Biodiversity And Its Impact On Biodiversity
Biodiversity is what makes the planet earth unique and different from every other planet in the solar
system. Biodiversity can be studied on a global level all the way down to studying it within a
microscopic ecosystem (National Wildlife Federation, 2015). It is important to understand that
biodiversity can be looked at genetically as well as environmentally as well. For example, genetic
biodiversity is seen in the variation of different breeds within the dog species, while environmental
biodiversity is the diversity of ecosystems and habitats (National Wildlife Federation, 2015).
Preserving biodiversity is perhaps the most important task that humans have to complete while living
on this planet. The ecosystems that make up all of the regions worldwide are immensely complex, so
conservation may be difficult at times. Additionally, many factors influence the species that inhabit
ecosystems, and these factors may complicate the preservation of biodiversity. Moreover, there is a
plethora of threats to biodiversity, both natural and manmade that are destroying ecosystems on a daily
basis. Out of these threats, the human influences are particularly severe and must be taken care of at
all costs. Biodiversity provides countless benefits for every ecosystem and creature, which is what
makes it worthy of conservation. Through the introduction and relocation of species, some degree of
restoration may be possible in the future. Biodiversity is an amazing natural process that makes life

belonging speech
Belonging speech
Good morning/Afternoon teachers and students today I will be showing you how a sense of belonging
or not belonging greatly influences an individual s identity. A change in identity occurs when
belonging is found through meaningful, intimate relationships, with senses of place, community,
safety and familiarity. The free verse novel, The Simple Gift, composed by Steven Herrick, the
dramatic fairy tale film, Edward Scissor hands, directed and created by Tim Burton and the novel
Matilda composed by Roald Dahl, all explore the concepts of belonging and relationships through the
strong use of literary techniques; and focus on a changing Identity as a base for belonging. All texts

Billy develops another significant relationship with Caitlin, a wealthy girl who is smart enough to
realise none of this means anything , because like Billy, she values a lack of material possessions, and
dislikes the identity associated with being wealthy. Billy s relationship with Caitlin provides him with
a sense of belonging to friendships.
Edward scissor hands tells us a story about an artificial man, Edward Scissor hands , who was made
by a lonely inventor who lived on top of a hill near a small town. Long after his inventor s death,
Edward is brought into society by Meg, a local resident and encounters many new and interesting
things as he attempts to belong in civilisation. This film explores concepts of belonging to groups or
communities and a sense of belonging in relationships shown by Edward s endless struggle to find
clarity and purpose.
A sense of isolation can come from ones difference to others, whether it is physical mental or spiritual.
Edward s hands made out of sharp scissors are iconic of his separation from the rest of society. They
create a physical barrier between him and others which greatly limit the amount of physical contact
Edward can have with others and the rest of the world and in turn creates a sense of isolation. This is
carefully and noticeably communicated by Burton by the use of colour and contrast, specifically
Edward s initial costume is completely black leather, decorated with metal studs and rings. His hair is

The Impact Of Computer Animation On The Entertainment...
EE Computer Animation From the very beginning of animation, artists created images on paper of two
dimensional animated characters. As time progressed, computers became an integral part of people s
lives. Technological advancements have allowed animators to use programs online that would turn a
two dimensional animated character or object into a three dimensional format. This made it easier for
animators to create whatever they wanted. Without the hassle of paper, these people had a variety of
tools to aid their creation. The impact of computer animation on the various entertainment industries
can be seen from the evolution through the years dealing with television and movies. The impact of
computer animation of the entertainment industry is shown through the evolution of movies dating
back from 1908 to movies today involving Computer Generated Images (CGI) programs, such as
Pixar Animation, through the use of various software programs, special props, and scenery. Animation
production created in modern day, such as video games, movies, computer software applications, and
television shows, requires various processes. Through the use of multiple computer assisted programs,
such as Autodesk Maya, animated visual effects are created more efficiently concerning more complex
3D models then from past archaic methods. Maya is an example of a software program that has been
utilized with high class companies, such as Walt Disney, in creating such films as in Dinosaur . This

How Did The Great Train Robbery Essay
The Great Train Robbery No crime in British history has ever come close to the Great Train Robbery.
It shocked the people of Britain as well as Scotland Yard who were bewildered by just how well
executed it was and how a group of convicts managed to pull it off. They would make off with little
over £2.6 million in a raid that would take as little as 46 minutes to execute. But these petty criminals
would soon learn the price of their deeds as they would get 378 years in jail between them. But with
any story there is a beginning and this tale will not fail to deliver excitement and fascination. The date
was Tuesday, 27th of November 1962. Two 3.8 litre Jaguars pulled up outside Comet House, the
centre of operations for the British airline BOAC by Heatrow airport. Nobody took notice as four City
Gents walked into the top storey men s bathroom. They were dressed in furry bowler hats and wore
black jackets and suits. They blended in with the crowd and huddled at the bathroom window. As they
looked out the window they could see their target. A security van with the cash they were after. The

