I felt that I have gained a better understanding on one of the
most controversial types of relationships, homosexuality. The topic of homosexuality isn t easy to
openly talk about but it is important as philosophy students, to have an open mind about topics
that we don t partake in. Doing so allows us to promote new ways of thinking about the world
around us and see them in a whole new light. In this personal response paper, I will discuss
homosexualityin connection with the film Latter Days to determine why a homosexual
relationship can meet Kant s criteria for acceptable love as mentioned in Ruse s essay, Is
Homosexuality Bad Sexuality? , as well as why it qualifies as a complete and healthy... Show more

According to the utilitarian approach, one is allowed to inflict harm on another for the sake of
happiness or the benefit of others (Ruse, 1995, pg.114). Basically, there are no immoral acts to the
utilitarian. Bentham believed that it is acceptable for anyone who wants to indulge that it produces
no harm but pleasure. Thus, homosexuality is not immoral. In the end, having the basic
understanding of the different ethical frameworks helped explain the reasons for why these people
thought the way they did and how it influenced and shaped their views on topics such as
homosexuality but that is not the focus of this paper. To put things into perspective, I will illustrate
how the relationship that develops in the film Latter Days (Cox, 2003) can meet Kant s criteria for
acceptable love. The film revolves around the development of a homosexual relationship between
Aaron, a closeted Mormon missionary, and his openly gay neighbor, Christian. After some initial
resistance, Aaron slowly but surely begins to grow fond of Christian and discovers his
homosexuality in the process. Meanwhile, what started out as a simple bet turns into something
more as Christian also discovers something that was missing in his own life true love. In the
beginning, Christian would have casual flings with men he didn t even know. There was no mutual
love between them. It was all about the sex and he didn t even remember their names.

Comparing The Morgentaler Case Of 1993 And The Smolig And...
In chapter one, the difference between the three types of crimes in Canada were discussed:
summary, indictable, and hybrid offences. Summary offences take place in provincial/territorial
court, and and the maximum penalty fine is six months in prison, five thousand dollars, or both. An
example of a summary offenceis soliciting in a public place, or carrying a weapon while attending a
public meeting. An indictable offence is one that is much more severe. The sentences given are
much more serious. Crimesconsidered an indictable offence include manslaughter, robbery, and
aggravated sexual assault. A hybrid/dual offence could include sexual assault, theft under five
thousand dollars, or unlawful imprisonment. The Morgentaler case of 1993 and the Smolig and
Scott case of 1988 were cases that would have a very impactful ruling. The supreme court of
Canada decided that section 287 of the criminal code infringed the rights of section 7 in the
charter of rights and freedoms. Section 7 states that Everyone has the right to life, liberty and
security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the
principles of fundamental justice. (Constitution Acts, 1867 to 1982) This declared that abortion
could ne longer be considered a criminal offence because it was unconstitutional and violated one
s rights under section 7. The oakes test would be applied to a case such as this. The oakes test is a
legal test the courts use to determine whether an

Comparing Arcite And Palamon
As host on the trail to Canterbury I have the honor of judging all the stories told by my
companions. The tales ranged from love to death to despair, but only one can win. The Knight is
a valiant, young soul who never ceases to impress on and off the battlefield. His tale also
impresses its audience. The knight is the winner because his tale is filled with love, pain,
adventure. The Knight s tale is a love story. The two main characters, Arcite and Palamon, are
madly in love with the Princess, Emily. They both love her at first sight, so much so that Arcite
says that the beauty of Emily hit him with so much force, that if Palamon was severely wounded he
would still hurt more, ... at the sight of her beauty touched him so that, if Palamon

How Cameras Changed America

(Pinhole Camera). Since then there have been huge advances in the camera world, with over 400
cameras have been made. Pictures are a big and influential part in people s lives. From Social
Media to books, and news, cameras have truly changed America.
The first camera, Camera Obscura use a pinhole lens to project an image of the scene upside down
onto a viewing surface. As cameras advanced the Kodak camera was created by George Eastman
and went on the market in 1888. It was simple box camera with a single shutter speed and fixed
focus lens. With furthering technology, the first DSLR (digital single release lens reflex) camera

As I was reading this story, I came to the realization that George Orwell childhood and young

Field Weapons Case Study
Field Artillery is about building and sustaining relationships. Relationships will thrive or die based
upon the liaison we provide to our maneuver brethren. Regardless of origin, habitual or ad hoc, we
derive our relationship with maneuver based upon our tactical mission. Under the seven inherit
responsibilities of artillery, a battery acting in direct support will furnish its own observers to each
company sized element and establish liaison, via a liaison officer, to the supported unit. Under this
definition, it is implied that a battery maintains the ability, organically, to supply maneuver with
sufficient and proficient personnel to control fires at the company and battalion level. For an

unsafe. By simply pulling from a pool of fires Marines, I am not confident in the voice coming

the detriment of providing liaison, FOs now view themselves as a separate agency; only

Taking a Look at X-Rays
The first human x ray was taken and discovered by German scientist Wilhelm Roentgen s first
experiment with cathode tube rays. The photo taken was the hand of his wife, Bertha. On the
photo you can see a clear view of her hand through the flesh and bone. The first human X ray was
an amazing discovery. Numerous people including scientists, and inventors were so fascinated
by the discovery that they started to experiment with cathode tube rays. But even so, x rays have
made many contributions to the world from industrial purposes before medical purposes.
Physicians used x rays for medical related injuries and they have progressed into new technology
such as smaller machines and better quality of photographs. X rays in the 1800 were used for
industrial purposes, for an industrial (not medical) application (NDT Resource Center). In 1913,
X ray tubes were changed when William Coolidge designed a high vacuum (NDT). The vacuum
tubes were a reliable source and operated up to 100,000 volts of energy (NDT). In 1922, the
industrial radiography moved forward. 200,000 volts of X raytubes that produced thick steel parts
were manufactured in a little amount of time (NDT). In 1931, volt X rays moved up to 1,000,000,
the generators helped the industrial radiography with an intense and useful tool (NDT). The use of

can talk meaningfully about one without the talking about the other. Bill Gates
INTRODUCTION:
The development of Information System is an extraordinary advancement in the business sectors,
thus playing an important role in revolutionizing the modern corporate business world. A wide
range of people use internet for emailing, developing databases, to gather information on various
arenas. Hence incorporating the resources of internet in business environment help in forming
business solutions like system designing, email communication, developing software apps etc.
(Granger Schroeder, 1996, p. 85). IT is currently serving a major role in all kind of business
processes. Hence a relation between IT and business can likely be compared to nervous system
and good health. Business leaders having smart senses will definitely embrace this. (McCormack,
2006, p. 2) But there are some negative impacts as well. In this essay, the impacts of internet in the
business in the disguise of emerging technologies like Web 2.0and Web 3.0, their strategic
competitive advantages will be critically evaluated and analysed. Also the benefits and drawbacks
of the internet will be compared and contrasted here.

