Baboon Research Paper
Baboons also called dog faced monkeys, are an old world monkey of the genus Papio, belonging to
the family Cercopithecinae. There are five species of baboons that live across Africa and Arabia. They
inhabit a wide array of climates but favor savannas and other semi arid habitats even though some live
in tropical forests. Baboon s travel in hierarchical groups called troops. Columbia Electronic
Encyclopedia says, most species travel in groups of 40 to 80, which are socially based on a core of
females and may include several transient males but there is variation between types of baboons. This
essay will cover baboon s daily life, vocal communication, and social behavior with respect to their
ability to handle environmental stressors. There are two types of baboons the savanna baboon,
chacma, olive, yellow, and Guinea baboons. They live, as their name would suggest in the tropical
grasslands of the North African savanna. The second type is the hamadryas baboon, which lives in the
hills along the Red Sea coasts of Africa and Arabia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This study showed that the call structure of primates is largely unaffected by the species social system
(including grouping patterns and social interactions), while the usage of calls can be more flexibly
adjusted, reflecting the quality of social interactions of the individuals (Maciej et al). This shows that
they did not have more vocal communication but the vocal communication that they did have could be
of a higher quality then most other primates. This lack of variation among the taxa is compatible with
the assumption that evolutionary constraints play an important role limiting the flexibility in the
structure of nonhuman primate vocalizations (Maciej et al). Evolution has caused the vocal variation
to stagnate and not progress beyond that of there

Per Business Insider, Forty-Two Million Prostitutes Work
Per Business Insider, forty two million prostitutes work in both legalized and illegalized countries.
Many countries have taken different legal paths to deal with prostitution. These paths include;
prohibition, making all forms of prostitution illegal; legalize, making all forms legal; and
decriminalizing, normalizing prostitution. The debate of how to handle prostitution cannot be
discussed until prostitution is understood. The Merriam Webster dictionary describes prostitution as
the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment. Prior to the
nineteenth century, prostitution in the US was legal in red light districts, zoned areas where there was
little conflict between communities and businesses, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As the policies currently stand in the US, no health requirements for prostitutes are in place and this
damages public health. The justice system assumes that deterring people from participating in
prostitution will prevent the spread of sexual transmitted diseases but this is not the case and has not
always been the argument against prostitution. In an article called Why is Prostitution Criminalized?
An Alternative Viewpoint on the Construction of Sex Work, by Rebecca Hayes Smith and Zahar
Sherkarkhar, researches argue that before the nineteenth century the debate was based on moral
grounds, but after the nineteenth century it was shifted to the medical issues. It is especially interesting
that, At the time doctors urged the government to regulate and license prostitution so that prostitutes
would be required to take medical exams, because medical professionals were only wanting exams
while the government pushed that illegalization was the only way to prevent the spread of STDs
(Smith and Sherkarkahr 45). Nonetheless, protecting prostitutes and clients from STDs is a big
concern in all countries but illegalization is not the way to protect the public. In an article What to
know about Nevada s legal brothels, by Michael Martinez, he discusses the different health regulations
that brothels in Nevada abide by. It is noted that, The state board of health requires sex workers to
undergo testing for sexually transmitted infections. Monthly blood testing is

Music Essay on Beethoven s Heroic Style
Moira Loh Loh 1 Ms Yang Tien Music Historical Overview 3rd September Beethoven and the heroic
style Early eighteenth century marked the beginning of the middle period, which was said to be the
most productive period out of his three compositional periods as some of his most magnificent works
were produced during this time (Lockwood, 194). In this paper, I will examine the heroic style why it
came about, what are some characteristics of heroic music and through the analysis of a product of the
times (Taruskin) , compare the differences between the music of the heroic style and that of before.

An example of these dramatic passages would be on page 2 system 2 measure 1 system 3 measure 2 of
Beethoven s string quartet Op.59 No. 3 where in the system two, a fast, rhythmically and harmonically
dense melody is played and suddenly in the end of system 2 (measure 6) the first violin has a measure
long segmented high violin solo. The sudden change in harmonic rhythm and density make this
measure eye catching already but the fact that it is in an extremely high register makes it more jarring
and immediately transiting into a more melodious section, which leads to theme II in the expository
section. Comparing it to the first movement of Beethoven s String Quartet in F major Op. 18 No. 1

without sudden unanticipated stops. Looking at page 1 system 3 measures 3 8 where there is a musical
conversation between the first and second violins. However, these phrases are still connected unlike in
the heroic style many phrases like this are separated and the accents on the rhythm are very different.
Another habit of Beethoven when composing his pieces in the heroic style would be to insert warlike
themes and motifs into his pieces. Some of these themes include death and victory. Loh 4

Good Plumber Research Paper
Finding a good plumber or electrician is a difficult task for home owners.
One, plumbers and electricians possess, or pretend to possess, a skill most of us lack. After all, if we
knew how to fix a broken pipe or wire the unfinished bonus room we wouldn t need a good plumber
or an electrician in first place.
Our ignorance not only makes us desperate for their services it also makes us vulnerable to their
scams, cons, and thievery not to mention their plain old shoddy work. To make matters worse, it s
usually an emergency that forces us to call a plumber or an electrician. In our panic for their help, we
tend to let our guard down which makes us even more susceptible to their tricks and dirty tactics.
Furthermore, due to the nature of the business, it s hard to prosecute a bad plumber or electrician. If
you re lucky enough to find them after they ve swindled you out of your money, the plumber or
electrician can usually claim and do so well within the law that they did everything you asked them to
do; it s their word against yours. In many cases the home owner is left with no recourse while the
plumber or electrician moves onto their next victim. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Shaw s works were only sporadically performed before 1962. This changed when lawyer Brian

Shakespeare. The company was created as A salute to shaw to help give the town a financial boost. In
the year of 1962 Doherty was named both artistic director and producer bring the shows Don Juan in

Shaw Festival theatre by Queen Elizabeth herself. During this time Calvin Rand arts Professor from
the University of Buffalo became president of the company and help move the company forward.

