The talk on Friday was given by Brittani Orana who is a Hupa tribal member and the curator of
the exhibit. The exhibit is a tribute to the struggles that the tribes of the Klamath river have been
thru and also serves to show that their culture and practices still live on today. The exhibit
included historical and modern photos as well painting and posters from the protest for dam
removal. The exhibit is full of item representing the memories of tribal members and the hardships

These challenges include dangerously low water levels to do diversion for farming and
overheated water. These things where both cause by the dams on the Klamath. These factors
were part of what caused the fish kill in 2002. Klamath was also polluted from the dams and was
causing the tribes to get sick. The dams where causing a buildup of toxic algae which made the
Klamath un safe to swim in. This effected the tribes more than most as they use the river in their
