Audience – 20 4th
graders (11 girls and 9 boys)
Behavior – Students will be able to describe various holiday traditions of each of the
cultures/religions that are present within the classroom. We will read various children’s books in
class representing each different culture present within our classroom. The children will make
Venn diagrams comparing and contrasting the different cultures. Then each student will share
one holiday tradition that their family practices. They will be encouraged to bring in pictures
and/or act out traditions if they choose.

name of a specific culture/religion. Students should be able to perform this task within two
weeks from the start of the holiday tradition study.
Degree – Students should be able to describe at least 1-2 holiday traditions per culture/religion
present in our classroom with 90% accuracy.
The students will study holiday traditions using books and the sharing of family traditions from
all students and they will be able to describe 1-2 holiday traditions of each culture/religion
present within our classroom at 90% accuracy by the end of our two week study.
