Essay On American Refugees
The United States has been a refuge for many people from other countries since the early 1900 s.
Many Americans do not know the difference between a refugee, an asylum seeker, and an immigrant.
Over the years, different associations, agencies, official acts and laws have come into existence to
limit who can be awarded the title of refugee. Rules and regulations have become the most confusing
part of coming to the United States if a person is seeking refuge. This paper will explore the history of
the American refugee and the laws, regulations, and associations that aide or hinder their status.
What is the Difference between a Refugee, and Asylum Seeker, and an Immigrant?
In the United States, a refugee is defined as a person that is outside of the United States and is seeking
refuge from persecution based on their race, nationality, religious beliefs, social group or political
opinion. Refugees can be excluded from being awarded refugee status for polygamy, health related
issues, moral and criminal and security grounds. They could also be excluded for misrepresentation of
facts on visa applications, smuggling and previous deportations. A person seeking asylum, is a person
that has already entered the United States by using a visa or illegally entering and is seeking the same
protection under the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also determines from which country they can be from. Currently, the Immigration and
Naturalization Act (INA) governs our current immigration policy and provides a limit of 675,000
permanent immigrants, with special exceptions for close family members. Immigration and refugee
status is based upon whether it is possible to reunite a family, whether the immigrant or refugee has a
special skill that would be valuable to the United States economy, protection for the refugee, and

APPEARANCE vs. REALITY IN THE PRINCE AND HAMLET
3. Reality and appearances, or if you prefer, being and acting, are important themes for both
Machiavelli and Shakespeare. Why? How do their perspectives on this subject agree or differ?
APPEARANCE vs. REALITY IN THE PRINCE AND HAMLET
One of the most fundamental questions in philosophy is the appearance vs. reality. We find ourselves
asking the question of what is genuinely real, and what is viewed merely as just an appearance, and
not real? It becomes difficult when we assume there is a difference in the two to determine which is
which. Generally, what we label as real is regarded as external and eternal. What we refer to as just an
appearance is regarded as temporary and internal. Many early as well as modern day authors use ...

Although he appears to be a confident father he does not trust his son to go away on his own.
Furthermore, Polonius adds to the theme of appearance versus reality by ordering Ophelia to stop
seeing Hamlet. He lies to her by telling her that Hamlet does not love her, he only lusts for her. Two of
Hamlet s closest friends from his childhood Rosencrantz and Guildenstern can as well be viewed as
liars who become very deceitful to Hamlet. After being asked by the king to find out what is bothering
Hamlet, the two go to Hamlet pretending to see him as a friend, but are in reality just obeying the king
s orders. When they ask what is troubling Hamlet, they become insincere, and almost sound as though
they had rehearsed what it was they were going to say. Hamlet noticed that the boys were told to do
this and states, A dream itself is but a shadow (Hamlet 73). Hamlet then realized that his own friend
were not in reality any friends at all. The king again sends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to apologize
for their behavior but Hamlet noticed their intentions yet again and simply insulted them. Hamlet s
supposed friends greatly add to the theme of appearance vs. reality.
The last character is Claudius, the brother of the deceased king, who was crowned the new king of

presence of the council in Act One Scene Two, he

Combining Adjuvant drug therapy to Risperidone
Combining Adjuvant drug therapy to Risperidone
1. Abstract
ASD also known as Autism spectrum disorder or simply Autism is a disorder that is very common in
children especially in male children and it is known to that mainly affect the behavior, ability to
communicate with others, ability to interact socially with others and level of interest to things of
people.
The disorder is usually treated using two common drugs known as Aripiprazole and risperidone. The
disorder can also be treated using therapy and some therapy drugs. The research below is to deduce
what will be the outcome of combining risperidone to adjuvant drug therapy. This is done through
analysis of conclusions drawn and effects observed from credible research articles previously
conducted by other researchers. From the analysis of the research by the other researchers,
conclusions drawn are that when compared, use of risperidone alone and the use of risperidone
together with an adjunctive drug such as Riluzole and N acetylcysteine the results prove that
combination of risperidone with an adjuvant drug is more effective and helpful to patients suffering
from autism.
2. Introduction
The research below was aimed at helping patients who face several forms of psychiatric disorders. An
example of a disorder in this category is the disruptive behavior and Autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Bisphenol A in polycarbonate is not a Serious Hazard to...
Is the Bisphenol A in polycarbonate a serious hazard to human health?
Abstract: Polycarbonate, which is a polymer plastic, is found in many bottles and food packaging
around the world. However, because Bisphenol A is used in the processing of it, there is a potential
danger to humans. Bisphenol A is a molecule that is a hormone inhibitor and also mirrors the function
of estrogen. Although the EPA has released a safe level for Bisphenol A ingestion, recent research has
shown that those levels may not be safe for humans. Until further testing is done, scientists aren t
certain of the threshold of BPA intake in humans before dangerous health effects occur.

