5. Feasibility And Merit Criteria For Our Recycling Program
The facility would contain an office area for the Sustainability Supervisor, a paid employee of Mercer
University who would be responsible for the recycling and sustainability efforts at Mercer University.
They would oversee interns responsible for maintaining and updating the website as well as student
workers who would sort recyclable materials. It would be outfitted with three computers, office
furniture, and a solar compactor. Collected recyclables would be taken to that facility to be sorted,
compacted and housed. With the creation of a sustainability office, we would be able to increase the
amount of recyclable waste that could be stored on campus and simply take the material to Atlanta,
directly, after it was capable of filling the truck. This would decrease the amount of trips taken
downtown to the Macon recycling center and increase Mercer s independence in the sustainability
movement.
Feasibility and Merit Criteria
The feasibility criteria considered in deciding the requirements of our recycling program, were the
same conditions given to us in the RFP. At the very minimum each proposed program had to include
recycling in Academic/Office buildings, Residential areas, the University Center, the Connell Student
Center, and the Sporting arenas. When it came to deciding what merit criteria would be used in
establishing parameters, we focused on the major problems detailed to us during the Bidder s
Conference. We were informed that the major factors in the failure of

6. Children Of The Classroom Benefit Students By Teaching...
Pets in the classroom benefit students by teaching responsibility, boosting self esteem, and helping
with children with anxiety. From early childhood, the desire to keep a pet is almost universal; children
dream frequently about animals; images and pictures of animals dominate children s books; children
who keep pets often regard baby faced animals as siblings; and there appears to simply be an human
attraction to, or at least interest in, non human animals (Daly, Suggs 104). Keeping pet animals within
a teaching environment has always been a popular feature of elementary classrooms (Zasloff et al.
347). One way that children can benefit from having a classroom pet is that pets build a child`s self
esteem, helping them to be more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a class pet children will learn the proper way to handle and care for the pet. Children can learn
the responsibility of taking care of an animal from having a pet in their classroom. Children will learn
what it takes to care for something other than themselves by feeding the pet lunch or cleaning out the
pet`s cage. Children are introduced to the world of animals by having a class pet, especially if they do
not have a pet at home. Students who do not have a pet at home are able to see, touch, and help take
care of one at school. When a student does not have a pet at home, they lose an experience to be close
to a non human being. Having a pet in their classroom could help them experience new feelings, gain
new abilities, and be able to understand what it is like to take care of something other than themselves.
Math and science can be brought to life with a class pet. The class can learn multiplication, fractions,
time, animal behavior, etc. Pets can also improve a child`s health. Many have done research relating to
the benefits of a person`s health. Children who have pets are less likely to get sick. Children who have
pets are at school more than children who do not. There are also some negative aspects of keeping a
class pet. One of the cons to keeping a class pet is cleaning up after it. Every pet, no matter how clean
it is, needs its cage cleaned once a week. The pet also needs care over the weekend and over breaks.

The Opium Wars
Imperial China was one of the greatest civilizations. It was leading in its inventions, trading routes,
and craftsmanship. Beginning in 221 BC, it lasted up till the final Qing Dynasty. It s downfall can be
attributed to the introduction of the drug, opium, from the west. It s introduction inspired two wars,
namely The Opium wars of the 19th century. In the 18th century, the country was flourishing, while it
had control of international trade. By the 19th century, China had lost control of trade and was
struggling with mass amounts of poverty and addiction.
Many assume that because of the Qing Dynasty 1644 1912, China had no outside contact with the
world. However, this is false. Since the 16th century the imperial court had been receiving European
diplomatic and religious missions. From 1760 Canton or what is called now Guangzho, a city north
easy of Hong Kong, had the monopoly on foreign trade within China. During this time, China had
many cultural and diplomatic procedures involving foreign trade. Foreigners interacted with Cohongs,
licensed chinese merchants. More and more Europeans began to get involved with trade in China and
the city of Canton flourished with international trade. China had many exotic and high quality
products to sell to Europeans. Silk, tea, herbs, spices, and porcelain were among the chief exports.
Tea, being the most popular export to Great Britain, was in high

