Essay On The Recession
Institutions have been affected by the recession. These institutions sort new opportunities for making
profit and sustaining their activities. One type of institution that has been greatly affected is the
university institutions. These institutions have been affected, as a result, of cutbacks in terms of
funding by the state government attributed to the recession that caused economic turmoil in the
country. These cutbacks by the government affects universities countrywide resulting to them
reducing their own spending and finding alternatives that would help sustain them. Nobody State
University is one such university that has been struggling to increase its revenue (Malcolm McMinn,
2013).
There are several options such institutions are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this might not be the case because of the fact that the price elasticity of offering university
education services has a very low elasticity of 1.2. This figure means that price changes in terms of
tuition fee would have a small effect in the overall application of student in the university. Therefore,
it would be clear to say that an increase in the tuition fee would result in small change in the level of
enrollment which would not affect the overall revenue generated by the university, and this would rule
out the hypothesis stated before (Amacher Pate 2013).
According to findings in other institutions, that have adopted this option, the increases in tuition fees
have actually raised the enrollment level of students in those universities (Kaminer, 2014). One of the
characteristics exhibited by this move of increasing tuition fees is that the overall number of applicants
for positions in the university will go down. However, universities counter this situation by increasing
the number of enrollments from the few who have applied spots in the university. Therefore, the
number of students actually ends up being high, and the institution increases its overall revenue. There
would be cases where the revenue remains the same such as the number of students applicants goes
really low and so the institutions would try to offset this situation by enrolling more. The situation
could worsen if the pricing is wrong where they would charge more but

Sonnet 116 Analysis
Once upon a time there was an English writer from the 1600s who wrote a collection of 154 poems
called Shakespeare s Sonnets. The poems reflect on love, time, beauty, and death. Throughout the
sonnets, many different types of love can be deciphered. The Various ways to love can be seen in
William Shakespeare s poems, as proven by lust in Sonnet 129, the love of appearances in Sonnet 130,
true love in Sonnet 116, and the elements of nature in contrast to love in Sonnet 18, proving that there
can be many different aspects of love and how it is perceived.
The first poem, Sonnet 129, shows how one way that love can be portrayed is through lust. It
describes how one is controlled by the impulses, experiences the joy, and is then mortified by the
deed. Lust is irresistible and overwhelming and can cause emotions such as longing, blissful
fulfillment, and unavoidable guilt, as described by Shakespeare in Sonnet 129 (Fleischmann 115).
Allowing physical desire to overpower reason is the root of sin that Shakespeare addresses in the
sonnet. Even though the sonnet s speaker knows that he should withstand the temptation, it is shown
that resisting the urges may be all but impossible (Fleischmann 116). The reader can infer that lust is a
desire experienced around the world, but not many people have the will to prevail over it: Sonnet 129
depicts lust as a universal experience the world knows well (11), even as only a few are able to
overcome its temptations and resist its tumultuous highs and lows (Fleischmann 116). This shows how
widespread attraction of lust is. In addition to lust being irrepressible, once the act is fulfilled, it is
almost always regretted: As Shakespeare wrote, the world well knows that sexual intercourse without
love is often a grave disappointment and can lead to torment in a wide variety of forms. Unfortunately,
many people have to learn this truth by bitter experience (Delaney 3). The only way that a person
realizes how unpleasant lust is, is through experiencing it. The speaker makes a realization at the end
of the poem that lust is only comprehended by looking at all its facets. He suggests that lust offers
heaven while searching for it, but lust offers hell when it is

Overvolved College Students
Life of an over involved college student
30 percent of freshmen entering college last autumn reported feeling stressed (Higher Education
Research Institute at the UCLA.) A pre med college student who is over involved in the college life
may deal with a lot of challenges. Some of the challenges an over involved college student may
experience the feeling of being greatly overwhelmed, not having enough time for school work, friends
or college clubs. This type of student may not have a good balance of everything. They could become
more stressed and sleep deprived which would greatly affect their health. Being extremely stressed out
could cause them to get sick, get less sleep, or obtain unhealthy eating habits. The biggest challenge
for over involved pre med students face is stress. There are so many possible stressors they could run
into. Some examples of these stressors are worrying about their future career, not having a good life
balance, procrastinating, participating in more than they can handle, or something as simple has
tomorrow s Chemistry test. There are so many possible situations that could go wrong that they even
begin to stress out over the amount of stressing they are doing. As many people already know putting
too much stress on yourself has many major negative effects on your health. Stress could affect
someone physically, mentally, or behaviorally. A few physical effects are headaches, muscle tension,
fatigue, and lack of sleep. A few

Nature And Nature Of Frederick Douglass
Nature has always been with Frederick Douglass even on his journey throughout his life. Nature lived
amongst the other slaves as well. When being a slave at a plantation or being owned period, you
become familiar with nature; if it is picking cotton, tobacco, corn, and wheat (Douglass 22) or if it is
learning how to steer ox s or learning how to drive a boat. Nature is with everything we do; nature is
everything anyway because we are nature. We are just part of the huge spectrum of nature. Frederick
Douglass was put to the test since the day he was born; becoming a slave by birth. His life was the
caste system, no mobility whatsoever. His life is a low as the ground between his toes when the
plantation owners only gave them a certain amount of clothing and accessories. Nature was everything
and the only thing he had, as if they were best friends. This paper will give you the insight on how
nature was to Frederick Douglass and the other slaves. In the end, I can argue that nature has always
been with Frederick Douglass and other slaves and will always be with them. Frederick Douglass
became first involved with nature when his mother took the opportunity to sneak out into the night to
have her only chance at seeing her son. When the sky was pitch black and no one could see or care
any less. She took her only opportunity to walk a great distance to spend the night with her boy in her
arms. She even took punishment when arriving late at sunrise for her boy. Nature allowed

