The Problem Of Child Sexual Abuse Essay
Introduction
Child sexual abuse is one of the most serious public health problems and crimes in the world,
resulting from the interaction of individual, family, social, and cultural factors (Pereda, Guilera,
Forns, GГіmez Benito, 2009). In China, there is increasing coverage about some particular cases
and increasing number of reports to All China Women s Federation (ACWF) from only a hundred
in second half of 1997 to over 3000 in 2000 (Long, 2007), but it could be believed that the
number of cases is considerably less than the actual crimes. In order to further protect children and
prevent CSA, it should understand the prevalence of CSA in China and explore whether there are
some specific situations in China, such as the rates in cities and rural areas. According to two
international meta analysis research of CSA, the rate of CSA is comparatively lower in some Asian
countries (Pereda et al., 2009; Stoltenborgh, van Ijzendoorn, Euser and Bakermans Kranenburg,
2011). In the two meta analyses, the number of Chinese studies is higher than that of other Asian
countries, so it may be believed that the CSA problem may be less serious in China than that in
other countries. However, it is still questionable about the rate of the specific abusing type,
including the contact CSA and the penetrative CSA, which may be higher for any gender than that
in the international level.

The Importance Of Student Needs On School-Wide Transition
Student Needs Title 1 School wide Transition Our efforts as teachers to boost learning are most
effective when we share the same philosophy: The focus is all about the kids, not what works best
for us, as teachers. A student centered mindset is proving what s best for each child. Our current
MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Support) pathway provides a backbone to students academic needs.
To assure that all students have every opportunity to reach their full potential, various programs and
interventions are in place to meet the unique needs of all students who attend Oakes Elementary.
Therefore, it was only pertinent that I take our Title 1 program to that same level and lead our school

When the opportunity arose, it was a no brainer that we had to take the leap. The many hours of
completing a comprehensive needs assessment, brainstorming and documenting school wide
reform strategies, along with compiling four goals that were considered big and scary, we were
doing what s best for kids! I thank Anna Sell, my building principal, for believing in me and
providing necessary information so that this could become a reality for our school. The final
outcome of this endeavor was to be named Title 1 Exceptional Teacher of the Year. I am honored
to accept this award on behalf of the fantastic team of teachers, administration, and most
importantly the lives we touch everyday...the kids! This award comes with a $12,000 grant to be
spent on allowable expenditure to upgrade what we do here at OES for kids. I am excited to look
into a few new ideas for my classroom with flexible seating, attend the National Title 1 convention
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in February 2018 with a colleague, and purchase materials for our
strategic and intensive interventions. By all means, we are not finished here! Our teaching staff
meets weekly to discuss student needs, performance, and assessments. Then in the spring of the
year, I will hold a meeting and school wide review for all teaching staff and parents where we will
look into the data and determine academic achievement

The Cause Of Generalized Anxiety Disorders
In the United States, 85% of all adults and teenagers, more females than males, have been
depressed at one point in their life. (Davey) Although the term is used loosely because people
tend to incorrectly self diagnose their sadness as depression, it is actually defined as a common
and serious medical illness that negatively affects how one feels and the way he or she thinks and
acts. (Parekh). In most cases, depression is accompanied with a type of anxietydisorder such as as
generalized anxiety disorderand social anxiety (Facts). The cause of them occurring at the same
time is unknown, but scientists believe that it is caused by a malfunction of brain chemistry.

Although interactions may be limited, they are beneficial to a depressed person (Hagerty).
Social relationships with close friends have proved to help lower depression rates and even
make it less severe. Relationships are extremely beneficial to depression because they often help
prevent severe depression or even overcome it over time. Relationships boost confidence from
their partner and provide them with the idea that they are not alone. It has been proven that
those who do not have depression also tend to relate more with those that do have it because non
depressed people tend to have a more positive outlook on life and tend to be more giving and
understanding. Overall, if a depressed person allows for it, relationships and social support have
only proved to benefit people who are

Immunizations
In most all schools across the United States, immunizations are required for children entering
elementary, middle school, high school and even entering some colleges. Immunizations are
believed to protect children and even adults from infectious diseases. These immunizations help
people protect themselves and even others from these infections spreading to cause an epidemic,
even a pandemic at the worst. Many people stand with immunizations and believe that everyone
should get the ones required before entering the education system. Immunizations are great to
prevent yourself and others from getting diseases that could affect them for a lifetime. Vaccines
such as the HPV can help prevent infections caused by HPV which could then later on lead

This Bitter Earth Dance Concert Report
I was at Vale remix last night. I really enjoyed every piece, but admit that at by the time the last
piece started about 2 1/2 hours in, I was having trouble concentrating. Some impressions I d love
to see more of BalletX and Matthew Neeman s choreography. This one viewing left me with the
feeling that the dancers are accomplished, distinctive and versatile. Newman created duets that
had individuality and moved dancers around the stage in unison dancing in a captivating way. I
also enjoyed the Limon piece with R. Fairchild and T. Peck. Tiler Peck has the ability to draw

paper cup, we could put it in a vacuum, in a classroom at room temperature and in a windy spot.
Then, using the spark timer device we could measure the displacement, then calculate the velocity
and acceleration. The independent variable would be changing the air conditions and the
dependent variable would be the acceleration. Furthermore, there are questions that could be
investigated from this lab. How does height affect an object in free fall? Is the acceleration for
free fall ever positive? What is the free fall acceleration for other planets and how is that

Government Contribution To The Industrial Revolution...
Rapid growth of business, industrialization and monopolies, contributed to the Industrial
Revolution in the United States during the Progressive Era. Following a policy of laissez faire
failed to control big businesses. Although some critics may believe that the government negatively
impacted businesses during the Industrial Revolution, the regulations put onto businesses
positively contributed to economic growth and protected the American Citizens from the big
businesses.Prior to the industrial revolution in America, businesses were small and family owned
and did not cause many problems. At the time the largest enterprises only employed around 50
people ( Corporations ). With only small businesses up to the 1870 s the government was able to
follow laissez faire policies. However, the industrial revolution grew in Europe and quickly made
its way to America. Businesses rapidly began to grow and monopolies formed. The need for
railroads and transportation supported the growth of industries ( Corporations ). The railroads made
it easy to transport manufactured goods across the nation ( Industrial ). Robber barons, John
Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan, took advantage of the need for new industries and
quickly began to ruin the country; their monopolies controlled everything. The formation of
monopolies and trusts eliminated competition and drove prices of basic items up (Benson).
Consumers began to have only one expensive option for things they

Predator Prey Paper
The role of predation is critical in shaping ecosystem structure and function (Berger et al., 2001;
Hawlena and Schmitz, 2010). Predator prey interactions can alter community composition (Kneite
and Chase, 2004), mediate trophic cascades (Mooney et al., 2010), increase biodiversity (Letnic
and Ritchie, 2012), and affect speciesinvasions (Snyder et al. 2004). Furthermore, predators can
control the dynamics of prey populations by influencing such aspects as survival, growth,
behavior, size structure, and distribution (Beauchamp et al., 2007) while prey can likewise
regulate predator populations (Yoshida et al., 2003; Ishii and Shimada, 2010). One of the
primary components of predator prey interactions is the behavior and subsequent survival of prey
in the presence of predators which we focus on in this study. For decades scientists have studied
the behavioral response of prey to predators. Numerous studies have directly linked prey activity
levels (e.g. Skelly, 1994; McIntyre et al. 2012) and refuge use (e.g. Cowlishaw, 1997; Belgrad and
Smith, 2014) to predationrisk, while other investigations have determined that predator avoidance
behaviors (e.g. migration, reduced foraging) can limit prey growth (Werner et al., 1983),
development (Skelly and Werner, 1990), and fecundity (Peckarsky et al., 1993). These behavioral
changes also have an enormous... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mortality while incorporating personality. Here, we test this theory and examine the roles prey