The reason why this is the way to go is that relational databases are limited in the number of
relationships that can be dug down and analyzed. Using a dimensional model will allow the use of
multi dimensional cubes to be able to pull 3 or more dimensions back into a pivot table. An example
would be Sales by customer service rep by assigned sales territory. This provides a deeper detail of
data than you would be able to get out of a relational database. For each department of the university, I
propose a Data mart for each one. The reason why this is the case is so that every department can
manipulate their own data as they see fit with their own resources because it is on a different server
than another data mart typically. The look and feel of the Data Mart is up to that department and does
not bother the other departments Data Marts. Individual data marts can also increase response time
because there are not as many people hitting them all at one time. If a new department were to pop up,
data mart creation is very easy to do. Each record will be unique based on the primary or composite
keys of the table, and those keys could be surrogate keys such as using AutoNumber like in Microsoft
Access. Depending on the analysis of the data, it may be determined that the ID numbers between
student and teacher are unique and this can be the way to link items together throughout the database.

Health Insurance Problems In this case, a small non profit healthcare clinic that has been in business
for the last ten years providing voluntary services is currently facing several issues that are affecting
the organization. The clinic started as a comprehensive community effort, with a large group of
healthcare providers as volunteers that were concerned about the health of people with low income in
the that didn t have access to basic health care. This resulted in a new non profit organization with the
founders serving as the board of directors. During the first years when the clinic was getting the
business off the ground, their mission was to serve all comers and not to turn anyone away, regardless
of their financial situation (Buchbinder, p. 441). The clinic has been providing free services for a very
long time; however, the patient volume and the complexity of the organization has increased in the
recent years. The clinic no longer has as many volunteers as they used to have as when they first
started their mission, and the organization has experienced some significant changes that don t allow
them to provide services for free. At this time the original founders of the clinic have stepped down
from their leadership role and decided to hire a new administrator with some experience in
management, to provide the board members with a proposal on how to handle this issue. The board of
directors would like for the new administrator to address three areas of particular

suddenly the phone goes off. Thinking you ll be fine to text back because the road is just going

caused by a simple text. Texting while behind the wheel looses focus, taking eyes off the wheel and it

the text message they relieved. For example, thinking about what to write for the text can probably
cause a blind site on the road. You can always just pass a red light or almost run someone over
because you are not looking all around you. Just because certain people have been driving for years
does not make them an expert driver. A simple text is not worth loosing your life or someone else.

national hero, awarded the title Pasha (commander). During 1917 and 1918 Kemal Pasha was posted
to the Caucasus front fighting the Russian forces with some success, and then to the Hejaz, where the
Arab Revolt against Ottoman rule was in progress. He became increasingly critical of the incompetent
conduct of the war by the Sultan s government, and also of German domination of the Empire. He
resigned his command, but eventually agreed to return to command Ottoman forces in Palestine. In
October 1918 the Ottomans capitulated to the Allies, and Kemal became one of the leaders of the
party which favoured a policy of defending the Turkish speaking heartlands of the Empire, while

Although La Martina goods are high quality and high end, Lando has taken great care to present them
more as functional products for polo rather than fashion. The new fashion products could be hard to
promote among the company s original customer base, polo players and polo aficionados, as the brand
perception often drives the future sales of the company. For this reason, promotions must be
strategically focused to maintain company credibility, ensuring that original customers as well as new
customers are satisfied with the new products. Moreover, the fashion industry is a fast changing one.
La Martina has to cope with the new challenge of this constantly changing

22. Essay about Probabilist
Probabilist Deductive Inference in Gassendi s Logic*
ABSTRACT: In his Logic, Pierre Gassendi proposes that our inductive inferences lack the
information we would need to be certain of the claims that they suggest. Not even deductivist
inference can insure certainty about empirical claims because the experientially attained premises with
which we adduce support for such claims are no greater than probable. While something is surely
amiss in calling deductivist inference probabilistic, it seems Gassendi has hit upon a now familiar,
sensible point namely, the use of deductive reasoning in empirical contexts, while providing certain
formal guarantees, does not insulate empirical arguments from judgment by the measure of belief

