Internet Marketing (Research Design Report Include)
Research Statement This report will asses the effectiveness of various internet marketing
approaches effecting profitability.
Purpose
The purpose of this report is to explore new strategies that have emerged resulting from companies
marketing their products on the wide range of the World Wide Web.
Background and Significance
The World Wide Web was invented in 1989 by Tim Berners Lee ( World Wide Web, 2006, Para. 1). He
started a whole new way of doing things in business. Companies now can use the power of the internet
to sell their products. Today thousands of sites can advertise their goods on websites such as Myspace,
Facebook, and such search engines like Google. Many of these sites offer free ... Show more content

2). There are many different ways to catch and pull in the clientele that a company is searching for, but
before choosing what type of internet marketing approach is best for the company s money, the
marketing team must know some basic steps. They should start off by finding a target market and look
into regional ad buys, also they ought to research discounts that internet sources are offering (
Advertising isn t cheap, n.d., para.1 4).
One good way to start is by advertising on large search engines such as Yahoo, Google, and Web
Crawler. This is called paid keyword search and contextual adverting, but much larger known as SEM
which is the abbreviation for Search Engine Marketing. This is an ideal way for the small businessman
or business owner to get the most bang out of his or hers buck. A business owner can buy little ads that
come up when one searches a related topic to their product. For instance, a company is specializing in
manufacturing windows and siding. If a person is looking to replace their windows or siding and is
searching a search engine to figure out how to go about doing it, when that person enters the keyword
siding a little ad for that company specializing in that product or service is going to come up. SEM
adverting is a fast growing way to advertise. It is so fast that

Sun Tzu Research Paper
It can be an interesting fact for Non Chinese speakers or even for the Chinese themselves, as I believe
and as it seems. Almost all of us think that Sun s last name is Tzu, but the truth it is not. Sun s real
name is Sun Wu and Tzu is just an honorific particle name that was given to him, as it is believed that
he deserves it and I personally believe that too. Tzu in Chinese means Master and someone who is a
extremely appreciated, respected, accomplished and skillful person in any field that would usually be
given as a title to them after their death. I believe that Sun Tzu really deserves this title, and let us say
that if there is an election for The book of the semester , I will definitely choose his book The Art of
War, between the 7

The Shawshank Redemption
In the resolution of The Shawshank Redemption, the valiant protagonist, Andy Dufresne sets his
ingenious escape plan into action, leaving everyone in utter wonderment. Over the course of nineteen
years, Andy spent most of his time in secret burrowing through his cell wall. All of this was hidden by
the poster of Rita Hayworth and Andy s introverted personality. Throughout Andy s time served in
prison no person except for, Andy, himself knew of his elaborate plan. On the night of the breakout,
Andy replaced the Warden s files with false copies, this was done easily as Andy had always managed
his money laundering scheme. He also swapped the Warden s shoes with his own, and stole one of his
suits. Once Andy destroyed the wall, he endured five hundred yards of crawling through a gruesome
sewage pipe and embraced his freedom when he escaped. As seen in the film, the Warden and the
guards were in sheer horror, unable to figure out what happened. Meanwhile, Andy is seen strolling
into Maine National Bank under the of Randall Stevens , the character he conjured up out of thin air.
Andy is also seen depositing money and dropping off mail to be delivered. It was later revealed that
the mail was sent to the newspaper revealing the corruption behind Shawshank State prison. The next
morning the tables completely turn and everything has taken a turn for the better. With Andy
successfully escaping and venturing off to Zihuatanejo, Captain Hadley is arrested, the Warden
committed suicide

The Aztec Culture of Sacrifice
Introduction The concept of sacrifice is a fundamental basis of almost every religion. However, its
manifestation in the form of human sacrifice is both more controversial and, as a result, rarely studied
by anthropologists today. As one scholar observes: The modern social anthropologist does not best
endear himself to the elite of the Third World by an obsessive interest in how great grandfather shrunk
the heads he hunted or in the quality of the wood needed to burn great grandmother alive (Davies,
1981, p.13).
While one may question the sense of humour evident here and even its implication of a racist subtext
it must be acknowledged that the role of human sacrifice in the history of religious practices is seldom
addressed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
86)? In order to interrogate these two theories of ritual sacrifice, the practice of human sacrifice must
be examined in a situation and on a scale where there can be no doubt of its significance within a
culture. In this regard, no better example of human sacrifice as a culture wide religious practice may
be found than the case of the Aztec civilization.
Human Sacrifice (b) Practice The Aztecs, it is believed, originated as a poor nomadic tribe from a
place in western Mexico they called Aztlan sometime in the 1300s. They probably never used the term
Aztec in reference to themselves, and were commonly known as Mexica . They moved into the Valley
of Mexico as squatters, and began making enemies of the more civilized peoples already living there
as a result of the Aztec taste for violence and human sacrifice (Coe, 1984, p.145 6). The Aztecs were,
in the words of one historian, despised by all (Weaver, 1972, p.239) neighbouring peoples for their
placing physical violence and bloodlust at the centre of their culture. For example, while their skill in
fighting led to their being employed as mercenaries, on one infamous occasion their chief was offered
the daughter of the King who currently employed the tribe. When the King arrived for the marriage
ceremony, he was confronted instead by a priest dancing about in his daughter s skin (Weaver, 1972,

