Coaching Track Essay
Coaching Track Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a successful track coach and
coach your protégés to a successful season? Through job shadowing, personal experience, and
research, I have found out just how much hard work goes into coaching. Of the more than twenty
million Americans who are running today, most who start do so for the wrong reasons, with the wrong
attitude, and tend to lose interest after a few weeks or months. Many quit. This is usually because they
become concerned with superficial goals such as time and distance and never discover the more
profound mental benefits that running offers. (Lilliefors 15) To be a successful coach, the first thing a
coach has to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When asked why don t they do the same workouts, he said, You guys are different runners, he might
need to work on the speed aspect of running, while you already have that part down. You might need
to work on the form aspect of running, and he has that down. So why would you guys be doing the
same workout, when it would only benefit one of you (Washington). Not only does a coach prepare
athletes body but also their minds. A coach prepares the athletes mind by getting them to think about
what they are going to be doing before there event comes up. If one were to look at Maurice Green
before a race, one would notice that he is very concentrated and thinking about what he needs to do to
win. Another example of that would be football or basketball players. Before the game, each athlete
has his or her own ritual before game time. That concentration is called getting in the zone. What I do
know is how to get you in the best shape of your life so that you ll be stronger and more explosive
than you ve ever been. I can also help you prepare your mind for competition (Connolly 14). When
one becomes a track coach, one has to make many important decisions concerning their athletes.
When accessing an athlete, the coach will have to decide what events will work best for the athlete,
and the team. If an athlete gets injured, the coach will have to decide whether or not the athlete should
compete

Modernization and Dependency Theory
Modernization and Dependency theory
Nowadays the rapid development of the word and the growing integration of countries can hardly fail
to affect the development of new theories which attempt to explain the relationship between countries
and the existing inequality between developed countries and countries of the third world. In this
respect, it is possible to refer to Modernization theory and Dependency theory which, being quite
different, still have certain similarities in their views on the modern world and relationships between
developed and developing countries.
It is worthy of mention that the comparison of these theories will help better understand the current
trends in international relations and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, differences between Modernization theory and Dependency theory result from the origin of
Dependency theory which, as it has been already mentioned above, was developed in response to
Modernization theory. On analyzing existing differences between the two theories, first of all, it is
necessary to underline that Modernization theory views the development of the world and
relationships between developed and developing countries as the relationships of potentially equal
countries which are just at a different stage of development at the moment. To put it more precisely,
Modernization theory stands on the ground that western countries are well developed and western way
of development is viewed as the most successful and perspective while there is practically no other
alternatives to this way of the development. This is why the supporters of this theory insist on the
necessity to develop the cooperation between developed and developing countries in order to make the
latter closer to the former. What is meant here is the fact that Modernization theory underlines the
necessity of borrowing the experience of western countries by developing countries of the Third world
(Scott 196). Basically, developing countries should follow blindly the example of more developed
western countries and this will bring them economic, social, and

Declaration Of Freedom
Happy Fourth! Brief on the Declaration of God over the USA! What is freedom? Except that which is
granted to us by the most high God, our freedom is constrained by the powers of men. On July 4th,
1776 an idea was born that free men were not to be under the control of a tyrannical government and
thus birthed the idea that created a nation. What is often not talked about was how did these colonists
formulate their freedom if they were the loyal subjects of his majesty the King? The freedom that
existed within these Men was one that no King is granted Authority over, no instead, our freedom is
granted to us by The King of Kings, Lord of Lords! Our writ of freedom signed with the Blood of

Is it because our forefathers declared independence from one of the greatest nations of the World? I
would argue that Independence Day should be celebrated as a reminder to all who believe that we
declare our independence from the world as Members of Gods kingdom. We declare that our freedom
is granted by the Son of God who died for us. We can never forget that being in fellowship of the Son
means rejection of the world. Our forefathers understood that no man can control Gods Creation. So
we must remember that this nation of the World is just that, of the World....... Pray for the morality of
America, the immediate halt of secularism and the pledge of Allegiance to he that controls the wealth
of worlds. In this time of trouble remember, freedom is lost to those who lose hope. My hope comes
from the Lord and can never be Lost for God the Father is my strength, is my shield; he loves me and
he will never forsake me! God Bless the USA, God Bless this nation of disobedient children, God
Bless the Churches holding the candle in these End Times, God Bless those who will fight the battle
for eternal freedom. Together we can say, In Order to form a more perfect union, We the People of
Gods kingdom do solemnly declare that there is no other Gods before us, that there is no other Love
greater than one who dies for his friends, and that God Loves all of us even to the death of his Son!

