John Cadbury established Cadbury in Birmingham, England in 1824. Cadbury grew to become a British multinational confectionery company and the largest chocolate producer in the UK, until it was acquired by Kraft Foods in 2009. In India, Cadbury leads the chocolate market with over 55% share. While India's chocolate sales are growing, Indians consume the least amount of chocolate per capita among emerging markets at around 117 grams per year.
