Part 7 of my Apocalypse challenge

1. Welcome back to the apocalypse challenge that started out as a fun twist on playing a typical apocand has since spiraled out of control. We’re in the home stretch now. Only 6 more mandatory lifts and one optional one to go. Fair warning this was written while I was sick with food poisoning so it isn’t likely to be as funny or fun. But that isn’t why you are reading this are you? You are reading this because I have hypnotized to do so… ~_^ Let’s get started, shall we?

2. With Music lifted, it was now time to start on the pursuit of Alien Tech. Note the two telescopes, they were part of what Regina moved in with. Still more proof that Regina rocks.

3. Also with the lifting of Music means that the random awnings to cover the plants from acid rain can go bye-bye. “Feed me.”

4. “So I’m supposed to marry you when I grow up.” “Um, cornering me isn’t a good idea. I’m a romance sim, kid. I don’t do commitment.” “That’s okay! I don’t wanna marry anyone, even you.”

5. “You sure know the way to a girl’s heart.” “Ewwww, cooties!”

6. Things moved on pretty normally. Babies got baths, even if no one else did.

7. Sexy sims got sexier.

8. And Rock Gods, rocked.

9. Kara got gardening duty. I want someone fairly high up badge wise for when business is lifted. I has plans for the Garden.

10. “Get out of here, annoying mutt. You do not get to growl at me. Or I’ll have my cowplant eat you!” I love that my heiress hates Pets as much as I am.

11. “Someone put a fountain here. They must have wanted me to put soap in it.” I love mean sims.

12. One of the wonderful things about lifting culinary, birthday cakes. No more waiting for babies to age.

13. Up first is Kurt who looks a lot like his daddy. Kurt’s stats are 5/10/10/5/3

14. And Scott here looks a lot like his mommy. Scott’s stats are 10/10/7/5/3

15. “I wuv you, unca!” “No unca! Brudder!”

16. “Come on, walk to me Scottie.” “No! Can’ see!”

17. “There is that better?” “Uh-huh!”

18. “Brudder!” “Urk. Can’t breathe!”

19. “La lala! Preparing for a headmaster visit….” You can’t have one until business is lifted… “Not listening!” And it’s Monday… “NOT LISTENING!!!”

20. “Ugh. I hate school.”

21. It looks like Kara’s wish for Private school will come true. John’s lifted Business… Oh... Plans… They will be a happening.

22. “Hey! Creator! When am I going to get more face time?” Ooohhh who’s that behind you!

23. Oh. I thought it was Wally. “No one loves me! And you moved my grave.” “Get over it, Babs.”

24. Allow me to introduce my plans. Say hello to more snapdragons… Eventually…

25. “Oh my god!”

26. “Kara!!! Help!!!” “No! I was supposed to be the one abducted!!! Dammit! Take me!”

27. “What kind of daughter did I raise?”

28. A knowledge sim….

30. “Aaaah!!!”

31. “Mom!” “What?” “MOM!!!” “That should have been me.”

32. “Ahhh!!!”

33. “Oof!” “Damn that spaceship is loud!” “A little help here?” “What’d you say, Mom? I can’t hear you over the spaceship.”

34. “Why me? What did I do to deserve this?”

35. “But at least my sacrifice won’t be in vain…”

36. “Take me with you!!!” “Kara!”

37. “I didn’t want to be probed! I want to fall in love!”

38. The effects of Kori’s lifting Alien Tech were widely seen. “Oooohhh!!! This is very nice!” --- Meta time: With Alien Tech lifted, Medical is pretty much useless. About the only thing it is good for now is the birth control issue. This means that the kids get all of the mood boosters and the adults can just go for the energizers.

39. “Ooohh! Shiny Toddlers!”

40. “Don’t mind all of the stuff on the lawn.” “No worries. So you want into my school.” “That would be nice.” “I’d be happy to admit your grandson. Your family’s earned.” And they did too. With a score of 126 (42 dinner, 46 tour, 38 schmooze).

41. After the headmaster left, it was time for another birthday. This time Killian’s.

42. I think he makes an attractive elder.

43. Although he looks better with the bandana. Crap! We’ve got 5 minutes before midnight, go call the garden club! I made it. But only just…

44. “Sorry we couldn’t make it out last night.” “That’s okay it gave my wife time to place out tons of random junk.”

45. “So I hear you put junk out for me?” “Yep. You want to give me a look-see and add me to your garden club?” “No problem, let me summon my cronies and we’ll be good to go.”

