Yahoo Corporate Governance in Microsoft Takeover
Yahoo Corporate Governance and the Microsoft Takeover We are studying the potential buyout of
Yahoo by Microsoft from the perspective of Yahoo s Board of Directors. Yahoo! Inc. provides Internet
services to users, advertisers, publishers and developers worldwide. It offers online properties and
services to users; and marketing solutions and tools to advertisers and publishers. For example, Yahoo!
Finance is a portal for information on general financial conditions and specific firm information. It is
also the second largest internet search engine on the planet, behind Google, which is also their main
competitor. Jerry Yang, 39, is Co Founder, CEO, Chief Yahoo! and Executive Director and Susan L.

For the past few years, Microsoft Corporation, the software behemoth located in Redmond
Washington, has been looking to acquire Yahoo!, Inc. While Microsoft Corp. has numerous reasons to
be interested in acquiring Yahoo!, there are few options available for Yahoo! Inc. Like Google s
purchase of Double Click in 2007, Microsoft sees Yahoo! as a way to extract internet advertising
revenue. Further, Microsoft has for years sought to build a winning portal that could dominate the
search engine market, currently dominated by Google. MSN was Microsoft s version of AOL. Even
after years of Research Development in this area, Microsoft still only has 19% of the internet search
engine market (and that s because of ISP bundling and desktop default presets.) Actual search engine
use of MSN is much lower than 19%. Google is a money maker and has a dominating market share.
Beyond the search engine market, there also is that innovation nirvana for which Microsoft is always
searching. It wasn t Hotmail, it wasn t MSN maps, it wasn t SoapBox, and the list of Microsoft Corp.

unsolicited offer of $44.6 billion for a complete buyout of Yahoo! Was rejected by Yahoo! s board.
Microsoft has continued to revise their bids, increasing it to $47.5B to no avail. This initial bid was
$31 per share a 62% premium for

Today S Chinese Characters Were Officially Established
Today s Chinese characters were officially established very recently, but they have one of the longest
histories in the world. Chinese characters have continuously developed for more than three thousand
years and finally the characters that are currently used are officially confirmed just around 50 years
ago, actually in 1956 by The First Scheme of Simplified Chinese Characters and in 1977 by The
Second Scheme of Simplified Chinese Characters . By means of simplification, history is divided
before and after the 20th century, but until 1949, when Quin dynasty to the Republic of China ended,
only 324 simplified characters had been recognized by the government. According to the video lecture
conducted by Dr. Xiaoting Li, Chinese scripts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover in Qin dynasty, especially under the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, the Small Seal
scripts were created. In the former era there were hundreds of territories. This means there were
hundreds of ways of handwritings. However, his policy was the centralization of power so he wanted
to know about all of his territories. He divided his land into 36 parts, sent his subordinates to each
part, and made them record the information about the lands in order to grasp the width, population, or
products. His subordinates recorded about each lands in their originally simplified characters and
sometimes the emperor had difficulty in reading them. So in order to rule the country efficiently, less
complex scripts were adopted officially. Unification of writing system meant consolidation of power,
especially that writing is used I taxation, trade exchange, day to day communication, etc. Small seal
script unified not only the forms and variations, but also the methods of writing, by introducing rules
of writing, proportions, and symmetry (Ryuurui). In this sentences, the words unification and unified
emphasizes the importance of establishing simplified standard characters. Therefore, the improvement
of political systems, especially land systems, and the simplification of Chinese characters are deeply
related. Second, the improvement of letterpress printing technology largely affected the simplification
of Chinese characters. Although in the 15th century

In the beginning of the movie, Osmosis Jones, Frank, the zookeeper, eats an egg that was in a monkey

Impressionism In Claude Monet
One may consider Claude Monet s Impression, Sunrise (Fig.1) his most crucial work throughout his
career as an artist. This artwork was made in the year 1872 and the medium used in the creation of this
work was oil on canvas. In the book, Monet: The Ultimate Impressionist, it is stated that the work was
more focused on capturing the experience of a moment than realistically rendering a scene (Patin 39).
This illustrates the basis from which Impressionism defines itself. Instead of expressing a realistic
portrait of the harbour, Claude Monet chose to demonstrate it in an expressive manner. Whilst doing
this, he makes use of the contrasting effects of the rising sun and the bluish water, representing the sun
as a prominent subject in the painting. The work plays with the disparity of the faint bluish tones of
the area with the bright orange tone of the sun, illustrating how Claude Monet makes use of the
nuances of light to create this effect. Despite the contrast ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every aspect of the painting is depicted in respect to light. What the Impressionist painters actually
accomplished was the finding of a form closer to the first impression for the appearance of things than
other painters had. And it was closer because of their vivid sensibility whereby they understood the
absolute value in art of the appearance, and their mind was sufficiently free of traditional principles of
abstract form to undervalue their impressions (Venturi 38) Rather than saying that Monet depicted the
work s subjects in abstract forms, he expressed them with the intention of representing them in forms
closer to his first impressions of them such as the figures of the boats and the people portrayed on the
water s surface. In respect to this, he defines their figures relatively to the variations of lighting,
presenting the elements in a more simplistic manner yet expressive on as

Analysis Of The Book The House On Mango Street
Taylor Christensen Mrs.Evans Fourth Period November, 7th 2016 The House on Mango Street In the
novel, The House on Mango Street , author Sandra Cisneros portrays a story of a young girl,
Esperanza who is completely dissatisfied with her life. She yearns for what she considers a perfect
house and various other items that she believes will make her existence perfect. As she finds out who
she truly is and what she is really good at, she becomes the person she had hidden all along. She was
lost inside someone who was so conceited, and hoped for things that could never even happen.
Unfortunately, when someone does not accept the realities of their life, maybe to make it better at
some point, their situation becomes intolerable because this individual keeps searching for something
that is unattainable. When her sister, Nene is mentioned in the story Esperanza always proclaims Nene
as not a good enough friend/sister, another example of how nothing is good enough for her. Esperanza
always says everything about her is bad luck, her name, her family history even the date she was born.
On the Chinese calendar she is a horse which is bad luck. Born like me in the Chinese year of the
horse which is supposed to be bad luck if you re born female but I think it s a Chinese lie because the
Chinese, like the Mexicans, don t like their women strong (Cisneros 12). Already defeated, if you are

