Polypharmacy
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, Polypharmacy is defined as the practice of
administering or using multiple medications especially concurrently, as in the treatment of a
single disease or several other conditions (2014). Polypharmacy can be considered as the use of
six to nine different medications, and excessive polypharmacy is studied as the use of ten or more
medications (Jyrkka et al., 2009). Emergency department visits, hospital readmissions, and death in
the elderly are greatly associated with polypharmacy (Slabaugh et al., 2010). When the word
polypharmacy is used, many healthcare professionals may often think of its relativeness to geriatric
individuals. Since elderly people are more susceptible to developing problematic... Show more

It has led to an increase of emergency department visits, hospital readmissions, and even death in
the elderly. According to the Nursing Manual of the Saskatoon Health Region, there are policies to
provide correct medication administration to ensure patient safety when preparing and
administering all medications (2014). For this to be successful, all health care professionals must
understand the reason for the medication being given, the therapeutic effect, any side/adverse
effects, and assessments to be completed prior to administration (2014). The Saskatoon Health
Region also states that if sending medications home with the patient, ensure the patient understands
how and when the medication is to be taken (2014). As stated above, this was one reason for
polypharmacy in the geriatric population to have harmful outcomes. It is the responsibility of the
health care provider to educate the patient with proper medication teaching (indications of the
medication, proper dosage, and any adverse effects that could occur). If all of these aspects were
performed and shared with the patient, it could drastically decrease the negative effects of

Compare And Contrast Reagan And Gorbachev
Reagan s foreign policy made interacting with the Soviet Union easier. The purpose to the foreign
policy is to ensure the safety and security of the United States. The foreign policy also promotes
world peace; without the foreign policy everything would be chaotic. The foreign policy confirms
that together we are maintaining a balance of power amongst nations. There were many Soviet
Unionleaders but one that really stood out was Mikhail Gorbachev, an energetic 54 year old,
Andropov s apprentice with a new and interesting mind who recognized that the Soviet economy
could not survive without serious good changes. He also hoped for better superpower relations.
Superpower relations continued to improve during Reagan s final year in office. While... Show

Mikhail Gorbachev believed a less irritating Soviet American relationship would permit a change
of money and valuable supplies away from the Soviet military toward the suffering economy. In
November 1985, Reagan and Gorbachev met for the first time in Geneva; they held added/more
summits in each of Ronald Reagans years in presidency. Reagan and Gorbachev argued freely but
also developed a mutual relationship that had its advantages. In December 1988, at the very end
of Reagan s presidency, Gorbachev announced in an address to the United Nations in Washington
that he would unilaterally reduce Soviet military forces in Eastern Europe by 500,000 soldiers and
10,000 tanks over the next two years. Reagans association with Mikhail Gorbachev made it less
demanding for both the Soviet Union and the United States to put a conclusion to the Cold war.
Regan endeavored getting on the Soviet Union s good side, so he can crumple the Soviets without
them even knowing. Early in President Reagan s second term, a reform minded pioneer, Mikhail
Gorbachev, accepted power in the Soviet Union. Like past presidents, Ronald Reagan decided to

Physics Of Kinetic Energy And Stopping Distance
Newton s law of inertia states that an object in motion will stay in motion until an equal and
opposite force stops it. In a collision, a driver s car is stopped by another object (Ex: another car,
a tree, a lamp post). Anything not attached to the car will continue to move forward because they
are not stopped by the force that halted the car. Therefore a person who is not wearing a seatbelt
during a collision would fly to the front of the car until they hit something (Ex: the dashboard, the
wheel, a car seat). The stopping distance of the vehicle going 60 mph would be four times greater
than that of the vehicle going 30 mph. This is because kinetic energyincreases exponentially along
with velocity. From my prior knowledge in physics, I know that the formula for... Show more

Mass, kinetic energy, and stopping distance have a direct relationship so if the mass of the
vehicle goes up, the kinetic energy increases, and so does the braking distance. This can be
proven by the equation KE= 1/2mv2, as mention in the answer to the previous question.
Assuming the vehicles velocities are the same, mass is directly correlated to kinetic energy.
Kinetic energy and stopping distance have a direct relationship, as explained in the previous
answer. To prepare to enter sharp curves, a driver should slow down. Lowering the velocity of a
car decreases the kinetic energy in the car. This means the braking distance would be shorter
since there is less kinetic energy to convert. Drivers that travel at a slower speed and have a
short braking distance can pass through sharp curves easier because they have more control over
the vehicle and can stop if the vehicle gets too close to the edge of the road.A reason why car
crashes have different levels of injuries is that the force of impact varies in distinctive situations.
The force of impact in accidents depends on the size, weight, and speed of the colliding

Perception of American Exceptionalism Essay example
Americans through the years of existence have adapted well to the radical changes throughout the
world. Technology, independence and social equality are some of the diverse concepts the United
States have adapted to and developed in order to become a more unified country. Our nation
believes that it is exceptional when it comes to other countries worldwide. As can be shown through
the popular reference to America as the shining city on a hill . The term American exceptionalism is
derived from ideals held by many Americans throughout history. Different people have analyzed
American exceptionalism through multiple literary devices. Works such as A Model of Christian
Charity, What is an American and Acres of Diamonds illustrate the... Show more content on

But if we shall neglect...shall fall to embrace this present world and prosecute our carnal
intentions, seeking great things for ourselves and our posterity, the Lord will surely break out in
wrath against us (Winthrop, 20). This idea that the Christian deity is somehow connected to
America s greatness can be found in Conwell s work, albeit used in a different manner. Like
Winthrop, Russell Conwell, author of Acres of Diamonds, stresses how great America is with
emphasis that it somehow ordained from a higher power. However, Winthrop focuses maintaining
this status through unselfish means while Conwell uses this as a way to establish individual
success. There never was a place on earth more adapted than the city of Philadelphia to day, and
never in the history of the world did a poor man without capital have such an opportunity . . .
Because to make money honestly is to preach the gospel (Conwell, 179). His argument that
Philadelphia is the greatest city on earth ties in with the concept of American exceptionalism. The
connection he makes with religion is contrasted to Winthrop since Winthrop argues that America
will lose its exceptionality if it does not avoid selfish actions. Conwell argues that God is placing
America in such a place that every person has the ability to acquire individual wealth. Though
Conwell focuses on the city of Philadelphia, his arguments can be applied to a more general sense
in America. His statement that

