This document outlines several international teacher exchange programs and their goals of broadening educational and cultural understanding between countries. It describes programs such as the Visiting International Faculty Program that places teachers in US schools for up to 3 years, the Fulbright Teacher Exchange for semester or year-long direct exchanges, and Inter-African Teacher Exchanges that allow learning from other African education systems. The benefits of these exchanges are said to include professional development, renewing enthusiasm, and gaining a global perspective. Teachers are asked to imagine how they might have developed after participating in one of these programs.
