Pope John Paul Report
Biography of Pope John Paul the Second
The most recognised man in the world, His Holiness Pope John Paul II was born in Wadowice, Poland
on the 18th May, 1920. When he was born he was given the name Karol Jozef Wojtyla, Karol after his
father and Jozef after the father of Jesus Christ. He was referred to affectionately as Lolek.
By the age of 21 the Pope had experienced great loss with the deaths of all the immediate members of
his family.
His mother died when he was only 8 years old, his elder brother, a doctor, when he was 12 and his
father when he was just 21. His father had dreamed of seeing his son enter the priesthood, but
unfortunately he did not live to see him become a priest.
As a schoolboy the Pope was an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time he participated in the second Vatican Council making contributions to the documents
that were the result of this Council.
On October 16th 1978 at the relatively young age of 58, Karol Wojtyla was elected Pope. He took the
name John Paul, after his predecessor who had died suddenly after only 33 days in office. He was an
unexpected choice. He was the first non Italian Pope in over 450 years, and he came from a
Communist country.
He said I was afraid to receive this nomination. But I did it in the spirit of obedience to Our Lord and
in the total confidence in His mother, the most holy Madonna . The Pope saw himself as the Servant of
the Servants of God and did away with much of the pomp and ceremony the office had previously
held.
In his 26 years as Pope he travelled widely visiting the Catholic Church s faithful followers all over
the world he visited many countries that had never had a Pope visit. His visits always attracted large
crowds. In 1995 while in the Philippines he said mass for a crowd of over 4 million.
One of his earliest visits was to his homeland Poland. His visit caused embarrassment for the
Communist authorities as Poland was officially atheist at that time, yet millions turned up to see the
Pope. He reminded his fellow Poles of their human rights and inspired the Polish Solidarity Union to
stand up to the Communist authorities. The Pope was instrumental in bringing about the collapse of

Essay On Chilean Earthquake
People tremble when they hear the word; destruction, and tragedy: all words that come to mind when
earthquake is heard. Earthquake is a natural calamity that has the power to destroy human lives in a
few seconds; it is responsible for the huge damage to living and non living things. It occurs without
warning and can cause millions of money in destruction and deaths and also it is one of the most
unpredictable and devastating occurrences Mother Nature dishes out. There is a sudden slip in the
earth s crust, which makes the earth shake causing mass destruction to buildings and people in the
surrounding areas. These areas in the earth s crust are called faults; the ground bends to a certain limit

The world s largest earthquake occurred on May 22, 1960 near Valdivia, in southern Chile. It was a
magnitude of 9.5; it is refereed to as the Great Chilean Earthquake and the 1960 Valdivia Earthquake .
Before the Great Chilean earthquake, three earthquakes stuck Chile which were a fore shock to the
main event and are known as the 1960 Concepción earthquakes ; the first earthquake struck on 21st
May 1960 it had a magnitude of 8.1 and lasted for about 35 seconds which destroyed a third of the
buildings and city of Concepción in Chile. The second happened the following day with a magnitude
of 6.8, while the third was a 7.9 magnitude on May 22, just 15 minutes before the Valdivia earthquake
(Anirudh, 2016). In the case of this enormous earthquake, the subduction (downward movement) of
the Nazca plate under the the South American continent is what caused the major quake back in 1960.
In fact, the Nazca plate continues to dive down below the continent and it s this constant slow
movement (with some occasional rapid shifts leading to big jolts) that creates earthquakes throughout
that region (Extreme

Legalism, Taoism, and Confucianism in Ancient China
Legalism, Taoism, and Confucianism in Ancient China Philosophies dictate the most basic beliefs,
concepts, and attitudes of individuals or groups, even entire civilizations. Since the beginning of time
there has been great debate among men over which philosophies to live life by. The list of
philosophies that exist in the world today is nearly endless, making it difficult to decide which one is
the most suitable to live by. Ancient China was arguably among one of the most philosophical cultures
that has ever existed to date. They had multiple schools of thought including Chinese Naturalism,
Mohism, Logicians, Confucianism, Taoism (Daoism), and Legalism. Many of these philosophies fell
into obscurity but three of them had a very large impact on ancient China and still have influence
around the globe today. Legalism, Taoism, and Confucianism each had its own ways of seeing the
nature of human beings, society, and the universe. Although they were all different they all shared a
similar purpose, to make society a better place. Because they are so different, however, different
people are going to prefer different philosophies. Confucianism and Taoism have and will continue to
be the topic of debate for time to come and although Legalism has not been practiced for some time
now, it still played a significant role in ancient Chinese history. (Confucianism, Legalism, Daoism)
Confucianism was founded by a man named Confucius. Confucius was a man who proposed that
society needed

Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge
Near the small town of San Antonio, NM is a spectacular display of one of nature s finest balanced
beauty and wilderness paradise, Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, situated on the northern
edge of the Chihuahuan desert and straddling the Rio Grande. Fitting is the name Bosque del Apache,
meaning woods of the Apache, a reminder of the Apache peoples of long ago who lived along the Rio
Grande. The 57,331 acre refuge was established in 1939 by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, an
effort aimed to preserve the area as a wildlife habitat. The nucleus of the refuge is 7,000 acres of flood
plain, an extensive area of wetlands and farmlands. Arid foothills and towering mesas ascend to the
Chupadera Mountains and the San Pascual Mountains, giving shape to a landscape that captivates.
Remnants of a lost civilization are evident in the petroglyphs in the region, along with stone tools and
other artifacts. The Piro Indians that lived in the valley at least 700 years ago, hunted, fished, and
farmed the land. Today, the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge protects the ruins that tell
their story. It continues to be a magnet for human migration along its corridor, and provides shelter for

Gifted Education In America
Education was built, along with many other things, to the average standard. It was designed with the
average student in mind, never really adapted towards those who grasps concepts quickly, accelerate
at rapid rates beyond their peers. As gifted, or exceptionally intelligence children make up around 6 to
10 percent of the students within America, roughly 3 to 5 million students ( Gifted Education in the
U.S ). But as America is behind in the general education, it is bounds behind in gifted education.
Teachers aren t equipped to challenge the gifted students, or simply have no time to spend developing
and nurturing the child s talents. Schools don t have programs to help the children develop at their

Once the children have been identified, they need to have an adequate program to aid in their
cognitive growth. The majority of gifted children are placed into the general education, leading to
boredom. As they understand concepts faster, especially abstract, boredom sets in as the children
continuously have to wait for their peers to catch up. Programs need to be made for them, as they are
the future. They will aid in the development and continuation of America, far more than the average
child. Several methods can be applied to a gifted program to keep the children engaged and their
minds simulated. Acceleration and Enrichment are two options, with the accelerated program having
the greatest positive feedback. Acceleration allows for the child to learn at a rapid pace, depending on
them not their peers, while enrichment is the addition of supplement information or reading
(Subotnik). Many programs in place presently have an accelerated program, but many are still too
slow or parents have no knowledge of it. The programs also puts less stress on the general education
teachers, especially if they don t know how to handle these students. Teachers within the program
should be specialized in dealing with the gifted, allowing for a better understanding and connection
between the student and teacher. And as all gifted students are different, the teachers need to be
slightly flexible, but still continue along the accelerated path. The program needs to placed
everywhere, and allow equal chance for everyone to get in. Many argue against these types of
programs, as they make clear the separation between the elite and average (Winner). While others
offer grade skipping, but never take into account the social development of the