Martial Fitness Training Program Is Important At Every...
Martial Fitness Training
Power, Body Mechanics and Flexibility
This martial fitness training program has been tailor made to meet the specific demands of martial
artists and warrior athletes.
Why is fitness training for martial artists important at every level of their training?
In short...
Done properly it will sharpen your body mechanics, increase mobility and flexibility along with
your ability to generate power (important for a solid base, striking and kicking) and just as
importantly it will help to counteract the imbalances already currently in your body from previous
injuries or bad habits in training.
Martial Fitness Training Basics
The martial fitness training program below is split into 3 phases encompassing power, body
mechanics and flexibility. Each phase is simply a period of time in which you train in a particular
way to achieve a particular objective. The exercises are different in each phase and build on the
ones performed previously. Each phase requires only 3 sessions a week commitment.
Warming up is essential before any type of physical training and there are scientific studies to back
this up. It s also important to warm up before each martial fitness training session. Perform 5 10
minutes of light aerobic exercise (jogging, stationery bike, rower, etc.) followed by joint mobility
for every joint and then do some stretches to all the major muscle groups.
Some of the exercises below are unique and you may not be familiar with them. It s

The Caliph Harun Al Rashid
Aside from this general emphasis on the value of cleverness and intelligence however, the story of
the Caliph Harun al Rashid and his much exalted qadi Abu Yusuf also highlights an interesting point
about religion and the works to follow or otherwise remain within the confines of certain religious
mandates while simultaneously being able to pursue whatever personal ends one desires. Though
the qadi claims that the actions of the Caliph all fall within accordance with the Qur an and the
teachings of Islam, the series of events required to allow the Caliph to consummate a marriage
with the slave girl which involve such workarounds as the ordering of her marriage to a male
slave in order to divorce them and avoid the three month period of legal purification (Schroeder,
1955) required for sexual conduct, as well as ordering the male slave to become the property of
the girl in order to annul their marriage when the male slave refuses to divorce her on his own it
certainly seems that these actions probably violate the spirit of the law, even if they avoid
violation of the letter. The story itself makes a somewhat humorous and sly mention of this fact
towards the end of the tale, confirming that as to the expiation of the oaths, Abu Yusuf s ruling
would hardly be confirmed by jurists of the Shafi i school, (Schroeder, 1955) but noting that Abu
Yusuf treated it in accord with the views of his own, the Hanafi school. In other words, whether or
not the actions of the qadi

Summary Of Jacob Struggles With God
Introduction:
Jacob Struggles with God is a selection that came from the book of Genesis chapter 32. Genesis
describes God s creation of earth and his first interactions with human beings. Throughout the Bible,
there are many instances and occasions where the almighty Lord God demonstrates his strength and
power. In Genesis chapter 32, a strange man appeared before Jacob, who is the son of Isaac and
Rebekah, and they wrestled until daybreak. In Genesis 25:23, when the Lord was talking to
Rebekah he said, Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples born of you shall be divided;
the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder shall serve the younger. The story of Jacob, the
younger son, and the story of Esau, the older son is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The timeline of genesis begins with God s creation of earth and ends with the death of Joseph,
who was the eleventh of Jacob s twelve sons. Although it is not possible to date the creation of
earth, it is possible to determine the dates of events in Genesis. The birth of Abraham was
approximately in 2166 B.C and the death of Joseph was approximately 1806 B.C. The book was
originally written in Hebrew, and its Hebrew name was Bereshith, which means The Beginning .
Eventually it was translated from Hebrew to Greek in approximately 250 B.C. One of the
purposes of writing Genesis was to trace major historical events from the beginning of time. Many
different writers wrote parts of Genesis, but Moses, the messenger of the Lord, received credit for
putting it together.
Genesis 5:8 states, So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died. It is
a mystery to me why not only Seth, but Enosh, Kenan, Noah, and many others lived very long
lifespans. After the first flood, people s lifespans decreased dramatically and the Genesis time
period became a period of survival. Abraham died of old age at one hundred seventy five years. As
the story of Genesis progressed, people s lives became more difficult. They were not
technologically or medically advanced. The life span of an average person became pretty small
and people fought for survival every day. They fought each other for land and for power. Men

1. Citation. What type of source is it? Who created it and when did they create it?
It is a primary sources consisting of two letters written to the President of the United States at
different moments in time. The first one dated from November 17th 1908 is by L.R Farmer from
Morganton in North Carolina and the gender of the writer is not clearly specified. The second
letter dated from October 20th 1942 is by Viola Cosley from Birmingham in Alabama. It must be

How Does Anne Shirley Challenge Authority
At eleven years old, Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery and Harry
Potter in Harry Potter and Philosopher Stone by J. K. Rowling are orphans who seek for acceptance
in their respective communities of Green Gables and Hogwarts. As orphans, Anne Shirley and
Harry Potter enter their communities as outsiders who struggle to understand their position.
However, Anne and Harry respond differently to their new community as they both challenge
authority with their limited amount of power. When Anne arrives at Green Gables, she comes as a
surprise to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, brother and sister, who expected a boy to help with their
home, instead were given a girl. Anne s arrival challenges the community and the authorities with
her imagination and actions that she struggles to conform because no one takes her seriously. Yet,

Anne challenges Marilla s rules when she questions Marilla against her upbringing in regard to
saying her prayers when Marilla tells Anne, You must say your prayers while you are under my
roof (Montgomery 59). Thus, Anne talks back when she questions whether she prays the right
way. As a result, Anne challenges Marilla with her curiosity because she wants to prove she is
able to conform to her duties. Furthermore, she is constantly given duties to perform, which she
cannot keep up. The pressure to conform challenges Anne to challenge Marilla against her
behaviour, to prove she is part of the community. However, Joe Sutliff Sanders argues that Marilla
is partially to blame because she pushes Anne to challenge her curiosity in order to make the right
choices (89). Yet, Anne is unable to fully abide to her needs unless she abides to others. For that
reason, Anne lies to please Marilla against the missing

Pilate As A Positive Figure In The Bible
The Bible is interpreted in many different ways. Depending on who wrote the chapter, when the
story was written, and it depends on the person who is reading the story. All of these factors
contribute to how we read the Bible. Depending on the context of the situation, Pilate may be
portrayed as a negative, neutral, or positive figure in the Bible. Warrens Carter s book, Pontius
Pilate: Portraits of a Roman Governor, states, Gundry sees the first sign of this Christianizing in
Matthew s presentation when Pilate asks the crowd if they want to release JesusBarabbas or Jesus
who is called the Christ? (Carter 9). This source claims that Pilate is one of the first Christians
and makes an effort to save Jesus from being crucified. I argue that Pilate is seen as a negative
figure in the Bible because The standard way of thinking about Pilate s role as a figure in the Bible
has it that Pilate is seen as a positive figure. Pilate is the governor and holds most of the power, he
is aware of Jesus s innocence before crucifying him, and he is naГЇve to think that his hands are
cleaned of Jesus s blood.
Pilate is seen as a negative character because of many different reasons. Pilate is not a normal
citizen of Judaea; he was the governor. He had the power to approve or disapprove any decision
the city wanted to make. Some sources claim that Pilate did not want to start a riot or that he fell
into peer pressure, but a strong leader should have been able to stand up for the right