A Historical Analysis Of The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz
A Historical Analysis of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz In the movie, The Wonderful Wizard of
Oz , written by L. Frank Baum, a little orphan girl named Dorothy is adopted by her Uncle
Henry and her Aunt Em; They live on a family farm in Kansas. Uncle Henry and Aunt Em are
stressed out because of how poorly the farm is doing, which is caused by the Dust Bowl. One
day Dorothy and, her dog, Toto is walking home and she passes Miss Gulch s, a rich neighbor,
house who is outside doing some gardening. Toto runs into the garden chasing after Miss Gulch s
cat and also biting Miss Gulch. She hits Toto across the back with the rake sending Toto running
away in fear. Dorothy and Toto make it back home where they find Uncle Henry and Aunt Em
working on the farm. As Dorothy tries to explain what Miss Gulch has done she gets ignored
and shooed off. Soon after she meets up with Uncle Henry as he is feeding the hogs to explain to
him about the situation with Toto, but once again Dorothy gets ignored and she ends up slipping
and falling into the hog pen causing commotion which leads to Aunt Em coming over to see what
is going on. Dorothy gets in trouble and is told by Aunt Em that she needs to find a place where
she won t get in trouble. Miss Gulch approaches the farm with a letter staying that she is allowed
to take Toto away from Dorothy to get him destroyed. This situation influences Dorothy to run

Analysis Of The Bhagavad Gita
THE BHAGAVAD GITA AN ANALYSIS OF APPROACHING THE ULTIMATE TRUTH AND
JHANA YOGA Abstract In the Bhagavad Gita, the fourth discourse which is composed of forty
two verses, Lord Krishna, the narrator guides Arjuna a warrior who is finding himself pondering
about the simple principles of life while he is fighting the war. In the fourth discourse Arjuna
learns from Lord Krishna about faith, wisdom sacrifice, ignorance, doubts of the soul, action and
inaction, selfless service, and self realization which ultimately leads to the ultimate truth, which
is the path for the spiritual soul to reach its maximum potential here on earth and the afterlife.
This essay will focus on analyzing the ultimate truth while seeing how it coexists with the study
and practice of Jhana Yoga. Each of the principles presented in this essay will have an in depth
examination. The philosophical and religious as well as human natures are some of the most
important themes that will be displayed in this essay. The idea of the materialistic values that is
present in everyday life serve as the reason to why one cannot know the ultimate truth and how
one can overcome this in order to find supreme peace. Karma yoga will be studied as Lord
Krishna tells its importance to Arjuna, so he can follow the path of divine fulfillment. The
universality of religion and selflessness serve as the two strengths one can achieve to be capable to
have and live by the ultimate truth. The aspect of tradition and the origins of

A Report Analysis on the Circular Economy using innovative ideas and different case studies of
manufacturing and service sector.

Executive summary
Introduction
Definition
A Circular economy as a regenerative system in which resource input and waste, emission, and
energy leakage are minimized by slowing, closing, and narrowing material and energy loops. This
can be achieved through long lasting design, maintenance, repair, reuse, remanufacturing,
refurbishing, and recycling. (Martin Geissdoerfer a, 2017)
Concept
We can state that in Circular economy utilizing old merchandise and utilizing crude material
which is as waste, and it can be replicated and reused by reusing the item by utilizing the
imaginative thoughts remembering that it doesn t influence the earth. This will help everyone
to spare cash and it will give steady employment to individuals to work more in up and coming
future. As we probably are aware we are in the new time of the business world as individuals are
presently moving from paper cash to plastic cash and it is the change time frame for the world
economy. Along these lines, same applies to our items as they require some change on the
grounds that the entire world is moving towards the cutting edge world. Looking beyond the
current [take, make and dispose] extractive industrial model, the circular economy is restorative
and regenerative by design . (1.macarthur, 2017) The circular economy can be explained as using
raw materials, recycle it and use new technologies to make more efficient so that our product can
be sustained for long period of time. While we are performing these task, we can generate more
jobs and we require more employees as we are in producing phase, so we need more and more
employees to perform the job. This sector works perfectly because we are recycling the waste and
reproducing it by using different ideas, procedures and technologies to make our product perfect.

Sherlock Holmes Quotes
There are not many standout characters in literature that are internationally known and loved as
much as Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is a world wide known character created by Sir
Arthur Conan Doyle. After killing him off Doyle brings back Sherlock in The Hounds of the
Baskervilles. In the Hounds of the Baskervilles the internationally known character Sherlock lives
up to his own legend. One of the most well known things about Sherlock is his extremely high
intelligence, his power of deduction, and his keen ability to understand and predict human
behavior. Doyle immediately shows the reader Sherlock s deduction skills in the beginning of the
novel when he studies Dr. James Mortimer s walking stick as he deduces that he owns a small...

Watson. Throughout The Hounds of The Baskervilles Sherlock the reader can see that Sherlock
is not able cope with boredom. This is seen the quote, Holmes struck his hand passionately upon
the rock in front of us stamped his feet in impatience, (Doyle, 1902, Pg.) In the quote we see
Sherlock unable to cope with waiting. Instead of acting normally Sherlock decides to injure
himself as he can t cope with his boredom of waiting. This is a perfect example of Sherlock s
known personality of being unable to be bored or wait. Another thing Sherlock is internationally
notable for is his love for a challenge of someone intelligent. This excitement Sherlock has is seen
in many of the Sherlock Holmes novels and an example of this is James Moriarty. We see this
excitement in the quote, The cunning rascal... I tell you, Watson, this time we have got a
foeman who is worthy of our steel. (Doyle, 1902, Pg.). In the quote we see a excited Sherlock as
he finally is gaining the rush of a challenging opponent. Sherlock is known for this as most
regular heros see a challenging opponent as bad thing, while Sherlock sees it as fun. Sherlock is
also acknowledged for his partner and friend Dr. Watson who is the narrator of most of the
Sherlock novels. Throughout The Hounds of the Baskervilles we see Sherlock and Watson
together. We see the dynamic relationship of Sherlock and Watson in the quote, I am afraid, my
dear Watson, that most of your conclusions were erroneous. When I said that you stimulated me I
meant, to be frank, that in noting your fallacies I was occasionally guided towards the truth. Not
that you are entirely wrong in this instance. (Doyle, 1902, Pg. ). Just like in the legend of Sherlock
Holmes we see Sherlock trying to appreciate Watson, but ends up insulting him. Even after insulting
him,

Counter Terrorism Alternatives
In today s day and age, the fear of terrorism is not only a common sentiment, but is also a rising
subject of debate. In order to keep troops out of harm s way, the United States has looked for
alternate means of combatting terrorist organizations. Since September 11, 2001 the United States
has relied heavily on its men and women in uniform to prevent terrorism abroad. Technology of
today and the use of intelligence offer the United States alternate means of addressing terrorism.
For instance, drone strikes were called by former US CIA director Leon Panetta, the only game in
town in term of confronting or trying to disrupt the Al Qaeda leadership (ODLE, 2013). With the
use of typology, socioeconomic assistance, drones, diplomatic engagement and enhanced airline
security services, the use of military force is not the only way to prevent terrorism.
If our country wants to never send another son or daughter to war then we must first understand
who the terrorists are. Former President George Bush said we fight against poverty because hope
is an answer to terror (Lee 2011). On the other hand, there are studies that say the opposite, that
terrorism is not related to poverty. Poverty and education are very important factors of what
violence occurs. The lower the poverty and education the increased chances for violence.

