Assignment 3: Sweded Trailer Planning

• 3) construction (putting it together) 
• 4) end product (what it looks like on the character) 
• *could try to explain how the costume helps to represent your character (ie if you are trying to 
represent a professional business woman you could explain your clean and tidy suits helps to 
represent her as professional and smart) 
• Lots of before and after pictures!

• Location ideas, where do you think you will film each scene? 
– (sit down/written planning/mind mapping)

– What it could possibly look like (inspirational photos)

  • 2. Assignment 3: Sweded Trailer Planning • Make a joint powerpoint • Planning will include: a) storyboard existing trailer b) script c) prop & costume & actor evidence d) location planning
  • 3. Choose a Group Option • Option 1: Everyone do everything together • Option 2: Each person have different job • Must colour code work to show who did what if you choose option 1
  • 4. Storyboard • Illustrates a frame • Show show shot/angle • Have description of shot/movement underneath • Transitions in between • You can draw yourself • Use templates online • Storyboard creation websites/apps

Storyboards - levels Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Format: -hand drawn or not clear Drawings: -rushed and minimal Presentation/organisation: -messy and very little organisation of text, sequence is not clear Descriptions: -extremely minimal or no written descriptions to identify frames/shots etc Format: -may have chosen/development a basic template Drawings: -some development but shots/angles may not be clear Presentation/organisation: -some understanding of sequence of shots but text organisation may need development Descriptions: -written descriptions are basic, (such as just frame #s or type of shots) may not provide enough of detail in description Format: -selection & application of an effective template for good presentation Drawings: -fairly good representations of people/objects/locations with clarity of shots/angles Presentation/organisation: -neat & clear, frames/drawings are nicely presented with clear text organisation, may need some development in detail Descriptions: -neat & clear, frames/drawings are nicely presented with clear text organisation Format: -selection & application of an excellent template for superb presentation, small details may have been designed/created by student Drawings: -excellent representations of people/objects/locations with clarity of shots/angles including small details such as lighting Presentation/organisation: -neat & clear, all aspects are well presented including small detail of text (such as shots/descriptions/subtitles are all clear) Descriptions: -all details of text are fully clear and describe & complements visual frames

Costumes • You will have to be as realistic as possible but no need to go really overboard (this is filming/editing task mainly!) • Some aspects will need to be made (ex buildings) • Same evidence as props….. • 1) Research (looking for costumes, what they will look like) • 2) idea/planning (planning what clothes go where etc) • 3) construction (putting it together) • 4) end product (what it looks like on the character) • *could try to explain how the costume helps to represent your character (ie if you are trying to represent a professional business woman you could explain your clean and tidy suits helps to represent her as professional and smart) • Lots of before and after pictures!

Location ( 4 different slides) • Location ideas, where do you think you will film each scene? – (sit down/written planning/mind mapping) • Inspirational location evidence – What possible locations? – What it could possibly look like (inspirational photos) • Location scouting evidence – Research of potential places (screen grabs/availability) – Evidence of places you think might work (photos) • Chosen location evidence – Photos show chosen locations NO PHOTOS FROM INTERNET – Range of photos (all angles) (not just 1 photo you can barely see!)
  • 17. Location layout • Don’t just plop the photos on • Clear photos with good lighting • Annotations to explain locations – Where it is – Description of location – Potential hazards etc

Generally completes bare necessities! -mostly accurate details, minor parts missing or incorrect -very good/clear content, presentation & organisation of images & text is clear, concise and not messy or cluttered There work is accurate, with good detail and good effort. There are very minor errors which can be quickly amended. -fully accurate details, minor no errors, student has been innovative and gone beyond set expectations -excellent content, presentation & organisation of images & text is completely clear, overall, work is sequential and orderly There work is fully accurate, with high attention to detail and excellent effort. If any errors, they are incredibly minor but generally, there are no errors