A Brief Note On Moroccan Family Law Reform
Emily Schwartz
Introduction to International Studies
Research Paper
5 November 2014
Moroccan Family Law Reform
In modern Muslim societies, family law tends to serve as a powerful tool, and its regulation as a
political and social construction raises various questions about the political life and role for women.
Since 1958, the debate about women and there family status has taken a critical role in how the family
life in Muslim societies play out. Gender equality is a feature of the national constitution, yet the law
tends to continually restrict women s rights and their freedoms. It dictates the submissive role women
hold relative to male counterparts and also how the law limits what women may inherit or own. Even
when the law continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This improved the status of women in the private and public sphere of society. When women s rights
activists were advocating changes in family law, they used an Islamic framework to base their
mission.
Some reforms to the Mudawana was the participation of women in the family setting. Some of the
reforms that were achieved include the right of autonomous decision making in issues about legal
affairs without guardianship of a male. It also included equal responsibility for children and ownership
over the household and finances. These reforms provide a usable agglomeration of women s rights and
their voices within the Moroccan family setting (Kelly Breslin 2010). The assembly and
organizational success of the family law campaign in Morocco has been viewed as a positive model
for activists of women s rights in the Middle East and have been adopted in different cultures.
Under Mudawana law of 1950, women were considered minors under the guardianship of their male
guardian (Harrak 2009). Women could not be married without the signature and consent of her male
guardian, or wali. A woman could be legally married at the age of 15 while her male counterpart could
be married at the age of 18 (Sadiqi 2003). A woman could not be employed and could not obtain a
passport without the permission of her male guardian. Women could also lose custody of their children

Surgical Wound Essay
Although pilonidal sinus cannot be considered a debilitating disease, patients are confronted with
discomfort and a lower degree of quality of life due to some complications like the formation of
abscess, sinus related drainage, and pain12,13. The recurrence is often due to the omission of any tract
during the initial operation, infection of the wound, or abscess formation, that may lead to the
formation of the new sinus tract inside the cicatrizing surgical wound. Accumulation of debris or dead
tissue in the intergluteal cleft, sweating, friction or poor hygiene are the predisposing factors for
recurrence14. Also, placing the suture line on the midline with considerable tension on the line and

responsibility increases as we take on more responsible roles such as being a coach. Duty of Care is a
legal commitment to being responsible. First aid All Coaches should hold an appropriate First Aid
award to ensure they have the skills to appropriately treat an athlete if they are needed to. Coaches
must ensure they have all your health records encase something were to happen e.g. if you had
epilepsy and you suddenly began having a fit the coach would have to know what to do. Keeping
records One of the responsibilities of the coach is to keep records. Whilst you may not be directly
responsible for all of the following records, you may need to collect information about your
participants, your sessions, safety, accidents, venues etc. Coaches also have a responsibility to the
Data Protection Act (1998) that states only relevant and necessary information should be held, used
only for the purposes stated, not kept for longer than required, secured in a safe place, disposed of
securely, and not passed on without consent. Insurance If a coach fails to meet their duty of care and
someone becomes injured or suffers loss or damage, they can make a claim against the coach. It is
therefore vital that coaches have insurance to provide cover against claims. It is important that details

Summary Of The Killer Angels By Michael Shaara
Summary and analysis.
The Killer Angels, by Michael Shaara, tells the story of the Battle of Gettysburg. The story begins on
June 29, 1863. A spy comes to Longstreet and informed him I ve got the position of the Union Army,
they re coming in seven crops. I figure at least eighty thousand men, possibly as much as a hundred
thousand (The Killer Angels 8). General Jeb Stuart was supposed to be tracking the Union Army, so
this information surprises him. If the spy was right the army was in great danger (The Killer Angels
10). Longstreet thinks they Confederate Army must move north to intercept the Union Army. When
they do, they accidently change directions and get to a small town called Gettysburg. There, General
John Buford, leader of the Union cavalry, discovers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

On July 2nd, 1863 Chamberlain s regiment begins moving toward Gettysburg. On the way,
Chamberlain s regimen discovers an escaped slave, and Chamberlain muses on the reasons behind the
war and his thoughts on race. He wouldn t be a house servant. Look at his hands. Field hands,
Chamberlain said (The Killer Angels 169).
The next morning, July 3rd, Chamberlain s men moved to the center of the center of the Union line,
where they are supposed to be safe. At the Confederate camp, Longstreet tries to convince Lee to take
the army to Washington, D.C. but Lee refuses. Longstreet then agrees to attack the center of the line.
The Confederates began with an artillery barrage in an attempt to weaken the Union artillery on the
other side. Not much damage is dealt to the Union batteries, since the Confederate artillery shoots too
high. The Confederate attack began as the troops start marching across the open field toward the
Union troops. The Union fired cannons, blew huge holes in the Confederate line and killed hundreds
of men. Then the Union soldiers fire their guns, and killed hundreds more. The Confederates soon
retreat and the Battle of Gettysburg comes to its

Differences Between Forward Logistics And Reverse Logistics
1.1. Difference between Forward Logistics and Reverse Logistics:
Forward logistics (or conventional logistics) is the regular distribution channel followed by the
manufactures from time immemorial. Forward logistics concentrates on the products (goods or
services) reaching the consumer end and deals with the line of flow from the manufacturer s end to the
consumer s end. It deals with the very essence of Supply Chain Management and logistical activities
of an organization. It has a significant impact on the primary operations carried out, which act as the
basic revenue generating aspect of a business. In this logistical system, the flow is a one to many type
and the forecasting or traceability is quite simple.