Misogyny Reoccurs In Candide
Voltaire, the pen name of François Marie Arouet, was very creative in his way of outing the pure
ridiculousness of the ideas and morals of 18th century Europeans. In the mid 1700 s, Voltaire penned
the adventures of Candide s quest to find his love, and how his innocence is corrupted along the way.
Candide possesses many main ideas, including misogyny, the exploitation of women, the unholy acts
that holy men perform, and the fatal flaws of optimism, which leads me to believe that 18th century
Europe was doomed to a fate of death, terror, and violence.
The theme of misogyny reoccurs throughout the entire story of Candide and scenes of violence and
the rape of women imply that these were common occurrences at this time. As Candide deserts ...

The old woman that nurses Candide back to health after he is whipped by the Inquisition slowly
becomes a friend of Candide s and tells him that she is the daughter of Pope Urban the Tenth and the
Princess of Palestrina. (19) Popes must solemnly promise to be celibate and Pope Urban breaks his
promise by having a child. The fact that the highest figure of authority in the Catholic faith sinned by
corrupts his vow of chastity conveys the message that nobody can be completely pure and honest. At
the inn where Candide, Cunegonde, and the old woman stay while escaping punishment for killing the
Grand Inquisitor and a Jew, all of Cunegonde s riches are stolen by the reverend Franciscan friar (17)
who stayed at the inn with them. Franciscan friars make a vow to live life with nothing and this man
ironically breaks this promise by stealing the gold and jewels from Cunegonde. This man who
promised to live in poverty sins when he falls into the trap of thinking money equals happiness and
becomes a thief. Voltaire proves that no matter who you are, sinning is inevitable; religion is shown to
be full of hypocrisy as many religious authorities in Candide go against what they claim to believe

Case Study On Robotics
Situation Analysis The main focus of the study is all about the use of syringe plunger hydraulics to
take effect on manoeuvring a robotic arm. Robotic arms are used in industrial robotics nowadays.
They are used to pick up and manipulate any object at a distance. Wherein it is the biggest challenge
we will encounter in this study. Robotics only managed to carry through their precision by being large,
expensive, and most likely to consume or use lots of energy and are wasted. Nothing beats hydraulic
propulsion. Using hydraulics allows the robotic arm to do refined and precise motions. With the
syringe plunger, it allows to apply pressure to the water to make each part of the material to function.

It is becoming an increasingly important problem of the industry, and it affects the society at large. In
particular, it aims to answer the following questions:
Research Questions
1.) How do hydraulics affect the weight of robotics?
2.) How do hydraulics conserve energy?
3.) How do hydraulics optimise the robotic arm s approach?
4.) How do hydraulics make robotics cheaper?
5.) How do hydraulics function well than the other alternatives in robotics?
Paradigm of the Study
Hypothesis Hydraulics affects the weight of robotics and making it lighter. It conserves energy and
that water can be found anywhere rather than using any other energy without efficiency. It makes it
easier to optimise its trajectory and it has controlled speed to operate it, wherein electricity can t much
have the motion to operate it precisely. Its usage makes it cheaper and that it uses water to produce
energy which is easy to do. It functions well than other alternatives and nothing beats hydraulic
propulsion because this type of force is used in many applications we use every

Being The Son Of A Teacher Is Hard
Being the son of a teacher is hard. There are a lot of things that come with it that makes life more
challenging. From the start, having my Mom be a teacher was strange. Imagine going to school and
calling your teacher Mom and going home and calling your mom, Mrs. Naber . Yes, that was me, one
very confused kindergartener.
The other tough thing about having my Mom work so closely with all of my current teachers was they
talked. They talked about everything. I could not get in trouble, there was no hiding the notes, she
already knew. I was a good kid in school; I never seriously got into trouble in fear of this.

Senior Year
It was beautiful. I had a few weeks left of school, then I was off to summer before leaving home to go
to college at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. I rolled into school at 7:45 rocking out to Club
Mix 96 cassette tape in my 1999 Nissan Sentra. I was instructed to park my car behind the school near
the track and football field. This was a customary event once a year during the rummage sale days, the
students cleared out and crated a maze of cars from the windows of the cafeteria. Walking into school,
I had no idea about what events would eventually transpire. I went through classes, talked to friends,
and enjoyed being a senior in a school that all the seniors thought they ran . After school, I was out on
the baseball field playing a rival team. It was a fantastic game and more importantly a win. A
celebration and shower brought my best two friends and I out to our cars with nobody else around.
Then it hit me.
I turned to my friends Sam and Jacob and I told them that I felt good. I felt like celebrating, we all
played well, we all got a win, and we were in a unique position. It was perfect and it was so simple. I
ll never forget what I said.
We should take a victory lap, I mean there is nobody here and they are building a new track anyways.
Plus, this thing is literally concrete. I said.
What? A victory lap, like in our cars? They responded.
In a few short moments, the parade of old crappy high school cars began

