Satire On Animal Abuse
Punishments on Animal Cruelty Everyday, every second that passes by, animals across the globe are
mistreated in their so called home . Stop animal abuse! Abusers of animal are five times as likely to
harm humans. Nearly half of the time victims who stay in violent households do so because they are
afraid for their own animals. Countless more never leave the home for their very reason. This issue
should be further looked into by identifying states with poorly laws against animal abuse, the wrong
doing of taking advantage in the use of human resources, and having absolutely no heart in having a
friendly companion. America s worst five states for an animal Many states in the U.S. don t

The Legal Field At Point Park University
Yogi Berra believed that, Baseball is 90 percent mental and the other half is physical. From my tenure
as a college softball pitcher at Point Park University, I learned how imperative being mentally sound is
to the game of softball. The legal field is a very demanding field. I know my experiences gained on
the diamond will allow me to flourish in a field dependent upon mental toughness. Foremost, being a
pitcher made me realize how important it is to have a short term memory. When I was on the mound, I
knew that the result of the previous batter had no bearing on what the next batter would do. For
example, when I gave up a big hit, before the next batter came to the plate, I had to forget about what
just happened. In softball, it is important to not dwell on the negatives, but learn from them. Because
of pitching, I know yesterday s failures can turn into tomorrow s successes. I plan to have the same
attitude in the legal field when obstacles come my way. In addition, pitching has taught me that there
are some things in life that I will never be able to control. Success on the mound is dependent on a
variety of factors. Umpires, field conditions, the weather, and plays my team made all had an impact
on the on the outcome of a game. When it was raining, I understood that I had no control over the
weather. However, I could make small adjustments to my routine to preform better in unfavorable
conditions. In a similar manner, when an umpire made a call I did not agree

The Evolutionary Benefits Of Eukaryotic Cells
The evolutionary benefit of a membrane bound nucleus is that it allows for additional level of
regulating gene expression. Eukaryotic cells can effectively control the rate of mRNA transport out of
the nucleus for translation in the cytoplasm because membranes act as a barrier. Prokaryotes which
only has a single membrane can only control the rate which DNA is transcribed by regulating
activation of proteins needed for transcription/translation while eukaryotic cells can regulate gene
expression in multiple and complex ways due to the compartmentalization of the nucleus with a
membrane.
The outermost membrane is connected to the endoplasmic reticulum resulting for the two organelles
to effectively share the same membrane. This makes it accessible

Use of Prosody in the Selected Poems of Gwendolyn Brooks...
Poetry has a role in society, not only to serve as part of the aesthetics or of the arts. It also gives us a
view of what the society is in the context of when it was written and what the author is trying to
express through words. The words as a tool in poetry may seem ordinary when used in ordinary
circumstance. Yet, these words can hold more emotion and thought, however brief it was presented.
What makes a good poetry? It is not only in the idea or thought of what the author is trying to express.
What makes a good poetry beautiful is in how the writer makes use of the words, lines, and spaces and
indents. The rhythm of the poem can make a significant impact in the expression of the idea. Even the
structure of words can make a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pattern made by the alliteration and assonance makes the poem so easy to remember and also easy
imagine. In this way, it is possible to get the feeling of hearing the blues also which was described by
the speaker in the poem. There is also an overall effect of becoming familiar and understanding how
the blues echoed through the head of the speaker.
Gwendolyn Brooks is the first African American to win a Pulitzer Prize. She has also received a lot of
awards and fellowships throughout her life. Born in 1917, she started her writing career in poetry at an
early age, publishing her first poem in 1930. 1967 was a turning point in her career as it was in this
year that she attended the Fisk University Second Black Writers Conference. In this conference, she
has decided to involve herself in the Black Arts Movement. While awareness of social issues and
elements of protest is found generally in all her works, some of her critics found in her work an
angrier tone after joining the movement.
She has also written essays, reviews, and books. She is also a prolific poet, becoming extensive in
writing poetry which moves from the traditional ones to even the unrestricted free verse. Her
characters are mostly from the underclass of the black neighborhoods which shows the impact of city
life to the people within. As one of the most visible poets in the United States, she is active not only in
public readings and poetry workshops but she also participates in contests and classes

The Growth Of Internet Coupled With The Rise Of Multimedia...
Abstract. The growth of internet coupled with the rise in networked infrastructure has resulted in
exponential increase in the multimedia content being shared over the communication networks. The
advancement in technology has resulted in increase in multimedia piracy. This is due to the fact that it
is very easy to copy, duplicate and distributes multimedia content using current day technology. In
such a scenario Digital Rights Management is one of the prominent issues to be dealt with and
tremendous work is going on in this direction round the globe. Digital watermarking and
fingerprinting have emerged as fundamental technologies to cater to DRM issues. These technologies
have been found to be of prominent use in content authentication, copy protection, copyright control,
broadcast monitoring and forensic applications. Various requirements of a digital watermarking
system include Imperceptibility, Robustness, Security, Payload and Computational complexity. The
main requirement of real time DRM systems is lesser computational complexity and high robustness.
This chapter proposes and analyses a robust and computational efficient Image watermarking
technique in spatial domain based on Inter Block Pixel Difference (IBPD). The cover image is divided
into 8×8 non overlapping blocks and difference between intensities of two pixels of adjacent blocks at
predefined positions is calculated. Depending upon the watermark bit to be embedded; both the pixels
are modified to bring the