Ethnography or field research is a sociological method that explores how people live and make sense
of their lives with one another in particular places. The focus might be on understanding the human
race and the meaning they produce through everyday interactions, or places, and the organizational
logics that guide our activities (columbia.edu, 2017). A discourse community comprises of a group of
people, especially within a sphere of intellectual or social activity, who share common goals, who

business and entrepreneurship. They should be introduced in every campus that hosts business studies.
Business students read about ventures, organizations and management in textbooks, but it s a
completely different experience while making decisions about an actual business. The thrill of making
decisions, feeling the consequences of every decision made is something that cannot be taught. It must
be experienced. This method of learning would revolutionize how business and management is taught
in universities, creating social change and bettering society (Mars, Matthew M. and Gary Rhoades,

Romeo And Juliet Changes
A New View The story of Romeo and Juliet has characters that make the outcome of the play, these
characters are the people that could have changed some of the events that took place in this tragic
story. Two characters who could have done a lot to change the ending were Romeo and Juliet
themselves, as well as Friar Lawrence. Most of the characters did have some impact on how the play
concluded. But these characters made the biggest difference. During the play there are a lot of
moments when the relationship between Juliet and Friar Lawrence are shown. This is also shown with
Romeo as well. From the book to the movie different personalities and relationships between
characters are shown making it possible to see the story in different ways. Juliet comes into this book

The Effects Of Yoga On The Mind Body Spirit About A Person...
The review of literature on the benefits of yoga show the importance that exists between the mind,
body, and spirit. This review conducted shows the significance of link between the mind body spirit
about a person s overall health.
Diversity in yoga including type, intensity, and duration are what play significant roles in the levels of
perceived health benefits in comparison to traditional exercise. Thus, far stress reduction seems to be
the most proposed benefit associated with yoga therapy, even though time constraints are the most
common barrier. Due to the foreseen benefits of participating in yoga practice, this should generate an
increase on the need of yoga to improve overall health status.
As we continue to understand the important and vital role that yoga practice has will hopefully
continue to emerge in Western culture. As indicated from research, yoga plays a significant role in the
reduction of stress management and reduction of risk factors in chronic disease. In comparison to
traditional forms of medicine, yoga can be an integral part as a holistic alternative.
Yoga has been shown to affect not only mind, body and soul but overall general wellness. Yoga can
affect a multitude of reactions in the body and reap positive benefits on the muscles, organ systems,
glands and quality of life.
Although this literature review shows the potential benefits of including yoga as a part of general
fitness, there still lacks enough research to warrant its impact. For us

Day low Prices in China. By the time 2005 rolled in China has become the most prominent country to
set up a branch for stores. China had a huge open market and it was time for the company to take
advantage of the opportunity that was happening in China. Wal Mart has become the world s largest
retail chain. This can only mean one thing and that is expansion. The strategic move to expand the
company chain stores to China was based off of the following factors. First factor was China size as
far as land, population. They also had a booming middle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the article experts says that Wal Mart customers saved at least 15% on a typical cart of
groceries (Farhoomand, A. F., Wang, I., September, 2008). The major issue for Wal Mart was how to
salvage the investment they made in China. They had these entire great strategic plan that worked in
other countries that seemed to have done great. By 1996 the company decided to move a branch into
China they started with a supercenter and a Sam s club. The business did not take off the way they
hoped and planned. The company started to lose money since it opened stores in China. The company
thought that the problem was that they had only one store in such a huge market. The fact of the
matter was that the Chinese government turned down the company request to expand further in
different parts of the country. The government was not convinced that Wal Mart would be successful
with all the new competition that was being implemented in other areas. Conclusion Wal Mart learned
that businesses in other countries may impact the benefit of an investment and is also learning that it s
going to be trail and error. They can only hope that they can endure their place there so that they can
have the potential to grow as a brand. I recommend that the company continue to research and
discover what is in those local stores that are driving their consumers to keep coming back for more.

Taking a Look at Neuroblastoma
Neuroblastoma most often begins in early childhood. It usually affects children under the age of five.
It is found when the tumour begins to grow and cause symptoms. Sometimes the tumour forms before
birth during the growth of the fetus whilst in the womb. This tumour is found during a fetal
ultrasound. Neuroblastoma often begins in the abdomen affecting the nerve tissues of the adrenal
gland. There are two adrenal glands, positioned one on top of each kidney in the back of the upper
abdomen.
The adrenal glands produce and secret important hormones that help control heart rate, blood pressure,
blood sugar, and the way the body reacts to stress or danger. (National Cancer Institute, 2014)
They also control the function of other tissues, organs and glands in your body to maintain
homeostasis during stress. Although the adrenal gland is the most common area of the body
neuroblastoma begins at, the tumour may also grow and spread to other part of the body, such as the
bones, liver, and skin. The tumour is spread through the blood and lymphatic system.
The adrenal gland has two part of the organ which consist of the outer cortex and the inner medulla.
The cortex is the main part of the adrenal gland and the medulla is about ten percent of the adrenal
gland.
The cortex is divided into three zones which consists of the zona glomerulosa, the zona fasciculata and
the zona reticularis.
The cells of the glomerulosa are structured into small rounded groups of curved column. The cells

Examples Of Social Expectations In Great Expectations
The plot revolves around Pip s change in social class and his happiness with it. From the beginning,
Pip is exposed to different social classes and how they are different from each other, how society sees
them, etc. He is, at a young age, removed from his home, and given the means to be in a higher social
class. I am instructed to communicate to him, said Mr Jaggers[...], that he will come into a handsome
property [...] immediately removed from his present sphere [...] and from this place, and be brought up
as a gentleman (Dickens 245). In this quote, Pip meets Jaggers, who informs him that a mysterious
benefactor has given him the means to fulfill his dream of being a gentleman. In this section of the
story, Pip believes that being a gentleman is solely about social status and the amount of money one
has. His encounters with Estella have made him believe that he will only be loved and worthy of it if
he is wealthy. This, however, is not what Pip finds to be true later on in life, when he reflects on his

The Industrial Revolution brought many changes, and also made it possible for people to make money
and rise social status, instead of just being born into it. Because of this, Pip s expectations of being a

Britons had at that time particularly settled that it was treasonable to doubt our having and our being
the best of everything: otherwise, while I was scared by the immensity of London, I think I might have
had some faint doubts whether it was not rather ugly, crooked, narrow, and dirty. (Dickens 286). When
Pip arrives in London, he is greatly disappointed. He believed London to be a beautiful city, but
instead found quite a miserable place. Pip began to realise that things were not like he thought they

CPU
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a computer component that converts data input into information
output. It is a complicated and broad set of electronic circuits that performs compiled instructions. All
computers and laptops must have a central processing unit to operate as it acts as the brain of the
device. There are numerous ways of referring to a CPU, such as processor, microprocessor or central
processor. Compared to some older models, the more recent models are small, square and have
connectors underneath it. The CPU is attached to the slot or socket of the motherboard. It is usually
secured and held down by a small lever.