All these views bear the mark of his distinctively strong empiricism. He proposes (quite reasonably)
that our inductive inferences lack the information we would need to be certain of claims they suggest,
and (a bit more surprisingly) that not even deductivist inference can insure our certainty about
empirical claims because the experientially attained premises we adduce in support of such claims are
no greater than probable.
We might think, on the basis of this last notion, that Gassendi has a good enough seventeenth century
grasp of inductivist logic, and that it s rather deductivist logic he doesn t fully understand. Yet, while
something is surely amiss in calling deductivist inference probabilistic , it seems Gassendi has hit
upon a now familiar, sensible point that the use of deductive reasoning in empirical contexts, while
providing certain formal guarantees, does not insulate empirical arguments from judgement by the
measure of belief we invest in their premises. Such a view is possible for Gassendi to begin with
because he is among those early Moderns who allow that we may have warrant for claims though we
are not certain of them; this is the degrees of belief concept which figures prominently in the
development of modern probability theory. The more general point, which distinguishes Gassendi
among his contemporaries, is that the strength all empirical claims share, irrespective of the way we
infer them, consists in the

23. Analysis Of The Poem Hello, Morgana
Hello, Morgana. A few hours before dawn, Arthur received word that Morgana was stirring, the last
dose of belladonna finally wearing off. He wanted to be there when she woke, when she discovered
where she was, to tell her himself what awaited her. A spiked bracelet engraved with archaic runes was
now clasped on her forearm and locked by blood. His blood, and only he could release her from its
bonds. Morgana sat on the cot, her head buried in her hands, wild hair spilling down her arms. She
raised her head at his final approach on the other side of her cell bars with a group of faces known and
unknown to her. Bloodshot eyes, haunted and confused, met his before the moment passed and the
coldness returned upon recognition. She pulled herself to her feet with as much grace as her weakness
would allow, slightly swaying in the balancing of her stance. I knew you had it in you, Arthur, she said
with sarcastic pride, coming to stand before the rods of iron separating her from freedom. Uther would
be proud of you. She presented her arm to him, tracks of crimson seeping from under the silver band,
her lips twitching to force a crooked smile. The Hades Lock. Ancients told that no matter how
powerful you were, once Hades put his hold on you, there was no escape from his realm unless he
allowed it. I assume your blood sealed it. Arthur crossed his arms and nodded once, determined not to
rise to the bait she dangled verbally in front of him. It had been like this between them

24. I Have A Yong Suster
When analyzing literature, context is important because different interpretations of the same piece can
lead to very different meanings. The poem I Have A Yong Suster is a piece of Middle English poetry
that can have several meanings depending on how it is read. Some say that the poem suggests a sexual
relationship, while others say that it is an exchange between siblings. The narrator in this poem is sent
three gifts that can have different meanings depending on who sent them. One interpretation identifies
the sender as the narrator s sister, and it portrays themes of love and innocence. Another interpretation
claims that the sender is a sweetheart or lover of the narrator, and in this interpretation, the poem
represents courtship. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important detail in this interpretation is the choice made by the author to make the sender of
these gifts a young sibling. This could be an intentional decision to strengthen the connection between
these specific gifts and young children. According to the Middle English Dictionary, however, suster
can be translated as spouse or lover . This interpretation gives the poem a sexual twist. The first gift,
the cherry, is representative of a woman s virginity. The second gift, a dove, is typically a symbol of
love. Also, they have been said to carry messages, such as the messages between the narrator and their
lover. Additionally, the briar fits into the theme of nature symbols, and reproduction is a part of nature.
The idea of the gifts being related to children also fits into this interpretation. The narrator notes late in
the poem that Whan the maiden hath that she loveth, / She is withoute longinge (27 28). Longinge can
be interpreted to mean longing, as in wishfulness, but it can also be read as longing, as in a sexual
desire. This could mean that when a girl has the one she loves, her desire for love in a possibly sexual
manner is sated. Reading the poem with the translation of suster as lover gives it a new twist and
changes some of the meanings that can be interpreted from the poem. The meaning of lover carries on
to modern songs such as I Gave My Love A Cherry by Carly Simon in 2007. This song is often