The Battle Of Chancellorsville As General Robert E. Lee
Civil War historians view the Battle of Chancellorsville as General Robert E. Lee s greatest and
most remarkable victory (Sears 1). Lee, facing an army twice his size, defies all military doctrine
and divides his army multiple times in order to out maneuver and surprise the Union forces. The
daring maneuver succeeds and ultimately forces the Union s Army of the Potomac to retreat. The
victory was another major blow to Union troops, but it came at a huge cost to the Confederacy:
the loss of General Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson. By evaluating the battle through the lens of the
mission command activities, one can see how Lee s daring maneuver was actually very calculated
and his only option for victory. Throughout the rest of this paper, I will describe the timeline of the
battle and how General Lee used the mission command activities of understand, visualize, assess,
and lead to ultimately achieve victory at Chancellorsville. After the Union s defeat at
Fredericksburg in December of 1862, President Abraham Lincolnonce again made a change in the
Union Armys leadership. General Ambrose Burnside was replaced with Major General Joseph
Hooker. Hooker and Lincoln both agreed that the key to victory in the war was the destruction of
Lee s Army in a decisive battle (Sears 57 62). Hooker s plan to accomplish this was to use his
130,000 soldiers and launch a double envelopment of Lee s 60,000 men still camped at
Fredericksburg. Between April 27 and May 1 of 1863, Hooker

Black Friday Madness
Black Friday Madness
In the essay Black Friday: Consumerism Minus Civilization, the author, Andrew Leonard, makes
the argument that, The out of control marketing and consumer insanity (135) has taken over
Thanksgiving and the days following it. Sadly, as consumers, we have forgotten what Thanksgiving
is really all about. Marketing businesses have gone overboard brainwashing consumers with
advertisements pumping them up to shop on Black Friday and the days that follow. Moreover,
marketing businesses have caused the actions we see and hear about on Black Friday such as
people being trampled, as consumers rush into stores to shop the sales, and are proof of this
insanity. I strongly agree with Leonard s arguments from Black Friday: ... Show more content on

In addition, within the stores there are so many areas sections off with lines for their own for
specific items such as laptops, Ipads, and other expensive items that are very limited in the
quantity a store even receives. The insanity of the consumers showing up hours before the store
even opens or sales even began made me step back and wonder if it is really worth the few bucks
of savings. I have seen consumers rushing to be the first in line and closest to the pallets and
racks of the items still covered up. It is crazy people actually start taking the boxes apart to look
what inside while waiting for the sale time to start. I do not recommend bringing your kids to
shop, because consumers can be rude and very pushy. Also, some stores even announce specials
that are only advertised in the store during the Black Friday sale times. All these things seem to just
send consumers into and even bigger frenzy.
Leonard argues that it is time to take back Thanksgiving. He has many thoughts and points to the
insanity that Black Friday shopping brings. Leonard states But there s also a point where healthy

ourselves checking our smartphones for last minute online deals while standing in line for a chain

The Battle Of The Final War
Polis. The name probably didn t have quite the impact as its parent word metropolis , but the
parent word was cumbersome and, as people are wont to do, prone to shortening. The parent
word may have better conveyed the city s size and scope and industry...or maybe not. Perhaps
that was why the word was changed over time: as the city grew and grew, the word metropolis
seemed to become more and more inadequate. And Mega City One was just lame. In the
aftermath of the Final War (as people called it, when referring to the conflict that gave rise to
Polis), things changed. Gradually, at first, as those leaders that were perceived to have failed
were replaced sometimes violently by people who genuinely seemed to care about the
population s needs and concerns. The country was slowly transformed, town by ruined town,
city by devastated city, state by crippled state. Those who d survived were often eager for a
leadership that would give them the direction they wanted, that put the people first, that put the
needs of society ahead of the needs of self. It was not socialism, as that was one of the driving
forces that had led to the Final War in the first place; nor was it capitalism, as that had been
another driving force of the War instead, a curious blend of social conservatism rose to fill the
void, and it was embraced by the survivors. As months became years, and years became decades,
things gradually changed. Those who d begun the revival were elevated to positions of

business right out of the eighth grade, after dropping out. He started out small but eventually
became one of the riches men in America. He owned then 160 acres of land to start off this
business. He sold his potatoes to companies at first all natural. But he soon discovered that if you
dry out the foodit will keep for longer, more companies then bought from him. Then in the 1950 s
he found out about freezing them, and the method of frozen food. McDonald s started buying and
selling Simplot fries. The customers seemed to like it, they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Smelled alone, that chemical provides and unmistakable sense of the food. Ethyl 2 methyl butyrate,

whatever chemicals you add to them will give them specific tastes. Adding methyl 2 peridylketone

marshmallow. The possibilities are now almost limitless. Without affecting the appearance or
nutritional value, processed foods could even be made with aroma chemicals such as hexenal (the

Four Texts: Brave Heart by Mel Gibson, Tilbury speech by Queen Elizabeth I 1588 , The Pianist by
Roman Polanski, Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen
Two Connections: glorified war seen in a positive light, reality of the struggle to survive in war
In the four texts we see people struggle to survive through the toughest wars, these directors show
us the reality of war while some make war seem like a fantasy and victorious.
War has been apart of history for a long time, ordinary humans fought for our existence today,
most stories told today glorify the reality of war making soldiers look like heroes and bring out
the good in evil. The reality of war is equal to manslaughter in today s society, it is the stories of
war history that are told today that makes us think of soldiers in war as heroes despite the fact that
they are committing crimes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Brave Heart similar to The Pianist and Dulce et Decorum est we do see the brutality of war
among soldiers and innocent humans, but the main idea of the film is to glorify war and inspire
people to fight for one s country even if it means risking your own life and others, the main
character in Brave Heart is William Wallace who in the film took charge of the army and
inspired the soldiers to fight for their freedom and their country and the risk of death was made
out to be victorious. There s a scene in Brave Heart where we see William Wallace eager to fight
against the English but he had to encourage his army to keep fighting as they were coming to the
point of not wanting to fight anymore, they feared for their own lives. It was their own freedom
they would risk if they were to leave, William motivates them by

Vietnam And Its Effects On The United States
Vietnam was originally a French colony located in Indochina. After the end of the First Indochina
War when the French were defeated by the Vietnamese in 1954, the French persisted to obtain their
freedom. They sought to obtain it by signing the Geneva Peace Accords, granting freedom to most
of the colonies but left Vietnamdivided at the seventeenth parallel into two different states. The
northern portion was controlled by the Vietnamese, while the south was controlled by France, later
on by the United States. The Viet Minh, governed by Ho Chi Minh, however were determined to
rule over all the territory surrounding its borders so elections were scheduled hopefully to reunite
the country under a strict Communist government. The Communists had a good probability of
winning the elections due to their superiority in organizations, but the United States did as much as
possible to keep Communism out of the South and other regions prone to falling into it. As the new
Superpowers emerged after the end of World War II, the challenge of maintaining authority over
targeted territory remained, but it was completely challenged by getting involved in the Vietnam
War. The Vietnam War, being one of the longest wars recorded in American History, was also
marked as the first War that made the United States fail with their plans of eradicating Communism
to secure land that could be run by an independent government. Additionally, this war was broadcast
on television, which allowed people to

