1. Buy Online Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Buy Online Essay" can be both a challenging and intriguing
endeavor. On one hand, delving into the complexities of online essay purchasing involves
addressing ethical concerns, exploring the reliability of various platforms, and evaluating the
impact of such practices on academic integrity. On the other hand, it requires an examination of
the reasons individuals resort to buying essays online, whether due to time constraints, lack of
proficiency in a particular subject, or other personal challenges.
One of the challenges in approaching this topic is navigating the fine line between understanding
the pressures students face and maintaining a stance against academic dishonesty. It requires a
delicate balance to critically analyze the motivations behind purchasing essays online without
appearing judgmental. Furthermore, exploring the reliability of online essay services involves
extensive research into the credibility of different platforms, customer reviews, and the potential
consequences of using such services.
Addressing the topic also necessitates a discussion on the potential consequences of submitting
purchased essays, both academically and ethically. Examining the broader implications of this
practice on the education system and the long-term impact on students' learning and critical
thinking skills adds an additional layer of complexity.
While the subject matter is challenging, it presents an opportunity to delve into the broader
issues surrounding education, ethics, and the evolving landscape of academic assistance.

2. Demonstrations of the Power of Dictators in Anthem by
Ayn...
Anthem Essay Hitler once stated He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.
This means that whoever is in control of the youth will control what is going to
happen, because the youth are the future. Anthem by Ayn Rand demonstrates that
Dictators are all powerful and will do anything to keep that power.
Dictatorial leaders have multiple reasons for separating children from their parents
and family. Some reasons may include if they are taken from their families young
they won t remember their life with their families and won t try and break the rules to
find them. Another reason children may be taken from their families is to make sure
that the parents and relatives do not tell them things that the leader does not want
them to believe. A final reason that the dictatorwould take a child from their family
is to keep them from becoming more advanced than they want them to. There are
many other reasons why dictators may do this which will be explained. Children
taken from their parents at young ages do not remember who their parents are or
what they looked. Dictators take the children at that age for the very reason that the
kids will not want to look for their parents because the child does not know what his
or her parents look like. An event similar to that happened in Anthem whenever the
kids would be taken from the mother after they were born and were sent to his or her
first home until they would be old enough to start school. Making the kids constantly
change homes
3. The Restoration Of Glacial Park
When we arrived at Glacial Park, it was oppressively hot, and it stayed so
throughout the day. We were ushered into the visitor center where we met Dr. Tom
Simpson, the research field station ecologist. He gave an introductory lecture on
restoration ecology in general, alluding to the foundational UW Madison Arboretum
Project, and laying out challenges within the field. He specifically pointed to how
restoration projects can never be truly finished and how projects often work to
restore historical landscapes that are long gone. Then, he asked us to consider, in the
face of these challenges, whether ecological restoration is even worth the effort. With
that question hanging over our heads, we went into the field. Our task was two fold;
we... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our next activity, following lunch, was a nature walk through the park. Although the
sun beat down with a vengeance, we braved the heat in the name of knowledge. Dr.
Simpson led us to a beautifully restored oak savanna. After farmers had cleared the
landscape for agriculture, MCCD has worked to restore the area to an oak savanna,
the historic ecosystem. Dr. Simpson said that there were more oaks in the restored
area than the reference ecosystem probably had. I was very impressed by the
project as there were massive oaks and a relatively good diversity of prairie grasses
and shrubs beneath them. However, Dr. Simpson asked us what was wrong with
the restored system. Bewildered, the group was unable to answer him. He revealed
that there was a lack of small oaks. Although there were plenty of established trees,
the landscape was missing saplings, which is problematic for the future of this
ecosystem. Dr. Simpson said he would tell us later why he thought this was so, but,
as we ran out of time, Dr. Ohsowski eventually informed us that rodents were
preventing oak saplings from growing. Our walk continued through the park. We
stopped and examined different exotic invasive species, like multiflora rose and
European buckthorn. Dr. Simpson explained how multiflora rose was brought to the
United States to be used as erosion control. This harkened back to the original
dilemma he posed. If
4. The Zinc Of Cobalt 60
COBALT 60
INTRO
Cobalt 60 or also known as co 60 is one of the many isotopes of the element, Cobalt.
Cobalt has 28 isotopes other than Cobalt 60, these include: Cobalt 47, Cobalt 48,
Cobalt 49, Cobalt 50, Cobalt 51, Cobalt 52, Cobalt 53, Cobalt 54, Cobalt 55, Cobalt
56, Cobalt 58, Cobalt 59, Cobalt 60, Cobalt 61, Cobalt 62, Cobalt 63, Cobalt 64,
Cobalt 65, Cobalt 66, Cobalt 67, Cobalt 68, Cobalt 69, Cobalt 70, Cobalt 71,
Cobalt 72, Cobalt 73, Cobalt 74, Cobalt 75 and Cobalt 76 (Jefferson Lab, n.d.). Co
60 is a synthetically produced radioisotope with a half life of 5.27 years (Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2014). It decays through beta particles and
gamma radiation (CDC, 2005). Cobalt 60 decays into stable isotope, Nickel 60
through beta minus decay (radioactivity.eu.com, n.d.).
SAFETY ISSUES
Cobalt 60 can be very dangerous to human health. If ingested or inhaled, the
majority of co 60 is excreted in the feces and the rest is absorbed into the blood and
tissues, mainly the liver, kidneys and bones (CDC, 2014; United States
Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2015). As co 60 is involved in ionising
radiation, all co 60 that is absorbed by liver, kidneys or bone tissue can cause
cancer and because it decays by gamma radiation, this results in an increased risk of
cancer in comparison to other radioisotopes along with skin burns, acute radiation
sickness, or death. In occasional circumstances, medical or industrial radiation
sources are lost or stolen