Essay On 15th Century American Education
When we mention the 15th century personally, I look at that particular part of history as the bridge
between the previous middle ages and the early Renaissance. A physician by the name Cardano
insisted that people with hearing differences can nevertheless; be provided with education. The
hearing impaired is capable of thinking as well. Being that the 15th century, only has two parts of
Europe, that s a small example how what we know today as simple minds, our ancestors was about the
time, being that the rule of the government was so simple. It brought an ordinance and sometimes
structure irrational, leaving people whom aren t normal to go without at time and education. For the
hearing or visually impaired one of those unfortunate mishaps was understood they were incapable of
learning so for Cardano to oppose the natural state of being was appreciated highly for those in
need. Not very much liked by superiors who classified the government so they opposed by all means to

Pygmalion Vs Makeover Essay
Pygmalion Vs. The Makeover
Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw, is a play written in 1912 based off of the Ancient Greek myth,
Pygmalion. The play is about a girl named Eliza who is transformed from a nearly homeless, ill
mannered girl to a beautiful lady by two well off men; this is similar to the Pygmalion myth of a man
creating his ideal woman out of ivory. The Makeover is a movie intended to re make George Bernard
Shaw s Pygmalion. Although The Makeover does an outstanding job at depicting the underlying
themes and holding similar to the plotline of Pygmalion, there are still several differences between the
two pieces of work.
Although the main events of both plotlines are identical, the movie sways from the play on several
accounts. In Pygmalion, the protagonist being made over is a girl and her transformers are two well
off men; while in The Makeover the protagonist being made over is a man and his transformers are
two well off women. This is a trend of difference between the two works. The Makeover flipped the
genders of all of the characters in Pygmalion. Another difference is the introduction of the main
protagonist in each work. In Pygmalion, Eliza is brought into the story as ... Show more content on

Unions And The Freedom Of Collective Bargaining
Right to Work provides no rights and no work ...It s purpose is to destroy labor unions and the
freedom of collective bargaining (Martin Luther King). The roots of labor unions in the United States
dates back to the late 18th Century, when skilled craftsmen joined forces against low product prices.
Since then, labor unions have been practical to both the economy and the people which it employes. It
has allowed laborers to make great strides in the protection of rights in their work. It has also
increased wages, causing a strengthening of the middle class. Because of the benefits to the workers,
an increase in wages, making a stronger middle class , and its historic success for the economy in
struggling times , unionization is generally a better option than non unionization. The essential reason
why unions exist is for the benefits of its workers. Throughout the history of the United States labor
unions have been created to protect the working class from harsh conditions and low wages. For
example, the American Federation of Labor (AFL) formed to lobby to raise the workers wages, and
improve the conditions in which they worked. But more important in the long run was the permanent
stamp that the AFL made on the American labour movement...and the objective of trade unionism
became exclusively the incremental achievement of higher wages and better working conditions
(Organized Labour). During and after the Industrial Revolution, as portrayed in The Jungle

Comparison Of Neurons And The Peripheral Nervous System
Inside human brains contain around 100 billion neurons, which primarily connect to other neurons in
order to communicate. Nevertheless, neurons help us perform simple, everyday tasks like answering
your telephone or opening a door. With the help of many different structures, neurons, for the most
part, let us communicate efficiently. (cite, book)
The nervous system is made up of two sections, the Central Nervous System, which is composed of
the brain, cerebellum, and the spinal cord. Whereas, the Peripheral Nervous System contains nerves
that allows your body to move, also known as sensory and motor nerves.
Similar to other cells, neurons inhabit a cell body, called the soma, which includes a nucleus.

Sharks
What do you think of when you hear the word Shark ? Do you think of the lion of the ocean or
perhaps God s perfect predator/scavenger? Perhaps you think of the movie JAWS ? Most people will
think of the movie JAWS and think killer, attacker, and predator. However, are sharks really preying
on humans? I view sharks as God s perfect predator and scavenger. Sharks, like lions, weed out the
sick and slow fish to keep the population strong. They also scavenge on the bottom of the ocean any
carcasses that settle there. The attacks on humans are more likely the shark tasting to see if the
movement is a fish. When the shark realizes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both these sharks feed on fish and the Great White is also known to feed on larger prey. The Great
White Sharks have been known to attack humans swimming and surfing in the seas. The Tiger Shark
is approximately 4.5 meters long and has a reputation for eating a wide range of animals and even
inanimate objects. They have found license plates in the stomach of a Tiger Shark. Because of its
discernment regarding food, this shark is one of the most dangerous ones for human attacks. The Sand
Tiger Shark, not to be confused with the Tiger Shark, even though large, is relatively peaceful and will
only attack if provoked. The Nurse Shark will reach approximately 4.3 meters and favor shallow
temperate waters. The Blue Shark prefers the deep, cooler waters of the tropical and temperate oceans.
They can give birth to large litters from 25 to 100 pups at one time. The Mako Shark vary in length
between 2.7 to 4.5 meters. These sharks are in the same family as the Great White Sharks so they can
be fairly aggressive. The most aggressive shark is the Bull Shark. This shark is known as being
unpredictable and aggressive even towards humans. Many of the attacks and fatalities recorded each
year is from this shark. The Bull Shark is found in warm, shallow waters and can live in both
freshwater and saltwater environments. In fact, it is said that JAWS was based on a Bull Shark, but

Sugarloaf Mountain Resort Court Cases
On March 21, 2015, Reuters reported that the King Pine lift at Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Resort
malfunctioned. Nine chairs travelled backwards on the cable, injuring seven people; three of whom
required hospitalization for non threatening injuries. Sugarloaf experienced a similar incident on
December 28, 2010. (Cavalier, 2015) Bangor Daily News reported that eight individuals were
hospitalized for injuries as a result of the derailment of the Spillway East chairlift. Rick Tounge, one
of the eight injured, stated, I think we re pretty conscious of the risk we think we re taking (in skiing),
and that involves trees and other skiers and that stuff. You don t expect the chair to try and kill you.
(Portland Press Herald, 2011) Michael Katz filed suit against Sugarloaf Mountain Resort on the
following six causes of action: I. negligence, II. common carrier liability, III. strict product liability,
IV. breach of warranty, V. loss of consortium, VI. punitive damages. The defendants moved for