Within a program exists millions of instructions, which are each stored at a specific address. These
instruction addresses are recorded by the program counter. The program counter is a system within the

instructions go through the data bus to reach the instruction register.
Decode The CPU has an assembler that is able to translate Assembly Language into binary code. From
this, instructions can be read and executed. Assembly Language is a language that only the CPU can

The High Cost Of Samsung s Competition In The Electronics...
After a little over a decade since its establishment, Samsung, who was once a small business focusing
on exporting perishables is now one of the biggest manufacturing company in the world that revenue
of over $167 Billion. From an economic perspective, as technology changes becoming more efficient,
it gives other companies the ability to compete in manufacturing the products. As the electronics
industry continues to grow, more companies are competing with Apple. As of today, Samsung is one
of the largest competitors to Apple. Both companies are trying to win the technology market,
especially smartphones since they launched their own line of smartphones Samsung Galaxy in June
2009 and the iPhone in June 2007.
One of the reasons Samsung s still in this game of tug of war with Apple is Samsung s capability in
manufacturing their own components for the Galaxy smartphones. This gives them a rather strong
grasp on cost advantage compared to Apple. Even Apple uses a Samsung manufactured processors,
NAND flash and DRAM memory chips since the beginning (Forbes, 2016), which is why we see a
rather higher selling price for Apple s iPhone due to their cost to their supplier, Samsung. One way for
Apple to win over this is to attract Samsung loyal customers, who are said to be more price conscious,
by creating an inexpensive iPhone in a long run like the iPhone 5c that was discontinued at the end of
2015.
However, even if Samsung had this cost advantage over Apple, Apple is still

Strategies for Resolving Team Conflict
Running head: STRATEGIES FOR RESOLVING TEAM CONFLICT
Strategies for Resolving Team Conflict
Strategies for Resolving Team Conflict
Dealing with conflict is always a challenging situation, which requires team members to be integrated
into a single, organized unit (Bolger, 2003). Conflict among teams is bound to occur no matter how
much one tries to avoid it. While resolving all conflicts is not possible, these conflicts can be dealt
with using the correct methodology. To address team conflict there are five methods: Accommodate,
Compromise, Enforce, Explore, and Postpone (Bolger, 2003).
Accommodation Bases for using the accommodation strategy occurs when working together to
accomplish goals are far more important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Choosing this strategy may be best in a situation where heightened emotions, around a given issue, are
making it impossible to have a rational conversation. Another option is to postpone a discussion when
all the information required is unknown or if the issue may resolve itself over time. The downside to
using this strategy too often occurs when the team interprets these actions as either running away or
avoiding conflict. It should also be recognized that delaying an important conflict to long will, in
many cases, evolve into a much larger issue or important decisions may be made by default (Fisher,
1991).
Conclusion When choosing a strategy to resolve team conflict, it is essential to consider the
importance and urgency of the issue involved. Guard against the tendency of using only one or two
resolution strategies, because such a habit will cause undesirable results (Bolger, 2003). By
understanding that each strategy does have a unique purpose; it is then up to team leadership to
understand the proper application of said strategy and use them to gain optimal performance from
their teams.

What Can Social Psychology Teach Us About What Happened At...
What can social psychology teach us about what happened at Abu Ghraib? By Mandy Stead During
the Iraq war that between 2003 and 2006, the united states army committed a series of human rights
violations against prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison near Bagdad. The violations included murder, sexual
and physical abuse, rape, torturer, sodomy, humiliating and dehumanizing prisoners. In 2004 the abuse
that was carried out was exposed by the publication of images that were taken by the soldiers that
carried out the violations. This paper will be looking at what social psychology can teach us about
what happened at Abu Ghraib. The abuse took place in tier 1A on the night shift. The soldiers involved
were all reserve soldiers who were not prepared or trained for this mission. They were asked to

Aztec And Norse And Greek Mythology Similarities
When looking at the myths between various ancient cultures, distinct similarities appear between
motifs and symbols of their stories. It is often speculated why these characteristics remain consistent
despite differences in time, location, culture and beliefs. Looking at the similarities between Greek,
Aztec, and Norse mythology can perhaps shed some light on this mystery. All three myths feature an
apocalyptic event that starts a new life cycle, an element of sacrifice to retain order, and the death and
rebirth of a god. The theory of James Frazer best explains why these similarities exist, possibly
bringing a new perspective into the study of ancient mythology. To help understand the significance of
these similarities, James Frazer s theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the death of the agriculture god Balder signifies the beginning of Ragnarok in the Norse
story. After the series of destructive events, he returns to Earth from the underworld as it begins its
new cycle. This makes it clear that his rebirth is somewhat representative of agriculture dying in
winter and growing again in the spring, the season itself symbolic of revival. Likewise, in the Greek
myth, Persephone s rebirth happens when she leaves to the Underworld during the winter and returns
to the gods above during the spring. This is much like the vegetation cycle mentioned previously,
especially with her strong agricultural association. Finally, in the Aztec myth, Quetzacoatl, the creator
of humans, dies by burning himself out of remorse, his heart becoming the morning sun. His death
preserves the life cycle since his rebirth as the sun becomes as a central part of growing and dying. In
general, each rebirth of a god is symbolic of a similar rebirth in nature, their deaths becoming other
forms of life. Through these examples, it is quite evident how the natural cycle of life is reflected in

Abstract
Snapchat now is the third most popular social media app competing with Instagram and Facebook.
Moreover, it is defined as an ephemeral instant messaging application that allows users to take

Introduction In the digital world, snapchat application becomes a growing phenomenon. It attracts
hundreds of users. Snapchat application allows its users to take pictures and videos that have an
ephemeral nature of messages, these snaps could be viewed up to 10 seconds and then disappeared. In
this paper, I argue that with this self destructing nature of messaging, the app has the chance to mimic
the reality interaction of face to face communication. Although,