Imagine being at the top of the world, on a bitter cold mountain, over top of an
enormous crowd. The lustrous lights are shining below on the massive jump created
for the professional snowboard competition that will decide whether you win or lose
the competition. I have dreamed of being a professional snowboarder as my dream
job ever since I have been introduced into the sport of snowboarding. Being on top of
the enormous slope and strapping into my bindings instantly makes me feel
relaxed and puts a grin on my face. While gliding down the mountain I become
focused and dialed in on my riding. Being a professional snowboarder as an
occupation, I would compete in large competitions such as the X Games or the
Olympics to win prizes and gain popularity. The excitement from the crowd and
the view from the course would give me goosebumps as I race to the finish. This
would give me the rush of happiness and excitement every time I strap into my
bindings to compete and make it seem like I would never work a day in my life.
Competing in snowboardcompetitions as a professional snowboarder would be my
passion and dream job in life all while traveling and being with friends.
I am now a professional snowboarder that is with my friends at Mammoth
Mountain, the local resort, preparing for the X Games slopestyle competition that is
a few days away. The slopestyle competition is a snowboarding course that consists of
rails and jumps. To score a run in a slopestyle course each rail or jump
6. The Hydrates Forming Reaction
The sharp drop in the pressure and temperature and their direct signs designate the
beginning of the hydrates forming reaction . It was apparently shown from the
pressure and temperature variation curves, i. e., this phenomenon can be used to
verify the starts of the hydrates forming reaction. (Kumar, 2013; Su, 2010) The
pressuredifference between the time points was used to calculate the volume of CO2
gasconsumed during different time zones and was found to obey the modified gas
law represented by Eq. 1. (Perry, 1984; Smith, 2001) (1) where n is the moles of
gas consumed, P is the pressure, T is the temperature, R is the universal gas constant,
V is the volume of CO2 gas in the vessel, and z is the compressibility factor.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Successful CO2 hydrates formation in both coal samples by hydratesforming reactions
The variation in the pressure and temperature during the hydrates forming reaction
were plotted, as shown in Figure 4. The results indicate that CO2 hydrates were
formed in both coal samples under different pressures conditions (2.3 and 3 MPa).
The specific testing data are listed in Table 3. Figures 4 and 5 show the pressure and
temperature variation curves with reaction time under different pressures (left 3MPa;
right 2.3MPa), respectively.

The expectations of society: having a secondary education, getting a good job, and
family are not for everyone, but it seems that society doesn t discern that not
everyone takes that path. In Into the Wild, Chris believes that if one is not happy with
these societal pressures, then they should do something to changeand challenge
themselves. Chris claims, So many people live within unhappy circumstances and
yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned
to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give
one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit
within a man than a secure future (Krakuer, 57). These expectations are not for
everyone, and in Chris s case it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Henry David Thoreau wanted to get most of out of life and did so in the woods.
He built a cabin in the woods and a lived a simplistic life. In Where I Lived, and
What I Lived For, Thoreau asserts that I went into the woods because I wanted to
live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life... to put
to rout all that was not life: and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not
lived (Thoreau, 8). Conformity creates an uninspiring life full of thoughts of the
mass. Thoreau needed to be able to life a live where he choose his ideas and he
wanted to live. Thoreau continues to claim, Why should we live with such hurry
and waste of life...When we are unhurried and wise, we perceive that only great and
worthy things have any permanent and absolute existence... (Thoreau, 10). Society
consist of never slowing down, there is always something more to do. When you
have a chance to slow down, you realize their is more to your life and existence.
This is what provoked Thoreau to leave society and go into the
8. Encrypting Machines During World War Two
During World War 2 was a time of devastation. It was also a great time of innovation.
One of the greatest innovations was the beginning of modern computing. During
World War 2 encryption was each army s main way of keeping war plans secure. One
of the most famous encrypting machines was named the Enigma. The Enigma was a
machine that took input from one side; encrypts it and sends the message to another
operator who then translates it using a code book (Gladwin). Using this machine, the
German s kept nearly all the information secure from other countries. To break these
encryptions, the British secret service along with many other countries started to
build machines that could defeat the Enigmas encryption (Gladwin). Soon after the

While bloody fights were taken place, the communication war raged on in secrecy.
Bletchley Park is where the fight mostly took place. In the late 1930 s in a remote
area outside London, lived a mansion (Gladwin). This mansion was soon to be
converted into a super secret compound called Bletchley Park. The park was
surrounded by small cottages in which students from the local colleges were
recruited from to live there (Gladwin). Their task was to decipher all types of
encoded messages in secrecy away from the public eye. Soon to be there was the
infamous Alan Turing. Although it was mainly a code breaking facility, there was
not a more daunting task to decode messages coming from the infamous German
machine Enigma. Enigma was an encrypting type righter which used rotors which
created nearly impossible trillion different results each time it sent out a message
(Gladwin). It was nearly impossible to decipher by just using paper. Turing had an
idea of creating a large machine in which could emulate nearly thirty six Enigmas
at any time while running (Gladwin). The machine Turing had created was known
as a bombe. Soon after they would use these bombes to crack the Enigma codes
being sent from the Germans (Gladwin). Although Bletchley Park was one of the
main places, in an interview with Jean Valentine, it was found that by the end of
the war there was at least five other places where bombes were stationed at (Lewis).
This machine was one of the first successful models of its kind. Also in the
interview Jean states that, These machines did the equivalent work of 36 Enigmas
and 200 of them were working 24 hours a day... (Lewis). Bombes were one of the
most successful machines of its time for breaking the Enigma. Secrecy was also a
key component in Bletchley Park. In the interview with Jean Valentine, it was found
that if anyone asked them about what they were doing they were to tell others that