25. Borderline Personality Disorder ( Borderline ) Essay
It took me longer than usual to start this essay, because I fell into a deep pit of self doubt every time I
tried. Whenever I start a personal piece about my childhood, my mind instantly becomes a hive of
swirling thoughts in a cloud of static. No matter what I know to be true, the fear of having my mother
discredit me severely impedes progress. I have known about Borderline Personality Disorder for some
time, and I knew my estranged mother was diagnosed with it at one point, but I didn t really start
researching it until a friend lent me a copy of Surviving a Borderline Parent. Part of me was afraid if I
learned more about it, I would only feel sympathy for her, and guilt for going no contact. As awful as
it sounds, I was tired of trying to understand her, and I was over feeling guilty about her personal
wounds. There was also a bigger part of me that was afraid of admitting my upbringing influenced my
personality in such a strong way. On some level, I know she would take credit for any of it, the good
and the bad, because that is her style. To admit that I was a self defeatist, that I am intimately familiar
with Impostor Syndrome, is to admit that all of her taunting was correct. I don t live up to my
potential, and I am afraid of success. Borderline Personality Disorder(BPD) is estimated to affect up to
5.9% of the U.S. population, with 75% being women; though it is believed more men may be
undiagnosed or mistreated. Because of the lack of conversation surrounding

26. Sarah-Elizabeth Atunrase Final Paper
Sarah Elizabeth Atunrase Final Paper 5/9/18 Final Paper The two behavioral concepts I recognized in
the DeWaal paper were true altruism and empathy. Altruism is defined as altruism without obvious
advantages for the actor (DeWaal). Reciprocal altruism is the act of giving aid or preforming an act of
kindness in order to receive delayed benefits or even immediate benefits (Lecture 23: Empathy and
Altruism). In order to participate in altruistic acts the species must have empathy. Empathy is
important because in order to perform these acts of kindness one has to understand the emotion of
another and be able to imagine what someone else is going through. Dewaal discusses how altruism in
animals must stem from something other than actions with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Instead, he allowed his new friend to protect him and help him ward off competition when it came to

It can t be determined if the tortoise understood the actions of the goose. I choose this example
because it lacks the feel good feeling or helping someone in need of aid. I do not see examples of
empathetic behavior in this scenario. Another relationship that was less altruistic was the dog and the
cheetah. This is because they never performed beneficial acts at their expense in order to help each
other. They had companionship built over many years no doubt, but they appeared more like orphaned
siblings who have developed their own ways of communication and no true acts of altruism or
reciprocal altruism were demonstrated. As outlined previously, acts of altruism require the actor to
have self awareness and the ability to have empathy for another. I think it is because Atlas the Gibbon

them to understand each other altruism and empathy are easiest to spot in their

27. Research Paper On Followers
Being a follower is easier than being a leader. Followers don t fight as hard nor do they stress as much.
Followers are submissive to the opinions of others. Followers camouflage into society; they act, think,
and speak like everyone else. Followers quiet their voices and allow others to speak for them.
Followers always require someone else to walk them in life. Followers never take a stand nor stand in
front of the line. Followers prefer decisions be made for them and hardly ever get involved in decision
making. Being a follower is the easy route in life; obey others and you will fit right in. Followers
never rebel, but complain often. They speak of change, but wait for others to act. Followers criticize
the work of others, but never bring fresh ideas to the table. Followers are repetitive, they despise
change. Followers seek comfort and avoid challenges. Followers dependent on others; they seek the
approval and favor of everyone else, even if it means suppressing their own true identity. Followers
spend more time gossiping than being productive. Followers always seek to work less. Followers
carry false identities. Followers are easy to find, but hardly desired. Followers lack knowledge and use
other s ideas rather than their own. Followers are walking dead, they are always late. ... Show more

Intense global competition ends up requiring that companies make continual improvements to existing
products and processes. The Innovation and Learning perspective focuses on companies ability to
innovate, improve, and learn, which ties directly to the company s value. Norwalk s success in the past

have flooded the market with similar products, resulting in lower sales by distributors. Norwalk s long
term success is depended on the level of promotion by these distributors and their comments about
future consumer needs. So we Norwalk s innovation and learning perspective goals should focus on
their technology leadership and new applications.

