The Effect Of Chemical Reactions On The Rate Of Reaction
A chemical reaction is the interaction of two or more chemicals that produces a new chemical
compound, most reactions require an increase in temperature, pressure, surface area, concentration or
the inclusion of a catalysts to speed up the rate of reaction. Chemical reactions can be found in
everyday life, without many of us knowing. Either it be a soluble tablet in water, or photosynthesis in
a plant. The prerequisites for a reaction are known as the Collision Theory . As stated by M. Ferguson
(2016), For a reaction to occur, particles must collide, with sufficient energy (also known as activation
energy) in the correct orientation to break the existing bonds between the particles . There are many
factors that influence the rate of reaction, these include: an increase in, temperature, concentration,
surface area (SA), pressure and a catalyst. When a gas, liquid or solid solution is heated, the molecules
of that particular chemical gain kinetic energy, and thus move faster, allowing for more frequent and
successful collisions. This allows for the product to be formed much faster than if the molecules had
less kinetic energy. If the concentration of a solution has increased, there will be more molecules in
the same volume, which allows for the molecules to collide more frequently. This process speeds up
the rate of reaction more so, than if there were fewer molecules in the same volume. An increase in
surface area of a solid substance allows for an increase in rate of

Scrutinize Government Agencies
I have always found it interesting how harshly people scrutinize public agencies. A majority of the
public believe, to some extent, that the government is not doing enough for them or that government
agencies are inefficient and a waste of their tax dollars. The public claims that they are not seeing
enough improvements based on how much money they are putting into these systems and essentially
feel cheated out of their own hard earned money. I would like to understand what public agencies
must do in order to improve their image and get the American people to confide in them and trust that
their tax dollars are going to good use. The Department of Homeland Security is certainly not my
favorite agency, but I do find it to be one of the most

Art Scandal
A few institutions which have stolen artwork want to redress their wrongdoings. Institutions and
individuals that have looted artwork should return everything they obtained illegally to their original
location. A few prestigious institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the
J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles have agreed to return looted or stolen artwork or antiquities
(Roehrenbeck). Despite their desire to return looted artwork, there are complex issues that make it
quite difficult. One of the issues consists of the debates about what approach should be taken
regarding the country s ownership of cultural property while another issue is how the process should
be approached when it requires cooperation among government, museums, and even artifact dealers
where holes exist in historical records. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2005, a former Getty antiquities curator Marion True was charged with conspiring to traffic in
looted treasures. (Puente) Since this is the first time that an American museum was charged with a
crime for buying art, it has raised questions and concerns that could possibly affect all the other
museums. The Getty got caught when attitudes and laws changed , says Bill Pearlstein, a lawyer from
New York who represents private collectors that do not want to see the end of the antiquities trade.
(Puente) Marion True claims she is not guilty and that she did not know that the members of the J.
Paul Getty museum bought looted artwork, however, after uncovering the fact that she obtained a

Persuasive Essay On Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park, untamed wild beauty. Stunning landscapes, beautiful waterfalls and rivers,
breathtaking wildlife, and geothermal activity all come together to make Yellowstone an amazing
place. People come from all over the world to witness the beauty of Yellowstone. It is a regulated
national park for a reason, it is so amazing, so beautiful, so spectacular to not preserve it. It hosts
bison, elk, deer, bald eagles, bears, moose, beavers, and amazing trout rivers, everything a perfect
mountain ecosystem should hold. However now there is something else, something that is natural, was
removed but has now returned, flourishing and benefiting its surroundings. Wolves, have been
reintroduced into Yellowstone and have greatly benefited the area. These wolves have started a
positive and beneficial renewal in the park. The reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone National
Park is beneficial because they created and natural and beneficial trophic cascade, other animals in the
park benefited from the wolves, and because the land was able to regrow and flourish due to the
wolves presence. Since the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone they have created an astounding
and advantageous trophic cascade. A trophic cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the
addition or removal of top predators and involving reciprocal changes in the relative populations of
predator and prey through a food chain. These often result in dramatic changes in ecosystem structure
and nutrient cycling. In a three level food chain, an increase (or decrease) in carnivores causes a
decrease (or increase) in herbivores and an increase (or decrease) in primary producers such as plants
and phytoplankton according to briticanna (how to make better). The entire ecosystem was able to
become whole again because the wolves, a key species, were reintroduced. Now this may seem weird,
a predator comes into the area a begins to kill animals, how can this be beneficial in any way? Well
the fact of the matter is that it is extremely beneficial. The reason being the problem in Yellowstone
was the overpopulation of the elk. These elk had no predators, they were free to roam and reproduce,
and they did this very well. Now elk are also a

The Sex Trade Still Exists
No one said life would be easy. Every day is filled with trials and tribulations which must be
overcome to get to the next. What we face here in the United States is, as we see it, extreme. We see
homeless people, families struggling to get by, stock market failing, gas prices rising, unemployment
going up, and much more. But elsewhere, their struggles are different. Their obstacles in life are more
challenging than our measly problems in this first world country. The sex trade still exists, slavery
among women and children, trafficking of girls and drugs, and so much more. From the book Sold by
Patricia McCormick comes a story about a girl named Lakshmi and her struggles from the mountains
of Nepal carried to Happiness House where she was sold into the sex trade, and through it all is able to
learn that, simply to endure, is to triumph (16). Lakshmi grew up a poor mountain girl in a village in
Nepal. From an early age she was willing to do whatever it took to get a tin roof for her family. Let me
go to the city. I can work for a rich family...and send my wages home to you (1). Having a tin roof in
their village meant they had some money and they would be safe and dry form the rain. However,
Lakshmi s stepfather gambled away everything he owned and eventually even Lakshmi. Lakshmi
lived and learned in a Patriarchal world. From early on she was taught by Ama, her mother, what her
identity in the world needed to be. ...carry yourself with modesty, bow your

Comparison Between Critical Thinking And Clinical Reasoning
Critical Thinking vs Clinical Reasoning
Critical thinking and clinical reasoning are two terms that are similar in natural and at times have been
used inter changeably throughout nursing literature. However, while there are similarities that can be
observed when examining these two terms they are also uniquely different and should be treated as
such. While many definitions of critical thinking exist The American Philosophical Association (APA)
has defined critical thinking as purposeful, self regulatory judgment that uses cognitive tools such as
interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation of the evidential, conceptual,
methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations on which judgment is based (American
Philosophical Association, 1990). Much like critical thinking, multiple definitions exist for clinical
reasoning. While numerous definitions may indeed exist a clear and precise definition has not yet been
found within nursing literature (Simmons, 2010, p. 1151). According to Dr. Simmons, clinical
reasoning within nursing is defined as a complex cognitive process that uses formal and informal
thinking strategies to gather and analyze patient information, evaluate the significance of this
information and weigh alternative actions (Simmons, 2010, p. 1155). As mentioned above similarities
between critical thinking and clinical reasoning exist and quite often the term are used interchangeably
within nursing literature (Simmons,

