1. An abstract is the preview of what’s to come or a summary of the contents of a book,
article, or formal speech. An abstract should be one paragraph, of 100-250 words,
which summarizes the purpose, methods, results and conclusion of the paper.
2. The corresponding author is the one individual who takes primary responsibility for
communication with the journal during the manuscript submission, peer review, and
publication process.
3. I will try to modify the research idea or publish the negative results as they are.
Negative results may help other researchers not to try again in the same way. I will try
to disseminate them, as they are in reality; never try to manipulate data to convert
insignificant results to significant.
4. The introduction is the roadmap of the paper, by clearly stating the study's
background, aims, and hypothesis/research question, the introduction can guide the
writer to write the rest of the paper.
5. A literature review is a comprehensive summary of previous research on a topic. The
literature review surveys scholarly articles, books, and other sources relevant to a
particular area of research.
6. A primary source is anything that gives you direct evidence about the people, events,
or phenomena that you are researching. A secondary source is anything that
describes, interprets, evaluates, or analyzes information from primary
sources. Primary sources provide raw information and first-hand evidence, while
secondary sources provide second-hand information and commentary from other
researchers. Primary sources are more credible as evidence, but good research uses
both primary and secondary sources.
7. Direct should always contain the author's surname, the publication year of the work,
and the page citation or paragraph number. A direct citation is the exact words taken
from an original source and used in a second piece of writing, while an indirect citation
is the idea or fact taken from an outside source and used in a second piece of writing.
8. We need to mention the source or authors for every claim, idea or opinion that does
not belong to us because it gives proper credit to the authors of the words or ideas, it
allows reader to locate the sources, and citing the sources consistently and accurately
helps to avoid committing plagiarism in writing.