Designing A Pipeline Essay
2.1 Introduction
Pipeline is used to transfer fluids liquid or gas from one location to another location. Designing
pipeline refers to Pipe Engineering. It is an application of petroleum, mechanical and chemical
engineering basics, that deals with designing, testing, analysis, inspection and maintenance of
pipeline. Industrially, all pipeline activities are achieved with the acquiescence and guidelines of
international besides to industrial codes and standards as well as the laws, rules and assize eligible of
local authority.
Pipeline System is a network of Pipes or a set of pipelines by using fittings, valves and other particular
components to achieve the required method of transferring fluids (oil or gas) from one position to
another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Designing a gas pipeline requires four aspects, the first aspect determines the length and direction of
pipeline, the second aspect determines the size of pipes and compressors, the third aspect is to
determine pressure and gas flow distribution in the pipeline transmission system .The fourth aspects
considers the chance of demands for growing of gas over time so the capacity of the system may be
needed to be increased by adding other components in parallel or series. (O. A. Almisned, 2002 )
Moreover, in this research a gas pipeline is designed taking into account the fluid type, transportation
distances, diameter, wall thickness, material selection and other properties to determine the criteria for
the pipeline. A computer programming Pipesim simulator is a steady state, multiphase flow for
designing and badge investigation of gas production systems. in addition to, the programmer
investigates flow line and performance of surface facility to produce full production system analysis.
The cost of setting up underwater pipelines is an important factor in the utilization of offshore natural
gas economics. A suitable design of those networks can facilitate the costs of new discovered fields
into the gathering system which leads to lower prices to the customer and causes profits. This study
considers three main problems in designing pipeline networks expansion. The first problem is the
selection of pipeline network diameters, the second problem, is

Leatherback Sea Turtle Research Papers
The Leatherback sea turtle being in the family of Dermochelyidae is a very unique type of sea turtle
out of the 7 8 species that there are (Foster). Leatherback Sea Turtles are the largest of the species of
sea turtles alive today. They are found in oceans all around the world and are known to travel large
distances throughout their lives ( Leatherback Sea Turtle Facts For Kids, With Pictures Video. Active
Wild). The Leatherback sea turtle has a very critical time period in their life, birth. The males and
females mate several weeks before nesting season begins often only being between the ages of 8 and
15 years of age , and after mating only the females come ashore to lay their eggs (World, Seaturtle.
Leatherback Sea Turtle. ). This routine takes place during the night, and during this time the female
sea turtle excavates a hole in the sand, depositing around 80 eggs, filling the nest, leaving a large,
disturbed area of sand that makes detection by predators difficult, and finally returning to the sea (
Leatherback Nat). The sex of the egg is determined by the temperature inside the nest, so a female
hatchling is produced at a higher temperature whereas male hatchlings are produced in colder
temperatures. When the eggs do hatch the males and females go their separate ways, Female

Les Demoiselles D Avignon
Les Demoiselles d Avignon Les Demoiselles d Avignon (The Young Ladies of Avignon, and originally
titled The Brothel of Avignon) is a large oil painting of 1907 by the Spanish artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso
(1881 1973). The work portrays five nude female prostitutes from a brothel on Avinyó Street in
Barcelona. Each figure is depicted in a disconcerting confrontational manner and none are
conventionally feminine. The women appear as slightly menacing and rendered with angular and
disjointed body shapes. Two are shown with African mask like faces and three more with faces in the
Iberian style of Picasso s native Spain, giving them a savage aura. In this adaptation of Primitivism

While he already had a considerable following by the middle of 1906, Picasso enjoyed further success
with his paintings of massive over sized nude women, monumental sculptural figures that recalled the
work of Paul Gauguin and showed his interest in primitive (African, Micronesian, Native American)
art. He began exhibiting his work in the galleries of Berthe Weill (1865 1951) and Ambroise Vollard,
(1866 1939) quickly gaining a growing reputation and a following amongst the artistic community of
Montparnasse. Picasso became a favorite of the American art collectors Leo Stein (1872 1947), and
his sister Gertrude Stein (1876 1946), around 1905. The Steins older brother Michael and his wife
Sarah also became collectors of his work. Picasso painted portraits of both Gertrude Stein and her
nephew Allan Stein.] Gertrude Stein began acquiring Picasso s drawings and paintings and exhibiting
them in her informal Salon at her home in Paris. At one of her gatherings in 1905 he met Henri
Matisse (1869 1954), who was to become in those days his chief rival, although in later years a close
friend. The Steins introduced Picasso to Claribel Cone (1864 1929), and her sister Etta Cone (1870

Fasb s New Revenue Recognition Guidelines
My topic is FASB s new revenue recognition guidelines. Revenue could not be recognized under the
old model unless the seller had substantially met the terms of the agreement, the seller had delivered
the goods or performed a substantial part of the service, the risks and rewards of ownership had passed
to buyer, Revenue is the largest item in financial statements, and issues involving revenue recognition
are among the most important and difficult that standard setters and accountants face. Revenue
recognition requirements in U.S. GAAP are different from those in IFRSs and both are considered in
need of improvement. U.S. GAAP comprises broad revenue recognition concepts and numerous
industry or transaction specific requirements that can result in different accounting for economically
similar transactions. Although, IFRSs contain less guidance on revenue recognition, its two main
standards IAS 18 Revenue and IAS 11 Construction Contracts can be difficult to understand and apply
beyond simple transactions. Also, they lack guidance on important topics such as revenue recognition
for multiple element arrangements. Reporting inconsistencies in this accounting area arise because
there are no comprehensive accounting standards covering revenue recognition. Several authoritative
accounting pronouncements have addressed detailed, industry specific revenue recognition issues
which caused practitioners to use standards in situations for which they were not intended. As a result,

