Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by variable and recurring symptoms, reversible airflow obstruction and bronchospasm.[2] Common symptoms include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
Asthma (symptoms, treatment and risk factors)Dito Gagua
To understand asthma, it helps to know how the airways work. The airways are tubes that carry air into and out of your lungs. People who have asthma have inflamed airways. The inflammation makes the airways swollen and very sensitive. The airways tend to react strongly to certain inhaled substances.
Asthma affects people of all ages, but it most often starts during childhood.
Respiratory system issues may lead to asthma attack, so one should not ignore respiratory illness. Check out here more on asthma attack causes, prevention and asthma medication http://www.myhealthpharma.com/generic-flovent.aspx

Asthma is a chronic (long-term) condition that affects the airways in the lungs. The airways are tubes that carry air in and out of your lungs. If you have asthma, your airways can become inflamed and narrowed at times. This makes it harder for air to flow out of your airways when you breathe out.

Tetanus is a serious illness caused by Clostridium bacteria. The bacteria live in soil, saliva, dust, and manure. The bacteria can enter the body through a deep cut, like those you might get from stepping on a nail, or through a burn. It can lead to "locking" of the jaw. This makes it impossible to open your mouth or swallow.
Measles is a highly contagious infection caused by the measles virus, mainly affects children but can occur at any age. It causes a rash all over your body. The virus lives in the mucus of the nose and throat of people with this infection. Physical contact, coughing and sneezing can spread the infection.

Palpitation is a perceived abnormality of the heartbeat characterized by awareness of heart muscle contractions in the chest: hard beats, fast beats, irregular beats, and/or pauses. It is both a symptom reported by the patient and a medical diagnosis. Palpitation is frequently associated with anxiety and does not necessarily indicate a structural or functional abnormality of the heart, but it can be a symptom arising from an objectively rapid or irregular heartbeat. Palpitation can be intermittent and of variable frequency and duration, or continuous. Associated symptoms include dizziness, shortness of breath, sweating, headaches, and chest pain.

MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the primary categories of smells and the concept of odor blindness.
Explain the structure and location of the olfactory membrane and mucosa, including the types and roles of cells involved in olfaction.
Describe the pathway and mechanisms of olfactory signal transmission from the olfactory receptors to the brain.
Illustrate the biochemical cascade triggered by odorant binding to olfactory receptors, including the role of G-proteins and second messengers in generating an action potential.
Identify different types of olfactory disorders such as anosmia, hyposmia, hyperosmia, and dysosmia, including their potential causes.
Key Topics:
Olfactory Genes:
3% of the human genome accounts for olfactory genes.
400 genes for odorant receptors.
Olfactory Membrane:
Located in the superior part of the nasal cavity.
Medially: Folds downward along the superior septum.
Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.

1. Asthma
ASTHMA IS A COMMON CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE OF THE AIRWAYS
CHARACTERIZED BY VARIABLE AND RECURRING SYMPTOMS, REVERSIBLE
AIRFLOW OBSTRUCTION AND BRONCHOSPASM.[2] COMMON SYMPTOMS
INCLUDE WHEEZING, COUGHING, CHEST TIGHTNESS, AND SHORTNESS OF
BREATH.

2. What is Asthma?
If you are experiencing :
Frequent experience shortness of breath;
Chest tightness;
Hearing a whistling or wheezy sound in chest while breathing;
It can be asthma—a chronic condition that causes inflammation and
narrowing of the bronchial tubes, the passageways that allow air to
enter and leave the lungs.
When symptoms get more intense person gets an asthma attack.
Asthma attacks also are called flare-ups or exacerbations.
3. Causes
It is caused by a combination of complex and incompletely
understood environmental and genetic interactions.
May be triggered by exposure to an allergen, irritants in the
air.
Exercise or illness can also cause Asthma.
Significant Stress can also lead to Asthma.
4. Signs and Symptoms
It develops on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, or back.
Mild acne usually causes whiteheads and blackheads. These may
develop into an infection of skin i.e pimples.
Severe acne may produce hundreds of pimples into the large areas
of skin.
So typical features of acne include seborrhea (increased oil
secretion), microcomedones, comedones, papules, pustules, nodules
(large papules), and in many cases scarring.
The appearance of acne varies with skin color.
5. Diagnosis
For Asthma there is not one universal agreed upon definition.
A diagnosis of asthma should be suspected if there is a history of:
recurrent wheezing,
coughing or difficulty breathing
And these symptoms occur or worsen due to:
Exercise,
Viral infections,
Allergens or air pollution as explainer earlier.
6. Classification
Asthma exacerbation :Commonly referred to as an asthma attack with
shortness of breath, wheezing, and chest tightness.
The wheezing is most often when breathing out.
Some people present primarily with coughing, and in severe cases,
air motion may be significantly impaired such that no wheezing is
heard.
In children, chest pain is often present.
Acute severe asthma is an acute exacerbation of asthma that does
not respond to standard treatments of bronchodilators and
corticosteroids.
7. Classification
Exercise-induced : Exercise can trigger bronchoconstriction both in
people with or without asthma.
It occurs in most people with asthma and up to 20% of people
without asthma.
It is common in professional athletes.
The highest rates are among cyclists (up to 45%), swimmers, and
cross-country skiers.
8. Classification
Occupational : As a result of workplace exposures, is a commonly
reported occupational Asthma.
Estimated 5–25% of asthma cases in adults are work–related.
Aspirin-induced asthma : It affects up to 9% of asthmatics.
People affected often also have trouble with nasal polyps.
In people who are affected low doses paracetamol or COX-2
inhibitors are generally safe.
Alcohol-induced asthma : Alcohol may worsen asthmatic symptoms
in up to a third of people.
9. Homeopathy Treatment
Homeopathy treatment is holistic & patient friendly, and are customized to suit
each patient according to his condition.
There are different Homeopathy remedies for Asthma. Some of the Homeopathy
remedies used to cure Asthma are as under
Arsenicum
Ipecac
Kali bichromicum
Nux vomica
Natrum sulphuricum
We at Anubhuti Homeo Clinics prefer to take history of patients first and advise proper homeopathy remedies.A detailed
history followed by constitutional treatment by a good and qualified homeopathic doctor is necessary to treat the complaints that appear. It
is not advisable to resort to self-medication for any disease. The remedies mentioned in this presentation are mentioned solely to create
awareness of homeopathic medicines in dealing with disease conditions