Significance of Indian Beverage Industry with Reverse Logistics:
Indian food industry, with a net market value of around US$ 300 billion, is one of the major food
markets in the world. Looking at the contribution of the beverage sector in these statistics, we have
soft drink (carbonated and juices) market estimated at US$ 1 billion a year and health beverages
estimated at US$ 230 million, which is on a continuous verge of exponential growth.
It is expected that by 2021, India s projected population of 1.3 billion will constitute 64.2% of people
in between the age group of 15 and 59.
According to the global research firm Dun Bradstreet, an increasing pattern of income level when
coupled with the above statistics will give a growth of 9.1% of consumption of consumer goods in a
year.
In the Indian scenario, with relatively less importance given to efficient logistics, the market leaders in
beverage industry like Coca Cola, PepsiCo and Parlé Agro have their own well established strong
logistics network. The other small scale industries producing both carbonated and non carbonated soft
drinks in glass/ PET bottles or in Tetra Pak cartons have a comparatively well established third party
logistics system. They have the help of local providers in providing vehicles for small transfers which
help them in overcoming problems such as demands for bribes by retailers, security and other logistics

Another negative factor to this stereotype is due to individualism the idea of personal responsibility ;
society has come to believe that alcoholism has become a part of aboriginal people s genetic makeup

has often been used as the lens that society wears while considering the issue of alcoholism for many
aboriginal people. Tang gives an example of discrimination that a man felt when he visited the

Effects Of Drought On The Great Depression
In the 1930s, drought maintained its negative influence in all of the Plains for nearly 10 years. The
drought s primary characteristics of damage are regarded as agricultural for the most part. High
temperatures, lack of rain, insect infestations, and heavy winds all in unison with the dust storms that
accompanied these detrimental instances damaged countless crops. In addition to the Great Depression
s bank closures, various economic damages, increased unemployment, and other hardships, the
agricultural depression just worsened the situation in America. It is also important to note that the lack
of precipitation may have most likely affected the overall conditions of plant life and wildlife in a
negative manner, as well as caused potential shortages of water for various conventional purposes.
Although this almost always goes unnoticed by most readers, it is extremely important to
acknowledge such regressions as they appropriately contribute to the overall negative and destructive
connotation of the Dust Bowl in its respective era.
A total of four consecutive separate waves of droughts accompanied each other during the 30s: 1930
31, 1934, 1936, and 1939 1940 . Due to the incompetency of affected regions to adequately recover
from any of the recurring droughts, the entire series of droughts was thought of to be a single drought
by the inhabitants of affected areas. It was in the year 1932 when fourteen distinct dust storms were
reported, which rose to an astonishing 48 total

The Most Important Of Writers Developed With A New Type Of...
American Modernist writers experimented with a new type of fictional writing in the 1920 s through
the 1930 s during and after the war. One of the most important of these writers was John Dos Passos.
Dos Passos was a creative novelist where in his writing he analyzed his love/hate relationship with the
traditions of American life and consistently questioned the American dream (Wagner Martin). His full
name was John Roderigo Dos Passos. He was born on January 14th, 1896 in Chicago Illinois. His
father, John Randolph Dos Passos, was a wealthy lawyer who could afford to give him the best
education growing up. In 1907, he was sent to study at the Choate school in Wallingford, Connecticut
(Donne). He then went with a private tutor on a six month tour of France, England, Italy, Greece, and
the Middle East in order to study the masters of classic art, architecture, and literature (Donne). In
1913, he attended Harvard University. After he graduation in 1916, he traveled to Spain to study art
and architecture. After that, Dos Passos volunteered as an ambulance driver in World War I.
Experiences on the Western front confirmed Dos Passos in his belief that the war was a foolish waste
(Badertscher). When World War 1 demanded that writers deal with a world that was being disrupted in
many ways, novelists like John Dos Passos changed fiction by creating characters to emphasise the
individuals in society.
T John Dos Passos used his own experiences in the war to shape his views and

Republican Wisconsin Senator, Joseph R. Mccarthy Essay
Republican Wisconsin senator, Joseph R. McCarthy, was originally a quiet senator who was fairly
unknown and had done nothing extraordinary previous to 1950. The senator changed all that when he
delivered a speech in February 1950, in which he leveled allegations that the State Department
employed numerous Communists. He claimed to possess a list of these Communist employees,
although that list was never produced (Tindall, George Brown, and David Emory Shi). Senator
McCarthy s attempt to gain publicity with his outlandish accusations worked. Since the first Red Scare
years before the fifties, many Americans continued to be terrified of Communists and their potential
ability to corrupt and overrun America. Senator McCarthy played on these fears, and he continued to
claim communism had infiltrated every aspect of America; politics, culture and all of American
society. Because of the similarity of events from the first Red Scare, this time period of the early
fifties in America is often called the second Red Scare. The second Red Scare in America s history
actually began in the late forties, previous to McCarthy s emergence in 1950, and it continued on
throughout the fifties lasting at least a dozen years (Storrs, Landon R. Y.) McCarthy s short era during
the second Red Scare actually lasted only four years, but because of his outspoken and arrogant
persona, as well as his ability to inflict fear and persecution on innocent people, this entire span of
time went down in the

Hamlet Appearance Vs Reality Essay
While Hamlet believes that [to] be or not to be, (Shakespeare 3.1. 64), is the question, I would argue
that a larger question exists that remains unanswered: what is? How does one differentiate between
what is real, and what is an illusion created by the depths of the mind? In The Tragedy of Hamlet,
Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare, the characters are challenged to constantly distinguish
between what is and what seems the presence of reality or appearance. Reality, in a literal sense, is the
state of things as they actually exist, (Fowler); however, it s possible that existing or not existing is
subjective. Hamlet, the protagonist and tragic hero of the play, interprets a much different reality than
the surrounding characters and devises appearances that drive others away from understanding his
truth; in turn, he is made a pawn in the illusions of others, specifically Gertrude, Claudius, and