The Significance Of A Rose In The War Of The Roses
Q: Who was in the war and why was it started?
A: The war of the roses was fought between the House of York and the House of Lancaster. These
two houses were royal family descending from the head family of England. When king Henry the
6th suddenly fell ill to his first of many insanity spells Richard from the House of Yorkbelieved that
he had the right to temporarily take over since he was the great grand son of king Edward the
third. Except Queen Margaret had already given birth to the kings first son, his name was
Edward of Lancaster. This made Richards claim to the throne a lot weaker since Edward was a
direct descendant of the current king. The york s eventually marched against Henry and took him
hostage Queen and his son to go into exile. The queen worked to rescue her husband and restore
her sons place as the rightful king of England (Wars of the RosesBritish History).
2. Q: What is the significance of a rose in this war and why is it called war of the roses?
A: The significance of a rose in this was was that it was one of many symbols used by each
house. Although this wasn t there only symbol the York s had a white rose as one of there
symbols. The Lancaster s adopted the red rose as a symbol in the 1480 s, this was more towards
the end of the war so there s no real significance of a rose in this war. The war was actually called
the cousins war until the 19th century when it was changed to the war of the roses (Andrews).

Online Learning And E Learning
Chapter 2: Literature Review {Insert Intro Text about Literature Review} 2.1 Online Learning
Ever since the computer evolution the way people learn has changed. Back in the day the major
idea of learning was limited to a physical classroom environment, but since the advent of
computers and the Internet that idea has since changed. Now it is possible to learn anywhere at
anytime as long as one has a computing device and Internet access. There is usually confusion
between Online Learning and E learning, as people tend to use the two interchangeably in some
cases. E learning otherwise known as Electronic Learning, is a term used to characterize a
learning endeavor carried out on an electronic device. E learning does not necessarily mean that
the learning material is accessible online, it can also come in different forms like an educational
CD ROM commonly found at the back of some textbooks or material than can only be accessed on
a campus intranet. Online learning on the other hand is an educational endeavor that can only be
primarily accessed while on the Internet. Pop (2016) defined E Learning as the appropriate use of
ICT to enhance the learning and can thus take place on campus or in any other context , while
defining Online Learning as A term describing learning that takes place online and thus requires
connection to the Internet . In summary, Online Learning is a form of E Learning that is done on
the Internet. 2.2 Learning Web Development Over the last decade

Murder Crime Remains
Murder/ crime mystery is a popularly watched genre on television. These shows display the actions
and job descriptions of forensic anthropologists, however, due to time requirements and for the
interest of the plot, there are many aspects that are not preformed or done so inaccurately.
Specifically, these inaccuracies mainly fall into two overall processes, recovery and laboratory
analysis. In season six episode ten of Bones, the FBI and the scientists from the Jeffersonian
Institute investigate a murder of set of remains found in a hot, running shower. For the most part,
these remains are fleshed, with the exception of hair and small bone fragments that were flushed
down the drain. An important mistake made by the team was incorrectly collecting... Show more

Temperance Brennan s initial analysis of the remains at the scene, she made the conclusion that
the victim was female and in her mid twenties. Although the information is accurate, her
statement was premature. When identifying the age and sex portion of the biological profile,
Forensic Anthropologists often look at multiple indicators before making a decision. This is
due to the range in features the bones can display. For example, a 90В° angle of the mandible is
a trait congruent in males, however it is not exclusive. Different parts of the skeleton also
display a range of indicators in regard to the age of the individual. Age is measured by the
amount of growth or degeneration the remains have experienced. Usually, degeneration correlates
with older age, however the nutrition and habits of the individual can speed up the process. For
example, a young but fully developed female runner may not show much signs of degeneration in
her upper extremities as she does on her lower extremities, specifically her knee joints. If
anthropologists were to look only at the individual s knees, they would most likely estimate a
much older age. In order for Dr. Brennan to accurate, the skeleton should have been further
evaluated to conclusively state the sex and age of the biological

Ww2 Impact On Aviation
Aviation had an enormous impact on World War 2 (WW2) and the war had a great impact on
Aviation. The cost of aviation during WW2 was staggering. Before the war started America had
about 300 air transport aircraft. During WW2 there were approximately 276,000 air planes
produce. Of that number 14,000 of them were lost in the US during testing and training.
Approximately 43,000 of them were lost overseas (Engel, 2011). After the war American had to
change its focus, to quality, and people instead of cargo. Because during the war mass production
was the goal, and the ability to move mass amounts of equipment and soldiers. With all the advance
that had been made overexpansion became a cost. Too much too fast and not enough buyers.

Relationship: this is a huge part of the merger. The relationship of the two leadership s merger

dysfunction within the company. With defining the leadership right off, differently helped the
relationship of the two companies coming together. It allowed for clear communication with the

Rewards: I didn t find much on a rewards or incentives for the merger only that it would rank them
third in retail companies. This may be an area in which the company lacked, and may have pushed
them to the verge of closing now.
Helpful mechanism: I feel that they had a strong direction on with this area for the six box model,
because they are were much defined on how things were going to be. They had transition for the
headquarters to be in Chicago but also leaving the Kmart headquarters in Troy, MI. It showed that
there would be a support system still in place for the Kmart employees and customers.

Build Your Redesign Vocabulary Organizations are constantly changing over time to keep up with
internal and external environmental demands. When organizations are in the process of changing,
an organizational redesign is in the works. The purpose of this assignment is to discuss redesign
challenges that Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) faces during its
redesign phase of organizational change. Fundamentals of Organizational Redesign Organizational
redesign is the process in which changing an organization s informal design is due to shifting
dynamics in the organization s environment (Spector, 2013, p. 78). This happens for a variety of
reasons, and an organization should strategically consider both the internal and external
environment for causes in the dynamic shift. Organizational redesign does not just effect policy
and process development, but also the behaviors and norms of the organizational culture. One
reason for leaders of an organization to consider an organizational redesign is financial status of
the organization. This is the case for CHCCW. CHCCW has been in the process of an
organizational redesign for lack of financial sustainability, along with improving the cultural and
morale of the organization for the past couple of years. Organizational Redesign Challenges There
are many different redesign challenges that organizations must comprehend. By being aware of the
potential challenges, leaders can develop a strategic plan to be prepared if

These challenges include dangerously low water levels to do diversion for farming and
overheated water. These things where both cause by the dams on the Klamath. These factors
were part of what caused the fish kill in 2002. Klamath was also polluted from the dams and was
causing the tribes to get sick. The dams where causing a buildup of toxic algae which made the
Klamath un safe to swim in. This effected the tribes more than most as they use the river in their
ceremonies. This on top of the fish kill was what spared the protest. Thanks to those protest
dams were to be put up for removal those dams include J.C. Boyle, CopCo 1 2, and the Iron
Gate. These agreements were reached in 2010 and would have had the dams removed by 2020.
The other big par to the exhibit was the interview which were from tribal members as well as
activist. There where tribal members from Yurok, Karuk, and Hupa interviewed as well as some
of the main activist involved in the protest. Unfortunately, I did not get to see most of these
interviews as I was not able to stay after the talk. But from the talk I was able to tell that the

As a son of a sharecropper and grandson of a slave, Jesse Owens created History in 1936 when
he achieved what no athlete had done before: four Olympic Gold Medals. (jesseowens.com).
During this era, the United States had limited civil rights and was approaching a World War with
Hitler rising into power in Germany. Although Owens was victorious on the track, because of the
color of his skin, He was looked down upon and unrecognized by even his own country. Through
the excessive racism, one may ask how Owens moved forward and dealt with such negativity in a
situation that should have been celebrated.