Hotel Literature Review
2. Literature Review
2.1 Why the hotel industry
The focus is on the hotel industry because; the geographical location of a hotel has a major impact
on its operations and profitability (Namasivayam, K., Enz, C. A.,
Siguaw, J. A. (2000). Furthermore geographical location of a hotel greatly determines the profile
of its visitors, the size of its market and the level of competition that it has to face. These three
variables also have a strong impact on the ICT adoption tendency of a hotel. This is because the ICT
adoption tendency of a hotel can be linked mainly to its expectations about the value addition that
ICTs can provide to its customers, as well as the belief about the expansion of its target market
through ICTs. A hotel will therefore be more inclined to adopt ICTs if it... Show more content on

Texas Bottomland Wetlands
Bottomland hardwoods are wetlands found along rivers and streams which sometimes flood beyond
their channels into hardwood forested floodplains. These wetlands, which include forests, swamps,
ponds, and water channels, are considered some of the most important habitats in Texas wildlife.
Soil type and adaptation of that soil. What is different about wetland soil? How can we recognize it?
The Texas bottomland hardwood soil is highly fertile due to the nearby water resources. These
wetlands are able to control the soil erosion in order to prevent flood damage and maintain water
quality. The soil is often a deep brown or brownish red color.

When this occurs, water from the wetland buildup can seep into the ground and be stored as ground

Human impacts in habitat, pollution, chemicals, etc...; Why should we protect wetlands? How can

These wetlands can be protected if humans reduce pollution amounts. Many wetlands are affected
by pesticides and fertilizers, among other pollutants, clogging up the waters. Another thing which
is harming wetlands is when people drain them or get rid of them to make way for open land.
People can help by either joining a cause which preserves wetlands or by making sure rivers and
streams become pollution free zones so that the organisms living there can continue to survive.
Any Background or History on the Texas Wetland of that particular region
Since the European settlement, Texas has lost over seven million acres of wetlands throughout the

Criminal Behavior Theories Paper
This week our focus is on theories of criminal behavior and why people choose the behavior they
do. According to (Adler, Mueller, Laufer, 2012), there are three main criminal behavior theories;
Labeling theory, Conflict theory and the Radical theory. Each theory outlines different perspectives
on why an individual engages in criminal activity along with the public s reaction.
The first theory is the Labeling theory which was first contemplated by Charles Horton Cooley,
William I. Thomas, and George Herbert Mead around 1918. It is one of the most important
approaches to understanding criminal behavior. It basically theorizes that no one act is inherently
criminal, but it is merely the interaction and relationship between the ... Show more content on

One example may be that some children engage in activities such as breaking windows, stealing
fruit from other people s trees, climbing into other people s yards, or playing hooky from school.
In upscale neighborhoods, these acts may be looked at by parents, teachers, and police as innocent
aspects of the process of growing up. In poor areas, on the other hand, these same activities might
be seen as tendencies towards juvenile delinquency, which suggests that differences of class and
race play an important role in the process of assigning labels of criminal activity (Adler et al., 2012).
Next we look at the Conflict theory. Conflict theory states that tensions and conflicts arise when
resources, status, and power are unevenly distributed between groups in society and that these
conflicts become the reason for social change. In this context, power can be understood as control
of material resources and accumulated wealth, control of politics and the institutions that make up
society, and one s social status relative to

Let Me Make A Declaration Of Modesty
Before I begin, let me make a declaration of modesty. I am, by no account, a legal expert, and, at
this point, having a career as illustrious and fruitful as President Garrett s is a mere dream. She is,
of course, far more intelligent, informed, and experienced than I in matters relating to law and, in
particular, the Supreme Court of the United States, and it is for this reason that I write this article not
in criticism, but in genuine confusion.
During the Question Answer portion of the September 18th faculty panel discussion regarding
Democracy Inequality, President Garrett and Professor Robert H. Frank, management and
economics, criticized the Supreme Court s holding in Citizens United v. Federal Election
Commission (2010) that the First Amendment permits independent corporate political expenditures.
President Garrett and Professor Frank chastised the ruling for its pernicious consequences on
American democracy. Professor Frank derisively highlighted the ruling s establishment of corporate
personhood, and President Garrett pondered how the five justice majority (Roberts; Scalia;
Kennedy, opinion author; Thomas; Alito) could possibly have concluded that unrestricted political
donations would not inherently precipitate bribery, for which there exists, in the President s words,
a compelling State interest to prevent. Ultimately, the general panel consensus was twofold:
Citizens United was wrongly decided, and the case should be overturned.

targeted by detectives when being interrogated for committing a crime. As the causes of false
confessions include mental illness and low intelligence quote, therefore leading to false
convictions, there has to be solutions to these issues.

First off, The Pittsburgh Post bring s up, Statements can be complicated to document due to
many police organizations fail to videotape interrogations (Moushey). This example describes
that many police agencies fail to record the interrogations that they are involved in which causes
the cases to be unsolved for many years. To continue, New York Times claims, Police use a
variation of techniques to receive a certain disclosure, but the techniques used can be hard for the
jury to comprehend (Dolan). This confirmation proves that the techniques used to reveal evidence
can not be understood by the court, therefore, recordings during interrogations are avoided.
Moving on, New York Times explains, Legal authorities claim that the best way to make sure
confessions are truthful is to require detectives to document and record interrogations (Dolan).
This quote verifies that it should be essential for detectives and police to videotape questioning
because they may be tricking victims into confessing. Finally, New York Times mentions, Tape
recording could prevent police from doing remarkable techniques and prevent false convictions
(Dolan). This citation clarifies that tape recording could prevent police from going the extra mile
to find someone guilty in their case. Many police break the law by trying to find a victim guilty

Gotterdammerug In Blindness
In Blindness, Saramago presents a society in which most of the people go blind, seeing only milky
whiteness, and lose all societal order. Saramago accomplishes to bring to light what a modern
Gotterdammerug, or twilight of gods, would entail in this thought experiment. Throughout the
novel, the plague of blindnessdemonstrates the gradual loss of humanity. Plus, the physical
blindness is not the only blindness explored in this reflection on human nature and the implications
of pseudo apocalyptic situations. The modern day gods are the institutions of government, and the
disappearance of government in Blindness is the modern Gotterdammerug, which forces humanity
to face its natural state by forming new morals or devolve into animals. Gotterdammerug... Show

In Blindness, this uncertainty in one s fate comes from the absence of control due to the
government s disappearance. The government began to disappear when it started a quarantine in
which soldiers had orders to shoot (Saramago 63). A government is there to help and protect, but
the government, as represented through soldiers at the quarantine, is ready to kill its people. The
government begins to lose its claim to legitimacy as it fails to uphold its own purpose The doctor
observes that their situation is all against the rules of humanity (Saramago 63). However, acting on
such orders would be a different matter, demonstrating that there is no more true government but a
tyranny. The tyranny initially comes about when the car thief came up against the metal plate at

Thomas Vs Hobbes
For instance, Thomas Hobbes came up with a solution for the state of nature that is the social
contract. The state of nature was defined by Hobbes that without the protection from the law or
the state, people can still live comfortably without a sense of fear. This is possible if the world is
remains innocent and pure, however, the reality is, the world has changed, people has changed.
People nowadays are willing to do anything to get what they want; it is no longer moralityover
desire but rather desire over morality. Thus, people will only live insecurely and under fear
constantly in a world without law and without obedience of law by human. In other words, there
will be no peace without law as depending on morality alone, depending on the

Central Park Five Essay
The movie The Central Park Five was a documentary film. It is talking about five young men
were involved in a rape case. One white woman was raped and left for dead in the central park in
1989. Police officers arrested five fifteen years old suspects. The government did not have enough
evidence to judge these five black men and Latino Americans; however, because of the racial
discrimination, the justices judged them as guilty and sentenced them to jail about 9 to 15 years.
After few months, Matias Reyes confessed to the rape case and the lab test also showed that the
sperm was matched. The five teenagers were released after the suspect confessed his crime.