Analysis Of Studs Terkel s Working, By Harvey Pekar
American entrepreneur, Steve Jobs, once said: Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and
the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great
work is to love what you do. Some people may take a job out of necessity rather than being passionate
about their work. You have to love what you do as you spend more time working than being with
loved ones. In Studs Terkel s Working, adapted by Harvey Pekar, the reader is presented with visual
adaptations of the lives of ordinary Americans that show how they feel about what they do for a living
ranging from farmers, miners, barbers, box boys, and a hooker are some of the jobs mentioned in the
novels. The author gives the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She then goes further to show how she knows her work is worthy. She genuinely enjoys what she does

Dolores truly finds pleasure in serving people making them satisfied. From her extra work effort of
complimenting people, rearranging food a specific way for customers who are hypochondriacs, and
keeping the station clean. Dolores also shows how much she loves her work by stating. To be a
waitress, is an art (85). By characterizing her job as an art form, she reveals that she wants everything
to be perfect. She shows how she is oriental in the serving she wanted everything to look nice and she
even felt like a ballerina going between tables and chairs. Concisely, she states in the novel that the

Monuments And Masculinity In Roland Emmerich s...
Monuments and Masculinity
Roland Emmerich s Independence Day (1996) mirrors the ideology of a sci fi film outlined by Susan
Sontag in the Imagination of Disaster so closely that it borders on a lack of creativity. That is what
qualifies this film as a revival of the sci fi genre following revisionist works like Steven Spielberg s
E.T. the Extra Terrestrial (1982). This film, among other things, believes that femininity in leadership
will lead to disaster on the political stage and that personal relationships should mirror the ideals of
this government balance. This scene uses framing and set design re erect themes of the traditional sci
fi ideology such as the military embodiment of masculinity and the weak femininity of a scientist .
This scene also sets the stage for what Sontag calls the balance of a good war and the yearning for
peace which unfolds throughout the film. The ideology of Independence Day is despairingly
unoriginal, touching on almost all themes outlined by Sontag as what makes the science fiction genre.
Queuing up stage Sontag s third stage of the science fiction film, In the capital of the country,
conferences between scientists and the military take place... ; of course, the difference being these
shots are in Area 51. Intertitles clearly define for the viewer where the jet is heading, doing so it is
reinforcing the authority they have to travel there. This is an ironic move considering the random
assortment of civilians they have on board, and the lack of authority they had not even an hour prior.
The set design and misé en scene are so blatantly full of military machismo as the president is seen
peaking his character metamorphosis between an effeminate man and the strong leader. Slowly, a
beyond oversized commercial airliner prop pulls into the base s set absolutely truncating the figures in
every frame. The minimalist décor on the base exterior of the base contrasts with the extravagance of
the ridiculous jet. The implications of the size of the machine and the machismo of its passengers, or
the size of their genitals, is overbearing. It s one of the many phallic displays of power and
masculinity that can be seen throughout the film, but this one obviously aids as a visual

A Cultural Determination of Meaning Essay
HUM 101 010
Written Assignment 4
A Cultural Determination of Meaning Throughout historic culture, we can identify several changes in
philosophical thought. Through the emergence of romanticism, we see a realization that, through
passion, the paths of the hero and saint can be merged. In the agony and ecstasy of Michelangelo, it is
obvious how the paths of hero and saint can be merged in the form of art, to attempt to reconcile the
tension between them. In the enlightenment patterns of cultural mutation, we begin to realize that the
way we converge the two paths depends on the historical context in which we view them. And finally,
as a response to his cultural climate, Kierkegaard s portrayal of Abraham shows how the hero saint ...

This stems directly from the Greek ideal of the tragic hero and builds on romanticism, and
Michelangelo portrays this in his Roman Pieta. Through the idea of the parent s loss of the child, he is
able to display heroism in the mother, through the depiction of the biblical figures of Mary and Jesus.
Michelangelo is reacting to a certain cultural context by combining contemplation with faith the
Florentine Renaissance and the timeless dynamic of human existence that he observed while in Rome.
This leads us to the fact that these thought patterns are influenced by the culture in which they are
observed through the changes in philosophical thought in the enlightenment. During the enlightenment
patterns of cultural mutations, there is a growing emphasis on morality to determine one s faith.
Luther describes the individual as being responsible for his/her identity as a child of God. Science re
inserts the impersonal worldview of the hero into a Christian culture. The rise of capitalism brings the
idea that human identity is based on a cultural environment which is organized in economic terms
with an emphasis on competitive advantage. All of these mutations point to the fact that the tensions
between the two paths are unable to be merged into one path; they swing in one direction or the other,
based on the cultural climate. This brings us to a need to define one path

Reputation Of Pablo Picasso
Reputation is the belief or opinion that is held about someone or something generally about their
character, position, or status. Many famous people have reputations. For e.g. artists, people in power,

also struggled to establish their reputations. Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno

as Pablo Picasso was one of them. He was born on October 25, 1881, in Málaga, Spain. He was a

He painted in a style that was strongly influenced by the African sculptures. The huge achievement of
this period was Les Demoiselles d Avignon (1907). He abandoned the traditional art and used
distortions and geometric forms to create female figures which was challenging to the expectations of
others. Later, because of patriotic and political issues, he denied that African art never inspired him. In
the next period Cubism (1909 1914) Picasso worked with dimension and moved towards abstraction.
It was like different objects are broken apart and then reassembled in abstract forms. Cubism stunned
and fascinated the art world. Braque said It made me feel as if someone was drinking gasoline and
spitting fire (Biography.com, 2015) explaining his feelings when he first saw the paintings. Cubism
changed avant garde all over again. Cubism had two branches Analytic (1909 1912) and synthetic

and often monochromatic palette. E.g. Girl with a Mandolin (1910), Bread and Fruit Dish On a Table
(1909), Violin (1912), and etc. Synthetic cubism involved creating collages with tiny fragments e.g.
Card Player (1914), Clarinet and Violin (1913), and etc. World War I caused a great change in his art.
Mood and style became more somber and realistic. After cubism, he changed to the

