Sports Injury Research Paper
Sports Injury Paper Outline Extensive work in the EMS field and in training can eventually result in
many different types of injuries. There are three different kinds of injuries that EMS faces in the field
of practice that can result in injury such as back injuries, burns and trauma. Burns are a very common
cause of harmful injuries and sometimes death in the field of EMS. It can occur by a number of
different ways such as contact with fire, steam, hot objects, and contact with electrical sources or
lighting. As well as structure fires, vehicle fires, and brush fires, and includes to all actions from the

The Absence Of Effective Birth Control Essay
INTRODUCTON
The absence of effective birth control led women to resort to abortion between 1900 and 1940. Up
until the arrival of the contraceptive pill in the early 1960 s, New Zealand, predominantly women, but
also men struggled to acquire effective and reliable birth control. There were many reasons why birth
control was limited and frowned upon in New Zealand for over half of the twentieth century,
including, religion, the social expectation of women, and the desire for a large population in New
Zealand. Many women advocated for the introduction of an effective form of birth control in New
Zealand for a number of years before becoming successful in 1961. The women s main argument
during their fight for contraception availability in New Zealand, was that abortion would be rare if the
introduction of a reliable contraceptive method were to happen. In this essay, I will argue that the
absence of effective birth control led women to resort to abortion between 1900 and 1940 by first
analysing the attitudes of society during this era, particularly towards women and contraception, I will
then examine the methods women were resorting to in order to prevent pregnancy, finally, I will
discuss the regular occurrence of abortions during the first half of the twentieth century and how birth
control lays a factor in this. Concluding with, the absence of effective birth control did in fact lead
women to resort to abortion from 1900 to 1940.

Health care regulatory agencies supervise professional of the health care profession such as
physicians, hospitals, and labs. Providing information in regards to changes in health care along with
ensuring the safety and legal compliance and the quality of services provided to the public is the duty
assigned to the agency. These agencies can range from the federal, all the way to the local level with

Tinnitus Research Papers
What Is Tinnitus?
If you have experienced sudden ringing in ear, then you may have a condition called tinnitus. This is a
condition that affects around 20 percent of adults. It is often a sign of an underlying problem, such as a
circulatory problem or ear injury. It may also be a sign of hearing loss.
In addition to sudden ringing in ear, a person may notice a clicking, roaring or hissing sound. One may
hear the noise in one or both ears. In some cases, the noise is so loud that a person is unable to
concentrate.
What Causes Sudden Ringing In Ear?
There are a number of things that can possibly cause tinnitus. It can be caused by an infection or
blockage in the ear. It may also be caused by exposure to loud noises. In fact, it is estimated that 90
percent of people with tinnitus have noise induced hearing loss.
High blood pressure and heart disease can also cause tinnitus. This condition can also occur due ...

Subjective tinnitus is the type of tinnitus that only you can hear. Objective tinnitus is the type that can
be heard during an examination.
Treatments For Tinnitus
There is no cure for tinnitus, but there are some things that can be done to manage it. If your tinnitus is
caused by the buildup of earwax, then removing the earwax can help alleviate the sudden ringing in
ear. Earwax can be removed by flushing the ear out with warm water. It can also be removed with a
device called a curette.
There are also some medications that can be used to reduce the tinnitus symptoms. Valium, which is
an anti anxiety medication, can be used to treat tinnitus. Alprazolam, which is another medication, can
also reduce tinnitus symptoms.
White noise machines can also be beneficial for people who suffer from tinnitus. These machines
create environmental sounds, such as ocean waves and falling rain. Additionally, if a person suffers

Speed Or Tempo Research Paper
Speed or Tempo: What is the difference?
Michael Smith
American Military University
Speed or Tempo: What is the difference?
Speed in terms of command and control is the ability to shorten the time needed to make key
decisions, plans, coordinate as well as communicate. Whereas tempo is acting at the right time as well
as acting the fastest or the earliest, the main importance between the two is speed is the ability to
shorten the time between the decisions being made whereas tempo, is implementing the right timing
on the battlefield. There is a large need to increase speed on the battlefield, whether it be speeding up
operations or slowing the enemies speed. Now which one allows the other to be more effective?

enemy, to outthink and out maneuver, is a key on the battlefield that can decide victory or failure. One
key example of this was in WWII with General George S. Patton, during the battle of the bulge he and
his staff began preparing 3 separate plans as well as keeping their information flow open in case of a
German attack which came. His ability to read the battlefield and the information being fed to him
from his G 2 kept him well informed and gave him the ability to preempt the strike and counter the

Comparing The Los Angeles Dodgers And San Francisco Giants
The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have been two of the oldest teams to play at a pro
level, both established in 1883 in New York. The Giants were originally known as the New York
Gothams and then became the New York Giants in 1886, and the Dodgers were originally the
Brooklyn Atlantics and changed to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1932. In 1958 they would both move to
California and the Giants would go to San Francisco and the Dodgers, Los Angeles. As the rivalry has
grown, it is regarded as one of the greatest and longest lasting rivalries in baseball history. This would
be the presumptive National League rivalry compared to the Red Sox Yankees rivalry. Since the

Both teams have seen a number of players fall to injury directly affecting their win loss record, and for
the two teams, a number of players that are irreplaceable are still on the DL. Clayton Kershaw is the
biggest name that is on the Dodgers DL and Mac Williams for the Giants. Both teams have shown
signs of greatness during this year; the Giants were the best team heading into the second half of the
season and now the Dodgers are one of the best teams heading into the postseason. Hopefully, the
Giants can get out of their hiccup and the Dodgers can continue to play as well as they are.
Fortunately, there are nine more scheduled game that the Dodgers and Giants will play against each
other including tonight. The three upcoming games with the Giants and Dodgers will be played in LA
and the next six will be in San Francisco. Players like Corey Seager, Justin Turner, Adrian Gonzalez,
and Chase Utley have played great as of late and Brandon Crawford, Angel Pagan, Hunter Pence, and
Denard Span have played the best as of late for the Giants. Hopefully, the Giants Dodgers upcoming
games will produce a lot of offense and maybe the Giants can come out of the slump, but the Dodgers
will try not to let that happen. These players will incredibly important if each side wants to win. For
the upcoming games, the starting pitchers will be: Madison Bumgarner v. Kenta Maeda