46. “Loved the junk! Here have more!” --- Meta Time! Welcome to my “let’s make Gamer useless” item. This one item has the ability to make friends and lovers for you. Which if the only reason that you need gamer is to really keep up a friend count negates that entirely. At this point, Gamer is nothing more than a nuisance.

47. “Oh! Neat! I want friends!”

48. And just like that a trio of college kids fell from the sky.

49. Arthur likes private school much more than public school and gets his first A+ --- Meta Time! At this point, Education is also near useless. No teen is staying a teen long enough to have to worry about lower grades. Then there is the fact that no one is going to college. And with my mortality rate, well, Aspirations aren’t that important. The bookcase would be nice, but it isn’t necessary.

50. Okay, you know that townie that was holding hands with Kori in the previous slide… You didn’t? Well, that’s too bad. Because he’s dead now. I didn’t even know that the cake was out.

51. Ahhh Obligatory cute slides.

52. Don’t you just feel your blood sugar spiking?

53. Yeah, I need an insulin shot too.

54. “Dammit, sis! Put some clothes on!” --- Meta time! Did you know that Hot Tubs aren’t restricted under medical. At all? And they raise hygiene. So if you have the room, you can have one in your Apocalypse Mansion. Note that I didn’t use one until Alien Tech was lifted and Love Tubs became allowed. It’s a loophole though. And one that no one has really ever closed.

55. “What do you mean they get a Love tub! All I got was a damned broken toilet! This is so not fair.”

56. Since the house is full, but there is no rush to make room, I set the twins out to star gazing.

57. Not that the eye candy didn’t have a lot to do with it. I swear they made stargazing sexy on purpose.

58. And Operation Way too Many Fucking Snapdragons is on its way.

59. With little breaks to be admired by random townies.

60. And foist off random crap on.

61. To be nice to my twins, I had J’onn wish for love. And he got the Good Witch…

62. He got his first kiss…

63. First Flirt…

64. And first woohoo out of her. He was happy so I sent him out to watch clouds. It gave him something to do.

65. “I love cuddling with you, KK. It makes me feel like a young man again.” “You are a young man, Killer.” “The grey in my hair says otherwise.” “Pfft! That’s what hair dye is for.” “I’ll keep that in mind.”

66. That night we had synchronized aging with the multi-generational twins.

67. Kurt continues to look more and more like his father, while Scott really takes after his mother. “I have hands!” “I have an hourglass!” “Cool.”

68. “So? What do you want to do?”

69. “I dunno what do you want to do?”

70. “I could shoot you! Bang!” “Ack! You got me!”

71. To support that I actually do like my sims, Kori comes home with her final promotion in Culinary and hits her LTW. Her new LTW, to graduate 3 children from college – which is so not happening. But at least she will be happy for the rest of her life.

72. This is a rare occurrence, six family members actually eating at the same time. Most of the time no one needs food although the doublemint twins are outside stargazing most nights and the multi-generational twins are studying.

73. Kori doesn’t need to eat much, so she gets set to making flowers and earns her silver badge. We are almost to never-ending snapdragons.

74. J’onn! I thought I told you to stargaze! “I can stargaze from in the love tub.” Out! Now! “Fine.”

75. I told you so! Sigh. I think that if J’onn doesn’t die by satellite he will die by spontaneous combustion. Which is kinda appropriate if you consider that the Martian Manhunter’s weakness is fire.

76. Finally, my beefcakes are out and stargazing. I have to say that every time that one of them lunges up to point at a star I hold my breath for a satellite.

77. “Sleep well little man. Although you could use a bath.” Killian is a great dad and pretty good husband. I am very glad I moved him in.

78. That night, Kori aged up to elder. The first born-in-game sim to do so. That should speak volumes about the brutality of a lack of Military.

79. Also that night, our heir, Arthur, has a birthday.

80. “Woo! My nephew is a hottie!” That statement disturbs me on so many levels.

81. Continuing on my attempt skip a lot of the career levels by aging up into a teen career. Arthur starts his hunt.

82. And ends it at the first career listed: Medical. I can’t think of a better career for my new romance sim heir and his romance sim wife. I am sure that they will both appreciate it.

83. And a glowing Kori gets her gold florist badge and the snapdragon army begins.

84. Kara also sees the gold in gardening. Which is good. That means that I can now get lots of eggplant juice. Who needs skilling when you can drink your skills.

85. I tried to get John his true love, and this crawled out of the well. Almost reminds me of Ringu. Although unlike the movie, you can stop the horror from having any effect by cancelling the action. However that created a bit of a problem…

86. “So I heard you pulled Crumplebutt out of the well, John.” “Shouldn’t you be stalking after your under-aged fiancé?” “Nah! Tormenting you is more fun.” “Bite me.” “I only do that to sims I like.”