Political Differences Between England And Russia
Previously, during the Early Middle Ages (500 1350), Western Europe went through a time of
Feudalism and Manorialism, and many political, economic, social, and several other, changes were
made. Then, during the Late Middle Ages (1300 1600), Western Europe was truly starting to form and
become its own territory. At the same time, Eastern European Russia was just beginning to form, and
it soon became one of the top civilizations. These two European territories were similar and different.
First, England and Russia had their similarities and differences politically. Next, the two parts of

In England, there were guilds and leagues, while on the contrary, Russia did not. A guild was a
medieval association of people of the same occupation that worked together to control wages and
prices. A league was a medieval group of people formed to promote and protect trade. Leagues also
made sure that people would buy products within the country. To do that, leagues would raise prices
on all imported goods, and they established a common measurement and weight system. Guilds and
leagues were used to help monitor the economy and keep everything inside England. Russia did not
have guilds nor leagues; their economy was based on estates. However, in the same fashion, both
Russian and English economies were agrarian. If something is agrarian, it means that it is
agriculturally based. The difference between the two economies, however, is that the West was
commercial, while the East was communal. Commercial is buying and selling, while communal is for
the community. Russia was based on the community, and was therefore self sufficient. With
commercial agriculture, England depended on others to buy their crops, and so they were not self
sufficient. The English use of guilds and leagues and being commercially based while Russia being
almost the complete opposite, made each of the economies distinct. The only true resemblance
between English and Russian economies was that they were both

Examples Of Ethics In Good Will Hunting
Abstract: The movie Good Will Hunting (1997) by Gus Van Sant depicted an intelligent man, Will
Hunting, with issues fitting in society and maintaining relationship connections and the therapists who
successfully changed Will s outlook at the world . However, it wasn t without certain technical flaws
and possible crossing of certain code of ethics. This paper raises the issue of the potential erroneous
counseling depiction in movies and certain ethical principles that may have been violated in such
depiction, discusses connection problems of the main character, Will Hunting, and possible reasons
why one particular therapist was able to assist him with his problems whereas other counselors have
failed, as well as a reflection based on the author s own opinion.
Cinematic movies featuring therapists are quite common and sometimes even popular. While
entertaining, often, the depictions of counseling in the movies do not always reflect reality. In the 1997

Ehlers Dalos Syndrome Case Study
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility Type) Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility Type) is a
genetic connective tissue disorder characterized by joint laxity, velvety skin, joint pain, and other
widespread complications of the body. It can be inherited from a parent with the same faulty gene, or
it can be a newly developed mutation. Connective tissue is infused with collagen protein that provides
strength and elasticity. It is spread abundantly throughout the human body in skin, muscles, tendons,
ligaments, blood vessels, and surrounding the internal organs. In the individual with EDS HT,
abnormal collagen formation in the connective tissue causes the tissue to stretch beyond what is
normal, resulting in damage and other multi systemic problems. Ehler Danlos Syndrome is named for
Edward Ehlers and Henri Alexandria Danlos, two physicians from the early 1900 s. Both published
case studies with patients suffering from common features of joint laxity and skin hyper extensibility
(Gazit et al 1 2). Considered a heritable connective tissue disorder, there is no known cause and
currently no genetic or biochemical testing available for EDS HT. Currently, diagnosis by the medical

Allyson Wells Social Media In the world today, the development of technology is constantly changing
and society is becoming more dependent on the Internet and social media. With a growing number of
people using the Internet and social media the advantages and disadvantages become more prevalent.
It is important for society to distinguish between the two in order to effectively and safely use the
Internet and social media.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of easily obtainable information? The Internet is full of
endless information that is easily available at our fingertips. There are advantages and disadvantages
to having access to such easily obtainable information. One advantage would be the ability to acquire
more knowledge by having access to information outside of a classroom or seminar. Gaining this
information can help with school or work projects if you are able to find helpful information. It is also
a quick and convenient method of gathering data. An example of how it might help an everyday
citizen would be if a person were thinking of moving to a new city or area, they could check the crime
rates and frequency and look to see if any sex offenders are in the area. This is a good way to keep
your family safe by using the easily obtainable information on the Internet. Some disadvantages of
easily obtainable information is it may not be credible. Just because information is on the Internet,

Figurative Language In Goblin Market
Goblin Market is a narrative unlike other poems. The two sisters, Laura and Lizzie, were narrating the
story to their children. And since this poem is a narrative, it is a very long poem; it contains twenty
eight stanzas and one hundred and thirty nine lines. But like most poems, Goblin Market has unique
structure, language, themes, symbols, and figurative language. The structure and style of this narrative
is extravagant. The rhyme is one factor that contributes to the uniqueness of the style of the poem.
Christina Rossetti provides very vivid details, from the smallest to largest things. She describes the
fruit and the goblins, from the color and shape of each fruit to the looks and personality of each of the

For example, it is used to describe Lizzie s positive actions to show the importance of them. Simile is
one of the most used types of figurative languages in this poem. Like a lily in a flood. (Rossetti, 409)
this quote is inferring that a beauty and innocence is being surrounded and devoured by an evil or
horror of the goblins. Like a beacon left alone in a hoary roaring sea. (Rossetti, 412 413) In these
lines, the setting of the passage was very dangerous like the waves in the ocean, but she was still left
unharmed despite the violence and danger. Like a rock of blue veined stone lashed by tides
obstreperously. (Rossetti, 410 411) The imagery in this poem gives true and detailed insight on the
character of Laura, and shows how important strength and innocence develops in the passage. Imagery
is used when goblins furiously attack Lizzie. Close beleaguered by a fleet mad to tug her standard