That black man was angry, but there was nothing he could do, so he kept jogging and left. From
this example, we can see that the inequlity not only happened in the past, but also happened in the
present.
Racism was a big problem during the 18 and 19 s century. White peoplealways thought that they
were at the higher level in the society and they treated black harshly. They could trade them in the
markets. They also thought the deserved to have better life, better education, better house, etc. Why
this happened? The government was the chief culprit. The government educated white people that
they were above the blacks. Because of that, they taught their children in the same idea. Luckily,
the growing number of people realized that it was unfair and they tried to make the government
treated everyone equally. More than that, the government laid down the law of protecting all of the
colored people; however, even the laws passed, the racism still happens today. Black peoplewere
classified as robbers, murders, or thieves and a lot of people judge them with this category.
All in all, racism should not happened in this present day, and it is terrible if that happened;
however, as we could see, America has went through this by having a black president today. Since
that, America is trying to tell that everyone is equal and has the same rights, no matter where they
came from, what color of their skin, and what races they belong

The Stigma Of The Homeless
During the Great Depression, the homeless were almost glamorized as vagabonds who rode the
rails with their belongings neatly tied up in a bandana over their shoulder. Today, the homeless can
be anyone: children or women escaping an abusive relationship or those who just cannot afford to
pay for housing. While some homeless people maintain employment of some sort, long term
homelessnessis usually a function of the inverse; either severely under employed or no income
stream at all with which to pay rent and utilities. While quite a bit of academic research has shown
the need to focus on societal causes of homelessness, people who are homeless seem to be
increasingly perceived and treated within a paradigm of individual sickness. While... Show more

National estimates suggest that nearly 2 million youth experience homelessness (Rhodes, Wine
Rice, April 2014) and that between 5 25% of those have some sort of pet. While it appears that
pet ownership may contribute to a wide range of benefits, this also presents conflicts that arise
within the homeless population. Homeless respondents also have stated that the general public
tends to treat them better or are more likely to talk to them because of their pets, with the pets
acting as social facilitators (Ibed). Pet ownership can strike such a strong emotional chord within a
homeless person that it has been found within research that had not specifically focused on pet
ownership within the homeless community have identified pets as a self reported barrier to having
access to social support mechanisms. This attachment to their pets are many times so strong that
they (homeless) would sacrifice personal healthcare and other social services if no one was

Opposing forces When looking back on the Sixties, one of the most dominating themes of that
period was the Civil Rights Movement. The quest for civil rights had been started long ago,
when the black man was freed from the bonds of slavery. Over a hundred years later, the
problem of blacks being treated as second class citizens still persisted. What could be done to
correct the present situation? Some, both blacks and whites, believed that non violence was the
only means to achieve civil rights, as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached. Others like Huey
Newton of the Black Panthers believed that violence was the only way. (W. H. Chafe: The

fundamentally, change had to begin within the black communities themselves. Blacks need to
assert their own influence and control over their neighborhoods, school districts, etc. They need
to be active participants in government, because any federal program conceived with black

Happiness Is The Best Thing Essay
For Aristotle, happiness is the best thing, for it is a thing for and in itself. Happiness is derived
from ethics, and ethics is answer to how you achieve happiness. Virtue is a means in which ethics
are preformed and are derived from passions and actions. That is, passions and actions are means in
which ethical virtueis performed in order to gain happiness. Aristotlebelieves that for anything to be
known it must derive from four causes. From these causes we understand what ethicsis and its
relation to the soul, virtue and how these are used to obtain happiness. Though happiness is the
final goal it still must be journeyed through introspective and active movements by the self. The
four causes are a means to argue a philosophical question. They include efficient causes; the
source of movement that will be understood as the why or by which. Material cause is concerned
with the out of which and formal cause deals with form or shape and is understood as the into
which or what was being. The purpose of these causes is to come to a conclusion, the final cause,
or rather an end or goal; the desire that the original philosophical question is concerned with and it
is understood as for the sake of which. It is by these four causes we can understand what ethics
deals with and how we understand it s purpose. Ethics is concerned with what is the good life for
me, and the final cause will be happiness. The remaining causes will help in understanding why

Winston Churchill was arguably one of the most significant political leaders in the last century. A
soldier, athlete, author, reporter, British politician, and international statesman, Churchill is best
known as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 1945. He organized and guided
British resistance against Nazi Germany s effort to subdue the European Continent and heavily

In 1915 he presided over the most significant political and military defeat of the war the Gallipoli
campaign. Churchill, in searching for an alternative to the statement on the Western Front in
France, advocated for an attack from a different direction to force the Germans to fight on multiple
fronts he chose to fight at Gallipoli on the Dardanelles Peninsula of Turkey. Gallipoli was a disaster
and Churchill resigned in its aftermath. Out of government, he successfully lobbied for
reinstatement of his Army commission and a command in France. For six months he commanded
the 6th Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers in the trenches. After his command was reorganized
and eliminated, he returned to the Liberal Asquith government as Minister of Munitions, Secretary
of State for War, and Secretary of State for Air. After the war, Churchill again switched parties and
served as Chancellor of the Exchequer in the Conservative government of Stanley Baldwin. After a
ten year absence from leadership, Churchill was again appointed First Lord of the Admiralty on the
outbreak of World War II. Culminating in 1940, with the resignation of Neville Chamberlain, he
was appointed to his first term as Prime Minister.

The Conflict Between Modern And Traditional Culture
The conflict between modern and traditional culture continues to have a significant impact on
people with strong cultural beliefs. In Dead Men s Path , Chinua Achebe uses literary elements of
setting, symbolism, conflict and irony to analyze the theme of cultural conflict between people
with modern values and traditional culture. To set the background, Achebe begins the story with a
twenty six years old young man being elected as a principal of a rural school located in a village
in Nigeria during British colonization in the first month of 1949. He sets the mood beginning with
happiness, as the protagonist Michael Obi receives the new assignment as principal of the school

To further enhance the story, Achebe intentionally chooses the harmful allamanda vine to fence
the sacred path of the residents to symbolize alienation. Scientifically, allamanda vines have
bountiful yellow pompon with a delicate scent and are used for decoration mostly to cover large
areas. Besides the beautiful aspect of the flower, the plant contains a toxic substance that if
consumed it can be deadly. It is conspicuous, why this plant was used to cover the sacred path. To
the contrary of allamanda vine, the author chooses beautiful hibiscus (Achebe 11) to symbolize
another aspect of cultural difference and the need to harmonize the two together. Hibiscus is a
graceful plant with beautiful red flower heads signifying unity and peace. It is understandable, that
is the author s desire to convey the message of the importance of unity among cultures. In like
manner, both the hibiscus and allamanda vine, are extrinsic floras comparing to the local
neighborhood bushes. (Achebe 11) It is the author s way of using the shrubs as a symbol of cultural
difference. In relation to the flower images, Achebe uses the path symbolic image to signify the
meaning of the divine connection between the village shrine (Achebe 11) and their descendants.
For the villagers, the pathway is a sacred path to which they remain connected with their dead
families. To shortly mention,