The Innocent By Richard Wright And Maria
This ethical analysis will define the hierarchical societal pressures and psychological torment that
validates acts of crime committed by Bigger Thomas in Native Son by Richard Wright and Maria in
Ian McEwan s novel The Innocent. In Wright s novel, the main protagonist, Bigger Thomas, is a
twenty year old that is prone to crime because of being marginalized in a racist white society that will
not allow him to advance himself. After accidently killing Mary Dalton, Bigger s fear of being caught
is part of psychological torment that partially vindicates him from the crime. This is also true of Maria
s murder of Otto to protect Leonard from getting killed during a fistfight, since Otto had
psychologically and physically abused her. Maria s case is more compelling than Bigger s, but they
both share the underlying hierarchical abuse of society and the psychological torment that vindicates
the traumatic outburst that lead to murder. These criminal acts define certain circumstances in which
crimes of passions are vindicated in relation to the abuse and mental torment of the perpetrator of the
crime. In essence, an ethical analysis of Bigger Thomas and Maria will definer the vindication of
certain crimes due to hierarchical oppression and psychological torment in crimes of passion. Fletcher
s literary allusion to Shakespeare s Henry VI defines the underlying social circumstances that define
the validity and invalidity of crimes of passion that occur within certain legal

Nation s aid to Ireland during the famine in 1847. The tribe sent over 170 dollars in an aid to help
victims of the famine. However this charitable gesture renders significant mention due to the fact that
1831 the Choctaw Indians were forcibly removed from their ancestral lands in Mississippi to what is

Halloween vs. Christmas
Holidays in the United States differ from others around the world. Two unique holidays celebrated in
the states are Halloween and Christmas. The two holidays differ in tradition and decoration, but occur
roughly during the same time of year.
Halloween originated from a festival of the northern European culture. This holiday and the ideas that
tie along with the concept of Halloween were brought to the United States from the Celts. The Celts
believed that on October 31 ghosts would return from the dead and back to earth. In the European
culture Halloween is a time where spirits care able to come into contact with the real world. This day
was called Samhian. Traditions such as costumes and trick or treating. The idea of costumes dated
back hundreds of years ago. They were meant to be used as a disguise to avoid being recognized by
ghosts. According to the staff of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than the spooky vibe given from the Hallloween traditions, Christmas tridions are give off
more of a cheery, happy, uplifting vibe. Christmas is typically a Christian holiday that revolves around
the birth of Jesus Christ. Today, however, we celebrate this event not only to honor his birth, but also
to gather those close to one another and exchange gifts. In the States, there is a legend about a man,
Santa Clause. Santa Clause was brought to the U.S. from a monk from modern day Turkey in 280 AD.
The legend has evolved since then. The story of santa Clause goes like this. All year long children
who behaved naughty or nice received their own list. Those who behaved naughty would receive
nothing but a lump of coal, and those who were nice received a gift from Santa Clause. The night
before Christmas, children would leave out a batch of cookies and a glass of milk for him on his long

Ethical Values And Moral Values
Ethics in a sense is everything we hold dear to us, meaning our moral values. The development of
figuring out what is important to us requires intellectual and critical evaluation. By not developing
ones own moral values, you are simply taking the route of taking the moral beliefs given to you by
your family or society. You re accepting them because its easier than questioning them. However, this
has its setbacks, by choosing not to do ethics you are essentially undermining your own personal
freedom of choice. By accepting beliefs of your culture without question, then those viewpoints are
not truly yours. Another setback to not asking questions is that your reasons or responses will be
lacking understanding. Moral principles are might be absolute or might not, even so we apply them to
situations may be different and require you to evaluate the situation at hand, which is hard to do if you
ve never taken the time to do so before. The third importance is that without taking the time to
question and make your own moral code, you then in turn lose intellectual growth. You do not gain
new understandings of the ever changing world around you; you become stuck in a stagnant world,
which is not reality. I think this class will help me look at moral judgments in a more logical and
ethical way. I have already realized from this class that I have based my ethical decisions on my
emotion and the way I feel which is only one form of ethics. This class will go over various theories to

Liver Synthesis
Without the liver, the human body would not be able to regulate chemical levels in the blood. The
liver is composed of eight segments that form two main lobes. Our body relies on the production of
bile to help break down fats, and the liver to process the blood to create nutrients useful for the body.
Regulating blood clotting, processing use of hemoglobin, glucose release and storage, and the
production of proteins are only a few of the many functions for the liver.
Storage is an important function of the liver and is needed to provide a constant supply of vitamins
and minerals to the body. The liver as an organ of the immune system, the aids the body and fights off
foreign bodies by Kupffer cells. Kupffer cells line the sinusoids and capture/digest cellular debris,
bacteria, fungi, and old blood cells. Aiding in the production of essential protein ... Show more content

As blood passes through the hepatic portal vein, hepatocytes monitor the blood and make sure all
impurities are cleaned before the blood exits the liver. By neutralizing the toxins to form activated
intermediates, the enzyme system can then break down the toxin chemicals lowering the toxicity by
hydrolysis, reduction, and oxidation. The product of these reactions is antioxidants, which can use
damage if too many are produced. As this is occurring, conjugation pathway is taking place, which
adds another substance like cysteince or glycine to make the toxin less harmful, water soluble, and
able to be excreted in waste.
In conclusion, from detoxifying to body to metabolism and storage of important nutrients to the
production of bile the liver preforms a lot of important functions. When damaged by substances such
as alcohol, the liver is not able to properly perform its functions and can lead to a variety of diseases
or permanent damage. Awareness of these functions and what can cause damage to it is a good way to
keep your liver healthy and

Rock And Roll Impact On American Culture
Rock Roll
Rock Roll is a form of popular music that emerged in the United States in the late 40s and early 50s
from a fusion of blues, country and gospel, boogie woogie, swing and folk music. All of these
influences combined into a simple song structure, with 12 bar blues being one of the most significant
characteristics, that was often repetitive, fast, danceable and catchy. In fact, blues had the biggest
impact that gave birth to Rock Roll. Typical instruments of Rock Roll include electric guitar, piano,
bass, drums, horns and vocals. It is an important genre of music because it has the power to not only
influence but persist through generations of people and has had a huge impact on American society by
consistently setting the trend for pop music. Just like its influence on other forms of music, Rock Roll
had also influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes, television, language and dance. ... Show more content

Hollow Men Essay
White agent s purpose of journey is to enlighten the dark place. The agents thus represent western
civilization whose ideal purpose is an altruistic humanitarianism. However, Marlow points out that
those agents were actually the hollow men. Hollow men are people who are inhumane and soulless,
who are empty of humanity and reason. The fact that majority of agents are hollow inside and blind
pilgrims to material desire is explaining the contradiction of colonialism between its reality and
causes. In outer station, Marlow meets the chief accountant, whom Marlow though as a hair dresser s
dummy. This character is wearing perfect attire and maintaining book keeping in the middle of
surrounding chaos. He does not sympathize with the dying agent, but he rather gets irritated by him.