Twilight Moms, By Stephenie Meyer s Twilight Books And...
Living in the United States in 2016, one is familiar with the fandom spurred from Stephenie Meyer s
Twilight books and the subsequent Twilight movies. Twilight Moms, a controversial sector of the
fandom composed of adult female fans, have garnered attention in recent years. One of the most well
known photographs of Twilight Moms captures the fans emotions at a 2009 Twilight Event (Buckner).
However, what strikes viewers most is not the emotions of the women, but rather their age; the
subjects of the image are not tweens and teens, but adult women. The visual rhetoric argues that
Twilight s appeal is not exclusive to young adults; it also encompasses older women. The media
claims that Twilight Moms are anti feminist women who refuse to grow up. However, the media s
biased accusations are simply not true. In all reality, Twilight Moms are a group of women that relate
to Twilight s protagonist and seek bonding experiences with their daughters as well as an escape from
the monotony of everyday life. So what exactly constitutes a Twilight Mom? The term Twilight Moms
was first coined in December of 2007 when Lisa Hansen launched the Twilight Moms MySpace page
(Brodesser akner). According to Hansen, she originally created Twilight Moms for married women
and mothers; however, that definition has since changed (Hare). Today, Twilight Moms is a more
inclusive group consisting of any female fan of Twilight beyond her teen years. Because Twilight
Moms are grown women

Amanda Ripley s The Unthinkable, She Covers Disasters...
When I lived in Los Angeles during high school, me and my neighbor Brandon would frequently take
the Metro train to get to school. While we waited for the train, we would occasionally hear the
automated intercom say, In case of an emergency, don t hesitate to locate the nearest emergency
phones or Metro sheriff. This recurring message was often ignored by us as well as passengers who
were occupied with other things or had earphones in. The problem with this is, if an emergency or
disaster happened at that moment, we wouldn t know how to properly engage in saving ourselves.

Social media and technology in general can provide valuable tools to reduce those gaps (Wukich
Mergel, 2015).
Another reason the majority are not in readiness of an emergency situation is because, as Dennis
Mileti stated, Individuals underperceive risk (Ripley 43). As a person who has been studying ways to
warn people of disasters for over 30 years, Mileti believes that we tend to discount low probability,
high consequence events. When we think of a disaster, the routine thought is to assume that the
probability is so low that it could never possibly happen to us. Not this plane ride, not this drive, not
this time is what we tell ourselves, making us doubt the high risk situation. In Chapter 2 of Ripley s
book, she recounts an interview that she did with the daughter of a man who underestimated the power
of Hurricane Katrina. The 85 year old man, Patrick Turner, had survived the past two hurricanes that
hit Louisiana before Katrina did (Ripley 24). When he heard of the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, he
did not take it as serious as he should have because the warnings the government gave about this
tsunami were the same as the last two and the last two hurricanes ended up not being that bad. Before
the last hurricane, Turner spent over 10 hours on the road evacuating only to find out that it was not
severe. Because of the wrong preparation

Killing The Deer Research Paper
To Hunt and gift a deer can be a long and difficult process, short and easy process, or it could be a mix
of both. It all depends on the day, time, weather, and most importantly of all, deer. Sometimes a person
tag out within minutes of the beginning of opening day. Other times a person will see three deer all of
which are out of shooting range. Hunting the deer starts with the preparation phase. this phase begins
two ways. If a person don t posses the proper equipment said person should purchase it from a local
sporting goods store or Walmart. The equipment required and price of it depends on the area and
season the person are hunting in. If the person is hunting in muzzleloader season they will need a
muzzleloading rifle, a backpack , ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This should be done at least a month before the opening day of deer season. The hunter will need to
find a suitable place to set up your blind, stand, or the area you will stand and wait for the deer in. A
good location has good shooting lanes over routes known to be used by deer. Water sources and
gullies are good for shotgun and muzzleloader season while the tops of the hills above these gullies
are good for bow season. If there is brush in the way of the shooting lane it should be cleared that out
with a machete. Any trees in the way of the lanes can be cut down and out of the way with a chainsaw
if there is room for it to fall down. They are going to want to block all alternate paths from the deer.
The problem with this is that it is often impossible to cover every path through around your point of
ambush Restful, Scott. Seven Best Days of the Rut. Field Stream,2016, p. 45. the solution to this
problem is to cut trees down at an angle so that deer cannot go through those paths. If they are doing a
group hunt the hunter first needs to assemble a group of hunters to do he hunt. Then they need to pick
a field or wood to drive (a drive is the process of a group of hunters walking through the woods

wondering what kind of idiot would be out in this. I wasn t one of those people. I was the idiot in a
rioting deer blind, wondering why the deer had stopped showing up at that blind in the last 5 days.
With 30 minutes left until I could see to shoot, a movement in the distance caught my eye. I pulled up

people would have killed him, right then and there. However, I knew that bigger bucks haunted this
woods than that, so I waited. 15minutes later, he had showed in the small clearing 100 yards in front
of me, like a ghost out of the mist. I Watched that deer eat for a few minutes, hoping that another deer
would show. Then, as I was ready to give up, a movement deep in the woods caught my eye. I
watched a deer walk out, and he mad the other buck look like a ant. I knew it was a buck, and I knew
he was big. I was wondering how I could be sure he was a nice 8, when all of the sudden he turned his

IRA is the stands for an Individual Retirement Account, which is another form of a savings plan. You
can open an IRA through almost any large financial institution, including banks, mutual fund
companies and brokerage firms (Where should I open an IRA). It is a savings account meant for your
retirement. It helps save money for your future so by the time you retire you will have enough to live
off of. There are different types of IRA s to pick and choose from to best fit what the individual needs
along with what they are eligible for as well. The main 3 are Traditional, SEP (Simplified Employee

This IRA is meant for business owners to help contribute toward their employees retirement as well as
their own retirement as well (SEP Plan FAQs). The amount that employers can deposit into this IRA is
up to 15% (Internet Retirement Allowance). The benefits of this IRA are less responsibility, low fees,
tax deferred and tax deductible (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). The employee
does not have a lot of responsibility because he or she does not have to put the money into the
retirement account on his or her own; the employer does it directly. While this is helpful to the
employee, the employer gets to deduct the contributions that they make into the fund from their taxes
creating an incentive for them (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). SEP accounts
have reasonable fees; they re not over the top. The last benefit of a SEP IRA is the money you make in
the retirement account from investments is allowed to grow tax free; you do not have to worry about
taxes before you retire (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). The disadvantages are
contributions and no guarantees (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). The bad thing
about contributions is that the employee does not get a say on how much they want to deposit into
their SEP account; the employer decides for them. The last thing that is a con is that there could be no
requirements for contributions; they employer can pick and chose when they want to make a
contribution to the employees account (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). The SEP
IRA is good for employees who do not want the responsibility for putting money into their retirement
account. It is a risky one since the employee will be depending on the employer to do their part of the
contribution. It is important to make sure you have a good employer if you do decide to choose to go

was centered around training, women and the games.
Training was a predominant force in the lives of those unfortunate enough to fall into the ludus

Rehabilitation devices are an essential part of the medical industry as they serve the purpose of
returning a person to his/her original flexibility or movement. Conventional rehabilitation exercises
utilise rigid and heavy robotic devices that are limited to the clinical setting. Soft robotics deals with
constructing robots from highly compliant materials, similar to those found in living organisms. In
contrast to robots built from rigid materials, soft robots allow for increased flexibility and adaptability
for accomplishing tasks, as well as improved safety when working around humans. This paper