The Isle Of Avalon s Role In Arthurian Legends
When discussing detailed legends of early of Britain, the Glastonbury Abbey topic arises. Over time,
the abbey has become a pivotal point in Britain s legends and folklore. The Glastonbury Abbey was
established as a Benedictine monastery under Beorthwald. Beorthwald was the first Anglo Saxon
abbot during the years 670 to 678 AD. Before its time under the Anglo Saxon s, it had existed for
many years as a Celtic religious center. The Glastonbury Abbey has attracted a lot of attention to itself,
mainly due to its role in the creation and development of the legends of Joseph of Arimathea and King
Arthur. Over the first six hundred years of its existence, the Glastonbury Abbey had accumulated vast
amounts of land from royal patronage, or royal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Isle of Avalon has neither a detailed location nor a fixed description in the literary world of
Arthurian tales. Geoffrey of Monmouth s, who lived in 1136 AD, wrote Historia Regum Britanniae.
This work is the oldest existing work that includes a reference to Avalon. The reason behind King
Arthur traveling to Avalon is because he received a lethal wound, and by traveling to Avalon he hoped
that he would be healed on the isle. Avalon s role in Arthurian tales is to preserve King Arthurs life. If
King Arthur leaves this place his mortal wound will reappear and kill him. In this sense he is
imprisoned at this place if he wishes to continue to live. In other versions of stories of Avalon, King
Arthur can leave as soon as his wounds heal. Later, during medieval times, Arthurian writers indicate
that Avalon is Arthur s permanent resting place and even his place of death. Legends of King Arthur
also claim that when the world is in peril, the king he will be resurrected from the Isle of Avalon to
save his people. Around 1190 AD, Avalon became associated with Glastonbury when monks at the
Glastonbury Abbey claimed to have discovered the bones of Arthur and his Queen Guinevere at the
Abbey. Gerald of Wales writes the first known connection to Glastonbury (Treharne,

Technology is Eden Essay
Technology is defined as the application of knowledge to extend human capabilities by equipment or a
technique for performing a particular activity . Technology has become very important part of our
lives. I believe that technology in our lives is leading us to Eden. An Eden is a place of complete bliss
and delight. Marshall McLuhan s statement that Invention is the mother of necessities is very true.
This is because if it were not for technology our work would not be as efficient or productive. New
technologies and innovations became our necessities and we cannot live without them now that they
have been introduced in our lives. Invention is a gale of creative destruction, and those gales lead to
changes in the economy and then in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Technology doesn t keep the person away from religion; in fact, technology is an aid for different
religious groups to spread their religion. For example, the religion of Islam has many authentic
websites of its own, as well as, different channels on YouTube to promote videos of different scholars
and lectures. It is educating people about the real message of the religion with help of technology. The
younger generations are learning about different religions by reading about it from the information
provided on websites. People in the past did not have many resources to learn about their religion
before but now it has become very easy. It is up to the individual person to learn from the knowledge
offered or to ignore it. Humanism believes that this world is important and that knowledge is
important. With knowledge one is able to get more from technology and is benefitted. We all know
technology has its ills but it is how you solve them that matters. With technology, our earth is facing
the problem of overpopulation, pollution, globalization and economic collapse. To maintain
population of developing countries, the developed countries should allow immigration. This will help
the developing countries from being overpopulated and developed countries to not decline in
population. In the past, technologies were not efficient and caused a lot of problems for the earth;

The Educational Value of Exhibitions in Musuems
Definition of exhibition
Before proceeding to the discussion of relationship between exhibition, communication and education,
the meaning of the term should be clarified first. The term exhibition implies several meanings owing
to a movement within different context and style of each professional realm. As the definition shows
in oxford dictionary, the word exhibition can be defined as a public display of works of art or items of
interest, held in an art gallery or museum or at a trade fair , and it is also refer to synonyms display ,
show . Similarly, here we can further defined the display as a method of communication and scenario
that convey diverse content to the audience in certain period or a specific space with the purpose of
information transmitting, promotion, education and enlightenment (Huang and Wu:1998, p.8).
Although there is subtle difference of definition and the representative word of exhibition, it is
noteworthy that we can hardly investigate the display apart from media, message, and audience.
Exhibition, communication, and knowledge shaping.
When it comes to the exhibition in museums, there is increasing discussion of museum as dialogue
environment and its learning impacts on audience. Modern museums have gradually transferred their
emphasis from collection, conservation and research to display and education. Besides the traditional
functions of museum, 吉村典夫( 1979: 104 107) maintains that organisation is encouraged to develop
responsibilities

The War Of The Vietnam War
Between 1964 and 1975 the heightened tensions over the Vietnam war caused many americans to
become divided on the actions taken by the government across seas. Americans questioned whether
the government could be trusted. The feeling of betrayal and government secrecy created the
Credibility Gap, in which many americans believed that the government no longer was for the people,
but for anything else that would benefit the government. The Vietnam War exacerbated the gap
between the pro war traditionalists and anti war liberals along with an increase in military action,
causing controversy over government spending; as a whole these factors established a sense of distrust
between the American government and its people. The Credibility Gap expanded during the Vietnam
War causing citizens to question the truthfulness of president Johnson s administration and the reports
on events that were occurring overseas in Vietnam. When Daniel Ellsberg released the Pentagon
Papers to the media in 1971 he increased the public s distrust in the American government. The
pentagon papers, originally named Report of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Vietnam Task
Force by Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, contained secret government reports detailing the
decisions made in the Vietnam War under the Kennedy and Johnson administration. Also written
within the report was a detailed layout of operation Rolling Thunder, in which the United States
strategically bombed north Vietnam from

has radically changed, by twenty five billion dollars from 1996 to 2016. This accumulative grow is a
result of people briefs that organic food free pesticides, chemical and grown in good arable, are

