AFFECTIVE DOMAIN
Affective domain
• Describes learning objectives that emphasize a feeling tone, an
emotion, or a degree of acceptance or rejection
Objectives vary from
• Simple attention to selected
phenomena
• Complex internally consistent
qualities of character and
conscience
Characterization
Organization
Valuing
Responding
Receiving
Affective learning competencies
• Instructional objectives should be specific, measurable, short-term, observable
student behaviors
• Objectives are the foundation upon which you can build lessons ao assessments
that you can prove meet your overall course or lesson goals
• Think of the objectivesas tools you make to make sure you reach your goals. They
are arrows you shoot towards your target
• The purpose of the objectives is nor to restrict spontaneity or constrain the vision
of education in the discipline but to ensure that learning is focused clearly
enough that both student and teacher know what is going on, and so learning can
be objectively measured. Different archers have different styles, so do different
teachers.

Mental Dispositions to act that is expressed by evaluating a
particular entity with some degree of favour or disfavour. It is
comprised of four components
Motivation
• It is a reason or set of reasons for engaging in a particular behaviour.
The reasons include basic needs, or an object, goal, state of being or
ideal that is desirable.

  • 3. Affective domain • Describes learning objectives that emphasize a feeling tone, an emotion, or a degree of acceptance or rejection Objectives vary from • Simple attention to selected phenomena • Complex internally consistent qualities of character and conscience

Affective learning competencies • Instructional objectives should be specific, measurable, short-term, observable student behaviors • Objectives are the foundation upon which you can build lessons ao assessments that you can prove meet your overall course or lesson goals • Think of the objectivesas tools you make to make sure you reach your goals. They are arrows you shoot towards your target • The purpose of the objectives is nor to restrict spontaneity or constrain the vision of education in the discipline but to ensure that learning is focused clearly enough that both student and teacher know what is going on, and so learning can be objectively measured. Different archers have different styles, so do different teachers.
