Building material is any material which is used for construction purposes. Many naturally occurring substances, such as clay, rocks, sand, and wood, even twigs and leaves, have been used to construct buildings. Apart from naturally occurring materials, many man-made products are in use, some more and some less synthetic. The manufacture of building materials is an established industry in many countries and the use of these materials is typically segmented into specific specialty trades, such as carpentry, insulation, plumbing, and roofing work. They provide the make-up of habitats and structures including homes. Construction industry is the largest consumer of material resources, of both the natural ones (like stone, sand, clay, lime) and the processed and synthetic ones. Each material which is used in the construction, in one form or the other is known as construction material (engineering material). No material, existing in the universe is useless; every material has its own field of application. Stone, bricks, timber, steel, lime, cement, metals etc. are some commonly used materials by civil engineers.
Market outlook
The global market for construction materials is projected to exceed US $ 1 trillion by 2020, driven by improving world economic outlook and recovering construction activity in residential, commercial and infrastructure sector. India's construction industry will continue to expand over the forecast period (2016โ2020), with investments in residential, infrastructure and energy projects continuing to drive growth. The industry's output value in real terms is expected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.65% over the forecast period; up from 2.95% during the review period (2011โ2015). For August 2016, the construction final demand producer price index (PPI) was flat over July 2016, but is 0.7% above last year. The PPI for Inputs to construction industry goods was down -0.2% from last month and -1.7% from last year. After what will likely be 2% growth in 2016, overall construction costs are forecasted for ongoing growth in 2017 in the 2-3% range. These increases will be primarily led by gains in construction labor wages, which is forecasted for 3-4% in 2017.

The organic waste stream is composed of waste of a biological origin such as paper and cardboard, food, green and garden waste, animal waste and biosolids and sludges. Organic waste is usually generated as a component of most waste streams. For information on the treatments for managing organic wastes click on the links to the right. Four significant components of this organic, biodegradable stream are from food preparation, agricultural production, livestock manures, and municipal sewage sludge. Organic waste from food sources includes vegetables, fruits, grains, meats, fish, dairy products, etc., and constitutes some 18% of the typical municipal organic waste stream. An average of 1 kg per person per day of organic waste is produced, originating from households, wholesalers & processors, restaurants, and institutions. Urban centers are the major generators of organic food waste. Agricultural waste includes waste made up of those materials such as manure and animal output, in either solid or liquid form from poultry or other livestock operations. Manufacturing of Synthetic Resins with Formulae & ProcessesAjjay Kumar Gupta
ย
Synthetic resin is typically manufactured using a chemical polymerization process. This process then results in the creation of polymers that are more stable and homogeneous than naturally occurring resin. Since they are more stable and are cheaper, various forms of synthetic resin are used in a variety of products such as plastics, paints, varnishes, and textiles. There are various kinds of synthetic resins; silicones resins, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, gum arabic, epoxy resins, guar gum, carrageenan, carboxymethyl cellulose, etc. Resins are polymeric compound which are available in nature and are also manufactured by synthetic routes. Some resins are also manufactured by partial modification of natural precursor polymer by chemical.
During 2009โ2013, consumption of epoxy resins for coatings increased at an average annual rate of 8.3% and for electrical and electronics applications at 6.8%. Epoxy resins for composite applications increased at an average rate of 8.1% per year
In 2013, the largest end use for epoxy resins was coating applications, which accounted for 43% of total consumption, followed by electrical and electronics applications, at 35%. The resin market accounted for USD 7.54 Billion in 2015 and is expected to reach USD 11.22 Billion by 2021, growing at a CAGR of around 6.9% between 2016 and 2021.
In INDIA, epoxy resins consumption will grow at an average annual rate of 4.9% for 2013โ2018.
Epoxy resin consumption for composites in the United States is forecast to grow at an average annual rate of nearly 10% during 2013โ2018.
The present book contains formulae, processes and other valuable details for various synthetic resins. This is very useful book for those concerned with development, consultants, research scholars, new entrepreneurs existing units, institutional libraries etc.

Cultivation and Processing of Selected Medicinal PlantsAjjay Kumar Gupta
ย
Medicinal plants are important for human health. These plants have been used from the prehistoric times to present day. These plants based medicines are consumed in all civilizations. It is believed that the herbal medicine can give good effect to body without causing side effects to human life. Medicinal plants are not only a major resource base for the traditional medicine & herbal industry but also provide livelihood and health security to a large segment of Indian population. Medicinal plants constitute a large segment of the flora, which provide raw materials for use by various industries. They have been used in the country for a long time for their medicinal properties. These plants are staging a comeback and herbal renaissance is happening all over the globe. The herbal medicines today symbolize safety in contrast to the synthetics that are regarded as unsafe to human and environment. Although herbs had been priced for their medicinal, flavoring and aromatic qualities for centuries, the synthetic products of the modern age surpassed their importance, for a while.
2013.
The annual demand of botanical raw drugs in the country has been estimated at 3,19,500 MT for the year 20011-2013.There is global resurgence in traditional and alternative health care systems resulting in world herbal trade which stands at US$ 120 billion and is expected to reach US$ 7 trillion by 2050.
Indian share in the world trade, at present, however, is quite low.In state wise assessment of demand for 10 major states it works out to 33000 tons per State per year totaling to approximately 3.5 lakh tons for the country as a whole. However, individual pharmacy requirement works out to 1292 tons (approx.) annually. Assuming that there are 100 major pharmacies, the country's demand for crude drugs on this basis comes to 1.29 lakh tons per year. Combining the averages of the two sources, the demand estimate is worked out to 2.4 lakh tons of crude drugs per 122 annum.
The present book covers cultivation practices of selected commercially important medicinal plants with their processing details and uses. The book is very resourceful for medicinal plants growers, professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and agriculture universities.

