Black Panthers
The Black Panthers Party was founded by two African American men in 1966 in Oakland, California.
Like many people of color, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale were tired of the longstanding racism that
oppressed many African American communities. They decided to take a stand and fight to end such
discrimination in order to obtain freedom from all kinds of oppression and control. The Black Panther
party was a self defense movement, and they had several objectives and beliefs to make changes in
society. The Ten Point Program highlighted the Panthers set of ideals which encouraged black political
and social activism. Point number 7 of the Ten Point Program states, We want an immediate end to
police brutality and murder of black people, other people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is no longer primarily concerned with the prevention and punishment of crime, but rather with the
management and control of the dispossessed. I grew up watching action movies where police officers
are the heroes fighting crime and protecting the helpless and catching the bad guys. Imagine the young
black kids of this generation growing up viewing the police as villains instead of heroes. This level of
distrust only leads to rising conflicts between African Americans communities and the law

Evolution Of Ballet Research Paper
The Evolution of Ballet
How has ballet evolved since popularized during the Italian Renaissance? Going back to preschool, I
have loved to dance. Ballet was the first style I learned, and it made me fall in love with dance. My
instructor this year often talks about what ballet was like when he danced (in the 1970s,) and also
before then. One day, he explained to my class how girls used to dance on their toes before pointe
shoes were invented. I found it fascinating, so I decided to research more about it after class. As I was
looking up the history of the pointe shoe, I came across some websites that explained the history of
ballet and where it originated. Even after having danced for eleven years, I realized there is so much
that I do not know about it. There is more to ballet than going to class and doing performances. Just as
in any sport or hobby, it helps to know how it first started and how it has evolved. To improve at
anything, one must understand the fundamentals. By doing this research, I can gain ... Show more

Any artist would agree with me in saying that experiencing art is of value to, and almost necessary to
achieve, a well cultured life. This research should give a non dancer a great idea of why dancers love
what they do.
This research is basic and qualitative. Its primary goal is to explore the evolution of ballet. No data
had to be collected, and the research involved no experiment.
Catherine de Medici was born in Italy during the Italian Renaissance. Her family was a patron of the
arts, which is how she became acquainted with ballet. The ballet at this time was called Ballet de
Cour, or court ballet. During this time only boys danced, but Medici still loved to watch. When she
moved to France to marry King Henry II, she brought her love of dance with her. In 1581 the first
ballet, Ballet Royal de la Reine, was performed in the Medici

I Sit Before You A Self Proclaimed Sustainablatarian
I sit before you a self proclaimed Sustainablatarian. I ve come through a long list of food and lifestyle
choices and here is where I am today.
Many years ago, I heard someone say be true to yourself so I quit eating meat. I had wanted to for a
while, but it s hard to go against the grain; to do other than what our culture tells us is normal . When I
was growing up the hippies from the 60 s were still weirdo s so that s what I learned was the definition
of weird. Since those weird hippies were vegetarians I didn t want to be that. But sometimes it only
takes finally listening to something we ve heard a million times.
My choice was partially a dietary choice. I told myself that if I didn t eat the meat I would have to
supplement my diet was something and hopefully it would be healthier. And partially it was an ethical
choice. I had read Michael Pollen s article Power Steer among other things and knew about how
animals are treated and believe it to be wrong. I don t object to animals dying because that s part of the
cycle of life. Something has to die so the something else can live. I used to say I feel just as guilty
about the broccoli dying as the cow dying. I don t actually feel very guilty about either because I
believe it s the way Mother Nature set up our system.
Over time the dietary choice has melded with the ethical choice. It s healthier for me to eat food that
was raised healthfully. I m still choosing not to eat unhealthy foods and replacing

Asynchronous Transfer Mode Wireless Network
Project name: ATM wireless network ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has been advocated as an
important technology for all types of services and networks. Most people believe that ATM will be the
standard for the future B ISDN (Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network). From the service
point of view, ATM combines both the data and multimedia information into the wired networks while
scales well from backbones to the customer premises networks. To ensure the success of ATM, lots of
the design issues have been standardized by ATM Forum. Wireless personal communication networks
(PCN) has been growing very fast in the last decade. Nowadays, laptop, cellular phone, and pagers are
very popular. Many systems have been developed to provide different services, such as, Personal
Communications Service (PCS), Portable Telephone Systems, and Satellite Communications System.
Usually, these services do not guarantee QoS (Quality of Services) so they are not suitable for the fast
growing multimedia applications. Due to the success of ATM on wired networks, wireless ATM
(WATM) is a direct t result of the ATM everywhere movement. WATM can be viewed as a solution for
next generation personal communication networks, or a wireless extension of the B ISDN networks,
which will support integrated data transmission (data, voice and video) with guaranteed QoS. WATM
architecture and protocols are already being well discussed. The ATM Forum are currently involved in
defining the baseline

Executive summary: cybermediary plays a vital role in commerce and business. As the augmenting
power on the socio economic and each and every facet of life , the cybermediary is an imperative
gateway used by enterprises when engaged in e commerce., and it has developed very much in the
recent years. Because of typical network industry, cybermediary must form a monopolized market
configuration as other network industries like telecommunications, even as in reality, most sub sectors
in of cybermediary do not contain a monopolized market formation, like C2C market place industry.
Obviously, the market structure of cybermediary is diverse from that of other network industries.