A Brief Note On The Common Type Of Bone Cancer Essay
Osteosarcoma Osteosarcoma is the most common type of bone cancer. Approximately 800 new
cases of this disease are diagnosed in the United States every year and about 400 of these are in
children and teens (American Society). This type of bone cancer commonly affects adolescents and
young adults, but is not limited to this age range. This canceroccurs about twice as often in males
than females. This illness can undoubtedly emerge in any bone but most of the times it occurs in
long bones before possibly spreading to others areas of the body. The negative impact that
Osteosarcoma has on patient s life is not different from other cancer patients. It is important to
inform others about what Osteosarcoma is, how it is diagnosed and treated, and explain
organization and research being done in order to create better awareness about this condition
because it is life threatening.
Osteosarcoma is a frequent primary malignant cancerous tumor of the skeleton characterized by
the direct formation of immature bone or how it arises in the osteoid tissue in the bone (Picci).
This type of bone cancer develops in the osteoblasts cells in normal bone. It begins in the bones
but it can sometimes spread to other areas of the body including organs, such as lungs, and bones.
Osteosarcoma unfolds in areas where the bone is growing fast because of the uncontrolled growth
of the cells in the bone. In fact Scientist have not discovered the causes of most cases of

The Power Of Destiny In Macbeth
Thesis
Shakespeare s Macbeth details the outside entities which hold complete influence in the title
character s rise to the Scottish throne and his following demise, ultimately arguing that we have no
power to create our own destiny in the real world.
Body #1
In Macbeth, the most obvious entities controlling the title character s fate are the Three Weird
Sisters, meant both in the play and in classic myth to represent weavers of destiny. Evidence of
the sisters ability to manipulate the future indicating that individuals have no control over the
outcome of their lives is abundant in their dialogue. When Macbeth meets the sisters deliberately
seeking wisdom for the future, the first apparition warns him Macbeth shall never vanquished be
until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill shall come against him. [. (4.1.105 107). When
he asks for one more word, the second tells him Laugh to scorn the power of man, for none of
woman born shall harm Macbeth. (4.1.81 83). Given these excerpts, it is clear the witches are not
independent agents playing on Macbeth s ambition and merely giving him the idea of murder to
become king, but are rather privy to information about his future. The power of the witches goes
beyond their power is limited to being able to foresee events. On the contrary, scenes in the play
highlight the power of the witches to cause mayhem within the lives of people. When the sisters are
first presented in the story, the first asserts I myself have

Immigration Policies And Naturalization Laws During World...
During the years between 1882 and 2000, immigration and naturalization were always important
issues for the United States. The United States stance on its policies and laws towards immigrants
and their naturalization saw drastic changes during this time period, which reasons ranges from
American s experience with the immigrants and the nation s changing relationship with other
countries. During the beginning of the time period between 1882 and 2000, the United Statestook a
restrictive approach on its immigration policies and naturalization law, mainly because of American
s fear of job competition with the immigrants, and also because of their racism. However, the
change in relationships between United States and other nations during World War II marked the
turning point of the nation s approach on those policies and laws, where the United States slowly
began to reopen its door of immigration. And in the late 20th century, the United States continued
its approach on open immigration policies and naturalization laws that began during World War II
due to the same reason, but at the same time the nation also passed restrictive policies towards
undocumented immigrants. During the beginning of the time period between 1882 and 2000, the
United States policies towards immigration and naturalization became more and more restrictive
due to American s fear of competition with immigrants for jobs and their buildup of racism towards
those immigrants. Chinese immigrants were the first

Summary Of The Song Pretty Hurts
Music is a really powerful thing that should not be taken lightly nor underestimated. Every song
has the ability to explore themes and issues in society through lyrics and music videos. In
December of 2013, successful singer songwriter BeyoncГ© Knowles came out with a lyrically

world. The combination of techniques and conventions used in both the lyrics and the musicvideo

Joseph Stalin s Ignorance
On the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, competition emerged between leading Bolsheviks Leon
Trotsky and Joseph Stalin to succeed as Soviet leader. There were several reasons why Stalin,
rather than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s
arrogance; Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be

resulted in Stalin s succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. Despite starting his political journey

Issues In Psychological Profiling
Historically, crime and criminals have always caught the attention of law abiding citizens.
Whenever there is mention of serial killers or unsolved murders or abductions, psychological
profiling, floats to the top of the list of concerns (Egger, 1999). Psychological profiling is an
attempt to provide investigators with more information about an offender who has not yet been
identified (Egger, 1999). Its purpose is to develop a behavioral composite that combines both
sociological and psychological assessment of the would be offender. The type of person who could

By the mid 1950s, a psychiatrist named Dr. James Brussel, with no prior links to law enforcement,
was asked by the New York City PoliceDepartment to profile the Mad Bomber of New York

Brussel was able to develop a profile that described the bomber in detail. He claimed that
offender would be heavy set, middle aged, and foreign born. That he was Roman Catholic, single
and lived with a sibling. He added that when found, the offender would most likely be wearing a

Though the goldfields did provide a clean slate and removed much racial tension by giving
everyone a command ground to run from, some still held their previous beliefs that they were
superior to other cultures. This is evident in Source 2, which said, ...he had mislead me because he
thought I was a German. Other sources of racism include the initial attitude of Australia and the
White Australia Policy and the Mongolian Octopus cartoon, which accompanied many other similar
illustrations. Source 1 clearly back the multiculturalism of the goldfields, saying, Their outward
appearance does not signify their previous importance, worth of mental attainments.
Multiculturalism, although normally associated with an accepting community, is not necessarily
the case, as it is only the act of having many cultures in one jurisdiction. Eventually, the
multicultural views did take place in Australia, which was caused by the influx of foreign citizens
because of the gold rush, even though it was not initially successful. Source 2 also casts another
view on the instability of the racial beliefs and attitudes, Many a one would not, a short while
before, bother to look at a fellow with whom he now works. This shows how many, if not the
majority of the diggers put their racial prejudice behind them and found that the others were not, in
fact all that different from

Johann Van Beethoven And The Greatest Composer Of All Time

Take Home Test Part 1
Beethoven
Due 11/19/14
Ludwig Van Beethoven lived a very complex life. When Beethoven was a young boy he suffered
the abuse of his alcoholic father. He later lost who he thought to be the only one who ever loved
him , along with his hearing which due to his passion for music made him feel less important.
Beethoven went through struggle after struggle making a name for himself. But despite all of the
heartache and despair in his life his music overcame it all. Beethoven used his musical abilities to
overcome his sadness and unknowingly helping others overcome theirs as well.

Young Beethoven was repeatedly hit by his father and locked in the cellar to practice his music.
His father made him practice for hours causing sleep deprivation. Being so young the father s
abuse caused long term problems in Beethoven s life. He studied the violin and clavier with his
father while also taking lessons from organists around town on the side. Beethoven was a extremely
talented musician which was made apparent even when he was a young child. Whether this was
due to natural talent or his fathers persistent torment we will never know. However, Beethoven
showed his skills in creativity and patience while he was very young, things that his father could not
of really taught him.
The death of Beethoven s mother caused him to fall into a deep depression. It was hard for him
to lose who he considered to be the only one who ever loved him . Beethoven s mother helped
lessen the abuse inflicted by his drunken father when Beethoven was a child, and for that
Beethoven was very thankful. When Beethoven was older his talent was discovered and he left
his home to go to Vienna and study with Haydn and ended up spending the rest of his life there.
Beethoven secretly took lessons with other teachers and never told Haydn. One of Beethoven s
greatest abilities was how he could improvise parts of his music. The people of Vienna were
amazed with his work. Unfortunately Beethoven began to get his first symptoms of