James De The Man That Lives

James Dean: The Man That Lives On
James Dean once said, If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, I mean, if he can live on
after he s died, then maybe he was a great man. James Dean probably did not know he would be a man
that would qualify for this statement at the time it was said, but there is no doubt that he lived to
achieve it (Howlett 1). James Dean is an important American figure because he represented a powerful
character to many people, was a very popular and successful actor, and he was able to encourage a
new way of thought among a not so expressive society. Today we remember Mr.Dean as the
spontaneous character that inspired a new way of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did however have one serious relationship towards the beginning of his career. The girl s name was
Liz Sheridan and she was engaged to James. After his engagement ended, he still managed to have
countless lovers. He was even rumored to having an affair with Marilyn Monroe. His lovers ranged
from both sexes, though he never had defined himself as bisexual (James Dean). This daringness to
oppose society was one of the Dean s most famous qualities.
James Dean was able to represent a society challenging and influential individual on and off the
screen. Yes his talent itself left many in awe, but it was more of the impact he was able to have on
people s perspectives. James s characters were easy to relate to since they all represented him quite
accurately. All three of his films were a major success. These films are east of Eden, Rebel Without a
Cause, and Giant. Even with his short life, he was nominated many times and won two awards. His
nominations included two Golden Globe awards (which he won), two BAFTA awards, and two
Academy Awards. His nominations were mostly for best actor (Awards). This was most likely because
his passion for his art really showed in his films. James really was a well trained and strict actor even
though his persona gave off a more casual and relaxed vibe. James wrote in a letter to his family:
I have made great strides in my craft. After months of auditioning, I am

Compare Two Poems in Which the Poets Explore Attitudes to...
Defying Gravity by Roger McGough and Mort Aux Chats by Peter Porter are two poems that have
death as a theme. Although they refer to death in different ways. Mort Aux Chats refers to death to
convince you to dislike cats. Whereas Defying Gravity is about a mans victory with death. These
poems rely on language to emphasise the attitude to death. Defying Gravity is told from the point of
view of a dying mans best friend. It uses a lots of metaphors and I think this makes the poem very
effective and clever. The first stanza of the poem explains about gravity and its significance to us.
Gravity is one of the oldest tricks in the book This explains that it s been around for a long time and

The way McGough writes this makes it as if he is actually talking to us and it s like reading between
the lines. Soon now the man I love (not the armful of bones) This shows how much the illness can
affect someone and the way they feel about someone because clearly the speaker is distressed by
seeing his friend in such a way that it then leads them on to say freeing himself from the tackle Using
terms which are used in rugby really gives that part of the poem impact because it shows that it is
more personal towards the friend that he clearly cares about and the physic affects of the illness have
left such obvious affects which reminds him so much of what the person has missed out on.
A box of left over s will be lowered into the space on loan from the clay. This idea is taken from the
bible where humans where created from the earths clay. And now the dead man is being put back. As a
dead body in a grave. Then, weighed down, the living will walk wearily away. The last line use
alteration and long words make it slower to say and gives it a slow depressive feel which makes you
think about it. Mort Aux Chats translates to death to cats. This poem is rhetorical trying to persuade us
to dislike cats. Mort Aux Chats is a political poem and it has a persuasive tone. There will be no more
cats this makes the reader want to read on as they want to know why there will be no more cats. Cats

Lucky Stars Poem
Dumont s use of the lyric poem helps her affective involvement inside the poetry, as it allows her to
rouse scenes and characters with no need to set them within a completely described narrative
framework; it also allows her to stay at period on pics, emotions, moods, and emotions with out
accomplishing a neat feel of closure. The poem lucky stars, for example, meditates on the speaker s
feelings while she is being driven home in the dark by an older brother. Although the speaker refers
briefly to an outside world many times I am taken back / to my parents in that logging camp (17); a

provides to his younger sister. The brother is affectionately fashioned into a mother duck, his hair
slicked back, a ducktail (17), in whose nest of blankets and pillows (17) the speaker feels safe and
protected. This metaphor extends throughout the poem, creating a mood of lightness, warmth, and

Student Athletes Have A Very Busy Schedule

Time to Work
Division 1 student athletes have a very busy schedule. To be a Division 1 student athlete you must
have great time management skills, determination, and be focused. For them to be successful in the
classroom and in their sport, they have a very tough decision. They must pick two of the three: social
life, academics, or athletics. They must also realize that they need to make the decision before they
make a mistake for instance, becoming ineligible. Student athletes have many options for help, just as
a average college student does. Student athletes need to have more readily available resources but also
use their time wisely through counseling as freshman.
The Problem
Some people who have never participated in extracurricular activities may ask, What is so different
between a student athlete s day compared to an average college student s. According to Richard
Sherman, a former Stanford University student athlete and now professional football player, student
athletes have mandatory lifting in the morning, meetings, and practices throughout the day during the
season (Richard Sherman Student Athlete Education 00:01:14 00:01:26). An average college student
doesn t have this time commitment. They may be involved in many organizations but the
organizations don t meet every day, which is a big difference between the two schedules. A study done
by Penn Schoen Berland showed that on average

Why Cave Art Has Been A Popular Form Of Art During...
Cave Art has been a popular form of art during prehistoric period with there being records of rock art
in a variety of various places ranging from Africa, Asia and Australia to Europe and the Americas.
Some of the earliest example of cave art goes back as far as 40,000 years ago in Europe with 200 cave
painting sites found in France (Kelly and Thomas, 2016, p.255) such as the Cave of Niaux, as well as
Creswell Crags in England and the Cave of El Castillo in Spain as well as a variety of others.
Throughout the world a common imagery is seen in the paintings with them being consisted of
animals and very little of actual humans, the reason for this type of imagery is not known hence why
the interpretation of upper Palaeolithic cave art has been a disputed topic resulting in a variety of
theories being constructed in order to explain the existence of the cave art which were constructed.
Over time there has been many theories which have been accepted and rejected, however there has not
been one agreed general idea, some of the popular ideas which have been established although are that
the paintings were set to establish boundary markers, to be used as part of hunting magic / shamanism
or they may have just simply have been art to admire. Yet there has been no certain answer established
as each theory seems to be continuously disregarded and soon replaced with another, however as time
as gone on people have begun to not try and answer this question as they believe that it is