However, it is the molecule of Bisphenol A that is causing the most problems with the polycarbonate.
Bisphenol A s molecular formula is C15H16O2 and a molecular mass of 288.29.
Three million tons of this hazardous polymer is produced yearly1. At room temperature, it is a white
solid and has a phenolic odor. 2 This chemical is an endocrine disrupter, and its presence in large
quantities within the body would probably be fatal. Tests have been done on rats with exposure to BPA
which shows that it raises levels of hormones such as prolactin in both males and females as well as
lowering the level of testosterone. 3 Studies have shown that BPA is comparative to the estrogen
hormone, as supported by those test results on rats. The Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) has set the level of safe exposure to BPA at 50 μg/kg/day, but this is based
on research that was done in the

Business Management Reflection
Throughout our Business Management course I have learned an abundant amount of relevant
information. The content ranged from topics as basic as a company s mission statement, to more
complex managerial responsibilities. While all the information was important, there were three
chapters that I found to be particularly beneficial. Chapter 4 Managing Ethics and Social
Responsibility, Chapter 5 Planning and Goal Setting and Chapter 8 Managing Change and Innovation
contained information that pertained to topics I find most important. I find that ethics, planning and
obtaining goals, and dealing with change in a work environment are the most important things to
know in any business
I n chapter 4 of Understanding Management, the text defines ethics as the code of moral principles
and values that governs the behaviors of a person or group with respect to what is right or wrong.
Although I knew the defining characteristics of ethics prior to the course reading, I did not know that
moral development has three distinct stages: preconventional, conventional, and postconventional. In
the preconventional stage of moral development, people act in self interest. This stage is most
common in children up to the age of nine. People in this stage are only obedient because they wish to
avoid punishment. However, in the conventional stage; a person can live up to social expectations and
uphold the law. Most managers function in the conventional stage of moral development. It is not until

Traditional Instructional Methods Have Continued For...
Traditional Instructional Method
Traditional teaching methods have continued for generations, and are still implemented today.
However, these instructional methods do not encourage students to own their own learning which in
turn leaves them as less engaged.
Author of How Teacher Education Matters Linda Darling Hammond wrote about the positive effects
training and development on teaching has on the teachers who under go them in contrast to those
teachers who had a small amount or even no training. Furthermore, teaching training and development
reforms that intensively wove expansive experimental training with assignments regarding how to
learn and how to teach produces teachers that have a higher probability of remaining in their chosen
teaching career. Therefore, teacher training plays a vital role in growing a teacher s ability to teach and
respond to practical situations that were merely just theory in training to their actual classrooms, and
then be able to evaluate and grow further.
In the last ten years their has been mass unhappiness with the education system especially with teacher
training programs. Assorted criticism towards education schools has arisen, claims from that they are
ineffective in shaping adequate teachers for their job, or that they do not respond to new demands, or
that they do not give students any practical experience, or even that they act as prevention to recruiting
intelligent and passionate college students. Eighty percent of America

How Did The Ionic Order Influence Greek Architecture
Let s delve back into the past and see the magnificent architecture that screamed power from every
curve.... ever pillar. Greek architecture used 3 main styles that were incorporated all over Greece and
is still practiced this day and age.
The first style is the Doric Order which emerged around the late seventh century and was predominant
in Greek temple constructions and major building; the most notable being the Parthenon in Athens.
The Doric order is characterized by a plain column that rests on a stylobate that did not have a base.
The columns are fluted and the square spaces in the vertical plaques and metopes are either painted or
sculpted to provide decoration to the plain columns.
The next style is the Ionic order. The Ionic order was developed during the mid sixth century and the
columns on Naxos. The Ionic order is known mainly from the graceful proportions where it is more of
a slender and elegant style compared to the Doric order who is stockier and supportive. Ionic order
uses base supports at the bottom of the columns and volutes (scroll like ornaments).
The final order is the Corinthian Order; the last classical order of Greek architecture. This order uses
more vegetal elements in its structures more so than the Ionic order. It used leaves ... Show more

The Role Of External Auditors On Public Financial Statements
External auditors play important roles in delivering credibility of public financial statements to
stakeholders outside of the audited firms (The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, 2008).
Published financial statements can be used by stakeholders as a basis for evaluating the financial
position of firms, analyzing the performance of management, or making investment decisions
(International Organization of Securities Commissions, 2002). Published financial statements will also
be used by institutions such as rating agencies to decide the worthiness of the firms, and by banks, to
decide the amount of loans that banks are willing to lend to (International Organization of Securities
Commissions, 2002). Thus, the public is significantly influenced by the examined financial statements
by external auditors (International Organization of Securities Commissions, 2002). For management,
they need to make estimates and judgments to write financial statements, such as choosing among
alternative accounting principles by considering the existing and potential clients base of the firm;
Whilst, the auditors are responsible of examining statements made by management and to express
opinion on them (The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, 2008). Auditors will collect
evidence to ensure reasonable assurance that the disclosures and detailed numbers in the statements
are free of material misstatements (Francis and Krishnan, 1999). In addition, auditors also

It s tone is that of satire, but of a satire which, for lack of a moral point of view, has lost its sting

To what extent do you agree with this response to the play?
By Molly Campbell
With the definition of a satire being, the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and
criticize people s stupidity , it is ludicrous to even propose that The Importance of Being Earnest is
anything other than a satirical play, as the characters relishing in the upper class of the Victorian
period unknowingly mock their own habits acquired to them due to the luxury they are spoilt with.
Despite this, it is evident that the use of satire is feckless and lacks a moral point of view, in contrast

Previous to Wilde s The Importance of Being Earnest, Victorian comedies consisted mostly of high
and low comedy and of dirty or vulgar jokes, dirty gestures, and sex . Hence, it is possible to suggest
that contradictory to Edouard Roditi s interpretation, the Importance of Being Earnest carries a moral
point of view in the fact it does not exploit sex or sexual preferences to effectuate drollery; Wilde
provokes laughter through mistaken identities and the consequences of bunburying perhaps to allude
that his opinions it that sexuality is not a laughing matter. Providing this interpretation is true, it is
acceptable to assume that the reasoning behind the negative criticisms the drama received when first
written were due to the fact critics felt appalled that a piece of writing could prove successful without
it consisting of any sexual nature and hence deemed The Importance of Being Earnest as, dull in
comparison to other plays read over the years . Howbeit, some critics state that the word earnest
became a code word for homosexual, as in: Is he earnest? , in the same way that Is he so? and Is he
musical? were also employed , suggesting that The Importance of Being Earnest is an expression of
Wilde s hatred for marriage and his fondness of homosexuality as he praises the idea of being Earnest