Altruism within society s standards can be described as a selfless concern or action for others
(Webster s Dictionary 2012). On September 25, 2012, an Oregon teenager named Marcus Ugarte
bravely entered a burning house in order to bring a young child named Cody Ma to safety (ABC
News 2012). Both families had never met previously, but there was no hesitation on Marcus part
of climbing up to the second story of the house to save Cody. Marcus risked his own life and was
able to guide Cody out of the house and down the ladder. He is being heralded as a hero in his
community of Troutdale for his courageous actions. Another example of how altruismcan be
viewed in today s society can be seen in the works of Mother Teresa and her plethora of altruistic
acts throughout the globe. Although her focus was in India where she persued her novitiate
(training), her organization has opened over 500 centers around the world helping the dying and
the destitute (Moore 2002, pg. x). She took in the untouchables of society and gave them care and
made sure that they were comfortable. Mother Teresa is often used as the benchmark when
determining whether a selfless act is truly altruistic. Even in nature you see acts of altruism. An
example is the meerkat; who participates in a cooperative breeding and feeding, and community
guarding. The dominant males and females are the chosen , which are allowed to breed

Variables showing statistically significant associations with a p value 0.25 from the univariate
analysis were first examined for collinearity and then were entered into the multivariate analysis.
Using Proc Surveylogistic , multinomial logistic regression models for the prediction of the single
fall and recurrent falls were conducted, considering non fallers as the reference group. At every
step of the modeling process, a variable selection decision was made using alpha value of 0.05 as
the significance level [28]. When a variable was removed, testing for confounding by comparing
the values of the estimated regression coefficients between the two models at each stage were
carried out. Any change in the regression coefficient values of 20% or more was considered an
indication of confounding and the variable was retained in the model. Based on the literature, all
major interactions among the variables in the model were tested, using 0.05 as the level of
significance. Finally, the predictive power of the model was evaluated using a Cox Snell pseudo
R square [29]. Statistical tests were based on a two tailed level of significance, with an alpha value
of 0.05.

The banking industry in Nigeria has witnessed tremendous changes linked with the developments in
ICT over the years. The quest for survival, global relevance, maintenance of existing market share
and sustainable development has made exploitation of the many advantages of ICT through the use
of automated devices imperative in the industry. This study evaluates the response of Nigerian
banks to this new trend and examines the extent to which they have adopted innovative
technologies in their operations and the resultant effects. Information and Communication
Technology Information Technology (IT) is the automation of processes, controls, and information
production using computers, telecommunications, software and ancillary equipment such as
automated teller machine and debit cards (Khalifa 2000). It is a term that 4 generally covers the

including account opening, customer account mandate, and transaction processing and recording.

Black bears are the smallest North American bears however; they are the largest land mammal in
New Jersey. Black bears evolved in thick forest and live in mixed hardwood forests, dense swamps
and forested wetlands. They naturally like to eat fresh leaves, berries, fruits, nuts, roots, insects,
bird eggs and small mammals. Black bearsare generally solitary animals, with the exception of a
sow and her cubs. They tend to be crepuscular, meaning they are most active shortly before
sunrise and again after sunset. Black bears are typically not aggressive and tend to be wary of

The New Jersey Fish and Game Council have come up with a management strategy to handle the

2000s bear hunting was illegal and many people were against legalizing it again. In order to
compromise a bear hunting season was passed which was started in the beginning of December
and held concurrently with the state s six day firearm deer hunting season. Bear hunting zones
include large sections of Morris, Sussex, Warren, and northern Passaic counties, plus smaller areas
of Hunterdon, Somerset and Bergen counties. There is a limit of one bear per licensed and
registered hunter. This method of black bear population management was and is still successful. In
2003 and 2005 the success was based on 1) the target harvests were obtained; 2) the seasons were
conducted safely with no hunter accidents and without incident of trespassing or other complaints;
and 3) biological data on bears, hunter success and hunter participation was

Critical Analysis of The Electronic Sweatshop by Barbara Garson *No Works Cited Summary In
her introduction, Barbara Garson gives the reader an idea of her personal work experience as a
clerk with automation. One can see that Garson is a strong critique of automation. In order to
convey how automation is affecting our society the author begins by analyzing and studying
various jobs from the bottom on up (i.e. starting with the most unskilled labor). Chapter one
examines the various occupations at McDonalds s. Barbara Garson finds that most workers here
tend to dislike their jobs. Due to the tremendous amount of stress created by automated systems

At first I tried to use my own conversational skills when dealing with customers, but it did not
take long until my supervisors started to discipline me about how important it supposedly is to
follow the given scripts. Hence, I used these scripts and my 5 hour work day seemed like an
eternity. I felt like a wind up doll and eventually quit the job although I was desperately in need
of money. The reason I am mentioning this is because I believe that in reality there is no
difference between the fast food employee and the reservation agent in terms of individuality.
Through automation, both professions have lost their personal touch to the public. In my case I
tried to solicit funds from individuals using my own ideas and creativity, yet was not allowed to
do so. Hence, my job became monotonous. Quite honestly I do not believe Kenny when he
states that he likes his work. He argues that he gets to deal with the public. But in order to do so
he follows an unoriginal set of scripts and phrases. Thus, does he really get to talk to the public
or is he merely a machine or parrot triggered by certain key words such as Yes, No, or Maybe.
Furthermore, Kenny was an actor. This profession also requires one to follow scripts, yet what sets
one actor apart from another is their individuality. When Kenny plays a role where he has to
portray certain emotions he does not follow a

The Golden Age Of Medieval Philosophy
Medieval philosophy is the philosophy which formed during the medieval time period after the fall
of the Roman Empire. This time period was the rise of independent philosophy and the linkage
between their understandings with the theories of past philosophers. The history of medieval
philosophy is divided into two periods; the period of the Christian philosophy, which included St.
Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine, and Marsilius of Padua. The next period of the medieval
philosophy known as the golden age of Arabic phosphors, this age of philosophers included Al
Farabi, Ibn Tufayl, and Moses Maimonides. both political periods were infused with great

He argues that the leading authority of the state should be the political government and the church
must step down and allow the state to fulfill its responsibilities. St. Augustine shared similar
beliefs to Aquinas. He beloved that man is evil, so there is a need for political authority. His idea
was that the people within the state would act virtuously and by doing this, they would follow the
laws set by man.
The medieval philosophers originated from the middle east, yet most adopted Jewish beliefs.
Constitutors such as al farabi, ibn tufayl, and moss Maimonides produced some of the most
profound pieces in Arabic political history. During this time, the Islamic region strongly dismissed
the notions of Aristotle and Plato and focused solely on their religious teaching. But the Arabic
philosophers saw a connection between the two. yet, they found it necessary to incorporate the idea
of reason into their teachings. This caused conflict within their society because the citizens believed
that there was no need for reason, rather the only need was God and his teachings. Further, they
believed that the teachings of reason did not link to their religious values. Al Farabi infused his
work with the work of Aristotle and Plato such as; the survival of the soul and the punishment of
the afterlife. Ibn Tufayl philosophy pertaining to religion explains the harmony of joining reason

When it comes to communicating with people in our daily lives, there are many people that think
there is just talking and listening to the other people in the communicating process. However, there
is actually five step in the communication process; which are as follows: 1.) sending the message
out to someone, 2.) sending the message through a medium, 3.) receiving the message ,
4.) understanding the message the person had sent, and 5.) giving your feedback to the individual
that had sent the message to you.