If both companies in the partnership feel it is a win win situation the chance for success is bigger, and
if they fail the cost will not be as devastating, the amount of risk is at a minimum compared to a WOS

easy, and it takes time and a lot of effort to build up a strong relationship between two companies.
There are many uncertainties around partnerships, the partner can have a hidden agenda and have an
opportunistic behavior (Aswathappa, 2010). The goal or objective for the partnership can be unclear
and makes it difficult to know when they have succeeded. If there is an unbalance in the level of
investment, effort or expertise the other partner can feel they are not getting what they expected. Many
get caught up in endless conflicts, and often these issues are based on cultural differences. Most of
these problems are management issues, but sometimes the company s management can agree on every
point but the employers do not get enough information (businesslink.gov.uk). Without thorough
research and effective communication the employers can start to working against the integration. 3.
Discussion Setting up a WOS or JV can be a difficult choice but by doing a solid market research and
an intern research of their own company the choice should be easier. If a company want to enter a

overcomes the problems stated above. The proposition is to develop a nonintrusive system that is able
to recognise electrical activities via electrical appliances by monitoring the signals from the main

Absurdism In Albert Camus s The Myth Of Sisyphus
In his novel, The Stranger, Albert Camus frames his philosophy of the absurd through the lens of a
character facing impending death. In Camus mind, the absurd is born of [the] confrontation between
the human need and the unreasonable silence of the world (The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus). Absurdism
asserts that the world is complex and chaotic and that searching for meaning of any kind is futile. This
suggests that life itself is meaningless given the indifference of the universe towards human existence.
To understand absurdism, one must, as Camus does, reject all notions of god and allow that the
significance of human life is only understood through acceptance of human mortality. This is reflected

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW BUSA 391 SUMMER 2010 Prepared For: Professor Leslie
Beck By: Gabriela Popescu ID: 260224311 June 17, 2010. Six months ago, Antiques R Us (a
Canadian corporation) entered into a contract with Yankee Antiques (an American company) to
purchase a desk used by George Washington himself after his retirement from the Presidency . The
sum of $500,000 was to be paid to Yankee Antiques after 30 days of ... Show more content on

For each separate scenario identified, a suitable course of action has been constructed that best
encompasses the strategy stated above. Preliminary Step The authenticity of the desk is the first issue
that needs to be resolved: the validity of the contract is contingent upon this sole factor and any
following measures to resell the desk cannot be made without proof of authenticity. However, before
any tests can be conducted, Antiques R Us must, in good faith, fully disclose the situation and their
thoughts on the matter to Yankee Antiques. In trying to maintain good relations with the valued
supplier, a letter should be made in writing to Yankee Antiques outlining the doubts and concerns
raised by the third party and ask them to provide proof of authenticity. This crucial preliminary step is
justified by the following reasons: 1. Full disclosure acts as a letter of intent in this situation; it
explains that Antiques R Us still has faith in Yankee Antiques, but that pursuant to the terms of our
contract and the request of our client, we have no choice but to require proof of authenticity. In
attempting to honour the contract, any delay in performing our obligations will not be made in bad
faith. 2. If the situation is brought to court, Antiques R Us has proof that an attempt was made to
inform Yankee Antiques about the authenticity issue. 3. If

Theme Of Materialistic Love In My Last Duchess
Unlike the sensual approach which Keats took on for his poems, La Belle Dame sans Merci and The
day is gone, and all its sweets are gone ; My Last Duchess presents love in a negative light through the
description of the Duke s materialistic and misogynistic nature. This is evident when the narrative
persona describes the painting of the Duchess as, The depth and passion of its earnest glance .
Browning uses the abstract nouns depth and passion to portray the materialistic nature of the Duke.
Instead of cherishing the Duchess when she was alive, he is seen to be treasuring the painting of her
due to its value. This is reinforced with the impersonal pronoun, its as it signifies that the Duke has
objectified the Duchess, thus treating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the narrative persona in My Last Duchess demands his wife to devote her love to him, the
protagonist of La Belle Dame sans Merci devotes himself to the woman he loves even though the love
is unrequited. This is evident through the repetition of the line On the cold hill side. throughout the
poem. The noun phrase cold hill suggests that the knight is lonely and depressed when he waits for the
woman solely, however unlike the narrative persona of My Last Duchess , he would not demand the
woman to love him instead he would wait patiently until the day his affection towards her is accepted.
Subsequently, through the knight s patience in waiting for the woman he favours, Keats highlights the
strong affection he has for the

next morning, De Spain orders Abner to clean the rug and return it to him. But they make matters
worse, and De Spain asks Abner to pay him twenty bushels of corn, instead of one hundred dollars,

just having regions and not states. There were eight geographical regions, before there were states.

The skill which I am going to discuss about is impulse...
The skill which I am going to discuss about is impulse control. It means regardless of what is asked or
done, one is unable to control the need to act upon something. In other words, impulse can be
described as an immediate action or reaction that is particularly evident in emotions. This is an
important skill in today s environment which can indicate the adaptability of an individual in an
external environment and potentially determine future success. For instance, if one is unable to control
his/her impulse and bursts out of anger at every occasion; that person may not be emotionally fit to be
successful because of the lack of self control on their impulses. In the EQ report, the result indicates
that I am rarely impatient and only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SELF REGARD: It helps to assess both external capabilities and internal strength. It is an individual s
ability to maintain a positive self view in terms of personality, self esteem, and individual regard to
other people, but maintain respect and decency in society with morals and virtues. In the EQ report,
the result indicates that I am self assured in my abilities to perform responsibilities in various settings.
Of course, it is a correct evaluation because I usually think of the consequences of my actions upon
others. I agree to anything with a full satisfactory level by seeing the positive side alone. In my point
of view, positive thought beats negativity. Rather than dwelling on frustrations or things that cannot
change, I will devise a plan of action and ask others for assistance and advise to resolve the problems.
For example, I asked my brother s suggestion before selecting my course. He advised me to take an
accounting course since it has lots of job vacancies in Canada and it gives me a different experience in
this field. Even though it is totally different from my education background, I decided to do this
course with full satisfaction by seeing the positive side. I am sure it gives me the prospect of a very
good career. FLEXIBILITY: It is the ability to adapt to different people in different environments and
the ability to handle an unfamiliar, unpredictable or unforeseen circumstance with grace. Also it