12 Angry Men Analysis 6
In the movie 12 Angry Men all five methods of influence were used. The Methods of influence such
as use of reason, assertiveness, coalition building, higher values, and bargaining were all used by the
jurors; whether it was purposely or subconsciously. The influential methods used by juror number
eight were the most effective for many reasons.
Jurors number three, the messenger service owner, and number ten, the garage owner tried to use the
assertiveness method of influence to get their points across. They were screaming and berating at
multiple points during the film. It was very clear that they were not going to change their minds. As I

He often asked for other jurors to explain their point of view and elaborate on why they think that the

turned out that this method was how Juror s three and ten were influenced to change their votes from
guilty to not guilty. Those two jurors subconsciously had individual motives to why they believed the
boy was guilty. Juror number ten was prejudice against kids and people in general from the slums for
whatever reason. His assertiveness peaked when he went into a rage that caused other jurors to see his
true colors. After this tyrant, it was clear to everyone that he was prejudice. He also realized for
himself that he was subconsciously prejudice and it wasn t a good reason for him to vote guilty. Juror
number three was just upset because he raised a son who he hasn t seen in two years. Apparently, his
son ended up becoming ungrateful to his father and hasn t cared to see the father for at least two years.
So, juror three was taking out the rage and anger that he had for his son out on the boy on trial. He was
the last one to alter his vote from not guilty. All juror number eight did was use the higher value
method of influence and asked the messenger service owner to explain why guilty was the correct
vote. He went into a tyrant rage and realized for himself that he was not voting on personal feelings

Peekay s Trait Formation Life does not always take the easy path for all of us. Bryce Courtey writes
about Peekay, who is an English boy, that does not have the easiest life although it may seem like it.
Peekay goes through a lot of heartbreaks, in the form of death, but ends up coming out on top. With
Peekay traveling around and forming new relationships he grasps the traits everyone would love to

himself. Most of the time when Peekay got picked on he had to stand up for himself because no one

Discrimination Lives Within Everyone Essay
Racial discrimination has affected the world in many ways. Historically in the United States there
have always been racial issues between the African Americans and white Americans. Most African
Americans were sidelined in all areas of economic, political and social growth. Whites were seen to be
more superior, which led to segregation of housing, schools, restaurants, hotels, and transportation.
Equally concerning, are the instances of religious discrimination that still occur in this country. Even
though we have made important advances in race relations, we still face serious racial and religious
discrimination in the United States. During the 1950s until the mid 1970s African Americans fought

One of the most famous historical marches was the march in Birmingham, Alabama. This is where Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. visited his associated organization and discussed the a nonviolent movement
through the streets of Birmingham. King was arrested for violating a state policy of assembling a
protest and spent time in solitary confinement. During King s time alone he wrote a letter to the
clergymen of Alabama stating that he was wrongfully arrested and that he had good reason for being
in Birmingham. King stated that he was the president of the SCLC organization, and he was invited to
Birmingham because he had ties there in Birmingham (King 222). Another form of discrimination that
plagues us today is reverse discrimination. Reverse discrimination is a controversial term referring to
discrimination against members of a dominant or majority group, including the city, state, or country
in favor of a minority or historically disadvantaged group. Martha Gellhorn author of White into

Probable Cause Plus Exigent Circumstances
2. Probable Cause Plus Exigent Circumstances The probable cause plus exigent circumstances
exception to the search warrant requirement applies when the exigencies of the situation make the
needs of law enforcement so compelling that a warrantless search is objectively reasonable under the
Fourth Amendment. The state bears the burden of proving that the search falls under this exception.
The exception requires that an officer have probable cause and that the situation present exigent
circumstances. To have probable cause, there must exist a fair probability that the police will find
evidence of a crime. However, no amount of probable cause can justify a warrantless search or seizure
absent exigent circumstances. Whether a law enforcement officer was justified in acting in the absence
of a warrant depends on the totality of circumstances. The United States Supreme Court uses a careful
case by case approach to determine whether circumstances rose to the required level of exigency.
Recognized exigent circumstances that justify warrantless entry may include, but are not limited to:
entering to provide emergency aid to someone inside, pursuant to an immediate threat to officer safety,
in hot pursuit of a fleeing suspect, to put out a fire and investigate its cause, and to prevent the
imminent destruction of evidence of a serious crime. While circumstances that present the requisite
exigency to justify a warrantless search differ, in each

You can do this by quoting, paraphrasing or summarizing the original text in which you obtained the

in the Army. The research was pooled from a wide variety of personnel and took a very longtime. This
research also included other branches of service, comparing techniques and strategies to ensure they
had the most accurate data available. The survey findings concluded the noncommissioned officers
(NCOs) were poorly regarded working long hours, lack of free time for family concerns, and
inadequate staffing. The survey also concluded that the caliber of NCOs that were selected were below
the standard required by other services. (unknown, n.d.) The next year the Army began pilot courses at

Widely considered to be one of the leading indices in the world, the FTSE 250 is an index that features
some of the biggest operating companies on the planet. However, some may be unsure of what of an