The Bluest Eye And Yasunari Kawabata s Thousand Cranes
Symbols are a primal medium of communication used today and convey different meanings
depending upon one s cultural background. Hence, the significance of a symbol is not inherent in the
symbol itself but is rather cultivated in society. Both Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye and Yasunari
Kawabata s Thousand Cranes explore the significance of such symbols, focusing on the basal reader
of Dick and Jane and the ritualized practice of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, respectively. These two
symbols, while disparate on the surface, share fundamental similarities and define their roles in the
modern world by signifying a departure from antiquated views regarding race and tradition. Not only

The words which Kawabata uses to describe a bowl used to drink tea brings attention to the elegance
of the Japanese Tea Ceremony; in fact, the Oribe was four hundred years old [...] as tea masters have
looked after it and passed it down through the centuries (Kawabata 19 20). Tea practitioners must have
recognized certain appealing qualities in the tea vessels that deemed them worthy of being passed
down from generation to generation. Dick and Jane and the Japanese Tea Ceremony both place
emphasis on beauty, with a detailed characterization of aesthetic elements. In addition to a common
emphasis on aesthetic appeal, Dick and Jane and the Japanese Tea Ceremony also share a formulaic
structure. In Dick and Jane, the stories are depicted in a prescribed manner to only include positive
events; for example, Mother is very nice [...] Father is smiling. Smile, Father, smile [...] Here comes a
friend. The friend will play with Jane (Morrison 3). Each scene in the children s series takes place
during the day, and the sun is always shining, knees are never scraped, parents never yell, and friends
always come to play. The author s use of words such as nice and smiling accentuates the structure of
the story and how it is one sided. Each page only contained one new word, and on every third page,
the new words would be combined, with only five to six new words total (Mancini). Furthermore,
each sentence in Dick and Jane is

Pre bid meetings can be held after the RFP s are issued and prior to the bid due date. Pre bid meetings
may be referred to with other titles in RFP s such as a pre proposal conference in government RFP s. If
an owner intends to have a pre bid meeting, the Instructions provide the location, date, and time of the

from bidders will be handled. The answers to the questions from bidders are normally handled in a
formal manner since they are a supplement to the information provided in the RFP.
1.6. Owner Contact for Questions
It is important that an owner designate one individual to act as the contact person for questions from
bidders during the bid period. This organizational approach assures that questions are handled in a
consistent manner and that all bidders receive the same answers to questions. The answers to
individual questions from bidders during the bid period that are not responded to at a pre bid meeting
are also important supplemental information to the original RFP. The procurement group

Technology And Technology Essay
In current times technology has allowed almost anyone to connect such as, texting, calling, email, and
other forms of chat. However, with all this technology how is it affecting our interpersonal
relationships? Technology is ripping the human connection apart due to, people being dependent on
their devices, we text more than we talk, and children being exposed to technology sooner.
Technology is causing people to be dependent on their devices for communication. Larry D. Rosen is
a psychology professor at California State University and he wrote an article about how technology
has made people addicted and dependent on their devices. Rosen wrote, (2015) An important aspect of
technology addiction is that it interferes with normal life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People no longer make the human connection while hanging out, and some would rather be glued to
their phones instead of being in the moment. When people communicate through text they are unable
to convey emotions through the text however, when they talk face to face they can hear and see the
emotion in the other person. So, by using technology to communicate they are not effective because
we are unable to make the human connection with someone and communicate effectively.
With current technological advances children are being exposed to technology at earlier ages. This
early exposer could cause youth to find material not suitable for their age this could also expose them
to other children which could result in bullying. Tori DeAngellis said (2011), About 40 Percent of
bullying still takes place in person, compared with 10 percent through phone calls, 14 percent by text
messages, 17 percent online and 10 percent in some other way (p. 2). Tori DeAngellis fails to point
out that 51 percent of bullying takes place online which could result in children being bullied which
might result in situations that children are unable to understand or handle properly. Also, children
using technology to communicate through text or email may have grammatical errors because they
may use slang or abbreviation. Ruth Campell is a reporter for the southern Missourian and she covers

A Literary Analysis Of Alice Walker sThe Color Purple )
Pretty Colors
(A Literary Analysis on Alice Walker s, The Color Purple) Alice Walker was a writer who influenced
many people in her time, and continues to influence a copious amount of people still today
considering she is still living! Her writing explores multidimensional kinships among women and
embraces the redemptive power of social and political revolution. (Whitted) Her works range from
short poems to long novels that have been read by thousands. In each, she presents several messages.
In the novel, The Color Purple, Walker is able to portray three main messages.
The first message in Purple talks about the importance of family. As an adult, Celie s family was
separated from her, and she was the receiver of the aggressive touch of a man throughout her entire
married life. Celie didn t have a family for quite some time in the literal sense, however she found
family with those around her. Those that she became friends with were the ones that became her
home. They took care of her and made sure that she wouldn t make decisions that she would regret for
the rest of her life. When Celie was in a bad situation, Shug was able to get her out of it, and lead
Celie to a place where she could be happy. In the end, Celie s family is all reunited with her and
everything turns out for the best! Believe in good things to come. (Holland) The main message,
however, is that family may not be the people that are related to you through blood or marriage, but
family just might be in the people that take care of you no matter what.
The second message in Walker s story is about courage. While living in an abusive relationship, Celie
depended on her courage to carry her through the trial that was living with her husband. Nothing the
Celie did was ever enough for her husband, and he let her know that by hurting her in many different
ways. While many did not perceive Celie as being courageous, others around her found her courage as
inspiring. People sought to become like her. Celie is given the chance to truly show her courage,
though, when her friend Shug gives her a way out, taking her to a new state. She is able to leave her
abusive husband behind, and start a new life. She becomes successful and shows those around her