10. What Is Metaphors Used In The Gothic Novel
These dark overtones and internal tensions laid the foundation perfectly for the
development of the gothic novel. The fear of the unknown are represented in
Radcliffe s gothic novel as the mystery surrounding the fates of other women. Once
Emily has found out the truth about the other women, then she is freed of her fears
and is able to cope with them. In a very real way she has made the transition to
confidence in herself and her own future. This particular brand of gothic novel seems
to be an encouragement to women and reassures them. Metaphors and Simile have
been a part of the human experience since man began comparing and contrasting
things to one another. Used by poets and novelists alike to express comparisons, these
elements are extremely useful to the writer. Radcliffe manages to use metaphors to
continue and round out the overall tone of the novel. This, too, is evident in the Vol.
2, ch. 5 example. As the landscape changes, she is evoking an implied metaphor
stating that experience is constantly changing and that sometimes, if one is lucky, one
will suddenly hit upon an inner truthor two, which comes as a result of the constant
changing. Interestingly enough, Radcliffe also employs very Romantic Era
techniques of utilizing nature to illustrate some of these truths, both inner and outer.
In the Vol. 2, ch. 5 piece, the landscape is described in detail. If Classical styles were
seen as being typically calm, harmonious, balanced, structured, and rational, then
11. Atmospheric Pollution During The 20th Century
From young to old, rich to poor, male to female, air is the most fundamental part of
human existence. One can survive days without food and water, but one cannot
typically survive more than a mere minute without air. A writer at The Times in 1881
poignantly said, the air we receive at our birth and resign only when we die is the
first necessity of our existence (Harrop, 2002, p.1). In the following, I will discuss the
responses to atmospheric pollution in Britain during the 20th century and how those
responses formed the basis for government intervention and legislation in the
regulation and prevention of future pollution catastrophes. Air pollutionis not a

While this was the start of a long, hard fight to improve the quality of air and
subsequent health, productivity, and prosperity of Britain, the bill was only met
with moderate success (Scarrow, 1972, p.268). Fog was simply viewed as the
byproduct of industrialization, forward progress, and wealth and therefore for the
next 100 plus years, and between two world wars, there was relatively limited and
predominantly ineffective public action.
No greater was there a year for the environmental movement than in 1952. It was
this week in the middle of December that changed the course of British history. On
Friday night an unusually nasty fog descended on the city. On Monday the fog
was as thick as ever... At Sadlers Wells theater the opera La Traviata had to be
abandoned after the first act because the audience could not see the stage (Ashby
and Anderson, 1981, p.104). While Londoners had been accustomed to extreme fog
descending on their city, this was just the beginning of a crisis like no other. During
that week, more than 4,000 people died: mothers lost daughters, sons lost fathers,
and families lost loved ones. Not only was there a 60% increase in deaths than that
same week of the previous year, but livestock perished, people

II MDCT angiography of the thoracic aorta:
At the point when an acute aortic syndrome (AAS) is suspected (owing either to
clinical manifestations or to chest radiographic findings), non enhanced CT is usually
done first to search a high attenuation acute intramural hematoma (IMH). The contrast
enhanced scanning, which take after is the key part of the CT examination. The right
timing of the entry of contrast material in the aorta is basic to picture quality.
Approaches to accomplishing this incorporate a timing bolus or a bolus tracking
technique (Kazerooni et al, 2009).
Technical procedures: Previously, ECG gating has fundamentally been retrospective
gating with which information are gathered over the whole cardiac cycle. This
allows review of aortic valve morphologic features on static images at end systole
and end diastole, measurement of aortic valve surface area and the review of valve
leaflet motion in cine mode. Inadequate coaptation of the valve leaflets relates to
regurgitation, and a confined opening relates to stenosis (Gilkeson et al., 2006).
Additionally, the more up to date prospective triggering technique gathers CT
information just at a specified point or cluster of points in the heart cycle, decreasing
the time the CT beam is on to a fraction of what it was with retrospective gating, thus
considerably decreasing the radiation dose (Shuman et al., 2008).
The development of MSCT with more than 16 detector rows has enabled

The second line brings in the aural aspects of suffering by using words like
coughing and cursed . We cursed through sludge shows the intense deepness of the
mud, which weakens the men and causes them to swear. Owen tries to make the
readers feel pity for the men and does this extremely well by saying All went lame,
all blind . This gives us the image that men couldn t see or hear correctly. He uses
the metaphor Drunk with fatigue to illustrate the tiredness of the men. Stanza one
ends on a note of warning; the danger of which the soldiers are unaware, as they
can t hear properly. The first and second verses are all to do with the visual and
oral images of the soldiers and the ironic sense that the men are on their way back
from the front line so they should be in less threat, yet this is where one man is
killed. The next verse begins with a shout of danger: Gas! Gas! Quick boys.
Ecstasy is used paradoxically; it shows the speed and panic of the men as they
know how important it is to get their helmets on and yet their fingers fail them. The
poet tricks the reader by saying Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time which gives
us the feeling that everyone has got their helmets on; this isn t true. The next few
lines talk about the terror and pain the man goes through as the gas enters his body.
The simile floundering like a man in fire was used to demonstrate the panic created

RESERVOIRS:
(A Review)
Author: Benard Okuidegbe (UCID: 10142489)
ABSTRACT
Abundant amounts of resources are left to be untapped from unconventional
reservoirs. (Arthur 2008) observes that about 500TCF of natural gas are contained in
unconventional reservoirs. Unconventional gas reservoirs account for approximately
one third of the US natural gas production (Rafiqul, 2014). Over the years, reservoir
engineers have relied on numerical simulators as a tool for modeling and predicting
hydrocarbon recoveries (recovery factor) from reservoirs, which translates into the
economic viablility (or not) of a petroleum asset. The accurate modeling of reservoir
fluid flow using simulators depend largely on the description of actual rock/fluid
interactions that occur within the reservoir. Unlike for the case of conventional
reservoir systems, the flow physics for unconventional reservoirs (Tight gas, Coal bed
methane, Shale reservoirs) are complicated by their unique features which include:
extremely low permeability, complex fracture networks, non darcy flow, Klinkenberg
effects, adsorption/desorption effects and rock deformation due to variations in
effective stress in the reservoirs. Accouting for all of these features into numerical

