2. Established the Niitsitaapi Roots Tree Planting Project
 Niitsitaapi Roots is a tree planting project that is dedicated to balancing modern
business practices with Niitsitaapi First Nation cultural values and beliefs in efforts
to fight climate change.
 Taught the youth cultural history to gain understanding of cultural identity and
intergenerational effects on Aboriginal youth and how/why common contemporary
issues arise in Aboriginal communities.
 Taught the youth of the many policies that were enforced on Aboriginal people and
resulted on economic development to be delayed and behind the rest of the
Canadian economy.
 Taught the youth about traditional practices our people follow including always
giving back to the land when you take from it.
 Empowered youth to be proud of who they are and where there from.