This resulted in improper use of accounting principles. The company also told its auditors, PWC, that
they used a means of FOB shipping point in regards to shipping products to yard. Although this

financials. Finally, the company also performed guarnteed sales as a fraud tactic. In doing this, the
company reported revenue and later shipped the products that were sold to their warehouses
nationwide. As a precautionary measure, the company withheld the unconditional right for customers
to return the products in which they purchased. Even though the company included this in their report,
they did not report the sales return in their statements going forward. These fraud factors are very
risky in regards to abiding by the laws set forth by the GAAP. In 1999 the company decided to report
that they would fall way short of wall street projections due to inefficencies in the supply chain and

Film Analysis Of Gavin Hood s Tsotsi
Set in Johannesburg in post apartheid South Africa, the contrast between rich and poor is extensively
explored in the film Tsotsi , directed by Gavin Hood (2005). The movie illustrates the dramatic life of
a young thug named Tsotsi, who shoots and steals a car from a middle classed African woman, thus
unintentionally kidnapping her baby. The themes of decency, redemption and chance are extensively
explored within the film, absorbing the viewer s attention. That is achieved by cinematic techniques,
including camera angles, custom design and music that communicate Hood s views of stereotyping.

Why Did John Wilkes Booth Killed President Abraham Lincoln
When John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Abraham Lincoln, it was a life changing event for the
whole country. It took many days for the country to know that Abraham Lincoln had been
assassinated. Then, everyone wanted to know why. Why did John Wilkes Booth assassinate Lincoln?
Did he do it to be evil or did it for a specific reason? The fact that John Wilkes Booth assassinated
Lincoln was unexpected. He was a famous actor that had no criminal background. Nobody had any
clue why he chose to do what he did, or did they? There were many motivating factors of why John

And yet, I striking down a greater tyrant than they ever knew, I am looked upon as a common

President, no one thinks he is a hero. Before assassinating Lincoln he first attempted to kidnap him.
On biography.com it states, Frustrated at seeing his plot fail, Booth resolved to go to a far greater
extreme. When he chose to go to a far greater extreme, he chose to assassinate. When he jumped from
the stage after shooting the President he shouted something. In the book Chasing Lincoln s Killer it
says, Sic sempter to tyrants! The south is avenged! When Booth says the The South is avenged! he
means the south is free and they are no longer under Lincoln. That made him angry, and wanted to kill
the president even more than ever. In conclusion, Booth thought he was going to be a hero, but things
turned out differently. The final motivating factor that influenced Booth to assassinate Lincoln is that
he did it for the good of the country. Booth believed that his country wanted the same as he did,
although that was not the case. In Booth s diary it states, The country is not what it was. This forced

center of the spinning cloud a tiny star began to form. The star eventually grew larger and collected
more dust and gas that collapsed into it. Farther from the center of the mass that was being formed

The Power Of Control In George Orwell s 1984
George Orwell s 1984 and the Power of Controlling Thought INTRO PARAGRAPH: Ever read 1984
by George Orwell? It s a novel that is one of those big, bad always watching government types. I
assume you ve read it if you are reading this. In the novel, the government uses the power to control
what people believe and see to its advantage and does this through its ability to brainwash the masses.
Now, the novel and the world we live hold some similarities that I am going to share today. THESIS
STATEMENT: Orwell depicts the effects of an over controlling government on its citizens and the
similarity of its parallel effects in the current world we live in today. In 1984, the way the people are

If we look at the prompts we were given for this exact essay, one is asking us to defend the accuracy
of the statement for the theme of that the government s actions are not benevolent, but self serving.
The prompt itself isn t asking us if it is accurate. It s telling us that it is. What this does is give us as a
reader the preconceived notion that this is the truth. The problem here being that what if we don t
think that this statement is what the novel is about. Truthfully, you can interpret anything from a
novel, so you could really put any theme there and defend it. However the statement from the novel
itself describes this perfectly. Don t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of
thought? In the end we shall make thought crime literally impossible, because there will be no words
in which to express it. (Orwell 23) The essays that we have been told to write are in fact doing such a
thing by having us restate themes and opinions told to us by higher powers and then defend such
themes. What this does is condition us to not have our own opinion on things. How many times have
you been on the internet and you see someone get famous based off their opinion on something, only
to have everyone else then start thinking the exact same way. People are in some regards, very sheep
like creatures where they have to seek out a subjective viewpoint on

Missions is a complex, multilayered calling that then has several layers of philosophy within it. It is
not like an onion that you peel layers back one at a time to find deeper layers within it, but it is more
like an orange, with separate slices that come together to create a complete, holistic piece of fruit. If a
slice gets removed, it still might look and taste like an orange, but it is not quite complete. In the same
way, missions has many slices to it and removing one does not make the others less missional, but
perhaps less complete under the umbrella, or peel, of missions. There are three primary slices that I

American Sniper Compare And Contrast
The term sniper means someone who shoots from a hiding place at a long range with extreme
accuracy. It is said that it takes the average sniper only 1.3 bullets to kill his target. In the military the
sniper has two jobs. The first job is to deliver long range fire on selected targets. The second job is is
to collect and report information about the battlefield. Snipers have been used in the united states
military as far back as the American Civil War, but they were called sharpshooters then. From then to
now both their techniques and technology have changed together. The first part of being a sniper that
has changed is their weapons. There are many differences between the American sniper and his rifle
between the American Revolution and Now. In the Revolutionary war snipers used their own hunting
rifles. By 1914, the bolt action rifle had been perfected, the ammunition used was much smaller
caliber and had a much higher velocity. The new rounds were also propelled by smokeless powder,
which allowed the sniper to hide much more effectively. The main sniper rifle used during the

Description And How Segmented Market Segmentation
Description/How Segmented
Market Segmentation
Market segmentation is a strategy that involves breaking down a business s current target market into
smaller subsets in order to establish a more defined set of market categories. It is important to first
look at the tools available to assist with segmenting the market prior to beginning your segmentation.
These tools include the following:
Characteristics of Buyers The typical consumer of precision machined parts includes distributors,
original equipment manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers.
Product Use For Falmer, their consumers typically purchase items in one of four categories including
heavy truck and truck related parts, high performance automobile parts, hydraulic hose assemblies and
railcar hardware. There are some customers that supply detailed drawings that fall outside of these
main categories that Falmer will produce the parts for as long as their equipment has the capabilities to
do so.
Buyers Needs/Preferences The consumers in the precision machined parts industry typically look for a
supplier that can provide a high quality item to the required specification at a low cost and short lead
time. They also prefer to have a supplier that keeps them up to date on if any issues arise, provide
good customer service, and are willing to replace defective items if they are found.