uneasiness. Marlow thinks that there is nothing within him and only way to survive in this land is not
to have any entrails like a stuffed man. General manager s incompetence shows how the western
civilization is inefficient and futile in Africa. Brickmaker, a man who follows the general manger, is
also depicted as a hollow man. Even though his mission is to make bricks, Marlow can never find
bricks at the station nor even in his house. Brickmaker is only interested in promotion while doing
nothing. Marlow calls him as papier mache Mephistopheles , which means a paper made devil. He is

Examples Of Discrimination In Harry Potter
The Not so Wonderful Wizarding World
In the fictional world of Harry Potter Giants are vicious creatures that have killing in their nature,
house elves are born into slavery and compelled to serve a wizarding family until they die, and
mudbloods (wizards born by non magical parents) are untalented low class wizards, which are
unworthy of representing the wizarding community. Now although all these statements might ring true
in the ears of many wizards these statements are questioned and all proven unjust throughout the
Harry Potter series. Throughout the Harry Potter novels J.K. Rowling presents discrimination as an
ideology throughout the novels to show how discrimination is evident in the real world.
The definition of discrimination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when comparing two pureblood children such as Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom
their characteristics could not be more opposite. Although a pureblood, Neville is usually described as
being an accident prone, slow learning wizard that is at the bottom of his class. In his failure to live up
to the pureblood expectation, Neville often becomes a target for bullying, and his family even worries
for a while that he could be a squib. Just like purebloods Muggle born wizards are equally stigmatized
and are often called the derogatory term of Mudblood because they are said to have dirty blood.
Unlike the stereotypes of being a pureblood Muggle borns are stereotyped as being less talented than
purebloods. However despite being Muggle born, Hermione proves to be more skilled in her magical
capabilities than most pureblood characters. In the Prisoner of Azkaban Lupin even says to Hermione,
You re the cleverest witch of your age I ve ever met (Azkaban 346).
Along with Rowling showing discrimination in the wizarding world between wizards she also shows
discrimination towards magical creatures. Racism is majorly institutionalized by the ministry of magic
through The Department for the Regulation and control of Magical Creatures (Order 130). One way
the Ministry of Magic shows racism is when Sirius explains how Dolores Umbridge, the Head of
Magical Law Enforcement passed an anti werewolf legislation that made it almost impossible for
Remus Lupin as well as other

Let Medicine Be Thy Food And Let Food Be Thy Medicine
The Greek physician and father of medicine Hippocrates once said Let medicine be thy food and let
food be thy medicine. This simple statement encompasses my view of many global health problems
that I believe could be resolved utilizing urban agricultural techniques and provide access to a healthy
food source. Medicine has long been aware that an apple a day will keep the doctor away. Wouldn t it
be nice if it could be said that an eggplant a day will keep cancer away? If individuals change the
source that their food is derived from to urban farms it may be possible to keep many ailments away.
Urban agricultural programs also referred to as urban farms or ZFarms, have the potential to have a
positive impact on communities worldwide by affecting eating habits, social interaction and economic
patterns.

Priority: The Global Problem of Hunger in Developing Countries
Statement: Of the 7 billion people in the world approximately one in nine individuals are without food
(World Hunger, 2016). The scarcity of nutrition is associated with exhaustion, absence from school
and disease, however, researchers are finding potential in the use of urban gardening as a significant
link in urban food security (Brown Jameton, 2000).
Priority: Lower rates of Diabetes Mellitus worldwide
Statement: The global health burden is increasing at an alarming rate with the number of those

amount of energy that an individual expends decreasing the amount of time spent in a sedentary state
and decreasing risks associated with diabetes (Bellow, et al, 2003). Additionally, the quality of food
produced in the urban garden helps to low diabetes instances due to a healthier diet.

illness by increasing exposure to plants and outdoor activities which trigger both illness prevention
and healing responses (Bellow, et al, 2003).

Economic Reforms In Cuba
Cuba has begun to open itself to economic integration, and most importantly to the United States.
However, their economy has been suffering due to two major economic shocks, which has resulted in
the Cuban regime setting up economic and regulatory reforms. These reforms have spurred a
transition as the Cuban people have been given more opportunities than ever before to establish
ownership over small businesses in approximately 200 categories. However, the prospective
entrepreneurs in Cuba are held back by several challenges such as a complicated and often
contradictory regulatory environment that prevent smaller, private businesses from flourishing due to
a lack of experienced entrepreneurs, mentors, and an ecosystem that supports development. ... Show

This is especially the case as United States President Donald J. Trump recently stated that he would
repeal reforms previously done under the Obama administration if Cuba were not to make more
concessions (Council on Foreign Relations). Moreover, the Republican dominated Congress is
unlikely to pass a lift on the U.S. embargo of Cuban products that has been a major point of contention
and business loss to Cubans for years (Council on Foreign Relations). It is evident that there are many
forces trying to postpone or even reverse the trend of economic integration of Cuba in addition to the
Cuban regime. Providing aid, establishing programs and setting up policies to help small business
owners in Cuba would also benefit the United States, as it would promote trade with a country of great
geopolitical importance as it situated in between the continental United States and Latin America. In
addition, the scope of the problem is vast as entrepreneurs are finding arduous businesses
environments in its capital of Havana and even less throughout the entirety of Cuba, which is

Analysis of The Inquisitor s Argument in The Brothers Karamazov
Dostoevsky makes a strong case against Jesus in The Grand Inquisitor : Jesus did not love humanity
sufficiently to care for the greater good of the race.
The majority of people, according to the Grand Inquisitor, are weak and like sheep. Jesus prized
freedom of faith above all else, and because he cared more for that freedom than for the happiness of
people, the Grand Inquisitor and the Catholic Church, as led by he Inquisitor, reject Jesus. Only the
strong, like the Inquisitor, who can go the forty days and nights in the desert, are capable of attaining
the reward of Heaven, while the weak millions, who are weak but still love Thee... must exist ... Show

Earthly bread is the antithesis of freedom. Thoreau understood that as long as a person is dependant on
anyone else for anything, he is not truly free.
The second temptation the Devil poses is for Jesus to cast Himself down on the ground from a high
cliff to prove that He is the son of God. Jesus refuses, reminding Satan that the Scriptures say do not
tempt the Lord your God. The Inquisitor claims that even if man were to have earthly bread in
abundance, without a stable conception of the object of life, man would not continue to live, and any
who would lead men must captivate their consciences. Only three powers can do this, says the
Inquisitor: miracle, mystery, and authority. In the first temptation, Jesus rejected the first power, and
now is rejecting the second. The Inquisitor says, And I ask Thee again... couldst Thou believe for a
moment that men, too, could face such a temptation? Once again, Jesus is refusing to captivate the
souls of men by force.
The third and final temptation that the wise and dread spirit poses Christ is to offer Him all the
kingdoms of the world if Jesus will only bow down and worship him. Begone, Satan, replies