Urbanization Of The United States
When we take a look on our current life, we definitely will not be strange to everything surrounding
us. But what if we lived in the past and traveled to the present, we must be shocked by this great
urbanization in our city. What is urbanization? Urbanization is defined as the process by which towns
and cities are formed and become larger as more and more people begin living and working in central
areas. In Boston, the government sets up a freedom trail that reflects the history of the United States.
However, there is also a latest freedom trail that is constructed by my own, which shows how
urbanization in Boston was going step by step. The core factors indicated by this new freedom trail are
trade, immigration, education and manufacturing. Long Wharf is the first stop. It was constructed
around 1710 in downtown Boston. Why does Long Wharf play a determined role in the development
of urbanization? Going through the history, when the British colonists came to Boston, they were
seeking to find clean water for survival. They began to set up home around the Quonehassit and then
built Long Wharf. From the geographical point of view, Long Wharf was at the mouth of several
rivers extending inland, which made a naturally ideal port. At the time of the society and even today s
society, trade is essential in the survival of the community. By looking at trade between one colonial
and another colonial, and between the New England region and the other countries, Long Wharf

Lewis And Clark Analysis
The purpose of the Lewis and Clark Journals was for them to find an all water route to the ocean but
to also document what they did and what they encountered during their voyage such as people,
animals, and plants that could help the United States.
In 1803, the great expanse of the Louisiana Purchase was an empty canvas for the United States.
Thomas Jefferson paid Meriwether Lewis to lead an expedition from the Missouri River to the
northern Pacific coast and back. From 1804 to 1806, accompanied by co captain William Clark, the
guide of Sacajawea, and thirty two men, Lewis mapped rivers, traced the waterways to the sea, and
established the American claim to the areas of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Together the captains

The Importance Of The Relevance Of The Data
The importance of the relevance of the data has been identified since the very early work in context
aware ubiquitous systems. Despite of its importance few works have been carried out to quantify the
QoC and ensure the quality of the information on which the decisions and actions of contextaware
systems are based. Moreover, many decision support techniques are insufficient to address the runtime
uncertainty in the context information as they do not assess the QoC in an end to end fashion. We
formulate the related work into two parts: 1) QoC attributes and modeling aspects
2) Runtime decision support addressing uncertainty
A. QoC attributes and modeling aspects
QoC attributes and their modeling comes into play to capture the uncertainties in context data. A well
designed model is a key assessor to the quality of the context. Krause and Hochstatter [5] discussed
the challenges in modeling the
QoC and its usage. Several QoC models emerged but most of the QoC models were not properly
quantified according to the
QoC requirements. Castro et al. [6] investigated the accuracy of a location sensing service was
compromised. Ranganathan et al. [7] used predicate and probabilistic logic to assign confidence
values from 0 to 1 for every type of context. Dey et al. [1] suggested that mediation with the user can
help to reduce the uncertainty. QoC is modeled as meta data where additional information about the
quality of the context source is utilized to capture the uncertainty. Krause and

Is Ethics Promoted By Human Resource Management Affects...
The purpose of this paper is to examine the manner in which ethics promoted by human resource
management affects the operations of an organization. The human resource management is responsible
for implementing the accepted behavior of the stakeholders to ensure that the company runs smoothly.
The company is dependent on the human resource in maintaining and promoting ethical behaviors as
it has the responsibility of educating, training and communicating the behavior of the stakeholders.
This paper clarifies the manner in which the human resource management engages in various
operative activities for instance protecting the company from infringing the set laws and regulations
through practicing unethical behaviors. It is very easy for the human resource management to
implement a code of ethics through the established policies of the company that establishes the ethical
behavior and helps in governing the daily activities of the organization. It is evident that promoting
ethics yields more benefits to the organization as for instance the employees are motivated thereby
increasing the productivity of the company.
The theoretical consideration on ethics in business focuses on the ecological as well as social
responsibilities of a company within a community as ethics are regarded an important aspect in the
external self presentation and the perception of the organization in economic terms (Köster, 2002).
The relationship between human resource management and ethics has been

That way, as the imminent problems of greenhouse warming have been created by the Annex B
(developed) countries the burdens of adjustment should be put on them [2].
On the other hand, per capita gas emissions in developing countries are lower in comparison to those
ones in developed countries, so these should relatively support less limits as well. In addition to this,
the Kyoto Protocol also takes into account the growth needs of developing countries for their current

higher greenhouse global emissions to achieve their social goals and meet their development needs.
Essentially, the Kyoto Protocol tries to integrate developing countries in this commitment of reducing

countries. That is why the UNFCCC takes into account their particular and low economic conditions
and does not want to impose any welfare burden or break to their development because of the
economic costs involved in limiting emissions. Thus, the UNFCCC does not want to put any obstacle

Do you remember when our policemen had to ride around on horses to get from place to place? Most
probably have heard about it, but think to themselves all I have ever known as police cars and
motorcycles . For over a century the world has been making advances with technology in all areas of
life, and the field of criminal justice has not been an exception to this technological advances. These
advances in technology has taken the criminal justice field a long way from riding a horse bareback to
driving armored cars. These advances along with many others have almost completely changed how
things are handled in all aspects of the law. Technology is the persistent application of information in
the design, production and use of goods and services, and in the organization of human activities.
Criminal Justice is the system of law enforcement, involving police, lawyers, courts, and corrections,
used for all phases of criminal procedures and penalty. As technology is used in the organization of
human activities and criminal justice deals with the criminal aspects of humans it constantly unites
these two things. As technology advances, so will it is use in the field of criminal justice. These
advancements are necessary to help keep up with the growing and evolving world, but it is also
necessary to make sure that this type of technology does not begin to infringe on a person s individual
civil liberties. The 1900s brought on many technology advances regarding the criminal justice

Legalizing Recreational Drugs
In 1826, a group of Americans sought out to ban all alcoholic beverages; they were successful and had
a law made under the 18th amendment. However under the 21st amendment it was repealed. So, the
question comes up, should all recreational drugs be banned today? I feel that recreational drugs today
(not for medical use) should not be banned.
I envision a world where drugs and even alcohol are legal. In my eyes the world does not appear
different. I feel that even now when drugs (also again including alcohol) are banned, so many people
do them illegally that it would not be that big of a difference if they are legalized. Consequently, if
they are legalized drug and alcohol abuse might go up and due to that reason there should still be some

Essay on The Effects of Immigration on the United Kingdom
Migrants are defined as all those who were born outside the UK and were known as aliens or
foreigners . Kostakopoulou calls this assumption into question, arguing that aliens are by definition
outside the bounds of the community by virtue of a circular reasoning which takes for granted the
existence of bounded national communities, and that this which takes for granted the existence of
bounded national communities, and that this process of collective self definition is deeply political and
historically dated. The composition of the current UK migrant population has of course been
conditioned by immigration policy over the past 50 years. Immigration has become a major debate

Honeyford made an interesting and yet controversial quotation, which was from a French intellectual,
Fannon that wrote.
It s a just reparation which will be paid to us. Nor will we acquiesce in the help for underdeveloped
countries being a program of sisters of charity. This help should be the ratification of a double
realization: the realization by the colonized peoples that it is their due, and the realization by the
capitalist powers that in fact they must pay.
Sir Jones revealed that Britain has grown complacent and that migrants should not be blamed for the
nation s unemployment as they are willing to work for low wages and possess the skills and education
that Britain no longer provide for their own workforce .His opinion was shared by the Home Secretary
s, where they stated:
I want the message to go out loud and clear that Britain will remain open for business. Our economy
will remain accessible to the best and the brightest in the world... as the Prime Minister said
entrepreneurs will be welcome.

