The emergence of teaching materials and processes as open educational resources (OER) in higher education in the 21st century is part of the much larger social movement towards ‘opening up’ what was previously ‘closed’ to all except a limited number of people who paid for access to or use of information and services. Initially OER was understood as sharing specific ‘products’, but it now thought of as including the underlying pedagogical ‘practices’.
That academics and student tutors want to share their intellectual capital openly with the rest of the world is at the heart of the OER movement. Archer’s (2003) notion of the ‘active agent’, offers some insight into why academics (or students) in HEIs may decide to (or not) use and share OER, and how they might respond in an institutional environment which inhibits or encourages the practice of
sharing.

Representatives from local districts, superintendents, education associations and other stakeholders provided input that informed North Carolina's plan for allocating $39 million in federal COVID relief funds. The funds will be prioritized based on local needs and input, and will support issues of equity and excellence for students ($21 million) and families ($17 million). Specific allocations include digital learning resources, infrastructure, instructional support partnerships, and community learning labs to provide student supervision and whole child support. Oversight and administration of the funds will account for $1 million.
Collaboration vs. Autonomy
Post secondary institutions are highly autonomous. Attempts to create services that connect and network educators together across institutions run up against established beliefs that the needs of educators can be met within the institution and do not require collaboration. Collaboration is often viewed as a loss of autonomy and as sharing institutional or faculty proprietary knowledge with a competitor. This presentation is part of a panel discussion exploring how to mitigate the tensions between autonomy and collaboration when building collaborative system services for educators.

Itss Continuing The Journey
1) PWGSC's IT Services Branch provides $460M in annual IT services to government departments and has implemented a shared services model called IT Shared Services (ITSS) to improve service delivery and efficiency.
2) ITSS aims to provide a portfolio of standardized and interoperable IT products and services to government clients in areas such as security, data centers, networking and desktop services.
3) ITSS is taking a phased, client-centric approach to service implementation and is focused on governance, transparency, and continuous improvement to become a valued partner to government departments.

Jisc's FE and skills strategic priorities and opportunities to get involved
Jisc will focus on three strategic priorities over the next three years to support the UK further education and skills sector: improving the quality of teaching and learning, supporting sector transformation to address financial issues and increase efficiency, and better managing employer-led training and work-based learning. Key activities for the next 12 months include raising Jisc's profile, increasing member engagement, supporting college mergers, developing an apprenticeship offer, and piloting a digital capabilities discovery tool. Opportunities for sector involvement include participating in pilots of the learning analytics and digital capabilities tools, providing feedback on resources for apprenticeships, and joining workshops and panels.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