Too Much Violence and Bullying among Adolescents
Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of youth violence and social/relational
bullying incidents among adolescents. Dresler Hawke and Whitehead (2009, p. 195) define relational
bullying as a form of victimization whereby peer relationships are purposefully undermined with the
intention of socially excluding individuals. Relational bullying relates to the adolescent as this is an
indirect form of bullying that has a negative impact on the social development of this population
(Vessey, DiFazio, and Strout, 2013, p. 338). This paper focuses on the negative impacts that bullying
has on an adolescent s social development (isolation, difficulties within peer relationships, and
decreased social status) and the interventions that nurses use to promote health and wellness on bullied
victims.
The importance of developing peer relationships is crucial to adolescent development. Adolescents
growing up in a safe and healthy environment among their peers helps foster a positive growth,
development, and well being (Dresler Hawke et. al., 2009, p. 196). Barbara Jones Warren (2011, p. 22)
states that a primary goal of bullying is to socially exclude or isolate individuals from others with a
school or workplace setting. Relational bullying has a negative impact as adolescents become socially
withdrawn from their peers and experience feelings of loneliness and rejection. As a result, this
impacts their academic performance and attendance, causing them to withdraw from

Justice System In Robert Louis Stevenson s Just Mercy
In the first half of Stevenson s Just Mercy, he depicts this almost binary system within his experiences
in the justice system: a majority class and a vulnerable class, with a few outliers in between. The
majority class operates for those in power and actively against the vulnerable. By attacking the
vulnerable, it performs as almost a fuel for those within the system who have ambition to ascend its
ranks. For example, by Alabama using elections to select its judges (70), this allows the system to
uphold the desires and opinions of those in the majority, without any checks and balances on the
equity of the system and its integrity to the law. The system, in a sense, becomes an arm of the
majority, not an institution grounded in equitable justice

In Beyond Good And Evil
The most widespread story in human history describes the horrors of Nazi Germany. Recreated in
novels, movies, writings, and theatre, this brutal tragedy is familiar in the minds of all. Seemingly
enthralled by the captivating tale, our interminable interest in the Nazis is habitual, neurotic, and
borderline obsessive. Why does it so easily capture our attention? Observers figure that this macabre
story signifies the lowest of lows in our pathetic and quondam attempt to be sivilized. Perhaps our
fascination with this historic tale lies in the baseless optimism that our whole world may soon
experience a Damascene conversion. After the impending growth and development of Greece and

Oil Sands
In this essay I will use the social issue of oil sands and its impact on climate change to critically
compare the social order and class struggle perspectives in social theory. To examine the social order
perspective, I will use the theories of Robert Merton and Harold Garfinkel. For the class perspective
theory, I will use the theories of Pierre Bourdieu and Immanuel Wallenstein. The social order
perspective explains the social issue of climate change in terms of how the social structures of the
economy enforce and produce the ways in which people discuss climate change. Its main strength is
that it identifies how the economy is able to shape discussions and create a sense of order around the
opposing conflict of interest between the economy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Merton s theory derives from the fundamentalist perspective in which he defines manifest functions as
the easily recognizable and intended outcomes, whereas latent functions are unintended. Merton
argues the distinction between manifest and latent functions has significant value and that both
functions need to be recognized as an approach to explaining any social phenomena (Powell 2017:
Feb 15). Latent functions are not necessarily the anticipated outcome, however a closer examination
of this function can lead to a better understanding of a social relation or patterns observed (Longofer
Winchester, 2016). For instance, in applying the social issue of climate change to Merton s manifest
and latent theory, it is clear the manifest function of oil sands is for refineries to extract the oil to
produce fuel (energy source). As a result of increased reliance on oil sands as fuel, the process of
refining oil and clearing land to extract the oil from these oil sands, releases tons of pollution into the
atmosphere, creating the phenomena known as climate change. The perceived function of oil sands is
not to harmful to the environment, however; it becomes the negative consequence of the objective.
Although the manifest function does not recognize that the use of oil sands leads to an increased threat
of the environment, the latent function is able to identify the relationship. This latent function leads to
the reexamination of the use of oil sand and how our society collectively moves on about making
informed decisions regarding both the production and the rate at which we use

Summary and Critique of The Gift of Sex Essay
A Book Review of The Gift of Sex University Abstract This paper is a summary of the book The Gift
of Sex along with my responses for each section in the book. Along with the physical aspect of sex,
there is a spiritual aspect of sex, which is mostly neglected by today s culture and even by Christians.
The authors believe that sex is also a spiritual and emotional act, involving the total person, the body,
soul and spirit. There is a connection with the sexual relationship of a husband and his wife, and the
intimate relationship of God and man. Revelation of this reality would bring freedom and fulfillment
in God and in marriage. There are many aspects to a sexual relationship between a husband and wife,

Scriptures such as Jeremiah 7:9, 23:10; Isaiah 62:5; and the entire book of Hosea reveal that the
relationship of God and His people is compared to a marriage relationship. The symbolism of the
bride and groom is depicted in the New Testament in scriptures such as Ephesians 5 and Revelation
19:6 7. The authors believe that sex is not just for unity and procreation, but also for pleasure in the
marriage relationship. The Song of Songs is poetry of the erotic relationship between a man and his
wife, which is filled with passionate feelings. Christ has broken down the barriers between men and
women, and therefore they do not have to live by different standards of sexual pleasure any longer.
Men and women are equal in terms of value, ability, and position before God. Therefore, both husband
and wife are commanded to give themselves to each other in marriage, with love being the guiding
principle for sexual behavior. Penner and Penner (2003) believe that, it is important for Christian
couples to understand the Bible s pro sex message (Kindle Location 425). I agree that sexuality
reflects an aspect of the image of God in us and I believe that the church should openly speak out
about the biblical perspective of the gift of sex. The concept of marriage is portrayed in the
relationship the church has with Christ. God desires an intimate relationship with each one of us; one
that reflects the depth of a sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Sexual

Happiness Is Not What I Thought It Was
Blog: Happiness was not what I thought it was
As humans, we often look for happiness in the wrong places or for the wrong reasons. We even
sometimes expect happiness by doing something that makes others happy but unfortunately, that does
not work for everyone. A lot of the times we are followers when we should be leaders; we may see
something that seems sensational for others and try it instead of searching for happiness ourselves. In
other circumstances, we do certain things to keep others happy, and forget about what makes us happy.
When applying for college, I thought that going outside of Texas for school would make me happy. I