Immaterial Qualities in Richard III
In modern day society, many individuals do not believe that supernatural or immaterial qualities could
play such a tremendous role in everyday life. However, in early British times, the citizens considered
it normal to see supernatural aspects holding significant importance. Although William Shakespeare
was not entirely historically accurate when crafting his play Richard III, he attempted to maintain the
root structure of this period. Shakespeare uses many immaterial qualities including curses, dreams,
ghosts, and time to not only foreshadow a myriad of critical events but also to emphasize Richard s
avarice.
One of the most salient supernatural aspects used throughout Richard III was the idea of curses and
prophecies. Shakespeare used expletives throughout Richard III not only to foreshadow the impending
doom of characters but also to help the reader follow the complicated plot line. Queen Margaret cast
one of the most significant curses from the play declaring, Cancel his bond of life dear God, I plead.
That I may live and to say, The dog is dead (Shakespeare 270). As a result of Richard s murderous
scheme to expunge Edward, Margaret curses Richard s life and insists he will die soon, as a result of
the curse and his horrible deed. To the reader s surprise, Margaret s curse is fulfilled as Richmond kills
Richard in battle at the end of the play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was impossible to avoid all of catastrophes that took place in the past. Actually these incidents
approached today s airport security to perfection. Nowadays there are stringent rules regarding air
travelling. I. History of airports security
The only concern within aviation was the safety of flying. Hardly any thought was put into the
security sector of the aviation industry. This changed when Peruvian revolutionaries took over a Pan
American mail plane. In the period of time from 1930 to 1958, there was 23 hijackings reported. The
first serious incident happened in 1947 when the aircrew member was killed. In 1955, Jack Graham,
placed a bomb in his mother s luggage. The bomb exploded during the flight killing all aboard. A
similar incident took place in 1960, when two suicide bomber killed all people on a board. After these
acts luggage inspection has become more exact. The majority of hijackings were made due to either
escape from the USA or hold people for a ransom. In 1961, in order to prevent hijackings, the federal
government started using armed guards on chosen aircrafts. After hijackings of planes in 1969 the
Task Force on the Deterrence of Air Piracy was established by the Federal Aviation Administration.

from Dr. Tom Stockham s Soundstream (See references for full description) digital system. It had very
powerful editing capabilities and for its time a very advanced crossfader but was still primitive

wrote Neighbour Rosicky. In this short story it lets us envision how modernism has occurred.
Modernism is limitation accorded with the modernist sense that truth does not exist objectively but is
the product of the mind s interaction with reality. In this story, Willa Cather does not explain how or

I should avoid to put two ideas in one question, each idea should have its own question. I have to

answer options. Providing more answer options gives respondents a pool from which they can select

Tooth Movement Of The Dental Arch
The positioning of teeth in the dental arch is dependent upon an equilibrium that exists between soft
tissues exteriorly and interiorly (dog article). It is the imbalance of the forces within this equilibrium
that results in the movement of a tooth. Although extensively researched, there is still significant
controversy as to the ideal pressure that should be applied to a tooth to result in maximum efficiency
in movement. A number of theories of the mechanics of tooth movement exist, revolving around the
effect on the periodontal ligament and corresponding effect of alveolar bone remodeling. There are
two main theories relating to orthodontic tooth movement, which are crucial to understand the
assessment of the ideal force for tooth movement. The bone bending theory, otherwise referred to as
the biological electric theory, proposes that forces applied to teeth stimulate electron release, which
are then involved in remodeling alveolar bone. Possibly more accepted, however, is the pressure
tension theory. This theory suggests that forces applied to a tooth result in compression of the
periodontal ligament on one side of the root, and a tension force applied to the other. Compression for
an extended time, exceeding approximately four hours, results in a release of chemical mediators,
including prostaglandins and cytokines, in addition to decreased oxygen associated with reduced
blood flow. These mediators act to directly, and indirectly through secondary messengers

Text Messaging Is A Problem At School
Since the rise of the internet in the 1990s, and the sending of the first text message in 1992,
technology has rapidly become essential to our lives in the 21st century. Our generation relies on
phones to communicate instead of just talking in person or writing a letter. People are so connected to
the internet that we forget all the little things that matter around us. Some say that it does have an
impact on literacy, and others believe that it does not and that it is simply just another form of the
English language. The biggest problem is that text messaging is a problem at school. Slang is
damaging students writing and teachers are worried that children will bring slang words into the
classroom and their writing. Text messaging has become detrimental to academic literacy. Cellphones
have become one of the necessities in todays modern lifestyle for every teenager and adult. People
depend on cell phones for accomplishing their day to day activities in their professional and personal
lives. Everyday over 5 billion text messages are sent. People are so engaged in sending things to their
friends at a rapid speed. People walk around with their fingers glued to their phones and not caring
about anything else in the world. Phones are causing this fear that text messaging language will soon

Information Technology In The 21st Century
Information Technology is a developing technology that aims at obtaining the maximum information
with minimum of resources, labour or time. According to the dictionary, Information Technology is
the study or use of electronic equipment especially computers, for storing, analysing and distribution
of information of all kinds, including words, numbers and pictures.
Ever since the appearance of Man on the earth, information has been the major cause of his progress
and development. But information alone is not enough. Information has to be processed, put to use by
logic and reason before it becomes useful knowledge.
Information Technology includes and encompasses within itself the whole technological, social and
cultural phenomena that promise an excellent future for mankind. The 21st century is a century of
Information Technology. Just as steam engine emerged to be the technology of the 19th century and
computer technology enhanced the capacity of human brain in the 20th century, Information
Technology is the in thing in the 21 century.