The Conscience Of Huckleberry Finn Moral Essay
In the article The Conscience of Huckleberry Finn , Jonathan Bennett discusses the conscience of
Huckleberry Finn, Heinrich Himmler and Jonathan Edwards. For the purposes of this essay I will
focus on the argument of Huckleberry Finn. Bennett concedes that that there is a relationship between
sympathy and bad morality .
Sympathy : I use this term to cover every sort of fellow feeling, as when one feels pity over someone s
loneliness, or horrified compassion over his pain, or when one feels a shrinking reluctance to act in a
way which will bring misfortune to someone else.
Bad morality a morality of one s own a set of principles of action which he sincerely assents to, acting

To which I would argue is a flawed perspective to have so much confidence in as it offers no feasible
solution to the moral issue at hand. In the case of the wife, the husband continues to circulate illegal
images online and begins to defile innocent children. This is due to the sympathy the wife had for her
husband, whom she loved. In the case of the child getting a vaccine, the mother spared her daughter
the two minute discomfort of receiving a flu shot but at the expense of being bed ridden for due to the
flu and recovery time during her Christmas break. Choosing sympathy is an immediate solution to a
problem that demands more. This is why Bennett is flawed in his

Winston Churchill s Accomplishments During Ww2
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every
difficulty. This quote by an iconic and one of the most beloved leaders to ever live, Sir Winston
Churchill, explains the dire need to stay positive in any situation possible. Winston Churchill was the
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom throughout the 1940s and 50s. His superb Leadership skills is
one of the main reasons why World War 2 came to an end. Mr. Churchill had an abundant amount of
accomplishments during his lifetime. For instance, in 1953, Churchill was knighted by Queen
Elizabeth the 2nd. The same year he was named the recipient of the Nobel Prize in literature ( Winston
Churchill 1). There were social, economic, and cultural influences on Winston Churchill which

When he visited America, he saw the warmth and welcomeness of the country, and knew he had to
convince them to help Britain win the war effort. All of these influences affected his achievements in
many ways. Who knows if he would of had the same fate without these influences? Winston Churchill

Essay on Trojan War
Did the Trojan War occur?
The existence of a war in Troy is undeniable; however it is not the Trojan war of Homer s Iliad. It is
believed that Homer s account may have been based on a real event therefore having some truth but
due to the mythological nature of the source, the unreliability of oral transmission and the exaggerated
romantic theme, the account is not a valid source for historians. Written evidence such as the Hittite
records and the different theories presented by archaeologists Schliemann, Dorpfield, Blegen and
Korfmann strongly suggest the occurrence of a war in troy and have some links to the Iliad. Despite
these links, there is only enough evidence to support the existence of a war in Troy but not explicitly

Heinrich Schliemann was one of the first archaeologists who discovered the site based on geological
descriptions in Homer s Iliad. Through the excavation of the site, Schliemann uncovered nine major
layers on the mound and concluded that level 2 was Homer s Troy. Archaeologists who came later
criticised Schliemann s amateurish excavation methods and concluded that level two was too early to
be the Homeric Troy. Despite Schliemann s destruction and false claims of the site, his discovery of
Hissarlik proved that there is some truth to Homer s account and deserves some credit for setting the
foundation for archaeologists such as Blegen, Dorpfield and Korfmann. Schliemann s discovery of the
site proved that there is no doubt Troy existed and that the city s destruction was definite.
Wilhelm Dorpfield was one of many archaeologists who began excavations and studies at Hissarlik.
Level VI was the level that Dorpfield believes is the legendary Troy. He argued that Level VI fitted
Homer s description as being a grand city surrounded by high limestone walls. However, there was no
evidence of Greek camps outside the walls of the city that supported Homer s account of a ten year
siege, thus leading us to conclude that Level VIIa must ve been the Homeric Troy. Layers of charcoal
uncovered by Korfmann that dated to roughly 1250 BC, the approximate end of Homer s Troy is
evidence of fire

herbivore. Meaning that not all species that are classified as Carnivora eat meat, but all do have

Teratogenic Effects Of Alcohol On Fetus
Effects of Alcohol on Fetus
Teratogen Defined. Alcohol consumption during pregnancy is known to have teratogenic effects.
Teratogen means that a particular agent is known to cause abnormalities on a developing embryo. The
teratogenic effect the alcohol will have on the embryo is highly dependent on dose and frequency of
consumption. As stated in the medical journal, Alcohol Abuse In Women, Exposure to heavy drinking
(over 48 60 gr. ethanol/day) may cause fetal alcohol syndrome; exposure to moderately high drinking,
between 24 48 gr. ethanol/day which may result mostly in alcohol effects.... (Ornoy, Ergaz 2010).