Christian Beliefs
As a Christian school, we must come up with a list of statements that describe who we are and what
we believe. As Christians, there are certain doctrines that we believe in like the doctrine of the Bible
or the doctrine of the church. From the WCS statement of faith, I chose three statements to interview
my pastor about. The first one I choose stated that: We believe in the present indwelling ministry of
the Holy Spirit, whose intercessory and sanctifying work continually renews the Christian and enables
him to live a godly life in conformity with the Scripture. (John 14:15 17) The Holy Spirit is an
important aspect of the Christian faith for many reasons and the Pentecost is one of the main ones. The

How Does Shakespeare Present Love In Sonnet 43
Compare the methods the poets use to explore the ideas about love in Sonnet 43 and Sonnet 116
In Sonnet 43 and Sonnet 116 , both Browning and Shakespeare present love as eternal using biblical
allusion. Sonnet 43 is a love letter to the speaker, who is the poet (Elizabeth Barrett Browning) to her
beloved. The title suggests that this is her 43rd declaration of her love to her beloved which shows that
the love she has for her beloved is so intense, that it inspired her to write numerous poems her beloved
was her muse. Browning introduces the poem using a question as she asks, How do I love thee? which
provides an assurance to her lover of her love as well as proving the sincerity of the speaker; she
expresses a tone of euphoria ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both poets use metaphors in their poems. Browning s uses of abstract nouns are perceptible as she
uses abstract nouns to exhibit the extent of her love to her beloved. Their love is described to reaching
the highest spiritual level of the ends of Being and Ideal Grace Ideal Grace is a common reference to
God s love which implies that she loves him to the limits of God s love and it is beyond the physical
and belongs to the realm of spirituality. Moreover, Browning uses abstract nouns to show that love is
continuous and perhaps a sustenance as she declares, I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears, of all
my life! This insinuates that her love is almost a necessity as it has a strong hold over her; her love for
her beloved is what makes her alive. Browning s passion for her lover even in suffering, I love thee
with passion... In my old griefs... and with my childhood s faith is displayed as she loves him with
purity and innocence like a child who believes in saints. A child s hope and faith is pure and innocent
before they grow up and become cynical. Her old griefs is referring to when she was grieving after her
beloved brother Edward drowned while on an enforced break with her in Torquay. Browning presents
her husband as her saviours as he was known as the person to have

Transvestitism Essay
Transvestitism
In the last few decades, there has been a rapid change in social attitude towards so called sexual
problems. There has been a call for the freedom to live in the style of which one chooses, so long as
no one else is harmed in the process. One area that appears little understood, however, is
transvestitism, or cross dressing. In order to gain some knowledge about this phenomenon, there are
many aspects of transvestitism that should be examined, some being: history, societal views, the gay
versus straight issue, and women dressing as men.
Transvestitism has a long history, ranging from mythical figures to medieval saints who cross dressed;
from the many instances of berdache in anthropological literature to historical ... Show more content

Why, then are most cross dressers secretive about their affection for this? According to Dr. Peggy
Rudd (1995), most are secretive, because they have many fears related to the consequences of having
their big secret discovered. In general, non participants do not consider transvestitism, socially
acceptable. Many cross dressers fear the detrimental effects upon other family members, and many are
concerned about the possibility of losing their job as a result of coming out.
Some cross dressers feel guilty because society has placed them into stereotypes, including the
incorrect assumption that all cross dressers are gay, or that all transvestites are potential transsexuals.
To the contrary, while some are gay, most cross dressers want to share their life with a woman, and the
number of gay males is far less among crossdressers than among the general population (Rudd, 1995).
Most identify primarily as a male who has, and retains, male gender identity. Often they are married,
and the father of children. (Prince, 1971) This in itself presents the question of whether or not to tell
spouses, and/or, their children about this. Many do not, out of fear of being seen as deviant, and
perhaps losing those most dear to them. It is a natural thing for cross dressers to want to share all of
themselves with those they love, but as there is risk of rejection, many choose to wait until they feel
comfortable that the risk has lessened, or keep it a secret forever.

Biomedical And Health Informatics Have Been Increased Demand
Biomedical and health informatics have been in increased demand. Bloomrosen (2010) indicated the
barriers to universal access to quality and cost effective care have contributed to such demand;
consequently, many healthcare agencies have conducted research to provide up to date, and unbiased
evidence on healthcare interventions. A wealth of available data is now available for meaningfully
knowledge exploitation that can strengthen building and evidence creation, and ultimately improve
clinical and preventive care (Bloomrosen, 2010). Evidence is a continuum process and through a

The development of Evidence Based Practice (EBP) has become an interest for Federal health reform
as well as public and private sectors, consumers, and providers; subsequently, when research is
adequately funded and evidence based treatment options become available and ready to be introduced
into practice, this is achieved through translational research. In the early 1990 s, translational research
appeared in mainly cancer related studies. More recently, the National Institute of Health (NIH)
definition of translational research has been cited as the process of applying discoveries generated
during research in the laboratory, and in preclinical studies, to the development of trials and studies in
humans; and the second area of translation concerns research aimed at enhancing the adoption of best
practices in the community with cost effectiveness of prevention and treatment strategies ( Rubio, et

research that may quicken the transition from research to the clinicians by improving multidisciplinary
collaboration and communication: Applies new knowledge generated in the laboratory to new
methods that can be tested on humans; takes the results of the above human studies and refines them
for use in daily clinical practice; takes these practices beyond

than a sign of confusion, code switching is adaptive, reflecting deliberate control of the two languages

the B grade level. He studies for about an hour, skimming over the lessons that he learned that day. He
does only what is expected of him and does not seem to be interested in advancing his skills. Chris s

