However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Hailee Steinfeild is a very in powering
female and I want to communicate that
to the audience. To do this I decided to
choose the images with Hailee wearing
black and hair down as this gives her a
rebellious look. The digipak would
include a booklet of photos for each
song released in the album. Half of the
images I want to be close ups of
Hailee's face and the other half long
shots to show her rebellious fashion
sense. The digipak will be an exclusive
look for Hailee’s new album, therefore
becoming popular amongst her fans as
here will only be a limited amount. This
is like many other digipaks however to
stand out, I would make each image an
exclusive look at individual photoshoots
Specifically for this digipak.
4. Magazine Advert
The magazine advert would be a bold statement much like Hailee
herself. To portray this I decided to use a medium long shot to show
her rebellious fashion sense and also her bold stated make up. I've
placed the protagonist in front of the writing to show her importance
and strong stance as a person. The titles would be in gold as this
colour is often associated with wealth power and feminists, which is
exactly what I am trying to express about Hailee. At the bottom of
the advert her name is presented large so the audience would be
able to understand who's music is coming out, Then under that is the
release date. For the main audience (fans) there will be an exclusive
look on what some of the songs would be called. If this where an
official advert I would also place a link to her website under the
exclusive song names.
