 Teaching Approach: based on Communicative Approach and PPP method.
 Materials and Resources: a computer- pictures of Frida Khalo- a video taken
from YouTube - worksheets – board – folders
 Pedagogical use of ICT in class: Students will watch a short video from you tube
about Frida’s biography for the presentation stage.
 Seating arrangements: Students sit in pairs.
 Cooperative work: Students will work in pairs to develop their activities as they
will feel more confident and motivated.
 Possible problems/difficulties and possible solutions in the class:
Students are used to listening to their teacher speaking in Spanish during the
whole lesson. They do not speak in English. I will speak English during the whole
class so if they do not understand, I will use body gestures, facial expressions,
miming, and modeling to aid comprehension.
 Assessment: what will be assessed and how?
I’ll check students’ understanding and participation by providing help when necessary.
I’ll provide the opportunity to develop their skills and help them to improve or build
confidence in their activities.
ROUTINE: 5’
I’ll say “Hello students” “How are you today?” “My name is Roxana, and I’ll be sharing
with you some lessons so I hope you enjoy them” Then, I’ll ask to write their names in
a card so I can remember them easily.
Then, I’ll copy the date on the board.
Transition: “Ok...students ”. “Now, look…” “I’ve brought some pictures for you”
WARM UP: 10’
I’ll show students some pictures from my computer.

Then, I’ll ask students “Do you know this famous artist?”
“Can you tell me who she is?”
“What does Frida represent for you?”
As Frida Khalo is a famous artist in the Art world, they’ll probably say Frida Khalo.
Transition: “Ok, Excellent students.” “Now, let’s know more about Frida Khalo.”

I’ll distribute a worksheet to each student. I’ll nominate a student to read the
title.
Frida Khalo, her biography.
1) Read the biography.
2) Complete the passage with the Past Simple of the verbs in brackets.

portraits and paintings of Mexican folklore.

CAREER: 1907, travelled to Europe to further his art studies. He painted
severalmurals in The United States.
DIED: on November, 24, 1957, in Mexico.