The Importance Of The Miranda Warnings
Miranda warnings are not required due to the factor that John wasn t being asked any questions at the
time that he was making self incriminating statements. John was in custody, the legal concept of
custody exists when a suspect perceives that he is not free to leave an immediate area (Reid, 2010).
John wasn t advised of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives individuals the right
to refuse to answer any questions or make any statements (Fifth Amendement Right Against Self
Incrimination, 2009). This was completely legal due to the factor that John wasn t being interviewed
at the time of arrest. It is popular belief that the Miranda warnings as seen on television have to be
read directly after arrest; however, the Miranda warnings are required if a person is in custody
(deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way), the police must give a Miranda warning prior
to questioning the suspect and use the suspect (Police Questioning: When Mirnada Warnings Are
Required, 2010). The simple equation for Miranda warning is custody + interrogation = the
requirement for Miranda warnings (Petrocelli, 2010). According to Petrocelli (2010), voluntary
statements are not subject to Miranda warnings, so an officer need not stop a suspect from making
incriminating voluntary statements. If the police officers were asking him questions during the time of
arrest the whole scenario would have changed and the Miranda warnings would be required due to the
factor that

Parenting Styles In Grace Based Parenting
My family situation is very positive. My parents have been married for years. They were not able to
have kids till they were years old. In 1997 they had me and four years later in 2001 they had my
younger brother. Both of my parents parenting styles are different. They both, however have a
combination of parenting styles described in Grace Based Parenting. Grace Based Parenting addresses
seven parenting methods. The seven methods are fear based, evangelical behavior modification, image
control, high control, herd mentality, duct tape, and life support or 911 parenting. I think at one time or
another, either both or one of my parents have exercised the methods fear based, high control, and
grace based parenting. My parents have not always had a fear based approach to parenting. I believe
when my brother and I were young they took on this method mainly to protect us. Because my mother
has experience in the medical field and more specifically worked at Scottish Rite, she has seen some
terrible things that have happened to children. Thus, she did not allow us to go over and hang out with
just anyone. Our door, however, was always open to any neighborhood kids and I remember many
times that we had almost every child in the neighborhood in our living room. They did not discourage
us from hanging out with nonreligious children in the neighborhood. In fact, they encouraged us to set
a good example for those kids. They, also, encouraged us to invite them to church and most times we
had at least one child going with us to church. When it came to television and the Internet, I did not
have television till I was in 3rd grade and could use the Internet, but it was monitored. My parents
implemented high control parenting in that they had a lot of control on if I did or did not do
something. They did not push me out of my comfort zone in safe ways. They controlled so much
because they wanted me to be safe and never make any big mistakes that I never really got involved in
anything that was outside of a church activity or a sports team which one of my parents were always
there to supervise. I eventually felt that there was no need to try new things because they were always
there to judge or wanting me to

Egyptian Cuisine During The Arab Republic Of Egypt
The unique Egyptian cuisine has been influenced throughout history, particularly by its neighbors
from the Middle East. Those contries that have influenced include Persians (modern day Iraqis),
Greeks, Romans (modern day Italians), Arabs, and Ottomans (from modern day Turkey) first
influenced Egyptian cuisine thousands of years ago. More recently, the foods of other Arabic people in
the Middle East such as the Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, as well as some foods from Europe, have
affected the Egyptian diet.
Rice and bread remain staple foods, and molokhiyya(a spinach like vegetable) and ful mudammas
(cooked, creamy fava beans), a national dish.
The Arab Republic of Egypt is located in the northeastern region of the African continent, bordering
both the Mediterranean and Red Seas. The climate is extremely dry and most of the country receives
less than one inch of rainfall each year. The widespread lack of rainfall makes it extremely difficult to
grow crops. Egypt has no forests and only 2 percent of the land is arable.
The Nile River, the longest river in the world, runs north and south through eastern Egypt and empties
into the Mediterranean Sea. Approximately 95 percent of the country s population lives alongside the
Nile River. This is why the Egyptian cuisine is so high in fish.
Egypt had one of the longest histories of any modern country, arising in the tenth millennium BC as
one of the world s first nation states. Ancient Egypt had some of the earliest

Theu.s. Supreme Court Justice And Lived From Post World...
We can either have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands
of a few, but we can t have both. This is a compelling quote spoken by Louis Brandeis, who was U.S.
Supreme Court Justice and lived from 1856 to 1941. His words illustrate the ever growing issue of
inequality that has existed in this country for many years. Being aware of and understanding the
changing rates of income inequality in the U.S throughout history is crucial in order to progress by
making positive changes in today s society. Historically, there have been many instances where the
incomes of individuals have fluctuated and caused great changes to the nation, especially post World
War II period until the present day. The income share of the wealthiest 1% of Americans was the same
in 2006 as it was in 1917 (Jansson, 2012, p.45). The years from the end of World War II into the 1970s
were ones of substantial economic growth. In summary, the period from post World War II until about
the late 1960 s, income inequality was not as great as it is today and was more steady, but it still
existed and greatly influenced the income inequality in present day America. Beginning in the 1970s,
income growth for households in the middle and lower classes decreased, while incomes at the top
continued to increase (Stone et al., 2015). Overall, since 1947, the Gini coefficient, which is what the
U.S Census Bureau uses to measure income distribution inequality, rose from 5% to

Walt Disney Biography Essay
Throughout history, there have been many notable American figures that had enormous impacts on
almost everyone s daily lives. Although, one figure stands out among many, and that man worked his
hardest to make his dreams come true, Walt Disney. Disney made a reputation of brilliance and [t]he
combination of Disney s desire to try new techniques and his striving to make a better product set him
apart from most other animators (Nardo 25). How could anyone forget classics like Mickey Mouse,
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fox and the Hound, the Little Mermaid, and many more all
created by Disney? He created a cast of memorable animated and live action characters that have been
forever associated with the Disney name (Nardo 10). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Disney was 16, his brother Roy decided to fight in World War I. He was too young to also join,
but he still wanted to be close to his brother. So when he heard that ambulance drivers for the Red
Cross needed to be only seventeen, he changed his birth date on his birth certificate and managed to
enlist (Nardo 18). He spent most of his time in France, where he would draw all over his ambulance
and draw fake medals on his friends jackets. In 1919, with the war over, he returned back to the
United States, as he now knew what his true passion in life was, art.
Disney searched for a job with the love of art on his mind. He landed a job as an apprentice illustrator
for an agency and while there he met Ub Iwerks. Disney quickly mastered simple techniques and was
soon bored with the basics. With the goal of making his own cartoon shorts and attempting to get local
theaters to show them, he borrowed a camera, and he and Iwerks began doing their own animation at
night (Nardo 20). Disney and Iwerks put in long hours on their cartoons and precision. Most young
aspiring animators usually tried to play it safe with uncomplicated, familiar material, but ambitious
Disney wanted to attempt something more challenging (Nardo 20).
On his own, Disney set up and opened his own studio. His business began to grow and along with it so
did

