This document discusses the Alternative Learning System (ALS) and Non-Formal Education (NFE) programs in the Philippines. ALS and NFE provide educational opportunities for out-of-school youth, working individuals, and senior citizens. They aim to improve access to secondary education and develop skills for employment. Classes are conducted in Community Learning Centers, where instructors teach competencies in communication, problem-solving, sustainable development, and more. Students are assessed and grouped by level, and can earn elementary or high school certificates and diplomas upon completing the program.