However, designing molds of different soft elastomeric actuators can be costly in industrial
manufacturing. For elastomeric actuators, some work is also converted to elastic energy in these
actuators, which is wasted as it does not contribute to movement or force generation. Therefore, these
actuators may require high input pressures for their operations. Previous research with flexible
thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) coated fabric [11] has shown that it is a more suitable material due
to their flexible but inextensible characteristics. Hence, when actuators are activated, the efficiency of
fluid power transmission is increased, thereby requiring a lower pressure for operation. Furthermore,
the cost of manufacturing is significantly lower than 3D printing. As a result, we have chosen to
continue working with the TPU coated nylon fabric, which is more durable than other materials
available. In this paper, we have adapted an actuator design originally used for flexing and extending
the fingers for use with the wrist. In the following sections, the paper covers the design of a fully
fabric based soft robotic wrist rehabilitation device for patients who have suffered from wrist injuries
and/or underwent wrist surgeries. This study aims to

Receiving pleasure from a crime can be a sexual gratification, monetary rewards that make one happy,

involved in the crime, then the offender is more likely to keep committing a crime whereas if someone

Second, by going public, Facebook can raise funds from a broader base of investors. With much
money, the company can have enough resources to develop new products and invest in their business,
which make the company become more competitive. Meanwhile, it s a good opportunity for the
shareholders to gain the best possible value for their own stakes in a long term. Third, for the further
development, Facebook raises its reputation and amplifies its brand value. More people get to know
the company and join in the Facebook. That is to say, Facebook attracts more users and expands the
market share. (2) According to the case, proceeds from the offering will be used for working capital

The Importance Of Literacy In Education
In contemporary society, advancement in technology has made it imperative that individuals have
proficient literacy and numeracy skills in order to participate in society and contribute economically
(Cazden Beck, 2008; Shanahan Shanahan, 2008). Furthermore, low literacy rates correlate to
unhealthy lifestyle and limited participation in civic life (DeWalt et al., 2004; Shanahan Shanahan,
2008). Thus, it has become even more important that schools prepare students with adequate literacy
and numeracy skills to enable them to succeed in life and progress in their studies. However, these
demands are not necessarily being met by schools. According to Australian bureau of statistics (ABS)
(2014) there has been a decline in the literacy rates for adults, with 44% of adults lacking the literacy
competency required for modern life. Furthermore, evidence suggests that school curriculum and
practices do not accommodate for linguistic diversity. PISA has gathered results from 15 years old
students in the areas of science literacy, mathematical literacy and reading literacy, which are
summarised in table 1 below (Thomas, Bortoli Underwood, 2017).
Australia is a multicultural country, with a great deal of linguistic diversity. Many students in schools
have English as an additional language or dialect other than English(EAL/D), this includes students
who are born overseas or in Australia whose first language is not English and Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander students whose

Duchess Of Malfi As A Revenge Tragedy Analysis
Sr. Deena David

Webster s Duchess of Malfi as a Revenge Tragedy
A revenge tragedy is one in which the tragedy is brought about by the pursuit and accomplishment of
revenge. In other words, its blood asking for blood. The revenge tragedy was very popular during the
Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, and it owned its popularity largely to the influence of Seneca, the
ancient Roman dramatist. Revenge tragedy is different from other tragedies in the sense that the whole
part of the tragedy will be based on revenge. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, though Macduff kills
Macbeth to avenge the killing of his family, the play can t be called a revenge tragedy as Macbeth
himself is responsible for his own tragic end. The Duchess of Malfi by the English dramatist John ...

There is no ghost but the echo from the Duchess tomb fulfils one of the functions of the ghost of
revenge tragedy. The voice warns a doomed man of his danger and, at the same time, reveals the
unknown fact of its own death. The play is sometimes ridiculed by modern critics for the excessive
violence and horror. The severed hands of dead Antonio, the wax figures of the Duchess children,
dance of the mad men, the appearance of the tomb maker, and the executioner with all the apparatus of
death bring in the elements of horror in the play. In a typical revenge play, the protagonist directs his
revenge towards an unjust action, but the vengeance is followed by a series of retributions, which
ultimately lead to the death of many characters. The Duchess, Anotonio, Cardinal, Ferdinand, Julia,
Bosola etc are all murdered for revenge. Though it begins as a love story it ends as a dreadful tragedy.
The violence and the horror scenes give it the touch it needs to be a revenge tragedy. Though all the
main characters are dead order is restored at the end. The Antonio s eldest son is raised to the throne
giving a sign of hope to the spectators after all the

Philip J. Cooper v. Charles Austin 837 S. W. 2d 606 (Tenn. Ct. App. 1992)
Parties:
* Phillip J. Cooper, Plaintiff Appellant, Administrator * Charles Austin, Defendant Appellant * Alois
B. Greer, Proponent of the codicil
Facts:
* This is a will contest case involving a codicil to the Last Will and Testament of Wheelock A. Bisson,
M.D., deceased. * Dr. Bisson s will, which is not contested, was executed June 18, 1982.
Prior Proceedings: * Dr. Bisson died in 1985, and shortly thereafter Greer filed a petition in probate
court to admit the June 18, 1982, will and two codicils thereto dated August 20, 1984, and August 6,

Greer, had not met her burden of proof pursuant to T.C.A. § 32 1 104, regarding the manner in which a
will must be executed. * The trial court granted Austin s motion and directed a verdict on the grounds
that Ms. Greer had not proved the proper execution of the codicil. * Accordingly, judgment was
entered declaring that the last will and testament of Wheelock A. Bisson dated June 18, 1982, be
admitted to probate without any codicils.
Issue:
1. The first issue is whether the trial court erred in denying Greer s motion for summary judgment on
the grounds that Mr. Austin s will contest was barred by T.C.A. § 32 4 108 (Supp. 1991). 2. The
second issue for review is whether the trial court erred in directing a verdict for the contestant Austin
by refusing to allow the 1984 codicil to be submitted to the jury.
Holding:
The rule for determining a motion for directed verdict requires the trial judge and the reviewing court
on appeal to look to all of the evidence, taking the strongest legitimate view of it in favor of the
opponent of the motion and allowing all reasonable inferences from it in his favor. The court must
discard all countervailing evidence, and if there is then any dispute as to any material determinative
evidence or any doubt as to the conclusion to be drawn from the whole evidence, the motion must be
denied. Tennessee Farmers Mut.