The Insanity Of The Ghost In Shakespeare s Hamlet
William Shakespeare created the well renowned playwright, Hamlet, which includes many ties to
religion and other foreign ideologies. One of these multiple ideologies is whether or not King Hamlet
s ghost is more of an christian ordeal or if he is just Prince Hamlet s lesser conscious pulling him into
the dark. Many discussions have been carried out over what the purpose of King Hamlet s ghost really
plays in Prince Hamlet s revenge and if he does fuel his anger for revenge or if he was just imagining
his dead father, later causing his insanity. The appearance of King Hamlet s ghost in Shakespeare s
Hamlet is no mere plot device. The supernatural being represents not only a catalyst for Hamlet s
revenge, but a manifestation of Shakespeare s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What if he wanted the reader to dive more in depth and actually find the true meaning and
representation of King Hamlet s ghost? Another ideology is that the ghost himself is just Prince
Hamlet s conscious going insane and wanting to seek revenge for his father s murder. Prince Hamlet
loved his father and now that he had been murdered by a mysterious cause his anger grew hotter.
Following events like his uncle marrying his mother may have been the final turning point for the
young prince. the Christian havens for souls. The Hamlet ghost is a compound of the Senecan revenge
ghost, the Catholic purgatorial spirit, and the popular graveyard spook created for an audience
prepared by theatrical tradition, by what Cardinal Newman called floating religious opinions . (Spigel
148) Spiegel is showing how Shakespeare intended for the ghost to disrupt represent the religious
views back then and not to represent the young mind of Prince Hamlet. Hamlet wasn t just imagining
his father giving him his evil, vengeful thoughts, the ghost was there in spirit. Sister Miriam Joseph
states that Hamlet, since he was of a follower of the lord that his power had him believe in god and his
higher power. Since Hamlet, she argues, is the rightful ruler, both morally and legally, he is invested
with God s authority. The revenge which the ghost commands is, therefore, not personal vengeance
but God s retributive justice. (Spiegel 149)

Everyday, throughout the world, restaurants throw away large amounts of uneaten food. Public Health
laws prevent them from re serving or reusing this food, and, for similar reasons, they cannot simply
give it away to hungry people. We opted to review this as our messy situation due to the impact that
this has on people and the environment.
Response and Revision
The issue of food waste could be improved should all restaurants and food services participate in a

An educational campaign should be launched to inform and encourage new behaviors. All consumers
should be shown the benefit of composting versus traditional disposal methods. Once consumers have
been properly educated, encouraging participation is key. This would include providing a composting
method for waste to be properly composted. The food recycling program would provide the means for
all associates to begin composting donations rather than disposing via trash receptacles. Food compost
bins should be provided in any food service industry to allow for proper disposal of waste. Companies
should locate composting facilities and begin distributing food waste to said facilities rather than
traditional trash disposal services. If possible and practical, companies should work to create their own
composting stations.
True success will be measured when all food service companies send their food materials for
composting. As output is measured, immediate improvement cannot be expected, but steady and
sustained increases in the amount of food waste sent to compost is expected. Tonnage is the most
consistent way to measure improvement.
There is also the important element of rewarding improved behaviors. Companies should provide
composting initiatives to their employees. Companies can be rewarded with government incentives for
implementation and maintenance of the composting problems.

Toy Story Essay
What does a flamenco dancing astronaut, the claw, and a wise cracking potato have in common? Toy
Story, of course! The three Toy Story cinemas each have impactful lessons in them that are relatable to
what we learn as leaders in Jr. Beta club. Each of the three movies have a significant lesson that you
can assimilate into being a leader in Beta today and each of my three years of Beta have given me the
same. You could say that our leadership skills were taken above and beyond!

The second Toy Story movie, released in 1999, revealed the lesson of the importance of making new
friends. Through the duration of this Disney sequel, you watch how Woody is taken on an adventure

Bullseye were taken out of a bad situation and were put into a better place where they learned
important lessons, like we do in Beta. Stinky Pete however, was unwilling to go and ended up in a
worse situation than he was before. In my second year of being a member of Beta club, we were
encouraged to go out, make new friends, and introduce more people to the life changing club that we
are a part of. We did this in our school through advertisement of our club and talking to new people.
We also were encouraged to talk to students in other county s during Kentucky State Beta Convention,
to find new and more exciting ways to continue to improve our club and how to get new members in
that process. When doing this, we made new friends and lead students in the club, however there were
always those who just did not want to be a part of the club and were unwilling to change to make their
life better in the future. This lesson taught me, along with the other Beta members, to think about other

How Can There Be Limits To Parliamentary Sovereignty
One of the tenets of law has always been the ideal that Parliament is wholly sovereign, being the

In his Macbeth adaptation (1971) Roman Polanski s makes various intriguing and meaningful
decisions to underscore the subjects of aspiration, culpability, and the corruption related to supremacy.
From his unprecedented position, the most fascinating decision was the choice to give Francesca
Annis the role of Lady Macbeth. Customarily, Lady Macbeth is a more established figure in the story,
and her control over Macbeth is that of a solid willed spouse. Be that as it may, by making a 26 year

Brokeback Mountain Analysis
Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx is a heart wrenching short story written with an intimate style
that evokes clear imagery in the mind of the reader. Although, only 28 pages in length the short story
offered Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana source material that had potential to be expanded and to
build upon the already created Midwestern reality. One of the elements altered for the screenplay from
the short story is the perspective; which follows the main character, Ennis Del Mar over the course of
twenty years. Although, not told through Ennis eyes exactly, the reader is given access to his
emotional state; meaning his thoughts and feelings are explained more so than any other character. For
example: He had no serious hard feelings, just a vague sense of getting shortchanged, and showed it
was all right by taking Thanksgiving dinner with Alma and her grocer and the kids, sitting between his
girls and talking horses to them, , telling jokes, trying not to be a sad daddy. (pg. 16) The screenplay
shares a similar perspective, but expands the view to include Jack Twist, moving between the lives of
both men throughout the years. However, the screenplay stays true to the source material by paying
more attention to the original main character, Ennis. Another element that is changed from the short
story to the screenplay is the expansion or flushing out of characters. In Proulx s story, characters
other than Ennis and Jack are mostly referred to, or given glimpses of.