18. The Theory Of The Expectancy Violation Theory
Introduction
Expectations do not always align with the reality of a situation. Attempting to predict
an individual s response or reaction can be difficult due to the fact that a reaction
takes into account pre existing and external factors. Burgoon s Expectancy Violations
Theory analyses people s reactions to unanticipated violations of social norms or
expectations. This theory discusses many of the different factors that play a role
when individuals form their expectancies such as context, relationship, communicator
characteristics, and nonverbal communication.
This paper analyses the pros and cons of the Expectancy Violation Theory. It argues
why this theory satisfies enough of Griffin s six standards to classify it as a good

Expectancy Violation Theory tries to incorporate all the elements that would
determine a response.
The next large concept of Expectancy Violation Theory is violation valence.
Violation valence is similar to the idea of a scale which determines how greatly the
violation affects you. Weather or not an individual s reaction is positive or negative
is simple part, but putting a value on how positive or how negative is what will
determine the magnitude of the response.
Communicator reward valence is the last main concept of Expectancy Violations
Theory. The idea of a reward valence has to do with sizing another individual up in
terms of what they have to offer you. Determining if the positives outweigh the
negatives in a relationship is an important factor when it comes calculating responses,
especially for unexpected behaviors.
Expectancy Violation Theory also includes behavioral adjustments and adaptation.
Burgoon states that human beings are predisposed to adapt to each other (p.90). As
relationship grow expectancies and reaction change because people learn to adapt.
Theory Worldview
Expectancy Violation Theory is an objective theory that is classified as a socio
psychological tradition on Griffin s map of theory tradition. Socio psychological
tradition emphasizes the scientific perspective looking for cause and effect
relationships that can predict trends and results. This theory

named Phil who relives the same day, 2 March, over and over again. A P is a short
story by John Updike in which a cashier, Sammy, has his routine day disrupted when
three girls wearing swimming suits stroll into the grocery store where he works and
are confronted by the manager. Though their storylines vary greatly, in both works
the main character in each is a self centered, condescending male who eventually
realises the flaws in his character. This realisation is, in part, brought out by
supernatural forces in Groundhog Day and by a manager s harsh words in A P.
However, in each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike Phil, she never tells a lie or says a harsh word about anyone. The character of
Queenie is less developed she is only shown though the narrator s eyes as she walks
through the supermarket with her two friends. However, she still represents
something that Sammy is not: she is a leader and she is blithely unconventional; she
is a challenge to the status quo. When Sammy sees the girls he comments
You know it s one thing to have a girl in a bathing suit down on the beach. Where . .
. nobody can look at each other much anyway, and another thing in the cool of the A
P under the fluorescent lights . . .
Sammy says nothing to indicate that he disagrees with the social norm. Queenie,
however, sees no reason to adhere to such conventions. When scolded by the
manager, she replies by saying, We are decent . It never occurs to her that what she
has been doing might not be acceptable. Thus, Rita, the sensitive, caring person, and
Queenie, the non conformist, act as possible role models for the male protagonists to
aspire to:
The attraction Phil feels toward Rita and Sammy feels toward Queenie is the
motivating force that compels the men to change. Phil s attraction to

21. The Pit And The Pendulum Symbolism
Terror is something that most living things have experienced in their lives, from
people to animals. It manifests itself as the emotion of fear in the minds of those
who experience it. Edgar Allan Poe creates a sense of terror in The Pit and the
Pendulum by expressing symbolism; he uses the candles, the pendulum, and
General Lasalle arriving. By doing this Poe creates a sense of fear in the minds of
his readers and intrigues them. Poe uses the candles to, at first, symbolize hope and
charity, then, to represent evil and meaningless spectres. At first they wore the aspect
of charity (Poe 856) to the unnamed narrator; it showed that he still had hope even
though he was locked in a cold and dark dungeon. He thought when he... Show more

Poe also uses the symbol of General Lasalle to represent a savior such as God. The
walls had ...shifted its form into that of a lozenge (873) and were slowly closing in
and pushing the narrator toward the pit in the cell. The walls closing in represent a
person coming closer to death and slowly dying; as he got closer to the pit he was
inching closer to death. This all came after the narrator thought that he was free
after he had freed himself from the pendulum. But just as the narrator was seconds
away from falling into the pit, an outstretched arm caught my own as I fell, (873)
and saved him seconds before he fell into the pit. This could be seen as a direct
reference to the Bible, where God saves a soul before they fall into hell, which is
represented by the pit. The narrator also hears trumpets as he is about to fall into the
pit, representing him about to die; many paintings the afterlife are shown with angels
playing trumpets further showing that Lasalle is meant to represent God and finally
ends the terror that the narrator was faced with. In conclusion, Poe uses symbolism to
strengthen the theme of terror in The Pit and
22. Self, Culture and Society
In this paper an excerpt titled Theoretical from Engels Anti DhГјring will be
examined in reference to Engels ideologies regarding materialism, the social work
order, and the fundamental problems confronted in the clash between the social
production and capitalist appropriation.
In the chapter titled Theoretical, Engels lays out the basic conflict between what we
know as socialism and capitalism, doing so by first examining what he calls the
Materialist conception of history (Engels 1939, p. 292). In his materialistic history
he claims that the exchange and bartering of products, and their production is the
basis of every social order (Engels 1939, p. 292). He states that in every society that
has ever appeared in history, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
294) Thus small workshops slowly became obsolete, being replaced by gargantuan
factories where hundreds of peoples would come to produce a product together.
The fundamental issue that arises however is this: in Feudalism, and in earlier
times it was clear who the owner of the product of labor was, the individual
producer had produced it, as a rule from raw material which belonged to him, and
often was also produced by himself... (Engels 1939, p. 295) As a result of this, there
was never any need to appropriate the product to him, as it belonged to him as an
absolute. (Engel 1939, p. 295) The problem here is that this idea continued on even
after social production had taken the place of individual producers, and the Social
products were treated as if they were still...the products of individuals. (Engels 1939,
p. 295) Now the owner of the instruments of labor continued to appropriate the
product, although it was not longer his product, but...the product of other s labor.
Thus therefore, the products now socially produced were not appropriated by those
who had really set the means of production in motion and...produced the products, but
by the capitalists. (Engels 1939, p. 295)
Therefore the original contradiction in capitalism can be summed up as such: The
mode of production is subjected to