Reasons Why The National Anthem Should Be Banned
This protest all started when one man said these words. I m not going to stand up to show pride in a
flag for a country that appressed black people and people of color...To me ,this is bigger than football
and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.(Calin Kaepernick). This protest is caused
uproar among the people and the football players. Here are three simple reasons why it s wrong, and
should be stopped. One reason why is that by refusing to stand for the national anthem shows
disrespect for the flag and members of the armed forces. Also some reasons the national anthem is so
important is because it pays respect to the people that risk their lives, and to the people that fight for
what they think is right. The second reason is not standing for the national anthem is an ineffective
and counterproductive way to promote a cause. All this does is cause people to get mad this is not
helping any cause what so ever just as just as Clemson university said in a press conference saying I
don t think it s good to be a distraction to your team and also he doesn t think it s a good thing to use
your team as a platform. The third and final reason is refusing to stand for the national anthem angers
many and sows division in our country. This is just a waste of time and should be stopped.
The way this protest is changing the game of football is. By them protesting the way they are the
ratings have went downhill but the protest have not yet stopped or even came close

The History of Those Without Wealth or Education Essay
History has been traditionally told from the point of view of those with wealth and education. But to
truly understand history one must understand the history of the people who were not writing the
history which includes the nation s minorities, working class and those without a high level of
education. Society is made up of a variety of people and history is not complete without telling all of
their stories. History was traditionally written by a select number of people. This leads to a biased
view of history because the educated could not experience every part of society. One example is
American slavery where many of the black slaves were not formally educated so they were not able to
tell their stories. At first the educated white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example Providential history was written by governors and puritans to justify the ways of God.
Rationalists were usually wealthy and classically educated men with vast private resources who wrote
history for leisure or to educate others with their success. Professional historians were college
educated and wrote history for a living. A branch of Professional history, new social history focused
on the retelling of history which culminated in the last 40 years. In these past 4 decades history was
rewritten to include women and minorities. As they rose in power and influence they began to involve
themselves in the writing of history. The untold stories of the important events in American history
such as the civil rights movement were now told from a different point of view. History cannot be
complete without including all information. If the government decided to eradicate events that made
the nation look bad then history will make no sense. This is happening in the textbooks of Shanghai.
The textbooks now include no information on wars dynasties and communist revolutions. Even
chairman Mao, one of China s most significant historical figures is excluded. China prefers to focus

The Perspective Of Objectivism In The Fountainhead By Ayn...
The perspective that there is a reality, or domain of articles and certainties, which exists entirely
autonomous of the consciousness, objectivism was introduced in the novel The Fountainhead by Ayn
Rand. Rand desired to have a strong willed character with the ability to influence the readers to
invariably support that character from his dull to his great circumstances. The novel s idealistic
protagonist, Howard Roark, thinks and moves without a hint of a flaw. Without the liberality of
feelings that confounds an individual, Roark trusts himself to be the best and he couldn t care less in
the event that others suspect as much. Ayn Rand depicts her character plainly and it is extremely easy
to disclose to her inclination towards the characters when she presents them. All through the story
Howard Roark was constantly depicted in a positive light and was constantly spoken to as the image
of an unrealistic man. In this manner, there are such huge numbers of viewpoints to Roark s character,
for example, his genuineness and his integrity are the reasons why he s regarded as an unrealistic
character.
In the early stages of the novel, it is evident that Rand aspires to concoct the story with how Howard
Roark lives his life and not somebody like Keating. The story chiefly comprises and discusses how
Howard, who wasn t the best in money related issues, figured out how to win ethically unlike someone
like Peter who figured out how to exceed expectations fiscally, however, portrays

unique wild life, it is the only country which has hosted the world cup for cricket, rugby, and soccer,
the vast history due to the colonialization of Africa by Europe, and the luxurious bodies of water
found in South Africa. Also during my research I found out that Woodberry offers an exchange

1 Corinthians Authorship
The date and authorship of 1 Corinthians, in general, is highly uncontested. Most biblical scholars are
comfortable setting the probable date for the writing of 1 Corinthians at 54 56 A.D. and the author as
the apostle Paul. There is a lot of support in the Bible and also historical reinforcement that uphold
this date and authorship for the book of 1 Corinthians. The only major area of contention in regards to
the letter of 1 Corinthians is in its integrity. Some scholars would argue that the letter is a combination
of multiple letters written by Paul that over time were stitched together to form 1 Corinthians, while