The
formal channel is the conventional method of communication in any police
department, which usually follows a chain of command. This kind of
communication channel is characterized by directives, written memorandums, and
formal orders. This type of communication gives a sense of security to a police
department, while at the same time provides a sense of order in the department.
There are some disadvantages to this type of communication, one is that it is very
time consuming and personnel consuming, Another disadvantage is that the formal
channel of communication has is that it effects the free flow of information between
the speaker and the receiver.
The formal channel can seem to be a hindrance to spontaneous thoughts and ideas.
There are also advantages to formal communication channels. The formal channel
provides the police organization with a type of consistency, because all officers
5 receive the same information. This is significant when there is information about a
crime, and t his information needs to get the officers that are out patrolling the area.
An informal channel of communication is basically departmental gossips. This
basically is an unofficial channel of communication within a police organization.
The information from these channels will not be seen on any black boards, emails,

considered an acceptable good sign if the animal shivers. On the flip side, if the animal did not

second animal being killed. In addition, to the practice of the animal be a sacrifice, the goat

A Personal Philosophy of Education
A personal philosophy of education serves to unify the experience of teaching for the individual. It
provides our students with a professional that understands the context of learning from which their
classroom stems. It also ensures a personal sense of growth: a lifelong process valued by the
profession as a whole. I have combined beliefs from pedagogical, ethical and personally developed
ideas I intend to use as a foundation in creating a nurturing classroom environment. Educationcould
be defined ad infinitum, but for the purposes of synchronicity I have organized my beliefs in terms
of four elements: enculturation, potential, inspiration and development. The meeting point of these
ideas is the philosophical ideology of existentialist education. As defined by Dr. V.K. Maheshwari
(2011), the origin of existentialism: rejects the existence of any source of objective, authoritative
truth about metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics. Instead, individuals are responsible for
determining for themselves what is true or false, right or wrong, beautiful or ugly. For the
existentialist, there exists no universal form of human nature; each of us has the free will to
develop as we see fit. The focus is entirely student centered, whereas the teacher serves as a guide
seeking to educate the whole person. The goal of such a classroom is to develop a thoughtful,
creative, self actualizing adult capable of rational thought, effective communication and independent

  • 2. The Problem Of Child Sexual Abuse Essay Introduction Child sexual abuse is one of the most serious public health problems and crimes in the world, resulting from the interaction of individual, family, social, and cultural factors (Pereda, Guilera, Forns, GГіmez Benito, 2009). In China, there is increasing coverage about some particular cases and increasing number of reports to All China Women s Federation (ACWF) from only a hundred in second half of 1997 to over 3000 in 2000 (Long, 2007), but it could be believed that the number of cases is considerably less than the actual crimes. In order to further protect children and prevent CSA, it should understand the prevalence of CSA in China and explore whether there are some specific situations in China, such as the rates in cities and rural areas. According to two international meta analysis research of CSA, the rate of CSA is comparatively lower in some Asian countries (Pereda et al., 2009; Stoltenborgh, van Ijzendoorn, Euser and Bakermans Kranenburg, 2011). In the two meta analyses, the number of Chinese studies is higher than that of other Asian countries, so it may be believed that the CSA problem may be less serious in China than that in other countries. However, it is still questionable about the rate of the specific abusing type, including the contact CSA and the penetrative CSA, which may be higher for any gender than that in the international level. The comparisons between Chinese and international estimates This section aims to explore the prevalence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Importance Of Student Needs On School-Wide Transition Student Needs Title 1 School wide Transition Our efforts as teachers to boost learning are most effective when we share the same philosophy: The focus is all about the kids, not what works best for us, as teachers. A student centered mindset is proving what s best for each child. Our current MTSS (Multi Tiered System of Support) pathway provides a backbone to students academic needs. To assure that all students have every opportunity to reach their full potential, various programs and interventions are in place to meet the unique needs of all students who attend Oakes Elementary. Therefore, it was only pertinent that I take our Title 1 program to that same level and lead our school through the process of transitioning from a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the opportunity arose, it was a no brainer that we had to take the leap. The many hours of completing a comprehensive needs assessment, brainstorming and documenting school wide reform strategies, along with compiling four goals that were considered big and scary, we were doing what s best for kids! I thank Anna Sell, my building principal, for believing in me and providing necessary information so that this could become a reality for our school. The final outcome of this endeavor was to be named Title 1 Exceptional Teacher of the Year. I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the fantastic team of teachers, administration, and most importantly the lives we touch everyday...the kids! This award comes with a $12,000 grant to be spent on allowable expenditure to upgrade what we do here at OES for kids. I am excited to look into a few new ideas for my classroom with flexible seating, attend the National Title 1 convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in February 2018 with a colleague, and purchase materials for our strategic and intensive interventions. By all means, we are not finished here! Our teaching staff meets weekly to discuss student needs, performance, and assessments. Then in the spring of the year, I will hold a meeting and school wide review for all teaching staff and parents where we will look into the data and determine academic achievement ... • 4. The Cause Of Generalized Anxiety Disorders In the United States, 85% of all adults and teenagers, more females than males, have been depressed at one point in their life. (Davey) Although the term is used loosely because people tend to incorrectly self diagnose their sadness as depression, it is actually defined as a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how one feels and the way he or she thinks and acts. (Parekh). In most cases, depression is accompanied with a type of anxietydisorder such as as generalized anxiety disorderand social anxiety (Facts). The cause of them occurring at the same time is unknown, but scientists believe that it is caused by a malfunction of brain chemistry. Although interactions may be limited, they are beneficial to a depressed person (Hagerty). Social relationships with close friends have proved to help lower depression rates and even make it less severe. Relationships are extremely beneficial to depression because they often help prevent severe depression or even overcome it over time. Relationships boost confidence from their partner and provide them with the idea that they are not alone. It has been proven that those who do not have depression also tend to relate more with those that do have it because non depressed people tend to have a more positive outlook on life and tend to be more giving and understanding. Many people stand with immunizations and believe that everyone should get the ones required before entering the education system. • 6. This Bitter Earth Dance Concert Report I was at Vale remix last night. I really enjoyed every piece, but admit that at by the time the last piece started about 2 1/2 hours in, I was having trouble concentrating. Some impressions I d love to see more of BalletX and Matthew Neeman s choreography. This one viewing left me with the feeling that the dancers are accomplished, distinctive and versatile. Newman created duets that had individuality and moved dancers around the stage in unison dancing in a captivating way. I also enjoyed the Limon piece with R. Fairchild and T. Peck. The independent variable would be changing the air conditions and the dependent variable would be the acceleration. Furthermore, there are questions that could be investigated from this lab. • 9. Government Contribution To The Industrial Revolution... Rapid growth of business, industrialization and monopolies, contributed to the Industrial Revolution in the United States during the Progressive Era. Following a policy of laissez faire failed to control big businesses. Although some critics may believe that the government negatively impacted businesses during the Industrial Revolution, the regulations put onto businesses positively contributed to economic growth and protected the American Citizens from the big businesses.Prior to the industrial revolution in America, businesses were small and family owned and did not cause many problems. At the time the largest enterprises only employed around 50 people ( Corporations ). With only small businesses up to the 1870 s the government was able to follow laissez faire policies. However, the industrial revolution grew in Europe and quickly made its way to America. Businesses rapidly began to grow and monopolies formed. The need for railroads and transportation supported the growth of industries ( Corporations ). The railroads made it easy to transport manufactured goods across the nation ( Industrial ). Robber barons, John Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan, took advantage of the need for new industries and quickly began to ruin the country; their monopolies controlled everything. • 10. Predator Prey Paper The role of predation is critical in shaping ecosystem structure and function (Berger et al., 2001; Hawlena and Schmitz, 2010). Predator prey interactions can alter community composition (Kneite and Chase, 2004), mediate trophic cascades (Mooney et al., 2010), increase biodiversity (Letnic and Ritchie, 2012), and affect speciesinvasions (Snyder et al. 2004). Furthermore, predators can control the dynamics of prey populations by influencing such aspects as survival, growth, behavior, size structure, and distribution (Beauchamp et al., 2007) while prey can likewise regulate predator populations (Yoshida et al., 2003; Ishii and Shimada, 2010). One of the primary components of predator prey interactions is the behavior and subsequent survival of prey in the presence of predators which we focus on in this study. For decades scientists have studied the behavioral response of prey to predators. Numerous studies have directly linked prey activity levels (e.g. Skelly, 1994; McIntyre et al. 2012) and refuge use (e.g. Cowlishaw, 1997; Belgrad and Smith, 2014) to predationrisk, while other investigations have determined that predator avoidance behaviors (e.g. migration, reduced foraging) can limit prey growth (Werner et al., 1983), development (Skelly and Werner, 1990), and fecundity (Peckarsky et al., 1993). These behavioral changes also have an enormous... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... CONTENTS Executive summary Introduction Definition A Circular economy as a regenerative system in which resource input and waste, emission, and energy leakage are minimized by slowing, closing, and narrowing material and energy loops. This can be achieved through long lasting design, maintenance, repair, reuse, remanufacturing, refurbishing, and recycling. (Martin Geissdoerfer a, 2017) Concept We can state that in Circular economy utilizing old merchandise and utilizing crude material which is as waste, and it can be replicated and reused by reusing the item by utilizing the imaginative thoughts remembering that it doesn t influence the earth. This will help everyone to spare cash and it will give steady employment to individuals to work more in up and coming future. As we probably are aware we are in the new time of the business world as individuals are presently moving from paper cash to plastic cash and it is the change time frame for the world economy. Along these lines, same applies to our items as they require some change on the grounds that the entire world is moving towards the cutting edge world. Looking beyond the current [take, make and dispose] extractive industrial model, the circular economy is restorative and regenerative by design . (1.macarthur, 2017) The circular economy can be explained as using raw materials, recycle it and use new technologies to make more efficient so that our product can be sustained for long period of time. While we are performing these task, we can generate more jobs and we require more employees as we are in producing phase, so we need more and more employees to perform the job. This sector works perfectly because we are recycling the waste and reproducing it by using different ideas, procedures and technologies to make our product perfect. (1.macarthur, 2017)