It all started on a dark a stormy night just outside of the Paris city limits at about
11:00 P.M. when Doctor Bleed and his assistant checked into the old run down inn.
You see the weather was so bad that they could not even make it all the way over to
Spain so they had to stop.
They walked in with thier clothes soaked from the rainfall, when they first walked in
they realized that there was nobody at the desk to wait on them so they just took it
upon themselves to get a room for the night. That was thier first mistake. As they
walked up the creeky stairs they peered around every corner looking for an open

24. How Does The Appendix Affect The Human Body
The appendix is a tube shaped sac that is attached to and opening into the lower end
of the large intestine of humans and some other mammals. For human s the appendix
is an average of 9 centimeters long, but can range from 2 centimeters to 20
centimeters. The diameter is between 7 centimeters to 8 centimeters. The appendix is
most commonly located near the right hip bone in the right lower quadrant of the
abdomen(See Appendix A for image). The bottom portion of the appendix is
approximately two centimeters below the ileocecal valve, a sphincter muscle that
separates the small and large intestines. This sign is named after Dr. Charles

severity of the appendicitis... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No scientist or research team has been able to discover what the appendix provides
or does for the body. Its has been an unsolved mystery for many years. A recent
study done by a team of scientists out of Midwestern University has suggested that
the appendix does have a function for the human body. The study was done by
tracking a total number of 533 mammal species for an overall of 11 million years.
The team looked for specific instances in which the appendix had disappeared or
reappeared. When the organ would reappear this would show that there was an
evolutionary necessity for the appendix.
Through this research and intense study it was discovered that the appendix
reappeared in mammals between 29 and 41 times. The organ had only disappeared
from lineages 12 times; this strongly suggests that the appendix provides a function to
the body that has not been discovered. The authors of the study wrote, Thus, we can
confidently reject the hypothesis that the appendix is a vestigial structure with little
adaptive value or functions among mammals. (Office of Communications,

When will the end come? It is human nature for humans to ask questions. Many of
these questions are without answers and there is no possible way to come up with
one. A common question that plagues the human race is When will the world end?
For thousands of years, astrologers and psychics have been trying to come up with
clues to when it all will end. There is a source, the Bible, which aids humans,
specifically Christians, in trying to come up with some answers. Many places in the
Bible such as Revelations, Ezekiel, Matthew, Daniel, and I Corinthians all give some
clues to how and when the end of the world will come. Two articles that give some
insight on this subject are Visions or Heaven, Dreams of the End by ... Show more

The Catholic Church, even though they do not speak of the Rapture (McBride
amp; Praem, 65) believes that we will be with God someday. They are not sure
though how this will happen (McBride amp; Praem, 58). The second question a
millenarian would ask is What about the years of tribulation? A millenarian says
that there will be seven years of tribulation. They base this claim on the happenings
in the book of Revelations. In the Book of Revelations the number seven is used
several times like, the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and so on. Nevertheless,
millenarians are not sure when all of this will happen. The Catholic Church believes
though that the tribulations will come along with the Second Coming. The third
question is What, exactly, is meant by millennium? In the American Heritage
Dictionary, millennium is defined as In the NT, a thousand year period in which
Jesus is to reign on Earth. (American Heritage Dictionary, 529). This same
definition is found in The Book of Revelations 20:1 6 (McBride amp; Praem, 61).
Millenarians believe that after the seven years of tribulations and the Battle of
Armageddon, comes the millennium as described in Revelations, will come. The
final question is When can we expect the Second Coming? Millenarians believe that
the Second Coming is the last criteria for the end of the world. Not only
26. The Poetry of Walt Whitman Essay
Walt Whitman is considered by many to be one of the greatest poets of the
nineteenth century. Whitman grew up in New York and was a member of a large
family, having eight siblings. Only four of these siblings lived to adulthood. His
father was an alcoholic, which led to Whitman becoming more like a father figure
than a brother to his siblings. Whitman quit school at the age of eleven. He then
worked as a journalist, as a carpenter, as a teacher, and as an editor before focusing
on poetry. Whitman is most well known for his book of poems, Leaves of Grass.
Whitman could not find a publisher interested in his poems; therefore, he published
them himself. Whitman rereleased this collection of poems several times, each time

Whitman deplored slavery and was even fired from his job as an editor for his
outspoken views on the subject. Whitman saw Lincoln as someone who wanted to
put an end to slavery and as someone who would put his words into action.
Whitman took a great interest in The Civil War. His brother served in the war and
Whitman volunteered as a nurse at an army hospital in Washington, D.C., where he
dressed the wounds of injured soldiers, as well as read to them, and wrote letters
for them to their families. Whitman gave lectures on President Lincoln almost up
until his own death. Whitman was greatly disturbed by the assassination of
President Lincoln and wrote these poems as a tribute to him. The most popular and
the most analyzed of these poems is When Lilacs Last in the DoorYard Bloom d.
Laurie Lanzen writes, this is a poem whose rich and sacred beauty and rapture of

