Lawrence School is an independent K-12 school that uses assistive technology and differentiated instruction to help students with various learning differences succeed academically and socially. - In 1988, Public Law 108-3464, The Technology Related Services for Individuals with Disabilities was passed, which made available Federal grants to every US state and territory to establish an AT Act Program. 1990 The Assistive Technology (AT) program was created in 1990 through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research to the State of Alaska, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). Its purpose is to ensure all Alaskans have the assistive technology and related services they need to live, work and participate in their community.
