Assure Assignment 
A- Analyze Learners 
Teaching Holiday Traditions to 4th graders. There are 20 students 11 girls, and 9 boys. 
There are 2 Muslims, 3 Jewish, and 2 African Americans. 
S- State Objectives 
The objective of this is to teach 4th graders Holiday Traditions of Christmas. I want the 
class to know and understand the different activities and history of this holiday. They 
will know how it came about and is celebrated. They will also understand why this is a 
holiday. By the end of the lesson they will be able to tell the classroom in groups of 4 
one important tradition. The kids will all have different traditions of Christmas to learn 
about. The outcome of the lesson will be based on utilization of websites, youtube 
videos, songs, storytelling, and activities in the classroom. They will know Holiday 
Traditions by the end of the month with 80% accuracy. 
S- Select Methods, Media, and Materials 
They will watch videos on the history of Christmas. They will learn songs about 
Christmas that tells information about Christmas Traditions. They will watch and listen 
to people tell stories of traditions on the internet. They will be making ornaments and 
gifts in the classroom for hands on activities. They will learn and perform a play as a 
whole class. 
U- Utilize Media and Materials 
Group 1 will listen and watch youtube videos to learn about the food prepared on 
Christmas. Group 2 will learn songs based on the history of Christmas. This will teach 
them why Christmas is celebrated. Group 3 will be researching the internet to find 
information of why presents are given and trees are put up and decorated. Group 4 will 
watch and listen to people tell stories of their different family traditions.
R- Require Learner Participation 
All kids will be making ornaments. They will be making presents, baking cookies, 
decorating a tree in the classroom, and performing a play. 
E- Evaluate and Revise 
Before the lesson I will tell the kids a few stories about my childhood Christmas 
traditions to get them interested. During the lesson they will be learning lots of 
traditions of Christmas. After the lesson they will have learned all about Christmas 
traditions and be able to tell about them in class in their groups. To revise I will use 
more media to go in more detail with the traditions.