Essay about Failures in a Distributed System
Failures in a Distributed System Paper Phyllis Lenoir POS/355 November 19, 2012 Asho Rao A
distributed system is an application that executes a collection of protocols to coordinate the actions
of multiple processes on a network, where all component work together to perform a single set of
related tasks. A distributed system can be much larger and more powerful given the combined
capabilities of the distributed components, than combinations of stand alone systems. But it s not
easy for a distributed system to be useful, it must be reliable. This is a difficult goal to achieve
because of the complexity of the interactions between simultaneously running components. A
distributed system must have the following characteristics: *... Show more content on

Four types of failures that can occur in a distributed system are: * Halting failures: A component
simply stops. There is no way to detect the failure except by timeout: it either stops sending I m
alive (heartbeat) messages or fails to respond to requests. Your computer freezing is a halting
failure. * Omission failures: Failure to send/receive messages primarily due to lack of buffering
space, which causes a message to be discarded with no notification to either the sender or
receiver. This can happen when routers become overloaded. * Network failures: A network link
breaks. * Timing failures: A temporal property of the system is violated. For example, clocks on
different computers which are used to coordinate processes are not synchronized when a
message is delayed longer than a threshold period, etc. www.code.google.com Timing failures
there is suspicion of a possible failure related to the motherboard. This can be a result of a
specific message strongly implicating the motherboard in some sort of erratic system behavior. It
may also be the case that the motherboard probably isn t the problem, but that we want to rule it
out as a possible cause. Since the motherboard is where all the other components meet and
connect, a bad motherboard can affect virtually any other part of the PC. For this reason the
motherboard must often be checked to ensure it is working properly, even if it is unlikely to be the

Descriptive Essay On Funerals
Helena Iero
Loving daughter and sister
1977 2004
27 yrs old
So long and goodnight. I heard Gerard sing loud and proud. It was my funeral and I m laying
with my eyes closed, not able to see my best friends. I could feel Gerard s tears without even
looking at him. Funerals are sad but I could never deal with having my best friend like this. The
only thing I never got about funerals is why they dress you up to be pretty. I mean, you re dead
for Pete s sake. Nobody in heaven or hell is going to judge you on what you re wearing, well I
hope not. The dress I wore was pretty though. It had red and black lacing on it. I don t know who
picked it out but this dress was from the party that I first met the boys at and that was pretty fun.
11 yrs earlier
It was a very sunny October morning, but it wasn t any morning, it was Halloween morning. It was
also graduation morning. Why on Halloween? Well, I don t know. Anyways, I put on a white
dress that reached my knees and put on black flats. I braided my dark hair and threw on a
necklace. The necklace was one my mother gave me when I was little before she passed. I looked
in the mirror and I gripped the charm on the necklace. My brother then walked into the room and
placed a calming hand on my shoulder. I looked at him through the mirror and smiled.
Mother and father would be proud if they were here, My brother said. I sighed.
Yeah, but I m glad I m getting taken care of by my big brother, I turned around and gave my brother

Longfellow Vs Keats
Both poems are sonnets that focus on early death; however, each poet displays different emotions
for life and death in their poems. On the one hand, Keats displays an optimistic view of life, but is
contemptuous towards death since it will mark an unwanted end to his artistic, romantic, and
countless other endeavors. On the other, Longfellow distrusts life and fears death. As an indicator of
these contrasting sentiments, the poets not only use significantly different types of poems, but they
also differ in their rhetorical devices purposes in the shared iambic pentameter structure. In
particular, they use imagery, diction, mechanical devices and metaphors in varying extents and
purposes. Keats Elizabethan sonnet contains vivid, buoyant imagery... Show more content on

In both openings, each poet recognizes the ephemeral element of life. Keats fears that he may
cease to be, while Longfellow reflects, half of life is gone (Keats 1; Longfellow 1). Through
diction, this trend becomes evident. For example, Keats uses the words, Huge cloudy symbols,
and shadows, indicating almightiness and transcendence (Keats 6, 8). Longfellow too
recognizes nature s power, going even further, capitalizing the words Past and Death
(Longfellow 9, 14). Such capitalization is done out of respect for the power of these words, and
further, as a reiteration that the present is determined by the past and the future. In effect,
Longfellow realizes that the present is the morphed version of the past and the future, and thus
gives no capitalization, or significance, to it. Keats experiences the opposite. He very much
endorses the attitude of carpe diem, trying to move on from the past only to be greeted by the
grim face of death. By the end of the poem, each poet describes similar circumstances. Keats
approaches a shore, while Longfellow ascends a hill to contemplate life. They differ, however, as
Keats views a wide world replete with literary repute and love, but realizes it is nothingness in the
bigger picture (Keats 13 14). Thus, he pursues what remains of his opportunities, despite knowing
his human insignificance. Conversely, Longfellow sees the gleaming lights of an idyllic past with a
waterfall of death that will haunt him now and what remains of his future (Longfellow

The south west region is the biggest drug smuggling zone in the US. More illegal drugs are seized

The Primary Meaning Of The Kingdom Of God
The Kingdom of God is essentially God s reclamation reign or his primary focus of proclamation
and ministry. In the Old Testament, a Kingdom is predicted that God was yet to determine. During
the events of the Holocaust, innumerable amounts of people began to question the Christian faith
and its failure of letting thousands to suffer. Through learning about the meaning, the proclamation
of JesusChrist, the ethics, and the importance of the death and resurrection of Jesus, it is
observed how Christ is a sign of The Kingdom of God. Although the meaning of the Kingdom of
God was never explicitly stated, it is insinuated that it is a multivalent symbol of salvation that
leads to the fulfillment of human necessities and cravings. For humankind itself, an important
gratification includes human creation and yearnings of liberation from oppression, food for the
hungry, and an end to suffering. The Kingdom of God displays both prophetic eschatology and
apocalyptic eschatology notions of salvation as the central symbol for Jesus. Primarily, the
symbol alludes to the impending reign of God. Not only that, but it also points to the end of
time or to a time beyond time that envisions a new heaven and a new earth (JKRG 4). In addition,
Jesus see s the Kingdom as a course of events in which God oversees as Lord of all things and as
the action of God s absolute salvation for all of creation. Being the symbol of God s salvation, the

Adaptation Of Taylor-Powell Logic Model
1.Adaptation of Taylor Powell Logic Model (1999) (McCawley, 2002)
The Logic Model is a visual model or tool, which is drawn from the basic structure of David
Easton s System Theory, used in describing the underlying concept of an object under study. Used
by program evaluators and managers in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of a specific
program used for almost twenty years, the Logic Model involves on giving descriptions regarding
the relationship of the inputs, program resources, outputs, and outcomes in addressing a specific
problem or situation. This model helps in determining the critical measures of performances in a
program. This framework also illustrates and points out a causal relationship between the situation
or problem to the outputs and inputs and to the outcomes.