Charities-Trust Essay
The legal definition of charity has historically been somewhat elusive and stands distinct from any
understanding of charity in a general or popular sense. As Lord Wright observed, in its legal sense the
word charitable is a word of art, of precise and technical meaning [1]. Viscount Simmonds further
remarked that, no comprehensive definition of legal charity has been given either by legislature or in
judicial utterance, there is no limit to the number and diversity of ways in which man will seek to
benefit his fellow men [2]. The Preamble to the Charitable Uses Act 1601, also referred to as the
Statute of Elizabeth I, contained a list of purposes which were then regarded as charitable. It assumed
a central role for the courts as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a general proposition, for its advancement to be capable of being charitable in this context, a
religion should have a certain level of cogency, seriousness, coherence and importance[9]. Also, in
order to be charitable for the advancement of religion, the content of any system of faith and worship
has to be of a positive nature, impacting beneficially on the community. Sir John Wickens, V C., in
Cocks v Manners[10] observed: It is said, in some of the cases, that religious purposes are charitable,
but that can only be true as to religious services tending directly or indirectly towards the instruction
or the edification of the public... Hence, to be charitable a religious purpose has to be serious, tend
directly or indirectly to the moral and spiritual improvement of the public as well as being for the
public benefit.
In Holmes v Attorney General[11] Walton J commented: ... It is not for the benefit of the adherents of
the religion themselves that the law confers charitable status, it is in the interests of the public. Hence,
as a general proposition, in the case of charities for the advancement of religion the purpose must not
simply be for the benefit of the followers of the particular religion. Formerly, the proposition stated
that as between different religions the law stands neutral, but it assumes that any religion is at least
likely to be better than none [12]. Plowman J in Re Watson[13] considered a

Dr Jekyll And Hyde In The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And...
Every human being consists of qualities that form to either their good or bad side. No one is purely
good or evil. To try to fit in society, people are willing to do whatever it takes to hide any
characteristics that might fall short of the social norm. In Robert Louis Stevenson s novella, The
Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the characters demonstrate how every human being consists
of both qualities and how people suppress the qualities that are undesired by society in order to fit in.
However, after a while people can no longer stand to hide part of who they are which leads people to
substance use to take away their conscience in order to show their dark side.

People would rather be miserable and pretend to be someone else, than risk judged for who they really
are. In the novella, Stevenson uses Dr. Jekyll s experiment to show how far people are willing to go to
be freed from judgment of society. Dr. Jekyll conducted an experiment that split his personality into
two people, the good and evil side of him. Dr. Jekyll knew he was risking his life before he started but
he thought it would be worth it to get to be the other side of him for once. I hesitated long before I put
this theory to the test of practice. I knew well that I risked death. (57) Dr. Jekyll was willing to risk
everything to experience his other side. When Dr. Jekyll drank his chemical solution, he transformed
into Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde was completely free to be evil without his conscience telling him it was
wrong. No one really knew who Mr. Hyde was so he had no reason to fear judgment from others. He
was completely free to act as himself. This relates to the real world in that people use drugs and
alcohol to transform into their dark side. When using drugs or drinking alcohol, your body loses all
control over your consciousness. The substances are more powerful and led people to do things they
would normally not even think they are capable of and might regret when experiencing withdrawal of

Gender Roles In Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window
Alfred Hitchcock s, Rear Window (1954), is ultimately a film presenting the ideas of a natural
voyeuristic nature within society and how the concepts of the traditional gender roles for males of

who s active and adventurous life gets turned around when he is confined to a wheelchair in his small
apartment for six weeks. During these weeks he s found himself occupied by watching out his window

The main female role, Lisa Carol Freemont shows this by being a more active and adventurous role
rather than being the passive, boring role most women seem to portray, including Mrs Thorwald. The
film shows the main character, Jeff, as been limited to sitting in a wheelchair out the front of his rear
window, whilst he does this, he makes up wild opinions about his neighbour and decides that he s
guilty of murder. To try prove this whilst restricted to a wheelchair is difficult, so he remains in the
observing role while the female roles such as Lisa and Stella step in, take charge, and conduct all the
adventurous tasks to try prove Jeffries theory, being participants in the investigation, something
women were not portrayed as back in the 1950 s. Stella and Lisa were very productive and even broke
into the suspected murderers house and got caught, just to find evidence, all the while, Jeff was
perched by his window just watching and observing the women doing all the dangerous action. Back
in the 50 s, women s roles had only just been seen as also participative rather than just passive, Rear
Window challenged this further when they also immobilized the main male lead, Jeff, and instead
focused most of the attention on the womens role in the movie. With Jeff making comments such as

Prenatal Care and Preterm Births Essay
Prenatal Care and Preterm Births
In the last 20 years the hopes of survival for neonates have seen significant increase, almost all of the
causes of perinatal mortality and morbidity have decreased. There is only one threat unmoved, still
standing above the rest Preterm birth. Prematurity or preterm birth is defined as the birth of any child
between 20 37 weeks of gestation. Delivery prior to 20 weeks of gestation is considered a Natural
abortion.1 The survival rate of low birth weight infants has significantly increased from 15 80% in the
last 20 years. However, the incidence of prematurity has not seen any change, neither decrease nor
increase. Currently the average incidence is 10 11%.1

The main reason that the incidence has remained static is that there has been no clear definition of the
chain of events that result in pre term birth. Without an understanding of how it happens, there can be
no way of stopping the process, and further, of stopping the process once it has begun being that there
is no way of knowing exactly at what stage it is. There has recently been a strong theory proposed
which needs to be given more attention, the prostaglandin theory. Briefly, pro inflammatory cytokines
and other immunomodulatory proteins produced by either overt or sub clinical infection stimulate
prostaglandin synthesis and release. This ultimately induces the synthesis and release of
metalloproteases, which bring on cervical ripening and membrane weakening and rupture. 4 The
increased survival rate with a static incidence means that there are more people with problems in
society, more NICU s being filled, more families are having to learn to live with someone that is
handicapped, more problems arise with health care funding as more people have chronic health
problems, and with a little creativity and a careful eye, the rest of this paper could be a list of the
problems that are arising. Some known morbidities of preterm birth include Cerebral Palsy, ADHD,
growth retardation, respiratory distress syndrom, decreased cognitive ability, decreased academic

Human Performance And Commercial Aircraft Accidents
Human error has been acknowledged as a main contributor to more than 70 percent of commercial and
private aircraft accidents. While characteristically connected with flight procedures, human error has
also recently become a main concern in maintenance practices and air traffic management. Human
factors specialists work with engineers, pilots, and mechanics to apply the latest information about the
interface between human performance and commercial aircraft to help operators develop safety and
efficiency in their daily operations.
About 80 percent of maintenance errors comprise of human factors, according to the Federal Aviation
Administration. The maintenance realm has exceptional human factors matters that are more severe
and longer lasting than elsewhere in aviation. Operators are considering numerous procedures to
combat human factors challenges.
Human factors are endless catchphrases in maintenance operations. Although human factors
maintenance training is not strictly required in the U.S., many U.S. maintenance organizations have
accepted it because they see regulation in the near future, want to conform to the regulations
elsewhere or merely accept the business example.
Why are human conditions, such as fatigue, complacency and distraction, so important? As one expert
put it, if you scratch the surface of a maintenance incident, you re likely to find human factors
concerns. About 80 percent of maintenance mistakes involve human factors, according to Bill