Born in Caracas, Nueva Granada, in July 24, 1783, Don Simón José Antonio De La Santísima
Trinidad Bolívar was born to his mother María de La Concepción Palacios y Blanco and his father
Juan Vicente Bolívar y Ponte. At the time, their family was of the wealthiest in the area, owning a
majority of Venezuelan land. Don Simon Bolivar was one of 4 in which he had two older sisters,
Maria Antonia, Juana and his brother, Juan Vicente. Bolivar s father had passed by the age of two, in
which he played a minimal role in the life of young Don Simon Bolivar. By the age of nine, his
mother had passed. During an early age of his child hood, Don Simon Bolivar was placed under the

The period between 1813 and July of 1814, known as the Second Republic, is in reality the Terrible
Year of Venezuelan History. The War to Death decree creates a furor, and the combats and indecisive
battles, won or lost, follow one upon the other with increasing rapidity. Despite important victories,
Bolívar as well as General Santiago Mariño (who had previously liberated the eastern areas of the
nation) find themselves obliged to give way in the face of a more numerous adversary led by the
royalist José Tomás Boves.
Boves emerges victorious from the La Puerta battle (June of 1814), and the patriots are forced to
evacuate Caracas. A massive emigration towards the east takes place. There, Bolívar and Mariño see
their authority challenged by their own companions at arms. The Liberator finds again fraternal
asylum in Nueva Granada, where he intervenes with some measures of success in internal political
struggles which enable the city of Bogotá to find a place in the newly established United Provinces. In
May of 1815, in Cartagena, Bolívar resigns his command to avoid the outbreak of civil war. In 1816,
with Alexandre s help, he returned to Venezuela and their forces seized Angostura after beating the
counter attack

The Threat Of The Atomic Bomb
Very few events in human history will be remembered forever. Everyday things such as driving to
work or spending time with a loved one, will all soon be part of the past. Even seemingly horrifying
events that in the present seem to cause chaos, such as a wildfire that destroys thousands of homes, or
a plane crash that tears apart many families will be forgotten by humanity in a comparably short
amount of time. The atomic bomb is one of the few events that will forever be remembered by people
all over the world for the remainder of human history. Robert Oppenheimer, the main scientist in
building the bomb, will be remembered as the person who created the most devastating weapon ever
used in combat. The destruction that was caused by the bomb was mainly felt in the country of Japan,
but its impact spread throughout the world. Ending World War II was made possible by the U.S.
government, and their crucial decision to drop Oppenheimer s atomic device onto the cities of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Soon after, the once destructive device was forbidden to be used for any
reason and nuclear power plants were developed to make use of the unique power. The dropping of the
atomic bomb had a much greater impact on the world than just its immediate destruction. Robert
Oppenheimer, the man behind the atomic bomb, grew up in the early 1900s in New York City
(Rummel 13). Oppenheimer s American journey started long before he was born. His father, Julius,
immigrated in 1888 from

Workplace Harassment In The Workplace
The workplace has an environment where people having different communication styles, personalities
and views come to interact. These differences play a significant role in sourcing these workplace
issues. These factors can ultimately lead to tension and stress at workplace for people who are
involved. Even though, all colleagues have all the rights for fair treatment and they should feel safe in
their workplace, some employees are bullied harassed or discriminated. Specifically, people, who
belong to LGBT community, are unsafe in their workplaces by non discriminatory policies. Moreover,
few of the employees might feel dissatisfied with their performance and these people have to struggle
in order to perform at their workplace. These people also face the difficulty in finding a suitable job
that matches their abilities and interests (Hershcovis 499 519) Employee mistreatment problem can
result in low job performance, less productivity, termination of work, increased dissatisfaction,
anxiety, stress and other mental problems. Workplace harassment can also result on other legal
problems. APA notes that insecurity in job and lack of moral support at workplace may lead to
exacerbated workplace problems. We will discuss some of the major problems that are faced by
victims of maltreatment at workplace (Maqsood, Finegan, Walker 295 301) Some of the jobs involve
higher degree of work stress. According to the theory of job demand control model, higher degree of
work stress is common