Despite such success, Owens did not have the privilege to the luxuries of his fellow white
teammates. Owens had to stay in black only hotels and restaurants. And although he deserved it,
he was not offered any scholarships because he was Black and therefore was forced to work part
time in order to pay for his education.
On May 25th, 1935 Jesse Owens set three world records in a span of forty five minutes at the Big
Ten Championships in Ann Arbor(www.jesseowens.com). Despite his sore back that day, he
achieved a 9.4 second victory in the 100 meter dash, long jumped 26 ft. 8 Вј inches, sprinted at 20.3
seconds on the 220 meter sprint, and succeeded in the 220 yard low hurdles at 22.6 seconds.
Owens s achievement stands as perhaps the best single day accomplishment of any track and field
athlete history. Because of such great success, Owens entered the 1936 Olympics that were to be
held in Berlin, Germany.
Hitler was rising into power in Germany and it is said that he tried to use the Olympics in order
to show the world a resurgent Germany (www.jesse owens.org). Nazi propaganda promoted
concepts of Aryan racial superiority and depicted Africans as inferior. Hitler wanted the entire
world to believe that the Aryan people were a dominant race. Owens had different plans, as he
achieved four victories during the Track and field Olympics. On August 3rd Owens won the 100

The Divine Comedy By Dante Aleghiri
Dante Aleghiri s Divine Comedy is widely taught and written about. In it Dante, the author,
details his trip through Hell, Purgatory, and then Paradise. The Divine Comedy was written during
Dante s exile from his beloved city of Florence Italy. The work itself is read at various different
levels. One could read it as a theological work, a political work, simply as a poetic work, or even as
a philosophical work. In his work, Dante s Paradiso: No Human Beings Allowed philosophy
professor Bruce Silver argues that, Dante is not a philosopher, instead he just deals with
philosophical issues, including the relation between reasoning well and happiness. Dr. Jason
Aleksander, the philosophy department chair at Saint Xavier s University, would disagree, stating,
In short, for Dante, wisdom, the body of philosophy, results from the proper ordering of earthly
desires or, in other words, from the order among the moral virtues. Aleksander sees Dante as a
philosopher tackling philosophical issues and because he takes that stance he interprets Dante
differently than Silver does. Though both see Dante s work as philosophical they take differing
stances on certain points and actually tackle the work in two different ways. Silver makes concise
arguments towards Dante trying to deal with the balance between reason and faith. He specifically
talks about, the relation between reasoning well and happiness. Silver uses several different
philosophers to prove his point,

Essay about The Social Security Program
Introduction
Social Security provides for the needs of a country s citizens when they are no longer able to
provide for themselves through gainful employment, is an issue that evokes multiple viewpoints.
Before laying the framework of the argument for meaningful change to social security program, the
program itself must be defined. The Social Security Program is based on the premise during your
productive working years you pay a percentage of your income as a tax into the social security
system, at some point in the future either by retirement or disability you or your beneficiaries
(dependents, children, or survivors) receive monthly benefits; based on your reported earnings

The OASI Trustees 2012 report estimates that an additional 1.75% of payroll tax would fund the
current and future generations benefits at the current level (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The
report further states that a reduction in benefits for future generations, not past or current
generations must also come into effect (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The report however
highlights that an optional additional level of pay in should be created, allowing persons of future
generations who would like to maintain the current benefit level to do so (The Board of Trustees,
2012). The final step to making social security structurally viable is the restructuring of its debt; to
past generations by allocating 2% of current payments towards it exclusively (Gokhale, 2013). With
these changes past, current, and future generations can continue to benefit from social security,
while the program stay s true to its core values of providing persons with the minimum level of
income, when they are no longer capable of working due to their age.
The final structural change that will improve the viability of social security is raising the age
requirement to receive the full benefits of social security. The obvious effects of lifting the age
requirements is the number of payments to individuals is reduced, the number of persons

The fall of Labour Party: the labour government has had a very difficult time leading to the
general elections of 1979. The years between 1976 79 proved to be intense ones, filled with

An Explanation Of The Postal Rule
(1)
The purpose of this essay is to provide an explanation of the postal rule while dealing with
acceptance of an offer, as well as evaluating how effective the postal rule is today. The main body
of this essay will look at what the postal rule while dealing with acceptance of an offer is, as well
as the circumstances surrounding the creation of the postal rule. There will also be an evaluation of
the effectiveness of the postal rule today. This will be summarised with a conclusion.
In most circumstances, the acceptance speaks only once it is received by the offeror. However, as
seen in the case of Adams v Lindsell in 1818, before the rule regarding the communication of
acceptance existed, the postal rule creates a problem as to when the acceptance becomes binding.
In this particular case the Court of King s Bench concluded the contract was formed when the letter
of acceptance was posted on September 5th (Furmston, 2012, p.70).
The decision in Adams v Lindsell did not instantly command uncritical acceptance. In 1880, in
Byrne v Van Tienhoven, Lindley J said It may be taken as now settled that, where an offer is made
and accepted by letters sent through the post, the contract is completed the moment the letter
accepting the offer is posted, even though it never reaches its destination. (Furmston, 2012, p.70).
The postal rule presents a number of questions within the law; such as can acceptance be recalled
before it reaches the offeror? In England, this question has no

Jung
Ellyn Joy V. Pasaporte Carl Jung Until the 1910s, Carl Jung was a follower and close friend of
Freud s. Like Freud, Jung believed that unconscious conflicts are important in shaping personality.
However, he believed the unconscious has two layers: the personal unconscious, which resembled
Freud s idea, and the collective unconscious, which contains universal memories of the common
human past. Jung called these common memories archetypes. Archetypes are images or thoughts
that have the same meaning for all human beings. Jung said that archetypes exist in dreams as well
as in art, literature, and religion across cultures. According to Jung, the ego represents the conscious

Jung called this one of the irrationalfunctions, meaning that it involved perception rather than
judging of information. The second is thinking. Thinking means evaluating information or ideas
rationally, logically. Jung called this a rational function, meaning that it involves decision making or
judging, rather than simple intake of information. The third is intuiting. Intuiting is a kind of
perception that works outside of the usual conscious processes. It is irrational or perceptual, like
sensing, but comes from the complex integration of large amounts of information, rather than
simple seeing or hearing. Jung said it was like seeing around corners. The fourth is feeling.
Feeling, like thinking, is a matter of evaluating information, this time by weighing one s overall,
emotional response. Jung calls it rational, obviously not in the usual sense of the word. On the one
hand, Jung is still attached to his Freudian roots. He emphasizes the unconscious even more than
Freudians do. In fact, he might be seen as the logical extension of Freud s tendency to put the
causes of things into the past. Freud, too, talked about myths Oedipus, for example and how they
impact on the modern psyche. On the other hand, Jung has a lot in common with the neo Freudians,
humanists, and existentialists. He believes that we are meant to progress, to move in a positive
direction, and not just to adapt, as the Freudians and behaviorists would have it. His idea of