Super Bowl In Houston Essay
The first professional American football championship, also known as Super Bowl I, was played
January 15, 1967. While Super Bowl I had an attendance of 62,000, Super Bowl XVII had the highest
attendance of 103,667. Super Bowl LI in Houston had an attendance of 70,807. Including, the Super
Bowl attendance and the two full weeks of events, Houston expected 140,000 out of town visitors, 1
million people to attend some type of Super Bowl event, and an estimated profit of 350 million
dollars, according to Super Bowl 51: By the Numbers.
This year Houston went through significant plans to get ready for the big event. During preparations
for the Super Bowl, downtown was being revived with improvements at Discovery Green and George

about $6 million in economic activity in the Houston area during Super Bowl week... This includes a

Super Bowl. Mr. Holston said he saw Uber prices jump when catching a ride to work as security for
the Super Bowl and its events around Downtown. Most revenue came from the business owners and
workers, who came in mid January and stayed through Game Day, and whose annual job is to build
and setup the various areas, party venues and Halftime Show.
Accommodations, restaurants and other local amenities got a boost from these outside workers. Beer

George Washington The Indispensable Man Analysis
George Washington is a towering historical figure who is considered the father of the United States.
James Thomas Flexner captures the man, not the myth, behind this legendary icon in one concise
single volume biography, Washington: the Indispensable Man. This book is a condensed but altogether
new version of Flexner s previous four volume biography of George Washington. This smaller scale
book is well written, and explores Washington as the human being behind the legendary icon (New
York Times Book Review) to bring the reader to a closer relation to a man removed by time and
history. Of time and history, George Washington had a great deal more of it which Flexner had to
cover. Washington was a major national figure for twenty four years from his election as Commander
in Chief to his death, and he was hardly twenty when his role in the French and Indian War made him
internationally known. The wide ranging subject of Washington must have been difficult to fit into one
encapsulated volume, but Flexner manages not only to do that but also writes straightforward in
thought with flowing ideas and logical conclusions. The first chapter, of course, starts from George s
Birth and tells of his childhood of growing admiration for the wilds of the frontier and the British
Army. A little later, the book moves forward to Washington s first military blunder in inciting the
French and Indian War which makes the name George Washington internationally known. After this
incident, Flexner

Kmart Corporation And Its Impact On The Retail Market
The name Kmart Corporation was first known as Kmart Discount Stores. One of the first stores was
opened in Garden City, MI. This company was well known for great in pocket discounts for
consumers. This was the true five and dime retailer. It was also the template for other retailers such as
Walmart.
The road from the original model to the current operation is long and broad. Kmart stores represent a
dynamic example of growth and change, evolving and expanding into several retail market areas.
They have gone through transformations from the original five and dime ideology, to discount retailer,
and further down the line to include home product lines, using products and brands such as Martha
Stewart. Attempts at gaining market share in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The shoe and clothing industry, although not foreseen directly, there are seasonal highs and lows that
come with the business. These are reflected, as such for example with the holidays. Products must be
available, in stock, in order to be presented as saleable items to the customer. This is also overhead.
Depending on the state of the economy, it can very well require sums of money being tied up in
overhead, that could possibly lead to loss should the economy be in a downturn.
I believe, that should Kmart focus on returning to its original company development, it can regain its
market share. The original five and dime philosophy worked. A successful approach that, at one time
may have become somewhat outdated, but the greatest growth and expansion has in fact happened
with the furtherance of the discount retailer motto. The shrinkage of excess overhead, and labor would
enable the company to explore the development of a stronger base line. As stated, At its peak, the
Kmart property accommodated 5,000 employees. When it was sold in 2005, it had fewer than 1,900,
many of whom were transferred to Illinois (Crain Communication, 2016). Buying power has shown to
be a very important factor in terms of profit margin. The need to increase profit margin being the
number one change needed.

Paranoid Personality Disorders Essay
Paranoid Personality Disorders
Paranoid Personality Disorder is a disorder commonly mistaken for schizophrenic personality
disorders. Schizophrenia, a psychosis, is when a person is has an image of a world and its transpiring
events, and he/she is

in the real world. This disorder, though not as debilitating as other disorders, can still devastate a
someone s life.
Individuals with this Paranoid Personality Disorder always assume that other people are quot;out to

These individuals may have a language problem, or unfamiliar with local customs and/or laws.

places trust in the family and may have friends. However, to legally have this disorder, one must show
the symptoms listed above, and be completely suspicious and hostility toward others.
Another possibility widely being speculated upon is the brain. In the brain, there are many chemicals,
and for the brain to function correctly, there must a balance of each type of chemical. As of now,
scientists don t know exactly which chemicals are responsible, but are optimistic.
There is also evidence suggesting that there is an increased possibility that someone with a relative
that suffers from chronic Schizophrenia
(specifically Persecutory and Delusional Type) is more likely to develop
Paranoid Personality Disorder.
Among people in the United States, there is a relatively small percentage of people with this disorder.
In the general population, there is approximately 0.5% 2.5% with Paranoid Personality Disorder. In