Thoreau describes nature thoroughly which demonstrates how legendary of a writer he truly was. He
kept the reader engaged, hypnotizing them with the text. His writings were adaptable, skillful in
communicating explicit reality into solid language. He demonstrated proactive details within indirect
nuance. He proficiently uses diverse techniques of literature, such as a hyperbole, exaggeration, and
irony. For an example of a hyperbole in Walden is the hyperbole is How many a poor immortal soul
have I met well nigh crushed and smothered under its load, creeping down the road of life, pushing
before it a barn seventy five feet by forty, its Augean stables never cleansed, and one hundred acres of
land, tillage, mowing, pasture, and woodlot! . What makes it a hyperbole is in the barn and on the one

as remote from storm as the smooth reflecting surface Walden. He uses a simile to make comparisons

30. Summary Of Richard Bensel s Yankee Leviathan
Richard Bensel s Yankee Leviathan: The Origins of Central State Authority in America, 1857 1877, is
a book on the formation of the United States Federal government during the Civil War and the
Reconstruction eras. The book deals with the association of the Northern class and the Federal
government. It provides a history of the economy during the Civil War and help to reveal why a
socialist economy would not further the American economy. Bensel is of the belief that an
independent state authority would be a better form of government. He contended the United States
Federal government s growth was as a result of the Civil War during the Reconstruction era. In
addition, Bensel believed the Civil War attributed to the Northern Financial class, which ensued from
association with bankers in the North. He saw political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A large amount of state expansion included policies that were proposed and argued in the prewar
period (Bensel, 1).
The mobilization of the northern political economy for war, however, both provided the major impetus
for state expansion and reshaped the antebellum agenda. The war had an even greater impact on the
structure and substantive policies of the emergent Southern Confederacy (Bensel, 3). The war between
the North and the South resulted in different governmental leaderships. The South substantially
depended on internal market development like tobacco and cotton crops. To finance the war, the North
depended on local banking institutions. As a result, during the Civil War, the Northern financial class
grew substantially. New York became the state with one of the greatest banking institutions. In

Other Side to Drop Outs
Dropping out of high school is associated with multiple factors that gradually build onto an individual.
In the Income Inequality, Social Mobility and the Decision to Drop Out of High School study,
Kearney and Levine discussed that the socioeconomic perspective of a person is one that plays a
critical role in his/her perspective in continuing an education. Regions with a greater difference in
income inequality often come with less social mobility. High school students choice to drop out is
often linked with a long term exposure to low socioeconomic circumstance that demotivated their
prospect toward advancement and failure to recognize the benefits ... Show more content on

In a state with a greater gap in income inequality, youths of low socioeconomic status would have had
a 30% lower income in their career compared to that of youths of the same status from states with less
inequality. Likewise, individual in the former had a 8% chance of returning to school whereas there
was a 10.6% with the latter (Kearney Levine, 2016, pp. 347). Failing to identify role models in low
socioeconomic communities can cause one to fail to identify with college. However, one could also be
demotivated by living close to a household of higher socioeconomic status (Kearney Levine, 2016, pp.
348 349). It makes the prospect on financial success seem comparatively unreachable. With lower
obvious income inequality, there is a greater motivation to strive in education because one can feel
more competitive with colleagues whose capabilities are not so superior to oneself. Ultimately,
striving to achieve success through education was, as the researchers mentioned, most appropriately
considered a cumulative measure of ability, reflecting innate endowments, environmental influences,
and the result of formal and informal human capital investment (Kearney Levine, 2016). If an
individual cannot overcome the obstacles that are cast by

El Niño implies The Little Boy, or Christ Child in Spanish. El Niño was initially perceived by anglers
off the shore of South America in the 1600s, with the presence of curiously warm water in the Pacific
Ocean. The name was picked taking into account the season of year (around December) amid which
these warm waters occasions had a tendency to happen. Meteorologists utilize the term El Niño
alludes to the expansive scale sea environment atmosphere communication connected to an
intermittent warming in ocean surface temperatures over the focal and east focal Equatorial Pacific.
Researchers don t yet comprehend in subtle element what triggers an El Niño cycle. Not all El Niños
are the same, nor do the air and sea dependably take after the same examples starting with one El Niño