These three Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders may have mild to severe effects on the fetus. Fetal
Alcohol Syndrome, is known for the physical abnormalities it causes. Children with Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome have abnormal facial features, such as a smooth ridge between the nose and upper lip, small
head size, shorter than average height and low body weight. FAS also causes problems in the central
nervous system and may cause a wide range of behavioral issues (CDC,2015). Alcohol Related
Neurodevelopmental Disorder has properties that may not be readily visible right after birth. The
reason being that the disorder is based on the effects it has on the child intellectually and behaviorally.
These effects are prominently seen when the child is older. These children have difficulties with math,
memory, attention, judgment, and impulse control (CDC, 2015). The last Fetal Alcohol Spectrum
Disorder that will be discussed is Alcohol Related Birth Defects (ARBD). The defects associated with
this disorder are problems with the heart, kidneys, bones and hearing. Other consequences of alcohol
consumption while pregnant include spontaneous abortion, sleep and sucking problems as a baby, and
death. All of these consequences can be easily prevented if a mother chooses to abstain from drinking
while she is pregnant.

People in the 21st century do not exercise nearly enough. Most Americans are overweight or obese.
This can lead to many health problems such as high blood pressure and heart attacks. Children are not
exercising nearly enough. Children are glued to smartphones and other electronics. This is bad for
their generation and other generations. The use of electronics and the lack of exercise leads to kids

Essay about Upton Sinclair And The Chicago Meat-Packing...
Upton Sinclair and the Chicago Meat packing Industry
In 1900, there were over 1.6 million people living in Chicago, the country s second largest city. Of
those 1.6 million, nearly 30% were immigrants. Most immigrants came to the United States with little
or no money at all, in hope of making a better life for themselves. A city like Chicago offered these
people jobs that required no skill. However, the working and living conditions were hazardous and the
pay was barely enough to survive on. This is the bases for Upton Sinclair s book, The Jungle. Sinclair
agreed to investigate working conditions in Chicago s meatpacking plants, for the Socialist journal,
Appeal to Reason, in 1904. The Jungle, published in 1906, is ... Show more content on

They needed help from the government and local community. In other words, machine politics.
Politicians played an important role in the political machine. In order to maintain this role, they
received substantial kickbacks from the owners of the factories. They would recruit people to help the
immigrants become citizens of the United States, and then pay the immigrants to vote for a specific
candidate, often several times. Before the Progressive Party materialized, there were just the
Democrats and the Republicans, and the one got the office which bought the most votes. Readers were
not concerned with the treatment of workers, as portrayed by The Jungle, because they really didn t
care for the working class, or more specifically, immigrants. However, readers were shocked when
they discovered exactly how their meat was processed and prepared. Sinclair used just as much, if not
more, gruesome detail in describing the products the American public was consuming, as he did when
describing the workplace, living conditions, politics, society and Chicago s scenery. In a futile attempt
to build up the readers sympathy toward the wage slaves, Sinclair also details the process in which
foods not related to the meat packing industry are prepared. For example, he writes, their pale blue
milk...was watered, and doctored with formaldehyde. The controversy over food

Kangaroo Body
The care of preterm infants has and is becoming more of a burden and a challenge for healthcare
systems around the world. Annually, there are millions of preterm births taking place; the World
Health Organization (WHO) reports: 15 million babies are prematurely born annually in the world
(Mitchell, 2013). Of these 15 million babies there too comes dysfunctions and more hands on care for

Measuring the outcomes by the vital signs listed are a great indication of supporting the evidence of
kangaroo care because these are vital to the survival and later life outcomes of the preterm neonate.
Not only does kangaroo care provide benefits to vital signs, pain improvements and lowering of stress
levels but it is also seen in decreasing incidence of infection rates, Lawnet al. concluded that kangaroo
mother care in the first week of life showed a significant reduction in neonatal mortality (relative risk

hospital, and was highly effective in reducing severe morbidity, particularly from infection (Samra,

Roulette Chapter 3.1 Summary
Chapter 3.1: History of Probability . Roulette Roulette is a game where a person plays not against
another person but against a wheel. Roulette has thirty eight compartments where 1 36 are numbered
and are colored either black or red. The remaining two are numbered 0 and 00 and are colored green.
People place their bets by placing their chips into their spots on the roulette table. Then the dealer
spins the wheel and drops a ball onto that spinning wheel and then the ball stops in one of the
compartments. The compartment that the ball lands in is the compartment on the table that wins as
well. Example: If someone bets $10 worth of chips onto number 8 compartment on the roulette
compartment and then the ball lands on the number 8 slot on the wheel then the person gets $10 35 =
$350. The reason that you multiple it by 35 is due to the 35 to 1 odds of landing on space 8. Cards ...

Bradley Rappa Philosophy
While teaching several courses as a graduate student at Syracuse University, Bradley Rappa figured
his life would eventually come back to teaching. What he did not predict was his 15 year career in the
film industry working on network television, independent films, and ultimately his own
documentaries. Looking back on his journey, he said, Without all of the experiences I ve had, I wouldn
t have ended up where I am now at Ithaca. Every single thing I ve done has led me to this place and I
can t say I would change any of it. Bradley Rappa teaches quite a few courses at Ithaca, including
Cinema Production Two, Advanced Cinema Production Non Fiction, and the course I m currently
taking; Activists and Environmental Media. Activism and environmental sustainability is a subject of
extreme importance to Rappa. When asked about how documentary work has changed his life, he
responded, My philosophy has changed dramatically from every single project that I ve worked on.
Even though I m open minded, and I know my philosophy will change, I do know that every project I
work on from now until I die will have something to do with sustainability. It is the most important

years working out of New York City, his wife told him that they had to leave because he was starting
to become a grumpy person. She said that they could go anywhere in the world, and he could pick
where, but they just couldn t stay in New York. Bradley chose to move to Colorado because at the
time, he was making a documentary there. In Colorado, he got back into education; a path, which