Pathophysiology Of Postoprative Hypovolaemia And The Body...
1. Pathophysiology of Postoprative Hypovolaemia and the body s compensation mechanisms:
Presented with the post operative assessments of Mr. George Jensen who suffered from an open
fracture of his right tibia and fibula and underwent an Open Reduction and External Fixation
procedure, a nurse can tell that he is experiencing post operative Hypovolaemia.
Hypovolaemia pertains to an abnormal loss of blood volume and body fluid. It is a life threatening
condition brought on by low blood venous return to the heart that results to decreased Cardiac Output
(CO), leading to a lack of adequate circulatory filling, reduced organ blood flow and organ damage
(Brown Edwards, 2013; Craft, Gordon, Huether, Tiziani, McCance, Brashers, 2013; Plenderleith,
2007).
There are numerous factors responsible for the onset of hypovolaemia. But among the most common
causes and relevant to Mr. Jensen are:
o Haemorrhage from trauma, or surgery. It is the common cause of body fluid loss, and it may be
internal or external. In the limbs, a considerable amount of blood can be lost to a fractured tibia (Page
McKinney, 2012, p.157).
A patient who undergoes surgery such as an open reduction external fixation fracture under general
anaesthesia can futher have an estimated blood loss in volume of 200cc, as suggested by Mendelson,
Kates, Pacos, Clark, Wu (2011, p. 3).
o Dehydration that can be a result not just of poor fluid intake but also of badly managed Type 2
Diabetes Mellitus. Blood

Mayan And Aztec Clothing Research Paper
The Mayans Aztecs
Even though the Mayan s Aztec s used different material to make their clothes because they did not
have all the resources we have now. When thinking about how the Mayan s and the Aztecs made their
clothes you would think they made them out of like grass and leaves that s what I had thought in my
head. The way they make their clothes is interesting.
The way the Mayan s made their clothes was they used the fabrics, like cotton and hemp and other
fibers. They even dyed the fibers and then woven into brilliant designs, patterns included geometric,
floral, animal and human designs, also the Mayans made clothes to drape not to fit they loved the wear

Their clothes were made from cotton (which was imported), or ayate fiber made from the Maguey
Cactus. The women would weave then fibers into clothing, a task girl were taught as young teenagers,
because of their vast trading network the Aztecs were able to make use of a beautiful array of dyes,
creating the brilliant colors still seen in Mexico today. When you think about the Ancient Aztec
clothing of the common people and the slaves sometimes covered very little of their bodies. Slaves
would wear a simple loincloth; the loincloth was also wearing by the common people was made from
a long strip of cloth tied in the front. If the men had a little more power than most they would have
embroidered or have fringes on the two ends, they would also wear cloaks made from triangular cloth
know as a timatli or tilma, it could also be used as an apron to carry things or worn as a cloak. Now
we can talk about the women they would wear skirts and sleeveless bloused or short sleeved shirt.
Again, they are very simple with some decoration as the social class became more prestigious. The
upper class is a different story. The other towns people could wear other things depending on what you
are like a merchant, the military or common people. One more thing about the Aztec clothing was a
huge part of the economy. You could buy a slave if you had enough material, people brought
thousands of clothing item as tribute to the powerful empire. Clothing both united people and
separated them much like the ones today. The color scheme for the Aztec is just a little different than
the Mayan s. Let s get started red, yellow and green: east , Blue: south, white: west, black;

CanGo Online Gaming Industry
The largest factor which must be examined in regards to CanGo entering the online gaming industry is
the probability of success, which is measured by profit. Upper management must consider many
financial factors that will be imperative to the overall success of the company. In order to implement
the new sector into the company auspiciously, expenses in relation to human resources, supply and
logistics management, marketing, and the procurement and deployment of new and existing
technology/methodologies must be examined. The company has currently projected an increase of
500% in net sales which will cause an increase in expenses to accommodate the resources required to
handle the upsurge of demand. CanGo will need to hire new personnel in order to maintain order
demand and will also require new technical staff members in order to implement and maintain the
required hardware and software necessary for on line gaming. CanGO must also account for storage
and trucks required for shipping. One of the most important and potentially largest expenses CanGo
must consider is marketing in regards to the on line gaming industry. Examining all previously
mentioned items will assist in the assessment of profitability for CanGo within the on line gaming
industry. Recommendation: Many new businesses and projects fail due to not properly completing a

Pt1420 Unit 6 Game Analysis
Here s how it works: For each simulated contest, the machine randomly chooses one of the 33 years
worth of historical results since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. It then applies both
your strategy and the computer s to all 63 games based on the initial seeding. (Given that a 1 seed has
never lost to a 16 seed in 132 matchups, we comp that one to both you and the computer. So you re
actually only guessing 59 games.) It then uses the random number generator in your browser to
rapidly evaluate each bracket s score using a default scoring system, which doubles the points
awarded for correct picks each subsequent round, usually from 1 point for an accurate first round pick
to 32 for getting the final game right. (ESPN awards 10 points ... Show more content on

Given that a loss will only cost you the entrance fee regardless of the size of your pool, it s better to
play against more people. As for strategy, the best move is generally to fall back on the seeding.
Whether by luck or design, the Selection Committee has a good track record of awarding higher seeds
to better teams, even when they snub teams that probably deserved a berth.
I believe this is a hopeful lesson. It s easy to feel defeated when playing against people who have paid
a great deal more attention to college basketball. But single elimination tournaments are cruel. Every
unexpected upset can upend even the wisest player s entire bracket, as you may have gathered from
the banshee s wail of the defeated on Facebook as the tournament progresses. Given that your
potential points double each round, you can sneak in a win by hanging on to a few teams that go deep,
even if your first round looked like a disaster.
Yes, that is my advice: Be boring and choose the obvious answers. It may not work this year, or next
year, but those are the best odds that you ll come out ahead in the long run, even if your outlook is
decades, not centuries. That s the bounty of a high stakes tournament played by unpredictable

