During this lesson, learners will be able to…
 Identify and name and use different family members.
 Incorporate and practise their previous knowledge of numbers.
 Develop their reading and writing skills by completing different
activities.
Teaching points: - language focus:
 Teaching approach: This lesson plan is based on the PPP approach.
 Materials and resources: A copy for each student of the Tree to Activity
1. A big tree and words for the Warm Up Stage.
 Pedagogical use of ICT in class: No instances of ICT in this lesson.
 Seating arrangement: Students will be sitting on their desks since I
believe it´s the best way to see and participate of the class. Also, they will have
visual contact and interaction.
 Cooperative work: learners of this age can interact and work together in
order to perform activities.
 Possible problems / difficulties and their possible solutions during
the class: Children may get too excited during the class because they are very
participative students and sometimes they overflow. In that case, I’ll remind
them we should be careful with the resources used and be able to perform all
the activities. In order to get them quiet: I´ll name them or say Silence, please!
 Potential problems students may have with the language: They may
not understand the slogans, I’ll guide them by showing the different activities.

WARM UP (10 minutes)
Purpose: to introduce the topic and evaluate students´ understanding.
- Good afternoon kids! How are you? We will start the class, today is
September 19th. Do you remember what we learnt the previous class? What
was “The Family”? Yes! Very good!
Do you remember the names?
(I will encourage students to name the family members, then I will show the
following words)
- We will make a Family Tree, OK? We will put the words on the tree, who
will came in front to put the word? I will start.
DEVELOPMENT (15 minutes)
Activity 1 (15 minutes)
Purpose: to students identify and practise previous vocabulary.
Now you will make your own Family Tree. You will write as many family members
as you have. For example, I have got a father, I have a mother, I have two sisters, I
have one brother... you will write on the tree, OK?
TRANSITION
Nice work kids! Beautiful trees, let´s talk now!
CLOSURE (15 minutes)
Purpose: to students identify and practise the topic vocabulary.
Students will sit in circle and will share their Family Trees while they explain how
their family is composed and their names. I will start in order to give the example
and show the structure to use, I HAVE GOT.
- I want to meet your families, so we will share the Family Trees, I will start, listen
everyone.
- I have got a father, Felipe, and a mother, Silvina. I have got two sisters, Florencia
and Rosario. I have got a brother, Santiago, and a beautiful niece called Olivia. We
are a small family.
- Now, who´s first? Gonzalo, would you start?
We finish the class kids, you have the break now. Good bye!