The Neolithic Revolution
Lasting Impacts and Legacies of Events and People in Ancient History Section One The Neolithic
Revolution In Neolithic lecture and presentation, the Neolithic advances are described in detail. The
Neolithic period is crucial to later history, and created a lasting impact, because of the developments
made at this time. During the Neolithic period, food production was changed; agriculture and
livestock raising was invented, this secured a stable food supply. These inventions created the
foundation of the food industry as we know it today. Having a steady supply of food then set into
motion the other developments of the era. A stockpile of food meant that communities could save the
food for later, creating a food surplus, and this overabundance of food allowed for an increase in
population. Another result of the food surplus was gaining the ability to trade with other communities
for other raw materials and goods. The majority of people no longer needed to work as food
producers, so specialized craftsman in the communities evolved and developed. The individuals who
remained working as food producers could then trade with the craftsman for their work or product,
and both would benefit from the exchange. Social classes also emerged from the Neolithic Revolution.
The classes were based on wealth and status; individuals and groups that gained control of a food
surplus could gain power in the community by having control over the distribution of it. This laid the
framework for any

The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living In Socrates Apology
Final Paper
In The Apology, Socrates famously asserted that, the unexamined life is not worth living and was
afterward sentence to death. I agree with Socrates declaration because, of some fine points and details
that was stated. Socrates believed in the love of wisdom and that it should be pursued above all the
other claims in philosophy. Socrates decided that he is wise because he consider that he does not think
he know what he does not know. Socrates is known for questioning others and that it is the duty of the
God to continue with what Socrates is good at; questioning people to show people who believe they
are wise that they are really not.

The reason I believe that they are going to be a more contented person is because, people who
question themselves have a sense of where they belong in this world and for people who understand
their place in this world also have all the context and fundamentals of their life put together. Nobody
going to have all the answers you are seeking for and no one is free from the trouble and stress, but
those who have a sense in where they belong will live a happier life. For example, there are two
person in this world and only one of them have a map. Obviously the one with the map will figure out
their destination faster than the one without the map. People who spend their time on this world
without examining their life is like have somnambulism. The reason for living is to have a purpose, to

French Imperialism In Vietnam
TOppressed and Exploited: French Colonialism Unleashed
The pursuit of French colonialism intended to provide opportunity for Capitalist accumulation for its
investors as well as attain raw material. During the nineteenth century, the French found added pretext
to validate military action and gained control of five territories to form a sole Indochinese Union
(French Indochina). For the French, as for most capitalist nations in the West, colonies served as a
source for cheap raw materials and a consumer market for manufactured goods produced in European
factories (William J. Duiker, 13). As the French began to colonize territories they intended to
implement assimilation processes such as teaching them their language or converting them to
Catholics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For French this oppression on the Vietnamese peasants offered the golden opportunity to finance the
construction of rail ways, roads, canals, bridges and ports essentially needed to export crops such as
rice and corn, or rubber, coal and minerals. Whereas the corruption was visible in Vietnam as merely
two percent of the population in South Vietnam owned eighty percent of the land. Colonial
bureaucrats, government, landlords and all those who made up the class of collaborators among
Vietnamese profited under the French rule. Doumer sought out to repair Indochina s financial situation
through a job freeze, expense cuts and absorbing the budget of its five territories into one colonial
budget, and restructuring how to profit off the opium commerce. Whether it was opium from India or
the inexpensive kind from China, they made sure that all consumers were hooked. Large number of
plantation workers, city workers, and miners spent entire salaries in the opium dens. The lack of food
and work created debt and hunger, which destroyed many (O Connell lecture: January 12, 2016). It

Internet Is A Global System Of Interconnected Computer...
Internet is a global system of interconnected computer systems. The internet, as we see today, allows
low cost anonymous communication. The advance in technology has led to faster communications.
For example the change of dependency from postal service to much faster e mails, online banking,
social networking etc. Everything is now at our fingertips. We can now sit at the comfort of our homes
and do certain tasks which were earlier time consuming. Today business has easier global access due
to Internet. It is cost effective and almost all the functions can be automated to make it easier and
faster. Even communication has become cheaper and faster. But as Dr.Leonard Kleinrock stated, these
benefits are a perfect combination to do bad things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage is not yet reached, but the growing needs for more customer friendly, easily accessible and
device independent technology is pushing these developments.
He has also expressed his views on Nomadic Computing which means that the Internet would be
accessible for all devices anywhere and anytime. The Internet, at present, is accessible anywhere and
anytime, but we are still to work on all devices being able to plug in on the Internet. Internet was made
with the assumption of a fixed desktop usage. Dr. Klienrock expresses his concern about no
availability of an IT administrator to look up the network issues personally when one is on the go i.e
travelling, which involves switching between networks at different areas. His solution for this problem
is a portable system support administrator for trouble free internet service on any network that one can
connect to and is available round the clock at anyplace for any device.
His vision includes Smart Spaces. As explained by him, Smart Spaces is the concept of bringing
cyberspace out of one s machine out in to our physical world. He foresees the Internet being able to
automate everything to make life easier by making all appliances able to communicate to each other
and also to the customer. He says this embedded technology is possible by installing thousands of
processors per human which can communicate, has memory sensors, cameras, microphones,