A formula is an entity constructed using the symbols and formation rules of a given logical language. In science, a specific formula is a concise way of expressing information symbolically as in a mathematical or chemical formula. Paint is any liquid, liquefiable, or mastic composition that, after application to a substrate in a thin layer, converts to a solid film. It is most commonly used to protect, color, or provide texture to object.Enamel paint is paint that air dries to a hard, usually glossy, finish, used for coating surfaces that are outdoors or otherwise subject to hard ware Ink is a liquid or paste that contains pigments or dyes and is used to color a surface to produce an image, text, or design. Ink is used for drawing or writing with a pen, brush, or quill. Thicker inks, in paste form, are used extensively in letterpress and lithographic printing. or variations in temperature; it should not be confused with decorated objects in "painted enamel", where vitreous enamel is applied with brushes and fired in a kiln.Varnish is a transparent, hard, protective finish or film that is primarily used in wood finishing but also for other materials. Varnish is traditionally a combination of a drying oil, a resin, and a thinner or solvent.

The pulp is fed to a paper machine where it is formed as a paper web and the water is removed from it by pressing and drying. Pressing the sheet removes the water by force; once the water is forced from the sheet, a special kind of felt, which is not to be confused with the traditional one, is used to collect the water; whereas when making paper by hand, a blotter sheet is used instead. The pulp and paper industry continues to expand at a phenomenal rate and it has an important role to play on the Indian economy. This imposes a difficult problem of selection. Since the amount of material that can be included in a single volume is obviously limited.
Market Outlook
Despite the continued focus on digitization, Indiaโs demand for paper is expected to rise 53 per cent in the next six years, primarily due to a sustained increase in the number of school-going children in rural areas. (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) and the increasing use of documentation will keep demand for writing and printing paper buoyant. โThough Indiaโs per capita consumption is quite low compared to global peers, things are looking up and demand is set to rise from the current 13 million tonnes (mt) to an estimated 20 mt by 2020.
According to โIndia Paper Industry Forecast & Opportunities, 2017โ the paper industry in India is expected to grow at the CAGR of around 9.6% during 2012-2017, which will make the revenues of paper industry of India to reach up to USD 11.83 Billion by 2017. About 70% of the total installed capacity of paper production in India is accounted by Gujarat, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Kerala, Bihar and Assam together account for about 25% of the total paper production in India.

Glass is a non-crystalline amorphous solid that is often transparent and has widespread practical, technological, and decorative usage in, for example, window panes, tableware, and optoelectronics. The most familiar, and historically the oldest, types of glass are "silicate glasses" based on the chemical compound silica (silicon dioxide, or quartz), the primary constituent of sand. The term glass, in popular usage, is often used to refer only to this type of material, which is familiar from use as window glass and in glass bottles. Of the many silica-based glasses that exist, ordinary glazing and container glass is formed from a specific type called soda-lime glass, composed of approximately 75% silicon dioxide (SiO2), sodium oxide (Na2O) from sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), calcium oxide, also called lime (CaO), and several minor additives.
DEMAND OF GLASS
Indian packaging industry is pegged to be around $ 15 billion with a growth rate of 15 % approximately, out of which Indian container glass industry stands at $ 0.87 billion with an approximate growth rate of 12 %. The Indian float glass is estimated to be around $ 0.76 billion with growth rate of 32 % in the last fiscal year. The comparison between per capita consumption of glass in countries like the USA - 27.5 kg and Japan 10.2 kg suggests that India with a consumption of 1.4 kg has a huge scope for significant growth opportunities.

Tannin structure plays a determinant role in formulating tannin resin and adhesives for industrial use. Tannin adhesive has been used as a thermosetting wood adhesivefor wood panels to reduce formaldehyde emission. Tannin adhesive gives excellent adhesive performance, good moisture resistance, and tends to give a lower formaldehyde emission. Tannin wood adhesive in a non-formaldehyde approach has a low hardening rate and needs more pressing time than formaldehyde-based wood adhesives during wood composites production.

Surgical gloves also known as Medical gloves. These gloves are medical safety accessories that ensure sanitary hospital conditions by limiting patientsโ exposure to infectious matter. They also serve to protect health professionals from disease through contact with body fluids. Medical gloves are traditionally made of latex and powdered with cornstarch. Since cornstarch can impede healing if it gets into tissues (as during surgery), non-powdered gloves are being increasingly used during surgery and other sensitive procedures.