Three bodies of literature were said to be the guiding factor in the development of this theoretical
framework. First is the organization theory and the work on organizational change wherein they
acknowledge the importance of the concerns about organizational control in sociological work
which was influenced by Max Weber, and which included Crozier s classic French study of
bureaucratic resistance to change in 1984and Etzioni s analysis of forms of compliance written in
1961. The second guiding factor was Dolbeare and Hammond s study of the factors that influenced
responses to US Supreme Court rulings on school prayers in 1971 and other studies on the impact
of public policy andjudicial decisions. And lastly, studies of inter governmental relations such as
the literatures written by Derthick in 1970 and 1972 and the work of Pressman and Wildavsky in

The Importance Of Gothic Litrature In Literature
Humans actually seek to be scared. Since 2005, the amount of money spent on Halloween has
doubled to 7.5 billion dollars. What is the reason for this sudden increase in spending?
According to the Allegre Ringos interview Dr. Ker Scare Specialist discussed that dopamine is
released into the brain and produces a natural high. Which is what some people like thrill
seekers love that feeling when they go on a rollarcoaster or skydive. Of course it all just depends
on the person since some people HATE the feeling of being scared or just arent interested in it.
People are sometimes fascinated with things that scare us like monsters or even death, since we
don t know what happens after we die. Rather some get scared from reading scary stories, as a
way to get scared without having to go out without to be frightened since the stories give us the
chills. When reading scary stories its as if you are going into a whirl of mysterious, disturbing, and
frighting feelings. Poems like ( The Ravenby Edgar Allen Poe )or (Beware: Do Not Read This by

thoughts that can occur in the human mind and involve detail which provides us with imagery of

Introduction New Orleans is a major United States port and the largest city and metropolitan
area in the state of Louisiana. The population of the city was 343,829 in the 2010 U.S. Census.
New Orleans was part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. It has been hit by Hurricane Katrina,

residents come to New Orleans, they have a difficult time understanding the strange city. It
looks like no other place in the United States. The first puzzling impression usually comes from
the appearance of the French Quarter near many of the city s hotels. It is more than just a few
blocks of houses and cottages standing side by side, up against the sidewalk. The size of the
district startles even those who have traveled in the rest of the nation. Few visitors are
accustomed to such a mess of people moving at all hours of the day and night in the very center
of the city. They quickly learn that bars have no closing hour, that the food is spicy, and that the
music is taking place almost everywhere. And they may also take note that the locals talk weird
but few have southern accents. But it is an American city just a very different place with a very

Theme Of Blindness In Raymond Carver s Cathedral
Blindness is not limited to physical manifestation. In Raymond Carver s Cathedral, the figurative
blindness is immediately apparent through the narrator and his shallowness, irrational jealousy, and

wife s blind friend, speak negatively of his character and reveals his insecurities. While the narrator

the narrator to an epiphany and the beginning of a character transformation. The different forms of

Up to 90% of people dream when they fall asleep not only do they dream but also have
nightmares. Not all nightmares will wake a person up or even be remembered but if they are
remembered it usually strikes fear and worry in the dreamers mind. Nightmares and the level of
fear that they possess all depends on the person who is having them because not everyone s fears
are the same thing or are to the same extent. Nevertheless sleep is split into four different stages,
stage one being sleep onset, stage 2 light sleep, stage 3 and 4 deep sleep which can also be known

Kunio Maekawa is an architect who designed and built his own house, The Maekawa House, in
1941(Reynolds, 2001). Since the war was going on, he was only able to construct his home with
limited materials (Reynolds, 2001). Nevertheless, he was still able to incorporate the traditional
Japanese architecture with influences of the western style. The Maekawa House is considered to
be modern because of the introduction it had of a different type of design in Japan (Reynolds,

He was drawn by the English Arts and Crafts Movement and chose to write about John Ruskin s
essay, Seven Lamps of Architecture. Maekawa was intrigued by how Ruskin defined the
architectural detail of architects work. This made him more interested to find out what
architecture was (Maekawa, 1984). He visited projects around Tokyo, and even got the chance to
see Frank Lloyd Wright s Imperial Hotel but was disappointed by the lack of information
(Maekawa, 1984). He read an architectural journal, Architectural Forum, and was not fascinated
because there was no information of the design or the aesthetics. It seems magazines in the 1920 s
were somewhat conservative (Maekawa, 1984).
Maekawa entered Tokyo Imperial University in 1925 to pursue his architecture education and it
was there when he was able to be exposed to the European trends (Maekawa, 1984). He learned
about the Western and Japanese architectural history and took field trips to shrines and temples

unrealistic expectations or situations they may face in real life. One example is Riley having her

A repetition of an upbeat piano piece, cheerful drum beats, and laughter from the audience, the
beginning of this song might lead you to believe this is a classic show tune. Nina Simone, the
songwriter and performer, certainly wants you to think this song is innocuous. She goes as far as
to describe this song as a show tune in the beginning of the lyrics. I believe, at Carnegie Hall back
in 1964, she focused on this aspect of the song to let the white audience s guard down just long
enough to surprise them with a powerful message.
The song s instrumental is purposely deceptive, it s lively and repetitive. There is one subtle but

This grievous happening dramatically influenced Simone s views and music. She believed that
non violence was the correct way to fight prevalent racism. However, in her autobiography she

Simone concentrated her music career on folk and show tunes. However, enraged by the killings,
she wrote her first protest song, Mississippi Goddam. She wrote the song in an hour, which clearly
explains the raw rage, disappointment and disgust she displays in the lyrics (Cleary Simone, 1992).
Can t you see it? Can t you feel it? she asked to the white audience at Carnegie Hall, where the
song premiered. She expresses how she has lost faith in white America in the first verses, I don t
belong there. I ve even stopped believing in prayer. Her bluntness comes to a climax when she
sings, oh, but this whole country full of lies. You are all gonna die and die like flies. And then

obtain, because everyone alway seemed to be missing something to their picture perfect life.
The color green is a critical and significant color in this novel. We see it all over the place, but the
most important place we see it in, is when Gatsby is reaching out ... Show more content on

