This document outlines an ASSURE method lesson plan for teaching 4th grade students about holiday traditions. The plan analyzes the diverse class of 20 students and states the objective of having 95% of students identify holiday traditions through pictures, stories, songs, and activities. A variety of methods like reading, listening to songs, YouTube videos, and traditional foods will be used. Students will participate through visual, auditory, and hands-on learning. Their understanding will be evaluated through a presentation on a holiday tradition not their own.

ASSURE Method
Analyze the Learners
Teaching Holiday traditions to 4th
graders. There are 20 students 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are
2 Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African Americans.
State Objectives
My students will identify holiday traditions by looking at pictures, reading stories, listening to
songs, and participating in given activities associated with a given holiday by the end of the
week with 95% accuracy.

Utilize Media and Materials
- I can find and bring stories/books about different traditions to read to my class but also get
the students to bring a book or share a story they may have about their traditions. I will use the
smart board to show the students videos on YouTube.
Require Learner Participation
- Learning by sight
- Learning by sound
- Hands on learning

2. Evaluate and Revise
I will evaluate my students by having them do a presentation about a holiday tradition of their
choice but one that they do not do themselves.