I never thought that the location of a university such as whether it was in a rural or urban area could
impact me either. After all, no one seems to talk about what affect students in college. The media
usually just shows the happy moments, but not the reality and it is why most students go into college
expecting to have the time of their lives. Thus, I ended up choosing a school with a well recognized
engineering program and figured that would be enough. It was also a bittersweet feeling knowing my
family was proud, and at the time that made me very happy. As the semester began, things began to
get quite serious. The school that I thought was good enough was not. I was coming from a graduating
class of one hundred students and felt very overwhelmed in a school of fifty thousand students. The
core class sizes were about 250 300 students. It was very difficult to get to know your professors as
well as to find academic support. Not to mention the location of the campus where 50% of the
population were students. Coming from a big city, it was hard to adjust to a small town, in the middle
of nowhere and with completely new people. It felt as if I was trapped in a bubble, with nowhere to
go. At the beginning, I thought it was normal to feel lonely and homesick, since it was my first time
going away from home and it was the first time for many students as well. I knew I was not the only
one feeling homesick and hoped things would get better.

Greek Culture Vs Roman Culture
The Greeks created some of the first types of culture aspects and political aspects while the Romans
borrowed some of them and developed them into greater ones. Because of this, there are many
similarities between them. However, since the Romans came later than the Greeks, there were some
differences also. Even though the Greeks and Romans had a similar religion, architecture, and
government, they also had some differences as well.
During the Greek era, the citizens would worship the gods, who had control over the weather and the
spirits of the city states. They would even hold the Olympic games in order to honor Zeus, the king of
all the gods. The gods were also usually depicted naked and war like. They would also protect some
city states.

Sex Education And Public Schools Essay
In this paper I will address virginity, first sexual experiences, sex education in public schools, and
abortion. The first two topics, virginity and first sexual experiences, coming from a personal
perspective as well as some credible sources. I will also include the historical aspects of virginity, the
creation and use of the concept, and why it s in our society. The last topic is my concern for the lack of
sex education in public schools and mentioning the harm of abstinence only sex education and the
importance to provide comprehensive education for our youth for protection and lifelong sexual
satisfaction. I will also include my experience with sex education and how limited or censored topics
can be detrimental to children by second guessing their understanding of necessary and critical sexual
information.
Virginity. Anyone is familiar with the term virginity. Whichever way the word was introduced to us all
throughout our lives we have either been taught by parents or educators about the word and the
concept of virginity or we have figured it out by word of mouth among our peers. By definition,
according to a simple Google search, virginity is the state of never having had sexual intercourse or
the state of being naive, innocent, or inexperienced in a particular context. With the concept of

African Americans And African American History
As African Americans we need to know the history of our ancestors in order to make the next
generation better. African Americans need to know the struggles and hardships that our ancestors had
to go through that pave the way for my generation and the generations after me. It is important to
know how our ancestors had to endure slavery. If the older generation does not continue to pay
homage to the history of our ancestors, the younger generation will lose sight of what our ancestors
have been through (Roberts, 2011). The younger generation is not interested in African American
History. It is about what someone can do for them. The younger generation wants everything handed
to them not to work for it because the younger generation thinks the world owe them something. The
younger generation does not have respect for their elders now. As African Americans we should not
forget the segregation and the hanging and deaths of African Americans because of the color of their
skin. It is also important because racism still exist today (Roberts, 2011). There are still racist white
people that do not want the world to change (Roberts, 2011). There are some white people that want to
go back to slavery because white people think African Americans are not worthy (Roberts, 2011).
White people do not want African Americans to know about their history because there were
intelligent African Americans that were inventors. Some examples of African American inventors are:

Miranda Fricker s Concept Of Epistemic Injustice
Miranda Fricker s Concept of Epistemic Injustice
In Miranda Fricker s article Testimonial Injustice, she highlights the significant effects for the
connection of ethics and epistemology. Ethics is one of the philosophies branches that asks the
question, What is a good life or how to live a good life? Epistemology is the theory of philosophy that
ask the questions, What do you know? and How do you know it? Fricker basically, combines the two
subjects at the matter and produced the concept of epistemic injustice. According to Fricker, epistemic
injustices comes in the form of testimonial injustice.
Testimonial injustice involves preconceived opinions that are not based on reason or actual
experience. In which, causes any individual to put a label on another individual s words as a
credibility deficit or a credibility excess. Fricker highlights, anyone can be a victim of epistemic
injustices. In this paper, I will support Fricker s argument that epistemic injustice creates wrongfully
prejudgments about other s credibility of their knowledge. She thinks that people should change their
perceptions and then their beliefs to give people around them a fair chance to prove their credibility. I
will be defending her through examples and back her up in some objection that other s may have
against her theory.
According to Fricker, epistemic injustice can occur every day because people tend to fill their minds
with prejudicial stereotypes and social power. A disadvantage of

Because when isolated is not a problem but when it is joint effort then there is purpose and goals
behind it. Then real reforms have to happen because of the amount of numbers. Russian peasants
accounted for eighty per cent of the Russian population at this time. When eighty per cent of your
population wants something and is not opposed to take things by force then there are serious problems
for the Russian autocracy.
The positive side of the emancipation of the serfs was plentiful in its achievements. The emancipation
was a prelude to the most sustained program of sustained reform that imperial Russia had experienced.
It also accomplished these great reforms without violence or mass coercion. It is pretty evident that the
only way that this could have been achieved was through a government of an absolute ruler; it could
have not been done by a nation ruled by democracy. The only other social change that is even
comparable to the emancipation of the serfs is the freeing of the African American slaves in 1865.
However this should still be held to a lesser degree the emancipation of the serfs. This is because some
fifty million serfs were set free without any violent implications or precursors. [2]
A key reform falling on the positive side of the emancipation was the restructuring of the local
government. The land from the landowner was granted to the commune and not the peasant.[3] These
peasant communes were responsible