Difference Between California Legislature And Usa
Although studies have shown that the key differences between the U.S. Congress and the California

First, the U.S. Congress and the California legislature have different term limits or number of years
that they can serve in an elected office. These terms were executed by the Proposition 140 passed in

Importance Of Democracy
There are varying definitions of what democracy is, but the general idea is that a democracy is a
governmental system where there is high and active political participation from all people who live in
that country, this political participation involves electing a government with fair elections. A
democracy should also give equality and freedom to all of its citizens. In this essay, I will discuss how
democracy has changed over time and how definitions differ, then, I will look at theories that explain
why a democracy may be more peaceful. Following this, I will begin to examine what the title of this
essay actually questions and give contextual examples to do so. I will finally conclude by giving my
response to the question Are democracies more peaceful? .
The first democracy was seen in Athens, Ancient Greece in the year 507 B.C by the leader Cleisthenes
with his system of reforms called Demokratia which translates to rule of the people . Although this
system allowed more than just high society to vote, out of all the people in Athens, only 40,000 were
allowed to vote, those being male citizens who were part of the demos and aged over 18 . This is
evidently different to the democracy we see today, particularly in western nations, for example, the
United Kingdom has been a democracy arguably since the introduction of the Representation of the
Peoples Acts in 1918 which permitted women to vote, and then the modification in 1928 which

Throughout different time periods and civilizations come many different types of art that would never

The statue shows the God in a good light and as a muscular and fit being, but at the same time is
portrayed in an extremely unrealistic way. The Statue of Asklepios is a classic Greek sculpture that
portrays a person of the most perfect and athletic form. The piece is of a man standing beautifully
while draped in a toga. The toga is draped over his left shoulder and cuts across to the right side of his
body near his lower abdomen and then continues to cover his legs until his ankle. The toga also is
draped over the pieces entire back. The piece is missing his head, his left arm and both his right foot
and almost its entire right arm. The piece has a smooth, but not glossy, exterior in all of the areas
except for the parts that have been broken off. Asklepios is portrayed as an incredible fit and beautiful
being. The abdomen is extremely muscular and shows off the miraculous fitness of the model. The
toga has many wrinkles, creating a lot of shadow and darks and lights. It also is wrapped in a way that
is both loose and tight in different areas of the sculpture. It is tied right next to the left pectoral and the
left armpit. This piece emphasizes the muscular body of this man while at the same time portraying
him standing in such a nonchalant way through the curvature and relaxed look of the figure. And

The Widespread Adoption Of Information Technology Essay
The widespread adoption of information technology (IT) has resulted in significant savings in health
care costs as well as improved patient health and safety. Today in healthcare facilities, databases store
records that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This results in better data coordination and
management (Banova, 2013). The benefits of increased use of IT continues to grow as leaders in the
field of medicine create innovative ways to use IT to improve the business and health care side of
medicine. IT has increased the efficiency and decreased the cost of doing business. This leads to
dollars and an increase in overall patient quality which is critical with the changes in the

The city of San Diego as the need and push for IT implementation has grown made a large technology
investment and created a health information exchange (HIE). San Diego Health Connect began in
efforts to improve healthcare in the San Diego community spearheaded by the University of
California. In April 2010, UC San Diego received a grant from the Office of the National Coordinator
for Health Information Technology (ONC) on behalf of the community. They named this the Beacon

Red And Processed Meat Research Paper
The Effects of Red and Processed Meat on Human Health and Diseases The Food and Agriculture
Organization states that each (non vegetarian) person in the United States, on average, consumes 270
pounds of meat annually, and according to the United States Department of Agriculture, about 71.2
pounds of it is particularly red meat, meaning beef, pork, veal, or lamb (FAO, USDA). Processed meat
constitutes about 22% of total meat consumption, coming to an average of 60 pounds annually per
American, according to the National Institute of Health (NIH). This data indicates that large amounts
of red and processed meat are being eaten in the United States, and the consumption of these foods is
linked to many health issues and diseases. Organizations such as the United States Department of
Agriculture, the National Institute of Health, the Food and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While it is certainly a widespread stigma that vegetarian diets (including any diet lacking in meat or
animal protein) increase risk of vitamin deficiencies, however, the American Dietetic Association has
proclaimed that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are
healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of
certain diseases (ADA 1).
There are many misconceptions of high deficiency risk in vegetarians, a select few being vitamin B12,
iron, and protein. While vitamin B12 is most conveniently available in the form of animal products,
supplements and fortified foods (such as enriched cereals or fortified plant milks) provide the
necessary amount of B12 in a healthy way. It is most logical to consume B12 from a non animal
source, as it provides the necessary amount of B12 without the extra saturated fats, sodium, and
harmful risks associated with eating

A Short Note On Mission And Mission Of Mars
Wei Jiang
ESS 102
Instructor: Erika Harnett
November 18, 2016
Manned Mission to Mars The year is 2045, a time when the earth is in great turmoil. Tsunamis,
hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, famines... all the impacts of global warming are just starting to
disrupt life. Europe and North America are experiencing immigration in unprecedented numbers,
neither because the migrants are escaping persecution, conflicts and wars in their countries, nor
because they are pursuing economic prospects; but because they can no longer survive the high
temperatures in their countries. Europe and North America have become too warm for their
inhabitants but just the right temperature for migrants from South America, the Middle East, Africa
and South Asia to survive. But the problem is not just global warming and migration there is a more
frightening threat, one that could turn the entire Earth s crust upside down Nuclear War. All political
and diplomatic negotiations have failed, leaving war as the last resort. There is not a single safe spot
on earth to escape to. There is only one option left a place outside earth, a different planet Mars. The
possibility of relocation to Mars comes as big relief to people on earth, but there is one problem not
everybody can go. The mission is too expensive for ordinary people. Only billionaires and politicians
who have stolen (and are still stealing) funds that belong to their states can afford it. However, the
good news for a few lucky people is

