I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in 2011 at Empire State College. My BS was in Business and Economics
with a concentration in Human Resource Management.
Why the MALET Program?
I am interested in learning more about the various forms of technology available to enhance the learning
environment in my workplace. I am interested in the topics of social, ethical and legal issues related to
learning automation. By receiving formal training in these areas, I will have a better understanding of
how these items impact businesses today and ways I can incorporate these tools into the existing learning
culture at my organization.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I work for United Rentals, Inc. as Manager, Learning and HR Systems within the Human Resources
department. I have been with the company since 2003.
In my position, I oversee web-based training for over 13,000 employees nationwide, as well as in Canada.
One of my major accomplishments to date with UR was implementing the first eLearning offering back
in 2004. Today web-based training makes up the largest source of training for our employees
companywide. In the current learning environment, offerings include eLearning courses, games,
simulations, interactive exercises, assessments, and videos. We are also beginning to look into mobile
learning as an additional learning solution.

• Oversee all aspects of the Learning Management System utilized by 13,000+ employees
• Develop content for various programs such as new employee orientation programs, customer service
programs, leadership development, safety, sales management, process improvement and other
courseware as needed to support company initiatives, create technical support and troubleshooting
manuals along with other training tools and reference guides as needed to support training and system
implementations
• Measure progress to evaluate effectiveness of training and communicate results through various
analytics
• Conduct training needs analysis
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary training and development theory and methods
through emerging technology

  • 3. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in 2011 at Empire State College. My BS was in Business and Economics with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Why the MALET Program? I am interested in learning more about the various forms of technology available to enhance the learning environment in my workplace. I am interested in the topics of social, ethical and legal issues related to learning automation. By receiving formal training in these areas, I will have a better understanding of how these items impact businesses today and ways I can incorporate these tools into the existing learning culture at my organization.   • 4. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I work for United Rentals, Inc. as Manager, Learning and HR Systems within the Human Resources department. I have been with the company since 2003. In my position, I oversee web-based training for over 13,000 employees nationwide, as well as in Canada. One of my major accomplishments to date with UR was implementing the first eLearning offering back in 2004. Today web-based training makes up the largest source of training for our employees companywide. In the current learning environment, offerings include eLearning courses, games, simulations, interactive exercises, assessments, and videos. We are also beginning to look into mobile learning as an additional learning solution. 2003 Hired by Human Resources as eLearning Manager 2007 Promoted to Manager, Training & Development 2010 Promoted to Manager, Learning & HR Systems
  • 5. Title: Manager, Learning& HR Systems • Oversee all aspects of the Learning Management System utilized by 13,000+ employees • Develop content for various programs such as new employee orientation programs, customer service programs, leadership development, safety, sales management, process improvement and other courseware as needed to support company initiatives, create technical support and troubleshooting manuals along with other training tools and reference guides as needed to support training and system implementations • Measure progress to evaluate effectiveness of training and communicate results through various analytics • Conduct training needs analysis • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary training and development theory and methods through emerging technology MY CURRENT ROLE