There are many different ways to catch and pull in the clientele that a company is searching for, but before choosing what type of internet marketing approach is best for the company s money, the marketing team must know some basic steps. They should start off by finding a target market and look into regional ad buys, also they ought to research discounts that internet sources are offering ( Advertising isn t cheap, n.d., para.1 4). One good way to start is by advertising on large search engines such as Yahoo, Google, and Web Crawler. This is called paid keyword search and contextual adverting, but much larger known as SEM which is the abbreviation for Search Engine Marketing. This is an ideal way for the small businessman or business owner to get the most bang out of his or hers buck. A business owner can buy little ads that come up when one searches a related topic to their product. For instance, a company is specializing in manufacturing windows and siding. If a person is looking to replace their windows or siding and is searching a search engine to figure out how to go about doing it, when that person enters the keyword siding a little ad for that company specializing in that product or service is going to come up. • 5. The Aztec Culture of Sacrifice Introduction The concept of sacrifice is a fundamental basis of almost every religion. However, its manifestation in the form of human sacrifice is both more controversial and, as a result, rarely studied by anthropologists today. As one scholar observes: The modern social anthropologist does not best endear himself to the elite of the Third World by an obsessive interest in how great grandfather shrunk the heads he hunted or in the quality of the wood needed to burn great grandmother alive (Davies, 1981, p.13). While one may question the sense of humour evident here and even its implication of a racist subtext it must be acknowledged that the role of human sacrifice in the history of religious practices is seldom addressed. ... In order to interrogate these two theories of ritual sacrifice, the practice of human sacrifice must be examined in a situation and on a scale where there can be no doubt of its significance within a culture. In this regard, no better example of human sacrifice as a culture wide religious practice may be found than the case of the Aztec civilization. Human Sacrifice (b) Practice The Aztecs, it is believed, originated as a poor nomadic tribe from a place in western Mexico they called Aztlan sometime in the 1300s. They probably never used the term Aztec in reference to themselves, and were commonly known as Mexica . They moved into the Valley of Mexico as squatters, and began making enemies of the more civilized peoples already living there as a result of the Aztec taste for violence and human sacrifice (Coe, 1984, p.145 6). The Aztecs were, in the words of one historian, despised by all (Weaver, 1972, p.239) neighbouring peoples for their placing physical violence and bloodlust at the centre of their culture. For example, while their skill in fighting led to their being employed as mercenaries, on one infamous occasion their chief was offered the daughter of the King who currently employed the tribe. When the King arrived for the marriage ceremony, he was confronted instead by a priest dancing about in his daughter s skin (Weaver, 1972, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The drought s primary characteristics of damage are regarded as agricultural for the most part. In addition to the Great Depression s bank closures, various economic damages, increased unemployment, and other hardships, the agricultural depression just worsened the situation in America. McCarthy, was originally a quiet senator who was fairly unknown and had done nothing extraordinary previous to 1950. The senator changed all that when he delivered a speech in February 1950, in which he leveled allegations that the State Department employed numerous Communists. That is what qualifies this film as a revival of the sci fi genre following revisionist works like Steven Spielberg s E.T. the Extra Terrestrial (1982). This film, among other things, believes that femininity in leadership will lead to disaster on the political stage and that personal relationships should mirror the ideals of this government balance. This scene uses framing and set design re erect themes of the traditional sci fi ideology such as the military embodiment of masculinity and the weak femininity of a scientist . This scene also sets the stage for what Sontag calls the balance of a good war and the yearning for peace which unfolds throughout the film. The ideology of Independence Day is despairingly unoriginal, touching on almost all themes outlined by Sontag as what makes the science fiction genre. Intertitles clearly define for the viewer where the jet is heading, doing so it is reinforcing the authority they have to travel there. This is an ironic move considering the random assortment of civilians they have on board, and the lack of authority they had not even an hour prior. The set design and misé en scene are so blatantly full of military machismo as the president is seen peaking his character metamorphosis between an effeminate man and the strong leader. Slowly, a beyond oversized commercial airliner prop pulls into the base s set absolutely truncating the figures in every frame. The minimalist décor on the base exterior of the base contrasts with the extravagance of the ridiculous jet. • 23. A Cultural Determination of Meaning Essay HUM 101 010 Written Assignment 4 A Cultural Determination of Meaning Throughout historic culture, we can identify several changes in philosophical thought. Through the emergence of romanticism, we see a realization that, through passion, the paths of the hero and saint can be merged. In the agony and ecstasy of Michelangelo, it is obvious how the paths of hero and saint can be merged in the form of art, to attempt to reconcile the tension between them. In the enlightenment patterns of cultural mutation, we begin to realize that the way we converge the two paths depends on the historical context in which we view them. And finally, as a response to his cultural climate, Kierkegaard s portrayal of Abraham shows how the hero saint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This stems directly from the Greek ideal of the tragic hero and builds on romanticism, and Michelangelo portrays this in his Roman Pieta. Through the idea of the parent s loss of the child, he is able to display heroism in the mother, through the depiction of the biblical figures of Mary and Jesus. Michelangelo is reacting to a certain cultural context by combining contemplation with faith the Florentine Renaissance and the timeless dynamic of human existence that he observed while in Rome. This leads us to the fact that these thought patterns are influenced by the culture in which they are observed through the changes in philosophical thought in the enlightenment. During the enlightenment patterns of cultural mutations, there is a growing emphasis on morality to determine one s faith. Luther describes the individual as being responsible for his/her identity as a child of God. Science re inserts the impersonal worldview of the hero into a Christian culture. The rise of capitalism brings the idea that human identity is based on a cultural environment which is organized in economic terms with an emphasis on competitive advantage. All of these mutations point to the fact that the tensions between the two paths are unable to be merged into one path; they swing in one direction or the other, based on the cultural climate. This brings us to a need to define one path ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Leagues also made sure that people would buy products within the country. To do that, leagues would raise prices on all imported goods, and they established a common measurement and weight system. Guilds and leagues were used to help monitor the economy and keep everything inside England. Russia did not have guilds nor leagues; their economy was based on estates. The difference between the two economies, however, is that the West was commercial, while the East was communal. Commercial is buying and selling, while communal is for the community. It can be inherited from a parent with the same faulty gene, or it can be a newly developed mutation. Connective tissue is infused with collagen protein that provides strength and elasticity. It is spread abundantly throughout the human body in skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, and surrounding the internal organs. In the individual with EDS HT, abnormal collagen formation in the connective tissue causes the tissue to stretch beyond what is normal, resulting in damage and other multi systemic problems.