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Deviance
Deviance is generally a phenomenon of deviating from the existing social norms. It basically depends
on the society and the culture or group they belong to and not on the act that they perform. Therefore,
it is relative and not person or individual specific. According to sociologists, a specific act to which
people do not abide by and react in an opposite manner is referred to as a deviant act. Thus, it can be
said that all individuals who do not obey the rules and regulations are deviants. According to a
sociologist, Erving Goffman, a person s status is defined by one specific quality or attribute which

In order to achieve certain goals, people sometimes tend to be deviants because access to easier means
is all it takes to decide for a person to become a deviant or not. According to Emile Durkheim,
deviance brings in social order and unity. Hence, deviance is functional. It helps decide and clear the
boundaries of a society and norms as to how people should think and act. One major advantage of
deviance is that it helps in bringing a chance in the society which can be a positive one. if majority of
the people follow the same deviant act, it becomes a permanent change with new behaviors and
conduct in a society. As explained by the Strain theory which was given by Robert Merton, there are
cases when the goal of the individuals is a moral and cultural goal but the means to achieve the
specific goal is immoral or is not legitimate. Basically there is a strain that people experience when
they wish to achieve a certain goal which can only be accomplished by unfair means. The team for
this kind of a strain used by Merton is anomie which was coined by Durkheim. To achieve a certain
cultural goal, there are five kinds of reactions. One is by directly following all the rules and
regulations and achieving the goals. The rest of them are the deviant means including innovative
ideas, ritualism which means sacrificing the goals in order to maintain the proper code of

Illustrations of Poly-Pharmacology in Dietary...
One of the most explicit illustrations of poly pharmacology in dietary phyto nutrient is Curcumin. One
can consider curcumin as an ideal candidate for preventive therapeutic action in cancer as a sole agent
or in combination with traditional therapies, because of its ability to target multiple number of
signaling pathways relevant to cancer [168,169]. One of the approaches for identification of
polypharmacological chemical compounds is virtual screening of all potential molecular targets of
interest for interactions with these chemicals [171]. Another approach to enable virtual screening of
the receptorome attempts to generate a compendium of computational predictors (e.g., QSAR models
or structure based models). Consequently, these constructed models can be employed in the virtual
screening of chemical libraries for recognition of novel ligands for a panel of molecular targets and to
predict polypharmacological matrices for these all chemicals incorporated in the chemical database.
Finally, a database of models can be built by consolidation of these QSAR or structure based models.
This database can be employed in parallel virtual screening of chemical compounds to indentify the
interacting partners from all the pre characterized members of the receptor ome. Past research studies
have successfully demonstrated that the generation of QSAR models and subsequent model based
virtual screening of chemical libraries has led to the identification of chemically diverse

La Mirabia Leadership
Coming from a small city where everyone knows almost everyone, I would like to excel in my ways
so everyone in the city will recognize it. La Mirada California, a place where I was born and raised my
whole life. I am currently a senior in high school. I attend La Mirada High School where I have been
able to maintain at least a 3.8 grade point average. Not a 4.0 because I had gotten low grades my
freshman year due to struggles at home. Although I had gotten low grades, I was able to over come
that failure and maintain a 4.0grade point average the rest of high school. I have taken honors classes
or college prep classes my whole life and now I know that I can handle challenges and I am not afraid
of them. I am not the oldest of my siblings, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are leaders and followers, and I happen to be a leader in almost everything. My friends at school
will also consider me a leader because of all the group projects I had to be a leader of because they
were not responsible enough to take the leader role. I consider myself a leader because I am very
organized and responsible. My grades in school are superb, as for my friends, not so good. This shows
that I am a leader as I chose not to follow my not so productive friends. I played football for the
majority of my life. My coaches have taught me to be a better man for the future. Discipline was one
of the many characteristics that I have acquired over time. Discipline goes back to responsibility and
leadership. With out the discipline, I would not set standards to meet, and if I did not meet those
standards, I would not be considered a leader, responsible and everything else that can be placed under
the same category. Trust worthy is my main characteristic that I have. When I was younger, I went
through a tough time with my parents and their divorce. I needed someone to talk to and no one was
there for me. I told myself that even though I have no one to trust or talk to, I would be trustworthy to
someone else who needs to get things off of their chest. Till this day, I have kept my word and have
been trustworthy towards other people. Many of these characteristics are tough to get and keep. I have
done a swell job of keeping them. It would be a please to bring these characteristics to your

National Curriculum Paper
Introduction:
Undeniably, the implementation of a national curriculum will have a significant impact on the
Australian education system. Therefore, my understanding of this educational reform and the
contention arising from this national curriculum will form the basis of this paper. The paper will also
discuss how I will navigate the implemented policies while remaining authentic in my teaching values
and practices. Moreover, this will be done by establishing my understanding of the curriculum in the
educational context before responding to two literary quotes.
In the broadest sense curriculum refers to all courses offered at a school; however, this definition is

The mathematics curriculum is organised around the interaction of three content strands and four
proficiency strands. The content strands form framework of the intended curriculum (number and
algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability). Whereas the proficiency strands
form the basis of the enacted curriculum (understanding, fluency, problem solving and reasoning). My
intent is to create an effective learning environment where students develop solid mathematical
content knowledge and skills that are relevant to their specific needs. I believe mathematical
discussion is paramount in the development of understanding and will actively encourage open

