It engages in green public procurement (GPP) to promote more sustainable products and circular economy business models. The EEB provides input to the EU's GPP criteria development process by coordinating feedback from NGO experts, attending working group meetings, and submitting written comments. It also works to strengthen GPP policies and increase their uptake at the national level.

He has extensive experience researching and supervising students on topics related to life cycle management, renewable energy sources, and waste management. He discussed how conducting a life cycle assessment requires significant data collection and highlighted challenges with a lack of regionalized data sources for South Africa. He is leading a project to develop life cycle inventory data sets for key South African industries to improve the availability and reliability of data for conducting life cycle assessments locally.

This project called MUSHNOMICS aims to optimize mushroom production through data-driven innovation. It will develop AI algorithms to predict mushroom yields, create a digital platform to share data along the supply chain, and design an environmentally controlled modular farm unit. The goal is to lower costs and improve profitability for the mushroom industry through precision agriculture techniques. A consortium of universities and companies from several European countries will carry out production trials, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination activities over three years to implement and validate the MUSHNOMICS system.

The first phase of the Auroville Smart Mini Grid project is now complete. The project was conceived and driven by Auroville Consulting and includes 122 kW of distributed rooftop solar energy systems. The solar PV systems are expected to reduce Auroville’s electricity consumption from the TANGEDCO grid by an average of 1,65,416 kWh per year. In addition to the rooftop solar systems, the project includes an energy storage system with a capacity of 50 kWh, 68 smart energy meters with remote reading facility and additions to the Auroville internal electricity distribution system. The Smart Mini Grid project aims to demonstrate that distributed and connected renewable energy generation and storage systems will be essential parts of a sustainable energy future. The project was lead by Auroville Consulting. Other Auroville units include Auroville Electrical Service, Sunlit Future, Aurinoco and Cynergy.
