Teaching Approach: My lesson is based on Communicative approach and PPP
method. I include some TPR.
Materials and resources: a computer- song “hello” taken from teacher’s
magazine- two carton boxes (a light blue winter box and a yellow summer
box) – a real shopping bag – a real suitcase – a picture of a shopping- Winter
flashcards (a hat, a scarf, a jacket, gloves, pants, shoes, socks) Summer
flashcards (a cap, a t-shirt, sandals, a skirt, a dress, shorts and flip-flops) –– real
winter and summer clothes- a Bye Bye Goodbye Song for Kids from Super
simple songs (in a pendrive).
Pedagogical use of ICT in class: In this lesson, children will listen to the Hello
song and bye bye goodbye song from my computer using a pen drive.
Seating arrangement: For better organization, they will sit on their chairs and I
will call one girl and one boy for participation.
5. Cooperative work: learners of this age are in the parallel play stage, which
means they can play together, but still find it difficult to carry out group work
activities. They can help each other by naming clothes.
Possible problems/difficulties and possible solutions in the class: - If they do
not understand all the instructions in English, I will use body gestures, mime
and modeling to aid comprehension. – I will pay attention to negative aspects
such as misbehavior. I’ll call children’s attention and ask for silence.
Assessment: I’ll check if children comprehend and identify winter summer
clothes by showing them a suitcase with real clothes and then some flashcards.
Routine: 5’
I’ll get into the classroom and greet students: “Hello! How are you today?” “I’m fine”
“And you?”
I’ll invite children to sing a new “hello” song.
I’ll ask students to sit and we’ll sing the song. I will show them a picture while we are
singing “I’mfine, I’m fine” in order to promote a positive action and joy.
Hello, Hello. How are today? I’m fine. I’m fine. And you how are you?
Good morning, Good morning.
How are you today?
I’m fine. I’m fine
And you? How are you?
6. Good evening. Good evening.
How are you today?
I’m fine. I’m fine.
And you? How are you?
Transition: Well done kids! Excellent! (we clap our hands)
Warm-up 5’:
I’ll tell children that I went to the shopping centre (showing a picture of this and
sticking on the board) and I’ll say that I bought some new clothes. I’ll ask: “Do you
want to see what I bought?” (acting and showing a shopping bag). “Ok. Look!” I’ll open
the shopping bag enthusiastically and I’ll show them real socks and flip flops. I’ll say…
In summer time, I’ll wear flip flops. “Yes!” “Because it’s hot” (mime) and I’ll go to the
beach. And now, in winter time, I’ll wear socks. “Yes” “Because It’s cold…Brrrrr!”
(mime) “Look! Do you like them?”

“Thank you” and I’ll put the t-shirt in the suitcase. Then I’ll call another child and I’ll do
the same action with all my clothes.

mix the winter and summer flashcards. I’ll call one child and I’ll say. “Ok” “Take
the yellow cap” (chanting and singing all together). He or she’ll probably take
the correct flashcard. I’ll ask now “Do you wear the yellow cap in summer or
winter season?” The child will put the flashcard in the correct season box. We’ll
do the same action with all the clothes.