A Rambled Misadventure Short Story
A Rambled Misadventure
Now, to get this little fiasco kicked off I need to address something. Though yes this is first person I
am not apart of the story, nor did I hear this story from someone else. I was able to watch this terrible
misadventure, but I wasn t there to add to the ordeal. Think of me like these sorry group of misfits
guardian angel. instead of me helping them out of trouble, I laugh and watch when they get into and
subsequently try to get out of it. Our heroes start out this screw up of monumental proportions with
being arrested. The second, I had to remove the first due to budget cuts, was a thief or whatever he
was caught trying to take some gold from someone. The final was some warrior, he was trying to hit
people s kneecaps with his hammer, so the guards were, obviously, not too happy about that.
So the day of the trial they were grouped up together, because plot. When the judge first saw the group
his eyes lit up, sat up straight and beckoned one of his consultants over. they talked for a while pointed
and finally they stopped. The judge looked over at the group, smiled maniacally and said Alright I ve
got proposition, you guys get us this dog that s in that tomb outside and we ll set you free. the thief
realized early that this was suicide and then asked if they could just serve their time. The judge,
through laughter, responded with a wave of his hand and the assembly of rejects was pushed to the

Same Kind Of Different As Me By Ron Hall And Denver Moore
Same Kind of Different as Me, by Ron Hall and Denver Moore was a very easy read. In this short
story there are many controversial topics that are touched on. Although it was an easy read, I thought
it was very intellectually stimulating. This book made me question my faith and my actions, which
then ultimately lead to improvements and understandings in my own life. I do not think the formatting
was done all that well, but somehow the two separate authors seemed to complement each other in
alternating chapters. This book made me feel good and had lots of meaningful moments. I even teared
up a little when certain events happened (not a spoiler). This book also makes apparent some issues
that many people do not even realize. It has a very good

Donald Trump Persuasive
Trump to Triumph or Trump to Dump
The U.S. presidential election of 2016 is one of the most discussed topics of the year. There has been a
number of debates contrasting each of the presidential candidates between each other and with
previous presidents such as President Barrack Obama. However, the most talked about candidate has
been none other than Donald Trump. As well known business man who was granted a great deal of
money from his father, Donald Trump s presidency campaign was a huge surprise to many people, as
he was seen more as an entrepreneur rather than a politician. While speeches and campaigns continued
throughout the year, there has been a huge controversy, as Donald Trump has a possible chance of

Is that really an effective and possible way to help America s economy? Trump also recites in one of
his speeches that no one would be tougher on ISIS than himself. As this would be great, we aren t
given any explanation or evidence as to how he would be tough on them. In fact, he doesn t give much
evidence as to how he would do most of the things he proclaims to do. He states that the American
Dream is dead, but convinces people that he will be able to bring it back and better than ever before.
There is no actual proof that the American Dream is dead and he gives no actual insight on how he
would bring it back better than before.
Just like most people, Trump makes great promises that he most likely will not be able to live up to.
Therefore, the only way we can stop Trump from becoming the President of the United States of
America is by persuading the people who support Trump to not vote for him during the election. Even
though this year s presidential candidates are not very strong, there are other options other than
Donald Trump, who would better suite leading the

Negotiation Is Not An Easy Process
Negtiation is a strategic process of reconciling differences in interest and coming to a mutual
resolution through cooperation that is percieved fair for both of involved parties (Fells 2012). The
negotiation that was analysed in the Enterprise Agreement Negotiation Report, demonstrates that
negotiation is not an easy process nor its orderly, since it is the activity and not the segment that
determines the phase of a negotiation. According to Halpert et al. s Path model, negotiation consists of
different phases such as preparation, differentiation, exploration, and exchange. The preparation phase
in our previous negotiation became an essential part that played a role of evaluation of both parties

different phases of a negotiation without losing the goal in mind. An effective negotiator takes time to

while taking into consideration other party s intrests to finding a common ground. Concequently those

The Detrimental Effects Of Sleep Deprivation On Cognitive
Introduction Sleep deprivation is a phenomena which has been extensively studied on its own, but the
effects of sleep deprivation on cognition and working memory in particular have been an area of
interest to a lot of researchers. The research done on this topic has collectively found that sleep
deprivation has detrimental affects on cognition. Studies such as the experiment conducted by Joo,
Yoon, Koo, Kim, and Hong in 2012 outline how sleep deprivation can result in deficits in cognition.

Dome Tents
There are many different types of camping tents, and the tent that you choose will depend heavily on
the type of camping that you will be doing. The tent that you choose for a family vacation will likely
differ from the tent that you would choose to take with you on a hiking trip. Before deciding on a tent,
you should first ask yourself what you will need from the tent that you choose. Will you be constantly
putting it up and taking it down on a hiking trip? If so, you should try to find a camping tent that is
easily set up, and easily taken down to save yourself some time. There are many different styles of

tents to set up, and you should always ensure that you have enough time int he day left to put the tent

Ridge Tents
Ridge tents are generally used by one person, and are not ideal for families. These tents are among the

Hoosiers is a film about second chances. It s about a small town basketball team making a comeback
from their loosing streak with the help of their new head coach. The Hickory Huskers begin their
season with new coach Norman Dale, whose coaching techniques rile up the townspeople and parents.
He arrives at the school being a decade out of coaching the game and having a troubled past. Coach
Dale is thrown many challenges with the townspeople not trusting him, the team s best player not
playing and the fact that the small town team is overmatched. However, his optimism, motivation and

According to the film, Hickory, Indiana is a place where basketball players are treated like gods . The
town takes basketball very seriously, it is literally a way of life for them. The Hickory Huskers may
not be the best team in the area, but the community is very supportive of the team. Every week the
whole town comes together for the games to cheer on the Hickory Huskers and the townspeople have
meeting to try coming up with solutions to help better their performance. However, the towns
approach is aggressive and their strategies to win are different from Coach Dales. For example, a
group of men from the town barge into one of the team s practices and criticize Coach Dale that they
should be practicing with the ball instead of doing strength exercises. Coach Dale believed that for the

Pros And Cons Of E-Learning
E learning
E learning is a new field of learning based on technologies that emerged in last few decades. The
number of learners who use e learning is increasing and become larger than before. This article shows
an overview of e learning , pros , and cons of using it.
Definition of e learning e learning defined as learning utilizing electronic technologies to access
educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom (what is learning?, n.d ). Another definition
is is an umbrella term that describes education using electronic devices and digital media (E learning,
November, 5, 2015). The letter e refers to electronic , Luskin (2001) explains e as exciting, energetic,
emotional, and educational..
History of e learning
The term e learning has been used frequently since the development of internet in late of 20th century,
distance courses has been offered by educational institutions and academies for learners who want to
learn specific subjects and skills or for those who prefer e learning due to their real life circumstances.
In 1984, the first software MAC give people opportunity for individuals to have computers in their
homes and establish easier learning through online. Also, by the year of 2000 , many of companies
and institutions used e learning to train and improve their employees to gain basics to be suitable for
their jobs. Tools for successful e learning such as internet, computers , and laptops become widespread
around the world (Gogos,2014). Approaches of e learning

from place shift . There are many examples of synchronous learning such as virtual classroom,
audio/video conferencing, online lectures, listening to a live radio broadcast, and two way live satellite
broadcast .( Yakaraju G ,2014)
Desynchronous learning
The main distinction between synchronous learning and this approach is that no interaction between
trainer and learners because learning and teaching process occurs in separated times (not at the same