Cardiac Muscle Structure
Structure The cardiac muscle is only found in the heart. This muscle had one nucleus and is an
involuntary striated muscle. Cardiac muscle also contains intercalated disc, which acts as a junction
between the two muscle cells in order to communicate. Also, the cell contains no motor nerve
terminals. The extracellular calcium ions and the cells of the heart act as a stimulus allowing it to
contract via electrical impulse. The cardiomyocytes/ myocardiocyteal muscle cells and the one
nucleus makes up the cardiac muscle. Skeletal muscles are the muscles that are under the control of
the somatic nervous system (voluntary) and are striated. Also they have many nuclei and are triggered
into motion via electrical impulses from the motor neuron terminals connected to the muscle fibres.
These motor neurons are coordinated by the central nervous system and are networked. A bundle of
collagen fibres known as tendons is usually attached to bones of the muscle. The muscle is made up of
individual components known as myocytes. These are made up of myofibers.
Role The main role of the cardiac muscle is to keep the heart beating. The muscle has a large number
of mitochondria and numerous myoglobins because the muscle is different to other muscle cells as it
never gets tired and it is to provide a good blood supply. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Walt Disney s Opening Day
Before Walt Disney World was built, Walt Disney had to secretly purchase the land using fake
company names in order to buy it inexpensively. He first had to explore across the United States for
the perfect location. He wanted to fulfill his idea: A family park where parents and children could have
fun together. He had already begun when Disneyland opened in 1955. Opening day was successful in
numbers: the freeway had a seven mile backup, an estimated 15,000 people were coming, but 28,000
showed up that day (Klein).
Purchasing the Land
Before there could be any ideas about what the new park would look like, a location had to be
determined. Walt Disney searched all across the United States. He needed an area with lots of land;
Walt said he would never make the mistake of not purchasing land around the structured park because
as soon as Disneyland opened, it was surrounded by tacky stores, restaurants, hotels and gift shops.
They were visible from inside the park, which made him very upset (Mongello).
One of the first ideas for a location was Niagara Falls, New York. Walt flew to the Falls and met with
the mayor to discuss his idea. The plan didn t last very long, and Walt soon moved to another location,
Marceline, Missouri. It was where Walt lived until he was nine. He planned on buying a 45 acre farm
for the project. It was a special place that meant a lot to him; actually, Main Street in Disneyland was
inspired by Marceline. Before the plan was tossed, Walt stayed up

Research and Advancement of Biofuel Technology
Biofuels have been in major discussion amongst the government, and the science community due to
the topic of global warming being caused by our greenhouse gasses produced by our excessive use of
carbon producing technologies. Although we like to think that Biofuel is a relatively new fuel
technology that has been developed as of late, it is not. Biofuel energy and its usage can be traced
back as far as our ancient ancestors. Wood, the first form of biofuel, was as many know used by our
ancient ancestors to produce fire. Our ancestors used this form of fuel for obvious reasons such as to
keep warm, and for cooking. Other biofuels, commonly referred to as first generation biofuels, are
produced directly from food crops. The biofuel is ultimately derived from the starch, sugar, animal
fats, and vegetable oil that these crops provide. Corn, wheat, and sugar cane are the most commonly
used first generation biofuel. Corn is probably the most recognized first generation biofuel, due to the
fact that it is used in the production of ethanol. Corn, like many biofuels has its advantages and
disadvantages to the environment. Some advantages are that Infrastructure for planting, harvesting,
and processing is already in place, majority of the plant is used for energy production (little waste).
Some major disadvantages of corn are that its use in ethanol production has increased food cost world
wide leading to hunger, and many fertilizers and pesticides are used in corn production

Black Diggers Dramatic Meaning
The Queensland Theatre Company s Black Diggers dramatic meaning is to highlight the racial
prejudice that Indigenous soldiers faced in the time period surrounding World War II and call to
attention the lack of remembrance and appreciation for Indigenous soldiers actions. The dramatic
meaning is effectively portrayed to the audience through the manipulation of the elements of drama,
the components of collage drama and acting skills.
The dramatic meaning of Black Diggers is communicated to the audience through the effective use of
the dramatic element symbol. This is seen when a small list is compiled of Indigenous soldiers,
reminiscent to the one at the Australian War memorial. This portrays the dramatic meaning, as this is
the only form of remembrance for the Indigenous soldiers. Secondly, symbol is utilised used through a
flame that is lit through the whole performance. This flame represents that the discrimination ... Show

These components include juxtaposition and direct address to the audience. Juxtaposition is seen when
The Last Post overshadows a didgeridoo, when the Indigenous serviceman returned from war. This
enhances the dramatic meaning as it is conveying that the wider white community overlooked the
actions of Indigenous soldiers. Also, the Last Post is still played today and thus communicates that
there is still prejudice now. Secondly, use of direct address to the audience developed the viewer s
understanding of the dramatic meaning. This is evident as a past soldier is describing the effects of
war and his journey through World War I, and speaking as if the audience were at the event. This
grasped the audience on a personal level and made the address more meaningful. It is through the use
of components of collage drama; juxtaposition and direct audience address that the dramatic meaning

these factors views of the past often vary from person to person. In this essay I will be discussing the
four different stages that shaped the writing of American history over the last 400 years.
According to Couvares, the writing of American history has passed through four stages: the
providential, the rationalist, the nationalist, and the professional. The providential stage took place

