This document provides feedback on student work and homework assignments. It notes that some student books were well organized while others were messy. It evaluates homework on mise-en-scene, finding most students could identify shots and angles but lacked key terms. Scores ranged from G to C/D with an average of D3. Feedback is given on PEA paragraphs, noting some students did well while others did not finish or chose topics they did not understand well. Students are instructed to improve their work and homework is due on Tuesday.
2. WWW
• Some books are well kept – complete
classwork, neat etc
• Charts to organise notes clearly
• Titles and dates
• some good effort in classwork
3. EBI
• Some books are messy
• Incomplete classwork????????
• Homework is not labelled
• Titles/dates missing and/or not underlined
• Messy notes
4. Mise-en-scene homework
(option ½)
• Lowest mark: G
• Highest mark: C/D
• Average mark: D3
• Overall disappointing but about 5 people did well
• Nearly everyone can identify shot/angle
• Not enough key terms
– MES: Lighting, setting, costume, props, facial expression, body language
– CAM SAMC: shot, angle, composition/framing
• Use chart to organise (key terms/evidence/meaning)
• Placement is wrong: this is placement in the frame
• 9 frame option:
– FRAMES, not pictures
– more terms, and try to link all frames (then you could make conclusion about
narrative)
8. PEA paragraphs
• Draft will be marked
• Better – 1/2 of you did well
• Good use of P E A
• Some of you didn’t finish make better use of class time – this caused you to
underachieve
• Choose topics you understand!!!!!!!!
– In draft, do ones you feel comfortable with
• E A must back up (relate to) the POINT!
• Some of you didn’t copy points down correctly
• A lot of you write analysis in evidence!!!!!!!!
• Evidence: what you see (in the frame)
– Batman is wearing a cape
• Analysis: what it means/signifies/connotes
– This connotes he is a superhero
• Placement: mostly wrong – placement in FRAME
– There is asymmetrical balance to show the characters to suggest action, it is likely that Batman
used force to move the Joker from the table to show his dominance. This is suggested as he is
standing over the Joker and the Joker looks vulnerable.
