3. Looking at articles in other professional magazines can help me to produce a decent set of
questions in which the answers can be elaborated by the band. Different articles contain
different questions, depending on who the artist is and whether it’s the release of a new
album or about their personal lives.
In my article research, I looked at several professional magazines including, Kerrang! and
Rock Sound. I chose these particular ones as I felt they best related to the magazine I
wanted to produce. From looking at several articles, I came up with the following questions
to ask my band:

Who/what was your inspiration to start a band?

How did you come up with your bands name?

What was the first gig you ever went to?

What is your favourite album?

Why did you choose the instrument you play?

What bands do you aspire to be like?

How did your band form?

What bands would you like to see yourself touring with/supporting in the foreseeable
future?

What band/s would you like to be as big as?

What happened to make you start afresh?

What’s your favourite part of the recording process?

Have you got any upcoming gigs?
All the questions that I came up with have a personal element to them, however, the
majority of them are to do with the band and their future plans. This ensures that the reader
gets to know the band a bit more.