Pine chemicals are derived from the distillation of oleoresin or carbonization of wood. These chemicals are largely obtained from three sources: 1) living trees; 2) dead pine stumps and logs; and 3) as by-products of sulfate (or Kraft) pulping. Most distilled products are made from gum, stumps, logs, and sulfate pulp byproducts.
Pine oleoresin is a complex mixture of volatile and nonvolatile terpenes. Terpenes constitute the largest group of secondary products (with more than 40,000 different metabolites). Global investments in new forest plantations have focused on fast-growing hardwood plantations over the past 15 years. But there is a growing interest in developing new pine plantations for production of oleoresin.

Sand quality and cost-effective leads infrastructure in rural villages, a fundamental questions are identification of
sources of construction sand mines, available quality and supply management how to maintain it is big challenges?
Should the license holder suppliers or a government agency above them manage the construction of the
infrastructure project? To answer this question, we surveyed all Society of Consulting Architectural and Engineering
Firms, Nepal (SCAFE) members involved in infrastructure projects, As per Federation Contractorsโ Association of
Nepal (FCAN), Sand quarry operator, Sand suppliers and sand washing plant operators in Kathmandu valley of
Nepal. Findings clearly indicate that the most important causes were lack of proper management, awareness and
understanding, quality, test skill and knowledge with contractor, consult and other stake holders. Also government
and authority have not taken action to support legal aspects and control illegal operation as well as maintain supply
management of construction sand for infrastructure projects.
Rocks are used in various purpose like building material, in foundation, as railway ballast,in dam etc. That's why careful studies bring out the inherent advantage and disadvantage of a site and such studies go a long way either in reducing or in increasing the cost of the structure.

Building Materials for Construction
1.
2. www.entrepreneurindia.co
Introduction
Construction industry is the largest consumer of material
resources, of both the natural ones (like stone, sand, clay, lime)
and the processed and synthetic ones. Each material which is
used in the construction, in one form or the other is known as
construction material (engineering material). No material,
existing in the universe is useless; every material has its own
field of application. Stone, bricks, timber, steel, lime, cement,
metals etc. are some commonly used materials by civil
engineers. Selection of building material, to be used in a
particular construction, is done on the basis of strength,
durability, appearance and permeability. The stone which is used
in the construction works, in one form or another is always
obtained from the rocks. The rocks may be classified in four
ways; geological classification, physical classification, chemical
classification and classification based on hardness of the stone.
3. www.entrepreneurindia.co
Various king of rocks come under these classification for
example; igneous rocks, plutonic rocks, sedimentary rocks,
silicious rocks, stratified rocks etc. brick is the most commonly
used building material which is light, easily available, uniform
in shape and size and relatively cheaper except in hilly areas.
Bricks are easily moulded from plastic clays, also known as
brick clays or brick earth. Bricks can be moulded by any of the
three methods; soft mud process, stiff mud process and semi
dry process. There are various kinds of bricks; specially shaped
bricks, burnt clay bricks, heavy duty bricks, sand lime bricks,
sewer bricks, refractory bricks, acid resistant bricks etc. lime is
an important building material, it has been used since ancient
times. Lime is used as a binding material in mortar and
concretes, for plastering, for manufacturing glass, for preparing
lime sand bricks, soil stabilization etc.
4. www.entrepreneurindia.co
Concrete is a construction material obtained by mixing a binder
(such as cement, lime, mud etc.), aggregate (sand and gravel or
shingle or crushed aggregate), and water in certain proportions.
Based on the binding materials, the common concretes can be
classified as; mud concrete, lime concrete, cement concrete and
polymer concrete. World demand for cement and concrete
additives is projected to increase 8.3 percent annually in next few
years.
This book basically deals with rock and stone, formation of
rocks, classification of rocks, geological classification,

The book provide wide coverage of building materials such as
stone, bricks, lime, mortars, concrete, asbestos, gray iron, cast
iron, steel castings, aluminium, wood, architectural paints and
so many others with their applications in building construction.
The book is resourceful for all professionals related to
construction field, technocrats, students and libraries.
6. Market outlook
The global market for construction materials is projected to exceed US $ 1
trillion by 2020, driven by improving world economic outlook and recovering
construction activity in residential, commercial and infrastructure sector. India's
construction industry will continue to expand over the forecast period (2016โ
2020), with investments in residential, infrastructure and energy projects
continuing to drive growth. The industry's output value in real terms is expected
to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.65% over the forecast
period; up from 2.95% during the review period (2011โ2015). For August 2016,
the construction final demand producer price index (PPI) was flat over July
2016, but is 0.7% above last year. The PPI for Inputs to construction industry
goods was down -0.2% from last month and -1.7% from last year. After what will
likely be 2% growth in 2016, overall construction costs are forecasted for
ongoing growth in 2017 in the 2-3% range. These increases will be primarily led
by gains in construction labor wages, which is forecasted for 3-4% in 2017.
Material costs are forecasted to have a 2-3% increase. Asphalt paving, fabricated
steel and concrete block pricing should resume growth in 2017 after
contractions in 2016. Gypsum products will experience the strongest growth of
all materials with 6-7% increase in price.