The Colors of Life The helpful acronym ROY G. BIV is used to aid in the remembering the
order that the colors appear in the rainbow. Colors are everywhere: the flowers that grow along
the sidewalk, the shirts that we wear, the cars on the road, and the environment around us. Colors
even have the ability to relay information to us, for example, whether it will rain or not based on
the colorof the sky and clouds, no to touch a snake if certain colors touch, or even is someone is

Comparison Of Orlando By Virginia Woolf And The Second Sex
Indroduction People automatically draw a clear borderline in between when hearing the words
men and women. Simone de Beauvoir, in her most well known literature work The Second Sex,
describes them, correlatively, as two types of individuals within a species for the function of
reproduction , but the division of two sexes is not always a clear cut (29). Contradict to common
sense, fixed entities cannot determine given characteristics. This is to say, sex exceeds the
boundary that we normally perceive. This paper aim to analyze the flexibility of sexuality and
the idea of androgyny revealed in two literature works, Orlando by Virginia Woolf, and The

New England Colonies Vs Southern Colonies Essay
Although each of the four colonies is distinct, I think no two are more different than the New
England and Southern Colonies. Each colony developed differently based in large part by the first
people to settle them. Those in the north came to America for religious reasons were those in the
south were more interested in economic interests. Both colonies grew and thrived in unique ways
and helped shape our country to be what it is today.
The first true goal of New England colonists was religious. They were tired of the ceremonial
Church of England so Pilgrims and Puritans worked to recreate society the way they thought god
wanted. After Henry VIII broke with the Catholic Church of Rome the new church was created and
approved by English Parliament. England was divided between English Catholics and the New
Church (Anglicans) and many battles ensued. Queen Elizabeth brought an end to the bloodshed but
many were still angry. Pilgrims and Puritans believed in the teachings of John Calvin who taught
that neither the Catholic or Anglican churches followed god s will. After the demise of Queen
Elizabeth the Stuart Family rose to the throne. The new king and ... Show more content on

Puritans then established an elected legislature and although ministers were prohibited from

Imperialism In Vietnam Essay
The United States stands for liberty and Justice. Yet during the 20th century, this reputation was
greatly damaged. The government began to focus on power and controlling other countries instead.
The United States focus on imperialism is shown by its fight against communism, its use of
propaganda to exaggerate its influence around the world, and its involvement in the Vietnam War.
The Vietnam War was related to America s fear of communism and showed how far the United
Stateswould go to inflict its policy on other nations. During this time the U.S. government did not
consider Vietnam s perspective on the war nor estimate the casualties. The citizens of Vietnam did
not deserve to be plagued by death and destruction, and the U.S. should absolutely never have been

war started from 1954 1975, and was highly destructive. The disagreement of communism led to
many unjustifiable and unpeaceful acts by the U.S. Their involvement made an unnecessarily long
and deadly war where the result was the deaths of thousands of Vietnamese citizens. Many of them
suffered the horrible conditions brought by the battle. America aided South Vietnam against the
communist North Vietnam and its allies known as the Viet Cong. America appeared to be the hero
that was helping, however their involvement was for selfish purposes. The US government s
motive for helping was to support anti communism due to the belief that capitalism was superior in
every way. Military involvements in Vietnam were one of America s many steps in showing other
nations who was superior. The US government also used their powerful military force in many other
conflicts. Abuse of

Muslim Stereotypes Essay
Stereotypes often determine how we see people who are different from us. Stereotypes play
such an important role in our perceptions of others, but what exactly are they? A stereotype is a
widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing
(Williams, 2013). In essence, stereotypes are not limited to different races and ethnicities, but also
include: genders, social classes, cultures and even certain hobbies. In light of the increase of
negative attention that Muslims have been receiving in the media, the stereotypes discussed in this
paper will be centered on Muslims. Specifically, the stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists will
be analyzed. Since Islamis a religion that promotes peace and kindness, one could ask where the
stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists originated. Following the tragedies of September 11,
2001, Arabs and Muslims have been presented as potential terrorists. This idea stemmed from the
theory that, media bias increases when a specific ethnic, religious, or racial group is seen as a
threat to national security. (Stiffler, 2013). Since the attacks on September 11, 2001 Muslims and
Arabs have been hyper visible in the media as potential terrorists. Due to the negative media
attention and failure of most media platforms to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After 9/11 and the subsequent increase in national security, many Muslims, or those who fit the
stereotype of Muslims, have been profiled and randomly selected for screening in airports.
Islamophobia, which is a result of Muslim stereotypes, has also caused many Muslims (and Arabs
that fit the Muslim stereotype) to be faced with racial slurs, threats, physical assault and even
death. This is because most people cannot dissociate the stereotype that Muslims are terrorists from
reality. As a result they lash out at anyone they believe fits the profile of being

The Most Important Contributions Of Scientific Management...
One of the most important activities of human being is managing . The twentieth century saw a rise
of number of new theories in management which gave it a new shape and which are still used in
todays business world. The two main theories were scientific management and the human relation
approach . Scientific managementwas founded by F.W. Taylor which explained the systematic things
of doing things in a cheapest way (Gupta,2016). Scientific managementis the art of knowing exactly
what you want your men to do and then seeing that they do it in the best and cheapest way
(Gupta,2016). The human relationship management was an outcome of the exploits of the
scientific management (Bruce Nyland,2011). Elton mayo noticed the social person and their
centrality in the working environment. Elton mayo s theoryexplained that employees were not only
motivated by the financial reward but also by a range of social factors such as praise and a sense of
belonging.
Everyone may differ in their opinions regarding the significance of theories of management as it is
a subjective opinion and thinking may differ from one individual to another. The employees would
surely prefer human relationship management as it helps to satisfy them socially and increase
productivity by appreciation of work. The employees feel a sense of belonging which keeps them
motivated (mayo,2003). I personally feel that human relationship management can be compared
better to scientific management only on the

The Only Way Out in Richard MillerВґs The Dark Night of the...
Richard E. Miller, the author of The Dark Night of the Soul, is an English professor/executive
director of the Plan genre Writing Center at Rutgers University. He studies the English curriculum
in the U.S and questions if it is successful or a dying art. This is evident in The Dark night of the
Soul, It can be quite a shock to confront the possibility that reading, writing, and talking exercise
almost none of the powers we regularly attribute to them in our favorite stories. The dark night of
the soul for literacy workers comes with the realization that training students to read, write, and talk
in more critical and self reflective ways cannot protect them from the violent changes our culture is
undergoing. Miller through out the essay... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John. Miller though says that one can face their dark night of their soul by using the art of
writing. To write by virtue of their deep insights into the human spirit; that a world filled with
artistic creations is superior to one filled with the cast offs of the consumer culture; that writing
provides access to immortality. Joining the Liars Club is a perfect example of someone using
writing to face their past, their darkest part of their soul. Writing, as she uses it, is a hermeneutic
practice that involves witnessing the mundane horrors of the past in order to make peace with
that past , states Miller. The Dark night of one s soul is a personal fear, past, journey that in the
end you reach a sense of peace. The book A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer is an exquisite book.
It is Mr. Pelzers way of dealing with the dark night of his soul. He tells his journey through
extreme child abuse, and how he overcame his past and now uses it for good. When I was
younger and going through a rough time I picked up this book and read it in one day, I was
overwhelmed with the fact that someone made it out of all that ,this great man did and he still
continued to have a positive attitude. Seeing that he could face his past, now as an adult I know I
can face mine. As I read his story tears poured down my face