Legalism, Taoism, and Confucianism in Ancient China Legalism, Taoism, and Confucianism in Ancient China Philosophies dictate the most basic beliefs, concepts, and attitudes of individuals or groups, even entire civilizations. Since the beginning of time there has been great debate among men over which philosophies to live life by. The list of philosophies that exist in the world today is nearly endless, making it difficult to decide which one is the most suitable to live by. Ancient China was arguably among one of the most philosophical cultures that has ever existed to date. They had multiple schools of thought including Chinese Naturalism, Mohism, Logicians, Confucianism, Taoism (Daoism), and Legalism. Many of these philosophies fell into obscurity but three of them had a very large impact on ancient China and still have influence around the globe today. Legalism, Taoism, and Confucianism each had its own ways of seeing the nature of human beings, society, and the universe. Although they were all different they all shared a similar purpose, to make society a better place. Because they are so different, however, different people are going to prefer different philosophies. Confucianism and Taoism have and will continue to be the topic of debate for time to come and although Legalism has not been practiced for some time now, it still played a significant role in ancient Chinese history. The majority of gifted children are placed into the general education, leading to boredom. As they understand concepts faster, especially abstract, boredom sets in as the children continuously have to wait for their peers to catch up. Programs need to be made for them, as they are the future. They will aid in the development and continuation of America, far more than the average child. Several methods can be applied to a gifted program to keep the children engaged and their minds simulated. Acceleration and Enrichment are two options, with the accelerated program having the greatest positive feedback. Acceleration allows for the child to learn at a rapid pace, depending on them not their peers, while enrichment is the addition of supplement information or reading (Subotnik). Many programs in place presently have an accelerated program, but many are still too slow or parents have no knowledge of it. The programs also puts less stress on the general education teachers, especially if they don t know how to handle these students. Teachers within the program should be specialized in dealing with the gifted, allowing for a better understanding and connection between the student and teacher. And as all gifted students are different, the teachers need to be slightly flexible, but still continue along the accelerated path. By 1996 the company decided to move a branch into China they started with a supercenter and a Sam s club. The business did not take off the way they hoped and planned. The company started to lose money since it opened stores in China. The company thought that the problem was that they had only one store in such a huge market. The fact of the matter was that the Chinese government turned down the company request to expand further in different parts of the country. The government was not convinced that Wal Mart would be successful with all the new competition that was being implemented in other areas. Conclusion Wal Mart learned that businesses in other countries may impact the benefit of an investment and is also learning that it s going to be trail and error. Conflict among teams is bound to occur no matter how much one tries to avoid it. While resolving all conflicts is not possible, these conflicts can be dealt with using the correct methodology. To address team conflict there are five methods: Accommodate, Compromise, Enforce, Explore, and Postpone (Bolger, 2003). Accommodation Bases for using the accommodation strategy occurs when working together to accomplish goals are far more important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Choosing this strategy may be best in a situation where heightened emotions, around a given issue, are making it impossible to have a rational conversation. Another option is to postpone a discussion when all the information required is unknown or if the issue may resolve itself over time. The downside to using this strategy too often occurs when the team interprets these actions as either running away or avoiding conflict. It should also be recognized that delaying an important conflict to long will, in many cases, evolve into a much larger issue or important decisions may be made by default (Fisher, 1991). Conclusion When choosing a strategy to resolve team conflict, it is essential to consider the importance and urgency of the issue involved. Guard against the tendency of using only one or two resolution strategies, because such a habit will cause undesirable results (Bolger, 2003). • 25. The Innocent By Richard Wright And Maria This ethical analysis will define the hierarchical societal pressures and psychological torment that validates acts of crime committed by Bigger Thomas in Native Son by Richard Wright and Maria in Ian McEwan s novel The Innocent. In Wright s novel, the main protagonist, Bigger Thomas, is a twenty year old that is prone to crime because of being marginalized in a racist white society that will not allow him to advance himself. After accidently killing Mary Dalton, Bigger s fear of being caught is part of psychological torment that partially vindicates him from the crime. This is also true of Maria s murder of Otto to protect Leonard from getting killed during a fistfight, since Otto had psychologically and physically abused her. Maria s case is more compelling than Bigger s, but they both share the underlying hierarchical abuse of society and the psychological torment that vindicates the traumatic outburst that lead to murder. These criminal acts define certain circumstances in which crimes of passions are vindicated in relation to the abuse and mental torment of the perpetrator of the crime. In essence, an ethical analysis of Bigger Thomas and Maria will definer the vindication of certain crimes due to hierarchical oppression and psychological torment in crimes of passion. Fletcher s literary allusion to Shakespeare s Henry VI defines the underlying social circumstances that define the validity and invalidity of crimes of passion that occur within certain legal ... • 30. Ethical Values And Moral Values Ethics in a sense is everything we hold dear to us, meaning our moral values. The development of figuring out what is important to us requires intellectual and critical evaluation. By not developing ones own moral values, you are simply taking the route of taking the moral beliefs given to you by your family or society. You re accepting them because its easier than questioning them. However, this has its setbacks, by choosing not to do ethics you are essentially undermining your own personal freedom of choice. By accepting beliefs of your culture without question, then those viewpoints are not truly yours. Another setback to not asking questions is that your reasons or responses will be lacking understanding. Moral principles are might be absolute or might not, even so we apply them to situations may be different and require you to evaluate the situation at hand, which is hard to do if you ve never taken the time to do so before. The third importance is that without taking the time to question and make your own moral code, you then in turn lose intellectual growth. You do not gain new understandings of the ever changing world around you; you become stuck in a stagnant world, which is not reality. I think this class will help me look at moral judgments in a more logical and ethical way. I have already realized from this class that I have based my ethical decisions on my emotion and the way I feel which is only one form of ethics. This class will go over various theories to ... • 46. Analysis of The Inquisitor s Argument in Dostoevsky s The... Analysis of The Inquisitor s Argument in The Brothers Karamazov Dostoevsky makes a strong case against Jesus in The Grand Inquisitor : Jesus did not love humanity sufficiently to care for the greater good of the race. The majority of people, according to the Grand Inquisitor, are weak and like sheep. Jesus prized freedom of faith above all else, and because he cared more for that freedom than for the happiness of people, the Grand Inquisitor and the Catholic Church, as led by he Inquisitor, reject Jesus. Only the strong, like the Inquisitor, who can go the forty days and nights in the desert, are capable of attaining the reward of Heaven, while the weak millions, who are weak but still love Thee... must exist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Earthly bread is the antithesis of freedom. Thoreau understood that as long as a person is dependant on anyone else for anything, he is not truly free. The second temptation the Devil poses is for Jesus to cast Himself down on the ground from a high cliff to prove that He is the son of God. Jesus refuses, reminding Satan that the Scriptures say do not tempt the