Bancroft believed that Anglo Saxons were racially destined to lead and spread freedom across the
globe. With the establishment of John Hopkins University, college education became more common
among middle class Americans, however only wealthy white men still only had access to that kind of
education. This new wave of historians insisted that knowledge of history and physics were of equal
importance.
The final stage of American history and progression according to Couvares, was the professional
stage. Professional scholars rose to prominence from 1910 1945. These historians believed that
modernity, industrialization, urbanization, and class conflict had fundamentally changed society.
Charles Beard argued that the constitution was not the product of wise men intent on balancing liberty
and order, but a clique of wealthy merchants and landowners who wanted a central government strong
enough to defend their privileges against the unruly masses. (Couvares 77 2). Beard also thought that
many of the major conflicts in society were between economic interest groups. Many critics found
flaws in his idealogy, but at the same time it inspired them to find answers to questions that plagued
the people.
Over the past 400 years, these historians all had different stances on how they thought to improve
society. With the mix of cultural backgrounds, and ethnicities no two viewpoints will ever be exactly
the same. Couvares

Write An Essay On The Appalachian Trail
There are many aspects of the Appalachian Trail. The Appalachian trail is 2,200 beautiful miles long.
The trail goes through 14 states and 5 national parks. ¨It runs from Georgia to Maine, making it the
longest marked trail in the country, and one of the longest in the world.¨ 4,019 people hiked the trail in
2010. Out of all the years that the trail has been here only 12,000 hikers actually made it through the
entire trail. The hardest part of the trail is located in Georgia. More than 4,000 volunteers help every
year to keep the trail maintained. The trail began 70 years ago and was a vision of the Benton

Geography Essay
Introduction and Climate
The state of Hawaii is composed of 132 islands, reefs and shoals that extend for over 1500 miles
across the central North Pacific Ocean from the quot;Big Island quot; of Hawaii to midway and Kure
Atolls. The eight main islands of Hawaiian Archipelago include Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai,
Lanai, Nihau and Kahoolawe (listed in order of size) which extend for only 350 miles at the south
eastern end of the volcanic mountain chain. Hawaii includes some of the earth s largest mountains,
rising from oceanic depths of greater than 18,000 feet to a height above sea level of nearly 14,000 feet.
Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island are volcanic mountains with a total relief of 32,000 feet.
The entire Island of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The West side of the Island has near desert like conditions, while the summit of Waialeale is the
wettest spot in the world, with an average rainfall of almost 500 inches per year. Normally, the rugged,
mountainous interior has much more rainfall than the coastal areas where most communities are
located. The Maritime Tropical air mass highly influences Kalalau Valley, Kauai. With its warm and
humid weather that it brings in we see how the Island of Kauai goes from stable to conditionally
unstable. The convectional lifting of the air masses around the Island of Kauai shows how an air mass
passes a maritime source and it causes lifting in the air mass. If the conditions of the Island are
unstable then the lifting is sustained and clouds develop. This is why the temperatures and the rainfall
vary with certain spots. For example, Average rainfall ranges from 35 inches at poipu Beach to 444
inches at the summit of Waialeale. The general circulation that influences Kalalau Valley is the
Northeast trade winds. The subtropical high and the southeast trade winds affect the valley as well.
Mainly the northeast trade winds and the southeast trade winds influence the state of the Hawaiian
Islands. The Island of Kauai and Kalalaua Valley are located in the Tropical Rainforest region. The
pattern of precipitation and temperature for Kauai between January 1st and December 31st, was
between 45 and 70 for temperature in Fahrenheit. The minimum temperature is about 50

Reflection About Witchcraft
About This Book
Many of us move to Witchcraft from some type of Judeo Christian history. It was the Us vs. Them
attitude that a lot of Christians have. Those Christians think that you are either with them, or you are
just wrong.
If what you are used to is less combative, you are acquainted with being part of the Flock . Everybody
in that specific congregation believes the same identical thing.
We are all individuals. No two people are exactly identically and the thought that we all must have the
same identical beliefs is flawed.
In Witchcraft, we know that because we each are unique. We all have unique life events. It s
impossible for any two individuals to have the exact same values and beliefs. What may work for me,
may not work for you.
Because most of us come from that one size fits all tradition, we just instinctively presume that
Witchcraft works the same and vice versa.
That s why so many who are going into Witchcraft become frustrated when two books detail the same
perception differently. After of years of studying, reading and practicing Wicca, I m still learning and
reading. I still have all the books I ve every purchased or was given to me which I do go back to every
now and then.
There is always more to learn and sometimes the way one person may say something you may not
understand, while another may say it differently and you get that Ah ha! moment. I want to help you
find that.
Blessed Be Chapter One: Is Witchcraft Wicca?
Witchcraft is a religion. Wicca

The Creation Of Evil In Frankenstein And Mary Shelley s...
The Creation of Evil . The novel Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley explains many themes and
characters throughout Victor s life and his creation of the monster. In addition, the movie Mary
Shelley s Frankenstein directed by Kenneth Branagh also does the same, but includes a couple twists.
The novel first published in 1818, includes grammar and language from the 19th century. Written in
an older type of English allows for the reader to have a rough, but a more in depth reading of the book.
The movie made in 1994, uses more 20th century language and many filming techniques. Some actors
of the movie include Robert De Niro, who acts as the monster, Helena Bonham Carter plays as
Elizabeth and the director of the movie plays as Victor. Within both works they use different setting
locations, for example the North Arctic Ocean, London, the University of Ingolstadt and others.
Furthermore, the movie also uses these locations to keep the two in sync through the timeline and
events. Both works provide many similarities when it comes to themes. For example, both show how
society reacts to the monster, and the idea of revenge between Victor and his creation. To summarize
the two, in 1794, in the Arctic Sea, Captain Robert Walton is a man obsessed to reach the North Pole,
pushing his crew to exhaustion. In the movie, Walton s ship hits an iceberg and becomes stranded. In
the novel Walton and his crew become stranded because the boat can no longer push through the ice;
so the men