however, after listening to the song couple times and analyzing the lyrics this song is not an uplifting
anthem rather it is fairly dark, depressing song despite the title. Having fame, being rich and doing

drums and the melodic guitar sounds changes the entire state of mind of the tune from the first, Lissie,
utilizing her own particular vocal voice and her style of singing to decide an alternate topic of the
tune, drawing out a high and substantial tone. In other words, Kid Cudi`s original melody throughout
the song is played by a piano and that tune remains consistent to the end. Which is changed from
piano to a Guitar that essentially plays the main background tone of the cover song, the pitch of the

contrasts between the two versions, the pitch distinction of a similar melody. The cover version
changes the understanding of the original version which separates the voice style of two distinct

Family Secrets And Mystery In The Story Of Oedipus
The story of Oedipus is a perfect example of family secrets and mysteries that lie within a society. No
matter which era or generation, there will always be similar stories and events like Oedipus. Mankind
is fascinated by mystery, and when is specific to their families, the urge and curiosity to get to the
bottom of things will always be present. The basic questions of who am I? And where did I come
from? Will always be the driving force behind any individual in the search for the truth. The story of
Oedipus can be seen both as tragic as well as heroic in some of his actions, ignorance cannot be used
to excuse a crime but it can make it unintentional.
Oedipus was cursed, indirectly, due to the sins of his father Laius after a crime he committed; the
cursed stated that his unborn son would kill him. Laius was blinded and possessed by the curse since
he immediately demonstrated selfishness, as well as a lack of affection and love for his newborn son.
This is because he commanded that the child be killed. He pierced the three day old infant s ankles
and gave him to a shepherd, with orders to expose him on Mount Cithaeron, outside Thebes
(Sophocles 28). Even before Oedipus was born, his fate will be filled sealed with tragedy; it was
indeed inevitable to prevent.
It was significant to point out how fate took away Oedipus s free will, which started when a drunken
guest at a banquet questioned his paternity (Sophocles 28), while leaving out important details that

Inhumanities of Man
During a time of hardship and cruelty known as the French Revolution, the peasants rebelled against
the nobles in violent and repulsive ways. The novel A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens was set
in the scary and difficult time period of the French Revolution. During this time, the actions of man
were inhumane and horrible. Innocent people were being killed without reason and humans were

Why Cursive Writing Should Be Taught In Schools
While some argue, cursive writing belongs in the archives and common core ushers it out of schools,
the evidence shows we need it as much as ever. says Jennifer Doverspike. Some people may question
why it is still necessary for cursive to be taught in our schools. Especially when we are no longer in
the 21st century. Where we have now entered the new age where technology is constantly on the rise,
and tablets and iPhones have taken over. This drastic change has allowed our children and adults to
take the easier route. Although the electronic world has taken over and has added new elements to the
writing world. Researchers have found a strong connection between writing by hand, the mind,

So why cursive still needed in our education system? This seems to be a alarming question the

States alone personal vehicles consume more than 140 billion gallons of diesel fuel and gasoline per

Gas Prices affected by Geopolitics and Supply problems Along with the demand for oil rising, many
disruptions to the supply have created bottlenecks. For example, the war in Iraq has resulted in
reducing oil production there, as has also happened in Nigeria due to rebel activity. The continuing
nuclear weapons wrangle with Iran, the government increasing its control over industry in Russia, and
the oil companies being nationalized in Venezuela has given rise to misgivings about future
supplies. In recent years, refining crude oil in the US has also become more expensive, with experts
citing two main reasons for this: congressional mandates resulting in shifting towards the production
of more environmentally clean gasoline blends, and the oil refineries on the Gulf Coast being
devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the year 2005. In addition, the production of crude oil in
America has also become costlier since the places that have been easiest to drill have largely gone
dry. This means that oil companies have to go increasingly into offshore oil producing areas such as
the Gulf of Mexico, which cost much more to drill in. With oil companies having to access harder to

Essay On Probable Cause
1. What is the standard legal definition of probable cause?
Probable cause is a requirement which can be found in the Fourteenth Amendment that must usually
be met before an arrest can be made, before being allowed to conduct a search, seize property, and to
receive a warrant which is related to the alleged crime. Probable cause is considered a level of
reasonable belief, probable cause must be based on facts and not an assumption. In civil court, a
person can be sued if they have probable cause, and in criminal court, the defendant can be prosecuted
or arrested if they also have probable cause. If the officer cannot prove probable cause, unfortunately,
the evidence then becomes inadmissible, and the evidence will be thrown out.

Financial Aspect of Climate Risk Management
Climate change is a lethal and destructive force. In the recent past major climatic events like floods,
tsunamis etc. have led to substantial destruction of wealth. Such events have highlighted the need of
mechanisms for risk sharing of the losses and restoring the lost human and infrastructural capital. The
climate change agreement declared on December 12, 2015 was one of the highlights of the year. It
showcased the resolve of various nations in fighting climate change. It was a welcome change from
Copenhagen.