English Language Learners For My Assessment
Profile
The intended English language learners for my assessment would be primary aged students who are at
the beginning level, according to WIDA. Primary aged students are students in kindergarten through
grade 2, and WIDA describes students as beginning if they (a) understand and speak conversational
and academic English with hesitancy and difficulty, (b) understand parts of lessons and simple
directions, and (c) are at a pre emergent or emergent level of reading and writing in English,
significantly below grade level. (http://ell.dpi.wi.gov/sites/default/files/imce/ell/pdf/elp levels.pdf).
Although my students would be young, they could be classified as significantly below grade level if
they cannot identify letters and perform poorly on the kindergarten screening and running records.
Most ELL students at this age are not literate in their native language, which may make learning
English literacy more difficult.
Rationale
The test I designed I could currently use with some of the students in my classes. I teach kindergarten
and first grade English Language Arts and Social Studies and we have a moderate number of
immigrant students whose parents do not speak English. Although we do not have an ESL program,
our bilingual program draws many native Spanish speaking students to our school because their

This device was made out of solid steel, and weighed 350 thousand pounds. The purpose of this
gimbal was to flip the ship safely with around 150 200 stuntmen on it, and then ILM would go into the
computer later and add the rest of the ship that wasn t actually there. [ (McCallie) ] ILM used Alias
Studio, Maya, and Softimage for basic modeling. [ (Wolff) ] Figure [ 2 ] [ (McCallie) ] Another shot
that was very dependent on ILM for effects was during the attack, and there was a scene where a
Japanese zero was shot down, and crashes into a radio tower. It banks out of control, skids along a
rooftop, and slams into the tower about 20 feet from the viewer. You see the

International Financial Institutions
The world economy is becoming more global in regards to its underlying operations each successive
year. International trade has had a profound impact on global wealth while also increasing the quality
of life for societies around the world. Banking, and in particular, international banking facilities the
exchange of capital to areas of the world that need it. These inflows of capital help to foster ingenuity,
creativity, and innovation to help spur international growth. As such, each year, globalization plays a
more profound role in regards to the national economies of the world. Globalization has allowed for
the expansion of corporate operations beyond their natural domestic boundaries. As such it has
contributed to an increased standard of living for those who embrace its presence and are therefore
willing to take risks (Stiglitz, 2007).
Free trade therefore, is a welcomed addition within the overarching trend of globalization.
International financial institutions, both directly and indirectly facilitate free trade among international
countries. Free trade allows for the transfer of goods and services when demanded by specific
economies. This is much like the exchange of capital needed to help individual companies to grow. It
also allows the countries best suited for such activities to flourish. For example, China is proficient in
manufacturing which allows the country to export far more goods than it imports. This is partly due to
free trade and international

Modern Day Heroism In Greek Mythology
Heroism in Greek mythology has slowly amended over the centuries and this leads to our modern day
heroism. Many heroes in Greek mythology have shown to have unique abilities, but this writing isn t
about that. These heroes have many similar characteristics as our modern day heroes. I want to inform
to whoever reads this, about the differences between our modern heroes with the heroes of Greek
mythology. Each perspective is different from one another,so I may not be wrong or right. To help
show the examples of each amended heroism. I will identify a hero with that heroism to explain how
that heroism changes to our modern hero and heroism. I know it s a bit confusing, but I know you ll
manage to keep up. Jason in Greek mythology is the leader of the Argonauts and he is sent to go get
the Golden Fleece. During his travel he has shown acts of bravery, selflessness, and has done an
impossible task. Jason does many deeds to reach the Golden Fleece and that s what makes him a hero.
Our modern day hero to this is Doc Hendley, this man made a fundraiser called Wine To Water. In
doing this Doc Hendley shows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Odysseus was a legendary hero in greek mythology,he took part in the Trojan War,but was soon lost
while returning home. During those ten years lost,Odysseus has shown perseverance, persistence, and
courage. While trying to return home and has helped many people during that time. To compare with
this hero I have chosen Razia Jan. A woman who has helped many people in need and has built
schools in Afghanistan. Throughout that time she has been threatened. She has shown
persistence, care, and generosity towards Afghanistan people and others as well. In addition she has
done an impossible task and has also shown valor. The one difference between them is how Razia
cares more about people. I m not saying Odysseus is caring, but all of his crew died before reaching

Psychological Interpretation Of Conflict On The Eye Of...
Staub s psychological interpretation of conflict is that conflict in society is a result of individuals or
groups expectations. In society, people have their own personal standard for themselves as well as the
state they live in, known as relative deprivation. When standards are not met, there is opportunity for
conflict. An important term that helps define conflict in the eye of Staub and Overcoming Evil is
pseudo transcendency. Pseudo transcendency is the basic frustration that needs aren t being me in
society resulting in an individual to act out of self interest, extreme beliefs, or violent, criminal
activities (Staub, 2011). Sources of conflict are natural amongst people of opposing desires or needs.

In March of 2013, the violence between the two groups only heightened (Staff, 2014). This violence is
a result of an incident between a Muslim shopkeeper and a Buddhist shopper over a gold chain. The
violence that ensued shortly after led to riots that destroyed shops and resulted in a Buddhist monk
being killed. Since the last decade of Myanmar s history, there has been increasing violence between
Muslims and Buddhists. Groups such as the 969, led by a leader also known as the Buddhist Bin
Laden (MacGregor, 2013), have formed to repress Muslims in Myanmar. Because the international
idea that Buddhists are a strictly pacifist, non violent ethnic group, people are less learned or educated
about the violence and persecution of Muslims in Myanmar. The conflict in Myanmar is best
described under a soft rational choice/instrumental approach. The conflict in Myanmar has incredible
historical context that can specifically be related to Horowitz s causal mechanisms of conflict. In an
article by Donald Horowitz, he explains the hard and soft approaches to violence. The conflict in
Myanmar can be understood using a soft approach because it is apparent that Muslims and Buddhists
in Myanmar can be decomposed into the motives of their members, that they are instruments for the
pursuit of those motives, and that their actions need to be explained in terms of individual calculations
of utility in specific

