Production Process Evaluation
Research
• There were some strengths and some weaknesses in my project, my
strengths were that I could find information on what the gods looked like
and what they were gods of, like Zeus is the god of thunder and the god of
all gods. Another strength was that i was able to find a lot of Greek
mythology creatures and that I could name at least 10 of them.
• My weaknesses were that I was spending to much time on looking at them
than drawing them and I was going into, too much detail on their
appearance. I took way too long on how to make them, them like, making
Zeus having his lightening bolt and Poseidon having his trident, I also spent
to much time on how to get the details right on the body, robes, hair ect.
Planning
• In my planning I had a few strengths and weaknesses along the way, some
of my strengths were that I planned all my work out before I drew/wrote
it, I was very precise of how where to put things where they should be on
the page. I also done a lot of preproduction as in I done colour schemes,
font testing, seeing what images would look good in a graphic novel.
• My weaknesses were that I don’t think I didn’t put enough detail into my
planning and that I didn’t put much writing either because I put like 1
paragraph and that was it.
Time Management
• I was not good at time management but I tried my best to keep up with
the deadlines. I had some strengths and some weaknesses along the way
but I made sure I got all m work, also I had a table that had a strict time
schedule that I need to follow that helps me on how much time I have left
and how much of the project I have to do, also Chantelle had a time
schedule up on blackboard for when every piece of work has to be in by.
• My strengths were that as the weeks got on I was getting better at my
time management.
• My weaknesses were that I didn’t meet the deadlines in time and that I
don’t think I had enough time to do like 2/3 PowerPoints but I got them
finished finally.
Technical Qualities
The difference here is that
the existing product is that
it has a title and that mine
does not.
The pictures are different but they both
have gods in them and they are colourful
with a plain background.
The original Novel has the author
and illustrator on it and it has a
sponsored logo but my one does
not, that is something I will have to
change.
In my novel the background is white
because it is Olympus and in the
original it is a ready/orangey sky.
The characters on my cover have been
coloured in buy hand and the ones on
the original have been coloured by
computer.
Aesthetic Qualities
My wok looks alright at this point I
would change a few things like
putting in my own drawings and
coloured them in myself.
I also could’ve done a title to go with
the cover, something like “The war of
the gods: The beginning”.
I could of coloured in the background so it
wouldn’t be so plain and boring.
As well as the Pegasus flying threw the air.
I could’ve wrote who illustrated it and who
wrote the actual novel (me) and who done
all the practicing on the inside of the cover.
I like Cerberus in the background and
Zeus is well coloured even though it took
me about 2 hours to colour but I finally
got it done.
I like the fact how in over Olympus
there is a guy riding a Pegasus and
that he is just riding into the
sunset.
This is the middle page parting
and I like how the writing goes
so well with the background
and the picture of Cerberus.
I could of used a different
background to this one seeing
as the Cerberus because, it is a
cartoony picture of him and the
background is not.
This is the blurb of the book
and It could’ve been
coloured in a bit better and
the beast could have been
placed more neatly.
Audience Appeal
This will only really appeal to boys and
some girls that read graphic novels
and comics,
Because it is mainly for the male
variety but there is a bit of romance an
mystery in there that females would
like.
The colours will stand out to anyone
because, all genders like bright and
bold colours.
Although some people didn’t seem to
like any comic or graphic novels in the
survey, the Interviews on the other hand
people seemed to like them and they
were more interested in war, romance
and action than any other genre of
comic.
Cerberus would appeal to older
people seeing as it would look quite
scary to younger readers and that I
is a 3 headed hound with molten
lava coming out of its mouth.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the fact that The three gods were all
colourful in stead of just one colour and that
Cerberus is in the back looking like he is going to
eat them.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could of added a title and who wrote it/
Illustrated it.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I likes the middle page split where Cerberus is in
the corner and he is looking like he is ready to
pounce on you, the writing goes well with the
background and the image as well.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could’ve used more images on the middle
page split and you could of went into more detail
on what the second novel was about.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the blurb although it looks a bit rough I
liked the description and I like all the beasts that
are on the back.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could of coloured the pictures in more neatly
and put some more description into your text.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that I could've added more to all of them
and that I need to put more description into them.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I don’t really disagree with anything.
Peer Feedback Summary
If there was a next time I would of made the front cover have a title and make
sure that I would put on who wrote/illustrated it, also would of coloured the
Gods in a bit more because, it was a rough idea of what the front cover would
look like and I would change some of the looks of them as well.
On my Middle page split I would add more characters to the pages so that it is
not only Cerberus, I would also add more description to it seeing as I didn’t
much description into it. I would probably change the colour of the writing
because it blends in with the background instead of Standing out.
On my blurb I would added more description like tell you more about what
happens and more about the characters are in the Novel. I would of coloured in
the beasts a bit more and could’ve placed them more neatly and more
separate.