When we break down the color white, the main quality it represents is purity. The color white
was used everywhere in the book, but there was a little twist to it. It wasn t always what it
seemed, just like the American Dream. They were both in white, and their dresses were rippling
and fluttering as if they had just been blown in after a short flight around the house, (8). This
quote has the character Daisy in it. When we heard Daisy we think of the flower. So delicate and
innocent and full of purity, like the white petals, but once you reach the yellow middle, all she
cares about is her picture perfect image. Daisy isn t what she seems Fitzgerald carefully builds
Daisy s character with associations of light, purity, and innocence, when all s said and done, she
is the opposite from what she presents herself to be, (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). Once we get
to know Daisy better and better, we start to realize that she is in fact the opposite. Daisy craves for
people to look at her the way they look at Gatsby and think to themselves, wow she has it all .
Daisy goes to extreme limits to make her life look as perfect as possible, even if she is completely
miserable, she will keep hiding her sadness and try and live her fake life. The color white
represents the American Dream because even though this idea of a perfect life is so desirable, no
one really fully accomplished the goal, just like how the color white was used as innocence, when
broken down, we see that it symbolizes the exact

Dental Floss Research Paper
Have you ever been in the dentist office when your gums started bleeding? Most likely, the dental
hygienist told you that this happened because you don t floss enough! Though this isn t true,
there are still plenty of benefits to practicing good dental care and flossing regularly. Here s some
reasons to NOT give up on dental floss, all from Cincinnati s top dentists at Lowitz and Meier!
Recently, there have been a slew of rumors floating around the internet claiming that flossing your
teeth is not necessary for optimal dental care. However, these rumors are far from the truth! In fact,
they are all stemming from one publishing error that happened last year. In 2015, the Food and

Development, And Human Development Of The Hararappan...
The Harappan Civilization is arguably one of the most successful and cultivated human
development known to this date. Known as the Chalcolithic period because of copper and stone
use, this civilization started in around 2600 B.C 1900 B.C and is the oldest civilization in the
world. Although many refer to it as the Indus Valley Civilization, it is not technically accurate
because this culture was spanning way further than the Indus, so it is more reasonable to call it
Harappan. The development of this society contains many different aspects, such as geography and
buildings, crafts and trade, religion and ritual impurity, etc. From what we know so far, the works
of this civilization is truly remarkable.
Starting with the geographical and agricultural aspect, it is found that this whole civilization
spanned across major Indian Cities and parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Even though it covers a
vast majority of land, the heart of the civilization was located in Harappa and Mohenjodaro because
of great soil and the flooding of the river. We discovered that the town was split in two the
Citadel and the lower town. The Citadel was on a hill containing huge living structures, and a
water area known as the Great Bath that is speculated to be a ritual area. The lower town
consisted of a grid like system, having all of the house perfectly aligned. The larger homes are
speculated to be the houses of the more rich people and smaller homes for the less rich. One huge

The Effect Of Bubbles And How They Affect Investment
2. The definition of bubbles and how they affect investment This section will focus on the analysis
about how bubbles affect investors behaviors. Since bubbles are closely connected with crises,
doing research on investors behaviors about overvalued assets can help economists to understand
crises fundamental. Therefore it is good for governments to take actions to prevent these crises.
The first part of this section will describe the definition of bubbles in detail, and the second part
will illustrate relevant empirical evidences to further explain how bubbles affect investing
behaviors. 2.1 Theoretical research C. Kindleberger (1978) first defined bubbles as a continuously
increasing process of assets price. This phenomenon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally he found investors behaviors in terms of the overvalued assets played an important role in
this process. Joesph E. Stiglitz (1990) agreed with the theory above, and suggested that if investors
thought assets could be sold over their expectation, they would do more investment, and then assets
actual price would increase, which also means the bubbles would appearance. He thought it is
important to prove the existence of bubbles, since they can implicate the future decrease of assets
price. Therefore governments could take actions to control investors behaviors and avoid crises. But
by taking the 1960s crisis as an example, he found bubbles existence was difficult to test. It is
because bubbles would not exist only if the assets discount rate increased equal to the assets price,
which means the assets value would be equal to the discount value. But this equilibrium is not
expectable. Then Stiglitz proposed that the markets might have multiple equilibriums, so he
collected many economists thoughts about this opinion. But he found models of different
economists were developed in terms of different methods, so they cannot reach an agreement. But
he suggested that it is still important for economists to analyze this problem in further studies.
Basing on the research of other economists, Robert S. Chirinko and Huntley Schaller finally built a
widely accepted model, Q equation, to test bubbles existence. The

Drugs, Music, and Parties
Fast cars, taking drugs, listening to loud music, and going to parties were many activities that
teenagers from the 1980 s did to enjoy their youth and have a fun filled night. Less Than Zero
contains many of these activities and more in a fast paced, fictional autobiography about the life of
a wealthy, college boy during his winter break. This novel shows how life is like growing up as a
wealthy teenager in the 1980 s with no care for anyone in the world. Less Than Zero by Bret
Easton Ellis has an overall theme of death and is an excellent example of postmodern literature
because this novel is noir fictional, contains an unreliable narrator, and shows an alternative ... Show