Visual Evaluation and Comparison: Analyzing the Advertisement Industry
The main goal of advertising is to motivate or persuade people to buy a particular product or service,
and among the media used to accomplish this are; radio, television, newspapers, and most importantly,
magazines. In order for advertisements to successfully portray a product, they must be directed to the
appropriate intended audience. In Rolling Stone and YM magazine, there are two advertisements that
display a very attractive person gazing and posing to the viewer. In advertising, we are bombarded by
images that have become standard in defining beauty and what is acceptable, and we often don t
realize it. In both of the ads, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second ad, YM has offered its own mobile service an extreme makeover. The girl portrayed in
this is an animated girl holding a red ymobile phone on the bottom of the ad. There are graphics on the
bottom of the ad surrounding the red cellular phone that display some of the options that the consumer
can purchase such as: college graphics, accessories, screen savers, games, etc. All throughout the rest
of the ad is text with some graphics and a very colorful background. The text is simply listing the new
improvements to the ymobile device. It lists the new ring tones, how easy the improvements are, the
new content, and much more. The logo is the bullet for each one of these topics on the list to remind
the viewer exactly what and whose product they are buying. On the right side of the ad, there is a list
of all of the songs that the viewer can download and have as their ring tone. The background is very
colorful, easily targeting a young teenage girl who probably is in the middle to upper middle class
who could afford all of these accessories to go along with their phone. The background color is a
mixture of dark and light purple with a light green blotted on random places. This almost makes the ad
look like a cartoon in a way and not trying to sell something.
Advertising has come to conform to a strict set of codes about beauty. A

New York Yankees Oligopoly
The New York Yankees is the baseball team that has won 18 division titles, 40 AL pennants, and 27
World Series championships, all of which are Major League Baseball records. It makes great records
and great success each year. And the impact it has on the global economy is huge.
Major League Baseball is an oligopoly dominated by a few firms. The baseball teams including the
New York Yankees operate together and play against other leagues. The baseball players are in the
labor market since firms demand their high baseball skills. Firms demand the players that they are
willing and able to hire at different wages and the players sell their labor at different wages. Because
the Major League Baseball is an oligopoly, players were victims of a ... Show more content on

Because of the occurrence of free agents, the average contract doubled from $51,000 to $100,000 and
the regular season winning percentage of the New York Yankees increased as the payroll increased.
From 1990 to 1991, the firms broke from the cartel and the average Major League Baseball salary rose
from $578,930 to $891,188. And from 1995 to 2000, the New York Yankees was one of the most
dominant teams, remaining competitive. Average salary had a 5200% increase from 1975 to 2002 and
revenues increased from $6.4 million to $119 million during this period. Also, the baseball teams
started to use media as advertising to attract more fans to come to watch their games. They saw
advertisement as an income. And the franchises have increased revenues by using new stadiums and
increasing prices for premium seating since 2002. New stadiums have new clubs, restaurants, stores
and museums that can be served as new sources of revenues. They made profits by selling
merchandise. Also, new stadiums improved the attendance of fans. Since the stadiums are most on the
metropolitan areas, the fans from suburbs spend lots of expenditures, money and time, to watch
baseball games. They give up the opportunities to do something else rather than watching games.
Every year, the Major League Baseball receives more than $2 billion from advertising, sales of tickets
and merchandise. And the New York Yankees got more revenues than the combinations of the other

Eugene Bleuler
ered. Jean Marc Gaspard wanted to teach this boy how to function in society, even though Victor had
no experience in the real world. The approaches he used to train Victor impact this area of study, even
today. Eugene Bleuler furthered this field when he discovered patients that were seen to be very self
centered. These children had been labeled as schizophrenic, but he labeled as autistic because they
were people that lived in a different type of reality. Also, they didn t really fit the characteristics of
schizophrenia. 1943 saw further study of this condition, when Leo Kanner researched 11 children. He
noticed they had many common traits such as difficulty with social situations, need for consistency
and were easily over stimulated.

Biological Approach To Gender Development
The biological approach towards gender development suggests that there is no distinction between sex
and gender. This approach believes that biological sex creates gendered behaviour. It also suggests that
gender is determined by biological factors, such as hormones. Psychologists such as Gorski et al
(1985) and Young et al (1964) provide evidence of how hormones, such as testosterone, create
gendered behaviour thus supporting the biological approach to gender development. On the other
hand, other theories such as the social approach believe that gendered behaviour is learnt from the
environment through the process of observational learning. Studies such as Fagot (1978) show exactly
how children learn via reinforcement and punishments thus opposing the biological approach.
Males and females both have the same hormones but the levels of these individual hormones differ
between the sexes. For example, males have a higher level of testosterone a hormone which has been
highly linked to behaviours such as aggressiveness. Psychologists can test how these hormones affect
individuals by changing the levels of hormones present in the sexes.
A study conducted by Gorski et al (1985) found evidence of how hormones create gendered
behaviour. In their study, they injected female rats with testosterone for a period prior to birth. After
these rats were born, their appearance and behaviour was compared with a control group of females
whose testosterone levels were normal in order

Qfd3 Case Study
Qfd1 (labeled as Qbws1 on the chart) was found at River Mile 189.5 preserved between a Black
Ledge lava dam remnant and a basalt flow. The base of the deposit was 110m above the current river
level while the top of the deposit was 170 m above the current river level. The clasts were 92% basalt
and had identical Rare earth element (REE) patterns, which indicated that they came from the same
lava dam source. The clasts ranged in size from hyaloclastite ash and lapilli to a 6 m diameter
limestone boulder. Based on age and pattern of REE, Qfd1 deposits seemed to have correlated with
the dam produced by the Upper Prospect lava flows (Fenton et al. (2004)). While the Toroweap Dam
correlated in age to Qfd1, its REE pattern did not align in a parallel ... Show more content on