Analysis Of The Book Taken Hostage By David Farber
The United States history during 1977 to 1989 went through two presidencies and whirlwind of events
happened. When President Jimmy Carter became president he wanted to lower the inflation rates to
make life easier for the people of the United States. While that was his goal it got completely derailed.
Near the end of Jimmy Carters presidency, a group of Iranian students took over the U.S Embassy in
Tehran and took people hostage. Over the course of the 444 days the hostages where held captive
while the people of the United States voted for a new president to help lead them into a new direction.
The people voted for Ronald Reagan. While he was president things didn t go as he planned as well.
The issues with Iran did not calm down and escalated to something bigger. After the Iran hostage
crisis, the US had another issues with Iran and it was the Iran Contra affair. During this essay I will be
talking about the book called Taken Hostage by David Farber and the information in the book. The
book is about the time frame of Jimmy Carter s presidency and the issues with Iran and the hostage
crisis. The second half of my essay is towards President Ronald Reagan s and the issues about the Iran
Contra affair and the lasting issues between Iran and the United states.
The book Taken Hostage by David Farber the book starts off giving some background information
about the state and the economic state that the United States was in before the hostage crisis took
place. In 1970 s

Honor as the Theme in Homer’s The Iliad Essay
There are different forms and examples of exemplary and classic literature which have been deemed
as significant works that are highly esteemed worldwide. These examples of literature would awe the
world with how much literary skill they entailed when they were composed and written: attention to
details as to formation of characters, the most crafty of plots, the most eloquent speeches and lines, the
most astounding of twists of scenes, and most of all, the most universal and meaningful of themes.
The theme of any literary work is what makes it great as it should be able to encompass the immense
diversity of the world and as it would be able to transcend the boundaries of religion, age, race,
gender, etc. Two examples of this great and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this circumstance may be easy enough to understand, such setting or background in the plot
actually entails more history: Even before Paris was born, a prophecy was carried out that the
handsome prince would cause the destruction of Troy; thus, King Priam and his queen banished the
baby to be raised in the wilderness. Later on, as a shepherd, he encountered the three goddesses, Hera,
Pallas Athene, and Aphrodite, and set the motion of what would be the war that extinguished the
Trojan line Paris was to decide who is the most beautiful of the goddesses. Each goddess tried to bribe
him with promises of power, riches, fame, and glory, but it was Aphrodite who succeeded in the end as
she promised Paris that he can have the most beautiful mortal, Helen. This simple arrangement would
then serve as the catalyst of a war that would kill thousands of Trojans and Greeks as soon it is
revealed that Paris has stolen Helen and the gods and goddesses of Olympus have each taken sides on
the war which would further complicate the lives of the people of Troy and Greece. (Buck Jr. , 11 12)
The Iliad opens in the predicament of the Greeks who have somehow incurred the wrath of the gods. It
is here that Agamemnon, supreme commander of the Grecian army, demand that Achilles give up his
prize (Briseis) to replace his own prize (Chrysies) which he has to give up to appease the gods.
Agamemnon has to

Gorbachev s Impact On The Soviet Union
In March of 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev becomes general secretary of the Communist Party, bringing
with him a wave of reform. His reform appeared in the form of a dual program, perestroika (to
restructure) and glasnost (openness), changing the Soviet Union s domestic governmental policies,
economic practices, and international relations for Gorbachev felt that his goals to improve the Soviet
Union s economy couldn t be done without reforming the political and social structures as well.
Gorbachev hoped that his reforms would reorganize and revive the USSR s economy, as it had been
stagnant since the Brezhnev years. Gorbachev s call for an intense technological modernization was in
the hopes of increasing industrial and agricultural productivity in order to increase efficiency and
productivity. Whether Gorbachev was successful in his aims of economic rejuvenation will be
examined within this essay, by examining perestroika and glasnost. When Gorbachev came into
power, he realized that the Soviet Union and nations under the Soviet Union s control were struggling,
their economies floundering, and the people were suffering. It was time for change. Gorbachev saw
that in order to stabilize Russia a new approach was needed in order to properly address the situation
in which the Soviet Union had found itself. Through the use of two overarching concepts, perestroika
and glasnost, Gorbachev unintentionally began to deconstruct the communist party and the USSR
itself. In 1986,

