Here are some tips to help you
develop effective listening skills.
 Face the speaker and maintain eye
contact.
 Be attentive, but relaxed.
 Keep an open mind.
 Listen to the words and try to picture
what the speaker is saying.
 Wait for the speaker to pause to ask
clarifying questions.
 Try to feel what the speaker is feeling
 Give the speaker regular feedback

  • 5. Here are some tips to help you develop effective listening skills.  Face the speaker and maintain eye contact.  Be attentive, but relaxed.  Keep an open mind.  Listen to the words and try to picture what the speaker is saying.
  • 6.  Wait for the speaker to pause to ask clarifying questions.  Try to feel what the speaker is feeling  Give the speaker regular feedback
  • 7. STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE LISTENING:  Decide what our Goals are for the Conversation.  Be Aware of our Opinions When to Speak and When to listen.  Planning What to say When we Speak- Focusing and Clarifying.  Engage your sense.