Difference Between Shrimp And Prawn
INTRODUCTION
Shrimp or prawn have various types and species in this aquatic ecosystem. Both of the terms, shrimp
and prawn are usually used by the people in this aquatic industry to described the multiple species that
exist in this world either from freshwater habitats or seawater habitats. Actually there are slightly
different between the used of this two terms. Shrimp are usually used for the shrimp that are from
seawater habitat while the prawn term are used to indicate the shrimp from the freshwater habitat.
However this two terms are not really known by the people that out from the aquaculture industry to

Should the US Government Bail Out and Subsidize the...
1) Should the US government bail out and/or subsidize the American maritime industry? If not, why
not? If so to what extent? There is little argument among national policymakers that the American
economy was severely horsewhipped by the Great Recession of 2008, and that the country has only
recently recovered sufficiently for economists to breathe a sigh of relief that the corner has been
turned. Likewise, there is virtually no argument among national policymakers that a healthy maritime
industry is also an essential component of the American economy. Finally, there is significant historic
precedent. The U.S. government has bailed out other industries and sectors in the past that were
viewed as being too large to fail because of the potential adverse impact on the American economy.
For instance, in his editorial, Rebuilding America and Creating Jobs A Jones Act Initiative, Munoz
(2011) writes, After bailing out the auto industry with $25 billion in loans and guarantees, the
government turned around and provided another $25 billion for the industry to retool its plants to
compete on world markets. The experiment succeeded, and American cars and trucks are now among
the best in the world (2). Moreover, it is national policy to support the maritime industry. According to
Section 1, Purpose and policy of United States, 46 App. U.S.C. 861, 2002: It is necessary for the
national defense and for the proper growth of its foreign and domestic commerce that the

The Silent Partners And The Social Responsibility Model Of...
Novel Ideas silent partners have numerous concerns with public officials calling off layoffs including
the hindrance of economic performance, an increase in insolvency, and an inability to maximize
company profits.. We realize that the principal motive is to maximize profits. As investors in our
company, we understand why the silent partners tend to agree with the social responsibility model of
Milton Friedman. The silent partners, like Mr. Friedman, feel as if we need to utilize our resources and
engage in activities that diminish the economic volatility our company is facing (Crawford, 9/20). A
primary concern is to do whatever it takes to maintain the company s solvency, while adhering and
staying within any legal boundaries. Another concern the silent partners may have is the social
responsiveness strategy that the officials from the local chamber of commerce and local economic
development group want us to utilize. The local organizations want us to avoid layoffs, so the
community can maintain economic stability. However, we know that the silent partners are concerned
that if we do not fire one of the full time employees, we will not be maximizing our profits, and again
increasing the economic volatility of our business. As the silent partners have mentioned, firing one of
the full time employees would not be of concern as we would save money, increase profits, and still
maintain a satisfactory level of customer service. However, many would categorize our strategy as

Wrongful Convictions And The Criminal Justice System
This paper takes a leap into the corrupted side of the criminal justice system. After analyzing several
articles regarding wrongful conviction cases in the Unites States, it is apparent that wrongful
conviction cases occur more often than society believed. It has come to surface in recent years that
wrongful convictions are a big problem with our criminal justice system. Researchers have discovered
the causes of wrongful convictions to be bad lawyering, government misconduct, informants, false
confessions, flawed forensic science and eyewitness error. Furthermore, this paper explores the affects
victims face due to a wrongful conviction. As society has begun to steadily realize that miscarriage of
justice is a possibility, researchers have considered reforms to the criminal justice system. Wrongful
Convictions in the Criminal Justice System During recent studies from several researchers it has been
concluded that there is a fault within our criminal justice system. Researchers discovered there is a
high wrongful conviction rate within the United States judicial system. After, extensive research, it
was found that wrongful convictions are caused by eyewitness error, false confessions, flawed
forensic science, an informant, bad lawyering, and government misconduct. Without a doubt, this
issue has shocked society, due to the fact we rely on the system for pure justice. Within my findings, it
is apparent that victims of wrongful convictions suffer numerous affects when

Germany. Germany is in western/central Europe, the geographic region running along the Baltic coast
where it is sandy, with dunes and small hills. Germans do not use the standard American dollar; their
main currency is called a Euro. On the other side of the coast are forest ridges and many lakes of the