Ghosts Are The Spirits Of The Dead
Specter, spirit, banshee, poltergeist, apparition, phantom, or spook, call them what you wish, but the
general most common term for these creatures are ghosts. The word ghost has many connotations
connected to it in the American culture. One could mean the scary or friendly fictional ghosts of
Halloween or one could mean the more serious and controversial creature, the spirit of a dead person
stuck in between earth and the afterlife. Even if one doesn t believe in them, one is very likely to
encounter one in the American culture, whether it is through knowing people who believe they have
encountered ghosts, or through media such as movies or books. Ghosts have been entangled in our
history and culture. There are so many different definitions and views on these creatures. Thus the
issue of the cultural importance of ghosts in America is unresolved because of entertainment views,
scientific evidence or lack of, and religious views. From a traditional stand point, ghosts are the spirits
of the dead. Stephen Wagner from About.com claims that ghosts are a common part of the human
experience. In his article, Ghosts: What Are They? , Wagner categorizes the common views of ghosts.
The first is that they are the spirits of dead people that for some reason are stuck between this world
and the next, usually due to the result of a tragedy or trauma (Wagner 1). Another type of ghost is what
Wagner labels residual hauntings or recordings, ghosts that appear to be mere recordings on

Moai Creation
If we look around the island, we find evidence of a population that exhausted its resources. Most
likely, the prime culprit for the quick loss of natural resources was the frenzied pace of Moai
construction. It was an enormous effort to carve the Moai and transported to its final location. Given
the rate of consumption to meet the demand for statue construction, natural resources were used up
before there was time for renewal; however, Moai creation would not be the only reason for the
resource depletion. Other sustaining activities like farming, shelter construction, tool creation, and
boat making would utilize the same resource; however, those activities were essential to support the
growing population.
Furthermore, there are no awe inspiring monuments, memorials, or commemorations specifically

Monument to the Conquerors of Space in Moscow Russia is the closest thing in this world to generate
the awe and inspiration desired by the key stakeholder, but does that go far enough? Not one

Tactical Training Essay
Since day one in the Army, we have all heard leaders use phrases such as train as you fight and train to
standard . Surprisingly these are not just some catchy phrases that someone made up to motivate
soldiers. These phrases, and many more come directly out of an Army manual, the ADP 7 0 to be
precise. So why are we talking about this? Well, to paraphrase ADP 7 0, unit training is the life blood
of the Army. (Headquarters, D.A., 2012) Train as you will fight; ADP 7 0 defines this as training under
an expected operational environment for the mission . It goes on to talk about establishing things that
a unit can expect to face in an operational environment. I think we as a whole have become very good
at this over the last 15 years. With ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a much larger threat to us as aviators then we are used to dealing with, and we cannot
continue to rely on the same tactics to keep us save. So what must we do? This is where we have to
change the way we think, act, and fight. Tactical training needs to become as important as our
emergency procedure (EP) training is to us. When training EP s, we train the maneuvers to the point
that rote memorization turns into understanding and correlation, you don t even have to think about
what to do, it is just instinctive. Unfortunately, we do not share the same thoughts when it comes to
tactical training. It has been argued that when your aircraft is engaged by the enemy you are now in an
emergency, so why not treat it the same as a mechanical malfunction?(US, DOT, FAA, 2008) The
importance of realistic tactical training goes back to the train as you fight saying. It will allow us as
aviators to fine tune our skills not only as individuals but as teams as well. That way, when we are
faced with a real life scenario, it is not the first time we are thinking about it and everyone knows what
everyone else is going to do. Ultimately the most important part of using realistic training is so we can
bring everyone back home

Why Is Robin Hood Outlaw
Robin Hood by Howard Pyle, is a book about an outlaw. The outlaw s name is Robin Hood, but it
used to be Robert of Lockley before he became an outlaw. Robin Hood became an outlaw because he
killed one of the King s deer and killed a man. In chapter 2, it says Robin Hood is the leader of 140
merrymen plus Little John, who is his second in command. The place they come and go to is the Blue
Boar, a tavern. In chapter 3 the Sheriff of Nottingham goes to London to see King Henry and Queen
Eleanor. The King got mad at the Sheriff for not being able to capture Robin Hood while having a lot
of troops to help him out, so the Sheriff storms out of London with rage and plans to capture Robin
Hood by hosting an archery tournament. The prize of the tournament would be a golden arrow. Robin
went, didn t get caught, won the golden arrow, and sent a small letter to the Sheriff. The letter said:
Now Heaven bless thy Grace this day Say all in sweet Sherwood For thou didst give the prize away to
merry Robin Hood. In chapter 4 the Sheriff decided to take an aggressive approach to capture Robin