Since the start of the United States, there have been politics. Starting with those in
charge of the new colonies, leaders of battles for land all the way to the leaders of
the revolution, politics have played a role in American life. Once the revolution
occurred and it was determined that George Washington would be the nation s first
president, a new track for politics was formed. It was from this line of presidents
and official democratic government that political parties, ways of voting, and the
various branches of our government were created. Since the time of the Federalists
and Democratic Republicans, many things have changed about the way that
elections work, how candidates are elected, what the candidates are expected to do
and how to act, and the civility of elections. However, one thing has remained the
same, in order to be elected into office as the President of the United States, one
must find a way to appease voters. In the most recent presidential campaign between
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, many new election tactics were presented
especially the use of social media, reality entertainment personalities and trying to
gain millennial support by relating to them in various ways. As the use of this new
tactic went up, the extremities in other aspects of the campaign only increased as
well. There became an almost lack of seriousness and rise in hate and bullying,
especially in advertising pro their campaign and against their candidates. Political

her physically. While wandering through the jungle to leave the Congo, Leah gets

when she gets better, she chooses to stay in Africa with Anatole. Staying with
Anatole comes with consequences because she is white among all the other
Africans. This environment puts her in danger, but she states I d fight alongside
the Simbas if they d let me (421). She understands that what the Belgians and
Americans are doing is wrong and she takes responsibility for it because she is
white. Leah takes responsibility for this and therefore she always feels guilty
because it is her home country that is causing all this pain on others. She even
states how all the Congolese that were killed will go uncounted...or count for
nothing, if that is possible (422), but the white people that were killed will be
noticed. These surroundings allow Leah to see the unjust treatment the Congolese
are given. Also, after living with Anatole in Kinshasa, her outlook on life is more
negative and she describes how she survives here on outrage (450). She used to be
a very optimistic person, but now that she sees the true way these people have to

Moreover, Leah tries to fit in in the new neighborhood, but after her husband is back

feels empty and she no longer has the one thing that shields her from being different
than others. She used to love her father indefinitely, but over time her love for her

ways. Some cultures believe in reincarnation while others believe in nirvana. In
some places the mourning process can last from one day to one year. It s crazy to

South Africa has been practicing their death and burial rituals for over hundreds of
years. Their beliefs are an infusion between Christianity and Islam. They believe in
a live after death also known as reincarnation and in the role of a deceased ancestor.

holy to help carry or touch the coffin, so funeral processions often involve huge
crowds around the coffin itself. During the burial, the body is placed in a grave

In his famous work Summa Theologiae an incorporation of Aristotelian
philosophical insights modified by the Hebraic and Islamic philosophers into the
developed theology of the Christian Fathers and Doctors of the Church especially
Augustine; Aquinas suggested that natural law is a habit and not an act. According
to him the human soul has three constructs; powers, habits and emotions. Natural
law is not an emotion or a power but a habit. Conscience which Aquinas calls
Synderesis is the law of human intellect. Aquinas maintains that conscience is a
habit hence natural law is itself a habit as it is constituted by reason. Natural law
belongs to the genus of precept and abides in human beings and it has only one
founding precept upon which other precepts are based i.e. good is to be done and
evil is to be avoided, bonum facendum et proseguendum et malu evitandum (Summa

You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood

Witnesses strongly believe that contributing to the health of their bodies by way of
any type of blood material is not intended by God s will. However in dire cases,
ethical questions need to be raised regarding the patient s mental capacity and legal

As a doctor, to prepare myself to take on this case I would have to process a
substantial amount of information and use my best judgment to conceive what the
best plan of action regarding this case should be. Reviewing the four key principles
in medical ethics: nonmaleficience, beneficence, respect for autonomy, and justice,
would prove to be very helpful. After reviewing and consulting with my peers I
would most likely conclude that the patient is the one receiving the service and is
to be put first above all other factors contributing to the situation. According to the
first principle, nonmaleficience, it would not be appropriate as a professional to
practice medicine based on his or her own beliefs and not consider the patients
feelings about the operation. In this particular case, regarding religious constrictions
the doctor must decide if the patients needs outweigh the ethical belief of
nonmaleficience. Asserting empathy in this case could prove to be a problem. How
does a person wholly understand the beliefs of another when they have not been
exposed to those beliefs and culture that supplied this person with their values of

they would be having on their patient s life. Jehovah Witnesses ex communicate with

Why did printmaking become a major pictorial medium in northern Europe during
the fifteenth century? Printmaking became so popular in the fifteenth century
because it was cheap, you could print a lot of copies, and an efficient way to
produce books. To begin with, the main reason printmaking became a major
pictorial medium in northern Europe during the fifteenth century was because it
was very cheap to produce. Artist were not just producing works for the church.
The market for art was now opened to more buyers, such as middle class. They
could afford to purchase copies of the art pieces to put in their home. Even more,
printmaking became a major pictorial medium at this time because they could create
multiple copies of each piece. So,
40. Love And Love In Othello
C.H Herford defines love as a passion, kindling heart, brain, and sense alike in natural
and happy proportions...and which commonly occurs at first sight and once for all .
When one truly loves someone or something, he or she is attracted to their/its entirety
and not just one single attribute. However, in William Shakespeares play, Othello, the
passage from Act 1, ii, lines 129 170 exhibits a relationship, that raises doubts on
whether Othello and Desdemona s marriage is based on true love, or the attraction
towards singular materialistic qualities. Shakespeare s clever manipulation of
language makes it evident that Desdemona is in fact attracted to Othello s stories and

By making it clear that she has the need to listen to all of Othello s stories, and the
representation of Othello s stories as inanimate and tangible objects make it
evident and easy to answer that Othello s materialistic qualities play a major part in
the wooing of Desdemona, without which, they might not have fallen in love.
Othello even states that she [Desdemona] loved me for the dangers I had passed
and I loved her that she did pity them (I,iii,168 169) vindicating that their love for
each other was wholly based on singular characteristics, which served to be attractive