Judgment Model Of Cognitive Distortions
The Judgement Model of Cognitive Distortions explains crime through cognitive distortions. It
includes three types of judgments or acts of reasoning. These are beliefs, values, and actions. Beliefs
are statements about the nature of the self and the world held by individuals, values are experiences or
attributes that are deemed to be of worth and which motivate an individual s actions and actions are
the product of beliefs and values. (Ward, Gannon and Keown, 2006, pg.325) The Judgement Model of
Cognitive Distortions states that an offender s distorted beliefs about himself and the world give rise
to offense friendly thoughts known as cognitive distortions and these thoughts enable the offender to
commit a crime. He later uses the cognitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Ward and Siegert, 2002, pg.331) The model states that there are four pathways prevalent in sexual
offenders that result in them committing an offense. These pathways are intimacy deficits, deviant sex
scripts, emotional dysregulation, and cognitive distortions. The four pathways interact to cause the
crime; however, they have their own primary causal mechanisms. (Ward and Siegert, 2002, pg.335)
The first pathway, intimacy deficits, is formed by insecure attachment and an inability of the offenders
to establish meaningful relationships with adults. The offenders who associate with this pathway
offend at specific times and often substitute a child in place of an adult for their actions. Offenders
make an inappropriate choice of a sexual partner because of their insecure attachment which prevents
them from forming deeper relationships with adults. This inability enables the offenders to substitute
an adult with a child and encourages them to develop adult like relationships with children. The
second pathway that leads to a sexual offence is deviant sexual scripts. A sexual script is a mental
representation individuals acquire during the course of their development that facilitate the
interpretation of intimate encounters and guide subsequent sexual behaviours. (Ward and Siegert,
2002, pg.332) A

Essay On Choroidal Melanoma
Choroidal melanoma is the most common intraocular (inside the eye) tumor in adults. Choroidal
melanoma is the most common cancer of the eye. It originates from the pigmented cells of the choroid
of the eye, it is not like other tumors that starts in other parts of the body and then spreads to the eye.
Choroidal melanoma is malignant; it can metastasize and eventually spread to other parts of the body.
In COMS (The Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study) states that choroidal melanoma initially
appearing as a small freckle beneath the retina, choroidal melanoma can grow in height and diameter,
and may eventually spread to other organs of the body, causing death. Since choroidal melanoma is an
intraocular tumor, and therefore usually not seen, patients with this disease often do not recognize the
presence of this tumor until it grows to a size such that it decreases vision either by obstruction ,
retinal detachment, bleeding or other complications. Pain usually does not occur except with large
tumors.
In Eye Cancer states that most of the choroidal melanoma patients has no symptoms, the best way to
detect this lesion early is to perform periodic evaluations of the retina under dilatation. Patients

of choice is usually enucleation. This is because the eye would not be able to tolerate the amount of
radiation that will need to treat a tumor of this size. The COMS study showed no benefit in

Establishing Duty In Tort Law
Accidents happen all the time. An accident might happen on the job or while you are simply enjoying
a day off from work. Many of the injuries are a slip and fall accident that might have happened on
another person s property. The fact is that you can t just run out and file a slip and fall injury claim.
First, the claimant must establish that they have a valid slip and file case by proving that the property
owner was negligent in someone. Thus, causing the accident. Certainly, establishing liability is the key
to filing and winning a slip and fall case. Here is more to consider.
Establishing Duty
Duty must be established first, before filing the claim. Duty in tort law is the legal obligation of an
individual to take reasonable care to maintain their property. Certainly, it must be established that the
property owner failed to take reasonable care to prevent the accident. Thus, establishing that they had
control over the property and the situation that caused the injury. For example, a store s manager had
knowledge that the new floors in the store were very slippery and did not take reasonable care to warn
the customers about the situation. Thus, causing injuries to customers. The plaintiff must prove that
the store manager or store owner had control over the situation, in order to win their case.

Social Issues On Abortion
Abortion is a current social problem that has affected the lives of many women, their friends, and their
families. Numerous policies have been implemented in regards to the legality of abortion, the
timeframe in which abortions can occur, required services prior to receiving an abortion, the funding
sources for abortion, and requirements for facilities providing abortion services. These policies may
vary from state to state, but are similar in that they attempt to dissuade a woman from aborting and
often make getting an abortion more difficult. While abortion and abortion policy tends to be a fairly
common topic during elections, it seems to remain a taboo topic for many people to talk about openly.
Women who have chosen to abort a child often will not admit it or discuss it due to the shame, guilt,
and fear of judgment. Early research suggested very few negative side effects for women following an
abortion. However, current research now shows links between mental health diagnoses, substance
abuse disorders, suicide, and abortion. There are many policies in place in regards to services before
and during an abortion, but what about after? An analysis of policies throughout the United States
indicates there are very few, if any, policies in place to assist post abortive women with mental health
or substance abuse services. Policies and requirements for post abortive women need to be developed
and implemented to help support these women and aid in this social welfare

arrangement is basically a form of risk sharing whereby if the lawyer loses the case, the client does not

is worked out as a percentage of his cost. In the US, many cases have been funded this way but in

Another area which could be hit is that of cases which have enormous public importance, but which
need large amounts of work, are difficult to win, and may attract relatively low levels of damages even
if successful. These include some types of action against the police and Government, such as
complaints by prisoners about their treatment. The Act does address these issues in that it provides for
cases in excluded categories to be funded in exceptional circumstances; it remains to be seen whether
this will be sufficiently flexible in practice. Another disadvantage is unfair trials. Where legal aid is
refused, a trial may prove to be unfair of one party is represented but the other is not. This is
potentially a breach of Article 6 of the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), which
guarantees the right to fair trial. In Steel v UK (2005) (or common known as the McLibel Two), Ds