Sherlock Holmes is a world wide known character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. After killing him off Doyle brings back Sherlock in The Hounds of the Baskervilles. In the Hounds of the Baskervilles the internationally known character Sherlock lives up to his own legend. One of the most well known things about Sherlock is his extremely high intelligence, his power of deduction, and his keen ability to understand and predict human behavior. Another thing Sherlock is internationally notable for is his love for a challenge of someone intelligent. Counter Terrorism Alternatives James Penney English Composition II Nikkele Shelton 25 August 2014 Counter Terrorism Alternatives In today s day and age, the fear of terrorism is not only a common sentiment, but is also a rising subject of debate. In order to keep troops out of harm s way, the United States has looked for alternate means of combatting terrorist organizations. Since September 11, 2001 the United States has relied heavily on its men and women in uniform to prevent terrorism abroad. Technology of today and the use of intelligence offer the United States alternate means of addressing terrorism. For instance, drone strikes were called by former US CIA director Leon Panetta, the only game in town in term of confronting or trying to disrupt the Al Qaeda leadership (ODLE, 2013). With the use of typology, socioeconomic assistance, drones, diplomatic engagement and enhanced airline security services, the use of military force is not the only way to prevent terrorism. If our country wants to never send another son or daughter to war then we must first understand who the terrorists are. Former President George Bush said we fight against poverty because hope is an answer to terror (Lee 2011). On the other hand, there are studies that say the opposite, that terrorism is not related to poverty. Poverty and education are very important factors of what violence occurs. The lower the poverty and education the increased chances for violence. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to (Adler, Mueller, Laufer, 2012), there are three main criminal behavior theories; Labeling theory, Conflict theory and the Radical theory. Each theory outlines different perspectives on why an individual engages in criminal activity along with the public s reaction. The first theory is the Labeling theory which was first contemplated by Charles Horton Cooley, William I. Thomas, and George Herbert Mead around 1918. White peoplealways thought that they were at the higher level in the society and they treated black harshly. They could trade them in the markets. The government educated white people that they were above the blacks. Because of that, they taught their children in the same idea. Happiness is derived from ethics, and ethics is answer to how you achieve happiness. Virtue is a means in which ethics are preformed and are derived from passions and actions. That is, passions and actions are means in which ethical virtueis performed in order to gain happiness. Aristotlebelieves that for anything to be known it must derive from four causes. From these causes we understand what ethicsis and its relation to the soul, virtue and how these are used to obtain happiness. Though happiness is the final goal it still must be journeyed through introspective and active movements by the self. The four causes are a means to argue a philosophical question. He sets the mood beginning with happiness, as the protagonist Michael Obi receives the new assignment as principal of the school and enthusiastically prepares for the new school year, and ends the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To further enhance the story, Achebe intentionally chooses the harmful allamanda vine to fence the sacred path of the residents to symbolize alienation. Scientifically, allamanda vines have bountiful yellow pompon with a delicate scent and are used for decoration mostly to cover large areas. Besides the beautiful aspect of the flower, the plant contains a toxic substance that if consumed it can be deadly. It is conspicuous, why this plant was used to cover the sacred path. To the contrary of allamanda vine, the author chooses beautiful hibiscus (Achebe 11) to symbolize another aspect of cultural difference and the need to harmonize the two together. Hibiscus is a graceful plant with beautiful red flower heads signifying unity and peace. It is understandable, that is the author s desire to convey the message of the importance of unity among cultures. In like manner, both the hibiscus and allamanda vine, are extrinsic floras comparing to the local neighborhood bushes. (Achebe 11) It is the author s way of using the shrubs as a symbol of cultural difference. In relation to the flower images, Achebe uses the path symbolic image to signify the meaning of the divine connection between the village shrine (Achebe 11) and their descendants. • 35. The Power Of Destiny In Macbeth Thesis Shakespeare s Macbeth details the outside entities which hold complete influence in the title character s rise to the Scottish throne and his following demise, ultimately arguing that we have no power to create our own destiny in the real world. Body #1 In Macbeth, the most obvious entities controlling the title character s fate are the Three Weird Sisters, meant both in the play and in classic myth to represent weavers of destiny. Evidence of the sisters ability to manipulate the future indicating that individuals have no control over the outcome of their lives is abundant in their dialogue. When Macbeth meets the sisters deliberately seeking wisdom for the future, the first apparition warns him Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill shall come against him. [. (4.1.105 107). When he asks for one more word, the second tells him Laugh to scorn the power of man, for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth. (4.1.81 83). Given these excerpts, it is clear the witches are not independent agents playing on Macbeth s ambition and merely giving him the idea of murder to become king, but are rather privy to information about his future. The power of the witches goes beyond their power is limited to being able to foresee events. On the contrary, scenes in the play highlight the power of the witches to cause mayhem within the lives of people. The United States stance on its policies and laws towards immigrants and their naturalization saw drastic changes during this time period, which reasons ranges from American s experience with the immigrants and the nation s changing relationship with other countries. During the beginning of the time period between 1882 and 2000, the United Statestook a restrictive approach on its immigration policies and naturalization law, mainly because of American s fear of job competition with the immigrants, and also because of their racism. However, the change in relationships between United States and other nations during World War II marked the turning point of the nation s approach on those policies and laws, where the United States slowly began to reopen its door of immigration. And in the late 20th century, the United States continued its approach on open immigration policies and naturalization laws that began during World War II due to the same reason, but at the same time the nation also passed restrictive policies towards undocumented immigrants. These facts are supported in Source 1, which said, This society comprises men from all parts of the world, all countries and religions all mixed into one society, all dressed similarly all forced to forget their previous habits, earnings, customs, manners and occupations.