  • 2. The Effect Of Chemical Reactions On The Rate Of Reaction A chemical reaction is the interaction of two or more chemicals that produces a new chemical compound, most reactions require an increase in temperature, pressure, surface area, concentration or the inclusion of a catalysts to speed up the rate of reaction. Chemical reactions can be found in everyday life, without many of us knowing. Either it be a soluble tablet in water, or photosynthesis in a plant. The prerequisites for a reaction are known as the Collision Theory . As stated by M. Ferguson (2016), For a reaction to occur, particles must collide, with sufficient energy (also known as activation energy) in the correct orientation to break the existing bonds between the particles . There are many factors that influence the rate of reaction, these include: an increase in, temperature, concentration, surface area (SA), pressure and a catalyst. When a gas, liquid or solid solution is heated, the molecules of that particular chemical gain kinetic energy, and thus move faster, allowing for more frequent and successful collisions. This allows for the product to be formed much faster than if the molecules had less kinetic energy. If the concentration of a solution has increased, there will be more molecules in the same volume, which allows for the molecules to collide more frequently. This process speeds up the rate of reaction more so, than if there were fewer molecules in the same volume. An increase in surface area of a solid substance allows for an increase in rate of ... • 3. Scrutinize Government Agencies I have always found it interesting how harshly people scrutinize public agencies. A majority of the public believe, to some extent, that the government is not doing enough for them or that government agencies are inefficient and a waste of their tax dollars. The public claims that they are not seeing enough improvements based on how much money they are putting into these systems and essentially feel cheated out of their own hard earned money. I would like to understand what public agencies must do in order to improve their image and get the American people to confide in them and trust that their tax dollars are going to good use. The Department of Homeland Security is certainly not my favorite agency, but I do find it to be one of the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Art Scandal A few institutions which have stolen artwork want to redress their wrongdoings. Institutions and individuals that have looted artwork should return everything they obtained illegally to their original location. A few prestigious institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles have agreed to return looted or stolen artwork or antiquities (Roehrenbeck). Despite their desire to return looted artwork, there are complex issues that make it quite difficult. One of the issues consists of the debates about what approach should be taken regarding the country s ownership of cultural property while another issue is how the process should be approached when it requires cooperation among government, museums, and even artifact dealers where holes exist in historical records. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2005, a former Getty antiquities curator Marion True was charged with conspiring to traffic in looted treasures. (Puente) Since this is the first time that an American museum was charged with a crime for buying art, it has raised questions and concerns that could possibly affect all the other museums. The Getty got caught when attitudes and laws changed , says Bill Pearlstein, a lawyer from New York who represents private collectors that do not want to see the end of the antiquities trade. (Puente) Marion True claims she is not guilty and that she did not know that the members of the J. Paul Getty museum bought looted artwork, however, after uncovering the fact that she obtained a personal loan from a Getty supplier to buy a villa, she resigned. Her actions were not acceptable ethically or legally (Puente). Art smugglers who obtain illegal treasures and sell them to museums with a false document of provenance will get ... • 5. Persuasive Essay On Yellowstone National Park Yellowstone National Park, untamed wild beauty. Stunning landscapes, beautiful waterfalls and rivers, breathtaking wildlife, and geothermal activity all come together to make Yellowstone an amazing place. People come from all over the world to witness the beauty of Yellowstone. It is a regulated national park for a reason, it is so amazing, so beautiful, so spectacular to not preserve it. It hosts bison, elk, deer, bald eagles, bears, moose, beavers, and amazing trout rivers, everything a perfect mountain ecosystem should hold. However now there is something else, something that is natural, was removed but has now returned, flourishing and benefiting its surroundings. Wolves, have been reintroduced into Yellowstone and have greatly benefited the area. These wolves have started a positive and beneficial renewal in the park. The reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone National Park is beneficial because they created and natural and beneficial trophic cascade, other animals in the park benefited from the wolves, and because the land was able to regrow and flourish due to the wolves presence. Since the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone they have created an astounding and advantageous trophic cascade. A trophic cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the addition or removal of top predators and involving reciprocal changes in the relative populations of predator and prey through a food chain. These often result in dramatic changes in ecosystem structure and nutrient cycling. In a three level food chain, an increase (or decrease) in carnivores causes a decrease (or increase) in herbivores and an increase (or decrease) in primary producers such as plants and phytoplankton according to briticanna (how to make better). The entire ecosystem was able to become whole again because the wolves, a key species, were reintroduced. Now this may seem weird, a predator comes into the area a begins to kill animals, how can this be beneficial in any way? Well the fact of the matter is that it is extremely beneficial. The reason being the problem in Yellowstone was the overpopulation of the elk. These elk had no predators, they were free to roam and reproduce, and they did this very well. Now elk are also a ... • 6. The Sex Trade Still Exists No one said life would be easy. Every day is filled with trials and tribulations which must be overcome to get to the next. What we face here in the United States is, as we see it, extreme. We see homeless people, families struggling to get by, stock market failing, gas prices rising, unemployment going up, and much more. But elsewhere, their struggles are different. Their obstacles in life are more challenging than our measly problems in this first world country. The sex trade still exists, slavery among women and children, trafficking of girls and drugs, and so much more. From the book Sold by Patricia McCormick comes a story about a girl named Lakshmi and her struggles from the mountains of Nepal carried to Happiness House where she was sold into the sex trade, and through it all is able to learn that, simply to endure, is to triumph (16). Lakshmi grew up a poor mountain girl in a village in Nepal. From an early age she was willing to do whatever it took to get a tin roof for her family. Let me go to the city. I can work for a rich family...and send my wages home to you (1). Having a tin roof in their village meant they had some money and they would be safe and dry form the rain. However, Lakshmi s stepfather gambled away everything he owned and eventually even Lakshmi. Lakshmi lived and learned in a Patriarchal world. From early on she was taught by Ama, her mother, what her identity in the world needed to be. ...carry yourself with modesty, bow your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Comparison Between Critical Thinking And Clinical Reasoning Critical Thinking vs Clinical Reasoning Critical thinking and clinical reasoning are two terms that are similar in natural and at times have been used inter changeably throughout nursing literature. However, while there are similarities that can be observed when examining these two terms they are also uniquely different and should be treated as such. While many definitions of critical thinking exist The American Philosophical Association (APA) has defined critical thinking as purposeful, self regulatory judgment that uses cognitive tools such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations on which judgment is based (American Philosophical Association, 1990). Much like critical thinking, multiple definitions exist for clinical reasoning. While numerous definitions may indeed exist a clear and precise definition has not yet been found within nursing literature (Simmons, 2010, p. 1151). According to Dr. Simmons, clinical reasoning within nursing is defined as a complex cognitive process that uses formal and informal thinking strategies to gather and analyze patient information, evaluate the significance of this information and weigh alternative actions (Simmons, 2010, p. 1155). As mentioned above similarities between critical thinking and clinical reasoning exist and quite