The Birth of the Swatch
Case Analysis: The success of Switzerland Company named Swatch owned by Societe Suisse de
Microelectronique et d Horlogerie (SMH) is a perfect example of a successful brand and product
management. Their success was based on the fact that Swatch had completely excelled in each and
every step of developing and executing its outstanding marketingstrategy. In early 80 s the biggest
problem for the Swiss watch industry was the rapid growth of quartz technology which changed the
rules of the game. Low cost watches created a new product and market segment. Unluckily the
Switzerland companies didn t respond to this new threat due to their arrogance. They thought that
quartz watches were unreliable, unsophisticated and beneath Swiss quality... Show more content on

They decided to avoid the expensive jewelry stores and watch shops favored by most of
competitors. Instead the company adopted an unconventional retail approach. They preferred to
keep their watches out of the jewelry displays where other watches were sold. Instead they created
non traditional mini boutiques and freestanding mono brand Swatch stores with latest designs
located in exclusive and high fashion districts. By doing this they showed understanding of their
consumer insight; they avoided direct competition with others at the same places; finally, created
their brand image separately from the rest of competitors. Different way of distribution and
branding process successfully reinforced their differentiation. In promotion, Swatch was also very
successful and did something like no other. It spent about 30% of product retail price on
advertising, more than double the industry average. They tried to reach their target audience
directly and let them be closer to the product experience of funny, fanciful and joy of life. Swatch
did these like no other creating impressive activities and radical promotional stunts through
untraditional approach, such as hanging the giant Swatch outside the tallest skyscraper in Frankfurt
on the day they launched the product in Germany, they were also the main sponsors of the break
dance competitions and they acquired the celebrity endorsement. Swatch also utilized the Swiss
watch heritage by smartly

How To Build My Own Computer
So, over the summer I built my main computer from scratch. I bought hardware such as a Ryzen
1700X CPU (Central Processing Unit), 16 GB (Gigabytes) of Crucial Ballistics 2666 MHz DDR4
RAM (Random Access Memory), a Gigabyte GA Gaming 5 Motherboard, a 500 GB Samsung 850

(Graphics Processing Unit), a NZXT S340 Elite case, 2x NZXT RGB 120mm fans and a Hue +,
and a NZXT Kraken x42 AIO (All In One) Liquid cooler. First, I set the CPU in the AM4 Socket
on the MoBo (Motherboard) and installed the RAM into socket 1 and socket 3 (Running the RAM
in dual channel on a Ryzen system allows the computerto work much faster than running them in
single channel). Next, I installed the AIO cooler to the build and the PSU so that I could start a

Challenges Facing Urban Sprawl And Inner City Poverty
voice of the people and leaves staff and administration struggling to find suitable solutions in a fixed
budget.
Public choice theory supports the theory that fragmented municipal structures generate savings
because they allow individuals to make their own choices about services and taxes (L.G.C, pg.
155). This can lead to greater issues of urban sprawl and inner city poverty as the larger municipality
becomes more fragmented.
Key Purpose: Equity
When examining equity and equality in a fragmented municipal structure, serious concerns can be
raised in regards to inequalities to income, economic opportunity and quality of life (L.G.C, pg.
161). It is sadly ironic that suburb residents avoid the social costs of the inner city, but yet, the inner
city residents are subsidizing the expensive projects in the suburbs like infrastructure and water
/sewer lines (L.G.C, pg. 161).
Solutions for equity issues can be successfully addressed in other ways than restructuring. Issues
such as spillover overs and externalities are often amplified when urban and rural municipalities
with varying service standards are brought together. Vojinovic emphasizes that if the different levels
of services among merging municipalities is not recognized and built into the tax structure,
externalities can result in residents businesses can be paying for services that do not benefit them
(L.G.C, pg. 163).
Conflict
A disadvantage to amalgamation is inter municipal disagreements and turf wars

Haitian Bridge Scenario
SCENARIO The French government had donated that bridge to help the Haitian people. As I
stated before, this kind of bridge must not stay on the terrain for a long time. This time would be
different due to the peculiar situation of those villages. The cities of Dondon and San Rafael used
the former bridgefor many purposes like to take children to school, go to the doctor appointments
and day by day displacements. The old bridge had fallen three years ago during a tropical storm.
Since that day, people used a ford path in the river to cross. They really needed that bridge.
PUTTING THE PLAN IN PRACTICE
Finally, our platoon arrived at the bridge place. Already on arrival, we realized the first problem.
The road that led to the bridge was very narrow. This greatly hindered the way that we had to put
our bridge material on the ground. Looking around us, we realized we had a solution. There was a
private land next to the perfect installation location to accommodate all material. I shifted up to the
residence with our sergeant who was a French interpreter. I knocked in her door and my partner
explained the entire situation. She listened us ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Army was doing the safety of the work site. A large number of curious Haitians surrounded the
place trying not to miss any detail of the work. Our stuff was widespread, impairing the smooth
progress of work. Despite all this, we were all motivated and glad to help those people. We had a
hard work long day. In the end of day, we were exhausted. Next morning everything would start
again. The place we were was quite away from the city. Because of that, there was no internet signal
available. We would be nearly 15 days without contact with our families. Looking to the bright side
of it was the opportunity to spend time together exchanging

Scapegoats In The Crucible
In the play The Crucible, the use of scapegoats is rampant; the main use being to place blame
onto others in order to deflect blame from themselves or to help reach a goal. Those that don t
agree with the majority or have differing ideas are outcasts and easily made scapegoats. Many of
the scapegoats in the play can attribute the blame they receive to the antagonist, Abigail
Williams. Three primary examples of people that are scapegoats because of Abigail are, the
Parris servant Tituba, the Proctor s servant Mary Warren, and Elizabeth Proctor the wife of
Abigail s past infatuation. At the start of the play Abigail faces accusations from Parris and
Reverend Hale of dancing in the woods. Knowing that dancing in the woods is a very critical

Throughout the play we see instances where Abigail shows she still has feelings for John saying
things like Give me a word, John. A soft word. , but she is only met with rejection from John No,
no, Abby. That s done with. . (Miller 22) as he has moved on and is trying to live a more
righteous life. Even though John has made his intentions clear Abby continuously attempts to
sway him ...do you tell me you ve never looked up at my window? (Miller 23) believing he will
still come back to her. After still facing rejection from John, Abigail believes the only reason he
denies her is because of his wife. Knowing that she has the power to condemn people by accusing
them of witchcraft, Abigail decides that it is the only option she has to be with John. As time
goes on the Proctor family is torn apart when Cheever, a clerk of the court, comes with a warrant
for Elizabeth. The Proctor s find out the reason for the arrest is because of attempted murder
through the use of witchcraft. It is to our understanding that a poppet that is in the possession of
Elizabeth, given to her by their servant, Mary, was used to attempt to murder Abigail . As the
situation goes on we discover the entire ordeal was an elaborate plan by Abigail when Mary
says ...she saw me sewin it in court. Or better still: Ask Abby, Abby sat beside me when I made
it. revealing that it was a plan by Abigail. Abigail saw Mary making a poppet for Elizabeth and
came to the realization that it would probably be her best chance to get Elizabeth out of the
picture. By placing blame on Elizabeth, Abigail is able to further her own personal goal of being