Conclusion
It seems like the consumption experience is not rational, at least from my experience. The ideas the
buyer hold at the beginning is not what they think during the consumption process and would change
eventually at the end. Especially buying an expensive item which requires more consideration would
cause great cognitive dissonance at the end. Some buying require active decision making but some are
not. During the retrospective process, buyer always has new wants and somewhat discomfort on the
decision made. I have some trouble defining the new goal want and beliefs into the scheme on the
retrospective stage. In this model, some buyer even thought buy the products, they could still return it

The Is The Greater Sinner Of The Pair And Eve Fall From...
In Genesis III, the story of original sin is told, where Adam and Eve fall from the grace of God and
into the everyday sufferings of mankind. It can be easy to interpret Eve as the greater sinner of the
pair, and often, scholarly works of early and medieval Christianity, and other religions influenced by
the Old Testament, has done that. One can see how this line of thinking is attractive to those analyzing
Genesis as Eve is in fact the original perpetrator of the sin, and the one who gets Adam to enact the
same sin as her, bringing about the end of human bliss with God. However, some in the theological
community would argue that it is in fact Adam that is the greater sinner of the pair. Now while the
reasoning in early Christianity can be fairly sexist in tone, it is very credible in that it uses direct
biblical evidence as the structuring for its argument. The above would be an important conclusion to
come to in the theological community, as it would remove centuries worth of blame on the woman
when referring to original sin and the downfall of man in the eyes of God. In the following
paragraphs, the historical perspective on the failings of Eve will be discussed, followed by the
argument for why Adam is in fact the one to blame in this story. I will conclude on a personal analysis
and reflection on which of the pair seems more to blame in the context of Biblical teachings, as well
as what that conclusion would mean for women within these communities. We must look at

Types Of Social Media Networks
There are six basic forms of social media networks. One of them is known as a polarized crowd,
which is a type of social network in which there are two groups that have little connection and
communication with each other even when they are talking about the same topic. There are people
who have multiple connections within their group. However, they have very few connections with
people outside of their group. When it comes to discussing topics, feelings of conflict and tension
come about when people from different groups talk about them. These groups differentiate and
separate from one another based upon the disagreements they have within the discussion. Moreover,
two opposing groups tend to ignore each other rather than argue with one ... Show more content on

The connections within a tight crowd tend to be strong, and these connections tend to connect
subgroups as well. This results into stronger ties, closer relationships, heightened awareness of other
users, and more frequent communication. As people become more proactive when communicating
with each other, they can also refer them to other individuals, thus expanding the social network. They
also follow each other s news feed in order to know more about the person as they post things
throughout their life. They are also similar to a polarized crowd since people in a tight crowd share
common interests and common orientations toward those interests.
Various groups attract different communities when they are using a tight crowd as a means of
communication. This shows how sharing and support can be organized by networked learning
communities in social media. The Facebook group for this class is an excellent example of a tight
crowd. It is a social network where people have the same orientation and interest towards virtual
communities, and can share ideas in order to enhance the learning process. In this case, people within
the group are trying to learn more about virtual communities. Moreover, people within this social
network tend to reply to each other at a faster rate since everyone in the class has a common goal or
they would have the same question in regards to the topic. Also, the class is fairly small

Abstract
The printed antenna is one of the most preferred antenna structures for low cost and compact design of
wireless communication systems. In this paper we have investigated a new approach for improving the
radiation efficiency and performance of the antennas with the size miniaturization, in particular we
have simulated two types of UWB printed monopole antennas for proving this approach with results:
circular patch and Compact Miniaturized Semi Circular patch UWB monopole antennas and in detail
investigation was presented on size miniaturization in order to achieve very compactness and high
radiation efficiency with out degradation of the functional parameters and overall performance.
Simple rectangular microstrip lines are used for feeding the printed monopole antennas. This UWB
monopole antenna designed works well for the whole UWB frequency band 3.1 10.6GHz.
Key Words: UWB, Semicircular, Miniaturization printed monopole antennas, Microstrip lines.

Ever Since Emily Was A Little Girl In Elementary School,
Ever since Emily was a little girl in elementary school, she has always showed interest in space and
space travel. Unlike other kids her age, she would look up YouTube videos by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
and Bill Nye and learn about the different planets. She was able to recognize different planets and
know a lot about them compare to her peers. Her elementary school teachers were always impressed
by her knowledge and her passion to learn about space. Emily particularly loves watching Neil

The question of how long it will take a spacecraft to reach Mars depends on where we are because
both planets are constantly orbiting the Sun. According to Space.Com, on average, it would take
around 162 days to reach Mars [3] Because the Mars and Earth is so far away, we can expect that there
are many differences among the two planets. Living on Earth is as comfortable as it is, and so this
leads us to the question as to why we would want to risk our health, and our life to go out into space
and do explorations Different people have different say in this matter, but Fox News has generated
multiple reasons why we should have human explorations on Mars. The first and most obvious reason
would be because we want more scientific knowledge and discover more about the Mars. We were
able to gain many knowledge about the Mars through robotic explorations, but scientist and others
aspiring scientist have strong enthusiasm that humans can do a more thorough exploration on the
mars. The hopes of exploring Mars and other planets will then inspire the younger generations to
become more aware and interested in the STEM field [2]. Another popular reason why we want to
have human explorations on Mars is for advancement in our knowledge and possible expansion of
humanity. It is known that Mars is the planet that is most similar to our planet Earth, so this challenges
us to explore more about Mars [2]. The first question we want to address is what will