Essay On Drug Prices
In recent years, rising drug prices in the United States raises have impacted patient access to
medications, including potentially life saving medications. It has become extremely difficult for
patient to receive medications. The blame is being shifted from insurers, drug manufactures, and the
government. Insurers are protesting that specialty drug costs are forcing them to jack up premiums.
State Medicaid directors say spiking pharmacy costs are coercing them to make unfortunate coverage

She said that Mount Sinai was continuing to use the drug, but each use now required a special review.
Unfortunately, the patients that needed this drug suffered from the malpractice of the drug company,
which consequently led to public outrage. Another example of company malpractice was of Mylan
raising the price of the EpiPen. Mylan Pharmaceuticals increased the price of the EpiPen from $100 in
2009 to $608 in 2016. The EpiPen is a life saving drug that many young children use in times of dire
need so the $500 price increase felt morally unethical to consumers. Consumers interpreted the
increase as a manufacturer profiteering off a person s life or death needs. Mylan then justified the
prince increase because they said they had competition from Sanofi but Sanofi dropped out of the
market not soon after and the price still increased from Mylan. In conclusion, drug manufacturers
definitely hold on to some blame of the recent prescription drug price spike. Arguably, the government
and insurance companies have the ability to work with companies to streamline certain processes and
decrease costs and prices. Medicare Part D is large enough and with enough money coming in that
they can bargain and negotiate drug prices with manufacturers. This solution would decrease the
average costs of most prescriptions for senior citizens and the disabled and would say the Medicare
system between $230 billion to $541 billion. However, some

Augustus- Absolute Power By Any Means Necessary
With the death of Julius Caesar, Augustus became the leader of Julius great conquests, resources, and
soldiers. Immense power was his to seize. However, the power came at a cost. At the forefront of his
attention, Julius killers were still loose, sewing seeds of violent oppression to this authority. Combined
with this constant fear of revolt, the propaganda of Marc Antony and others further challenged his
right to rule. Therefore, for Augustus to command the absolute power bestowed upon him, he must
eliminate any threats by any means necessary. This took the form of massacre. The justification for
Augusts campaign against any threat came from propaganda spread against him and its potential to
undermine his rule. One of the primary methods of belittlement came in the form of slander against
his family name. No individual utilized this tactic more cunningly than Marc Antony. The first rumors
targeted the social position of his ancestors. Antony claimed Augustus paternal great grandfather was
only a freeman and his grandfather a money changer. On the maternal side, Antony publically spread

Nursing Assistant Is The Basic Quality Of Life Needs For...
A Nursing assistant fulfills the basic quality of life needs for patients of any age in residential nursing
care facilities or outpatient centers. Responsibilities of a CNA vary based on employment. CNAs can
be employed in many different settings, such as nursing homes, hospitals, personal homes or
anywhere else personal care is needed. Nursing Assistants act as helpful link between nurse and the
patient. In many cases, the nursing assistant is the eyes and ears for the nurse, relaying information
between nurse and many patients. Becoming a CNA is a serious and tedious job. To obtain a Certified
Nursing Assistant licenses the student must complete class, lab and clinical time in a course that can
endure between six to twelve months.
There are many steps to obtaining a CNA license. Finding a school, completing the course, applying
for the licenses, and passing the state boards are all critical steps in becoming a Certified Nursing

The Power Of The Nazi Party
Carl Schmitt argues that the role of myth plays an essential role in politics and that nationalism, in any
confrontation, will win over socialism. Schmitt s argument can be used to justify the events that
occurred in Germany during the late 20s and early 30s. However, even though nationalism did play a
key role in post hyperinflation Germany, it is far too simplistic to say that the only motive of such
events was nationalism. Events like the Beer hall putsch or the growth and success of the Nazi party
were not solely because of nationalism. There were other factors that contributed to these events such
as the fact that Germany was in a terrible situation to begin with. Germany was in chaos after WW1,
and when the Great Depression followed, unemployment, inflation and food shortage increased even
more. Such events led to the growth of the Nazi party as Germans felt like Hitler represented what
many of them felt hatred of the republic. The Nazi party rose significatively because of their usage of
propaganda, their anti Semitism, their violence, their hatred of the Weimar republic and also because
of opportunism.
One way the Nazi party grew immensely was through their usage of propaganda. With such
propaganda, the Nazi intended to appeal their audiences with what they wanted to hear. Their
propaganda had a lot to do with their electoral success in 1930 since it was planned accordingly to
their audience, which mostly directed to workers. According to Richard J. Evans, in

Problems Faced By Globalization And Technological Advances
Globalisation and technological advances are pushing the managers to solve problems relating to the
functionality of the organisation. Owing to the several different and uncertain consequences associated
with the possible problem solving actions, it is critical for the manager to choose an effective
methodology, whilst considering the structure and dynamics of the organisation (Fischer, Greiff, and
Funke, 2012). From a managerial point of view, taking a decision to solve problems is not an easy
task. The problem solving process in organisations is often led by uncertainty and vagueness,
combined with the managers difficulties in developing an appropriate problem definition, inadequate
method selection or application, lack of knowledge, or various other internal and external factors
(Szarucki, 2013). With the fast paced work culture, managers tend to ignore minor problems which
might later have a serious adverse effect on the organisation. Based on the suggestions made by
Nickerson, Yen, and Mahoney (2011) for effective problem solving, the first step I would take towards
solving an organisational problem, is to accept the fact that the problem exists. My next target would
be adopting an effective methodology to go about the problem solving process. Current research in the
problem solving techniques points towards a 4 step process, as being effective. Based on the research
carried out by Szarucki (2013) and Hunsaker and Alessandra (2008), I would adopt this 4 phase
process,

Florida Panthers Draft Review
2015 NHL Draft: Florida Panthers Draft Review The Florida Panthers are on the verge of an identity
crisis after missing the playoffs again for the 13th time in 14 seasons. For a fanbase that has only seen
the playoffs four times since the team s inception in 1993, General Manager Dale Tallon is facing a
critical turning point for the franchise. The Panthers have young talent like Aaron Ekblad, Jonathan
Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov, among others but they haven t been able to gain traction thanks to
questionable decision making from the front office. The Panthers have stockpiled prospects and are
starting to reap the rewards of their patience, and the 2015 NHL Entry Draft was a critical time as the
team played host for the event. Tallon has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think it really worked out for me, and something that took a lot of thought especially after playing
forward for so long, Schemitsch said. I think in the long run it was the right decision. The night
leading up to the NHL Entry Draft was filled with nervous anticipation for Schemitsch, who relied
upon advice from his brother Geoffrey, a veteran of over 200 games in the OHL. I was pretty nervous,
the Thornhill, ON native said of the process. Just thinking about it a lot at night and eventually fell
asleep. My brother has always been there for me, gave me tips on how to handle things and gave me
advice to just enjoy it. The Panthers will certainly enjoy having him on board, as he put together a 14
goal and 35 assist season, an improvement of 32 points from his rookie season. Those totals were
good for ninth overall in OHL scoring by defensemen, meaning the Panthers are getting a player who
is just beginning to realize his potential. As a player that compares himself to Brent Seabrook, the
Panthers will be pleased if Schemitsch turns out to be anything like the player he models his game

