This document summarizes EIT Climate-KIC's Sustainable Production Systems program which addresses climate change and sustainable economic development through strategic innovation. It consists of 3 cause-related programs: Loop, which aims to close material loops and reduce emissions; Re-Industrialize, which helps carbon-intensive regions transition economically; and <<2°C Pathway to decarbonize high-emission industries. The programs include pathfinder, accelerator, demonstrator, and scaler projects, as well as flagships on circular economy plastics and regional economic transition. The overall goal is to recast materials production, reboot economies, and reduce industry emissions to help achieve a less than 2 degree global temperature rise.
Remanufacturing in the Circular Economy - introduction to the Circular Econom...Circle Economy
During the Circular Economy Seminar at ReMaTec 2015 Circle Economy's CEO Andy Ridley provided an introduction about the importance of remanufacturing in the circular economy.
Continued investment in a linear economy results in long-term, system-wide impacts and risks. Moving to a circular economy is increasingly recognized as an opportunity to reduce risk and uncover new growth opportunities. However, while a variety of tools exist for measuring and quantifying sustainability topics and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, no tool currently exists that provides a comprehensive framework for circularity and specifically quantify how circular organisations are.
To address this, Circle Economy developed the Circle Assessment to establish a global standard to help investors and companies assess where organizations can create value by following the principles of a circular economy. Via an online survey, the Circle Assessment measures organisations against circular objectives and provides recommendations for how to capitalise on opportunities to adopt circular focused business practices.

Solwatt® is a comprehensive programme designed by Solvay to implement an energy management system on large energy-intensive industrial sites.
The review phase follows two streams:
The technical stream, aiming at documenting in an action plan a minimum of 10% savings through a series of short payback incremental technical improvements.
The behavioural and management stream, aiming at fostering a lasting culture of energy management and savings on the site, with a detailed structure of KPIs and KAIs and a managerial action plan.

Ricoh: Manufacturing in the Circular Economy - Base Cities Birmingham - April...Andy Whyle
Presentation made at Base Cities Birimingham (April 2013) showing Ricoh's approach to Zero Waste, Remanufacturing and how these aspects engage with the circular economy.
The presentation shows how Ricoh has implemented reverse logistics to retain control of it's assets (products), and then remanufactured the assets to reduce environmental impact and increase resource conservation. This falls in line with Ricoh's Comet Circle life cycle philosophy and Zero Waste to Landfill standard.
GreenBiz 17 Tutorial Slides: "Putting Circular Economy Principles to Work"GreenBiz Group
The Circular Economy presents an incredible opportunity for transformative growth and change, but taking the concept from theory to implementation requires what can be a challenging exercise in rethinking systems. Join this session to explore how to put these principles into practice. Actual business case studies will set the stage for a group brainstorming session on how to apply circular models to various business scenarios. Key concepts to be covered include:
How adopting a Circular Economy mindset can deliver value to your business
The key drivers for a Circular Economy business
How to integrate lifecycle thinking and circular economy
How to select the right metrics and quantify circularity
What Europe’s Circular Package means for your company
GreenBiz 17 In-Depth Tutorials are intensive half-day sessions held prior to the start of the conference. These are designed to offer participants an opportunity to dive deeper into a topic of interest and develop tangible knowledge and skills. In addition, attendees will have a greater opportunity to network with their peers in these interactive sessions. Concurrent tutorials will be held the morning of Tuesday, February 14, and are available only to those who purchase an All Access Pass.
Presently most electrical/electronic equipment (EEE) is not designed for recycling, let alone for circulation. Plastics in these products account for 20% of material use, and through better design, significant environmental and financial savings could be gained.
Technological solutions and circular design opportunities already exist, but they haven’t been implemented yet.
Some challenges, such as ease of disassembly, could be resolved through better communication and by sharing learnings across the value chain.
Instead of WEEE, we should focus on developing CEEE: Circular Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
The case examples of this report show how different stages of the lifecycle can be designed so that plastics circulation becomes possible and makes business sense.
Dr Victor Fabregat Tena and Beatriz Castro Granados of REGENERA introduce circular economy principles promoted by the RINNO project, a Horizon 2020 funded programme, at the 'TRANSFORM The Circular Economy' virtual event hosted by DCU Business School and the Irish Institute of Digital Business.

f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

Note: May need to remove the E-Circular name.
The industrial sector is responsible for a third of total global GHG emissions.
We lay the foundations for carbon-neutral manufacturing systems and material flows in urban areas and industrial regions, through circular economy principles and creating added value for stakeholders