Absurdity And Society
Philosophy Research paper Extra credit Absurdity and Society According to Camus s philosophy of
absurdity, a person is truly happy when he or she accepts that life is meaningless. For example, there is
no fate, or anything past immediate experience. The hope of something better in the future is what
keeps people happy, which raises a question; are people truly happy? If a person cannot be happy
without finding meaning, then people must accept existence has no meaning beyond what each
individual makes of it, and by accepting a meaningless fate; people can be truly aware and therefore
happy. Religion is another form of hope. It is something to look forward to, beyond unpleasant
worldly experiences. The majority of society in the world have a religion of some sort in order to
create contentment and to disguise what Camus believes the world to be, an abyss of meaninglessness.
Therefore, it is significant to consider: without religion, if life was truly meaningless, would it still be
important to perform good deeds. It is also noteworthy for people to consider, if life has no meaning,
is it still important to love, marry, look for adventure or opportunity? Camus s perception of absurdity
can raise many questions that could transform the structure of modern society entirely. Firstly, it is
practical to question if an absurdist would fit into modern society at all. To this inquiry, Camus
answers that it is not so likely in his book The Stranger. In this book, the main character

Anne Karpf s The Human Voice
I remember citing in my head a particularly intriguing topic Anne Karpf brought up briefly within the
first chapters of her book. She said, Voice and speech are treated as almost identical, and speech as
little more than spoken language... We raid speech for its semantic meaning, and then discard the
voice like leftovers, detritus. (Karpf, Anne. The Human Voice. Bloomsbury Publishing, 2006. Pg. 13).
This opinion of hers seemingly challenged her readers to search throughout their everyday lives in
order to pinpoint when and where this sort of obliviousness actually happens. Turns out, these sort of
occurrences happen everywhere and often. A man once buoyant and blithesome could simply flatten
and lower the tone of his voice and just this would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His experiment was only to test whether the common belief that the people most important to us were
the ones we confided in most out of all our relationships, was true. His findings stated nearly half or
(45%) of the people with whom participants had most recently discussed an important matter were not
the people most important to them. He also recorded that 20% of the time, participants said they
looked for someone with particular expertise or insight and 15% of the time, participants said they
talked to a particular person about an important matter because that person was available at the time
they wanted to talk (DePaulo, Bella. Why Don t We Confide in the People Closest to Us? 2014).
People just want to talk. Although trust and overall credibility of the person confided in matter, people
simply seek relief through vocalizing their feelings and dilemmas whether it be with their
Grandmother or the guy next to them in the coffee line. This could explain why after a few minutes of
meeting, many people feel just fine with discussing problems at home or work with complete

The Stele Of Naram-Sin Sne Analysis
In my essay, I will compare and contrast two historical pieces. The first one is the Victory Stele of
Naram Sin. The stele was made by the Mesopotamian empire during the Akkadian period, which was
from 2254 to 2218 BCE. It was founded in Susa, present day Shush, Iran. The second piece is the
Palette of Narmer. The palette was made by the nation during the Egyptian period during 3000 2920
BCE. Both of the objects convey different messages in them through their visual construction. First I
will discuss the scenes in the objects, then I will discuss the composition, and lastly, I will explain
what the pieces were made of and how tall they are.
The Victory Stele of Naram Sin was made by the empire to commemorate Naram Sin. The stele was

On the stele, the viewer can see that he won the battle by having him be on top. Also, in front of him
are the enemies that are begging him to live. Unlike the Victory Stele of Naram Sin that
commemorates a god and one of his victories, the Palette of Narmer represents the unification of
Egypt s government. The front of the palette is a smiting scene. This is where Narmer holds the hair of
Lower Egypt s king. On the back, Narmer is seen wearing a red crown to signify his victory. The
composition is an important part of the art. In both pieces, the eyes move from the top to the bottom
with the help of the registers. Registers are lines that help separate what is going on in the piece. In the
Victory Stele of Naram Sin, the eye goes straight to the top. The stone slab has a ragged edge to
represent the mountain tops where the battle took place. The top