  • 3. The Legal Field At Point Park University Yogi Berra believed that, Baseball is 90 percent mental and the other half is physical. From my tenure as a college softball pitcher at Point Park University, I learned how imperative being mentally sound is to the game of softball. The legal field is a very demanding field. I know my experiences gained on the diamond will allow me to flourish in a field dependent upon mental toughness. Foremost, being a pitcher made me realize how important it is to have a short term memory. When I was on the mound, I knew that the result of the previous batter had no bearing on what the next batter would do. For example, when I gave up a big hit, before the next batter came to the plate, I had to forget about what just happened. In softball, it is important to not dwell on the negatives, but learn from them. Because of pitching, I know yesterday s failures can turn into tomorrow s successes. I plan to have the same attitude in the legal field when obstacles come my way. In addition, pitching has taught me that there are some things in life that I will never be able to control. Success on the mound is dependent on a variety of factors. Umpires, field conditions, the weather, and plays my team made all had an impact on the on the outcome of a game. When it was raining, I understood that I had no control over the weather. However, I could make small adjustments to my routine to preform better in unfavorable conditions. In a similar manner, when an umpire made a call I did not agree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prokaryotes which only has a single membrane can only control the rate which DNA is transcribed by regulating activation of proteins needed for transcription/translation while eukaryotic cells can regulate gene expression in multiple and complex ways due to the compartmentalization of the nucleus with a membrane. The outermost membrane is connected to the endoplasmic reticulum resulting for the two organelles to effectively share the same membrane. This makes it accessible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It also gives us a view of what the society is in the context of when it was written and what the author is trying to express through words. The words as a tool in poetry may seem ordinary when used in ordinary circumstance. Yet, these words can hold more emotion and thought, however brief it was presented. What makes a good poetry? It is not only in the idea or thought of what the author is trying to express. What makes a good poetry beautiful is in how the writer makes use of the words, lines, and spaces and indents. The growth of internet coupled with the rise in networked infrastructure has resulted in exponential increase in the multimedia content being shared over the communication networks. The advancement in technology has resulted in increase in multimedia piracy. This is due to the fact that it is very easy to copy, duplicate and distributes multimedia content using current day technology. In such a scenario Digital Rights Management is one of the prominent issues to be dealt with and tremendous work is going on in this direction round the globe. Digital watermarking and fingerprinting have emerged as fundamental technologies to cater to DRM issues. These technologies have been found to be of prominent use in content authentication, copy protection, copyright control, broadcast monitoring and forensic applications. Various requirements of a digital watermarking system include Imperceptibility, Robustness, Security, Payload and Computational complexity. The main requirement of real time DRM systems is lesser computational complexity and high robustness. This chapter proposes and analyses a robust and computational efficient Image watermarking technique in spatial domain based on Inter Block Pixel Difference (IBPD). The cover image is divided into 8×8 non overlapping blocks and difference between intensities of two pixels of adjacent blocks at predefined positions is calculated. Depending upon the watermark bit to be embedded; both the pixels are modified to bring the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