Immigration Into Canada
Immigration Into Canada
Abstract This paper is concerned with the recent wave of Hong Kong immigrants into Vancouver. The
stage is set for this discussion by first explaining some background behind Canadian immigration
policy and then discussing the history of
Chinese immigrants in Vancouver. From these discussions we are informed that
Canadian immigration policy was historically ethnocentric and only began to change in the late 1960s.
It was at this point that we see a more multicultural group of immigrants into our nation. The history
of Chinese immigration in
Vancouver, and for that matter, Canada is not positive one. The experiences and prejudices which were

Throughout the 20th Century the Canadian government has set targets for the number of immigrant
entries based upon economic criteria. Periods of encouragement have included the early decades of
this century along with the reconstruction era of Post World War II. The 30s, 40s and the recession of
the early 80s have been periods during which the national government has discouraged immigration.
At times, economic concerns have given way to humanitarian ones such as during the Soviet invasions
of Hungary and Czechoslovakia, and during the Vietnamese refugee crisis of the 70s. Generally,
however, Canadian immigration targets have reflected the rate of economic expansion and
employment. An exception to this rule was during the latter part of the 1980s. Worry over the
declining fertility rate and our ageing population led the federal government to raise its annual targets
despite high unemployment. Most recently, under economic pressures, the most recent Liberal
government once again lowered the immigration level.
The Geography of Immigration There have also been attempts at controlling the geography of
immigrant settlement. The Federal government stated that one of the primary goals of immigration is
to, foster the development of a strong and viable economy and the prosperity of all regions in Canada.
Immigration in our country has been seen as a means of promoting economic development in less
prosperous regions, as well as supporting heartland areas. While the

Søren Kierkegaard is considered the father of existentialism ( Christian and Theological

The narrator questions whether Abraham s faith in God can justify killing his son (Søren Kierkegaard:

Dostoyevsky uses two contrasting chapters to argue against atheistic existentialism. The Grand

the religious leaders do not want Him there. They claim that they already have freedom, and that His

August 20, 2015 3.2.13 Practice: Revision Strategies The tempest one of the most difficult
Shakespearean works in my opion to stage, from its stormy, chaotic first scene to its sureality to its
ambiguous resolution, with Prospero facing his silent, treacherous brother and renouncing the power
that has made every action in the story possible. Potent language remains the central force and
mystery of this fathomless play. Prospero speaks almost a third of the lines in The Tempest, and
controls the amount of speech every other character on the island has through manipulation and
magic. Prospero s narrative of how he came to the island, what he did once there, and what he is owed
for this history, goes largely unchallenged in the text. Yet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that what Prospero is doing here has much to do with the process of the Othering as a method
to make a binary opposition so that he can justify all his brutal and inhuman actions towards Caliban.

considering the Others to be barbarous just because they cannot speak fluently the language of the

Others can also consider us as barbarous for not knowing our language: Prospero teaches Caliban to
speak his language, but never gives him access to his books. There is no indication that Miranda ever

through language and stories, giving them no other means of education or perspective. Caliban, forced
to use the language of his oppressor, resorts to curses, and knows that the way to destroy Prospero is
through his books, telling Stefano and Trinculo to burn them before they kill him. These books have

An Additional Area Of Contention Within The Literature
An additional area of contention within the literature regards the effects of polling on voters. The
majority of scholars support the idea that polling publication does indeed have an effect on voters. On
the lower end of the influence scale, scholars such as Cutler et al. (2012:282) conclude that poll
reporting is potentially an autonomous influence on the behaviour of voters as they reason their way to
electoral decisions. However, their study does not delve too heavily into the actual empirical influence
of poll reporting s effects, but rather alludes to its potential effects. More comprehensive studies of the
1988 election in Canada found that polling had a much larger effect on voting behaviour (Blais,
Gidengil and Nivette 2006:272). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, during times of negative news for a party, undeclared voters would, in turn, state that they
were less likely to vote for said party (ibid). However, this study concluded by finding that when it
came down to election day, there was no clear evidence that these reported voting intentions, as a
result of polling publication or news stories, influenced undecided voters when they reached the
voting booth, as the influence was not found to be statistically significant (ibid:39 40).
Normative Assessments: Effects of Polling Publication on Democracy? Most of the literature
discussed in the above chapters has been fairly empirical in its findings. However, some of the current
literature discussing the nature of polling publication and its influence on voters have also brought
normative claims to their studies. These normative claims operate under the assumption that polling
publication is indeed influencing voter decisions, and subsequently ask: what do the effects of voter
influence from polling publication mean for Canadian democracy? In response to this question, two
sides have emerged in the debate; a majority of scholars who believe polling publication is negatively
affecting democracy, and a small minority who believe polling publication is benefiting democracy.
Those who believe polling publication is negatively affecting Canadian democracy argue two claims.
Firstly, due to the influence polling publications have on

IVoltage source inverters (VSI s) are widely used in electric drive applications. Generally inverters
contain certain amount of harmonics in the output. Inverters quality is expressed with the help of
parameters of performance. Parameters like lower order harmonics (LOH), total harmonic distortion
(THD) Distortion Factor basically plays a vital role on the performance of an inverter. Harmonics give

So harmonics directly effect the system performance. For performance improvement of an inverter it
is desirable to eliminate harmonics. IEEE 519 Standard gives maximum allowable limits for voltage
and current distortions [3].
VSI gives less qualitative outputs with conventional voltage control techniques Output voltage of an
inverter can also be varied by controlling on off periods of its switches. This is the most popular and
efficient method for controlling inverter output voltage.
2.4 Pulse Width Modulation in VSI s
Output Voltage of the Inverter can be modified or controlled by controlling or modifying switching
current, or in case of Power Switches, by controlling or modifying Gate current. This control is
achieved by PWM control. In one of the methods of controlling inverter output voltage, a fixed DC
voltage is given to the inverter and by varying the ON and OFF time of power switches we get a
controlled or modified AC output voltage. This method is popularly called as Pulse Width Modulation
(PWM) method. The features of PWM inverter can be summarized as follows
Filter size can be smaller compared to the filter used with square wave inverter