Analysis Of A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night Essay
The film A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night , director Ana Lily Amirpour, is a mixture of genres such
as the Spaghetti Western, the teenage romance, and the vampire genre. The clash of genres in this film
brings out the idea of hybridity and duality, with the sounds and cinematography creating a sense of
ambiguity, or the in between . The underlying mix brings out a sense of horror for the overall feel of
the film as it leaves audiences with a sense of fear and realisation that not everything is as it seems.
The spaghetti western genre is a part of the mix of genres which provide the film with its theme of
duality and hybridity, and Amirpour has chosen to feed this genre through with the character of the
girl. Typical of the spaghetti western genre, the character is nameless. Audiences do not have the
privilege of finding out her name, and in the title she is referred to as A Girl . This feel of uncertainty
is heightened with a sense of fear when the only information we are presented about her is when she
tells Arash that she has done bad things . She is representative of the spaghetti western hero in her
characteristics and actions. Untiedt, upon analysing the fictional western hero, states that the first
defining characteristic of the western hero is isolation (7). Here the Girl is always seen to be walking
alone, she has no companions, and lives by herself. Dualism is brought out within the character, as the
western hero has a desire to explore without settling (7).

The four circumstances that are recognized as exigent are: 1. Hot pursuit is limited to a situation in
which a suspect is followed from the point of the offense to the destination in a continuous
transaction. 2. The exigency of imminent destruction of evidence may also justify the entry into and
search of a dwelling, if the police have probable cause that believe that criminal evidence will be
destroyed. 3. Suspect escape is an exigent; an officer may enter a home or other dwelling and search
for a suspected felon who the officer has probable cause to believe is presently within the home and
will escape if immediate action is not taken. 4. The risk of harm to the police or others justifying the
search of a person or a home if the officer has probable cause to believe that a risk of harm
exists(Garland, 2011).

Rape And The Justice System
Alexandra Grishaw
Social Problems
Ellis
4 April. 2016 Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town
Rape is one of the most violent crime known to man. It is also one of the most challenging to bring to
court. Considering that rape and consensual sex can hold the exact same evidence aka DNA evidence.
The book Missoula: Rape and the Justice system in a college town by John Krakauer, goes so far in
depth about the rapes that some women endured while attending the University of Montana. The way
the sexual assaults are described make you feel as if you lived them yourself. Other crimes such as
murder are far more talked than rape. This is because it is typically a crime the targets women. Men
can be raped too. But it doesn t happen near as often. Therefor, there is less media coverage. All over
the globe people have different views on rape. From people stating that women who dress
provocatively deserve rape. To this quote by Jessica Valenti; Now, should we treat women as
independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible has nothing to do
with being raped. Women don t get raped because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get
raped because they weren t careful enough. Women get raped because someone raped them (p.1). The
target of this book is about the rapes committed by the UM football team and/or UM students and how
the justice system failed to prosecute

Penile Growth Tension
Many guys who re underneath sized would decide on a thicker longer extra penetrating penis and even
as there are a lot of approaches in which to move about this pastime, penile growth lotions are not the
chosen and most attainable choices. Why is this? Why are not able to anybody wipe on some cream
and magically have a 9 inch penis emerge the subsequent morning and be as thick as a can of beans?
Rather then the common explanations why this has not a snowball s danger in hell of working, the
more definitive and least known motives will likely be mentioned proper now.
Wild West had Some Cream growth Salesman?
Penis creams have been around considering the early 20 s and 30 s and most likely even longer.
Maybe even the Wild West had some cream expansion salesman that canvassed the wilderness plains
browsing for the desperate small penile guys where to hawk their snake oils and lubrications. It seems
that the one factor that has changed is the panorama of that snake oil salesman because the penis

The reality of the topic is in terms of enlarging the penis some creams, if no longer all, don t work.
The explanations why many researchers and gain knowledge of groups have given for the truth that
the penis creams can not work are seeing that of 1 easy element. They do not sufficiently infiltrate the
epidermal layer of the penis and that s then somewhat useless. The cream producers have even long
past so far as to double or liberally lie and misdirect on the subject of the reality about penis lotions or
enlarging the mighty Johnson. What they ve mentioned and they are the cream manufacturers and
third social gathering salesmen who sell this garbage are that the creams create a vein growth and
tissue expansion results from that growth. The truth is that the penis lotions can t try this at

