Introduction to Patents and IP Commercialization. These are slides from a talk I gave at Venture Center NCL (National Chemical Laboratory) in Pune, India to a audience of scientists involved in nanotechnology.
This workshop, led by intellectual property expert Michael Kasdan of Wiggin and Dana, will help you evaluate whether you should be taking steps to protect your startup's intellectual property. It covers the different methods for protecting your IP (patents, copyrights, etc.) and provides some specific guidance on how to go about putting IP protections in place.

This is the second presentation in IP North West's seminar on IP law on 12 Oct 2011. This talk was presented by patent agent, Tom Hutchinson, principal of Hutchinson IP. In his talk, Tom considers "What is IP", "Why it is important?", "Types of IP", "Patent Attorneys" and "Tom's Top Tips". Tom is particularly well qualified to talk to FabLab because he researched additive manufacturing technology before he became a patent agent.

SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) invest most of their resources in R&D to produce new technologies. They take higher risks than larger companies, who in contrast focus their R&D efforts on incremental innovations.
Yet, SMEs mostly fail to protect the value they create with patents. When they do, these patents have in general very poor quality and do not adequately protect their core markets. Lastly, SMEs are underserved in terms of legal representation and understandably so: outside law firms tend to find it difficult to work with SMEs, let alone getting paid for their services.
There is a mismatch between the patent value creation potential of SMEs on one hand, and what they actually produce.

1 Maccabees is a deuterocanonical book which details the history of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire as well as the founding and earliest history of the independent Hasmonean kingdom. It describes the promulgation of decrees forbidding traditional Jewish practices by King Antiochus IV Epiphanes and the formation of a rebellion against him by Mattathias of the Hasmonean family and his five sons.
The Prayer of Azariah and the accompanying Song of the Three Young Men form part of chapter three and embellish the story of Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, three young Jewish men who were bound and thrown into a fiery furnace for defying Nebuchadrezzar’s order to worship an idol.

Game-Changers 911: How to Change the Event Management Game in 2020Aggregage

Every Industrial revolution has seen the progression from people dominated design, build and production to a higher degrees of automation that has gone hand-in-hand with shortening timescales enabled by ever-more powerful technologies. However, at a fundamental level the process has remained the same, but it is now edging toward a continuum of evolution as opposed to a series of discrete jumps that often trigger company reorganizations. In concert, there is a realization abroad that it is no longer about the biggest, the strongest, the best, or the fittest, it is now all about the survival of the most adaptable.
By and large it is relatively easy to predict when and where tech change will occur and the likely outcomes, in terms of existing and future products and services, but how people, customers, companies and societies will react is an unsolved puzzle. On another plane, competition and threats may well occur outside the sector, from a direction managers are not looking, by entirely new mechanisms, and at a most critical time. These are all challenges indeed!
How to adapt to, and cope with these collective challenges is the focus of this presentation which is illustrated and supported by past and present industrial cases along with the experiences and methodologies of those who have driven/weathered this storm as well as those who failed. Many of the illustrations are automated and there are exemplar movies and segue inserts throughout.
The narrative of Bel and the Dragon is incorporated as chapter 14 of the extended Book of Daniel. The original Septuagint text in Greek survives in a single manuscript, Codex Chisianus, while the standard text is due to Theodotion, the 2nd-century AD revisor. This chapter, along with chapter 13, is considered deuterocanonical: it was unknown to early Rabbinic Judaism, and while it is considered non-canonical by most Protestants, it is canonical to Eastern Orthodox Christians, and is found in the Apocrypha section of 80 Protestant Bibles.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.