The value of nobility in the middle ages can hardly be questioned. The majority of nobles lived a life

Thomas Malory s The Tale of Sir Gareth examines this question and presents an interesting view as to
the true value of a knight. Malory uses the actions of important characters to reveal his opinion that

sends her brother Sir Gryngamour to retrieve Beaumains dwarf in order to question it of Beaumains

Gareth s attempt to regain his dwarf reveals another aspect of his knighthood, his masculinity, as he
threatens Sir Gryngamour if the dwarf isn t safely returned to him (Huber 52). While there are no
doubts that Lyoness is an important character, one has to wonder about the importance Malory places

proposition, especially considering his impressive victory through the Passage Perelous and defeat of

Title: Volatile Organic Compound detection using Graphene: Determining the Fruit Ripeness
1 Introduction
Fruits are commercially vital and nutritionally crucial food constituent. Forming an element of a
balanced diet, fruits supply essential growth governing factors required for good health and play a
critical role in human nutrition. Distributed widely in nature, their economic values are influenced by
comparatively short ripening period and short post harvest life. The assessment and maintenance of
the quality of fruits and vegetables are very difficult task. The timely detection of fruit ripeness is very
important as it is related to the profitability and also competitiveness of the producers as well as
processors. During harvesting and handling it is common that fruits are subject to damage because it is

Speech On Buy Nothing Day
BUY NOTHING DAY
In 1990, in ten countries around the world, people demonstrated their discontent with consumer
culture and decided to hold a Buy Nothing Day. Their intention was to encourage people to say no to
consumerism and to remind them that they shouldn t be slaves to material possessions. Every year
since then, they have staged similar days, and each year more and more people and countries have
joined them.
On Buy Nothing Day, activists organise various free and creative forms of entertainment to prove to
people that it is possible to have fun without spending money. Activists also pass out colourful
booklets and stick up posters to encourage people to think twice about the dangers of consumerism.
Some activists publicly cut up their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis of Frost s Poem, Mending Wall Essay
People keep an emotional distance between one another to prevent others from getting too close to
them. Robert Frost in the poem Mending Wall shows the reader an example of two different kinds of
people. One kind of person is open to the idea of friendship and is willing to make an effort to try to
dissolve any conflict, and try to get along with someone else anyway possible. Then there is the other
side which is against the idea of change, someone who is closed to the idea of something new and
against breaking down social barriers. Yet both sides seem to find their common ground meeting at the
wall.
Mending Wall by Robert Frost displays the seasonal routine of two neighbors who are constantly
mending a wall which separates their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their dedication and commitment to the wall shines through when reading how persistent these men
are about keeping it well intact. However, even though both men take great care of the wall, the
welcome necessity for keeping the wall there and intact is not shared by both neighbors, but the
neighbor opposing the idea of the wall uses this time to socialize with his neighbor and tries to
convince him that this time spent repairing the wall is as foolish and unnecessary as having the wall
left there in the first place. You take notice that during this spring mending time the two neighbors are
not only completing a joint task, but they are also building some form of a relationship. If this
relationship was not willingly made between the two neighbors they would not repeat their routine,
time and time again.
As the poem goes on, it clearly shows that even though the two men are conversing and working
together, there is always some distance between them at all times. The poem even states that on a day
we meet to walk the line and set the wall between us once again. (14 15) It shows that even though
between both men there is a small link of friendship, that the one neighbor still wishes the wall to be
intact to be left alone so he can have his own personal space.
As the poem continues it begins

Synthesis Of Pnitroaniline From Aniline Essay
This experiment takes a longer time then other experiments, taking approximately three weeks to
complete. It involves a three step synthesis to make pnitroaniline from aniline and then we will be
characterizing our product using the new and useful technique of thin layer chromatography (TLC).
We will not be doing the first part of this experiment only parts two and three.
Electrophiles are reagents which are attracted to other electrons and in order to bond to nucleophiles,
they accept electron pairs. Electrophiles attack benzene and this results in hydrogen substitution.
Nonetheless, this isn t thermodynamically favoured due to a sp3 hybridized carbon being generated.
This disrupts the cyclic conjugation. In order for the aromatic ring to be regenerated, a proton will be
lost at the sp3 hybridized carbon. This means pnitroaniline can be prepared by electrophilic aromatic
substitution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acetyl groups are electron withdrawing. This reduces the activity of the lone pair on the nitrogen
either in a protonation reaction or an oxidation reaction. The conditions required for nitration are
extremely acidic. Protonation of the nitrogen of aniline causes it to become a very strong deactivating
group.
In the second part of the experiment, we will be performing the nitration of Acetanilide. We will first
need to form the nitronium ion in situ by the dehydration of the nitric acid. The dehydrating agent for
this experiment is sulphuric acid. The nitronium ion is an extremely strong and powerful electrophile
which reacts with π electrons involved with the aromatic ring of

