2. Auto and Manual Camera Image
From these two similar images we can tell the differences as the camera
options are changed from automatic to manual. When a camera is put
into automatic there is a massive difference as the colour of the image is
chosen by the camera itself, on the other hand manual is all down to you
and how you want the picture to come out E.G if you want more light you
would manually increase it by selecting different settings on the camera.
Manual lets you select the image colour you prefer, manual is down to
your own preference. However automatic just does everything for you, it
sets the picture most appropriate for the location.
This image here is a better picture than the auto
one as it was taken on manual settings, this
means that the image was slyly self edited by the
photographer before taken. This was done by
just manually adjusting the settings on the
camera itself.
The picture taken here was taken in
automatic mode and we can clearly see
that the lighting is too much however we
cant adjust it as its on automatic mode,
to adjust the brightness we will have to
retake it on manual.

4. Smart Phone Cameras
Smartphones over the years
keep getting better and
better, apple and other
mobile device developers
have also increased the
camera quality and added
complex settings to make
the picture advanced.
This option here is to
flip the camera from
front to back.
This setting here is a timer, you can click on
it and it will give you options (3 seconds, 5
seconds, 10 seconds) if you choose one it
takes the picture when the timer ends.
HDR makes the picture taken more
clearer and makes us more able to
see the smallest detail.
This lighting bolt sign is for the flash, most of the time the flash is on
auto. This means that the flash will be used when it needs to be used for
example in a dark area it will be on, if it’s a bright clear place it will be
off, however it can also be manually adjusted to on or off.

5. Capturing images
• Viewfinder – A viewfinder in photography is what the photographer looks through to take the picture. When
using the viewfinder you can see exactly what the naked eyes see so therefore you are visible to see things that the
little screen cant.

8. Aperture
• In photography and digital photography,
aperture is the unit of measurement that defines
the size of the opening in the lens that can be
adjusted to control the amount of light reaching
the film or digital sensor. The size of the

9. shutter
• Simply put, a camera shutter is a curtain
in front of the camera sensor that stays
closed until the camera fires. When the
camera fires, the shutter opens and fully
exposes the camera sensor to the light
that passes through the lens aperture

• Most SD cards you'll find today are technically

Hand held filming is a technique in
which the camera Is being operated
by the person in control.

Tripods are used to hold a camera in a
specific place where its unable to move
or wobble.

14. JPEG VS Raw
• When shooting in a format like JPEG
image information is compressed and lost.
Because no information is compressed with
RAW you're able to produce higher quality
images, as well as correct problem images
that would be unrecoverable if shot in the
JPEG format.