Government Censorship and Control in Brave New World
Imagine a society in which its citizens have forfeited all personal liberties for government protection
and stability; Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, explores a civilization in which this hypothetical has
become reality. The inevitable trade off of citizens freedoms for government protection traditionally
follows periods of war and terror. The voluntary degradation of the citizens rights begins with small,
benign steps to full, totalitarian control. Major methods for government control and censorship are
political, religious, economic, and moral avenues. Huxley s Brave New World provides a prophetic
glimpse of government censorship and control through technology; the citizens of the World State
mimic those of the real world by trading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The World State forbids the citizens from experiencing any negative emotion, for fear of losing
control. Soma, Latin for sleep, renders its users to a coma like blissful state, which Congdon describes,
borrowing the statement from Huxley himself, that soma allows the citizens to, periodically escape
from the pressure of routine and worldly cares (Congdon). Citizens are conditioned to use the drug at
the slightest challenge to the cultural norms, preventing any thoughts of rebellion or contempt against
the government.
Moreover, the World State explicitly harvests this religious emotion through requiring the citizens to
prescribe to their own self made religion, Fordism. As practitioners of Fordism, the citizens of the
World State revere real world Henry Ford as their savior. Huxley utilizes satirical comparisons
between Christianity and Fordism to illuminate that today s government utilizes Christianity in a
similar way, to quell the masses. Huxley uses obvious parodies such as switching Our Lord for Our
Ford and cutting the tops off all crosses so they resemble T s, a reference to Ford s Model T car, to
bring the truth to light without explicitly stating the fact. The followers of Ford also attend regular
Solidarity Services. These services are comprised of twelve individuals sitting around a table while
they sing hymns and ingest soma until the climax of an

Ida B. Wells Barnett targeted racism and segregation through the world of journalism. For example, In
the article Ida B. Wells Barnett (1862 1931), author Kristina Gupta stated, wells Barnett published
scornful stories. These articles discussed the lynching s and injustice acts that took place in Memphis
(National Women s History Museum). Ida B. Wells was one o the most influential people in
journalism history. She understood how powerful her words were and she used her press to uncover
the rotten truth on the sexual and racial challenges in the south. Being a woman of color herself she
knew firsthand the struggles African Americans had to endure daily. For instance, in the article Ida B.
Wells Barnett (1862 1931), author Kristina Gupta spoke of a time a worker on the Chesapeake Ohio
Railroads removed Wells Barnett from the coach section. She was then forced to ride in the colored
car. Gupta also mentions a time where Ida B. Wells three friends were lynched when she went out of
town(National Women s History Museum). These tragic events were meant to break Ida B. Wells and

Research Approach And Inductive Approach
When choosing the research approach, when the selection between deductive approach and inductive
approach both are suitable for the research. Deductive approach is when theory and hypothesis are
built up after reading literature and the testing theory and hypothesis is tested. Inductive approach is
focused on the testing theory. When this theory developed from the analysis of collected data which
depend on building theory (Saunders etal., 2003). So, the chosen method is the deductive approach.
First of all, we started to read the different literature to find the theories of our questions. If we start to
talk about research philosophy, we understand the way of thinking when it comes to the development
of knowledge. We can form the research process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When purchasing buyers have different choices all they make can be stressful and the possibility and

Pappadeax and Red Lobster
Pappadeux and Red Lobster Pamela E. Daniely
ENG 121
Prof. Renee Gurley
April 11, 2011
From a mouth watering fresh lobster tail to tasty fried alligator, everyone loves some type of seafood.
Many people consider Pappadeux and Red Lobster to be the best seafood restaurant in the area. They
are both known for serving wonderful, fresh seafood; the difference is in the menu, the service that
you receive, the quality of the food served, and the overall atmosphere of the dining experience that
sets them apart from one another. When dining at Pappadeux you will have the experience of elegant,
New Orleans style seafood elaborate dishes on the menu. Pappadeux is also known for the Cajun style

The last distinguishing characteristic while dining at each restaurant is the atmosphere. The
atmosphere at Pappadeux is as if you are attending a social function, while the atmosphere at Red
Lobster brings back memories of being at a restaurant on St. Simons Island. At Pappadeux, the table
all have white table cloths and there are decorative features along the outside and interior of the
building. While you dine there will be soft, relaxing, music that is being played throughout the
restaurant. The dining experience offers the atmosphere of seclusion although you are surrounding by
other diners. This provides for a feeling of elegance. The atmosphere at Red Lobster conveys an
entirely different ambience, the lobby contains a tank that holds the lobster that will be served to you,
and the children that are visiting the restaurant are all excited over watching the lobster fight causing a
ruckus of noise, which is understandable because it goes with the noise level at the restaurant. Very
few decorations are on the walls and there are minimal decorative items throughout the restaurant. The
seating is different at each restaurant also, at Pappadeux the wait staffs try and sit families in the same
area with small children so that the other patrons are not disturbed if they are trying to enjoy an
elegant dinner. At Red Lobster you are seated where ever the seating is

Why Are Indian Mascots Be Banned
Imagine thousands of people mocking your culture everyday. Well that is what happens to the Native
American population. Sports teams falsely portray what Native Americans act and look like, fans
mock and shame the culture and unknowingly scream racial slurs toward them. This is why Indian
mascots should not be banned. Redskin Is Officially a Dictionary Defined Racial Slur in all cases.
According to Webster Dictionary. If you didn t know a NFL team is named the Washington R******s.
The word R*****n is aired on news stations across America absolutely demoralizing the Natives
spirits everyday. According to the New York Times. To give you some context on how bad the slur is,
many newspapers will not write about the football team simply because they would have to state the
slur in the article. Also, R*****n is commonly associated with the N word. Furthermore fans across