Chloroplast Research Paper
INTRODUCTION
Eukaryotic organelles are very crucial to the function of living organism. Organelles such as the
nucleus, mitochondria and chloroplast are named to the most important and valuable. The cell nucleus
is a double membrane‐bound organelle that contains the hereditary data of the cell bundled as
chromatin. The nucleus is a trademark highlight of most eukaryotic cells. (Wiley,2017) Eukaryotic
cells are unique and important as it consists of a variety of different organelles. These organelles are:
mitochondria, chloroplasts, the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi apparatus, and lysosomes. The
specific organelles that have been mentioned are significant as they have their own job to function a
cell. (Eukaryotic Cells | Learn Science at Scitable, 2017)

They include chlorophyll which is needed to be able to make the colour of the plants green.
(Chloroplast: Definition, Structure, Function Examples Video Lesson Transcript | Study.com, 2017)
Chloroplasts are commonly known for their job of being the food producers of the cell. (Studios,
2017) They are only found in plant cells and some eukaryotic organism.
Function: The chloroplast turn the sugars that are used by the cells from the light energy of the sun.
This procedure is known commonly as photosynthesis; this is important as it relies on the chlorophyll
molecules in each chloroplast. (Studios, 2017)
Importance: Chloroplasts are the majority of the world s nourishment and fuel and oxygen supply, and
all things considered life on Earth relies on upon them. They are an important part of every single
photosynthetic cell in plants and algae. Chloroplasts are important because they are the site of
photosynthesis, from the absorption of light by chlorophyll through to the production of the primary
basic sugars. (K. Tobin, 2017)

The Murder Of Innocent Civilians
America has always been depicted as an amiable place to live in. Generally, foreigners would picture
America as the perfect place to raise a family and lead a joyous life. In their mind, the idea of the
perfect fifties family household still holds true. Nevertheless, this image was quickly shattered, as the
adverse and hostile environment that surrounded them proved to be more difficult than imagined. One
of the biggest mistakes that they failed to recognize was the atrocious, random, murder of innocent
civilians. These murders were frequently published on the front page of every major newspaper, which
led to the development of an insatiable interest in the demise of others. This is true in the nineteenth
and, more predominately, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leopold is described as a highly skilled scholar, but is a social recluse due to his hormonal
abnormalities. Loeb, on the other hand, is handsome and societal. Nevertheless, he possesses a sinister
side, his love for the life of crime. The film revolves around four main characters, Brandon Shaw,
Phillip Morgan, Rupert Cadell, and the victim, David Kentley. Brandon and Phillip pertain to New
York s elite class and are intelligent, sophisticated men. Rupert, being a philosopher of sorts, instills
the idea of Friedrich Nietzsche s ĂŒbermensch upon Brandon and Phillip. Thus, this drives them to kill
their former classmate, David. While Hitchcock explains the philosophical motive of the murder,
author Miriam Allen deFord in her work, Superman s Crime: Loeb and Leopold, depicts Leopold and
Loeb as criminal masterminds and illustrates their heinous act as well as specific details of their trial.
She rarely includes any details regarding the mindset of the two teenagers as well as the ethics behind
their murder. Whereas the true crime article, written by deFord, focuses more on the actions
committed by the perpetrators, the Hitchcock focuses on the psychological aspects of each character
and the philosophy behind the killing. As such, the film surpasses the article on almost every level.
Throughout Hitchcock s film, the philosophical idea of Übermensch is prevalent and openly discussed
by the characters. This controversial theory

Ways in Which the Culture Influences the International...
1. Introduction
International marketing or business is uniquely different from the local market because the product
price, place and promotion is vastly different from what is been offered to local customers (Johansson,
2000) With the emergence of the information technology, cross border marketing has never been a
distant dream. However, it has never been easier even for giant multinational companies to face
challenges that come in international business. The biggest challenge comes from the culture which
varies from country to country.
At its basic understanding, international marketing engages the firm in making one or more marketing
mix decisions across national boundaries. At its complex level, it involves the firm in establishing ...

Similarly, in any country whether they are Muslim or non Muslim state, when there are Muslim in the
community they have to cater with halal certified meet as well chicken. Therefore, this cultural factor
has major influence on KFC, McDonalds, as well as Pizza Hut or for that matter all companies who
are involved in restaurant and food sector. Hotel chains in Saudi Arabia are been influenced by the
culture of the society and the country. For instance, Hilton hotel chains in Saudi Arabia and close to
the Mecca and Medina serves mostly to pilgrims rather than the tourist. Hence all activities in Hilton
chain needs to be catered to religious cultural activities (Fallon, 2010).
2. Adaptation and standardization
It was in the Fordism era in the early 19th century where standardization was the most widely used
strategy across the industrialized countries (Johansson, 2000). Henry Ford when he manufactured
Ford Car, the company produced only black Ford. Standardization refers a company providing the
same identical product across the globe (Keegon, 2002). Most of the time they are considered to be
global brands (Johanson, 2000). Some of the example that could be considered global brands is Coca
Cola, McDonalds or Amazon. However, they too have some degree of adaptation in taste or price
when it comes to marketing in a different market. According to Carl Ritzer (2007) in its journal on
Mcdonaldization of society, he found out that in the

Longboarding
Longboarding is an offshoot of street skating, but, like all board sports, its roots lie in surfing.
Developed as a single sport on the west coast in the 1950s, by the 1990s, Longboards and Skateboards
branched off into their respective disciplines. With the right setup, a longboard can give the feeling of
surfing on hard smooth surfaces. There are a variety of riding styles: downhill, cruising and carving,
slalom, dancing, freeriding, vert and sliding.[citation needed]
A longboard generally can be as short or as long as the rider desires; the most popular range is about
36 to 60 inches. As well as being usually longer than a standard skateboard, longboards may also be
equipped with larger, softer wheels which afford a smoother ride. ... Show more content on