Why Is Algebra Important
Algebra
When I decided to return to school to get my degree I did not think that much about which
courses I would be required to take. I knew there were basic classes such as English, Science,
History and Math, and then the courses that would be required for my degree. I knew I would
be taking Algebra at some point but was not expecting it to be so early on. I am not sure I see a
lot of need for Algebra itself in Human Resources, but I do know that I need it to graduate. I do
not feel I am being forced to take Algebra, it is just another required course, like Intro to
Computers, or Student Success, or English. Math has never been my favorite subject, but more out
of fear of not being able to figure all the problems out, than just a general dislike for the subject.
When I hear the term liberal arts, I think of general education classes not degree specific classes. A
liberal arts degree gives students an education in all the major areas of study such as History,
English, Math, Science and the Arts. Students with degrees in the liberal arts can find
employment in a lot of job fields, as they are educated in various areas. STEM, or Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math degrees and programs are popular today with the rise of... Show

earn a higher education degree to help with a career change or even for a feeling of personal

Coma Berenices Myth
Coma Berenices is an unusual constellation with an even more unusual story to accompany it.
Most other constellations detail important myths, stories and legends from different cultures,
This one is in the sky because someone liked long hair enough to steal it from a temple. it was
first documented officially as a separate constellation in 1536. Before this, the stars in Coma
Berenices had been considered part of Leo, the tail. There were four queen Bernice s in Egypt,

The old man was lamenting to his son the fact that he had lost all his hair, which, in the days of
his youth, had been the envy of all the other young men. (And some women, although he was not
aware of that). The son, who had heard the story many times before, had turned his attention to
the night sky. As his father was going on and on about the color his hair had been, (a beautiful
golden blond), the son had an idea. Father he said, pointing up to the sky, do you see that cluster
of stars up there, just beyond the lion? The father studied the sky for a moment, then nodded.
The son continued, Does it not look like your hair did, in the days of your youth? The father
studied the sky again for a minute or two then nodded again. Well, the son continued, if the sky
shows your hair then you will not need to describe it any more, as it is forever immortalized in
the sky, your gift to humanity. The father turned to his son with tears in his eyes, and gave the lad
a giant hug, thanking him for giving him his hair back. There on the road, the father and son had a
tearful celebration of their own, albeit for different reasons. Unbeknownst to them, a traveling
minstrel had heard the entire exchange, and had collapsed from laughter. The minstrel waisted no

