Presented by Jimmy Floyd With all our orchestration, transformation and business rules buried in java code it was becoming time consuming to understand how our systems operated, bring new hires up to speed and answer use case questions. Due to the complexity of our business rules and the general mistakes that naturally take place in human communication, it was time consuming and error prone to translate information from the product owners to developers and vice versa. In this brief talk, I will demonstrate how 24 Hour Fitness is using Camunda to overcome this problem.

Where are we now

We are currently using Camunda as an integration framework with SOAP and Rest based services. Each process
represents a function and then we piece the functions together to meet a business objective.
The following are the bases for our integrations
• A process to represent a connector to the different specific system.
• A sent on common reusable processes for basic functionality.
– Connection pooling
– XML translations
– JSON translations
– And more
• A set of common processes for specific business functionality. (like get member details)
• High level business processes that uses our common processes and are exposed for outside consumption through
SOAP. Rest or JMS.