Totalitarianism In Dystopian Literature
Dystopian Literature The Dystopian novel is created by the illusion of a perfect political and social
structure in a community. Dystopian literature exposes the negative results of the poor decision
making of society. Unlike a Utopia, that is an ideal world, a dystopia is the contrary: a world in which
everything is unpleasant, typically a totalitarian or enviromentally degraded one. The government is
usually a controlling one and it tries to maintain a perfect society by using technological and moral
control. These novels often feature different kinds of repressive social control systems. The political
structure of a community is emphasized in a dystopian novel. The government is usually authoritarian
or totalitarian, and it controlls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this literature the society itself is tipically the antagonist, because society is the one against the aims
and desires of the protagonist. The government enacts this oppression then resulting in the loss of civil
liberties like controlling a person s sexual or reproductive freedom. A novel called Among the Hidden
is about a dystopian world in which you can t have more than two children as a family. The family in
the novel have three children and the novel revolts around the life of the third child that lives hidden in
the basement so the population police won t find him and kill him with his family. To a person that
does not care about having children or is fine with having just one, he does not consider this world a
dystopian world, as it is called. Someone who would like to have more than two children considers
this world a dystopian one. The dystopian novel is determined as one depending on one s point of
view. The societies can be depicted as utopias when they are probably dystopias. In a dystopia, society
gives up something for the benefit of another thing that blinds society of the loss of what they gave up,
but after sometime they will notice the loss is affecting them and that s when they figure out they are
living in a dystopia. The idea that you could be living in a dystopia and not even know it is what
makes dystopian fiction so interesting said John Joseph Adams (Dystopian

Noise in Electronic Communications Systems
An additive noise is characteristic of almost all communication systems. This additive noise typically
arises from thermal noise generated by random motion of electrons in the conductors comprising the
receiver. In a communication system the thermal noise having the greatest effect on system
performance is generated at and before the first stage of amplification. This point in a communication
system is where the desired signal takes the lowest power level and consequently the thermal noise
has the greatest impact on the performance. This characteristic is discussed in more detail in Chapter
10. This chapter s goal is to introduce the mathematical techniques used by communication system
engineers to characterize and predict the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It turns out that W(t) is accurately characterized as a stationary, Gaussian, and white random process.
Consequently, our first task is to define a random process (Section 9.1). The exposition of the
characteristics of a Gaussian random process (Section 9.2) and a stationary Gaussian random process
(Section 9.3) then will follow. A brief discussion of the characteristics of thermal noise is then
followed by an analysis of stationary random processes From this point forward in the text the
experimental outcome index will be dropped and random processes will be represented as N(t).
EXAMPLE 9.1 A particular random process is defined as N(t) = U exp[−|t|] + V (9.1) where U and V
are independent random variables. It is clear that with each sample value of the random variables U(ω)
and V (ω) there will be a time function N(t, ω). This example of a random process is not typical of a
noise process produced in real communication systems but it is an example process that proves
insightful as we develop tools to characterize noise in communications. EXAMPLE 9.2 A noise
generator and a lowpass filter are implemented in Matlab with a sample rate of 22,050 kHz. Recall
each time Matlab is run this is equivalent to a different experiment outcome, i.e., a different ω. A
sample path of the input noise to the filter, W(t), and a sample path at the output of the filter, N(t), is
shown in Figure 9.3 for a filter with a bandwidth of 2.5 kHz. It is

In the article The Hidden Prejudice in Selection: A Research Investigation on Skin Color Bias these
writes took the scope of intracial discrimination beyond that of simply avenues to establish beauty, but
to actually identify acts of discrimination that also contribute to feelings of inferiority. Harrison and
Thomas used evidence as found in data collected from the Fair Employment Council that performed
studies in which African Americans and Europeans were matched with regard to their qualifications,
interviewing skills, and credentials. The FEC found, however, that over 20% of employers treated the
African American applicants less favorably than European applicants, but also that African Americans
of lighter complexions were treated more favorable than that of the darker applicants (Harrison
Thomas , 2008). The second worldview method that I examined was that of Constructivist worldview,
as it is the form of research grounded in the notion that individuals seek understanding of the world in
which they live. Individuals develop subjective meanings of their experiences directed toward certain
objects or things (Creswell, 2014). By utilizing this method, women and girls can gain and

Discourse Community Project Paper
Discourse Community Project A discourse community is a community that shares the same discourses
or values or goals as their community. An example of this would be a sports team or organization.
Players of these specific teams all work together to achieve a common goal; to win. These players
have a coach that is a powerful leader and that individual makes them strive to be the best players they
can be. Moreover, it is important for each player to have trust in each other and to form bonds. They
do this through communication. This is an important trait for them because if the players do not trust
their own teammates, there will be no unity. I myself can vouch for these statements because I was
once a part of many teams for multiple years. I was a part of sports teams throughout my entire
adolescence leading all the way to high school. When I had experiences with my club teams, I came to
realize just how important common connections and goals were for a team to be prosperous and
successful. When a team establishes trust and friendships, they can truly work together as a whole.
Often times the teams I was a part of lacked in this area of bonding. Some of the girls on my soccer
team would bicker behind others back and would also try to compete for ... Show more content on