This tribe usually stays in both east and west of the Rocky Mountains. Shoshones are very diverse, some Shoshones live west of the Rockies in roofless grass huts. In order for them not to starve, they would hunt fish, birds, and rabbits. Other Shoshones also lived in east and north, these Shoshones lived in tepees and they hunted buffalo. These buffalo hunters are known as the lemhi Shoshones. Lemhi Shoshones lived on the plains what is now Montana. They had brave men members, they grew poor and hungry over time. As a buyer, what can you do? a.You can elect to rewrite the purchase description in more detail and have it reviewed in house for feedback. b.Or if circumstances permit, invite interested offerors who reply to the initial solicitation, to an oral presentation of the offer and clarify any issues before requesting official bids or proposals. This can be a video conference or a personal meeting. 2. You are also concerned that the Governmentdid not obtain the greatest possible discount on sales over 1,000 total units. What factors do you think affect this difference? a.Washington Central knew they did not meet the award criteria with 2 instructors having no masters degree and was hoping the low bid would compensate. Also engineers with bachelors command less compensation that engineers with masters. b.All their trainers were permanent employees working in DC and its possible that if they did not get this contract they may become idle resources on the payroll. 3.The proposal of Washington Independents is $39,286 less than the Government estimate. What factors do you think affect this difference? The government may have estimated significant travel and lodging expenses for the instructors. But the instructors at Washington Independents were all within 15 miles of each training location. This significantly reduced travel expense e.g rental cars, airfares, and possibly eliminated additional lodging expenses e.g hotels. 4. Los Angeles Quality has the highest proposed price. What factors do you think affect this difference? The 11 instructors that need to travel from LA to DC is a significant factor affecting the price. The main price difference was the LA estimate to provide training at the Washington DC location. Los Angeles proposed prices for all training locations were on target or very close within $2,000.00 of the government estimates; except for Washington, DC location where there was a ... • 4. Dust Tracks Dust Tracks on a Road Hurston s Dust Tracks on a Road depicts the struggle and journey of growing up in a predominately African American society. She displays how African Americans were curtailed to nothing after the Civil War and how it was quite difficult to commence a town on their own of there own race. Her autobiography entails the very candid moments of the Harlem Renaissance. As the novel is exposed in the opening chapter the subject matter is revealed and it entails Zora Neale Hurstons life. So you will have to know something about the time and place where I came from, in order that you may interpret the incidents and directions of my life (Hurston 1). This could potentially be the vacuum or circuit in Hurston s life that attested for her fame in the Harlem Renaissance. The war generals were also very significant people in the development of Eatonville and neighboring towns. Now, these founders were, to a man, people who had risked their lives and fortunes that Negroes might be free. Those who had fought in the ranks had thrown their weight behind the cause of Emancipation (5). This demonstration of leadership and uncertainty are characteristics that Hurston posses. So, in a raw, bustling frontier, the experiment of self government for Negroes was tried. White Maitland and Negro Eatonville have lived side by side for fifty five years without a single instance of enmity. The spirit of the founders ha reached beyond the grave (6). Hurston s opening exposition reveals only partial of what could be the remaining events in the novel. However they do parallel with the theme of an individual versus society. This being said because she has become a product of her environment and her environment has shaped her in many ways as a writer. She was fortunate enough to grow up in a very influential area. She prepares the reader for potential conflict with her environment because her environment is so historic and classic. This usually results in amending one s behavior or having to comply with the rules of society. But by having read other novels by Hurston one knows that she is not one to agree in compliance and ... • 5. A Comparison For Variable Cost And Absorption Costing I have attached an analysis for your review. This analysis reflects a comparison for Variable Cost and Absorption costing using Sales:60,000 units Production:80,000 units Ending Inventory:20,000 units Based on these analyses I have made several recommendations along with pros and cons to aid in the decision making process. I recommend that we use absorption costing over variable costing. Absorption costing is a method where ...fixed manufacturing costs are inventoriable costs (Datar, et al, 2009). That is, inventory absorbs all manufacturing costs. In the absorption metho there does not need to be a distinction between fixe and variable costs. Per the analyses performed on the attached spreadsheets one can see that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We should experience some of the following positives after implementing JIT: Supply Chain Management: The JIT inventory model may assist in being more efficient in the way we handle supply chains and use our parts to assemble products. We can provide lower costs throughout the manufacturing process; which can be passed on to our customers. With our lower costs, we could produce a more affordable product for our customers and thereby help to stay ahead of our competitors. Reduction of Waste: By maintaining our current method we are housing products that go unused and/or become obsolete. This causes us to sell product at a reduced price often less than cost or we must dump the product with no money gained at all. The JIT inventory model should help to address this situation and by housing fewer products in the warehouses we could address our customer needs quicker and be open to customized orders. Reduction in Warehouse Costs: It can be costly to keep excess inventory on hand. By moving to JIT we may be able to reduce the number of warehouses we currently have as well as eliminate excess storage. Improved Customer Relations: Adopting the JIT model will allow for better servicing of our customers. Having greater control of the manufacturing process will make it easier to respond to our customers needs and any changes they may have or require. While I have high lited the positives above we must also consider possible negative aspects. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Homosexuality in the Film Latter Days and in Sexual... From the assigned readings and film, I felt that I have gained a better understanding on one of the most controversial types of relationships, homosexuality. The topic of homosexuality isn t easy to openly talk about but it is important as philosophy students, to have an open mind about topics that we don t partake in. Doing so allows us to promote new ways of thinking about the world around us and see them in a whole new light. In this personal response paper, I will discuss homosexualityin connection with the film Latter Days to determine why a homosexual relationship can meet Kant s criteria for acceptable love as mentioned in Ruse s essay, Is Homosexuality Bad Sexuality? , as well as why it qualifies as a complete and healthy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the utilitarian approach, one is allowed to inflict harm on another for the sake of happiness or the benefit of others (Ruse, 1995, pg.114). Basically, there are no immoral acts to the utilitarian. Bentham believed that it is acceptable for anyone who wants to indulge that it produces no harm but pleasure. Thus, homosexuality is not immoral. In the end, having the basic understanding of the different ethical frameworks helped explain the reasons for why these people thought the way they did and how it influenced and shaped their views on topics such as homosexuality but that is not the focus of this paper. To put things into perspective, I will illustrate how the relationship that develops in the film Latter Days (Cox, 2003) can meet Kant s criteria for acceptable love. The film revolves around the development of a homosexual relationship between Aaron, a closeted Mormon missionary, and his openly gay neighbor, Christian. After some initial resistance, Aaron slowly but surely begins to grow fond of Christian and discovers his homosexuality in the process. Meanwhile, what started out as a simple bet turns into something more as Christian also discovers something that was missing in his own life true love. In the beginning, Christian would have casual flings with men he didn t even know. There was no mutual love between them. It was all about the sex and he didn t even remember their names. ... • 7. Comparing The Morgentaler Case Of 1993 And The Smolig And... In chapter one, the difference between the three types of crimes in Canada were discussed: summary, indictable, and hybrid offences. Summary offences take place in provincial/territorial court, and and the maximum penalty fine is six months in prison, five thousand dollars, or both. An example of a summary offenceis soliciting in a public place, or carrying a weapon while attending a public meeting. An indictable offence is one that is much more severe. The sentences given are much more serious. Crimesconsidered an indictable offence include manslaughter, robbery, and aggravated sexual assault. A hybrid/dual offence could include sexual assault, theft under five thousand dollars, or unlawful imprisonment. The Morgentaler case of 1993 and the Smolig and Scott case of 1988 were cases that would have a very impactful ruling. The supreme court of Canada decided that section 287 of the criminal code infringed the rights of section 7 in the charter of rights and freedoms. Section 7 states that Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice. (Constitution Acts, 1867 to 1982) This declared that abortion could ne longer be considered a criminal offence because it was unconstitutional and violated one s rights under section 7. His habits were my habits, from making up stories, to holding conversations with my imaginary friend. The photo taken was the hand of his wife, Bertha. On the photo you can see a clear view of her hand through the flesh and bone. The first human X ray was an amazing discovery. Numerous people including scientists, and inventors were so fascinated by the discovery that they started to experiment with cathode tube rays. But even so, x rays have made many contributions to the world from industrial purposes before medical purposes. Physicians used x rays for medical related injuries and they have progressed into new technology such as smaller machines and better quality of photographs. X rays in the 1800 were used for industrial purposes, for an industrial (not medical) application (NDT Resource Center). In 1913, X ray tubes were changed when William Coolidge designed a high vacuum (NDT). The vacuum tubes were a reliable source and operated up to 100,000 volts of energy (NDT). In 1922, the industrial radiography moved forward. 200,000 volts of X raytubes that produced thick steel parts were manufactured in a little amount of time (NDT). In 1931, volt X rays moved up to 1,000,000, the generators helped the industrial radiography with an intense and useful tool (NDT). • 16. Online Learning And E Learning Chapter 2: Literature Review {Insert Intro Text about Literature Review} 2.1 Online Learning Ever since the computer evolution the way people learn has changed. Back in the day the major idea of learning was limited to a physical classroom environment, but since the advent of computers and the Internet that idea has since changed. Now it is possible to learn anywhere at anytime as long as one has a computing device and Internet access. There is usually confusion between Online Learning and E learning, as people tend to use the two interchangeably in some cases. E learning otherwise known as Electronic Learning, is a term used to characterize a learning endeavor carried out on an electronic device. E learning does not necessarily mean that the learning material is accessible online, it can also come in different forms like an educational CD ROM commonly found at the back of some textbooks or material than can only be accessed on a campus intranet. Online learning on the other hand is an educational endeavor that can only be primarily accessed while on the Internet. Pop (2016) defined E Learning as the appropriate use of ICT to enhance the learning and can thus take place on campus or in any other context , while defining Online Learning as A term describing learning that takes place online and thus requires connection to the Internet . In summary, Online Learning is a form of E Learning that is done on the Internet. 