Lord your God. The Inquisitor claims that even if man were to have earthly bread in abundance, without a stable conception of the object of life, man would not continue to live, and any who would lead men must captivate their consciences. Only three powers can do this, says the Inquisitor: miracle, mystery, and authority. In the first temptation, Jesus rejected the first power, and now is rejecting the second. The Inquisitor says, And I ask Thee again... couldst Thou believe for a moment that men, too, could face such a temptation? Once again, Jesus is refusing to captivate the souls of men by force. The third and final temptation that the wise and dread spirit poses Christ is to offer Him all the kingdoms of the world if Jesus will only bow down and worship him. Begone, Satan, replies ... • 47. The Importance Of The Miranda Warnings Miranda warnings are not required due to the factor that John wasn t being asked any questions at the time that he was making self incriminating statements. John was in custody, the legal concept of custody exists when a suspect perceives that he is not free to leave an immediate area (Reid, 2010). John wasn t advised of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives individuals the right to refuse to answer any questions or make any statements (Fifth Amendement Right Against Self Incrimination, 2009). This was completely legal due to the factor that John wasn t being interviewed at the time of arrest. It is popular belief that the Miranda warnings as seen on television have to be read directly after arrest; however, the Miranda warnings are required if a person is in custody (deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way), the police must give a Miranda warning prior to questioning the suspect and use the suspect (Police Questioning: When Mirnada Warnings Are Required, 2010). The simple equation for Miranda warning is custody + interrogation = the requirement for Miranda warnings (Petrocelli, 2010). According to Petrocelli (2010), voluntary statements are not subject to Miranda warnings, so an officer need not stop a suspect from making incriminating voluntary statements. If the police officers were asking him questions during the time of arrest the whole scenario would have changed and the Miranda warnings would be required due to the factor that ... • 48. Parenting Styles In Grace Based Parenting My family situation is very positive. My parents have been married for years. They were not able to have kids till they were years old. In 1997 they had me and four years later in 2001 they had my younger brother. Both of my parents parenting styles are different. They both, however have a combination of parenting styles described in Grace Based Parenting. Grace Based Parenting addresses seven parenting methods. The seven methods are fear based, evangelical behavior modification, image control, high control, herd mentality, duct tape, and life support or 911 parenting. I think at one time or another, either both or one of my parents have exercised the methods fear based, high control, and grace based parenting. My parents have not always had a fear based approach to parenting. I believe when my brother and I were young they took on this method mainly to protect us. Because my mother has experience in the medical field and more specifically worked at Scottish Rite, she has seen some terrible things that have happened to children. Thus, she did not allow us to go over and hang out with just anyone. Our door, however, was always open to any neighborhood kids and I remember many times that we had almost every child in the neighborhood in our living room. They did not discourage us from hanging out with nonreligious children in the neighborhood. In fact, they encouraged us to set a good example for those kids. They, also, encouraged us to invite them to church and most times we had at least one child going with us to church. When it came to television and the Internet, I did not have television till I was in 3rd grade and could use the Internet, but it was monitored. My parents implemented high control parenting in that they had a lot of control on if I did or did not do something. They did not push me out of my comfort zone in safe ways. They controlled so much because they wanted me to be safe and never make any big mistakes that I never really got involved in anything that was outside of a church activity or a sports team which one of my parents were always there to supervise. I eventually felt that there was no need to try new things because they were always there to judge or wanting me to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Egyptian Cuisine During The Arab Republic Of Egypt The unique Egyptian cuisine has been influenced throughout history, particularly by its neighbors from the Middle East. Those contries that have influenced include Persians (modern day Iraqis), Greeks, Romans (modern day Italians), Arabs, and Ottomans (from modern day Turkey) first influenced Egyptian cuisine thousands of years ago. More recently, the foods of other Arabic people in the Middle East such as the Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, as well as some foods from Europe, have affected the Egyptian diet. Rice and bread remain staple foods, and molokhiyya(a spinach like vegetable) and ful mudammas (cooked, creamy fava beans), a national dish. The Arab Republic of Egypt is located in the northeastern region of the African continent, bordering both the Mediterranean and Red Seas. The climate is extremely dry and most of the country receives less than one inch of rainfall each year. The widespread lack of rainfall makes it extremely difficult to grow crops. Egypt has no forests and only 2 percent of the land is arable. The Nile River, the longest river in the world, runs north and south through eastern Egypt and empties into the Mediterranean Sea. Approximately 95 percent of the country s population lives alongside the Nile River. This is why the Egyptian cuisine is so high in fish. Egypt had one of the longest histories of any modern country, arising in the tenth millennium BC as one of the world s first nation states. Ancient Egypt had some of the earliest ... • 50. Theu.s. Supreme Court Justice And Lived From Post World... We can either have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can t have both. This is a compelling quote spoken by Louis Brandeis, who was U.S. Supreme Court Justice and lived from 1856 to 1941. His words illustrate the ever growing issue of inequality that has existed in this country for many years. Being aware of and understanding the changing rates of income inequality in the U.S throughout history is crucial in order to progress by making positive changes in today s society. Historically, there have been many instances where the incomes of individuals have fluctuated and caused great changes to the nation, especially post World War II period until the present day. The income share of the wealthiest 1% of Americans was the same in 2006 as it was in 1917 (Jansson, 2012, p.45). The years from the end of World War II into the 1970s were ones of substantial economic growth. In summary, the period from post World War II until about the late 1960 s, income inequality was not as great as it is today and was more steady, but it still existed and greatly influenced the income inequality in present day America. Beginning in the 1970s, income growth for households in the middle and lower classes decreased, while incomes at the top continued to increase (Stone et al., 2015). Overall, since 1947, the Gini coefficient, which is what the U.S Census Bureau uses to measure income distribution inequality, rose from 5% to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When Disney was 16, his brother Roy decided to fight in World War I. He was too young to also join, but he still wanted to be close to his brother. So when he heard that ambulance drivers for the Red Cross needed to be only seventeen, he changed his birth date on his birth certificate and managed to enlist (Nardo 18). He spent most of his time in France, where he would draw all over his ambulance and draw fake medals on his friends jackets. In 1919, with the war over, he returned back to the United States, as he now knew what his true passion in life was, art. Disney searched for a job with the love of art on his mind. He landed a job as an apprentice illustrator for an agency and while there he met Ub Iwerks. Disney quickly mastered simple techniques and was soon bored with the basics. With the goal of making his own cartoon shorts and attempting to get local theaters to show them, he borrowed a camera, and he and Iwerks began doing their own animation at night (Nardo 20). Disney and Iwerks put in long hours on their cartoons and precision. Most young aspiring animators usually tried to play it safe with uncomplicated, familiar material, but ambitious Disney wanted to attempt something more challenging (Nardo 20). On his own, Disney set up and opened his own studio. His business began to grow and along with it so did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