For discourse communities, social media can also act as a bonding experience. For example, there is
an app called GroupMe which allows multiple people in a group to all communicate and send
messages simultaneously. Individuals in this discourse community can talk, chat, and like comments
and it is a way in which a team can stay connected and informed. For example, if someone forgot
something they might have needed in a game, they can use this application to send a message to all of
their teammates at the same time. Through the conversation of new information this group can always
stay informed and ready for whatever they must face

Henri Matisse Essay
Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse was born December 31st, 1869 to two storeowners, Emile and Heloise Matisse. His
father wanted him to be a lawyer, so later on in life he could takeover the family business. They sent
him to Henri Martin Grammar School where he studied to be a lawyer. There was a hint of artist in
Henri because while working as a lawyer s assistant he took up a drawing course (Essers 7). It was for
curtain design but it seemed to be destiny for a lawyer s assistant to take up such a distant hobby as
drawing. At the age of 21, his intestinal operation led to appendicitis. Henri was on bed rest for most
of 1890 and to help him occupy his time, his mother bought him a set of paints. That was the turning

Matisse then began studying at a school started by a fellow artist and friend Camillo because he was
not confident enough in his ability to be an independent artist. In 1903, Matisse started accepting
harshful commissions that took a toll on him. He became so sick that he though to give up painting.
This is when he produced Studio under the Eaves. Matisse told his son, That was the transition from
valeurs to colors (Essers 12). The next year he read Paul Signac s From Delacroix to Neo
Impressionism . Matisse began to move further away from the techniques and style of Impressionism.
The famous summer of 1905 was spent in Collioure with Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck. This
summer marked the most important turning point in Matisse s art career. During the summer, they
experimented with the pointillism techniques of Seurat, but towards the end of the summer, the three
artists had moved in a very different direction. The paintings produced in Collioure rejected
Impression and began a new movement. They exhibited their works in the Salon d Automne, which
they also founded in 1903. The paintings, View of Collioure and Le Bonheur de Vivre received loud
criticism from nearly everyone who had seen them. Louis Vauxcelles, gave them the name the Fauves
(Flam 79). They were nicknamed the wild beasts because of their use and experimentation with bright,
unnatural colors. Their grass was not green, but

The Titanic And The Titanic
The Titanic was one of a trio. Her sisters were the Olympic and the Gigantic. These ships were made
by the White Star Lines, all of their names ending with ic . The White Star Lines were known for
making the top of the line, most luxurious ship liners of their time. The point in making luxurious and
fast ship liners were to compete and beat the German ship liners. This ship race between Germany and
Britain went clear back to the 1860 s. As Britain kept getting out bested by Germany an American
trust builder named Junius Pierpont Morgan saw a chance to make money or a monopoly. Morgan
realized the rivalry and had already monopolized U.S railroads, and wanted to to take control over the
North Atlantic Shipping Lines. Morgan s first move in 1898 was when he bought the more ran down
Inman Line. The owner of the White Star Line, Thomas Ismay, foresaw a big rate war on the North
Atlantic and resisted Morgan until his death in 1899. After Ismay s death Morgan jumped at the
opportunity to get more control by purchasing a controlling interest from the German lines, Hamburg
Amerika and Norddeutscher Lloyd. Just a year later Morgan gained control of the Leyland Line, the
Dominion Line, and the Red Star Line. His next targets were the White Star Line, and the Cunard. For

euros, ($2.38). J. Bruce Ismay, the son of Thomas Ismay, resisted Morgan like his father.

Numerous empirical studies have confirmed that there is a positive relationship between proximity
and competition Ottaviano, (2011). In many industries such as the hospitality industry, agglomeration
raises the prospects of heightened competition between hotels that choose to agglomerate. This
position is keenly supported by Bresnahan and Reiss, (1991) and Sutton (1991). In their view even
though agglomeration brings to bare a lot of opportunities and benefits that enhances the performance
of the firm, it also brings about a strong source of completion. This form of competition can be seen in
terms of products, services, human resources, and the fight for the same inputs among many others.
Sutton (1991) uncovered that; agglomeration could interact with hotel s products and services
strategies. Particularly the efforts of the hotel to differentiate their goods and services from other
hotels around them will demand that new strategies to be developed. As emphasized by Ottaviano
(2011), even though agglomeration results in strict competition between firms who choose to locate in
close proximity to other firms, there are still some sorts of opportunities that firms enjoy from
agglomerating. This suggests that agglomeration presents a congenial atmosphere for competition
between hotels which invariably brings about some significant benefits to the agglomerating hotels. A
study conducted by Kalnins and Chung, (2004), also confirms the position that agglomeration brings
opportunities to the hotels that are situated close to each other. They further added that while
competitive effects prevail within the hotel industries, the net benefits of agglomeration may in fact be
positive between differentiated hotels in the particular vicinity. Even though they could not directly
identify the exact mechanisms behind co location or agglomeration in the industry, their results were
consistent with the presence of demand