James Thomas Flexner captures the man, not the myth, behind this legendary icon in one concise single volume biography, Washington: the Indispensable Man. This book is a condensed but altogether new version of Flexner s previous four volume biography of George Washington. This smaller scale book is well written, and explores Washington as the human being behind the legendary icon (New York Times Book Review) to bring the reader to a closer relation to a man removed by time and history. Of time and history, George Washington had a great deal more of it which Flexner had to cover. Washington was a major national figure for twenty four years from his election as Commander in Chief to his death, and he was hardly twenty when his role in the French and Indian War made him internationally known. The wide ranging subject of Washington must have been difficult to fit into one encapsulated volume, but Flexner manages not only to do that but also writes straightforward in thought with flowing ideas and logical conclusions. The first chapter, of course, starts from George s Birth and tells of his childhood of growing admiration for the wilds of the frontier and the British Army. A little later, the book moves forward to Washington s first military blunder in inciting the French and Indian War which makes the name George Washington internationally known. • 11. The Neolithic Revolution Lasting Impacts and Legacies of Events and People in Ancient History Section One The Neolithic Revolution In Neolithic lecture and presentation, the Neolithic advances are described in detail. The Neolithic period is crucial to later history, and created a lasting impact, because of the developments made at this time. During the Neolithic period, food production was changed; agriculture and livestock raising was invented, this secured a stable food supply. These inventions created the foundation of the food industry as we know it today. Having a steady supply of food then set into motion the other developments of the era. A stockpile of food meant that communities could save the food for later, creating a food surplus, and this overabundance of food allowed for an increase in population. Another result of the food surplus was gaining the ability to trade with other communities for other raw materials and goods. The majority of people no longer needed to work as food producers, so specialized craftsman in the communities evolved and developed. The individuals who remained working as food producers could then trade with the craftsman for their work or product, and both would benefit from the exchange. Social classes also emerged from the Neolithic Revolution. The classes were based on wealth and status; individuals and groups that gained control of a food surplus could gain power in the community by having control over the distribution of it. Cardiac muscle also contains intercalated disc, which acts as a junction between the two muscle cells in order to communicate. Also, the cell contains no motor nerve terminals. The extracellular calcium ions and the cells of the heart act as a stimulus allowing it to contract via electrical impulse. The cardiomyocytes/ myocardiocyteal muscle cells and the one nucleus makes up the cardiac muscle. Skeletal muscles are the muscles that are under the control of the somatic nervous system (voluntary) and are striated. Also they have many nuclei and are triggered into motion via electrical impulses from the motor neuron terminals connected to the muscle fibres. These motor neurons are coordinated by the central nervous system and are networked. A bundle of collagen fibres known as tendons is usually attached to bones of the muscle. He had already begun when Disneyland opened in 1955. Opening day was successful in numbers: the freeway had a seven mile backup, an estimated 15,000 people were coming, but 28,000 showed up that day (Klein). Purchasing the Land Before there could be any ideas about what the new park would look like, a location had to be determined. Walt Disney searched all across the United States. He needed an area with lots of land; Walt said he would never make the mistake of not purchasing land around the structured park because as soon as Disneyland opened, it was surrounded by tacky stores, restaurants, hotels and gift shops. Although we like to think that Biofuel is a relatively new fuel technology that has been developed as of late, it is not. Biofuel energy and its usage can be traced back as far as our ancient ancestors. Wood, the first form of biofuel, was as many know used by our ancient ancestors to produce fire. Our ancestors used this form of fuel for obvious reasons such as to keep warm, and for cooking. Other biofuels, commonly referred to as first generation biofuels, are produced directly from food crops. The biofuel is ultimately derived from the starch, sugar, animal fats, and vegetable oil that these crops provide. Corn, wheat, and sugar cane are the most commonly used first generation biofuel. Corn is probably the most recognized first generation biofuel, due to the fact that it is used in the production of ethanol. Corn, like many biofuels has its advantages and disadvantages to the environment. Some advantages are that Infrastructure for planting, harvesting, and processing is already in place, majority of the plant is used for energy production (little waste). • 27. Reflection About Witchcraft About This Book Many of us move to Witchcraft from some type of Judeo Christian history. It was the Us vs. Them attitude that a lot of Christians have. Those Christians think that you are either with them, or you are just wrong. If what you are used to is less combative, you are acquainted with being part of the Flock . Everybody in that specific congregation believes the same identical thing. We are all individuals. No two people are exactly identically and the thought that we all must have the same identical beliefs is flawed. In Witchcraft, we know that because we each are unique. We all have unique life events. It s impossible for any two individuals to have the exact same values and beliefs. What may work for me, may not work for you. Because most of us come from that one size fits all tradition, we just instinctively presume that Witchcraft works the same and vice versa. That s why so many who are going into Witchcraft become frustrated when two books detail the same perception differently. After of years of studying, reading and practicing Wicca, I m still learning and reading. I still have all the books I ve every purchased or was given to me which I do go back to every now and then. There is always more to learn and sometimes the way one person may say something you may not understand, while another may say it differently and you get that Ah ha! moment. I want to help you find that. Blessed Be Chapter One: Is Witchcraft Wicca? Witchcraft is a religion. Wicca ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. The Creation Of Evil In Frankenstein And Mary Shelley s... The Creation of Evil . The novel Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley explains many themes and characters throughout Victor s life and his creation of the monster. In addition, the movie Mary Shelley s Frankenstein directed by Kenneth Branagh also does the same, but includes a couple twists. The novel first published in 1818, includes grammar and language from the 19th century. Written in an older type of English allows for the reader to have a rough, but a more in depth reading of the book. The movie made in 1994, uses more 20th century language and many filming techniques. Some actors of the movie include Robert De Niro, who acts as the monster, Helena Bonham Carter plays as Elizabeth and the director of the movie plays as Victor. Within both works they use different setting locations, for example the North Arctic Ocean, London, the University of Ingolstadt and others. Furthermore, the movie also uses these locations to keep the two in sync through the timeline and events. Both works provide many similarities when it comes to themes. For example, both show how society reacts to the monster, and the idea of revenge between Victor and his creation. To summarize the two, in 1794, in the Arctic Sea, Captain Robert Walton is a man obsessed to reach the North Pole, pushing his crew to exhaustion. In the movie, Walton s ship hits an iceberg and becomes stranded. In the novel Walton and his crew become stranded because the boat can no longer push through the ice; so the men ... Later on, as a shepherd, he encountered the three goddesses, Hera, Pallas Athene, and Aphrodite, and set the motion of what would be the war that extinguished the Trojan line Paris was to decide who is the most beautiful of the goddesses. Each goddess tried to bribe him with promises of power, riches, fame, and glory, but it was Aphrodite who succeeded in the end as she promised Paris that he can have the most beautiful mortal, Helen. This simple arrangement would then serve as the catalyst of a war that would kill thousands of Trojans and Greeks as soon it is revealed that Paris has stolen Helen and the gods and goddesses of Olympus have each taken sides on the war which would further complicate the lives of the people of Troy and Greece. His reform appeared in the form of a dual program, perestroika (to restructure) and glasnost (openness), changing the Soviet Union s domestic governmental policies, economic practices, and international relations for Gorbachev felt that his goals to improve the Soviet Union s economy couldn t be done without reforming the political and social structures as well. Gorbachev hoped that his reforms would reorganize and revive the USSR s economy, as it had been stagnant since the Brezhnev years. Gorbachev s call for an intense technological modernization was in the hopes of increasing industrial and agricultural productivity in order to increase efficiency and productivity. Whether Gorbachev was successful in his aims of economic rejuvenation will be examined within this essay, by examining perestroika and glasnost. When Gorbachev came into power, he realized that the Soviet Union and nations under the Soviet Union s control were struggling, their economies floundering, and the people were suffering. It was time for change. Gorbachev saw that in order to stabilize Russia a new approach was needed in order to properly address the situation in which the Soviet Union had found itself.