41. Industrial Farming And Its Effects On The Environment
Commercial farming today produces over 250 million pounds of the meat that is
eaten. While some see that industrial farming has its benefits such as less man power
with technology, large scale production, and lower prices, (Fredrick, Advantages of
Industrial Agriculture) the industrial food institutions have also had bad effects.
These effects concern agriculture, the environment, human health, and animals.
Industrial farming can lead to environmental degradation, air and water
contamination, loss of biodiversity, loss of marine life, and even poor treatment of
animals kept inside these industrial farms (Horrigan, How sustainable Agriculturecan
Address the Environmental...). Because industrial farming is tied to these bad
effects more sustainable approaches can be made to lessen the severity of this
occurring issue. Industrial farming has had effects on our environment in many
ways. Due to large scale farms having to hold many animals, even millions, this
comes with the responsibility of dealing with animal waste. A lot of this waste is
either put into fields for nourishment or is released throughout the air and even
dumped into lakes or oceans. This causes the water to then become unclean and
useless. Making clean, drinkable water for families and other animals even harder to
access. Woodlands are also cut down in order to produce human consumables that are
then fed to more human consumables. For example, in Argentina many of the
woodlands have been cut down to produce

43. Greek Mythology And Greek Myths
Greek mythology played an important role in Ancient Grecian culture. It was often
used to explain natural phenomena, human characteristics, and life events. There
were also numerous morals and ideas instilled in Greek myths that influenced the
behaviors and actions of the people of Ancient Greece. When observing and
attempting to interpret Greek myths, one may find that there is no single,
fundamental meaning; rather, the story s meaning changes depending on the interests
and emphases of its teller. Though many myths focused on the actions of men,
women were still very important in many Greek myths, and had a number of
different roles, ranging from the prototypical helpless damsel in distress to great and
powerful goddesses. These various roles symbolize how women are represented in
both negative and positive lights depending on the ideals of the person interpreting
the myth. In modern times, for example, women in Greek mythologyare interpreted as
either pro or anti woman depending on what messages the feminists want to convey.
Although various views of women in Greek mythology have been presented over the
years, when one examines the portrayal of females in the stories of The Judgement of
Paris, Pasiphae, and Calypso in Greek mythology, one can better understand how
many aspects of Greek myths portrayed women in a negative way. One very well
known Greek myth revolves around the three goddesses, Athena, Hera, and
Aphrodite. This myth states that the three goddesses
44. The Biblical Basis For Business Enterprise
Introduction
The Christian business person is a shepherd ushering in the kingdom of God in a
fallen world. The practice of the becoming more like Jesus will grow in results of
taking risks, managing finance and time wisely, acquiring new habits and
understanding. The Christian business person is redefining success, which is much
more than material gain, but in a relationship and whole partnership with Jesus.
Business shepherds are called by God in various duties and stewardship within His
Kingdom, giving them differing talents and abilities. The stewardship of the
shepherd s roles and talents determine success in the eyes of God. Success is the
dominion in one s sphere through obedience to God s will. Obedience to God s will
flows out of our relationship with Jesus, and in that relationship, obedience is not a
daunting task, on the contrary, it is a complete willingness to glorify God.

Ann Hopkins: Harvard Business Case Analysis #1
Ann Hopkins: Harvard Business Case Analysis #1 Why was Ann Hopkins passed
over for a partnership? Give examples of events that contributed to her being passed
over. The Supreme Court ruled Ann Hopkins was passed over for Price Waterhouse
partnership because she was not a feminine woman (Selman and de Llose, 1990)
calling it sexual discrimination. The partners claimed she needed help with personal
and leadership qualities required of a partner (Badaracco 2001, p. 9), however when
discussed with the voting partners, the reasons varied. When asked, according to
Krulwich, Conner told Beyer she had irritated some senior partners. (Badaracco, 2001
p.10). Unfortunately Krulwich was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore she did not make an effort to change when finally receiving some
feedback as it was implied it was about appearance and not team and leadership
abilities. It was suggested she be more like the other women, which she felt it was
offensive (Badaracco, 2001 p.8) and therefore made no effort to change.
What do you make of Thomas Beyer s behavior? Although he was an advocate of
Hopkins partnership, he made some remarks to her that could be construed as
sexist. Still, he was trying to help. Do you think his advice was good? Was it
appropriate and realistic, even if it was painful for Hopkins to hear? Or was Beyer
just insensitive? I think Thomas Beyer s behavior supports the fact that it is still a
man s world. He did want Hopkins to succeed, but he wanted her to look and act
more like a lady. His opinion of what a lady should be like in a partnership position.
Gender stereotypes put men and women in certain boxes based on an opinion of
what they should and should not look or act like. He was trying to help but not in
the correct way. I feel he was trying to play political correctness. His advice was not
good and totally inappropriate. Although the company culture reality may be for
men to look a certain way and woman to wear traditionally feminine clothing,
makeup and jewelry it cannot be used against a person nor can they be discriminated
against unless it is a bona fide occupational qualification. I do not feel it was

The story I wrote is an adaptation of The Epic of Gilgamesh by Herbert Mason.
My adaptation is based off of the theme in the epic of personal growth and
development. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, Mason conveys this theme by transforming
Gilgamesh from a tyrant to his people (15) to a ruler who was awed at the heights
his people had achieved (92), determined to better the lives of the citizens of Uruk. At
the beginning of the story, Gilgamesh is a greedy, obnoxious king, with little to no
respect for anyone. Later, however, after many journeys and a loss, Gilgamesh sees
light at the end of tunnel. The ruler experiences normal life, having to endure
hardship, and the loss of a friend. He doesn t get what he wants, as he normally
would as a king. Through this grief and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knows he must move on with his purpose of the King of Uruk, to better the lives
of his people. We see Gilgamesh transform from a selfish deity to a compassionate
mortal as the story progresses.
In my adaptation, I am striving to maintain the elements of Gilgamesh that make
the epic unique. The three main characters of the epic were A) Gilgamesh and his
large ego, B) Enkidu and his loss of innocence, and C) Utnapishtim, and his
guidance and second chances. The three main events of the epic were A) the
capturing of the Forest of Humbaba, B) the death of Enkidu, and C) Utnanpishtim
giving Enkidu a second chance to live by providing Gilgamesh with a flower to
revive his lost friend. I decided to make my adaptation about a convenience store
being robbed, to imitate the Forest of Humbaba being captured. I have one
character, Jimmy, who acts as Gilgamesh by convincing his guiltless friend, Derek, to
rob the store with him. Jimmy has a very commanding presence in my story. He also