often the term are used interchangeably within nursing literature (Simmons, ... Hence, the significance of a symbol is not inherent in the symbol itself but is rather cultivated in society. Both Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye and Yasunari Kawabata s Thousand Cranes explore the significance of such symbols, focusing on the basal reader of Dick and Jane and the ritualized practice of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, respectively. These two symbols, while disparate on the surface, share fundamental similarities and define their roles in the modern world by signifying a departure from antiquated views regarding race and tradition. The words which Kawabata uses to describe a bowl used to drink tea brings attention to the elegance of the Japanese Tea Ceremony; in fact, the Oribe was four hundred years old [...] as tea masters have looked after it and passed it down through the centuries (Kawabata 19 20). Tea practitioners must have recognized certain appealing qualities in the tea vessels that deemed them worthy of being passed down from generation to generation. Dick and Jane and the Japanese Tea Ceremony both place emphasis on beauty, with a detailed characterization of aesthetic elements. In addition to a common emphasis on aesthetic appeal, Dick and Jane and the Japanese Tea Ceremony also share a formulaic structure. In Dick and Jane, the stories are depicted in a prescribed manner to only include positive events; for example, Mother is very nice [...] Father is smiling. Smile, Father, smile [...] Here comes a friend. The friend will play with Jane (Morrison 3). Each scene in the children s series takes place during the day, and the sun is always shining, knees are never scraped, parents never yell, and friends always come to play. The author s use of words such as nice and smiling accentuates the structure of the story and how it is one sided. Each page only contained one new word, and on every third page, the new words would be combined, with only five to six new words total (Mancini). Furthermore, each sentence in Dick and Jane is ... • 13. Technology And Technology Essay In current times technology has allowed almost anyone to connect such as, texting, calling, email, and other forms of chat. However, with all this technology how is it affecting our interpersonal relationships? Technology is ripping the human connection apart due to, people being dependent on their devices, we text more than we talk, and children being exposed to technology sooner. Technology is causing people to be dependent on their devices for communication. Larry D. People no longer make the human connection while hanging out, and some would rather be glued to their phones instead of being in the moment. When people communicate through text they are unable to convey emotions through the text however, when they talk face to face they can hear and see the emotion in the other person. So, by using technology to communicate they are not effective because we are unable to make the human connection with someone and communicate effectively. With current technological advances children are being exposed to technology at earlier ages. This early exposer could cause youth to find material not suitable for their age this could also expose them to other children which could result in bullying. Tori DeAngellis said (2011), About 40 Percent of bullying still takes place in person, compared with 10 percent through phone calls, 14 percent by text messages, 17 percent online and 10 percent in some other way (p. 2). Tori DeAngellis fails to point out that 51 percent of bullying takes place online which could result in children being bullied which might result in situations that children are unable to understand or handle properly. • 14. A Literary Analysis Of Alice Walker sThe Color Purple ) Pretty Colors (A Literary Analysis on Alice Walker s, The Color Purple) Alice Walker was a writer who influenced many people in her time, and continues to influence a copious amount of people still today considering she is still living! Her writing explores multidimensional kinships among women and embraces the redemptive power of social and political revolution. (Whitted) Her works range from short poems to long novels that have been read by thousands. In each, she presents several messages. In the novel, The Color Purple, Walker is able to portray three main messages. The first message in Purple talks about the importance of family. As an adult, Celie s family was separated from her, and she was the receiver of the aggressive touch of a man throughout her entire married life. Celie didn t have a family for quite some time in the literal sense, however she found family with those around her. Those that she became friends with were the ones that became her home. They took care of her and made sure that she wouldn t make decisions that she would regret for the rest of her life. When Celie was in a bad situation, Shug was able to get her out of it, and lead Celie to a place where she could be happy. In the end, Celie s family is all reunited with her and everything turns out for the best! Believe in good things to come. (Holland) The main message, however, is that family may not be the people that are related to you through blood or marriage, but family just might be in the people that take care of you no matter what. The second message in Walker s story is about courage. While living in an abusive relationship, Celie depended on her courage to carry her through the trial that was living with her husband. Nothing the Celie did was ever enough for her husband, and he let her know that by hurting her in many different ways. While many did not perceive Celie as being courageous, others around her found her courage as inspiring. People sought to become like her. Celie is given the chance to truly show her courage, though, when her friend Shug gives her a way out, taking her to a new state. She is able to leave her abusive husband behind, and start a new life. She becomes successful and shows those around her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Urbanization Of The United States When we take a look on our current life, we definitely will not be strange to everything surrounding us. But what if we lived in the past and traveled to the present, we must be shocked by this great urbanization in our city. What is urbanization? Urbanization is defined as the process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more and more people begin living and working in central areas. In Boston, the government sets up a freedom trail that reflects the history of the United States. However, there is also a latest freedom trail that is constructed by my own, which shows how urbanization in Boston was going step by step. The core factors indicated by this new freedom trail are trade, immigration, education and manufacturing. Long Wharf is the first stop. It was constructed around 1710 in downtown Boston. Why does Long Wharf play a determined role in the development of urbanization? Going through the history, when the British colonists came to Boston, they were seeking to find clean water for survival. They began to set up home around the Quonehassit and then built Long Wharf. From the geographical point of view, Long Wharf was at the mouth of several rivers extending inland, which made a naturally ideal port. At the time of the society and even today s society, trade is essential in the survival of the community. • 18. The Importance Of The Relevance Of The Data The importance of the relevance of the data has been identified since the very early work in context aware ubiquitous systems. Despite of its importance few works have been carried out to quantify the QoC and ensure the quality of the information on which the decisions and actions of contextaware systems are based. Moreover, many decision support techniques are insufficient to address the runtime uncertainty in the context information as they do not assess the QoC in an end to end fashion. We formulate the related work into two parts: 1) QoC attributes and modeling aspects 2) Runtime decision support addressing uncertainty A. QoC attributes and modeling aspects QoC attributes and their modeling comes into play to capture the uncertainties in context data. A well designed model is a key assessor to the quality of the context. Krause and Hochstatter [5] discussed the challenges in modeling the QoC and its usage. Several QoC models emerged but most of the QoC models were not properly quantified according to the QoC requirements. Castro et al. [6] investigated the accuracy of a location sensing service was compromised. Ranganathan et al. [7] used predicate and probabilistic logic to assign confidence values from 0 to 1 for every type of context. Dey et al. [1] suggested that mediation with the user can help to reduce the uncertainty. Immaterial Qualities In Shakespeare s Richard III Savi Rathi Professor Cody Age of Eliz I and Shakespeare 150E, Section 2 February 7th, 2018 Immaterial Qualities in Richard III In modern day society, many individuals do not believe that supernatural or immaterial qualities could play such a tremendous role in everyday life. However, in early British times, the citizens considered it normal to see supernatural aspects holding significant importance. Although William Shakespeare was not entirely historically