  • 2. Yahoo Corporate Governance in Microsoft Takeover Yahoo Corporate Governance and the Microsoft Takeover We are studying the potential buyout of Yahoo by Microsoft from the perspective of Yahoo s Board of Directors. Yahoo! Inc. provides Internet services to users, advertisers, publishers and developers worldwide. It offers online properties and services to users; and marketing solutions and tools to advertisers and publishers. For example, Yahoo! Finance is a portal for information on general financial conditions and specific firm information. It is also the second largest internet search engine on the planet, behind Google, which is also their main competitor. Jerry Yang, 39, is Co Founder, CEO, Chief Yahoo! and Executive Director and Susan L. Decker, 45, is President. Yahoo!, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the past few years, Microsoft Corporation, the software behemoth located in Redmond Washington, has been looking to acquire Yahoo!, Inc. While Microsoft Corp. has numerous reasons to be interested in acquiring Yahoo!, there are few options available for Yahoo! Inc. Like Google s purchase of Double Click in 2007, Microsoft sees Yahoo! as a way to extract internet advertising revenue. Further, Microsoft has for years sought to build a winning portal that could dominate the search engine market, currently dominated by Google. MSN was Microsoft s version of AOL. Even after years of Research Development in this area, Microsoft still only has 19% of the internet search engine market (and that s because of ISP bundling and desktop default presets.) Actual search engine use of MSN is much lower than 19%. Google is a money maker and has a dominating market share. Beyond the search engine market, there also is that innovation nirvana for which Microsoft is always searching. It wasn t Hotmail, it wasn t MSN maps, it wasn t SoapBox, and the list of Microsoft Corp. disappointments goes on. Now they decided to go for a big acquisition. Microsoft s original unsolicited offer of $44.6 billion for a complete buyout of Yahoo! Was rejected by Yahoo! s board. Microsoft has continued to revise their bids, increasing it to $47.5B to no avail. This initial bid was $31 per share a 62% premium for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Today S Chinese Characters Were Officially Established Today s Chinese characters were officially established very recently, but they have one of the longest histories in the world. Chinese characters have continuously developed for more than three thousand years and finally the characters that are currently used are officially confirmed just around 50 years ago, actually in 1956 by The First Scheme of Simplified Chinese Characters and in 1977 by The Second Scheme of Simplified Chinese Characters . By means of simplification, history is divided before and after the 20th century, but until 1949, when Quin dynasty to the Republic of China ended, only 324 simplified characters had been recognized by the government. According to the video lecture conducted by Dr. Xiaoting Li, Chinese scripts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover in Qin dynasty, especially under the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, the Small Seal scripts were created. In the former era there were hundreds of territories. This means there were hundreds of ways of handwritings. However, his policy was the centralization of power so he wanted to know about all of his territories. He divided his land into 36 parts, sent his subordinates to each part, and made them record the information about the lands in order to grasp the width, population, or products. His subordinates recorded about each lands in their originally simplified characters and sometimes the emperor had difficulty in reading them. So in order to rule the country efficiently, less complex scripts were adopted officially. Unification of writing system meant consolidation of power, especially that writing is used I taxation, trade exchange, day to day communication, etc. Small seal script unified not only the forms and variations, but also the methods of writing, by introducing rules of writing, proportions, and symmetry (Ryuurui). • 5. Impressionism In Claude Monet One may consider Claude Monet s Impression, Sunrise (Fig.1) his most crucial work throughout his career as an artist. This artwork was made in the year 1872 and the medium used in the creation of this work was oil on canvas. In the book, Monet: The Ultimate Impressionist, it is stated that the work was more focused on capturing the experience of a moment than realistically rendering a scene (Patin 39). This illustrates the basis from which Impressionism defines itself. Instead of expressing a realistic portrait of the harbour, Claude Monet chose to demonstrate it in an expressive manner. Whilst doing this, he makes use of the contrasting effects of the rising sun and the bluish water, representing the sun as a prominent subject in the painting. The work plays with the disparity of the faint bluish tones of the area with the bright orange tone of the sun, illustrating how Claude Monet makes use of the nuances of light to create this effect. What the Impressionist painters actually accomplished was the finding of a form closer to the first impression for the appearance of things than other painters had. And it was closer because of their vivid sensibility whereby they understood the absolute value in art of the appearance, and their mind was sufficiently free of traditional principles of abstract form to undervalue their impressions (Venturi 38) Rather than saying that Monet depicted the work s subjects in abstract forms, he expressed them with the intention of representing them in forms closer to his first impressions of them such as the figures of the boats and the people portrayed on the water s surface. In respect to this, he defines their figures relatively to the variations of lighting, presenting the elements in a more simplistic manner yet expressive on as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Analysis Of The Book The House On Mango Street Taylor Christensen Mrs.Evans Fourth Period November, 7th 2016 The House on Mango Street In the novel, The House on Mango Street , author Sandra Cisneros portrays a story of a young girl, Esperanza who is completely dissatisfied with her life. She yearns for what she considers a perfect house and various other items that she believes will make her existence perfect. As she finds out who she truly is and what she is really good at, she becomes the person she had hidden all along. She was lost inside someone who was so conceited, and hoped for things that could never even happen. Unfortunately, when someone does not accept the realities of their life, maybe to make it better at some point, their situation becomes intolerable because this individual keeps searching for something that is unattainable. When her sister, Nene is mentioned in the story Esperanza always proclaims Nene as not a good enough friend/sister, another example of how nothing is good enough for her. Esperanza always says everything about her is bad luck, her name, her family history even the date she was born. On the Chinese calendar she is a horse which is bad luck. Born like me in the Chinese year of the horse which is supposed to be bad luck if you re born female but I think it s a Chinese lie because the Chinese, like the Mexicans, don t like their women strong (Cisneros 12). • 9. Too Much Violence and Bullying among Adolescents Over the years, there has been an increase in the number of youth violence and social/relational bullying incidents among adolescents. Dresler Hawke and Whitehead (2009, p. 195) define relational bullying as a form of victimization whereby peer relationships are purposefully undermined with the intention of socially excluding individuals. Relational bullying relates to the adolescent as this is an indirect form of bullying that has a negative impact on the social development of this population (Vessey, DiFazio, and Strout, 2013, p. 338). This paper focuses on the negative impacts that bullying has on an adolescent s social development (isolation, difficulties within peer relationships, and decreased social status) and the interventions that nurses use to promote health and wellness on bullied victims. The importance of developing peer relationships is crucial to adolescent development. Adolescents