Essay on The Pardons of Purgatory
Freedom is the ability one has to choose. Freedom is without consequence, fear of transgression, and
lacks regret. Freedom is a fork in the road a trail that leads to fortune in a field of traps. Humans have
freedom and hold it as children do crayons, straying beyond the lines of purpose only to get lost in
meaningless scribbles. Dante condemns these actions in his poem Purgatory. Dante invents a fictitious
location in afterlife, liberating souls that have become prisoners of their own disarray. With a
collection of paradoxes, vivid imagery, and active examples, Dante establishes a thorough process in
which souls can be cleansed of the past and stride to their future. Purgatory is far from a place of
punishment; it is rather a place ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once liberated from one s tainted ability to reason, one must surrender him self to a higher power that
will guide him accurately through the trials hurdled toward him. If man alone was responsible to hold
himself accountable, he would inevitably taste the savor of some lesser good and chase it, destroying
the freedom of [his] will (Dante 173) and fall victim to the seasons of his own desires. Men need some
rein or guide (Dante 175) to direct their overhot desires (Dante 265) or they will escalade like weeds
growing over a fertile field (Dante 355). Men see the goodness of the matter but cannot do everything
by the power of will (Dante 231) allowing their discretion to grow weary in the first battles (Dante
173). As Virgil, a symbol of man abandoned by his ability to freely judge (Dante 173), was prompted
by divine grace before he came to rescue Dante from a Siren a being which steals the might of (Dante
203) men. Dante illustrates man s tendency to passively stand aside as his life is acted upon rather than
act on the decisions made by mindful consideration. Men must humble themselves to a greater power
to lead them to ultimate freedom.
Solely a guide will not suffice the redemption of one s soul. One must make conscious and passionate
decisions to move forward in growth and change, without portraying doubt or becoming distracted by
the shiny plastic gems saturating the world. Dante constantly

Although the novel The Secret Scripture written by Sebastian Barry is constantly alternating between
past and present, the transition happens quickly and smoothly. This is due to the narrator s use of the