Black Plague Dbq
The Renaissance was an important event in human history that caused us to realise how important
being individual is. When the black plague occurred, it made people think that there may not be a god
because of how tragic it was. Many important people such as Leonardo Da Vinci began making art
and literature that were less religious and more in this world. Also the city states had changes that
were necessary for the Renaissance. Without the changes Europe experienced we would still be under
the rule of the church and be forced into a certain religion instead of being free thinking individuals.
Black Death: The Black Plague was a dreadful event that caused suffering in Europe, however it was
also a wake up call for humanity. Many people believed that the pandemic was because the gods were
angry at humanity for... some reason? After the bodies piled up on the street and pits were made to put
them in instead of graves people wondered if the gods really cared about them. Another thing the
black plague caused is a new class which was the middle class. Serfs and peasants were dying and the
demand for them increased to a colossal extent. There was literally a law that had to be made saying

Giant Steppes Toward Freedom by Ancestors
It is difficult for many Americans today to imagine taking everything they own and moving to a new
country because of religious and political freedoms. With these freedoms taken so much for granted,
we rarely think of the steps taken by our ancestors to gain that liberty. When looking at attempts in
history to gain freedom, it is usual to look to the founding fathers of America and their sacrifices.
However, other groups of people have strived for the same thing, one such group being the people of
the divided German states shortly after the Seven Year s War. Through several generations of
Germans, these people moved across country, across continent, and eventually even across the ocean
to America in order to gain that much desired freedom. In about 1763, the Germans were experiencing
many problems. With the seven years war just behind them, much of the land had been destroyed.
Crops were trampled, and properties were decimated, making the living conditions in Germany very
difficult. On top of that, the war had left the political system in a state of chaos. At that time, Germany
was not together as a nation but was rather divided into forty two different states. Unified Germany as
we know it today did not come about until much later, in about 1872. During this time minority
religions struggled in the German states. Evangelical Christians such as Baptists were not looked well
upon, as well as Mennonites who were pacifists and did not believe in serving in the military.

Peter Winch And The Primitive Culture
A general public that needs social, innovative or monetary improvement is alluded to as a primitive
society. In Peter Winch s essay of studying a primitive culture, he is affirming us that cultures are
encompassed in language games. Additionally, he is trying to avert other anthropologists from
thinking that culture is imprecise from reality. Instead, he discerns judgment as way to cultural
imperialism. Correspondingly, Winch s perspective of reality has gotten to be one of the bases of
anthropological work in which it pursues to apprehend and explain the foreign cultural contexts at the

Significantly, the Ogoni live their lives enthusiastically subject to possibilities, while the government

article to be abused in the government industry s perspective: a roundabout wellspring of survival
which is interceded by the money related exchange. For this language game, it is the control of capital
that is the substance. The control of capital permits one to acquire (through acquisition) life s
necessities and gives access to life s dissipation. This debauchery is authorized since it is concluded
that this only happens after one s fundamental needs are represented and there is minimal expressive

