ANALYSIS OF MUSIC POSTERS By Amy Bruce

LADY GAGA POSTER ,[object Object],A seductive pose has been used which attracts a male audience as well as a female audience. Lady GaGa is naked which connotes freedom which connotes the lyrics of her songs she’s “bearing all” to her fans her lyrics speak the truth, she has nothing to hide. The colour of the poster is in black and white which attracts the audience as it would stand out if it was placed in-between colourful posters. The name of the album is clearly stated at the bottom of the photograph, in a bold font, however the focus is more on lady gaga herself as she is such an icon at the moment, she is almost selling herself to her fans not just the album itself. The image is a medium shot and is clearly within the frame. The only negative point I have about this poster is that the date the album is released is not on it. Therefore the target audience does not know when to purchase it. The name of the company is at the bottom, however it is so small the audience will just make it out.

BEYONCÉ POSTER ,[object Object],Beyoncé is all in black and white whereas the back ground is a sepia colour. This is presents Beyoncé more than the actual name of the album. Her name is in an attractive bold font which draws the audience in and tells them the iconic Beyoncé has a new single out. The singles name is in a littler font as that seems to be not irrelevant but more insignificant than the artist herself. It seems that the photographer has focused more on her than the name because that’s all her fans need to know, that she has a new single out. Again the only bad point is that just like the Lady GaGa poster there is no mention of when the single is out. Beyonce is wearing all black which denotes an image of fire. This connotes power and the burning of something which in this case would be Beyonce herself as her altar-ego is Sasha Fierce she is representing the birth of her.

THE HOOSIERS TOUR POSTER ,[object Object],The colour scheme is quite plain using natural, nature colours. The place where the tour will be is clearly in red which immediately attracts the audience. Even though they have not used the band as their image they have used an intriguing border/image to attract the audience. To attract the audience even more they have a said special guests will be attending, this will make the audience want to attend the gig as they will be curious as to who they may be. Even though the poster is effective I think it would have been better to possibly add another image to draw the audience in further.