2.2 Learning Web Development Over the last decade ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In season six episode ten of Bones, the FBI and the scientists from the Jeffersonian Institute investigate a murder of set of remains found in a hot, running shower. Although the information is accurate, her statement was premature. When identifying the age and sex portion of the biological profile, Forensic Anthropologists often look at multiple indicators before making a decision. This is due to the range in features the bones can display. For example, a 90В° angle of the mandible is a trait congruent in males, however it is not exclusive. Different parts of the skeleton also display a range of indicators in regard to the age of the individual. Age is measured by the amount of growth or degeneration the remains have experienced. Usually, degeneration correlates with older age, however the nutrition and habits of the individual can speed up the process. For example, a young but fully developed female runner may not show much signs of degeneration in her upper extremities as she does on her lower extremities, specifically her knee joints. If anthropologists were to look only at the individual s knees, they would most likely estimate a much older age. In order for Dr. Brennan to accurate, the skeleton should have been further evaluated to conclusively state the sex and age of the biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When organizations are in the process of changing, an organizational redesign is in the works. The purpose of this assignment is to discuss redesign challenges that Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) faces during its redesign phase of organizational change. Fundamentals of Organizational Redesign Organizational redesign is the process in which changing an organization s informal design is due to shifting dynamics in the organization s environment (Spector, 2013, p. 78). This happens for a variety of reasons, and an organization should strategically consider both the internal and external environment for causes in the dynamic shift. Organizational redesign does not just effect policy and process development, but also the behaviors and norms of the organizational culture. One reason for leaders of an organization to consider an organizational redesign is financial status of the organization. This is the case for CHCCW. CHCCW has been in the process of an organizational redesign for lack of financial sustainability, along with improving the cultural and morale of the organization for the past couple of years. The dams where causing a buildup of toxic algae which made the Klamath un safe to swim in. This effected the tribes more than most as they use the river in their ceremonies. The Divine Comedy was written during Dante s exile from his beloved city of Florence Italy. The work itself is read at various different levels. One could read it as a theological work, a political work, simply as a poetic work, or even as a philosophical work. In his work, Dante s Paradiso: No Human Beings Allowed philosophy professor Bruce Silver argues that, Dante is not a philosopher, instead he just deals with philosophical issues, including the relation between reasoning well and happiness. Dr. Jason Aleksander, the philosophy department chair at Saint Xavier s University, would disagree, stating, In short, for Dante, wisdom, the body of philosophy, results from the proper ordering of earthly desires or, in other words, from the order among the moral virtues. Aleksander sees Dante as a philosopher tackling philosophical issues and because he takes that stance he interprets Dante differently than Silver does. Though both see Dante s work as philosophical they take differing stances on certain points and actually tackle the work in two different ways. The report however highlights that an optional additional level of pay in should be created, allowing persons of future generations who would like to maintain the current benefit level to do so (The Board of Trustees, 2012). The final step to making social security structurally viable is the restructuring of its debt; to past generations by allocating 2% of current payments towards it exclusively (Gokhale, 2013). An Explanation Of The Postal Rule (1) The purpose of this essay is to provide an explanation of the postal rule while dealing with acceptance of an offer, as well as evaluating how effective the postal rule is today. The main body of this essay will look at what the postal rule while dealing with acceptance of an offer is, as well as the circumstances surrounding the creation of the postal rule. There will also be an evaluation of the effectiveness of the postal rule today. This will be summarised with a conclusion. In most circumstances, the acceptance speaks only once it is received by the offeror. However, as seen in the case of Adams v Lindsell in 1818, before the rule regarding the communication of acceptance existed, the postal rule creates a problem as to when the acceptance becomes binding. In this particular case the Court of King s Bench concluded the contract was formed when the letter of acceptance was posted on September 5th (Furmston, 2012, p.70). The decision in Adams v Lindsell did not instantly command uncritical acceptance. In 1880, in Byrne v Van Tienhoven, Lindley J said It may be taken as now settled that, where an offer is made and accepted by letters sent through the post, the contract is completed the moment the letter accepting the offer is posted, even though it never reaches its destination. (Furmston, 2012, p.70). The postal rule presents a number of questions within the law; such as can acceptance be recalled before it reaches the offeror? In England, this question has no ... Intuiting is a kind of perception that works outside of the usual conscious processes. It is irrational or perceptual, like sensing, but comes from the complex integration of large amounts of information, rather than simple seeing or hearing. Jung said it was like seeing around corners. The fourth is feeling. Feeling, like thinking, is a matter of evaluating information, this time by weighing one s overall, emotional response. In fact, he might be seen as the logical extension of Freud s tendency to put the causes of things into the past. Freud, too, talked about myths Oedipus, for example and how they impact on the modern psyche. On the other hand, Jung has a lot in common with the neo Freudians, humanists, and existentialists. • 36. Comparison Of Orlando By Virginia Woolf And The Second Sex Indroduction People automatically draw a clear borderline in between when hearing the words men and women. Simone de Beauvoir, in her most well known literature work The Second Sex, describes them, correlatively, as two types of individuals within a species for the function of reproduction , but the division of two sexes is not always a clear cut (29). Contradict to common sense, fixed entities cannot determine given characteristics. This is to say, sex exceeds the boundary that we normally perceive. This paper aim to analyze the flexibility of sexuality and the idea of androgyny revealed in two literature works, Orlando by Virginia Woolf, and The Twyborn Affair by Patrick White, the connections with the notion of otherness, and the reflections of reality within the two works. Each colony developed differently based in large part by the first people to settle them. Those in the north came to America for religious reasons were those in the south were more interested in economic interests. Both colonies grew and thrived in unique ways and helped shape our country to be what it is today. The first true goal of New England colonists was religious. They were tired of the ceremonial Church of England so Pilgrims and Puritans worked to recreate society the way they thought god wanted. After Henry VIII broke with the Catholic Church of Rome the new church was created and approved by English Parliament. England was divided between English Catholics and the New Church (Anglicans) and many battles ensued. Queen Elizabeth brought an end to the bloodshed but many were still angry. The government began to focus on power and controlling other countries instead. The United States focus on imperialism is shown by its fight against communism, its use of propaganda to exaggerate its influence around the world, and its involvement in the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War was related to America s fear of communism and showed how far the United Stateswould go to inflict its policy on other nations. During this time the U.S. government did not consider Vietnam s perspective on the war nor estimate the casualties. Stereotypes play such an important role in our perceptions of others, but what exactly are they? A stereotype is a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing (Williams, 2013). In essence, stereotypes are not limited to different races and ethnicities, but also include: genders, social classes, cultures and even certain hobbies. In light of the increase of negative attention that Muslims have been receiving in the media, the stereotypes discussed in this paper will be centered on Muslims. Specifically, the stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists will be analyzed. Since Islamis a religion that promotes peace and kindness, one could ask where the stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists originated. Following the tragedies of September 11, 2001, Arabs and Muslims have been presented as potential terrorists. This idea stemmed from the theory that, media bias increases when a specific ethnic, religious, or racial group is seen as a threat to national security. (Stiffler, 2013). The twentieth century saw a rise of number of new theories in management which gave it a new shape and which are still used in todays business world. The two main theories were scientific management and the human relation approach . Scientific managementwas founded by F.W. Taylor which explained the systematic things of doing things in a cheapest way (Gupta,2016). Scientific managementis the art of knowing exactly what you want your men to do and then seeing that they do it in the best and cheapest way (Gupta,2016). The human relationship management was an outcome of the exploits of the scientific management (Bruce Nyland,2011). Elton mayo noticed the social person and their centrality in the working environment. Elton mayo s theoryexplained that employees were not only motivated by the financial reward but also by a range of social factors such as praise and a sense of belonging. Everyone may differ in their opinions regarding the significance of theories of management as it is a subjective opinion and thinking may differ from one individual to another. The employees would surely prefer human relationship management as it helps to satisfy them socially and increase productivity by appreciation of work. • 47. Challenges Facing Urban Sprawl And Inner City Poverty voice of the people and leaves staff and administration struggling to find suitable solutions in a fixed budget. Public choice theory supports the theory that fragmented municipal structures generate savings because they allow individuals to make their own choices about services and taxes (L.G.C, pg. 155). This can lead to greater issues of urban sprawl and inner city poverty as the larger municipality becomes more fragmented. Key Purpose: Equity When examining equity and equality in a fragmented municipal structure, serious concerns can be raised in regards to inequalities to income, economic opportunity and quality of life (L.G.C, pg. 161). It is sadly ironic that suburb residents avoid the social costs of the inner city, but yet, the inner city residents are subsidizing the expensive projects in the suburbs like infrastructure and water /sewer lines (L.G.C, pg. 161). Solutions for equity issues can be successfully addressed in other ways than restructuring. Issues such as spillover overs and externalities are often amplified when urban and rural municipalities with varying service standards are brought together. Vojinovic emphasizes that if the different levels of services among merging municipalities is not recognized and built into the tax structure, externalities can result in residents businesses can be paying for services that do not benefit them (L.G.C, pg. 163).