Like many people of color, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale were tired of the longstanding racism that oppressed many African American communities. They decided to take a stand and fight to end such discrimination in order to obtain freedom from all kinds of oppression and control. The Black Panther party was a self defense movement, and they had several objectives and beliefs to make changes in society. The Ten Point Program highlighted the Panthers set of ideals which encouraged black political and social activism. • 3. Evolution Of Ballet Research Paper The Evolution of Ballet How has ballet evolved since popularized during the Italian Renaissance? Going back to preschool, I have loved to dance. Ballet was the first style I learned, and it made me fall in love with dance. My instructor this year often talks about what ballet was like when he danced (in the 1970s,) and also before then. One day, he explained to my class how girls used to dance on their toes before pointe shoes were invented. I found it fascinating, so I decided to research more about it after class. As I was looking up the history of the pointe shoe, I came across some websites that explained the history of ballet and where it originated. Even after having danced for eleven years, I realized there is so much that I do not know about it. There is more to ballet than going to class and doing performances. Just as in any sport or hobby, it helps to know how it first started and how it has evolved. To improve at anything, one must understand the fundamentals. By doing this research, I can gain ... No data had to be collected, and the research involved no experiment. Catherine de Medici was born in Italy during the Italian Renaissance. Her family was a patron of the arts, which is how she became acquainted with ballet. The ballet at this time was called Ballet de Cour, or court ballet. During this time only boys danced, but Medici still loved to watch. When she moved to France to marry King Henry II, she brought her love of dance with her. I ve come through a long list of food and lifestyle choices and here is where I am today. Many years ago, I heard someone say be true to yourself so I quit eating meat. I had wanted to for a while, but it s hard to go against the grain; to do other than what our culture tells us is normal . When I was growing up the hippies from the 60 s were still weirdo s so that s what I learned was the definition of weird. Since those weird hippies were vegetarians I didn t want to be that. But sometimes it only takes finally listening to something we ve heard a million times. My choice was partially a dietary choice. I told myself that if I didn t eat the meat I would have to supplement my diet was something and hopefully it would be healthier. And partially it was an ethical choice. I had read Michael Pollen s article Power Steer among other things and knew about how animals are treated and believe it to be wrong. I don t object to animals dying because that s part of the cycle of life. Something has to die so the something else can live. I used to say I feel just as guilty about the broccoli dying as the cow dying. I don t actually feel very guilty about either because I believe it s the way Mother Nature set up our system. Over time the dietary choice has melded with the ethical choice. It s healthier for me to eat food that was raised healthfully. I m still choosing not to eat unhealthy foods and replacing ... • 5. Asynchronous Transfer Mode Wireless Network Project name: ATM wireless network ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has been advocated as an important technology for all types of services and networks. Most people believe that ATM will be the standard for the future B ISDN (Broadband Integrated Services Digital Network). From the service point of view, ATM combines both the data and multimedia information into the wired networks while scales well from backbones to the customer premises networks. To ensure the success of ATM, lots of the design issues have been standardized by ATM Forum. Wireless personal communication networks (PCN) has been growing very fast in the last decade. Nowadays, laptop, cellular phone, and pagers are very popular. Many systems have been developed to provide different services, such as, Personal Communications Service (PCS), Portable Telephone Systems, and Satellite Communications System. Usually, these services do not guarantee QoS (Quality of Services) so they are not suitable for the fast growing multimedia applications. Due to the success of ATM on wired networks, wireless ATM (WATM) is a direct t result of the ATM everywhere movement. WATM can be viewed as a solution for next generation personal communication networks, or a wireless extension of the B ISDN networks, which will support integrated data transmission (data, voice and video) with guaranteed QoS. WATM architecture and protocols are already being well discussed. The ATM Forum are currently involved in defining the baseline ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Should the US Government Bail Out and Subsidize the... 1) Should the US government bail out and/or subsidize the American maritime industry? If not, why not? If so to what extent? There is little argument among national policymakers that the American economy was severely horsewhipped by the Great Recession of 2008, and that the country has only recently recovered sufficiently for economists to breathe a sigh of relief that the corner has been turned. Likewise, there is virtually no argument among national policymakers that a healthy maritime industry is also an essential component of the American economy. Finally, there is significant historic precedent. The U.S. government has bailed out other industries and sectors in the past that were viewed as being too large to fail because of the potential adverse impact on the American economy. For instance, in his editorial, Rebuilding America and Creating Jobs A Jones Act Initiative, Munoz (2011) writes, After bailing out the auto industry with $25 billion in loans and guarantees, the government turned around and provided another $25 billion for the industry to retool its plants to compete on world markets. The experiment succeeded, and American cars and trucks are now among the best in the world (2). Moreover, it is national policy to support the maritime industry. Novel Ideas silent partners have numerous concerns with public officials calling off layoffs including the hindrance of economic performance, an increase in insolvency, and an inability to maximize company profits.. We realize that the principal motive is to maximize profits. As investors in our company, we understand why the silent partners tend to agree with the social responsibility model of Milton Friedman. The silent partners, like Mr. Friedman, feel as if we need to utilize our resources and engage in activities that diminish the economic volatility our company is facing (Crawford, 9/20). A primary concern is to do whatever it takes to maintain the company s solvency, while adhering and staying within any legal boundaries. Another concern the silent partners may have is the social responsiveness strategy that the officials from the local chamber of commerce and local economic development group want us to utilize. The local organizations want us to avoid layoffs, so the community can maintain economic stability. However, we know that the silent partners are concerned that if we do not fire one of the full time employees, we will not be maximizing our profits, and again increasing the economic volatility of our business. As the silent partners have mentioned, firing one of the full time employees would not be of concern as we would save money, increase profits, and still maintain a satisfactory level of customer service. (Ward and Siegert, 2002, pg.331) The model states that there are four pathways prevalent in sexual offenders that result in them committing an offense. These pathways are intimacy deficits, deviant sex scripts, emotional dysregulation, and cognitive distortions. The four pathways interact to cause the crime; however, they have