Polypharmacy According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, Polypharmacy is defined as the practice of administering or using multiple medications especially concurrently, as in the treatment of a single disease or several other conditions (2014). Polypharmacy can be considered as the use of six to nine different medications, and excessive polypharmacy is studied as the use of ten or more medications (Jyrkka et al., 2009). Emergency department visits, hospital readmissions, and death in the elderly are greatly associated with polypharmacy (Slabaugh et al., 2010). When the word polypharmacy is used, many healthcare professionals may often think of its relativeness to geriatric individuals. Since elderly people are more susceptible to developing problematic... According to the Nursing Manual of the Saskatoon Health Region, there are policies to provide correct medication administration to ensure patient safety when preparing and administering all medications (2014). For this to be successful, all health care professionals must understand the reason for the medication being given, the therapeutic effect, any side/adverse effects, and assessments to be completed prior to administration (2014). The Saskatoon Health Region also states that if sending medications home with the patient, ensure the patient understands how and when the medication is to be taken (2014). As stated above, this was one reason for polypharmacy in the geriatric population to have harmful outcomes. It is the responsibility of the health care provider to educate the patient with proper medication teaching (indications of the medication, proper dosage, and any adverse effects that could occur). There were many Soviet Unionleaders but one that really stood out was Mikhail Gorbachev, an energetic 54 year old, Andropov s apprentice with a new and interesting mind who recognized that the Soviet economy could not survive without serious good changes. Reagan and Gorbachev argued freely but also developed a mutual relationship that had its advantages. In December 1988, at the very end of Reagan s presidency, Gorbachev announced in an address to the United Nations in Washington that he would unilaterally reduce Soviet military forces in Eastern Europe by 500,000 soldiers and 10,000 tanks over the next two years. • 4. Physics Of Kinetic Energy And Stopping Distance Newton s law of inertia states that an object in motion will stay in motion until an equal and opposite force stops it. In a collision, a driver s car is stopped by another object (Ex: another car, a tree, a lamp post). Anything not attached to the car will continue to move forward because they are not stopped by the force that halted the car. Therefore a person who is not wearing a seatbelt during a collision would fly to the front of the car until they hit something (Ex: the dashboard, the wheel, a car seat). The stopping distance of the vehicle going 60 mph would be four times greater than that of the vehicle going 30 mph. This is because kinetic energyincreases exponentially along with velocity. From my prior knowledge in physics, I know that the formula for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mass, kinetic energy, and stopping distance have a direct relationship so if the mass of the vehicle goes up, the kinetic energy increases, and so does the braking distance. This can be proven by the equation KE= 1/2mv2, as mention in the answer to the previous question. Assuming the vehicles velocities are the same, mass is directly correlated to kinetic energy. Kinetic energy and stopping distance have a direct relationship, as explained in the previous answer. To prepare to enter sharp curves, a driver should slow down. Lowering the velocity of a car decreases the kinetic energy in the car. This means the braking distance would be shorter since there is less kinetic energy to convert. Drivers that travel at a slower speed and have a short braking distance can pass through sharp curves easier because they have more control over the vehicle and can stop if the vehicle gets too close to the edge of the road.A reason why car crashes have different levels of injuries is that the force of impact varies in distinctive situations. The force of impact in accidents depends on the size, weight, and speed of the colliding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But if we shall neglect...shall fall to embrace this present world and prosecute our carnal intentions, seeking great things for ourselves and our posterity, the Lord will surely break out in wrath against us (Winthrop, 20). This idea that the Christian deity is somehow connected to America s greatness can be found in Conwell s work, albeit used in a different manner. Like Winthrop, Russell Conwell, author of Acres of Diamonds, stresses how great America is with emphasis that it somehow ordained from a higher power. However, Winthrop focuses maintaining this status through unselfish means while Conwell uses this as a way to establish individual success. There never was a place on earth more adapted than the city of Philadelphia to day, and never in the history of the world did a poor man without capital have such an opportunity . . . Because to make money honestly is to preach the gospel (Conwell, 179). His argument that Philadelphia is the greatest city on earth ties in with the concept of American exceptionalism. The connection he makes with religion is contrasted to Winthrop since Winthrop argues that America will lose its exceptionality if it does not avoid selfish actions. Conwell argues that God is placing America in such a place that every person has the ability to acquire individual wealth. Though Conwell focuses on the city of Philadelphia, his arguments can be applied to a more general sense in America. His statement that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Caliph Harun Al Rashid Aside from this general emphasis on the value of cleverness and intelligence however, the story of the Caliph Harun al Rashid and his much exalted qadi Abu Yusuf also highlights an interesting point about religion and the works to follow or otherwise remain within the confines of certain religious mandates while simultaneously being able to pursue whatever personal ends one desires. Though the qadi claims that the actions of the Caliph all fall within accordance with the Qur an and the teachings of Islam, the series of events required to allow the Caliph to consummate a marriage with the slave girl which involve such workarounds as the ordering of her marriage to a male slave in order to divorce them and avoid the three month period of legal purification (Schroeder, 1955) required for sexual conduct, as well as ordering the male slave to become the property of the girl in order to annul their marriage when the male slave refuses to divorce her on his own it certainly seems that these actions probably violate the spirit of the law, even if they avoid violation of the letter. The story itself makes a somewhat humorous and sly mention of this fact towards the end of the tale, confirming that as to the expiation of the oaths, Abu Yusuf s ruling would hardly be confirmed by jurists of the Shafi i school, (Schroeder, 1955) but noting that Abu Yusuf treated it in accord with the views of his own, the Hanafi school. In Genesis chapter 32, a strange man appeared before Jacob, who is the son of Isaac and Rebekah, and they wrestled until daybreak. In Genesis 25:23, when the Lord was talking to Rebekah he said, Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples born of you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder shall serve the younger. Although it is not possible to date the creation of earth, it is possible to determine the dates of events in Genesis. The book was originally written in Hebrew, and its Hebrew name was Bereshith, which means The Beginning . Eventually it was translated from Hebrew to Greek in approximately 250 B.C. One of the purposes of writing Genesis was to trace major historical events from the beginning of time. Many different writers wrote parts of Genesis, but Moses, the messenger of the Lord, received credit for putting it together. Genesis 5:8 states, So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died. It is a mystery to me why not only Seth, but Enosh, Kenan, Noah, and many others lived very long lifespans. After the first flood, people s lifespans decreased dramatically and the Genesis time period became a period of survival. Abraham died of old age at one hundred seventy five years. As the story of Genesis progressed, people s lives became more difficult. They were not technologically or medically advanced. The life span of an average person became pretty small and people fought for survival every day. They fought each other for land and for power. Men worked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Pilate As A Positive Figure In The Bible The Bible is interpreted in many different ways. Depending on who wrote the chapter, when the story was written, and it depends on the person who is reading the story. All of these factors contribute to how we read the Bible. Depending on the context of the situation, Pilate may be portrayed as a negative, neutral, or positive figure in the Bible. Warrens Carter s book, Pontius Pilate: Portraits of a Roman Governor, states, Gundry sees the first sign of this Christianizing in Matthew s presentation when Pilate asks the crowd if they want to release JesusBarabbas or Jesus who is called the Christ? (Carter 9). This source claims that Pilate is one of the first Christians and makes an effort to save Jesus from being crucified. I argue that Pilate is seen as a negative figure in the Bible because The standard way of thinking about Pilate s role as a figure in the Bible has it that Pilate is seen as a positive figure. Pilate is the governor and holds most of the power, he is aware of Jesus s innocence before crucifying him, and he is naГЇve to think that his hands are cleaned of Jesus s blood. Pilate is seen as a negative character because of many different reasons. Pilate is not a normal citizen of Judaea; he was the governor. He had the power to approve or disapprove any decision the city wanted to make. Some sources claim that Pilate did not