There are five species of baboons that live across Africa and Arabia. They inhabit a wide array of climates but favor savannas and other semi arid habitats even though some live in tropical forests. Baboon s travel in hierarchical groups called troops. Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia says, most species travel in groups of 40 to 80, which are socially based on a core of females and may include several transient males but there is variation between types of baboons. This essay will cover baboon s daily life, vocal communication, and social behavior with respect to their ability to handle environmental stressors. There are two types of baboons the savanna baboon, chacma, olive, yellow, and Guinea baboons. They live, as their name would suggest in the tropical grasslands of the North African savanna. The second type is the hamadryas baboon, which lives in the hills along the Red Sea coasts of Africa and Arabia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Revenue could not be recognized under the old model unless the seller had substantially met the terms of the agreement, the seller had delivered the goods or performed a substantial part of the service, the risks and rewards of ownership had passed to buyer, Revenue is the largest item in financial statements, and issues involving revenue recognition are among the most important and difficult that standard setters and accountants face. Revenue recognition requirements in U.S. GAAP are different from those in IFRSs and both are considered in need of improvement. U.S. GAAP comprises broad revenue recognition concepts and numerous industry or transaction specific requirements that can result in different accounting for economically similar transactions. Although, IFRSs contain less guidance on revenue recognition, its two main standards IAS 18 Revenue and IAS 11 Construction Contracts can be difficult to understand and apply beyond simple transactions. Also, they lack guidance on important topics such as revenue recognition for multiple element arrangements. Reporting inconsistencies in this accounting area arise because there are no comprehensive accounting standards covering revenue recognition. In general, non participants do not consider transvestitism, socially acceptable. Many cross dressers fear the detrimental effects upon other family members, and many are concerned about the possibility of losing their job as a result of coming out. Some cross dressers feel guilty because society has placed them into stereotypes, including the incorrect assumption that all cross dressers are gay, or that all transvestites are potential transsexuals. To the contrary, while some are gay, most cross dressers want to share their life with a woman, and the number of gay males is far less among crossdressers than among the general population (Rudd, 1995). Most identify primarily as a male who has, and retains, male gender identity. Often they are married, and the father of children. (Prince, 1971) This in itself presents the question of whether or not to tell spouses, and/or, their children about this. Many do not, out of fear of being seen as deviant, and perhaps losing those most dear to them. • 20. The Is The Greater Sinner Of The Pair And Eve Fall From... In Genesis III, the story of original sin is told, where Adam and Eve fall from the grace of God and into the everyday sufferings of mankind. It can be easy to interpret Eve as the greater sinner of the pair, and often, scholarly works of early and medieval Christianity, and other religions influenced by the Old Testament, has done that. One can see how this line of thinking is attractive to those analyzing Genesis as Eve is in fact the original perpetrator of the sin, and the one who gets Adam to enact the same sin as her, bringing about the end of human bliss with God. However, some in the theological community would argue that it is in fact Adam that is the greater sinner of the pair. Now while the reasoning in early Christianity can be fairly sexist in tone, it is very credible in that it uses direct biblical evidence as the structuring for its argument. The above would be an important conclusion to come to in the theological community, as it would remove centuries worth of blame on the woman when referring to original sin and the downfall of man in the eyes of God. In the following paragraphs, the historical perspective on the failings of Eve will be discussed, followed by the argument for why Adam is in fact the one to blame in this story. I will conclude on a personal analysis and reflection on which of the pair seems more to blame in the context of Biblical teachings, as well as what that conclusion would mean for women within these communities. Corresponding Author: laxmanpillalamarri85@gmail.com Abstract The printed antenna is one of the most preferred antenna structures for low cost and compact design of wireless communication systems. In this paper we have investigated a new approach for improving the radiation efficiency and performance of the antennas with the size miniaturization, in particular we have simulated two types of UWB printed monopole antennas for proving this approach with results: circular patch and Compact Miniaturized Semi Circular patch UWB monopole antennas and in detail investigation was presented on size miniaturization in order to achieve very compactness and high radiation efficiency with out degradation of the functional parameters and overall performance. Simple rectangular microstrip lines are used for feeding the printed monopole antennas. This UWB monopole antenna designed works well for the whole UWB frequency band 3.1 10.6GHz. Key Words: UWB, Semicircular, Miniaturization printed monopole antennas, Microstrip lines. I INTRODUCTION Ultra Wideband (UWB) commonly refers to signal or system that ... Unlike other kids her age, she would look up YouTube videos by Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye and learn about the different planets. She was able to recognize different planets and know a lot about them compare to her peers. Her elementary school teachers were always impressed by her knowledge and her passion to learn about space. The question of how long it will take a spacecraft to reach Mars depends on where we are because both planets are constantly orbiting the Sun. According to Space.Com, on average, it would take around 162 days to reach Mars [3] Because the Mars and Earth is so far away, we can expect that there are many differences among the two planets. Living on Earth is as comfortable as it is, and so this leads us to the question as to why we would want to risk our health, and our life to go out into space and do explorations Different people have different say in this matter, but Fox News has generated multiple reasons why we should have human explorations on Mars. The first and most obvious reason would be because we want more scientific knowledge and discover more about the Mars. We were able to gain many knowledge about the Mars through robotic explorations, but scientist and others aspiring scientist have strong enthusiasm that humans can do a more thorough exploration on the mars. The hopes of exploring Mars and other planets will then inspire the younger generations to become more aware and interested in the STEM field [2]. Another popular reason why we want to have human explorations on Mars is for advancement in our knowledge and possible expansion of humanity. It is known that Mars is the planet that is most similar to our planet Earth, so this challenges us to explore more about Mars [2]. The first question we want to address is what will ... Dystopian literature exposes the negative results of the poor decision making of society. Unlike a Utopia, that is an ideal world, a dystopia is the contrary: a world in which everything is unpleasant, typically a totalitarian or enviromentally degraded one. The government is usually a controlling one and it tries to maintain a perfect society by using technological and moral control. These novels often feature different kinds of repressive social control systems. The political structure of a community is emphasized in a dystopian novel. In this literature the society itself is tipically the antagonist, because society is the one against the aims and desires of the protagonist. The government enacts this oppression then resulting in the loss of civil liberties like controlling a person s sexual or reproductive freedom. The family in the novel have three children and the novel revolts around the life of the third child that lives hidden in the basement so the population police won t find him and kill him with his family. To a person that does not care about having children or is fine with having just one, he does not consider this world a dystopian world, as it is called. • 25. Noise in Electronic Communications Systems An additive noise is characteristic of almost all communication systems. This additive noise typically arises from thermal noise generated by random motion of electrons in the conductors comprising the receiver. In a communication system the thermal noise having the greatest effect on system performance is generated at and before the first stage of amplification. This point in a communication system is where the desired signal takes the lowest power level and consequently the thermal noise has the greatest impact on the performance. This characteristic is discussed in more detail in Chapter 10. This chapter s goal is to introduce the mathematical techniques used by communication system engineers to characterize and predict the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It turns out that W(t) is accurately characterized as a stationary, Gaussian, and white random process. Consequently, our first task is to define a random process (Section 9.1). The exposition of the characteristics of a Gaussian random process (Section 9.2) and a stationary Gaussian random process (Section 9.3) then will follow. A brief discussion of the characteristics of thermal noise is then followed by an analysis of stationary random processes From this point forward in the text the experimental outcome index will be dropped and random processes will be represented as N(t). EXAMPLE 9.1 A particular random process is defined as N(t) = U exp[−|t|] + V (9.1) where U and V are independent random variables. It is clear that with each sample value of the random variables U(ω) and V (ω) there will be a time function N(t, ω). This example of a random process is not typical of a noise process produced in real communication systems but it is an example process that proves insightful as we develop tools to characterize noise in communications. EXAMPLE 9.2 A noise generator and a lowpass filter are implemented in Matlab with a sample rate of 22,050 kHz. Recall each time Matlab is run this is equivalent to a different experiment outcome, i.e., a different ω. An example of this would be a sports team or organization. Players of these specific teams all work together to achieve a common goal; to win. These players have a coach that is a powerful leader and that individual makes them strive to be the best players they can be. Moreover, it is important for each player to have trust in each other and to form bonds. They do this through communication. This is an important trait for them because if the players do not trust their own teammates, there will be no unity. I myself can vouch for these statements because I was once a part of many teams for multiple years. I was a part of sports teams throughout my entire adolescence leading all the way to high school. When I had experiences with my club teams, I came to realize just how important common connections and goals were for a team to be prosperous and successful. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Numerous empirical studies have confirmed that there is a positive relationship between proximity and competition Ottaviano, (2011). In many industries such as the hospitality industry, agglomeration raises the prospects of heightened competition between hotels that choose to agglomerate. This position is keenly supported by Bresnahan and Reiss, (1991) and Sutton (1991). In their view even though agglomeration brings to bare a lot of opportunities and benefits that enhances the performance of the firm, it also brings about a strong source of completion. This form of competition can be seen in terms of products, services, human resources, and the fight for the same inputs among many others. Sutton (1991) uncovered that; agglomeration could interact with hotel s products and services strategies. Particularly the efforts of the hotel to differentiate their goods and services from other hotels around them will demand that new strategies to be developed. As emphasized by Ottaviano (2011), even though agglomeration results in strict competition between firms who choose to locate in close proximity to other firms, there are still some sorts of opportunities that firms enjoy from agglomerating. This suggests that agglomeration presents a congenial atmosphere for competition between hotels which invariably brings about some significant benefits to the agglomerating hotels. A study conducted by Kalnins and Chung, (2004), also confirms the position that agglomeration brings opportunities to the hotels that are situated close to each other. They further added that while competitive effects prevail within the hotel industries, the net benefits of agglomeration may in fact be positive between differentiated hotels in the particular vicinity. Even though they could not directly identify the exact mechanisms behind co location or agglomeration in the industry, their results were consistent with the presence of demand ... Men need some rein or guide (Dante 175) to direct their overhot desires (Dante 265) or they will escalade like weeds growing over a fertile field (Dante 355).