accurate when crafting his play Richard III, he attempted to maintain the root structure of this period. Shakespeare uses many immaterial qualities including curses, dreams, ghosts, and time to not only foreshadow a myriad of critical events but also to emphasize Richard s avarice. One of the most salient supernatural aspects used throughout Richard III was the idea of curses and prophecies. Shakespeare used expletives throughout Richard III not only to foreshadow the impending doom of characters but also to help the reader follow the complicated plot line. Queen Margaret cast one of the most significant curses from the play declaring, Cancel his bond of life dear God, I plead. That I may live and to say, The dog is dead (Shakespeare 270). I have to select my population in a manner that I ask the relevant people in order to avoid population definition error and sampling frame error. I should not target SIU students when I wanted to select business owners in the City of Carbondale. This will help me not survey the wrong people. Furthermore, I should avoid leading questions and asking wrong questions. I have to ask relevant questions that will provide me with relevant answers to my questionnaire. I have to avoid using broad terms when developing questions because respondents might misinterpret the questions. I should avoid limiting answer options. Providing more answer options gives respondents a pool from which they can select their preferred answers unlike when I channel them to only two options. • 36. Tooth Movement Of The Dental Arch The positioning of teeth in the dental arch is dependent upon an equilibrium that exists between soft tissues exteriorly and interiorly (dog article). It is the imbalance of the forces within this equilibrium that results in the movement of a tooth. Although extensively researched, there is still significant controversy as to the ideal pressure that should be applied to a tooth to result in maximum efficiency in movement. A number of theories of the mechanics of tooth movement exist, revolving around the effect on the periodontal ligament and corresponding effect of alveolar bone remodeling. There are two main theories relating to orthodontic tooth movement, which are crucial to understand the assessment of the ideal force for tooth movement. The bone bending theory, otherwise referred to as the biological electric theory, proposes that forces applied to teeth stimulate electron release, which are then involved in remodeling alveolar bone. Possibly more accepted, however, is the pressure tension theory. This theory suggests that forces applied to a tooth result in compression of the periodontal ligament on one side of the root, and a tension force applied to the other. Compression for an extended time, exceeding approximately four hours, results in a release of chemical mediators, including prostaglandins and cytokines, in addition to decreased oxygen associated with reduced blood flow. These mediators act to directly, and indirectly through secondary messengers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Text Messaging Is A Problem At School Since the rise of the internet in the 1990s, and the sending of the first text message in 1992, technology has rapidly become essential to our lives in the 21st century. Our generation relies on phones to communicate instead of just talking in person or writing a letter. People are so connected to the internet that we forget all the little things that matter around us. Some say that it does have an impact on literacy, and others believe that it does not and that it is simply just another form of the English language. The biggest problem is that text messaging is a problem at school. Slang is damaging students writing and teachers are worried that children will bring slang words into the classroom and their writing. Text messaging has become detrimental to academic literacy. Cellphones have become one of the necessities in todays modern lifestyle for every teenager and adult. People depend on cell phones for accomplishing their day to day activities in their professional and personal lives. Everyday over 5 billion text messages are sent. People are so engaged in sending things to their friends at a rapid speed. People walk around with their fingers glued to their phones and not caring about anything else in the world. • 40. Importance Of Democracy There are varying definitions of what democracy is, but the general idea is that a democracy is a governmental system where there is high and active political participation from all people who live in that country, this political participation involves electing a government with fair elections. A democracy should also give equality and freedom to all of its citizens. In this essay, I will discuss how democracy has changed over time and how definitions differ, then, I will look at theories that explain why a democracy may be more peaceful. Following this, I will begin to examine what the title of this essay actually questions and give contextual examples to do so. I will finally conclude by giving my response to the question Are democracies more peaceful? . The first democracy was seen in Athens, Ancient Greece in the year 507 B.C by the leader Cleisthenes with his system of reforms called Demokratia which translates to rule of the people . Although this system allowed more than just high society to vote, out of all the people in Athens, only 40,000 were allowed to vote, those being male citizens who were part of the demos and aged over 18 . This is evidently different to the democracy we see today, particularly in western nations, for example, the United Kingdom has been a democracy arguably since the introduction of the Representation of the Peoples Acts in 1918 which permitted women to vote, and then the modification in 1928 which allowed all men and women over ... The Statue of Asklepios is a classic Greek sculpture that portrays a person of the most perfect and athletic form. The piece is of a man standing beautifully while draped in a toga. The toga is draped over his left shoulder and cuts across to the right side of his body near his lower abdomen and then continues to cover his legs until his ankle. The toga also is draped over the pieces entire back. The piece is missing his head, his left arm and both his right foot and almost its entire right arm. The piece has a smooth, but not glossy, exterior in all of the areas except for the parts that have been broken off. Asklepios is portrayed as an incredible fit and beautiful being. The abdomen is extremely muscular and shows off the miraculous fitness of the model. The toga has many wrinkles, creating a lot of shadow and darks and lights. It also is wrapped in a way that is both loose and tight in different areas of the sculpture. It is tied right next to the left pectoral and the left armpit. This piece emphasizes the muscular body of this man while at the same time portraying him standing in such a nonchalant way through the curvature and relaxed look of the figure. The Widespread Adoption Of Information Technology Essay The widespread adoption of information technology (IT) has resulted in significant savings in health care costs as well as improved patient health and safety. Today in healthcare facilities, databases store records that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This results in better data coordination and management (Banova, 2013). The benefits of increased use of IT continues to grow as leaders in the field of medicine create innovative ways to use IT to improve the business and health care side of medicine. IT has increased the efficiency and decreased the cost of doing business. This leads to dollars and an increase in overall patient quality which is critical with the changes in the reimbursement models from CMS ( Benefits of Healthcare , 2015). The city of San Diego as the need and push for IT implementation has grown made a large technology investment and created a health information exchange (HIE). Tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, famines... all the impacts of global warming are just starting to disrupt life. Europe and North America are experiencing immigration in unprecedented numbers, neither because the migrants are escaping persecution, conflicts and wars in their countries, nor because they are pursuing economic prospects; but because they can no longer survive the high temperatures in their countries. Europe and North America have become too warm for their inhabitants but just the right temperature for migrants from South America, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia to survive. But the problem is not just global warming and migration there is a more frightening threat, one that could turn the entire Earth s crust upside down Nuclear War. All political and diplomatic negotiations have failed, leaving war as the last resort. There is not a single safe spot on earth to escape to. There is only one option left a place outside earth, a different planet Mars. The possibility of relocation to Mars comes as big relief to people on earth, but there is one problem not everybody can go. The mission is too expensive for ordinary people. Only billionaires and politicians who have stolen (and are still stealing) funds that belong to their states can afford it. However, the good news for a few lucky people is ...