Wider trucks with lower pivot angles (to increase stability at the expense of turning capability) may be
used as well as axle bearings that rotate independently of wheel bearings to further increase top speed.
(Note; this theory is disputed and many people believe that axle bearings are not beneficial to speed,
but are beneficial in the rare case of bearing failure[citation needed]). A new type of downhill truck
was invented by Jim Ziemlanski of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada that incorporates the use of
a spherical bearing on the kingpin which allows the hanger to pivot on a precise axis without any of
the slop caused by bushings compressing under the weight of the rider. Downhill longboarders
sometimes use leather suits and streamlined helmets to protect themselves as well as reduce
aerodynamic drag.
Variations of setups include:
Drop Decks are characterized by a riding platform that is lower than the mounting point of the trucks.
This configuration is more stable (less susceptible to wobbling) and easier to control during a slide,
but sacrifices traction and turning capabilities due to the board s lowered center of gravity and
decreased leverage over the trucks. Examples of this style of board include: Landyachtz DH Race,
Landyachtz Switch, and the Rayne Nemesis.
Drop through Decks have holes machined between the truck mounting hardware so that the baseplate
can be mounted to the top of the board. This is probably the most popular method of

  • 3. The Absence Of Effective Birth Control Essay INTRODUCTON The absence of effective birth control led women to resort to abortion between 1900 and 1940. Up until the arrival of the contraceptive pill in the early 1960 s, New Zealand, predominantly women, but also men struggled to acquire effective and reliable birth control. There were many reasons why birth control was limited and frowned upon in New Zealand for over half of the twentieth century, including, religion, the social expectation of women, and the desire for a large population in New Zealand. Many women advocated for the introduction of an effective form of birth control in New Zealand for a number of years before becoming successful in 1961. The women s main argument during their fight for contraception availability in New Zealand, was that abortion would be rare if the introduction of a reliable contraceptive method were to happen. In this essay, I will argue that the absence of effective birth control led women to resort to abortion between 1900 and 1940 by first analysing the attitudes of society during this era, particularly towards women and contraception, I will then examine the methods women were resorting to in order to prevent pregnancy, finally, I will discuss the regular occurrence of abortions during the first half of the twentieth century and how birth control lays a factor in this. Concluding with, the absence of effective birth control did in fact lead women to resort to abortion from 1900 to 1940. NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY BETWEEN 1900 AND 1940 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Twilight Moms, By Stephenie Meyer s Twilight Books And... Living in the United States in 2016, one is familiar with the fandom spurred from Stephenie Meyer s Twilight books and the subsequent Twilight movies. Twilight Moms, a controversial sector of the fandom composed of adult female fans, have garnered attention in recent years. One of the most well known photographs of Twilight Moms captures the fans emotions at a 2009 Twilight Event (Buckner). However, what strikes viewers most is not the emotions of the women, but rather their age; the subjects of the image are not tweens and teens, but adult women. The visual rhetoric argues that Twilight s appeal is not exclusive to young adults; it also encompasses older women. The media claims that Twilight Moms are anti feminist women who refuse to grow up. However, the media s biased accusations are simply not true. In all reality, Twilight Moms are a group of women that relate to Twilight s protagonist and seek bonding experiences with their daughters as well as an escape from the monotony of everyday life. So what exactly constitutes a Twilight Mom? The term Twilight Moms was first coined in December of 2007 when Lisa Hansen launched the Twilight Moms MySpace page (Brodesser akner). According to Hansen, she originally created Twilight Moms for married women and mothers; however, that definition has since changed (Hare). This recurring message was often ignored by us as well as passengers who were occupied with other things or had earphones in. Another reason the majority are not in readiness of an emergency situation is because, as Dennis Mileti stated, Individuals underperceive risk (Ripley 43). As a person who has been studying ways to warn people of disasters for over 30 years, Mileti believes that we tend to discount low probability, high consequence events. When we think of a disaster, the routine thought is to assume that the probability is so low that it could never possibly happen to us. Not this plane ride, not this drive, not this time is what we tell ourselves, making us doubt the high risk situation. In Chapter 2 of Ripley s book, she recounts an interview that she did with the daughter of a man who underestimated the power of Hurricane Katrina. The 85 year old man, Patrick Turner, had survived the past two hurricanes that hit Louisiana before Katrina did (Ripley 24). When he heard of the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, he did not take it as serious as he should have because the warnings the government gave about this tsunami were the same as the last two and the last two hurricanes ended up not being that bad. The employee does not have a lot of responsibility because he or she does not have to put the money into the retirement account on his or her own; the employer does it directly. While this is helpful to the employee, the employer gets to deduct the contributions that they make into the fund from their taxes creating an incentive for them (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). SEP accounts have reasonable fees; they re not over the top. The disadvantages are contributions and no guarantees (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). The bad thing about contributions is that the employee does not get a say on how much they want to deposit into their SEP account; the employer decides for them. The last thing that is a con is that there could be no requirements for contributions; they employer can pick and chose when they want to make a contribution to the employees account (Simplified Employee Pension Plans Pros and Cons). The SEP IRA is good for employees who do not want the responsibility for putting money into their retirement account. Conventional rehabilitation exercises utilise rigid and heavy robotic devices that are limited to the clinical setting. Soft robotics deals with constructing robots from highly compliant materials, similar to those found in living organisms. In contrast to robots built from rigid materials, soft robots allow for increased flexibility and adaptability for accomplishing tasks, as well as improved safety when working around humans. However, designing molds of different soft elastomeric actuators can be costly in industrial manufacturing. For elastomeric actuators, some work is also converted to elastic energy in these actuators, which is wasted as it does not contribute to movement or force generation. Therefore, these actuators may require high input pressures for their operations. Previous research with flexible thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) coated fabric [11] has shown that it is a more suitable material due to their flexible but inextensible characteristics. Hence, when actuators are activated, the efficiency of fluid power transmission is increased, thereby requiring a lower pressure for operation. Furthermore, the cost of manufacturing is significantly lower than 3D printing. As a result, we have chosen to continue working with the TPU coated nylon fabric, which is more durable than other materials available. In this paper, we have adapted an actuator design originally used for flexing and extending the fingers for use with the wrist. In the following sections, the paper covers the design of a fully fabric based soft robotic wrist rehabilitation device for patients who have suffered from wrist injuries and/or underwent wrist surgeries. Medicare Part D is large enough and with enough money coming in that they can bargain and negotiate drug prices with manufacturers. This solution would decrease the average costs of most prescriptions for senior citizens and the disabled and would say the Medicare system between $230 billion to $541 billion. However, some ... Genetic Disorders in Twins Essay Twin studies have been used to distinguish between genetic and environmental factors for many disorders in the general population including ectodermal dysplasia, Ellis van Creveld, and anencephaly. This review focuses on genetic disorders affecting monozygotic, dizygotic, and conjoined twins to gain a better understanding of them. Many studies focus on twins because