  • 2. Biodiversity And Its Impact On Biodiversity Biodiversity is what makes the planet earth unique and different from every other planet in the solar system. Biodiversity can be studied on a global level all the way down to studying it within a microscopic ecosystem (National Wildlife Federation, 2015). It is important to understand that biodiversity can be looked at genetically as well as environmentally as well. For example, genetic biodiversity is seen in the variation of different breeds within the dog species, while environmental biodiversity is the diversity of ecosystems and habitats (National Wildlife Federation, 2015). Preserving biodiversity is perhaps the most important task that humans have to complete while living on this planet. The ecosystems that make up all of the regions worldwide are immensely complex, so conservation may be difficult at times. Additionally, many factors influence the species that inhabit ecosystems, and these factors may complicate the preservation of biodiversity. Moreover, there is a plethora of threats to biodiversity, both natural and manmade that are destroying ecosystems on a daily basis. Out of these threats, the human influences are particularly severe and must be taken care of at all costs. Biodiversity provides countless benefits for every ecosystem and creature, which is what makes it worthy of conservation. Through the introduction and relocation of species, some degree of restoration may be possible in the future. Biodiversity is an amazing natural process that makes life ... A change in identity occurs when belonging is found through meaningful, intimate relationships, with senses of place, community, safety and familiarity. The free verse novel, The Simple Gift, composed by Steven Herrick, the dramatic fairy tale film, Edward Scissor hands, directed and created by Tim Burton and the novel Matilda composed by Roald Dahl, all explore the concepts of belonging and relationships through the strong use of literary techniques; and focus on a changing Identity as a base for belonging. Billy develops another significant relationship with Caitlin, a wealthy girl who is smart enough to realise none of this means anything , because like Billy, she values a lack of material possessions, and dislikes the identity associated with being wealthy. Billy s relationship with Caitlin provides him with a sense of belonging to friendships. Edward scissor hands tells us a story about an artificial man, Edward Scissor hands , who was made by a lonely inventor who lived on top of a hill near a small town. Long after his inventor s death, Edward is brought into society by Meg, a local resident and encounters many new and interesting things as he attempts to belong in civilisation. This film explores concepts of belonging to groups or communities and a sense of belonging in relationships shown by Edward s endless struggle to find clarity and purpose. A sense of isolation can come from ones difference to others, whether it is physical mental or spiritual. Edward s hands made out of sharp scissors are iconic of his separation from the rest of society. They create a physical barrier between him and others which greatly limit the amount of physical contact Edward can have with others and the rest of the world and in turn creates a sense of isolation. This is carefully and noticeably communicated by Burton by the use of colour and contrast, specifically Edward s initial costume is completely black leather, decorated with metal studs and rings. • 4. The Impact Of Computer Animation On The Entertainment... EE Computer Animation From the very beginning of animation, artists created images on paper of two dimensional animated characters. As time progressed, computers became an integral part of people s lives. Technological advancements have allowed animators to use programs online that would turn a two dimensional animated character or object into a three dimensional format. This made it easier for animators to create whatever they wanted. Without the hassle of paper, these people had a variety of tools to aid their creation. The impact of computer animation on the various entertainment industries can be seen from the evolution through the years dealing with television and movies. The impact of computer animation of the entertainment industry is shown through the evolution of movies dating back from 1908 to movies today involving Computer Generated Images (CGI) programs, such as Pixar Animation, through the use of various software programs, special props, and scenery. Animation production created in modern day, such as video games, movies, computer software applications, and television shows, requires various processes. Through the use of multiple computer assisted programs, such as Autodesk Maya, animated visual effects are created more efficiently concerning more complex 3D models then from past archaic methods. • 5. How Did The Great Train Robbery Essay The Great Train Robbery No crime in British history has ever come close to the Great Train Robbery. It shocked the people of Britain as well as Scotland Yard who were bewildered by just how well executed it was and how a group of convicts managed to pull it off. They would make off with little over £2.6 million in a raid that would take as little as 46 minutes to execute. But these petty criminals would soon learn the price of their deeds as they would get 378 years in jail between them. But with any story there is a beginning and this tale will not fail to deliver excitement and fascination. The date was Tuesday, 27th of November 1962. Two 3.8 litre Jaguars pulled up outside Comet House, the centre of operations for the British airline BOAC by Heatrow airport. Nobody took notice as four City Gents walked into the top storey men s bathroom. They were dressed in furry bowler hats and wore black jackets and suits. They blended in with the crowd and huddled at the bathroom window. As they looked out the window they could see their target. A security van with the cash they were after. The men alerted ... The Isle of Avalon has neither a detailed location nor a fixed description in the literary world of Arthurian tales. Geoffrey of Monmouth s, who lived in 1136 AD, wrote Historia Regum Britanniae. This work is the oldest existing work that includes a reference to Avalon. The reason behind King Arthur traveling to Avalon is because he received a lethal wound, and by traveling to Avalon he hoped that he would be healed on the isle. Avalon s role in Arthurian tales is to preserve King Arthurs life. If King Arthur leaves this place his mortal wound will reappear and kill him. In this sense he is imprisoned at this place if he wishes to continue to live. In other versions of stories of Avalon, King Arthur can leave as soon as his wounds heal. Later, during medieval times, Arthurian writers indicate that Avalon is Arthur s permanent resting place and even his place of death. Legends of King Arthur also claim that when the world is in peril, the king he will be resurrected from the Isle of Avalon to save his people. • 9. The Educational Value of Exhibitions in Musuems Definition of exhibition Before proceeding to the discussion of relationship between exhibition, communication and education, the meaning of the term should be clarified first. The term exhibition implies several meanings owing to a movement within different context and style of each professional realm. As the definition shows in oxford dictionary, the word exhibition can be defined as a public display of works of art or items of interest, held in an art gallery or museum or at a trade fair , and it is also refer to synonyms display , show . Similarly, here we can further defined the display as a method of communication and scenario that convey diverse content to the audience in certain period or a specific space with the purpose of information transmitting, promotion, education and enlightenment (Huang and Wu:1998, p.8). Although there is subtle difference of definition and the representative word of exhibition, it is noteworthy that we can hardly investigate the display apart from media, message, and audience. Exhibition, communication, and knowledge shaping. When it comes to the exhibition in museums, there is increasing discussion of museum as dialogue environment and its learning impacts on audience. Americans questioned whether the government could be trusted. The feeling of betrayal and government secrecy created the