Currently managing West Scotland District consisting of 16 hotels with an annual turnover 0f
14.2 million. Responsible for ensuring the management and their teams deliver effective and
efficient operational standards in a safe environment that is compliant and consistent to our
customers and brand every day.
Successfully managed the district to a company number one ranking position from 35 districts
in 2015 and was subsequently awarded District Manager of The Year. Directionally orchestrated
the district to a number two company ranking in 2013 and number 6 in 2014. Have overseen
several high profile refurbishments during the last two years alongside the new openings of Fort
William, a 60 bedroom hotel and the more recent opening of the flagship hotel for West
Scotland, Glasgow Queen St 171 bedroom bar café hotel.
Engaged with senior stakeholders to form a working party, which I chaired, to plan and
implement a successful execution of operations during the Commonwealth Games and Ryder
Cup events during 2014. Key player with involvement in the implementation of Customer

Achievements in this role included – three years continual sales growth, achieving 7% in 2008,
2.8% in 2009 and 1.7% in 2010. Achieved through proactive management, engagement and

A covering role for maternity leave involving the operational running of 16 stores across Lothian’s,
Edinburgh and Fife. This role allowed me to develop my skills further in retail management with the
opportunity to gain managerial experience of operating a group of stores with some 50 management
staff and over 100 colleagues. Responsible for budget control in key areas including sales, wages and
shrinkage. Audit and compliance, recruitment and development.
August 2004 – December 2006 Store Manager

Accountable for the day-to-day running of a busy destination store with turnover of around
£35 - 40k per week. Working alongside 18-20 team members, duties included cash control,
stock management, warehouse and sales floor standards, training and development and
working to budgets. Recognised as Senior Lead Manager within 12 months and was responsible
for the training and development of new store management recruited within the area /
surrounding areas. As Lead Manager, duties would include deputising for the Area Manager in
their absence.