they have a nearly identical genome, which eliminates environmental factors. In case studies, the concordance rates in monozygotic twins have supported that certain disorders were caused by genetics and not the environment. The discordant values in twins will also be evaluated briefly. Twinning studies have also shown linkages between specific disorders and the genes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently, research as attempted to find the possible cause of twinning, which may allow individuals the ability to have twins at will. If the cause of twinning was discovered than women may have the ability to decide if they want to have twins One of the earliest accounts of conjoined twins include the Thai brothers, Chang and Eng Bunker. These two individuals are famous for traveling with the P.T. Barnum circus and were known by many as the Siamese twins. From these two individuals came the coining of the term Siamese. In this present paper, various genetic disorders in monozygotic, dizygotic, and conjoined twins will be carefully evaluated and reviewed in order to gain a better insight on the complexity of twinning. In order to clearly understand the formation of twins, the foundational knowledge of twinning must be analyzed. Beginning with the three common types of twins, including monozygotic (identical), dizygotic (fraternal), and conjoined (Siamese). Monozygotic twins occur from the division of one fertilized zygote (source*). Dizygotic twins occur from the fertilization of two different zygotes by two separate sperm (source*). • 37. Augustus- Absolute Power By Any Means Necessary With the death of Julius Caesar, Augustus became the leader of Julius great conquests, resources, and soldiers. Immense power was his to seize. However, the power came at a cost. At the forefront of his attention, Julius killers were still loose, sewing seeds of violent oppression to this authority. Combined with this constant fear of revolt, the propaganda of Marc Antony and others further challenged his right to rule. Therefore, for Augustus to command the absolute power bestowed upon him, he must eliminate any threats by any means necessary. This took the form of massacre. The justification for Augusts campaign against any threat came from propaganda spread against him and its potential to undermine his rule. One of the primary methods of belittlement came in the form of slander against his family name. No individual utilized this tactic more cunningly than Marc Antony. The first rumors targeted the social position of his ancestors. Antony claimed Augustus paternal great grandfather was only a freeman and his grandfather a money changer. On the maternal side, Antony publically spread Augusts maternal great grandfather was a baker from Africa. Even though Suetonius dismisses the Antony s rumor of money changing, many Romans followed Antony s strategy of humiliation (including Cassius Parmensis). By undermining his family ties, Antony could unsettle the legitimacy behind his rule. Since social position determined the cursus honorum, a successful tarnish could ... • 39. The Power Of The Nazi Party Carl Schmitt argues that the role of myth plays an essential role in politics and that nationalism, in any confrontation, will win over socialism. Schmitt s argument can be used to justify the events that occurred in Germany during the late 20s and early 30s. However, even though nationalism did play a key role in post hyperinflation Germany, it is far too simplistic to say that the only motive of such events was nationalism. Events like the Beer hall putsch or the growth and success of the Nazi party were not solely because of nationalism. There were other factors that contributed to these events such as the fact that Germany was in a terrible situation to begin with. Germany was in chaos after WW1, and when the Great Depression followed, unemployment, inflation and food shortage increased even more. Such events led to the growth of the Nazi party as Germans felt like Hitler represented what many of them felt hatred of the republic. The Nazi party rose significatively because of their usage of propaganda, their anti Semitism, their violence, their hatred of the Weimar republic and also because of opportunism. One way the Nazi party grew immensely was through their usage of propaganda. With such propaganda, the Nazi intended to appeal their audiences with what they wanted to hear. Their propaganda had a lot to do with their electoral success in 1930 since it was planned accordingly to their audience, which mostly directed to workers. According to Richard J. Evans, in ... • 41. Problems Faced By Globalization And Technological Advances Globalisation and technological advances are pushing the managers to solve problems relating to the functionality of the organisation. Owing to the several different and uncertain consequences associated with the possible problem solving actions, it is critical for the manager to choose an effective methodology, whilst considering the structure and dynamics of the organisation (Fischer, Greiff, and Funke, 2012). From a managerial point of view, taking a decision to solve problems is not an easy task. The problem solving process in organisations is often led by uncertainty and vagueness, combined with the managers difficulties in developing an appropriate problem definition, inadequate method selection or application, lack of knowledge, or various other internal and external factors (Szarucki, 2013). With the fast paced work culture, managers tend to ignore minor problems which might later have a serious adverse effect on the organisation. Based on the suggestions made by Nickerson, Yen, and Mahoney (2011) for effective problem solving, the first step I would take towards solving an organisational problem, is to accept the fact that the problem exists. My next target would be adopting an effective methodology to go about the problem solving process. Current research in the problem solving techniques points towards a 4 step process, as being effective. Based on the research carried out by Szarucki (2013) and Hunsaker and Alessandra (2008), I would adopt this 4 phase process, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nevertheless, he possesses a sinister side, his love for the life of crime. The film revolves around four main characters, Brandon Shaw, Phillip Morgan, Rupert Cadell, and the victim, David Kentley. Brandon and Phillip pertain to New York s elite class and are intelligent, sophisticated men. Rupert, being a philosopher of sorts, instills the idea of Friedrich Nietzsche s ĂŒbermensch upon Brandon and Phillip. Thus, this drives them to kill their former classmate, David. While Hitchcock explains the philosophical motive of the murder, author Miriam Allen deFord in her work, Superman s Crime: Loeb and Leopold, depicts Leopold and Loeb as criminal masterminds and illustrates their heinous act as well as specific details of their trial. She rarely includes any details regarding the mindset of the two teenagers as well as the ethics behind their murder. Whereas the true crime article, written by deFord, focuses more on the actions committed by the perpetrators, the Hitchcock focuses on the psychological aspects of each character and the philosophy behind the killing. However, it has never been easier even for giant multinational companies to face challenges that come in international business. Developed as a single sport on the west coast in the 1950s, by the 1990s, Longboards and Skateboards branched off into their respective disciplines. With the right setup, a longboard can give the feeling of surfing on hard smooth surfaces. There are a variety of riding styles: downhill, cruising and carving, slalom, dancing, freeriding, vert and sliding.[citation needed] A longboard generally can be as short or as long as the rider desires; the most popular range is about 36 to 60 inches. Wider trucks with lower pivot angles (to increase stability at the expense of turning capability) may be used as well as axle bearings that rotate independently of wheel bearings to further increase top speed. (Note; this theory is disputed and many people believe that axle bearings are not beneficial to speed, but are beneficial in the rare case of bearing failure[citation needed]). A new type of downhill truck was invented by Jim Ziemlanski of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada that incorporates the use of a spherical bearing on the kingpin which allows the hanger to pivot on a precise axis without any of the slop caused by bushings compressing under the weight of the rider. Downhill longboarders sometimes use leather suits and streamlined helmets to protect themselves as well as reduce aerodynamic drag. Variations of setups include: Drop Decks are characterized by a riding platform that is lower than the mounting point of the trucks. This configuration is more stable (less susceptible to wobbling) and easier to control during a slide, but sacrifices traction and turning capabilities due to the board s lowered center of gravity and decreased leverage over the trucks. Examples of this style of board include: Landyachtz DH Race, Landyachtz Switch, and the Rayne Nemesis.