Demon s that Lay Awake in Dreams Carmilla is the story of a lesbian vampire who has become
captivated with a young girl. She first meets Laura when she was 6. Carmilla puts Laura in a trance
like state that gave her the sensation that she was dreaming the meeting of Carmilla. A Nightmare on
Elm Street is a story about a small group of teenagers being haunted by an apparition, named Freddie
Krueger, which uses dreams as gateways into the real world. Freddie uses fear as a way of putting his
victims into a trance that prevents them from escaping similar to how Carmilla offers their deepest
desire. Carmilla uses the dream like state in order to suck her victim s blood, sometimes to the point of
death. Freddie uses it to outright kill and enact revenge for the parents who had indirectly caused his
death. Dreaming allows these two, supposedly, immortal creatures to thrive and accomplish their
goals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Essay On American Refugees The United States has been a refuge for many people from other countries since the early 1900 s. Many Americans do not know the difference between a refugee, an asylum seeker, and an immigrant. Over the years, different associations, agencies, official acts and laws have come into existence to limit who can be awarded the title of refugee. Rules and regulations have become the most confusing part of coming to the United States if a person is seeking refuge. This paper will explore the history of the American refugee and the laws, regulations, and associations that aide or hinder their status. What is the Difference between a Refugee, and Asylum Seeker, and an Immigrant? In the United States, a refugee is defined as a person that is outside of the United States and is seeking refuge from persecution based on their race, nationality, religious beliefs, social group or political opinion. Refugees can be excluded from being awarded refugee status for polygamy, health related issues, moral and criminal and security grounds. They could also be excluded for misrepresentation of facts on visa applications, smuggling and previous deportations. • 3. APPEARANCE vs. REALITY IN THE PRINCE AND HAMLET 3. Reality and appearances, or if you prefer, being and acting, are important themes for both Machiavelli and Shakespeare. Why? How do their perspectives on this subject agree or differ? APPEARANCE vs. REALITY IN THE PRINCE AND HAMLET One of the most fundamental questions in philosophy is the appearance vs. reality. We find ourselves asking the question of what is genuinely real, and what is viewed merely as just an appearance, and not real? It becomes difficult when we assume there is a difference in the two to determine which is which. Generally, what we label as real is regarded as external and eternal. What we refer to as just an appearance is regarded as temporary and internal. Many early as well as modern day authors use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although he appears to be a confident father he does not trust his son to go away on his own. Furthermore, Polonius adds to the theme of appearance versus reality by ordering Ophelia to stop seeing Hamlet. He lies to her by telling her that Hamlet does not love her, he only lusts for her. Two of Hamlet s closest friends from his childhood Rosencrantz and Guildenstern can as well be viewed as liars who become very deceitful to Hamlet. After being asked by the king to find out what is bothering Hamlet, the two go to Hamlet pretending to see him as a friend, but are in reality just obeying the king s orders. When they ask what is troubling Hamlet, they become insincere, and almost sound as though they had rehearsed what it was they were going to say. Hamlet noticed that the boys were told to do this and states, A dream itself is but a shadow (Hamlet 73). Hamlet then realized that his own friend were not in reality any friends at all. The king again sends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to apologize for their behavior but Hamlet noticed their intentions yet again and simply insulted them. Hamlet s supposed friends greatly add to the theme of appearance vs. reality. Probable Cause Plus Exigent Circumstances The probable cause plus exigent circumstances exception to the search warrant requirement applies when the exigencies of the situation make the needs of law enforcement so compelling that a warrantless search is objectively reasonable under the Fourth Amendment. The state bears the burden of proving that the search falls under this exception. The exception requires that an officer have probable cause and that the situation present exigent circumstances. The problem here being that what if we don t think that this statement is what the novel is about. I m not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that appressed black people and people of color...To me ,this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.(Calin Kaepernick). This protest is caused uproar among the people and the football players. Here are three simple reasons why it s wrong, and should be stopped. One reason why is that by refusing to stand for the national anthem shows disrespect for the flag and members of the armed forces. Also some reasons the national anthem is so important is because it pays respect to the people that risk their lives, and to the people that fight for what they think is right. The second reason is not standing for the national anthem is an ineffective and counterproductive way to promote a cause. All this does is cause people to get mad this is not helping any cause what so ever just as just as Clemson university said in a press conference saying I don t think it s good to be a distraction to your team and also he doesn t think it s a good thing to use your team as a platform. The third and final reason is refusing to stand for the national anthem angers many and sows division in our country. This is just a waste of time and should be stopped. The perspective that there is a reality, or domain of articles and certainties, which exists entirely autonomous of the consciousness, objectivism was introduced in the novel The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Rand desired to have a strong willed character with the ability to influence the readers to invariably support that character from his dull to his great circumstances. The novel s idealistic protagonist, Howard Roark, thinks and moves without a hint of a flaw. Without the liberality of feelings that confounds an individual, Roark trusts himself to be the best and he couldn t care less in the event that others suspect as much. Ayn Rand depicts her character plainly and it is extremely easy to disclose to her inclination towards the characters when she presents them. All through the story Howard Roark was constantly depicted in a positive light and was constantly spoken to as the image of an unrealistic man. In this manner, there are such huge numbers of viewpoints to Roark s character, for example, his genuineness and his integrity are the reasons why he s regarded as an unrealistic character. In the early stages of the novel, it is evident that Rand aspires to concoct the story with how Howard Roark lives his life and not somebody like Keating. • 47. Absurdity And Society Philosophy Research paper Extra credit Absurdity and Society According to Camus s philosophy of absurdity, a person is truly happy when he or she accepts that life is meaningless. For example, there is no fate, or anything past immediate experience. The hope of something better in the future is what keeps people happy, which raises a question; are people truly happy? If a person cannot be happy without finding meaning, then people must accept existence has no meaning beyond what each individual makes of it, and by accepting a meaningless fate; people can be truly aware and therefore happy. Religion is another form of hope. It is something to look forward to, beyond unpleasant worldly experiences. The majority of society in the world have a religion of some sort in order to create contentment and to disguise what Camus believes the world to be, an abyss of meaninglessness. Therefore, it is significant to consider: without religion, if life was truly meaningless, would it still be important to perform good deeds. It is also noteworthy for people to consider, if life has no meaning, is it still important to love, marry, look for adventure or opportunity? Camus s perception of absurdity can raise many questions that could transform the structure of modern society entirely. We raid speech for its semantic meaning, and then discard the voice like leftovers, detritus. (Karpf, Anne. The Human Voice. Bloomsbury Publishing, 2006. Pg. 13). This opinion of hers seemingly challenged her readers to search throughout their everyday lives in order to pinpoint when and where this sort of obliviousness actually happens. Turns out, these sort of occurrences happen everywhere and often. A man once buoyant and blithesome could simply flatten and lower the tone of his voice and just this would ... Unlike the Victory Stele of Naram Sin that commemorates a god and one of his victories, the Palette of Narmer represents the unification of Egypt s government. Registers are lines that help separate what is going on in the piece. In the Victory Stele of Naram Sin, the eye goes straight to the top. The stone slab has a ragged edge to represent the mountain tops where the battle took place. The top ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
