 Teaching Approach: based on Communicative Approach and PPP method.
 Materials and Resources: computer – Book “Top Secret 1” Pearson (
student’s book and workbook) – Google Slides presentation – abig picture of The
Simpsons Family tree for the warm-up stage – 29 worksheets
 Pedagogical use of ICT in class: Students will watch a Google slides
presentation with the information of Maggie’s family from my computer.
 Seating arrangements: Students sit in pairs.
 Cooperative work: Children will interact with the teacher and their
classmates by doing the activities.
 Possible problems/difficulties and possible solutions in the
class: Children are used to listen to their teacher speaks Spanish and they only
listen to English for instructions. I will speak English during the whole class so if
they do not understand, I will use body gestures, mime, and modeling to aid
comprehension.
In addition to this, I will encourage students to use the target language and I will
provide them positive feedback for their participation.
 Assessment: what will be assessed and how. I will check if children
comprehend and identify allfamily members by encouraging them to participate
and answer questions such as Is He/ She? Yes, she is. No, she isn’t / Yes, he is.
No, he isn’t
ROUTINE: 10’
I will enter the classroomand I will greet children by saying “Hello children!” “How are
today?” “Are you fine?” Children will probably say “I’m fine, thank you”. I’ll give them
the cards with their names so it’ll be easy to read and remember children’s name.
Transition: “Ok.”. “Now, let’s see…”
WARM UP: 10’
I will say “Do you remember Lisa‘s big family tree?” I will stick the following poster on
the board:
“Let’s revise each member family, now!” I will point at each picture and I will say
“Look, he is Abe Simpson.” I will ask “Who is he?” He is the “grandfather.”
“Look, she is Mona Simpson.” “Who is she?” “She is the grandmother.”
I will do the same with the whole family. I will encourage children to name each one at
the same time.
Transition: “Ok, Well done children.” “Now, Maggie will show you her family.”
PRESENTATION: 10’
I will show children this presentation from my computer. “Look, children.” “You will
watch a presentation.” “Read the information carefully.”
MY FAMILY
Then, I will explain that we can say mother in a lovely way by saying mum or mummy.
We can say father, dad or daddy. The same with grandmother, we can say granny or
grandma. And we can say grandfather, grandpa or grandad. I will copy this on the
board.
Transition: “Now, open your books at page 35.” “You will work on exercise n°4”
DEVELOPMENT: 20’
Activity N°1: 10’
I will say “now, open your books at page 35.” “You will do activity n°4”
“Look at this photo.” “He is Ricky” (pointing to the boy). “Complete Ricky’s family.”
Once they have finished I will say that we will check the homework orally.
Transition: “Ok.” “Excellent work” “What about your family children?”
Activity N°2: 10’
I will give children a worksheet and I will explain that they will draw their family like
Ricky did. Finally, they will complete the sentences.

I will go around the class during the task to check learning and provide support as
necessary. Then, I will design four students to read their own information and share it
with me and their classmates. I will encourage children to use the target language
communicatively.
CLOSURE: 10’
I will ask children for the date and the weather. “Today is August, 10th” “What’s the
weather like today?” (Showing this poster) They will probably say “It’s ________”
Children will copy the date and the weather on the board. I will say that they have to
past their worksheet on their folders. “Congratulations children” (clapping my hands)
“Thank you” “See you next Wednesday”. “Good-bye.”

(family member)  Teaching Approach: based on Communicative Approach and PPP method.  Materials and Resources: computer – Book “Top Secret 1” Pearson ( student’s book and workbook) – Google Slides presentation – abig picture of The Simpsons Family tree for the warm-up stage – 29 worksheets  Pedagogical use of ICT in class: Students will watch a Google slides presentation with the information of Maggie’s family from my computer.  Seating arrangements: Students sit in pairs.  Cooperative work: Children will interact with the teacher and their classmates by doing the activities.  Possible problems/difficulties and possible solutions in the class: Children are used to listen to their teacher speaks Spanish and they only listen to English for instructions. I will speak English during the whole class so if they do not understand, I will use body gestures, mime, and modeling to aid comprehension. In addition to this, I will encourage students to use the target language and I will provide them positive feedback for their participation.
  • 4.  Assessment: what will be assessed and how. I will check if children comprehend and identify allfamily members by encouraging them to participate and answer questions such as Is He/ She? Yes, she is. No, she isn’t / Yes, he is. No, he isn’t ROUTINE: 10’ I will enter the classroomand I will greet children by saying “Hello children!” “How are today?” “Are you fine?” Children will probably say “I’m fine, thank you”. I’ll give them the cards with their names so it’ll be easy to read and remember children’s name.

WARM UP: 10’ I will say “Do you remember Lisa‘s big family tree?” I will stick the following poster on the board: “Let’s revise each member family, now!” I will point at each picture and I will say “Look, he is Abe Simpson.” I will ask “Who is he?” He is the “grandfather.” “Look, she is Mona Simpson.” “Who is she?” “She is the grandmother.” I will do the same with the whole family. I will encourage children to name each one at the same time. Transition: “Ok, Well done children.” “Now, Maggie will show you her family.”

PRESENTATION: 10’ I will show children this presentation from my computer. “Look, children.” “You will watch a presentation.” “Read the information carefully.” MY FAMILY Then, I will explain that we can say mother in a lovely way by saying mum or mummy. We can say father, dad or daddy. The same with grandmother, we can say granny or grandma. And we can say grandfather, grandpa or grandad. I will copy this on the board. Transition: “Now, open your books at page 35.” “You will work on exercise n°4” DEVELOPMENT: 20’

Activity N°1: 10’ I will say “now, open your books at page 35.” “You will do activity n°4” “Look at this photo.” “He is Ricky” (pointing to the boy). “Complete Ricky’s family.” Once they have finished I will say that we will check the homework orally. Transition: “Ok.” “Excellent work” “What about your family children?”
  • 9. Activity N°2: 10’ I will give children a worksheet and I will explain that they will draw their family like Ricky did. Finally, they will complete the sentences. Draw your family and complete the sentences. Hi! My name is ……………………… This is my family.