It was composed primarily of gravels, basalts, and glass. The basalts and glasses in Qfd3 did not seem
to be related based on the La/Sm ratio while their Gd/Lu ratios were somewhat similar. Qfd3 deposits
were complicating in correlating to a specific dam to the fact that the presence of extralocal river
gravels and quartz in the lower parts of the deposition could indicate two separate flooding events.
One correlation is with the Whitmore Cascade because its La/Sm and Gd/Lu was similar to the REE
pattern of Qfd3 s boulders. Another idea is that the failure of the Toroweap Dam could have emplaced
the existing outburst flood deposit thus explaining the presence of extralocal gravels. The hypothesis
with the most consistent result is that the failure of a lava dam near the Whitmore Cascade reworked
the previous Qfd3 deposit and deposited boulders and cobbles from the Whitmore Cascade on top of
Qfd3 glasses. This hypothesis is consistent with the REE chart thus this explanation is seen as a strong
candidate. Qfd4 deposits overlie Massive Diabase Dam remnants, Whitmore Cascade flow remnants,
and a lava dam remnant between River Miles 189.5 and

about an architectural design exhibit. I chose to write about the architectural design exhibit for this

Integrated Project Delivery ( Ipd )
According to the Associated General Contractors of New York State, The construction industry is the
second largest employer in the US, second only to all government employees including the armed
forces. (Associated General Contractors of New York State, 2014). This is a staggering number.
However, in spite of this, the industry has suffered a decline in labor productivity beginning in the
1960 s that has continued its trend since that time and seems to be in no hurry to reverse its course
(Teicholz, 2013). This paper will explore how Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) can be implemented
by the construction industry to solve this issue by greatly decreasing (or even in some cases,
eliminating) low productivity and waste, time/cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Low productivity and waste are the first things to go, because efficiency and the enhanced level of
project knowledge allows for owners to gain early cost insight as well as to focus on realizing their
vision more fully in the design process, while contractors and builders can focus on project quality and
ideal financial performance, and architects are allowed more time for exploration of the project design
without having to worry about rushed documentation time in addition to being able to improve budget
management and cost control (Cohen, 2010; American Institute of Architects, 2011). All of these
benefits lend themselves to reducing, if not eliminating, any risk that low productivity and waste will
be an issue throughout the duration of the project. The level of mutual trust and respect that is
encouraged and facilitated allows each discipline to focus on their own assigned tasks and
responsibilities while remaining confident that their colleagues will contribute just as much as they
themselves plan to do. Rather than wasting materials, money, and labor while waiting during the
painstaking process of Requests for Information (RFI) or Change Orders to be submitted and
approved, each individual discipline can

The Effects Of Inequality On The Everyday Lives Of The...
Marriage and Family
Analytical Response
How does inequality pay out in the everyday lives of the children/families in Lareau s book? How is
inequality reproduced? Give specific examples from the book
There are various forms of inequalities dealing with children and/or families, so much so that time
would not permit them to be discussed. First, there are basically three groups in society: Upper class,
Middle (working) class, and the Poor. In her study Lareau broke these groups into sub groups mainly
either black or white. According to www.study.com Social inequality is the existence of unequal
opportunities and rewards), or different social positions or statuses within a group or society. Based on
www.thwink.org. More than anything else, an analytical approach is the use of an appropriate process
to break a problem down into the smaller pieces necessary to solve it. Each piece becomes a smaller
and easier problem to solve.
In this response we will be viewing several different inequalities on different levels and different
social groups. Lareau s study groups of different races and ethnicities. The names will not be
mentioned just the race and class. The group study is a typical group study but not a definite one for
all in the mentioned social groups. In viewing the activities of a child from an upper class group and
with a few minor different approaches also the middle class group, these children (some time black)
may have a two parent household, living in the