Credibility Gap, in which many americans believed that the government no longer was for the people, but for anything else that would benefit the government. The Vietnam War exacerbated the gap between the pro war traditionalists and anti war liberals along with an increase in military action, causing controversy over government spending; as a whole these factors established a sense of distrust between the American government and its people. The Credibility Gap expanded during the Vietnam War causing citizens to question the truthfulness of president Johnson s administration and the reports on events that were occurring overseas in Vietnam. When Daniel Ellsberg released the Pentagon Papers to the media in 1971 he increased the public s distrust in the American government. The pentagon papers, originally named Report of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Vietnam Task Force by Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, contained secret government reports detailing the decisions made in the Vietnam War under the Kennedy and Johnson administration. The food recycling program would provide the means for all associates to begin composting donations rather than disposing via trash receptacles. Food compost bins should be provided in any food service industry to allow for proper disposal of waste. Companies should locate composting facilities and begin distributing food waste to said facilities rather than traditional trash disposal services. If possible and practical, companies should work to create their own composting stations. True success will be measured when all food service companies send their food materials for composting. As output is measured, immediate improvement cannot be expected, but steady and sustained increases in the amount of food waste sent to compost is expected. Tonnage is the most consistent way to measure improvement. There is also the important element of rewarding improved behaviors. Companies should provide composting initiatives to their employees. • 30. Brokeback Mountain Analysis Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx is a heart wrenching short story written with an intimate style that evokes clear imagery in the mind of the reader. Although, only 28 pages in length the short story offered Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana source material that had potential to be expanded and to build upon the already created Midwestern reality. One of the elements altered for the screenplay from the short story is the perspective; which follows the main character, Ennis Del Mar over the course of twenty years. Although, not told through Ennis eyes exactly, the reader is given access to his emotional state; meaning his thoughts and feelings are explained more so than any other character. For example: He had no serious hard feelings, just a vague sense of getting shortchanged, and showed it was all right by taking Thanksgiving dinner with Alma and her grocer and the kids, sitting between his girls and talking horses to them, , telling jokes, trying not to be a sad daddy. (pg. 16) The screenplay shares a similar perspective, but expands the view to include Jack Twist, moving between the lives of both men throughout the years. However, the screenplay stays true to the source material by paying more attention to the original main character, Ennis. Another element that is changed from the short story to the screenplay is the expansion or flushing out of characters. Mankind is fascinated by mystery, and when is specific to their families, the urge and curiosity to get to the bottom of things will always be present. The basic questions of who am I? And where did I come from? Will always be the driving force behind any individual in the search for the truth. The story of Oedipus can be seen both as tragic as well as heroic in some of his actions, ignorance cannot be used to excuse a crime but it can make it unintentional. Oedipus was cursed, indirectly, due to the sins of his father Laius after a crime he committed; the cursed stated that his unborn son would kill him. Laius was blinded and possessed by the curse since he immediately demonstrated selfishness, as well as a lack of affection and love for his newborn son. This is because he commanded that the child be killed. He pierced the three day old infant s ankles and gave him to a shepherd, with orders to expose him on Mount Cithaeron, outside Thebes (Sophocles 28). Even before Oedipus was born, his fate will be filled sealed with tragedy; it was indeed inevitable to prevent. • 45. Analysis of Frost s Poem, Mending Wall Essay People keep an emotional distance between one another to prevent others from getting too close to them. Robert Frost in the poem Mending Wall shows the reader an example of two different kinds of people. One kind of person is open to the idea of friendship and is willing to make an effort to try to dissolve any conflict, and try to get along with someone else anyway possible. Then there is the other side which is against the idea of change, someone who is closed to the idea of something new and against breaking down social barriers. Yet both sides seem to find their common ground meeting at the wall. Mending Wall by Robert Frost displays the seasonal routine of two neighbors who are constantly mending a wall which separates their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their dedication and commitment to the wall shines through when reading how persistent these men are about keeping it well intact. However, even though both men take great care of the wall, the welcome necessity for keeping the wall there and intact is not shared by both neighbors, but the neighbor opposing the idea of the wall uses this time to socialize with his neighbor and tries to convince him that this time spent repairing the wall is as foolish and unnecessary as having the wall left there in the first place. You take notice that during this spring mending time the two neighbors are not only completing a joint task, but they are also building some form of a relationship. If this relationship was not willingly made between the two neighbors they would not repeat their routine, time and time again. As the poem goes on, it clearly shows that even though the two men are conversing and working together, there is always some distance between them at all times. The poem even states that on a day we meet to walk the line and set the wall between us once again. (14 15) It shows that even though between both men there is a small link of friendship, that the one neighbor still wishes the wall to be intact to be left alone so he can have his own personal space. As the poem continues it begins ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Synthesis Of Pnitroaniline From Aniline Essay This experiment takes a longer time then other experiments, taking approximately three weeks to complete. It involves a three step synthesis to make pnitroaniline from aniline and then we will be characterizing our product using the new and useful technique of thin layer chromatography (TLC). We will not be doing the first part of this experiment only parts two and three. Electrophiles are reagents which are attracted to other electrons and in order to bond to nucleophiles, they accept electron pairs. Electrophiles attack benzene and this results in hydrogen substitution. Nonetheless, this isn t thermodynamically favoured due to a sp3 hybridized carbon being generated. This disrupts the cyclic conjugation. In order for the aromatic ring to be regenerated, a proton will be lost at the sp3 hybridized carbon. This means pnitroaniline can be prepared by electrophilic aromatic substitution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acetyl groups are electron withdrawing. This reduces the activity of the lone pair on the nitrogen either in a protonation reaction or an oxidation reaction. The conditions required for nitration are extremely acidic. Protonation of the nitrogen of aniline causes it to become a very strong deactivating group. In the second part of the experiment, we will be performing the nitration of Acetanilide. We will first need to form the nitronium ion in situ by the dehydration of the nitric acid. The dehydrating agent for this experiment is sulphuric acid. The nitronium ion is an extremely strong and powerful electrophile which reacts with π electrons involved with the aromatic ring of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