87. “So do you like me?” “Are you nuts? Get your arm off of me before you lose it.” “Make me.” “I’ve got my hand in range of your balls do you really want to go there.”

88. “No. I’d rather go here.”

89. “You kiss like a little kid.” “Well, then I’ll guess you’d have to teach me. I like learning. I’m a knowledge sim, you know.” “Are you saying you want to kiss me again?” “So smart! And you call yourself a romance sim.” “Hey!”

90. “I’m going to kiss you again.” “Less talking, more kissing.”

91. “Is that all you’ve got?” “Regina, I like you. Love you, even. But medical isn’t lifted…” “I know. I’m willing to take the risk.” “You’re sure?” “I’m sure.”

92. …

93. “So you got to woohoo Regina?” “Yep!” “So how was it?” “A gentleman never kisses and tells.” “But you’re no gentleman.” “True. It was fan-freaking-tastic. And even better. No lullaby.” “That’s a good thing, I don’t look forward to dying anytime soon.”

94. Arthur’s aspiration dropped enough that I could age him up.

95. I have to admit I had ulterior motives in getting him aged up quickly. Regina is a romance sim and I don’t relish her pulling John into bed every day. If I can get her hitched to Arthur she’ll pull him into bed instead. If I am having pregnancies, I am going to have ones that can allow me to lift restrictions.

96. Besides, Arthur is cute in his own way.

97. And Regina seems to think so.

98. I left Regina and Arthur to get to know each other under an ACR induced haze and went back to my twin watching.

99. When this happened… This makes the third natural satellite death since I’ve started playing. BTW did you know that kids can die by satellite? They can. So that want to see a shooting star, can be deadly.

100. J’onn naturally was devastated.

101. As was the rest of the family. John was well loved even if he was a chess-cheating asshole.

102. However there will be a small problem later on since he died in the front yard means that he is going to appear in the front yard. Losing John brings me down to 8 sims. I need to be down to seven before I can with good conscience start conceiving again.

103. So we know what this means…

104. Only that I built a little room out on the death spot for J’onn.

105. One hotdog cooking attempt later and we have glitchy fire dancing.

106. Then the burning…

107. The burning... BTW did you know that bare ground burns? It is as flammable as ceramic floor tiles.

108. “Are you sure you aren’t going for a ghost hunt, Lark?” Um… No? “Good because I hate death by flies, it is so stinky.”

109. And just like that, J’onn is gone.

110. Like his brother, his passing was felt. Sigh, I shall miss my eye candy.

111. Hello Arthur! You definitely rock the tats and I think I see the return of the Doran bedroom eyes.

112. Regina is a fake romance simat heart. I swear that she has some family sim in her to read to her intended’s little brother.

113. “You know, that is cute, Regina. But I’d rather you use your lips for other things.” “Like what?” “Kissing me.” “I can do that. I’ll be right back.”

114. “Okay, it’s time for higher fertility here, give me a glass of cowplant milk.” “S’all right?” “S’all right.”

115. “Wow, you look so much younger.” “And more beautiful?” “You were always beautiful.”

116. “Regina, since neither of us is fearing it at the moment, will you marry me?”

117. “Oh yes, I will!”

118. “Yay! I hope I don’t regret this.”

119. “Why would you regret it?” “We’re both romance sims and I want 20 lovers.” “So long as I don’t catch you, I am fine with it.” “Good to know.”

121. Since it was Tuesday, again, it was time to invite the headmaster over for dinner again. This time Regina got the honors since she was home.

122. Kara, who had rolled the want was a bit busy at the time.

123. Since she was mourning her friend from work. Sorry Gretchen, but your sacrifice will make it easier for Regina to conceive. Something I need at the moment.

125. “Why are we dressed up, KK?” “Headmaster visit. I hear he gives more points if you greet him in formal wear.” “Pfft. BBS nonsense. But if it makes you happy…”

127. And in case you were wondering, Arthur is slowly working on lifting Medical. He’s got quite a few skills he needs but he’ll do it fairly quickly. I wonder how his patients like the tats?

128. Kori also sets another record in my apoc. She is the first sim to retire from her job. Appropriate since she lifted Slacker.

129. And this is where I am going to leave you on this picture of gentle tranquility complete with butterflies. So how many deaths did we have in this update? Four in three different flavors. I do have the slides ready for the next update so it is a matter of getting them renumbered and written. I am holding to my goal of having the apoc complete by October.