  • 2. Essay On The Recession Institutions have been affected by the recession. These institutions sort new opportunities for making profit and sustaining their activities. One type of institution that has been greatly affected is the university institutions. These institutions have been affected, as a result, of cutbacks in terms of funding by the state government attributed to the recession that caused economic turmoil in the country. These cutbacks by the government affects universities countrywide resulting to them reducing their own spending and finding alternatives that would help sustain them. Nobody State University is one such university that has been struggling to increase its revenue (Malcolm McMinn, 2013). There are several options such institutions are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this might not be the case because of the fact that the price elasticity of offering university education services has a very low elasticity of 1.2. This figure means that price changes in terms of tuition fee would have a small effect in the overall application of student in the university. Therefore, it would be clear to say that an increase in the tuition fee would result in small change in the level of enrollment which would not affect the overall revenue generated by the university, and this would rule out the hypothesis stated before (Amacher Pate 2013). According to findings in other institutions, that have adopted this option, the increases in tuition fees have actually raised the enrollment level of students in those universities (Kaminer, 2014). One of the characteristics exhibited by this move of increasing tuition fees is that the overall number of applicants for positions in the university will go down. However, universities counter this situation by increasing the number of enrollments from the few who have applied spots in the university. Therefore, the number of students actually ends up being high, and the institution increases its overall revenue. There would be cases where the revenue remains the same such as the number of students applicants goes really low and so the institutions would try to offset this situation by enrolling more. The situation could worsen if the pricing is wrong where they would charge more but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Sonnet 116 Analysis Once upon a time there was an English writer from the 1600s who wrote a collection of 154 poems called Shakespeare s Sonnets. The poems reflect on love, time, beauty, and death. Throughout the sonnets, many different types of love can be deciphered. The Various ways to love can be seen in William Shakespeare s poems, as proven by lust in Sonnet 129, the love of appearances in Sonnet 130, true love in Sonnet 116, and the elements of nature in contrast to love in Sonnet 18, proving that there can be many different aspects of love and how it is perceived. The first poem, Sonnet 129, shows how one way that love can be portrayed is through lust. It describes how one is controlled by the impulses, experiences the joy, and is then mortified by the deed. Lust is irresistible and overwhelming and can cause emotions such as longing, blissful fulfillment, and unavoidable guilt, as described by Shakespeare in Sonnet 129 (Fleischmann 115). Allowing physical desire to overpower reason is the root of sin that Shakespeare addresses in the sonnet. Even though the sonnet s speaker knows that he should withstand the temptation, it is shown that resisting the urges may be all but impossible (Fleischmann 116). The reader can infer that lust is a desire experienced around the world, but not many people have the will to prevail over it: Sonnet 129 depicts lust as a universal experience the world knows well (11), even as only a few are able to overcome its temptations and resist its tumultuous highs and lows (Fleischmann 116). This shows how widespread attraction of lust is. In addition to lust being irrepressible, once the act is fulfilled, it is almost always regretted: As Shakespeare wrote, the world well knows that sexual intercourse without love is often a grave disappointment and can lead to torment in a wide variety of forms. Unfortunately, many people have to learn this truth by bitter experience (Delaney 3). The only way that a person realizes how unpleasant lust is, is through experiencing it. The speaker makes a realization at the end of the poem that lust is only comprehended by looking at all its facets. He suggests that lust offers heaven while searching for it, but lust offers hell when it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A pre med college student who is over involved in the college life may deal with a lot of challenges. Some of the challenges an over involved college student may experience the feeling of being greatly overwhelmed, not having enough time for school work, friends or college clubs. • 5. Nature And Nature Of Frederick Douglass Nature has always been with Frederick Douglass even on his journey throughout his life. Nature lived amongst the other slaves as well. When being a slave at a plantation or being owned period, you become familiar with nature; if it is picking cotton, tobacco, corn, and wheat (Douglass 22) or if it is learning how to steer ox s or learning how to drive a boat. Nature is with everything we do; nature is everything anyway because we are nature. We are just part of the huge spectrum of nature. Frederick Douglass was put to the test since the day he was born; becoming a slave by birth. His life was the caste system, no mobility whatsoever. His life is a low as the ground between his toes when the plantation owners only gave them a certain amount of clothing and accessories. Nature was everything and the only thing he had, as if they were best friends. This paper will give you the insight on how nature was to Frederick Douglass and the other slaves. In the end, I can argue that nature has always been with Frederick Douglass and other slaves and will always be with them. Frederick Douglass became first involved with nature when his mother took the opportunity to sneak out into the night to have her only chance at seeing her son. When the sky was pitch black and no one could see or care any less. She took her only opportunity to walk a great distance to spend the night with her boy in her arms. She even took punishment when arriving late at sunrise for her boy. Nature allowed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Misogyny Reoccurs In Candide Voltaire, the pen name of François Marie Arouet, was very creative in his way of outing the pure ridiculousness of the ideas and morals of 18th century Europeans. In the mid 1700 s, Voltaire penned the adventures of Candide s quest to find his love, and how his innocence is corrupted along the way. Candide possesses many main ideas, including misogyny, the exploitation of women, the unholy acts that holy men perform, and the fatal flaws of optimism, which leads me to believe that 18th century Europe was doomed to a fate of death, terror, and violence. The theme of misogyny reoccurs throughout the entire story of Candide and scenes of violence and the rape of women imply that these were common occurrences at this time. As Candide deserts ... Pathophysiology of Postoprative Hypovolaemia and the body s compensation mechanisms: Presented with the post operative assessments of Mr. George Jensen who suffered from an open fracture of his right tibia and fibula and underwent an Open Reduction and External Fixation procedure, a nurse can tell that he is experiencing post operative Hypovolaemia. Hypovolaemia pertains to an abnormal loss of blood volume and body fluid. It is a life threatening condition brought on by low blood venous return to the heart that results to decreased Cardiac Output (CO), leading to a lack of adequate circulatory filling, reduced organ blood flow and organ damage (Brown Edwards, 2013; Craft, Gordon, Huether, Tiziani, McCance, Brashers, 2013; Plenderleith, 2007). There are numerous factors responsible for the onset of hypovolaemia. But among the most common causes and relevant to Mr. Jensen are: o Haemorrhage from trauma, or surgery. It is the common cause of body fluid loss, and it may be internal or external. In the limbs, a considerable amount of blood can be lost to a fractured tibia (Page McKinney, 2012, p.157). A patient who undergoes surgery such as an open reduction external fixation fracture under general anaesthesia can futher have an estimated blood loss in volume of 200cc, as suggested by Mendelson, Kates, Pacos, Clark, Wu (2011, p. 3). o Dehydration that can be a result not just of poor fluid intake but also of badly managed Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. • 20. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Deviance Deviance is generally a phenomenon of deviating from the existing social norms. It basically depends on the society and the culture or group they belong to and not on the act that they perform. Therefore, it is relative and not person or individual specific. According to sociologists, a specific act to which people do not abide by and react in an opposite manner is referred to as a deviant act. Thus, it can be said that all individuals who do not obey the rules and regulations are deviants. According to a sociologist, Erving Goffman, a person s status is defined by one specific quality or attribute which becomes his master status and all other characteristics of the person are ignored. This one quality that becomes his master status is referred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to achieve certain goals, people sometimes tend to be deviants because access to easier means is all it takes to decide for a person to become a deviant or not. According to Emile Durkheim, deviance brings in social order and unity. Hence, deviance is functional. It helps decide and clear the boundaries of a society and norms as to how people should think and act. One major advantage of deviance is that it helps in bringing a chance in the society which can be a positive one. if majority of the people follow the same deviant act, it becomes a permanent change with new behaviors and conduct in a society. As explained by the Strain theory which was given by Robert Merton, there are cases when the goal of the individuals is a moral and cultural goal but the means to achieve the specific goal is immoral or is not legitimate. Basically there is a strain that people experience when they wish to achieve a certain goal which can only be accomplished by unfair means. The team for this kind of a strain used by Merton is anomie which was coined by Durkheim. To achieve a certain cultural goal, there are five kinds of reactions. One is by directly following all the rules and regulations and achieving the goals. The rest of them are the deviant means including innovative ideas, ritualism which means sacrificing the goals in order to maintain the proper code of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Illustrations of Poly-Pharmacology in Dietary... One of the most explicit illustrations of poly pharmacology in dietary phyto nutrient is Curcumin. One can consider curcumin as an ideal candidate for preventive therapeutic action in cancer as a sole agent or in combination with traditional therapies, because of its ability to target multiple number of signaling pathways relevant to cancer [168,169]. One of the approaches for identification of polypharmacological chemical compounds is virtual screening of all potential molecular targets of interest for interactions with these chemicals [171]. Another approach to enable virtual screening of the receptorome attempts to generate a compendium of computational predictors (e.g., QSAR models or structure based models). Consequently, these constructed models can be employed in the virtual screening of chemical libraries for recognition of novel ligands for a panel of molecular targets and to predict polypharmacological matrices for these all chemicals incorporated in the chemical database. Finally, a database of models can be built by consolidation of these QSAR or structure based models. This database can be employed in parallel virtual screening of chemical compounds to indentify the interacting partners from all the pre characterized members of the receptor ome. Past research studies have successfully demonstrated that the generation of QSAR models and subsequent model based virtual screening of chemical libraries has led to the identification of chemically diverse ... • 27. Biological Approach To Gender Development The biological approach towards gender development suggests that there is no distinction between sex and gender. This approach believes that biological sex creates gendered behaviour. It also suggests that gender is determined by biological factors, such as hormones. Psychologists such as Gorski et al (1985) and Young et al (1964) provide evidence of how hormones, such as testosterone, create gendered behaviour thus supporting the biological approach to gender development. On the other hand, other theories such as the social approach believe that gendered behaviour is learnt from the environment through the process of observational learning. Studies such as Fagot (1978) show exactly how children learn via reinforcement and punishments thus opposing the biological approach. Males and females both have the same hormones but the levels of these individual hormones differ between the sexes. For example, males have a higher level of testosterone a hormone which has been highly linked to behaviours such as aggressiveness. Psychologists can test how these hormones affect individuals by changing the levels of hormones present in the sexes. A study conducted by Gorski et al (1985) found evidence of how hormones create gendered behaviour. In their study, they injected female rats with testosterone for a period prior to birth. After these rats were born, their appearance and behaviour was compared with a control group of females whose testosterone levels were normal in order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Qfd3 Case Study Qfd1 (labeled as Qbws1 on the chart) was found at River Mile 189.5 preserved between a Black Ledge lava dam remnant and a basalt flow. The base of the deposit was 110m above the current river level while the top of the deposit was 170 m above the current river level. The clasts were 92% basalt and had identical Rare earth element (REE) patterns, which indicated that they came from the same lava dam source. The clasts ranged in size from hyaloclastite ash and lapilli to a 6 m diameter limestone boulder. Based on age and pattern of REE, Qfd1 deposits seemed to have correlated with the dam produced by the Upper Prospect lava flows (Fenton et al. (2004)). While the Toroweap Dam correlated in age to Qfd1, its REE pattern did not align in a parallel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was composed primarily of gravels, basalts, and glass. The basalts and glasses in Qfd3 did not seem to be related based on the La/Sm ratio while their Gd/Lu ratios were somewhat similar. Qfd3 deposits were complicating in correlating to a specific dam to the fact that the presence of extralocal river gravels and quartz in the lower parts of the deposition could indicate two separate flooding events. One correlation is with the Whitmore Cascade because its La/Sm and Gd/Lu was similar to the REE pattern of Qfd3 s boulders. Another idea is that the failure of the Toroweap Dam could have emplaced the existing outburst flood deposit thus explaining the presence of extralocal gravels. The hypothesis with the most consistent result is that the failure of a lava dam near the Whitmore Cascade reworked the previous Qfd3 deposit and deposited boulders and cobbles from the Whitmore Cascade on top of Qfd3 glasses. This hypothesis is consistent with the REE chart thus this explanation is seen as a strong candidate. However, in spite of this, the industry has suffered a decline in labor productivity beginning in the 1960 s that has continued its trend since that time and seems to be in no hurry to reverse its course (Teicholz, 2013). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Low productivity and waste are the first things to go, because efficiency and the enhanced level of project knowledge allows for owners to gain early cost insight as well as to focus on realizing their vision more fully in the design process, while contractors and builders can focus on project quality and ideal financial performance, and architects are allowed more time for exploration of the project design without having to worry about rushed documentation time in addition to being able to improve budget management and cost control (Cohen, 2010; American Institute of Architects, 2011). All of these benefits lend themselves to reducing, if not eliminating, any risk that low productivity and waste will be an issue throughout the duration of the project. The level of mutual trust and respect that is encouraged and facilitated allows each discipline to focus on their own assigned tasks and responsibilities while remaining confident that their colleagues will contribute just as much as they themselves plan to do. How is inequality reproduced? Give specific examples from the book There are various forms of inequalities dealing with children and/or families, so much so that time would not permit them to be discussed. First, there are basically three groups in society: Upper class, Middle (working) class, and the Poor. In her study Lareau broke these groups into sub groups mainly either black or white.