growing up in a safe and healthy environment among their peers helps foster a positive growth, development, and well being (Dresler Hawke et. al., 2009, p. 196). Barbara Jones Warren (2011, p. 22) states that a primary goal of bullying is to socially exclude or isolate individuals from others with a school or workplace setting. Relational bullying has a negative impact as adolescents become socially withdrawn from their peers and experience feelings of loneliness and rejection. As a result, this impacts their academic performance and attendance, causing them to withdraw from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Justice System In Robert Louis Stevenson s Just Mercy In the first half of Stevenson s Just Mercy, he depicts this almost binary system within his experiences in the justice system: a majority class and a vulnerable class, with a few outliers in between. The majority class operates for those in power and actively against the vulnerable. By attacking the vulnerable, it performs as almost a fuel for those within the system who have ambition to ascend its ranks. For example, by Alabama using elections to select its judges (70), this allows the system to uphold the desires and opinions of those in the majority, without any checks and balances on the equity of the system and its integrity to the law. Observers figure that this macabre story signifies the lowest of lows in our pathetic and quondam attempt to be sivilized. • 12. Oil Sands In this essay I will use the social issue of oil sands and its impact on climate change to critically compare the social order and class struggle perspectives in social theory. To examine the social order perspective, I will use the theories of Robert Merton and Harold Garfinkel. For the class perspective theory, I will use the theories of Pierre Bourdieu and Immanuel Wallenstein. The social order perspective explains the social issue of climate change in terms of how the social structures of the economy enforce and produce the ways in which people discuss climate change. Its main strength is that it identifies how the economy is able to shape discussions and create a sense of order around the opposing conflict of interest between the economy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Merton s theory derives from the fundamentalist perspective in which he defines manifest functions as the easily recognizable and intended outcomes, whereas latent functions are unintended. Merton argues the distinction between manifest and latent functions has significant value and that both functions need to be recognized as an approach to explaining any social phenomena (Powell 2017: Feb 15). Latent functions are not necessarily the anticipated outcome, however a closer examination of this function can lead to a better understanding of a social relation or patterns observed (Longofer Winchester, 2016). For instance, in applying the social issue of climate change to Merton s manifest and latent theory, it is clear the manifest function of oil sands is for refineries to extract the oil to produce fuel (energy source). As a result of increased reliance on oil sands as fuel, the process of refining oil and clearing land to extract the oil from these oil sands, releases tons of pollution into the atmosphere, creating the phenomena known as climate change. The perceived function of oil sands is not to harmful to the environment, however; it becomes the negative consequence of the objective. Although the manifest function does not recognize that the use of oil sands leads to an increased threat of the environment, the latent function is able to identify the relationship. This latent function leads to the reexamination of the use of oil sand and how our society collectively moves on about making informed decisions regarding both the production and the rate at which we use ... Summary and Critique of The Gift of Sex Essay A Book Review of The Gift of Sex University Abstract This paper is a summary of the book The Gift of Sex along with my responses for each section in the book. Along with the physical aspect of sex, there is a spiritual aspect of sex, which is mostly neglected by today s culture and even by Christians. The authors believe that sex is also a spiritual and emotional act, involving the total person, the body, soul and spirit. There is a connection with the sexual relationship of a husband and his wife, and the intimate relationship of God and man. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scriptures such as Jeremiah 7:9, 23:10; Isaiah 62:5; and the entire book of Hosea reveal that the relationship of God and His people is compared to a marriage relationship. The symbolism of the bride and groom is depicted in the New Testament in scriptures such as Ephesians 5 and Revelation 19:6 7. The authors believe that sex is not just for unity and procreation, but also for pleasure in the marriage relationship. The Song of Songs is poetry of the erotic relationship between a man and his wife, which is filled with passionate feelings. Christ has broken down the barriers between men and women, and therefore they do not have to live by different standards of sexual pleasure any longer. Men and women are equal in terms of value, ability, and position before God. Therefore, both husband and wife are commanded to give themselves to each other in marriage, with love being the guiding principle for sexual behavior. Penner and Penner (2003) believe that, it is important for Christian couples to understand the Bible s pro sex message (Kindle Location 425). I agree that sexuality reflects an aspect of the image of God in us and I believe that the church should openly speak out about the biblical perspective of the gift of sex. The concept of marriage is portrayed in the relationship the church has with Christ. God desires an intimate relationship with each one of us; one that reflects the depth of a sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Sexual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Russian peasants accounted for eighty per cent of the Russian population at this time. When eighty per cent of your population wants something and is not opposed to take things by force then there are serious problems for the Russian autocracy. The positive side of the emancipation of the serfs was plentiful in its achievements. The emancipation was a prelude to the most sustained program of sustained reform that imperial Russia had experienced. It also accomplished these great reforms without violence or mass coercion. It is pretty evident that the only way that this could have been achieved was through a government of an absolute ruler; it could have not been done by a nation ruled by democracy. The only other social change that is even comparable to the emancipation of the serfs is the freeing of the African American slaves in 1865. However this should still be held to a lesser degree the emancipation of the serfs. This is because some fifty million serfs were set free without any violent implications or precursors. Ridge Tents Ridge tents are generally used by one person, and are not ideal for families. These tents are among the easiest to set up, and are often used by hikers and campers who will be moving locations frequently during their hike. They are shaped like a wedge, with the larger end being near the entrance, and the slimmer end near the back end of the tent. They can hold as many as three people, but it is recommended that one to two people sleep in ridge tents. The camping tent that you choose should depend heavily upon the type of camping that you plan to do. Your tent is your home base and your shelter, so it is important that you choose a tent that is large enough, and easy enough for you to carry from one location to another if need ... The Hickory Huskers begin their season with new coach Norman Dale, whose coaching techniques rile up the townspeople and parents. He arrives at the school being a decade out of coaching the game and having a troubled past. Coach Dale is thrown many challenges with the townspeople not trusting him, the team s best player not playing and the fact that the small town team is overmatched. However, his optimism, motivation and toughness helped gain the loyalty of the team and the attention of the town. According to the film, Hickory, Indiana is a place where basketball players are treated like gods . The