Southern Hindu architecture flourished beginning in the 8th century CE, while the Chandellas built ornate temples at Khajuraho from 950-1030 CE. The Mughals greatly invested in monumental architecture, most famously the Taj Mahal. Indian architecture reflects the diversity of Indian culture, evolving over centuries through various invading influences.