Allusions Of Animals In Macbeth
In the same way that many people today might perceive crickets as lucky , or of black cats as unlucky
, most people in 16th and 17th century England, when William Shakespeare was alive and writing his
plays, had commonly held beliefs about what certain animals represented or symbolized. Shakespeare
is still read, performed and loved today because of his seemingly very deep understanding of human
nature, as well as his solid grasp on what his audience knew, understood, and could relate to. He used
this understanding when writing the play Macbeth, when he utilized allusions to commonly known
animals such as owls, ravens, and bears, to convey the creepy tone of the play as well as the
impending sense of dread that builds throughout the story. In this way, Shakespeare displays his ability
to use commonly held perceptions of different types of animals to convey his tone to people in all
classes of society in 16th and 17th century England. One of the animals that Shakespeare alluded to
heavily in Macbeth is the owl. While Macbeth is off killing King Duncan, Lady Macbeth says, It was
the owl that shrieked, the fatal bellman, which gives the stern st good night, and then later, in the same
scene, Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth, I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry, (Shakespeare Act II,
scene ii). This animal based imagery evokes a sense of creepiness and evil, even in a modern
audience, despite the fact that most people think of owls in a more positive light now than they did
back then. In Shakespeare s time, the allusion would have been even more powerful. Although the owl
was praised as a symbol of Athena in Ancient Greece, the people in Europe in the Middle Ages
thought of it as sinister and shady, due to the fact that it only comes out to hunt in the dark, and its
feathers and wings are constructed so that it can fly completely silently. That sort of mindset carried
into the 16th and 17th centuries, where the owls still carried a deceitful and wicked connotation (Rijks
1). Since owls were widely perceived in such a way in that time period, people in the audience would
assume, possibly even subconsciously, that bad and evil things were happening onstage if there were
references being made to owls, the