7. evaluation

  • 3. Research • There were some strengths and some weaknesses in my project, my strengths were that I could find information on what the gods looked like and what they were gods of, like Zeus is the god of thunder and the god of all gods. Another strength was that i was able to find a lot of Greek mythology creatures and that I could name at least 10 of them. • My weaknesses were that I was spending to much time on looking at them than drawing them and I was going into, too much detail on their appearance. I took way too long on how to make them, them like, making Zeus having his lightening bolt and Poseidon having his trident, I also spent to much time on how to get the details right on the body, robes, hair ect.
  • 4. Planning • In my planning I had a few strengths and weaknesses along the way, some of my strengths were that I planned all my work out before I drew/wrote it, I was very precise of how where to put things where they should be on the page. I also done a lot of preproduction as in I done colour schemes, font testing, seeing what images would look good in a graphic novel. • My weaknesses were that I don’t think I didn’t put enough detail into my planning and that I didn’t put much writing either because I put like 1 paragraph and that was it.
  • 5. Time Management • I was not good at time management but I tried my best to keep up with the deadlines. I had some strengths and some weaknesses along the way but I made sure I got all m work, also I had a table that had a strict time schedule that I need to follow that helps me on how much time I have left and how much of the project I have to do, also Chantelle had a time schedule up on blackboard for when every piece of work has to be in by. • My strengths were that as the weeks got on I was getting better at my time management. • My weaknesses were that I didn’t meet the deadlines in time and that I don’t think I had enough time to do like 2/3 PowerPoints but I got them finished finally.
  • 6. Technical Qualities The difference here is that the existing product is that it has a title and that mine does not. The pictures are different but they both have gods in them and they are colourful with a plain background. The original Novel has the author and illustrator on it and it has a sponsored logo but my one does not, that is something I will have to change. In my novel the background is white because it is Olympus and in the original it is a ready/orangey sky. The characters on my cover have been coloured in buy hand and the ones on the original have been coloured by computer.
  • 7. Aesthetic Qualities My wok looks alright at this point I would change a few things like putting in my own drawings and coloured them in myself. I also could’ve done a title to go with the cover, something like “The war of the gods: The beginning”. I could of coloured in the background so it wouldn’t be so plain and boring. As well as the Pegasus flying threw the air. I could’ve wrote who illustrated it and who wrote the actual novel (me) and who done all the practicing on the inside of the cover. I like Cerberus in the background and Zeus is well coloured even though it took me about 2 hours to colour but I finally got it done. I like the fact how in over Olympus there is a guy riding a Pegasus and that he is just riding into the sunset. This is the middle page parting and I like how the writing goes so well with the background and the picture of Cerberus. I could of used a different background to this one seeing as the Cerberus because, it is a cartoony picture of him and the background is not. This is the blurb of the book and It could’ve been coloured in a bit better and the beast could have been placed more neatly.
  • 8. Audience Appeal This will only really appeal to boys and some girls that read graphic novels and comics, Because it is mainly for the male variety but there is a bit of romance an mystery in there that females would like. The colours will stand out to anyone because, all genders like bright and bold colours. Although some people didn’t seem to like any comic or graphic novels in the survey, the Interviews on the other hand people seemed to like them and they were more interested in war, romance and action than any other genre of comic. Cerberus would appeal to older people seeing as it would look quite scary to younger readers and that I is a 3 headed hound with molten lava coming out of its mouth.
  • 10. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? – I liked the fact that The three gods were all colourful in stead of just one colour and that Cerberus is in the back looking like he is going to eat them. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – You could of added a title and who wrote it/ Illustrated it.
  • 11. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? – I likes the middle page split where Cerberus is in the corner and he is looking like he is ready to pounce on you, the writing goes well with the background and the image as well. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – You could’ve used more images on the middle page split and you could of went into more detail on what the second novel was about.
  • 12. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? – I liked the blurb although it looks a bit rough I liked the description and I like all the beasts that are on the back. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – You could of coloured the pictures in more neatly and put some more description into your text.
  • 13. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? – I agree that I could've added more to all of them and that I need to put more description into them. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? – I don’t really disagree with anything.
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary If there was a next time I would of made the front cover have a title and make sure that I would put on who wrote/illustrated it, also would of coloured the Gods in a bit more because, it was a rough idea of what the front cover would look like and I would change some of the looks of them as well. On my Middle page split I would add more characters to the pages so that it is not only Cerberus, I would also add more description to it seeing as I didn’t much description into it. I would probably change the colour of the writing because it blends in with the background instead of Standing out. On my blurb I would added more description like tell you more about what happens and more about the characters are in the Novel. I would of coloured in the beasts a bit more and could’ve placed them more neatly and more separate.