want to start a riot or that he fell into peer pressure, but a strong leader should have been able to stand up for the right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The name probably didn t have quite the impact as its parent word metropolis , but the parent word was cumbersome and, as people are wont to do, prone to shortening. Perhaps that was why the word was changed over time: as the city grew and grew, the word metropolis seemed to become more and more inadequate. And Mega City One was just lame. In the aftermath of the Final War (as people called it, when referring to the conflict that gave rise to Polis), things changed. Gradually, at first, as those leaders that were perceived to have failed were replaced sometimes violently by people who genuinely seemed to care about the population s needs and concerns. The country was slowly transformed, town by ruined town, city by devastated city, state by crippled state. Those who d survived were often eager for a leadership that would give them the direction they wanted, that put the people first, that put the needs of society ahead of the needs of self. After the end of the First Indochina War when the French were defeated by the Vietnamese in 1954, the French persisted to obtain their freedom. The Communists had a good probability of winning the elections due to their superiority in organizations, but the United States did as much as possible to keep Communism out of the South and other regions prone to falling into it. As the new Superpowers emerged after the end of World War II, the challenge of maintaining authority over targeted territory remained, but it was completely challenged by getting involved in the Vietnam War. Essay about Failures in a Distributed System Failures in a Distributed System Paper Phyllis Lenoir POS/355 November 19, 2012 Asho Rao A distributed system is an application that executes a collection of protocols to coordinate the actions of multiple processes on a network, where all component work together to perform a single set of related tasks. A distributed system can be much larger and more powerful given the combined capabilities of the distributed components, than combinations of stand alone systems. But it s not easy for a distributed system to be useful, it must be reliable. This is a difficult goal to achieve because of the complexity of the interactions between simultaneously running components. A distributed system must have the following characteristics: *... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Four types of failures that can occur in a distributed system are: * Halting failures: A component simply stops. There is no way to detect the failure except by timeout: it either stops sending I m alive (heartbeat) messages or fails to respond to requests. Your computer freezing is a halting failure. * Omission failures: Failure to send/receive messages primarily due to lack of buffering space, which causes a message to be discarded with no notification to either the sender or receiver. This can happen when routers become overloaded. * Network failures: A network link breaks. * Timing failures: A temporal property of the system is violated. For example, clocks on different computers which are used to coordinate processes are not synchronized when a message is delayed longer than a threshold period, etc. www.code.google.com Timing failures there is suspicion of a possible failure related to the motherboard. This can be a result of a specific message strongly implicating the motherboard in some sort of erratic system behavior. It may also be the case that the motherboard probably isn t the problem, but that we want to rule it out as a possible cause. Since the motherboard is where all the other components meet and connect, a bad motherboard can affect virtually any other part of the PC. For this reason the motherboard must often be checked to ensure it is working properly, even if it is unlikely to be the cause of whatever is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was my funeral and I m laying with my eyes closed, not able to see my best friends. I could feel Gerard s tears without even looking at him. Funerals are sad but I could never deal with having my best friend like this. The only thing I never got about funerals is why they dress you up to be pretty. I mean, you re dead for Pete s sake. Nobody in heaven or hell is going to judge you on what you re wearing, well I hope not. The dress I wore was pretty though. It had red and black lacing on it. I don t know who picked it out but this dress was from the party that I first met the boys at and that was pretty fun. 11 yrs earlier It was a very sunny October morning, but it wasn t any morning, it was Halloween morning. It was also graduation morning. Why on Halloween? Well, I don t know. Anyways, I put on a white dress that reached my knees and put on black flats. I braided my dark hair and threw on a necklace. The necklace was one my mother gave me when I was little before she passed. I looked in the mirror and I gripped the charm on the necklace. My brother then walked into the room and placed a calming hand on my shoulder. I looked at him through the mirror and smiled. Mother and father would be proud if they were here, My brother said. On the one hand, Keats displays an optimistic view of life, but is contemptuous towards death since it will mark an unwanted end to his artistic, romantic, and countless other endeavors. On the other, Longfellow distrusts life and fears death. As an indicator of these contrasting sentiments, the poets not only use significantly different types of poems, but they also differ in their rhetorical devices purposes in the shared iambic pentameter structure. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both openings, each poet recognizes the ephemeral element of life. Keats fears that he may cease to be, while Longfellow reflects, half of life is gone (Keats 1; Longfellow 1). Through diction, this trend becomes evident. For example, Keats uses the words, Huge cloudy symbols, and shadows, indicating almightiness and transcendence (Keats 6, 8). Longfellow too recognizes nature s power, going even further, capitalizing the words Past and Death (Longfellow 9, 14). Such capitalization is done out of respect for the power of these words, and further, as a reiteration that the present is determined by the past and the future. In effect, Longfellow realizes that the present is the morphed version of the past and the future, and thus gives no capitalization, or significance, to it. Keats experiences the opposite. He very much endorses the attitude of carpe diem, trying to move on from the past only to be greeted by the grim face of death. By the end of the poem, each poet describes similar circumstances. Keats approaches a shore, while Longfellow ascends a hill to contemplate life. They differ, however, as Keats views a wide world replete with literary repute and love, but realizes it is nothingness in the bigger picture (Keats 13 14). Thus, he pursues what remains of his opportunities, despite knowing his human insignificance. Conversely, Longfellow sees the gleaming lights of an idyllic past with a waterfall of death that will haunt him now and what remains of his future (Longfellow ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though it covers a vast majority of land, the heart of the civilization was located in Harappa and Mohenjodaro because of great soil and the flooding of the river. We discovered that the town was split in two the Citadel and the lower town. The Citadel was on a hill containing huge living structures, and a water area known as the Great Bath that is speculated to be a ritual area. The lower town consisted of a grid like system, having all of the house perfectly aligned. The larger homes are speculated to be the houses of the more rich people and smaller homes for the less rich. One huge detail that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Effect Of Bubbles And How They Affect Investment 2. The definition of bubbles and how they affect investment This section will focus on the analysis about how bubbles affect investors behaviors. Since bubbles are closely connected with crises, doing research on investors behaviors about overvalued assets can help economists to understand crises fundamental. Therefore it is good for governments to take actions to prevent these crises. The first part of this section will describe the definition of bubbles in detail, and the second part will illustrate relevant empirical evidences to further explain how bubbles affect investing behaviors. 2.1 Theoretical research C. Kindleberger (1978) first defined bubbles as a continuously increasing process of assets price. This phenomenon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally he found investors behaviors in terms of the overvalued assets played an important role in this process. Joesph E. Stiglitz (1990) agreed with the theory above, and suggested that if investors thought assets could be sold over their expectation, they would do more investment, and then assets actual price would increase, which also means the bubbles would appearance. He thought it is important to prove the existence of bubbles, since they can implicate the future decrease of assets price. Therefore governments could take actions to control investors behaviors and avoid crises. But by taking the 1960s crisis as an example, he found bubbles existence was difficult to test. It is because bubbles would not exist only if the assets discount rate increased equal to the assets price, which means the assets value would be equal to the discount value. But this equilibrium is not expectable. Then Stiglitz proposed that the markets might have multiple equilibriums, so he collected many economists thoughts about this opinion. But he found models of different economists were developed in terms of different methods, so they cannot reach an agreement. But he suggested that it is still important for economists to analyze this problem in further studies. Basing on the research of other economists, Robert S. Chirinko and Huntley Schaller finally built a widely accepted model, Q equation, to test bubbles existence. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