their own primary causal mechanisms. (Ward and Siegert, 2002, pg.335) The first pathway, intimacy deficits, is formed by insecure attachment and an inability of the offenders to establish meaningful relationships with adults. The offenders who associate with this pathway offend at specific times and often substitute a child in place of an adult for their actions. Offenders make an inappropriate choice of a sexual partner because of their insecure attachment which prevents them from forming deeper relationships with adults. This inability enables the offenders to substitute an adult with a child and encourages them to develop adult like relationships with children. The second pathway that leads to a sexual offence is deviant sexual scripts. It originates from the pigmented cells of the choroid of the eye, it is not like other tumors that starts in other parts of the body and then spreads to the eye. Choroidal melanoma is malignant; it can metastasize and eventually spread to other parts of the body. In COMS (The Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study) states that choroidal melanoma initially appearing as a small freckle beneath the retina, choroidal melanoma can grow in height and diameter, and may eventually spread to other organs of the body, causing death. Since choroidal melanoma is an intraocular tumor, and therefore usually not seen, patients with this disease often do not recognize the presence of this tumor until it grows to a size such that it decreases vision either by obstruction , retinal detachment, bleeding or other complications. Pain usually does not occur except with large tumors. • 16. Social Issues On Abortion Abortion is a current social problem that has affected the lives of many women, their friends, and their families. Numerous policies have been implemented in regards to the legality of abortion, the timeframe in which abortions can occur, required services prior to receiving an abortion, the funding sources for abortion, and requirements for facilities providing abortion services. These policies may vary from state to state, but are similar in that they attempt to dissuade a woman from aborting and often make getting an abortion more difficult. While abortion and abortion policy tends to be a fairly common topic during elections, it seems to remain a taboo topic for many people to talk about openly. Women who have chosen to abort a child often will not admit it or discuss it due to the shame, guilt, and fear of judgment. Early research suggested very few negative side effects for women following an abortion. However, current research now shows links between mental health diagnoses, substance abuse disorders, suicide, and abortion. There are many policies in place in regards to services before and during an abortion, but what about after? The Act does address these issues in that it provides for cases in excluded categories to be funded in exceptional circumstances; it remains to be seen whether this will be sufficiently flexible in practice. • 20. Analysis Of A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night Essay The film A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night , director Ana Lily Amirpour, is a mixture of genres such as the Spaghetti Western, the teenage romance, and the vampire genre. The clash of genres in this film brings out the idea of hybridity and duality, with the sounds and cinematography creating a sense of ambiguity, or the in between . The underlying mix brings out a sense of horror for the overall feel of the film as it leaves audiences with a sense of fear and realisation that not everything is as it seems. The spaghetti western genre is a part of the mix of genres which provide the film with its theme of duality and hybridity, and Amirpour has chosen to feed this genre through with the character of the girl. Typical of the spaghetti western genre, the character is nameless. Audiences do not have the privilege of finding out her name, and in the title she is referred to as A Girl . This feel of uncertainty is heightened with a sense of fear when the only information we are presented about her is when she tells Arash that she has done bad things . She is representative of the spaghetti western hero in her characteristics and actions. Untiedt, upon analysing the fictional western hero, states that the first defining characteristic of the western hero is isolation (7). Here the Girl is always seen to be walking alone, she has no companions, and lives by herself. Dualism is brought out within the character, as the western hero has a desire to explore without settling (7). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is also one of the most challenging to bring to court. Considering that rape and consensual sex can hold the exact same evidence aka DNA evidence. The book Missoula: Rape and the Justice system in a college town by John Krakauer, goes so far in depth about the rapes that some women endured while attending the University of Montana. The way the sexual assaults are described make you feel as if you lived them yourself. Other crimes such as murder are far more talked than rape. This is because it is typically a crime the targets women. Men can be raped too. But it doesn t happen near as often. Therefor, there is less media coverage. All over the globe people have different views on rape. From people stating that women who dress provocatively deserve rape. To this quote by Jessica Valenti; Now, should we treat women as independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible has nothing to do with being raped. Women don t get raped because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get raped because they weren t careful enough. Women get raped because someone raped them (p.1). Citizens are conditioned to use the drug at the slightest challenge to the cultural norms, preventing any thoughts of rebellion or contempt against the government. Moreover, the World State explicitly harvests this religious emotion through requiring the citizens to prescribe to their own self made religion, Fordism. As practitioners of Fordism, the citizens of the World State revere real world Henry Ford as their savior. Huxley utilizes satirical comparisons between Christianity and Fordism to illuminate that today s government utilizes Christianity in a similar way, to quell the masses. Huxley uses obvious parodies such as switching Our Lord for Our Ford and cutting the tops off all crosses so they resemble T s, a reference to Ford s Model T car, to bring the truth to light without explicitly stating the fact. Giant Steppes Toward Freedom by Ancestors It is difficult for many Americans today to imagine taking everything they own and moving to a new country because of religious and political freedoms. With these freedoms taken so much for granted, we rarely think of the steps taken by our ancestors to gain that liberty. When looking at attempts in history to gain freedom, it is usual to look to the founding fathers of America and their sacrifices. However, other groups of people have strived for the same thing, one such group being the people of the divided German states shortly after the Seven Year s War. Through several generations of Germans, these people moved across country, across continent, and eventually even across the ocean to America in order to gain that much desired freedom. In about 1763, the Germans were experiencing many problems. With the seven years war just behind them, much of the land had been destroyed. Crops were trampled, and properties were decimated, making the living conditions in Germany very difficult. On top of that, the war had left the political system in a state of chaos. At that time, Germany was not together as a nation but was rather divided into forty two different states. Unified Germany as we know it today did not come about until much later, in about 1872. During this time minority religions struggled in the German states. Evangelical Christians such as Baptists were not looked well upon, as well as Mennonites who were pacifists and did not believe in serving in the military. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