  • 2. Coaching Track Essay Coaching Track Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a successful track coach and coach your protégés to a successful season? Through job shadowing, personal experience, and research, I have found out just how much hard work goes into coaching. Of the more than twenty million Americans who are running today, most who start do so for the wrong reasons, with the wrong attitude, and tend to lose interest after a few weeks or months. Many quit. This is usually because they become concerned with superficial goals such as time and distance and never discover the more profound mental benefits that running offers. (Lilliefors 15) To be a successful coach, the first thing a coach has to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When asked why don t they do the same workouts, he said, You guys are different runners, he might need to work on the speed aspect of running, while you already have that part down. You might need to work on the form aspect of running, and he has that down. So why would you guys be doing the same workout, when it would only benefit one of you (Washington). Not only does a coach prepare athletes body but also their minds. A coach prepares the athletes mind by getting them to think about what they are going to be doing before there event comes up. If one were to look at Maurice Green before a race, one would notice that he is very concentrated and thinking about what he needs to do to win. Another example of that would be football or basketball players. Before the game, each athlete has his or her own ritual before game time. That concentration is called getting in the zone. What I do know is how to get you in the best shape of your life so that you ll be stronger and more explosive than you ve ever been. I can also help you prepare your mind for competition (Connolly 14). When one becomes a track coach, one has to make many important decisions concerning their athletes. When accessing an athlete, the coach will have to decide what events will work best for the athlete, and the team. If an athlete gets injured, the coach will have to decide whether or not the athlete should compete ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Modernization and Dependency Theory Modernization and Dependency theory Nowadays the rapid development of the word and the growing integration of countries can hardly fail to affect the development of new theories which attempt to explain the relationship between countries and the existing inequality between developed countries and countries of the third world. In this respect, it is possible to refer to Modernization theory and Dependency theory which, being quite different, still have certain similarities in their views on the modern world and relationships between developed and developing countries. It is worthy of mention that the comparison of these theories will help better understand the current trends in international relations and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, differences between Modernization theory and Dependency theory result from the origin of Dependency theory which, as it has been already mentioned above, was developed in response to Modernization theory. On analyzing existing differences between the two theories, first of all, it is necessary to underline that Modernization theory views the development of the world and relationships between developed and developing countries as the relationships of potentially equal countries which are just at a different stage of development at the moment. To put it more precisely, Modernization theory stands on the ground that western countries are well developed and western way of development is viewed as the most successful and perspective while there is practically no other alternatives to this way of the development. This is why the supporters of this theory insist on the necessity to develop the cooperation between developed and developing countries in order to make the latter closer to the former. What is meant here is the fact that Modernization theory underlines the necessity of borrowing the experience of western countries by developing countries of the Third world (Scott 196). Basically, developing countries should follow blindly the example of more developed western countries and this will bring them economic, social, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Declaration Of Freedom Happy Fourth! Brief on the Declaration of God over the USA! What is freedom? Except that which is granted to us by the most high God, our freedom is constrained by the powers of men. On July 4th, 1776 an idea was born that free men were not to be under the control of a tyrannical government and thus birthed the idea that created a nation. What is often not talked about was how did these colonists formulate their freedom if they were the loyal subjects of his majesty the King? The freedom that existed within these Men was one that no King is granted Authority over, no instead, our freedom is granted to us by The King of Kings, Lord of Lords! Is it because our forefathers declared independence from one of the greatest nations of the World? I would argue that Independence Day should be celebrated as a reminder to all who believe that we declare our independence from the world as Members of Gods kingdom. We declare that our freedom is granted by the Son of God who died for us. We can never forget that being in fellowship of the Son means rejection of the world. Our forefathers understood that no man can control Gods Creation. So we must remember that this nation of the World is just that, of the World....... Pray for the morality of America, the immediate halt of secularism and the pledge of Allegiance to he that controls the wealth of worlds. In this time of trouble remember, freedom is lost to those who lose hope. My hope comes from the Lord and can never be Lost for God the Father is my strength, is my shield; he loves me and he will never forsake me! God Bless the USA, God Bless this nation of disobedient children, God Bless the Churches holding the candle in these End Times, God Bless those who will fight the battle for eternal freedom. Together we can say, In Order to form a more perfect union, We the People of Gods kingdom do solemnly declare that there is no other Gods before us, that there is no other Love greater than one who dies for his friends, and that God Loves all of us even to the death of his Son! • 5. Essay On 15th Century American Education When we mention the 15th century personally, I look at that particular part of history as the bridge between the previous middle ages and the early Renaissance. A physician by the name Cardano insisted that people with hearing differences can nevertheless; be provided with education. The hearing impaired is capable of thinking as well. Being that the 15th century, only has two parts of Europe, that s a small example how what we know today as simple minds, our ancestors was about the time, being that the rule of the government was so simple. It brought an ordinance and sometimes structure irrational, leaving people whom aren t normal to go without at time and education. For the hearing or visually impaired one of those unfortunate mishaps was understood they were incapable of learning so for Cardano to oppose the natural state of being was appreciated highly for those in need. Not very much liked by superiors who classified the government so they opposed by all means to not look weak until Cardano s method proved itself. ... • 6. Pygmalion Vs Makeover Essay Pygmalion Vs. The Makeover Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw, is a play written in 1912 based off of the Ancient Greek myth, Pygmalion. The play is about a girl named Eliza who is transformed from a nearly homeless, ill mannered girl to a beautiful lady by two well off men; this is similar to the Pygmalion myth of a man creating his ideal woman out of ivory. The Makeover is a movie intended to re make George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion. Although The Makeover does an outstanding job at depicting the underlying themes and holding similar to the plotline of Pygmalion, there are still several differences between the two pieces of work. Although the main events of both plotlines are identical, the movie sways from the play on several accounts. In Pygmalion, the protagonist being made over is a girl and her transformers are two well off men; while in The Makeover the protagonist being made over is a man and his transformers are two well off women. • 7. Unions And The Freedom Of Collective Bargaining Right to Work provides no rights and no work ...It s purpose is to destroy labor unions and the freedom of collective bargaining (Martin Luther King). The roots of labor unions in the United States dates back to the late 18th Century, when skilled craftsmen joined forces against low product prices. Since then, labor unions have been practical to both the economy and the people which it employes. It has allowed laborers to make great strides in the protection of rights in their work. It has also increased wages, causing a strengthening of the middle class. Because of the benefits to the workers, an increase in wages, making a stronger middle class , and its historic success for the economy in struggling times , unionization is generally a better option than non unionization. The essential reason why unions exist is for the benefits of its workers. Throughout the history of the United States labor unions have been created to protect the working class from harsh conditions and low wages. For example, the American Federation of Labor (AFL) formed to lobby to raise the workers wages, and improve the conditions in which they worked. But more important in the long run was the permanent stamp that the AFL made on the American labour movement...and the objective of trade unionism became exclusively the incremental achievement of higher wages and better working conditions (Organized Labour). Do you think of the lion of the ocean or perhaps God s perfect predator/scavenger? Perhaps you think of the movie JAWS ? Most people will think of the movie JAWS and think killer, attacker, and predator. However, are sharks really preying on humans? I view sharks as God s perfect predator and scavenger. Sharks, like lions, weed out the sick and slow fish to keep the population strong. They also scavenge on the bottom of the ocean any carcasses that settle there. The attacks on humans are more likely the shark tasting to see if the movement is a fish. When the shark realizes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Sand Tiger Shark, not to be confused with the Tiger Shark, even though large, is relatively peaceful and will only attack if provoked. The Nurse Shark will reach approximately 4.3 meters and favor shallow temperate waters. The Blue Shark prefers the deep, cooler waters of the tropical and temperate oceans. They can give birth to large litters from 25 to 100 pups at one time. The Mako Shark vary in length between 2.7 to 4.5 meters. These sharks are in the same family as the Great White Sharks so they can be fairly aggressive. The most aggressive shark is the Bull Shark. This shark is known as being unpredictable and aggressive even towards humans. Many of the attacks and fatalities recorded each year is from this shark. Nine chairs travelled backwards on the cable, injuring seven people; three of whom required hospitalization for non threatening injuries. Sugarloaf experienced a similar incident on December 28, 2010. (Cavalier, 2015) Bangor Daily News reported that eight individuals were hospitalized for injuries as a result of the derailment of the Spillway East chairlift. Rick Tounge, one of the eight injured, stated, I think we re pretty conscious of the risk we think we re taking (in skiing), and that involves trees and other skiers and that stuff. You don t expect the chair to try and kill you. The Conscience Of Huckleberry Finn Moral Essay In the article The Conscience of Huckleberry Finn , Jonathan Bennett discusses the conscience of Huckleberry Finn, Heinrich Himmler and Jonathan Edwards. For the purposes of this essay I will focus on the argument of Huckleberry Finn. Bennett concedes that that there is a relationship between sympathy and bad morality . Sympathy : I use this term to cover every sort of fellow feeling, as when one feels pity over someone s loneliness, or horrified compassion over his pain, or when one feels a shrinking reluctance to act in a way which will bring misfortune to someone else. Bad morality a morality of one s own a set of principles of action which he sincerely assents to, acting well or rightly or in obedience to conscience is the problem ... In the case of the child getting a vaccine, the mother spared her daughter the two minute discomfort of receiving a flu shot but at the expense of being bed ridden for due to the flu and recovery time during her Christmas break. Winston Churchill was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom throughout the 1940s and 50s. His superb Leadership skills is one of the main reasons why World War 2 came to an end. Mr. Churchill had an abundant amount of accomplishments during his lifetime. For instance, in 1953, Churchill was knighted by Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. • 13. Essay on Trojan War Did the Trojan War occur? The existence of a war in Troy is undeniable; however it is not the Trojan war of Homer s Iliad. It is believed that Homer s account may have been based on a real event therefore having some truth but due to the mythological nature of the source, the unreliability of oral transmission and the exaggerated romantic theme, the account is not a valid source for historians. Written evidence such as the Hittite records and the different theories presented by archaeologists Schliemann, Dorpfield, Blegen and Korfmann strongly suggest the occurrence of a war in troy and have some links to the Iliad. Heinrich Schliemann was one of the first archaeologists who discovered the site based on geological descriptions in Homer s Iliad. Through the excavation of the site, Schliemann uncovered nine major layers on the mound and concluded that level 2 was Homer s Troy. Archaeologists who came later criticised Schliemann s amateurish excavation methods and concluded that level two was too early to be the Homeric Troy. Despite Schliemann s destruction and false claims of the site, his discovery of Hissarlik proved that there is some truth to Homer s account and deserves some credit for setting the foundation for archaeologists such as Blegen, Dorpfield and Korfmann. Schliemann s discovery of the site proved that there is no doubt Troy existed and that the city s destruction was definite. Wilhelm Dorpfield was one of many archaeologists who began excavations and studies at Hissarlik. Level VI was the level that Dorpfield believes is the legendary Troy. He argued that Level VI fitted Homer s description as being a grand city surrounded by high limestone walls. However, there was no evidence of Greek camps outside the walls of the city that supported Homer s account of a ten year siege, thus leading us to conclude that Level VIIa must ve been the Homeric Troy. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, is known for the physical abnormalities it causes. Children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome have abnormal facial features, such as a smooth ridge between the nose and upper lip, small head size, shorter than average height and low body weight. FAS also causes problems in the central nervous system and may cause a wide range of behavioral issues (CDC,2015). Alcohol Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder has properties that may not be readily visible right after birth. The reason being that the disorder is based on the effects it has on the child intellectually and behaviorally. These effects are prominently seen when the child is older. These children have difficulties with math, memory, attention, judgment, and impulse control (CDC, 2015). The last Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder that will be discussed is Alcohol Related Birth Defects (ARBD). The defects associated with this disorder are problems with the heart, kidneys, bones and hearing. Upton Sinclair and the Chicago Meat packing Industry In 1900, there were over 1.6 million people living in Chicago, the country s second largest city. Of those 1.6 million, nearly 30% were immigrants. Most immigrants came to the United States with little or no money at all, in hope of making a better life for themselves. A city like Chicago offered these people jobs that required no skill. However, the working and living conditions were hazardous and the pay was barely enough to survive on. Before the Progressive Party materialized, there were just the Democrats and the Republicans, and the one got the office which bought the most votes. Sinclair used just as much, if not more, gruesome detail in describing the products the American public was consuming, as he did when describing the workplace, living conditions, politics, society and Chicago s scenery. The word ghost has many connotations connected to it in the American culture. One could mean the scary or friendly fictional ghosts of Halloween or one could mean the more serious and controversial creature, the spirit of a dead person stuck in between earth and the afterlife. Even if one doesn t believe in them, one is very likely to encounter one in the American culture, whether it is through knowing people who believe they have encountered ghosts, or through media such as movies or books. • 31. Allusions Of Animals In Macbeth In the same way that many people today might perceive crickets as lucky , or of black cats as unlucky , most people in 16th and 17th century England, when William Shakespeare was alive and writing his plays, had commonly held beliefs about what certain animals represented or symbolized. Shakespeare is still read, performed and loved today because of his seemingly very deep understanding of human nature, as well as his solid grasp on what his audience knew, understood, and could relate to. He used this understanding when writing the play Macbeth, when he utilized allusions to commonly known animals such as owls, ravens, and bears, to convey the creepy tone of the play as well as the impending sense of dread that builds throughout the story. In this way, Shakespeare displays his ability to use commonly held perceptions of different types of animals to convey his tone to people in all classes of society in 16th and 17th century England. One of the animals that Shakespeare alluded to heavily in Macbeth is the owl. While Macbeth is off killing King Duncan, Lady Macbeth says, It was the owl that shrieked, the fatal bellman, which gives the stern st good night, and then later, in the same scene, Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth, I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry, (Shakespeare Act II, scene ii). This animal based imagery evokes a sense of creepiness and evil, even in a modern audience, despite the fact that most people think of owls in a more positive light now than they did back then. In Shakespeare s time, the allusion would have been even more powerful. Although the owl was praised as a symbol of Athena in Ancient Greece, the people in Europe in the Middle Ages thought of it as sinister and shady, due to the fact that it only comes out to hunt in the dark, and its feathers and wings are constructed so that it can fly completely silently. That sort of mindset carried into the 16th and 17th centuries, where the owls still carried a deceitful and wicked connotation (Rijks 1). Since owls were widely perceived in such a way in that time period, people in the audience would assume, possibly even subconsciously, that bad and evil things were happening onstage if there were references being made to owls, the ...