town takes basketball very seriously, it is literally a way of life for them. The Hickory Huskers may not be the best team in the area, but the community is very supportive of the team. Every week the whole town comes together for the games to cheer on the Hickory Huskers and the townspeople have meeting to try coming up with solutions to help better their performance. However, the towns approach is aggressive and their strategies to win are different from Coach Dales. For example, a group of men from the town barge into one of the team s practices and criticize Coach Dale that they should be practicing with the ball instead of doing strength exercises. • 34. Immigration Into Canada Immigration Into Canada Abstract This paper is concerned with the recent wave of Hong Kong immigrants into Vancouver. The stage is set for this discussion by first explaining some background behind Canadian immigration policy and then discussing the history of Chinese immigrants in Vancouver. From these discussions we are informed that Canadian immigration policy was historically ethnocentric and only began to change in the late 1960s. It was at this point that we see a more multicultural group of immigrants into our nation. The history of Chinese immigration in Vancouver, and for that matter, Canada is not positive one. Throughout the 20th Century the Canadian government has set targets for the number of immigrant entries based upon economic criteria. Periods of encouragement have included the early decades of this century along with the reconstruction era of Post World War II. The 30s, 40s and the recession of the early 80s have been periods during which the national government has discouraged immigration. At times, economic concerns have given way to humanitarian ones such as during the Soviet invasions of Hungary and Czechoslovakia, and during the Vietnamese refugee crisis of the 70s. Generally, however, Canadian immigration targets have reflected the rate of economic expansion and employment. An exception to this rule was during the latter part of the 1980s. Worry over the declining fertility rate and our ageing population led the federal government to raise its annual targets despite high unemployment. Most recently, under economic pressures, the most recent Liberal government once again lowered the immigration level. The Geography of Immigration There have also been attempts at controlling the geography of immigrant settlement. The Federal government stated that one of the primary goals of immigration is to, foster the development of a strong and viable economy and the prosperity of all regions in Canada. Immigration in our country has been seen as a means of promoting economic development in less prosperous regions, as well as supporting heartland areas. While the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When Fyodor is murdered, and three thousand roubles are stolen from him, the police accuse Dmitri because of his conflict with Fyodor. The Brothers Karamazov describes how three men with contrasting world views discover the corruption of their family and the truth behind a hideous murder. Kierkegaard wrote a book about the paradox surrounding Abraham sacrificing Isaac. Another existentialist, Karl Jaspers, argues that, free will makes all faith essentially existential. Jaspers also argues that, since life is absurd, it is less absurd to believe in a God which promises eternal life than to believe in nothing at all ( Christian and Theological Existentialism ). Dostoyevsky uses two contrasting chapters to argue against atheistic existentialism. The Grand Inquisitor is a story written by Ivan Karamazov. In the story, Jesus visits the Spanish Inquisition, but the religious leaders do not want Him there. They claim that they already have freedom, and that His return will take the freedom away. Dantes August 20, 2015 3.2.13 Practice: Revision Strategies The tempest one of the most difficult Shakespearean works in my opion to stage, from its stormy, chaotic first scene to its sureality to its ambiguous resolution, with Prospero facing his silent, treacherous brother and renouncing the power that has made every action in the story possible. Potent language remains the central force and mystery of this fathomless play. Prospero speaks almost a third of the lines in The Tempest, and controls the amount of speech every other character on the island has through manipulation and magic. Prospero s narrative of how he came to the island, what he did once there, and what he is owed for this history, goes largely unchallenged in the text. Yet ... I think that what Prospero is doing here has much to do with the process of the Othering as a method to make a binary opposition so that he can justify all his brutal and inhuman actions towards Caliban. There is no indication that Miranda ever sets her hands on these fabled tomes, either: Prospero controls the reality of both Caliban and Miranda through language and stories, giving them no other means of education or perspective. • 39. An Additional Area Of Contention Within The Literature An additional area of contention within the literature regards the effects of polling on voters. The majority of scholars support the idea that polling publication does indeed have an effect on voters. On the lower end of the influence scale, scholars such as Cutler et al. (2012:282) conclude that poll reporting is potentially an autonomous influence on the behaviour of voters as they reason their way to electoral decisions. However, their study does not delve too heavily into the actual empirical influence of poll reporting s effects, but rather alludes to its potential effects. More comprehensive studies of the 1988 election in Canada found that polling had a much larger effect on voting behaviour (Blais, Gidengil and Nivette 2006:272). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, during times of negative news for a party, undeclared voters would, in turn, state that they were less likely to vote for said party (ibid). However, this study concluded by finding that when it came down to election day, there was no clear evidence that these reported voting intentions, as a result of polling publication or news stories, influenced undecided voters when they reached the voting booth, as the influence was not found to be statistically significant (ibid:39 40). Normative Assessments: Effects of Polling Publication on Democracy? Most of the literature discussed in the above chapters has been fairly empirical in its findings. However, some of the current literature discussing the nature of polling publication and its influence on voters have also brought normative claims to their studies. These normative claims operate under the assumption that polling publication is indeed influencing voter decisions, and subsequently ask: what do the effects of voter influence from polling publication mean for Canadian democracy? In response to this question, two sides have emerged in the debate; a majority of scholars who believe polling publication is negatively affecting democracy, and a small minority who believe polling publication is benefiting democracy. Those who believe polling publication is negatively affecting Canadian democracy argue two claims. Firstly, due to the influence polling publications have on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Generally inverters contain certain amount of harmonics in the output. Inverters quality is expressed with the help of parameters of performance. Parameters like lower order harmonics (LOH), total harmonic distortion (THD) Distortion Factor basically plays a vital role on the performance of an inverter. Harmonics give undesirable effects the following undesirable effects [1] [2. Ill effects of harmonics are A. This is the most popular and efficient method for controlling inverter output voltage. 2.4 Pulse Width Modulation in VSI s Output Voltage of the Inverter can be modified or controlled by controlling or modifying switching current, or in case of Power Switches, by controlling or modifying Gate current. This control is achieved by PWM control. In one of the methods of controlling inverter output voltage, a fixed DC voltage is given to the inverter and by varying the ON and OFF time of power switches we get a controlled or modified AC output voltage. This method is popularly called as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) method.