Jews suffered countless amounts of atrocities throughout the history of time. Both

The will to live is a psychological force to fight for survival seen as an important and
active process of conscious and unconscious reasoning. This occurs particularly
when one s own life is threatened by a serious injury or matter. The idea in which
someone who is on the threshold of death may consciously or unconsciously try to
stay alive through the belief that they have a reason or something to live for, along
with giving up on the will to live. There are significant correlations between the
will to live and existential, psychological, social, and physical sources of distress.
The concept of the will to live can be seen as directly impacted by hope. Many, who
overcome near death experiences with no explanation, have described concepts
such as the will to live as a direct component of their survival. The difference
between the wish to die versus the wish to live is also a unique risk factor for suicide.
An example in the movie the pianist of is when Waldyslaw Szpilman hid in the

The abuse and mistreatment of domesticated animals such as dogs isn t typically an
issue that gets a lot of media attention and usually goes unnoticed by the public eye.
This is due to people being either misinformed or just not knowing about the affects
that abuse has in animals, how studies show that people that abuse animals are also
more likely to be arrested for battery against another human, how 30 million animals

The system of Collective Security indisputably faces certain dilemmas and
contradictions. It is clear that the premise of Collective Security still needs cautious
legislation. It is only an evolving jurisprudence and its loose ends need to be tied up
through concentrated deliberation. A system of Collective Security that would serve
the purposes of keeping peace and would sustain continual international onslaught
needs to be developed. A coping mechanism that would stand the test of time is of
utmost necessity.

It is true that sovereign states cannot be fully bound by pledges to act in some
hypothetical future case. Most international situations are only prophesized now, and
there often is no conclusive proof that such a situation threatening international peace
may manifest itself.
TENDING TOWARDS UTOPIA: As suggested in the beginning of this paper, the
concept of Collective Security tends to be over ambitious. German Sociologist Karl
Mannheim reserves a special term for Collective Security Relative Utopia one that
tries to be realistic but retains the elements of fantasy. It looks to bridge what might
sometimes be unbridgeable. It seeks to civilize a world that constantly heads towards
anarchy.
Moreover, hypocrisy is often attributed to the ideology of Collective Security, as it
uses war to rid the world of war. Although the international theory of Liberalism
comes close to advocating Collective Security as a means to a desirable end, the fact
remains that Collective Security offers nothing new to the world. The entire system
and process works akin to the process of immunization, which gets rid of micro
organisms through another breed of micro organisms. Similarly, Collective Security
only uses war as a vaccination against war, and this logic is certainly vulnerable to
criticism. Although its ends are commendable, its means are definitely

An Intimate View of the Imagery in Langston Hughes Dream Deferred
America is built on a dream, the idea that anyone has the opportunity for prosperity,
success, and an upward social mobility when they work hard. This dream is a siren
call to America s shores for millions of people from across the world looking to
forge a better life. Unfortunately, this dream seems to elude Blacks in America. The
elusiveness of this dream is not because Blacks do not want to succeed or have the
hunger to achieve their goals but because extraneous forces often causes it to be out
of reach and ultimately deferred. But What happens to a dream deferred? in Langston
Hughes seminal poem Dream Deferred the use of vivid imagery shows the regret,
sadness, and the danger of forgotten dreams. The beauty of a dream is unrivaled; a
dream can snatch 13 colonies from under the tyrannical thumb of a Queen or rouse
millions of people to descend on the National Mall to hear a reverend from Atlanta
speak of equality. Dreams are succulent like a grape but what happens when
unattended? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? This image elicits regret, a once
inviting fruit is now dried, withered, and less appealing. The sun (outside influences)
have taken away what made the grape beautiful and replaced that attractiveness with
a vison of what could have been. Though that raisin can still provide sustenance, just
as a janitor still provides for their family, the janitor s dream of becoming an artist
53. Hero As A Hero In Edmond Rostand s Cyrano De Bergerac
In Edmond Rostand s romantic tragedy Cyrano De Bergerac a big nosed French
musketeer with quick wit tends to babble to those willing to listen about the ideal
characteristics of a heroic man, which he claims to denote. Although Cyrano may
seem like a hero that upholds the qualities he mentions through his sacrificial acts
he truly only has one intention at heart, self satisfaction. Cyrano claims to have a
large heart. [A] symbol of courage and of courtesy, [which] indicates a nature kind
and keen, witty and warm and liberal Cyrano upholds these standards by doing
things such as interrupting the play in the hall of the hotel burgundy because
Montfleury s acting impedes upon the great art and Cyrano must have [the] theatre
cleansed of this great boil for the good of all the fans. At the Siege of Arras, Cyrano
writes to Roxanne twice a day under Christian s name, risking his own life to walk
through the enemy lines at night so he can send the letters. Cyrano does this so
Roxanne can rest easy while Christian fights in the army. Cyrano also distracts De
Guiche while Roxanne and Christian get married even though he truly loves
Roxanne. All of these torturous acts that Cyrano puts himself through for the good
of others excellently portrays his heroism. Cyrano interrupts the play because
anyone who truly knows acting knows that Montfleury was tarnishing the great art
and could not be allowed to continue. After putting an end to the play Cyrano
courteously throws a bag of money into the crowd as reimbursement for the play.
But if Cyrano meets the IQ of that which he brags he must know realistically only
about a fourth of the people who pay their hard earned money to see that show will
get it back knowing the people are not going to evenly divide and distribute the
money but all surge for it at once. This already shows how thoughtless Cyrano acts
just to prove a point. But Cyrano s main offense comes when he revealed to Le
Bret that he really stops the play because of [Montfleury] casting fishy eyes upon
[Roxanne] whom Cyrano loves. Cyrano costs the majority of the hard working folks
who paid to see a play their money by stopping the play and never returns their
money, and almost ensures Montfleury will never
